How to talk to anyone (Part-2) | Communication Skills | Animated Book - Duration: 7:19.
In my video on how to talk to anyone, I had told you about the importance of communication
and social skills.
We discussed 5 important tricks which can make us good at conversation with anyone.
Similarly, today I am going to tell you another 5 tricks which can really help you in making
a conversation.
In case you have not watched my last video, you can check it out here or you can find
the link in the description below.
Hello Everyone, I am Divyanshu.
You are watching boost your brain and in this video, I am going to tell you about 5 more
tricks which can help while talking to anyone.
In case you have not subscribed to my channel, consider subscribing as I keep bringing videos
twice a week which can help you in your life.
Now, just to recall from previous video, those 5 tricks were:
1.
The Flooding Smile 2.
The Sticky Eyes 3.
Limit the Fidget 4.
Matching the mood 5.
Parroting So lets begin.
Trick no 6: Never the naked job, city or introduction When someone asks you where you are from or
what do you do, never give a one word answer or one liners.
Usually what happens is, when we meet someone new, this is how our conversation goes on:
Person 1: Hello Person 2: Hi
Person 1: Whats your name?
Person 2: My name is Divyanshu and you are? Person 1: I am Vaibhav.
Person 2: Nice Name! *silence*
Person 1: umm..Where do you live?
Person 2: Hinjewadi and you?
Person 1: Pimpri Person 2: Okay
*silence* And again an awkward silence.
They dont understand what else to talk about and then they try to somehow get out
of the situation.
So the next time when they meet each other, they try to avoid eye contacts as they might
have to talk again and that will be really awkward.
So if you want to avoid this, never give a one liners if someone asks you a question.
Think of really interesting answers for the common question like where do you live, what
do you do or your introductions.
You can google some facts about the place you live in and you can add it while answering,
example, I live in Hinjewadi, do you know most of IT companies are located in Hinjewadi.
I too am an IT employee.
I work at Infosys.
Now this kind of replies encourages the other person to talk to you more about things and
there wont be any awkward silence.
They will be looking forward to talk to you again.
Trick no 7: Modern Day Renaissance Man Theres this friend of mine named Suresh
who loves football.
He keeps talking about football all day long.
Whenever he gets a company, he talks about football, some historic matches and favourite
players, clubs etc.
Now many people arent really interested in football.
They feel suffocated in his presence, as a result they try to avoid talking to him.
Now I am sure you are able to relate to this.
Every person is different and they have their own likes and dislikes.
If you always keep talking about things you love, other person might not want to talk
to you.
Instead, ask the other person about their interests, listen to them carefully even if
that isnt something you are interested in and then tell them about yours.
We have the tendency of listening less and speaking more.
We must have at least a little knowledge about everything which we can gain if we listen
to other people.
That little knowledge can help you, like suppose you are making a deal and the person is interested
in Football, so if only you would have listened to Suresh patiently, you will be able to take
the conversation forward with him and who knows, you might end up making a good deal
with your client.
Trick no 8: Be a word detective There was this young lady named Nancy.
She was a good friend of author.
Nancy used to work in a nursing home where she used to take care of elderly people.
Once while talking to author, Nancy told her that she faces difficulty while relating to
elderly people.
She told the author about an old woman named Mrs Otis whom she finds really difficult to
talk to.
Like yesterday, she tried to initiate a conversation with Mrs Otis saying Its raining
heavily today, terrible, dont you think? To which Mrs Otis replied grumpily-Its
good for plants. Author smiled and asked Nancy to talk to Mrs
Otis again asking if she likes plants.
Initially Nancy resisted but later agreed to talk.
Next day Nancy called the author from her workplace.
She was happy and excited as she said-How did you know about plants?
Mrs Otis is talking continuously to me after I asked her about plants and she even told
me that her husband is a gardener.
I just cant shut her up now. Author said she knew this would happen.
Now what happens is, usually people slip out about things they like.
If you listen to their every word the other person says for clues, you will come to know
about things other person is interested in.
Once you are aware of it, you can start a conversation on that particular topic and
the person will keep talking to you for long and will love your company.
Trick no 9: Come out as a positive person Now some people believe that they should share
a secret, reveal an intimacy, or make a confession of sorts on the very first time they meet
a person.
This would make the other person trust them more and he/she will be closer.
Now let me tell you this, it happens only if someone above you in stature reveal their
secret to you or masses.
If your boss comes and tells you that he doesnt like Italian food, you would feel that your
boss is close to you which in turn will make you feel happy.
But, if you tell your boss that you dont like Italian food, he might not even care
of he might think negative about you since you are talking negative things.
So my point here is, always talk about positive things, especially when you meet someone new.
You can share negatives or your dislikes once the bonding between you and your new friend
gets stronger after a few days.
While meeting for the first time, lock your closet doors which has your negatives, dislikes
and insecurities.
Trick no 10: See no Bloopers, Hear no Bloopers We have been trained in such a way that we
quickly recognize if someone commits a mistake.
Most of us tend to laugh, talk or comment on it.
Some so called sensible people try to rectify their mistake by talking to them about it
politely.
It doesnt make the person feel any better.
Like, once I was in a restaurant for a coffee with my clients and managing directors.
Suddenly, not even six feet away, a waiter dropped a tray full of dishes.
Glasses broke, silverware clattered against the marble floor, and a hot baked potato rolled
under our table in a direct path for directors feet.
I felt sorry for the waiter, so did many people in the restaurant.
We heard a cacophony of Uh-oh, Whoops, watch it! Boy, thats his last lunch
here, and a variety of tittering and derisive laughter.
My Director, however, didnt miss a word of his monologue.
Not one big player at my table turned or blinked an eye.
It was as though nothing happened.
The point here is that the person who committed the mistake is already feeling guilty about
it, adding some expressive comments or consolations arent really going to help the person at
that time.
So we must practice to turn a blind eye to these bloopers as if nothing happened.
One thing to keep in mind that if you are with someone close like your spouse or kids,
you shouldnt practice this.
At that point you need to show care for them.
Now, since you are very close to them, they dont feel bad when you console them, instead
they feel loved.
But when its your colleagues or some new set of people, see no bloopers, hear no bloopers.
Big winners never gape at anothers gaffes.
So these were another 5 tricks which can be game changing when it comes to having a good
conversation with anyone.
Using these you can impress people in the very first time you meet them.
Now, to let you guys know, I have collected this information from a book named How
to talk to anyone.
If you want to know in detail, you can go ahead and purchase the book online using the
link in the description below.
Now this book has total 92 tricks and I have covered the 10 important ones.

