Waching daily Feb 3 2017

Hi everyone, it's Lily, and today I'm going

to be doing my TBR for Diversity

Bingo 2017. I do apologize if there is

some noise, there it is, outside my window

but I just can't film at any other time, so I

hope it's not too distracting and we

can just get through this and hopefully he stops soon.

So if you weren't aware Diversity

Bingo is basically this bingo sheet. It

basically has lots of challenges and

prompts to help diversify your reading, and

the point is to fill the sheet out by the end of 2017.

Now, I don't have a full TBR for a

couple of reasons, but i just want to

explain before i get into this.

First of all, I don't know if i'm going to

read 36 books this year, my goodreads goal is 35 and

that is because I go to University now. I read

70 books last year, but that was when I was on my gap year

and working and it was just a lot easier to

read because my life wasn't so taken up with

school. And whilst I am way ahead of schedule at

the moment, it's because i didn't really

have exams this January, and so I had a

couple of weeks off essentially, so I could

just do what I want, which was read. So

that's why I don't currently have a full

TBR, because I just don't know if I'm

actually gonna like read that many

books. Part of it is also just, for some of the

categories, there are some books that I am

interested in, but nothing's really grabbed me.Or

there are a few books i'm interested but I

decide. For the most part it is the latter. Also I'm

a uni student and I don't have a ton of money

to spare, and so a lot of books that fit

into these categories i would have to buy, and

I don't really have a great library in

my area and I don't also have a kindle

so i can't really get cheap ebooks either,

so it's just, it's hard

basically. So I'm basically just trying to

work through what I have. I do have

some books are not diverse on my

physical TBR, but I do have a lot of books that ARE diverse

on my physical TBR, but don't

necessarily fit into the challenges of

diversity bingo. So i will very much be

prioritizing diverse books, like i said

in my reading goals video this year, it's

just some of those books might not fit

into the diversity bingo categories, just

due to the way the categories are, and what

books i have on my physical TBR, and the fact

that i can't really afford to buy a lot

of new books all the time. Diversity Bingo is

influencing what i can buy at the moment and what

I do plan on buying with my sort of limited

funds. And so any books that I'm buying are

either fitting into diversity bingo or are diverse books.

There are one or two that I would like

but i'm really not prioritizing

them and I'm thinking I can get them at some

other point. So yeah that was just to explain

why I don't have a full TBR, why I might not

completely complete the diversity bingo

sheet. My aim is to fill in at least half of

the sheet, so to read books that fit into 18 of

the categories. I feel like that is like

a minimal goal, like if i don't do that i

will be really mad at myself and

hopefully i can actually do more than that.

So yeah like I said I just wanted to explain that to

you guys so let's get into the TBR. So

for romance with a trans main character

i'm looking to read If I Was Your Girl by

Meridith Russo. This is set in

Tennessee I believe and it is basically just a

contemporary novel about a young trans

girl who goes to a new school and I think there is

obviously a romance in this, which is why i picked

it for this category. I've heard really great things

about this, this book is also #ownvoices which is

fantastic and hopefully i will read this

soon as i have it with me at uni and i

also just really need something like

contemporary, I've been reading a lot of really

heavy adult books. So i will maybe be getting to

this soon. For underrepresented body type I'm

probably going to be reading Panther by

David Owen. This is a UKYA novel. It is

about a young boy called Derek. His sister

has depression. Not alot is really going

well in life for him at the moment, and he

starts to see this like black panther in his

London neighborhood, which is obviously

a bit odd and so he kind of wants to go after

this black panther and it's all about

him working through his problems. I've

not heard too much about this, it's definitely

an underhyped book. But the few things I

have heard about it are amazing and

I've met David and he's lovely

so I would really like to get to this.

For science fiction and fantasy with a main

character of color i'm probably going to

be reading Chasing the Stars by

Malorie Blackman. This is an Othello

retelling set in space which just sounds

really really cool. And Malorie Blackman

is a very well loved children's author over here,

and this book is also #ownvoices. For black main

character which his #ownvoices i'm

probably going to be reading The Hate U

Give which comes out in the US in

February and in the UK in

April. This is a book inspired by the #BlackLivesMatter

movement. It's had a lot of hype and I'm just

so excited to read it. I've heard nothing but

good things. For indignous main character

which is also #ownnvoices, I'm going to be

reading The Round House by Louise Erdrich.

