This week, we are trout fishing

in the streams of New York

with our Senko Skipper guide, Christian,

who is going to teach us how to catch a trout.

Christian is hooked up right now

on a big, beautiful brown trout.

We're using the "float and bead" method,

and if you don't know what that is,

stick around and find out!

You want it about an inch or two inches from the hook,

because you don't want the fish to see the hook,

because when they engulf the-- when they hit the bead,

they'll engulf the bead and your hook's going to go

right in with 'em, and that's when you get the hook set.

Ahh!

This water's flowing pretty good so put

three weights about...

here, about two foot up.

Trout fishing requires patience,

it's not easy to even walk the streams

because the long trout rods are difficult to handle.

And watch out for snags,

because you're going to be getting plenty of those!

Trout are pretty hard fish to catch.

We are throwing our bobber upstream

and letting it drift down,

so the bead floats with the running water.

See that log that's still in the water?

Uh huh!

I just let that float right outside of it and it

went down instantly, so there's trout

hiding right under that log right there.

Under this log right here.

There's a hole right here, and that's where

all the sticks used to be.

So they're waiting under that--see the calm water?

Uh huh!

That's what they--you never--

For trout fishing, the way I do it with beads,

is you always want to try to keep your bead on the

outside of the current.

Uh huh, not on the inside.

Most fish will stay in the current,

and if something goes by on the outside

they'll swim right out and they'll take it.

(Ahh!) That's how I just pulled that one off of that log.

I see!

Do you understand the basic concept though?

I believe so... it's basically--

You kind of just want to drift--

let, let the bait drift it. (Right.)

Let the bait kinda just bounce off the bottom....

... and you'll know when you get a hit

if the bobber goes down.

He got one! Fish on!

Niiice!

Wow, beautiful fish!

Christian is able to land his fish with ease,

and I have to remind myself

that this type of fishing requires practice and skill.

The trout are much smarter than you'd think!

Nice fat female.

Has anybody else tried to catch a fish,

then realize it's a lot harder than it looks?

Because it takes me a few times to figure this out...

Came off again? Yeah...

That was a bigass one! Yeah...

@#&!

And--aww!--it broke my bobber!

It hit your bobber?

It just destroyed my bobber...

That was a @#&! big one

Ugh! Got my blood pumping!

Trout fishing is hard! (It is hard!)

It really is hard, because, um,

I kind of don't really know... what to look for exactly?

I feel like I'm getting the rhythmn down...

I have a lot of respect for the people who can go out

and catch rainbows and big trout like Christian...

He's already hooked up on like, four of five of 'em!

Yeah!

Yeah!

That's a beautiful fish, Brendon!

Whew!

Woah-ho-hoah! Finally got one!

Alright, so he said be careful with the gills...

It was not easy to catch,

Christian is able to catch so many, but...

this uh,

oh, this one was caught before, too.

Took me a couple days to actually land one.

Alright, yeah, let's give it a goodbye, yeah,

let's give it a goodbye.

Now, Christian takes us to a spot where

he thinks a lot of brown trout will be.

And, what do you know, his first cast and he gets one.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity

to go out with this guy, Christian,

you should take it, because he is the best!

Whether it be trout fishing, ice fishing, pike fishing, bass fishing,

he has put us on numerous fish

every time we come visit him,

and we thank you very much for that, Christian.

This 8-minute, 28-second video has left me speechless.

It�s as if we have long stopped living in reality, we live a lie, one that has become

so widespread, that we cannot see what is really happening�so evidently�all around

us.

Have you ever wondered about what FREEDOM actually is?

What it really means?

It is defined as being the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.

Regrettably, in today�s society, you barely have any power at all, the right to act is

limited by predefined rules which we have been blindly following since time immemorial.

Are we free to act as we want?

Or have we been acting as we are told, almost as the entire planet is following a predefined

movie script called life?

Strangely, this script has made us forget the very definition of living freely.

We Wake up, we go to work, we Eat, and we sleep.