tricks.

Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce: Abby Breaks up with Mike (Season 3, Episode 8) | Bravo - Duration: 2:34.
Let me just preface this by saying I understand
your situation, you know, with your ex and your kids.
And I know that it's really hard.
- Abby. - Really hard.
- I know you do. You've been great.
- You spent two nights at home, and that's concerning.
- Concerning? - Yeah, and never mind
the fact that you actually called it home.
Which is unsettling.
Um... - What should I have called it?
Colette's house? - I don't really, uh,
know what you should call it. And please don't be glib.
This is--I'm really serious about this.
- I can tell and...
I'm not being glib. - I don't even know
where you're at in your divorce.
Have you guys even filed? - We're in it.
W-we're taking a break, a short one,
just till things calm down.
- [laughs] Calm down.
Well, that--that can be a little bit of a wait.
- Can you back off a minute?
I just moved out. - No, you didn't.
You rented a box with a bathroom
where you can have pho with your girlfriend.
- That's not fair.
- No, it is not fair to either one of us.
Look, Mike, here in the weeds,
you know, it's crazy time.
When--when Jake left, somebody said to me
I should just write off the next year
because people going through a divorce are certifiable.
- For some people--not me. - Oh, really?
Because you--you disappear, you hide things from me.
Colette texts you, like, 20 times a day.
- These things take time. You know that.
- Yes, and when I was where you're at, I destroyed a man.
You know, Jake and I got back together and then we--
- Colette and I are over.
We're over.
Is that all this is about?
- All?
Jesus, Mike. Don't minimize this.
You don't even talk to me.
You don't tell me how you feel.
- I'm sad.
I'm so God damn sad.
- I know.
And I wanna help you and I wanna fix it.
And I can't.
You know, I just got out of crazy time.
And you're about to go through it and you--you can't not
go through crazy time-- - Abby, don't do this.
Don't spook. What you and I have is good.
- It's great.
It's rare.
And that's why we should stop.
Now.

MY FAVORITE PLACES ON EMPORIA STATE - Duration: 4:10.
ok so we are in Visser Hall this is the atrium and this is also part of the teachers college
if you are an education major you will be here a lot.
I happen to be an elementary education major and I have lots of classes in here.
This also happends to be one of my favorite spots on ESU because I just think thats its
a calm, cool place to study between classes after classes and even before class another
great thing about Visser Hall is that it has a nice resourse center up above here you can
kinda see it where the books are.
You will use this in some of your classes alright, so lets take a walk heres part of
Visser Hall and another cool part about it is that it has the National Teachers Hall
of Fame. and there is just kind of a tour of different settings of classrooms.
then I believe its not open right now but the National teachers Hall of Fame is right
in those doors.
Here is the sign for it.
Its usually open from eight to five pm if you ever want to visit it.
again thats at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
again we are going to go take another look at one of my favorite spots here and that
is the atrium.
again you will have a lot of classes in here it will become like your second home.
There it is alright and I hope that you can visit.
Alright so another one of my favorite spots on the ESU campus is the football field the
football field was reccently done I belive it was this year during the summer it was
put in with a gold track.
One of the reasons its my favorite is because I am part of the marching band here on campus.
We are the marching hornets and we spend many many many many hours out here practacing and
preforming, but mostly practicing to perfect every aspect of our show the dumbo tron was
also put in my freshman year so that would have been in 2014, so only a couple of years
ago.
So it has been redone quite a bit.
It is also my favorite spot because when its just a nice day out like today its spot to
just go relax with your friends and just walk around or play around on the football field
again you can do this before class, after class or in-between classes.
Going back to the marching band here is where we sit whenever were doing the pep band for
the football and its just really nice to like hear all of the screaming fans on the other
side getting really excited about our football team and our performances and what we do.
It really gives you a lot of energy and strength and just and its just really nice and it just
makes you want to come back here, because everytime you come back here you just get
that emotion again where it was just loud and crazy and you know that you did a good
job.
And you just want to keep coming back so again this is the football field on Emporia State
and again its one of my favorite spots on the Emporia State campus in Emporia, Kansas
alright and Go Hornets!!!

we said hey lets try this. This

interesting.> When he heard
