Hello and welcome to humaldoTV!
Today's main focus is on podcasts,
and there is an announcement.
But before that I have once again some things for you to share.
There's some sad news:
This will be the last episode with subtitles.
Subtitles, why am I doing this at all?
I just wanted to try it out
because YouTube provides this handy feature,
where you can enter and create subtitles
and which then adapts to the video. This is actually pretty cool,
but it's also quite a lot of work, because you have to transcribe the whole thing first,
since everything I say in my episodes
is totally unscripted.
It's then converted into a .srt file,
which YouTube creates automatically,
And then it has to be translated to English.
This was at first a very interesting task for me
but it costs too much time.
The translations take longer than making the actual episodes takes.
That's why I decided,
after episode 19,
so, from the next episode on, episode 20 - which is almost another anniversary -
there will be no more subtitles. This is, of course, a loss of comfort,
but I think quite few people used subtitles anyway.
And if someone doesn't get along with my dialect,
That's bad luck.
Or learn it! Attend courses on Mostviertlerisch.
For English speakers, it's bad, because I know a few people,
who are no German speakers, and
they are now excluded from being my audience, which is unfortunately quite sad.
But it is simply a rational decision,
an economic decision because those translations simply take too long.
I could use the time to make a lot more videos and to focus on real content.
I have already prepared today's topics, this time quite classically on paper,
To know where I am at the moment. Exactly, next point!
An anniversary! I've cracked the 200 subscribers mark recently!
Pretty cool, thanks for subscribing! But there is still room,
so if you happen to have a YouTube account, so an Google Account, for Android phones and so,
then you actually already should have a YouTube account, I think.
You can simply go there and subscribe,
That would be very cool, because this helps me to further improve my channel,
to broaden it and to cover more and more cool topics and to go safely into the future.
Recently I have overcome myself and I have created a trailer video for my channel,
where I explain briefly what's on my channel.
So, a new visitor immediately gets a good impression,
well, as well as it just gets on my channel.
I also released a new gaming video I played Resident Evil 7
with VR glasses, so I played it in virtual reality,
and was shocked, frightened and extremely enthusiastic, overall.
And that is actually the main reason, Why I stopped creating subtitles,
so I have more time to play games.
you have to set priorities, that's quite clear.
I have to come back to my question of the week,
which has mutated into the indefinitely prolonged question of the week.
Who else is YouTubing in Austria?
This time I researched the gaming landscape again
and I found Mr. Zsolt and Mr. Pauer,
they are editors at derstandard.at They actually release gaming vides very frequently,
let's plays, trailers, it's very entertaining, I can highly recommend their channel.
Then, of course, the Shock2 YouTube channel.
Shock2 arose from Consol.at, Mr. Michi Furtenbach
is still creating web magazine stuff, and here all the videos are released,
mainly video podcasts and so on. Then, of course, Nerdkeller,
this is another magazine which also arose from the Consol.at community.
Everything has its origin in Consol.at, but I will come to that later.
Gamers.at also has to do with Consol, more or less,
with Consol.Media, which no longer exists since 2013,
Die Digitale Spieleschau, which was also made by Consol.at at that time,
This was Hanns Peter's personal project, more or less,
This it's on hold since 2013 but the videos are still there
and that's all quite interesting to watch.
If you want to investigate on your own
about the Austrian YouTuber scene, there's the Austrian YouTuber list!
There are all Austrian YouTubers listed, at least those who did register.
You can also sort them by games, and also by district.
Here you can certainly spend a lot of time doing research.
Then let's start with the podcast part!
What are podcasts? For the case that you do not know,
that's basically small radio programs, which can be easily produced and put online.
Maybe you remember, around 2001, 2002,
the Apple iPod was released, and became the most popular MP3 player in no time.
It had a hard drive incluced, and people began to release
small MP3 broadcasts on the Internet, offered via a RSS feed.
People listened to them on their iPods, and so the name was coined.