Thinking has become a limitation mostly because there is so much twisted disinformation around

us.

From the textbooks we see in school, to the useless information we are being fed by corporations

and media around the globe.

Freedom has slowly become a word that has adapted many meanings.

As decades and centuries pass, freedom is evolving into an unrecognizable word.

It is also denotated as being �the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.�

However, prison and slavery are all around us.

There are present in society in different ways, without being visible, we are imprisoned

by a system that was put together by the people, but has become corrupted and twisted to the

point where we act almost as if we lacked minds of our own.

We say FREEDOM, and liberty are present in society because we have a home, a job, a car,

but in the end, we are all stuck on a MASSIVE �island� in space called Earth.

It�s as if society has become deceived throughout centuries to the point where we wage war justifying

it is for the sake of freedom, even though freedom is something that cannot exist in

a state of war, and wars cannot obtain freedom.

Wars are part of the system.

How can freedom exist when there are nearly a billion people that are starving?

Does this mean we have chosen to ignore it?

Do you feel free?

Can you drink water freely in the wild, knowing it is not polluted?

That it is not poisoned?

Can you take food from a tree as our ancestors did once and eat it?

How about growing your own food?

Everything around us is controlled, and as things are looking now, we aren�t improving

as a species, we are doing a piss-poor job as one.

We have DE-EVOLVED to the point where we cannot obtain food from nature, drink fresh, ice

cold water and use the land Earth has given us to make our homes.

Yes, once�in the very distant past�when the word freedom was still not defined, we

were able and capable of doing everything freely, without fear, and without freedom

because it is modern society who has created the word, but failed miserably to define it,

let alone implement it adequately.

This video defines and resumes everything we have failed to do as a society.

It is a wakeup call.

'Cloverfield' Director Reportedly Offered 'Batman' Franchise - Duration: 1:06.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

These past few weeks have been much like a soap opera for the Batman franchise.

First Ben Affleck bows out of directing, then there were reports of starting the movie from

scratch, then finally there were reports stating that everything is fine and the movie is going

along swimmingly.

While the rumor mill is running full force on The Batman solo movie, Deadline is reporting

that they have potentially found a new director.

Known for directing 'Cloverfield', Matt Reeves has been offered the franchise after Affleck

made it clear that he could not act and direct the film.

"Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give.

It has become clear that I cannot do both [acting and directing] jobs to the level they

require."

There is no word on whether Reeves accepted the offer or not but based off of Cloverfield,

War For The Planet Of The Apes, and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which are all successful

franchises in their own rights, this could be a good fit.

The Batman is supposed to begin shooting in the Spring.

Drake Responds to 'Fake News' Scarf Controversy - Duration: 1:31.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

Drake has been under fire since a controversial video was released of him telling a woman

at a performance to remove her scarf, which many believed to be a hijab.

Drake fans took the news and ran with it, calling a boycott and accusing him of being

islamophobic.

The thing is, the woman was not wearing a hijab, and Drake claims that the whole story

is fake news.

The video, which has since been deleted, showed drake telling the woman,

"You got on that hot ass scarf right there, you might wanna take this off.

You gotta turn this muthaf*cka up... you gotta come out of that sh*t."

Because of all the backlash, the Canadian rapper released a statement clarifying what

happened, and why the idea of him disrespecting someone's religion would never happen.

"I make a point every night to end my shows on a time of unity and love so, to find out

that I am being utilized in a fake media story about me disrespecting Muslims is devastating

to me.

I was talking to 4 women one of whom was wearing a jacket and a winter scarf, I made a comment

about taking off the scarf because I enjoy a friendly banter with the fans.

I am well aware of what a hijab is and I would never make a disrespectful comment like that

in my life towards someone who is wearing one."

He went on to say that he is proud that his closest friends and fans come from different

religions and races, and that perhaps the person who wrote this fake news should spent

more time learning about other cultures and spend less time dividing others.