This is a kind of crime/mystery/thriller

kind of book I believe. And the main

three characters are all indigenous people of the

United States. I believe it's set in the

Dakotas. And I can't remember which

people are native to that area but I will put it on

the screen when I've looked that up.

I'm so sorry! I'm really excited to

read this, i really want to read more

books by indigenous authors in the future. It's

something that I study quite a bit at uni,

and it's something I'm very very

interested in. In hearing indigenous history

and indigenous voices. So hopefully i

can do that in the future. For diverse non-

fiction i'm probably going to be reading

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. I really like

Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, like we

don't get it here i don't think, but I've watched

som of his clips on youtube and I think he's

really funny. I'm definitely probably

gonna be listening to this one on audiobook. I've

heard the audiobook is really good, there's

been a few reviews coming out recently

really praising it, so I'm definitely excited

to get to this one. For neurodiverse

main character which is #ownvoices I'm probably

going to be reading The State of Grace

by Rachael Lucas. This comes out in the UK in

April. I'm not sure if it has a US release date

but you can probably get it on book

depository. And this is about a girl who

is autistic and like I said it is

#ownvoices. I've talked to Rachael on

Twitter and she is so so lovely. I'm really

really excited. I think this is her YA

debut, I think she's written adult books before. But this

is her first YA. And it's just a contemporary

novel I think about Grace. I don't really

know the whole plot of it but i'm really

excited to read it. For Latinx main

character i'm probably going to be

reading When The Moon Was Ours by

Anna-Marie McLemore. I've really wanted to

read her books because they just sound great and they're

very very diverse. This is about a romance

between a queer girl i believe and a trans boy.

And it's got magical realism in it, and I

don't really know the plot of it but

everyone has been raving about it and

her books in general and I just really want to

read them. For retelling with an LGBTQIA+

main character, i'm probably going

to be reading Ash by Malinda Lo.

This is a Cinderella retelling, I've read the

prequel Huntress and really enjoyed it.

Apparently this one is very like dark and

whimsical it sounds amazing. I've heard really

great things from reviewers and I'm just

excited to get my hands on it eventually.

For LGBTQIA+ character of color I'm

probably going to be reading Under the Udala

Trees by Chinelo Okparanta. This is a book set

in Nigeria during the civil war in the

sixties i believe. And it's about a girl who,

basically a lot of stuff happens to her family during

the civil war and then she meets this girl and

she falls in love with this girl but that is

forbidden at the time. And also this girl is

from another ethnic group, which just

causes even more problems. I have started it,

i've read the first three chapters and I

just know I'm gonna love

it, but i'm not in the right mood so i think

i'm going to put this down for now and come

back to it. For biracial main character which is

#ownvoices i'm actually currently reading My

Name is Leon by Kit De Waal. This is

about a boy called Leon who is nine years old

and he has a little baby brother called

Jake. But his brother Jake is white,

Leon is mixed race and basically

they are forced to go into the foster car system.

Jake, because he is a white little

baby is adopted very easily, Leon is

not and it's basically about that. It's

kind of like a character study and I'm so

enjoying this so far. Even though I have the

physical copy I'm actually reading it on audio

book, it's narrated by Lenny Henry and

it's just so good.

And i'll let you guys know my thoughts soon.

So for deaf main character I'm going to be

reading A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara

Barnard. This is about a girl called Steffi who is

selectively mute and then she meets a boy

called Rhys I believe. And he is deaf so

he's the deaf main character and they basically form

a friendship, I think they also fall in love.

And I've heard really really good things about

this, i wasn't sure i was going to pick it

up because I wasn't the biggest fan of

Beautiful Broken Things, but people I really

trust have said really good things about

this. And it's very short and I think that this

will be a interesting read. I do want to

note just here that this book is

not #ownvoices. For bisexual main character which

is #ownvoices i'm probably going to be

reading How To Make A Wish by Ashley

Herring Blake. This is a YA contemporary

novel, I don't know too much about it.

I know that there's some stuff with a

mother-daughter relationship. And then

there's a romance with a biracial main

character and I'm just really excited

about this. The early reviews from lgbtqia+

reviewers have been really really great

and I'm just so excited to read it.