"Cast" from broadcast.
Of course they can be played on all possible devices, and are not just limited to iPods.
But how did I discover podcasts at all?
Again, it was as all Consol.at's fault.
They produced the Consol.at podcast at that time, which was my very first podcast,
I listened to. At the end of the 2000's, the whole podcast thing took off
and everyone produced his own podcast.
And of course, I also had to make one.
That was the humeCAST. I produced a total of 12 regular episodes
plus 2 additional episodes.
You can also watch them on YouTube.
because over Christmas I made a humaldoTV break, and I uploaded
all 12 episodes to YouTube. The first three episodes I talked alone,
Which was a bit boring, though, but from episode 4 on, I invited guests,
and then the whole thing has become really dynamic. But back to Consol.at
In my opinion, they were very revolutionary at the time,
concerning modern media and stuff.
There I heard for the first time from Twitter, I again invested time in web forums,
and so I eventually started producing my own podcast.
Unfortunately, Consol.at was closed in 2013. There is a blogpost on my website, the HumePage.
It's basically an obituary, which I posted on 28 October 2013.
Here you will learn a lot of interesting things,
and of course it's quite nostalgic and heart-aching.
humeCAST!
I produced these 12 episodes and there was always a very long time between them,
half a year at times, because I had then the claim,
to reach radio-broadcast quality. I did a lot of audio sample editing, I've worked out concepts,
I often worked a couple of days, preparing a single episode.
In the end, that was way too time consuming, and then I decided,
no, I did not have the time anymore,
I now had different priorities, and I then put the humeCAST on hold.
As already mentioned in humaldoTV, last week I was invited to
a podcast about the Nintendo Switch. Afterwards, I had a very positive feeling towards podcasts again,
I thought, man, these podcasts are actually pretty awesome.
I only overdid the whole thing at that time,
I just put too much overcomplicated effort in my episodes.
The cool thing about podcasts is actually that they are relatively fast to produce,
especially if you have an interesting partner and just keep on chatting,
the outcome could be very cool and honest. You do not have to edit anything,
and you do not have to create all those graphical stuff. That is why I decided
to I resurrect my podcast!
I've updated my podcast feed, And it's now called
"humaldo & friends!"
It's still the same feed as before, but of course there's a new concept behind it.
It is now no longer a topic-centered podcast like before,
where I tried to put many different things in, such as games, movies, gadgets, sound, music...
This was simply too much.
That's basically what I'm doing now with humaldoTV, only in compressed form and with video.
My new concept, "humaldo & friends!", Will be a personal podcast.
The idea is, I just meet with interesting people,
and we just talk about various things,
for example, they introduce themselves, explain what they are doing and the history behind it.
This will surely be super-oftopic at times.
In any case it will be interesting, because you'll never know what the actual outcome will be.
I'm really looking forward to that,
because it is again something new, which should be relatively easy to produce.
And also for the listeners, it will be quite interesting.
Where can the whole thing be found? podcast.humaldo.tv
podcast.humepage.at will also work, both addresses point to this feed.
There you can listen to the episodes and download them.
Of course, you can also subscribe on iTunes,
you can also listen to them on the cell phone, It looks like this,
"humaldo & friends!", and there are all the episodes.
As an additional bonus, I have also put all podcasts on this feed,
where I was a guest lately.
You can hear me at the Consol.at podcast, and at the old Breakfast at Manuspiel's podcast,
which has now become Insert Moin. And at Nerdkeller, of course.
All episodes, where I was a guest, now also are on this feed.
I would be very happy if you subscribe:
podcast.humaldo.tv
That's it! Enjoy the last few subtitles,
because this was the final episode with subtitles.
If you liked it, please like the video,
post 100,000 comments below
and of course subscribe to my channel,
so I'll have already 202 subscribers next time.
Thank you for watching, see you on Sunday at the live episode, and next week at episode 20!
Have a nice day and Ciao!