BE USED FOR BUT IT IS ALSO A WAY TO COMBAT GROWING ISSUE IN

THE BAY AREA PARTICULARLY SAN FRANCISCO OF INCOME INEQUALITY.

YOU SEE THOSE WORKING IN SILICON VALLEY MAKING A TREMENDOUS

AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THEN THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE, PRETTY

MUCH EVERYONE ELSE KIND OF GETTING SHUT OUT OF SAN

FRANCISCO BECAUSE IT IS BECOMING SO UNAFFORDABLE.

EXACTLY, AND LOOK JUST DOING IT LOOKS GOOD FOR YOUR CITY

IF YOU WANT THE RECOGNITION EVERYTHING, BUT THINK ABOUT

PEOPLE CAN MOVE NOW FREELY REVENUE ONE AROUND THE

COUNTRY AND YES, YOU HAVE TO PUT A COUPLE ME DOLLARS TO PAY

FOR THIS TUITION BUT IF YOU CAN THEORETICALLY BRING IN A FEW

THOUSAND RESIDENTS EACH YEAR, THOSE PEOPLE WILL PAY TAXES.

THEY MIGHT LIVED THERE FOR DECADES.

THIS COULD MAKE ECONOMIC SENSE FOR A CITY TO PROVIDE THIS

AS AN INITIAL OUTLAY OF MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO MIGHT BE

LIFELONG RESIDENTS AND RAISE FAMILIES THERE, PAY TAXES

FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

THIS COULD BE GREAT FOR CITIES TO SET UP IF THEY WANT TO

GET THAT MONEY LONG-TERM.

EXACTLY.

THERE ARE OTHER CITIES AND STATES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

THAT ARE TRYING TO THINK OF WAYS TO MAKE COLLEGE MORE AFFORDABLE

AND SO THERE ARE VARIOUS POLICY IDEAS BEING PUT OUT THERE BUT

NONE OF THEM ARE AS I GUESS LIBERAL AD OR PROGRESSIVE

AS THIS ONE IS BECAUSE THIS ONE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR

INCOME LEVEL.

I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CONCERNED, BUT IF YOU DO

THIS, IF YOU JUST OFFER FREE TUITION ACROSS THE BOARD, THEN

WEALTHY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT BECAUSE WEALTHY

PEOPLE ARE DYING TO SEND THE RICH KIDS TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

IF A BUNKER TRUMP WANTS TO GO TO SAN FRANCISCO CITY

COLLEGE, LET HER.

THAT'S ANOTHER THING, I DON'T REALLY CARE.

IF A WEALTHY FAMILY WANTS TO SEND THEIR CHILD TO A COMMUNITY

COLLEGE THAT HAS FREE TUITION, AWESOME.

I THINK THAT'S GREAT.

ANOTHER THING TO KEEP IN MIND, SOME OF THE PRIVATE COLLEGES

DESPISE THIS BECAUSE THEY FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO HURT THEIR

BOTTOM LINE AND MORE STUDENTS ARE LIKELY TO GO FOR MORE

AFFORDABLE OPTIONS.

MAYBE YOU WILL LOWER YOUR PRICES A LITTLE BIT.

I REMEMBER THE FIRST ARGUMENT DURING THE CALIFORNIA

PRIMARY WHEN WE HAD THE DUELING EDUCATIONAL DEBATES AND

HILLARY CLINTON SAYS, I AM NOT GOING TO SET UP A PLAN THAT

IS GOING TO BENEFIT DONALD TRUMP.

BARRON TRUMP IS NOT GOING TO YUKON.

THAT IS A SILLY ARGUMENT AND EVEN IF ONE OR TWO DID, IT WOULD

BE SUCH A SMALL PORTION OF THE FUNDING, TO SET THAT UP AS THE

ESSENTIAL DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE TWO POLICIES IS RIDICULOUS,

WHETHER A DEMOCRAT IS MAKING THAT ARGUMENT OR REPUBLICAN.