It just sounds so good, i believe that this book is

out in May. For person of colour on the

cover I'm going to be reading The Memory

of Love by Aminatta Forna. I just picked this up in a

charity shop, I've never heard of it, i

don't know anything about it like in

terms of reviews and stuff. But I believe

this book is set in Sierra Leone and it's about

three different men and their kind of

experiences. I really didn't know much

about the plot but i just think it's

really interesting and I really excited to

go into a book not knowing a whole lot about it.

For non-western real-life setting I'm

going to be reading Purple Hibiscus by

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I've read Americanah, I

really enjoyed it but i think this one's

gonna be more up my alley. This is about a 15 year

old girl who is from an abusive

household. And then due to circumstance she is

forced to move in with her aunt and

uncle. And she basically starts to see what sort

of like a family dynamic should be

like. And it is about the military coup in Nigeria,

this book is set in Nigeria, and so I'm just

really excited to read more of Chimimanda

Ngozi Adichie's work because I think she's fantastic. For book

by an author of color I've actually already read the book,

and it is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. This was on my

TBR but I've already read it.

This just is about two sisters called Effia and Esi

who are living in Ghana or what will be Ghana in

the 18th century. And one of them is sold

into slavery and one of them marries a slave

owner and it's basically about the

subsequent generations. It goes right

right from the 18th century in Ghana up to the

present day in the United States and

Ghana. And it's just so interesting and

it talks alot about like the effects of

colonialism and how slavery is still

affecting us in society today. As someone

who studies colonialism. I have been

studying recently in my course at

uni the effects of colonialism on

indigenous peoples and everything like

that, it's just it's a very interesting

book, it was very eye-opening and

thought provoking and I would really

recommend it. For Indian main character which is

#owvoices I'm going to be reading The

Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri. I don't know too

much about this book either. I just know it

is set in Calcutta. I believe it is

about two brother's. This has won various

prizes and it's sort of, its quite famous.

I hadn't really ... I'd seen it around but I don't

know too much about it. I'm excited to

just go in and just sort of learn what's it about.

For Central American setting I'm

going to be reading Signal to Noise by Sylvia

Moreno-Garcia. This is set in Mexico

I believe and it's a magical realism novel

that involves music. I think it's set

in the eighties or nineties, I might be wrong, if i'm

wrong i will put when it is set. And I heard a

really good review of this on mynameis-

-marines' channel, she said it was fantastic.

And I am just really excited to read a

book set in central America. I do

really want to read more books set in

Central and South America cuz I've

really read none.

For Immigrant/Refugee main character I'm probably going to be reading

Refugee Boy by Benjamin Zephaniah. It's kind of

in the title. It's about a boy who is from

Ethiopia, he goes on holiday to London

with his parents and then one day he wakes up in his

hotel room in London and his parents have gone

back to Ethiopia and left him in London

because of the political situation in

Ethiopia and he's then thrust into the

Refugee System in the UK and it's basically

all about his experience in the refugee

system. For displaced mian character I'm probably going to

be reading The Bone Sparrow by Zana Frallion.

This is an ARC copy that my friend Kalie

sent me. And this is about a boy called Subhi

who is in a, I think it's like a

refugee detention center in Australia.

And that's kind of all I know about it. I know it's got

magical realism in it and I've heard

amazing things. I know this book has been

endorsed... the amnesty international

basically has something to do with this

book. And it's very short and I've heard

the writing is beautiful and I'm

really excited to see what this book is

like. For contemporary world arranged

marriage I'm probably gonna be reading

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. This is

about two characters Dimple and Rishi

and I think they've been arranged by their

parents to get married and they meet on

this summer program and I've just heard it's

really cute and I'm just excited to read

it. I've never read about that kind of

situation before so I'm definitely interested

to see what this is like. For Hijabi main

character which is #ownvoices i'm going to be

reading Sofia Khan is Not Obiged by

Ayisha Malik. This is what has been

described to me as like Bridget Jones,

with a Muslim main character who's a blogger.

I've just heard it's absolutely hilarious

and it just sounds really great. I've

never read a book about a muslim main character

or a hijabi main character. So i'm very very

excited to read this, I've heard amazing things

from friends and I know that there is a sequel

coming out this year as well so I'd really

like to read this before that comes out.

I think i'm going to try and read this

in the next few months, it just sounds like

something really like lighthearted that I'd really

like to read soon. For my free choice i have

decided to read Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee.