THIS IS GOOD AND HOPEFULLY IT SPREADS TO OTHER CITIES

THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

I THINK WE REALLY NEED TO HELP OUR STUDENTS AFFORD COLLEGE.

But there is one tiny problem, Kloss made the unforgivable mistake of confusing destiny's

child with TLC.

So is she even a fan at all?

Love magazine published a profile of Kloss where she confessed her Beyonce obsession.

Under the question of how Beyonce has influenced her life, Kloss wrote,

"She is the soundtrack to my life!

C'mon Waterfalls?!"

Um...no.

Waterfalls, which is arguably one of the best R&B songs of the 90's was TLC's hit in 1994.

Beyonce wasn't even a part of Destiny's Child yet, she was only 13 at the time that song

was released.

Poor Karlie, these tweets say it all.

4 Real Tips to Spiritual Awakening from Awakened Teachers

I have heard the following story:

�Three blind men are sitting around a table in a house where they were guests. They are

discussing whether the fruit the host offered to them was grape, pear or peach. None of

them has ever eaten or touched any of the three kinds of fruit. They have, however,

read a lot about different fruit, and from that they knew what experience other people

had about them. Each of them had a definite opinion about the issue. One of them said

the fruit was grape, the other insisted that it was pear, whereas the third one argued

that it had to be peach, and each of them believed that he and only he could be right.

The fourth person present, the host who was not blind, said that none of them was right;

the fruit they tasted was apple. The three blind men, who were unaware that their host

was not blind, wanted to convince their host that they were right, they read a lot about

it, and they were real experts of the issue. They argued that one cannot just declare about

something, in that case, a fruit, that it can only be apple, since every real opinion

that promotes scientific progress, may only be based upon a real debate. Their host told

them�to no avail�that he could actually see that the fruit they consumed for dinner

was apple, and he could not and did not wish to open a debate about it, the three blind

men elevated the debate to a spiritual level, and they questioned whether seeing existed

at all, or just some high and mighty characters, like their host, invented the idea in order

to polish their own. The host was quietly watching them for a while, and he SAW that

he was going to be unable to convince them with any argument whatsoever, so he left the

room.�

What is The Truth?

The truth is that the three blind men did not have any problem with their eyes. Their

vision was blurred by thick clouds of thoughts, e. g. like these:

�It is impossible to make sure whether seeing, as a palpable reality exists, and it is not

only something that some people �like our host� are dreaming about. Seeing Masters

here, Awakened teachers there, that is the situation. We have no clues, we do not know

what seeing is, and what alleged seers see. The same applies to the �Masters.� Why

would the �Masters� be any better observers than we are, or especially why would they

be the carriers of truth? Just because they have meditated for a few years? Or because

they were brought up in monasteries? Or because they are good orators? Or because they have

a charisma? Or because they are enlightened? These are all subjective, intangible things.�

If these people were able to stay quiet for a short while and turn their attention inward,

this thick cloud of thoughts would gradually disperse, and they would be able to see reality

clearly: the fruit they have eaten was apple!

It would not even be necessary to explain it to them what it was, as they would recognize

it themselves!

Criteria for the Recognition of the Road Signs

This little story illustrates that the Seeker is walking along the spiritual Journey shrouded

in a thick cloud of their thoughts that prevents them from seeing the path leading to Truth.

In these circumstances it is important that the spiritual Seekers should recognize and

notice the road signs that the awakened, seeing Masters have left behind for them in order

to lead them out of trouble.

A few aspects that may help the Seeker to recognize the signposts:

an awakened teacher only teaches freedom, urging the spiritual Seeker to wake up, to

be free of the mind, the Ego, the world, customs and traditions etc.;

an awakened teacher never provides methods for the spiritual progress of a spiritual

Seeker as he is aware all these methods boosts the Ego-dominated Mind and deepens the conditioned

state of the individual; an awakened teacher can only be your lighthouse,

casting light on your spiritual path, but you must understand it and walk your own path;

an awakened teacher never joins the expectations of the Ego and Mind, so he will not be anyone

the spiritual Seeker images him to be.

THOMPSON: Michael,

always a pleasure. First,

let me thank you for what

you do, and what you do

for the law school of

Milwaukee. MIKE: I

appreciate that. Best to

Sue ann. The president

was not your first choice.

GOVERN

THOMPSON: or my

second choice. MIKE:

how you think he is

doing? GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: you got to

like somebody who says

something and then does

it. He's not as diplomat

or as political as you

would like, why would like

We don't like his tweeting,

you don't like his

pronouncements, you

don't like the fact that he

is a bully. But we all knew

that and people voted for

him. They voted for him

because they trusted him.

They believed he was

going to do what he said.

And what was the one

rejoinder throughout all

the political season? We

want someone who is

going to Washington,

make a difference of say

they are going to do. He's

going to do something

about health care. He

already made an

executive order. Is going

to do something about the

security of the border.

You may not like it, but he

is doing it. He was would

do something about

getting people not from

Washington in this

cabinet. He is doing that.

He has done it. He's

building up the defense.

He's going around in

meeting with people. He

says I'm going to be a

winner, I'm going to bring

businesses back. You

have to give him credit,

he's doing those things.

You probably didn't vote

for him if you don't like

him, but he is doing what

he said he is going to do.

I like that. MIKE: are you

concerned about his

temperament? The

comments about the

judiciary, does that bother

you? GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: it bothers a

lot of people. But the truth

of the matter is that is

Donald. Is the way he is.

Hopefully he's going to

mellow. MIKE: you think

it's going to happen?

GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: I think so.

It's a huge learning curve

for someone who has

never been in politics to

learn how to deal with

politicians, political

issues, and so on and so

forth. He's doing what he

said he was going to do.

Hopefully his

temperament and

demeanor changes, not

dramatically, but finesse

it. Be more political, be

nicer. I think that is all

coming. He's got peopl

around him who know

he's got to make som

changes. But overall, I

would give him a stron

A. MIKE: you mentioned

the repeal a

replacement of

Obamacare. He says he's

go to take immediate

action. There is starting to

the unrest among some

conservatives who are

saying why haven't we

repeal this? Should he be

trying to move more

quickly on the repeal and

replacement of

Obamacare?

GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: I'm

advising not to. MIKE:

why is that? GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: if you

repeal it, first off, under

the transitional rules, in

order to get through the

Senate, you need the 60

votes. It has to deal

justice finances. So you

repeal all the taxes? If you

repeal all the taxes on

finances, what money will

you have left over to

rebuild it? If you just go in

and repeal it right now,

you don't have -- those

Republicans are not going

to vote for new taxes to

fund a new health plan.

You're going to defeat

yourself if you don't have

a replacement bill ready

to go at the same time

you repeal. You have to

do them at the same

time. People and

understand that. The

second thing is you have

to justify and be able to

equalize the payments on

Medicaid. Some states

like Florida, Ohio, in

Pennsylvania and

Michigan are getting 90%

great those states will not

want to take a cut.

Wisconsin, on the other

hand, didn't take the

enhanced match.

Negative Missouri or

Texas. Those are also

Republican states. You

are setting up a real fight

for how you make equity

out of this? And who gets

what money? That's a big

problem. They have to

solve these problems.

Let's be smart about it.

Let's not just repeal it

because of a campaign

promise. Let's build a

health care system that

works, it's going to be

paid for, that's accessible

and affordable. That's

what they have to do. I

would much rather have

them take the time then

do something dramatic

and radical I repealing it

and not getting it right.

MIKE: what's the biggest

challenge for the new

health and human

services secretary, Tom

Price, who's doing what

you did? GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: the biggest

job he has immediately is

to get his people in. But

then to sit down and say

what changes can you

make administratively

under the law to make

Obamacare less onerous

more accessible, and

more affordable. That

his biggest job, and

hopefully he will reach out

to people that know the

law and have them come

into Washington and help.