Because i would really like to read a book

with a chinese-american protagonist.

I realized on this list that there were none so

I'm going to be reading this. It is a

historical fiction novel that follows

the oregon trail in like the mid-nineteenth

century, it's about two main characters

who have to dress up as boys i believe and go

on the Oregon Trail and I don't know too much

about it other than that. I just know that the main character

is a chinese-american and the other main

character is an escaped slave. So I'm really

excited to read a diverse historical

fiction novel. And finally for

practicing Jewish main character I want to read

Little and Lion by Brandy Colbert. I really

don't know too much about this book. I found it very recently

and so I don't really know what the plot of this book is.

I just know that it has Jewish

representation and I believe there is also

biracial and bisexual representation as

well which just sounds amazing and like a really diverse

book. It comes out sometimes this year I think, i'm

not sure of the date, I will put that on screen. I'm

really excited to read reviews of this and

just see what it's like.

Ok guys, so that was my TBR. I don't have

books on my TBR for West Asian setting,

non-binary main character which is

#ownvoices, science fiction and fantasy with

a disabled main character, Arab main

characters which is #ownvoices, main character with a

wheelchair, main character with n

invisible disability, visually impaired

main character, main character with

chronic pain, main character with an anaphylactic

allergy and pansexual main character

which is #ownvoices. If you have any

recommendations for those categories i

would love to hear them.

I have seen a few books that I'm sort of

thinking about but I would really love

for you guys to suggest me some because

i do want to fill out those squares with a

TBR if possible. So yea guys I hope you enjoyed this

video, I hope maybe you found some books that

you might want to read or use for

diversity bingo. Let me know again if you're

participating in diversity bingo, if you have

any recommendations for diverse books

for me, I'm always looking for more. I hope you guys are

all having a lovely day and I'll see you

soon in my next video. Bye!

Adwords IF Functions - Duration: 4:36.

good afternoon this is Thomas Green at

ethicalmarketingservice.co.uk today

this video is regarding AdWords if

functions this is a new feature which

has recently been introduced for the

search Network AdWords have said if

functions allow you to insert a specific

message in your text ad when a condition

has been met and a default text when it

has not

this makes your ads tailored to each

search and more relevant to potential

customers if functions only work for

ads shown on the search Network if

functions are parameters that go within

brackets kind of like dynamic keyword

insertion the parameter gets replaced by

the text that you specify when your ad

is triggered by a persons

search you can include if functions

anywhere in your text ad except the

final URL field so if you've been

you've ever had any coding experience

you'll be familiar with the if-else

statement its similar to this in

the sense that you can say if a certain

criteria is met

for example if the device is a mobile

device, then they will be showed this

particular text that you specify and if

it's not then they'll be shown a

different piece of text so if we go over

to see an example. just edit the ad

you generate you don't actually have to

get the raw code you can just if you

type in the curly bracket it gives you the

drop-down of whether you want to count

down ads, keyword insertion or an

if function you select the if function

the default is the device example that I

talked about previously and it says if

the device is a mobile you can type your

text in here so it might be user

friendly site or excuse me mobile

friendly website and if it's not it was

not a mobile device

I'll have my default text default ad

copy which I had previously which was google

certified partner so if the device is mobile

show mobile-friendly website and if

it's not show google certified partner

and that would work fine

the syntax which would be fine for an

if function i'm not going to save that

because this is just a dummy campaign

that I got, put live for this particular

example but the other examples that are

currently live are a particular audience

so in this particular instance

excuse me down here i believe it is so

this one says if the audience is in cart

abandoners then you would show a

better offer then you would if they were

just a normal normal list so you might

say something slightly different if they

were right at the end of their purchase

and they decided that they abandoned it

you might say something different than

if they were just a previous visitor of

your site so it is a cool little

function

which makes the ads more relevant

particulars of a particular device or

audience and i think it's it's worth

worth testing for sure so i hope this video

helped if you're interested in AdWords

management please visit us at

ethicalmarketingservice.co.uk and

please rate and subscribe thanks for

your time

5 Types Of People At Your Super Bowl Party - Duration: 3:29.

- [Both] The Super Bowl!

Woo! (cheering)

- Oo, oo, oo, oo! - Go team, go, go!

(upbeat music)

- Oh, football.

The great American, that's baseball, what?