That's what he needs to

do. MIKE: we have seen

a remarkable number of

leaks early in this of

administration. He worked

in the Bush

administration, are you

surprised at the amount

of information that's

coming out from the

White House about this

administration?

GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: a little bit,

but not really. The White

House is a a sieve.

Obama said I can't trust

anybody, he gets out the

next day. It's amazing to

me, when I used to get

top-secret briefings after

9/11, because of health

care that I wa

responsible for. They say

this is really top-secret. I

would read it and the next

day would be on the front

page, just about every

thing they were giving me

one day, the next day

somebody was leaking it

someplace. It's amazing

what top-secret and

secret and things like this

are getting into the press

because somebody is

talking. MIKE: it's the way

of Washington.

GOVERNOR

THOMPSON: is the way

of Washington. M

getting worse, because

everybody is tweetin

everybody has got

mobile phone. Everybody

is on Facebook, and you

were doing this. You don't

think of it. Immediately he

gets out. MIKE: let me

Why Are People Mean to Themselves? - Duration: 4:47.

Hi there, my name is Athol.

This is an Ask Athol Anything Episode where I answer your questions about love, sex, happiness

and anything.

So let's jump to today's question.

"Where does being mean to yourself come from?

Why do people treat themselves badly and what makes them dig themselves out of that hole?"

Essentially treating yourself badly is just sort of one of the natural outpourings of

low self-esteem.

And where and why low self-esteem happens, I mean that can be for dozens of different

reasons but it's usually some form of people have treated you badly or suggested you should

feel badly about yourself and you believe that narrative, you internalize it, and then

because you value yourself less you treat yourself poorly and just badly.

You internalize this value that you should be treated badly.

As to what makes them dig themselves out of that hole, usually people reach some point

where the outcome is just so crappy that it breaks their narrative that they have for

themselves.

Like they might have thought poorly of themselves and been willing to treat themselves badly

but then you run into a situation where you are just treated so horrifically and treated

so terribly or your outcome is just so bad that it breaks that script that you have in

your head because you think you're worth this much and the reality is that your whole life

sort of becomes as a whole lot less than that and it breaks that script.

And you have to get to this point of thinking well this is not right.

This is not working.

Why did I have this terrible outcome?

And it's really at that point I think a lot of people start re-evaluating how they feel

about themselves and what they did to get there.

In terms of digging yourself out of that hole, most people have a great trouble at pulling

themselves up because they're so used to that narrative in their head that this is what

they deserve and they don't deserve better and this is all they should have.

You almost need to go through a period, and it can be months or even years, of trying

to reprogram yourself in terms of how you feel about yourself.

And essentially the way you do that is you start acting like you are someone who has

good or high self-esteem and you start treating yourself like you have good or high self-esteem

even if that doesn't sort of mesh with how you actually feel about yourself.

And you'll probably find that there's a long period of time where you treat yourself well

and you feel awkward about it or uncomfortable about it and it's not natural and it's not

normal and the scripts in your head say you don't actually need to do this for yourself.

You shouldn't do this for yourself.

You don't deserve it.

And in a sense what you have to do is you have to ignore your own internal chatter,

your own emotional disconnect, and just treat yourself properly anyway.

And slowly over time that will become the new normal and you'll become used to treating

yourself better and it'll become more natural and you'll start to enjoy it and you'll start

seeing the positive results of holding yourself in higher self-esteem because you just project

better.

You'll be happier.

You'll be more content.

You'll be more attractive.

You'll feel like you have higher energy.

And that's all positive stuff that people will respond to.

So summing up, people treat themselves mean because they have some version of low self-esteem.

They figure that out because they probably reach some sort of crash point that breaks

their own narrative.

And the way to get out of it is to start acting like you have good self-esteem, you value

yourself, you turn off that chatter in your head and you basically wait for your feelings

about yourself to catch up for the good actions about yourself that you're doing.

And that's about it.