(both laughing)

Oh, football, the big game.

- Except, it's not football like the rest of the world

thinks of football.

- Yeah, like we're the only ones who call this football.

- You don't actually use your feet.

- I mean you do, but like once,

like one person, is like, and they call him the kicker.

- Yeah.

- Punter, same thing, what?

(squeals)

And then so like we gather for like the biggest game

of them all, every year, and we like watch advertisements

on purpose, we're getting sold things,

and like we enjoy it, and then we all get drunk.

So, in preparation for the big game, we're gonna show you

five people that you will meet at your next

Super Bowl party.

- [Nikki] There's a person who always shows up to watch

the actual game.

They know who's playing, they're watching the score,

they're always shushing people,

they wanna fast-forward through the commercials, they made

bets on the game, they're kind of annoying.

- Way too serious.

- They were actually not that big, you know what I'm saying,

until they got the new quarterback, then the quarterback

came in and he like changed the whole game.

- [Evelyn] Then you have the hater.

This person's team did not make it into the Super Bowl,

and they're showing up to watch the Super Bowl just to

remind everybody else why their team should have been

in the Super Bowl.

- You mad, bruh?

It's what everybody says to this person.

- Y'all team bunch a braggadocious, pretty boys,

you know what I'm saying, but we play real ball, all right?

All day, every day, American game.

- [Nikki] There's the eater.

They show up to your party to eat all of your food

and don't bring any.

They brought Tupperware though.

They gotta make those to-go plates.

They'll be the first ones at the grill,

first in line for the drinks, first in line for seconds,

first in line for thirds.

- Just dipping, dip, dip, dip, dip.

- Where'd all the cakes go?

The eater.

Where'd all the hot dogs go?

The eater.

We ain't got any mo' chicken?

The eater.

Y'all got chicken wings?

Y'all never have chicken wings.

Then you have the person who shows up,

sixteen cases of beer, none for you.

Always whizzing around, talking to people

about stuff that ain't got nothing to do with the game.

Sit down somewhere!

(sipping)

- It's always weird being around the drunk.

(gasping)

- Hey!

Since you're up already, give me one.

A cold one!

- Then you have the person who shows up

to the Super Bowl party just to watch the halftime show.

They probably in the back room or the bathroom,

on their phone, on Instagram or something,

(clapping) but let the halftime show begin,

front and center, blocking your view, live-tweeting,

maybe they're on Facebook live, it's the only thing

they care about.

I have been waiting for this moment my whole life!

Hold on, let me live-stream, let me live-stream.

Hey Facebook!

Watch.

Yassss!!

Leotards come through!

- So, which one are you?

Did we get them all?

Let us know in the comments below.

- Give this video a like, share it with your favorite

football fan, and subscribe for more from us.

See you in the next one.

- [Both] Bye!

Hi everyone!

Today I'm painting a small portrait and showing you the watercolor set I use.

So, I painted a birthday card for my niece of her as a princess.

I searched for princess costume and Disney princess pictures for ideas.

Then I drew a postcard size portrait sketch using the grid method and a photo reference

of my niece.

Then I transferred the sketch onto watercolor paper using graphite transfer paper.

The watercolor set I use is Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor Pocket set and there are

12 half sized pans.

It's lasted me for quite a few years already.

And it's also convenient to take with you when traveling or painting outside.

There's also a little brush that came with the set and a lot of room for mixing paint.

You don't need to clean the palette after painting, by the way.

You can let the paint dry and dilute it again with a wet brush, when you want to use the

same color that you already mixed.

I started with the skin and mixed cadmium red, yellow ochre, white and a bit of burnt

umber for the skin tone.

I covered all skin areas with this color mix, using it as the lightest color.

But then I thought it turned out a little too dark compared to her actual complexion

so I lifted some of the paint with a wet, clean brush.

I went over the shadow parts with a darker version of the same color mix and for the

darkest shadows, I added a bit of blue into the mix.

I used the same layering technique for the hair and the background.

I painted burnt sienna as the base layer for the hair, left that color as a highlight and

then painted burnt umber and burnt umber mixed with ultramarine blue as the middle and the

darkest tones.

I finally added some stray hairs and the hairline using a small brush.

If you're interested in coloring some of my drawings, you can find the lineart printables

in my Etsy shop at ivylilyart.etsy.com.

Thanks for watching!
