The Mind Muscle Connection - Does It Actually Work? - Duration: 3:55.When lifting, we tend to focus on things such as maintaining good form, performing reps
at a certain speed, or looking at the mirror to see how big our guns are getting.
All these things are external, focusing on things on the outside.
But what about our internal focus?
The Mind-Muscle Connection.
A strategic phenomenon dictating the possibility of increasing neuromuscular drive by "flexing
the brain" to induce greater muscle gains.
When you lift, think of moving and feeling the one muscle that you are targeting.
For example, when you want to target the biceps in a bicep curl, focus your attention onto
the biceps brachii muscle and imagine only that one muscle doing all the work.
You can even flex it a little bit more during the movement to add emphasis.
By employing thought and intentional contraction, more of the power output is shifted from secondary
movers onto the focused muscle.
Well, at least that's the theory.
What do the studies actually say?
One study had subjects perform curl-ups while focusing on either their rectus abdominis
or oblique and found that greater activation coincided with whichever muscle they internally
focused.
If they were told to focus on the abs, the abs activated more.
If they were told to focus on the obliques, the obliques activated more.
Same goes with a study that found significant increases in peak EMG activity in the abs
during a squat, which is leg dominant, when the subjects were told to "brace yourself"
as if you were going to be punched in the stomach.
Another study found increases in glute activity along with decreases in hamstring activity
when young women were told to focus on the glute squeeze during a lying hip extension.
And the list goes on and on about increased activity of an internally focused muscle even
though sometimes that doesn't necessarily decrease the activity of secondary muscle
groups.
But yada yada yada, study this, study that, whatever.
Let's ask the important question: Does it give me more of dem sweet ol GAINZ.
Although there are no direct studies that link the mind-muscle phenomena to muscle hypertrophy,
increased activity certainly indicates that possibility.
One study observed different regions of the triceps brachii muscle while performing a
certain triceps extension exercise and noted that certain parts of the muscle had greater
activation than others.
Subjects were told to perform this same exercise for 12 weeks then measured the growth of the
muscle.
And with confirmation, the triceps muscle did in fact had greater muscle growth in the
areas with the greatest muscle activation.
They went ahead and tested other triceps exercises that had different degrees of activation and
found the same results.
Now whether this applies to all muscles remain to be seen, but for now, it's safe to say
that activation certainly can contribute to growth.
So, does that mean you should now employ a mind-muscle connection to all of your lifts?
Well, no, your focus should first and foremost be proper form, especially for beginners who
need a lot of form work to begin with and will see gains for doing pretty much anything
anyway.
And you need to consider the level of intensity as well.
As you lift closer to your maximal effort, the ability to focus on the mind-muscle connection
is overridden with the increased focus of just moving the darn weight in the first place.
If you're going heavy, forget mind-muscle connection and just move the weight.
But lucky for you, going heavy is usually an emphasis for improving strength anyway.
You want gainz right?
Well, then studies give you a big thumbs up as the greatest activation from internal focus
occurs at a moderate intensity aptly in line with the so-called hypertrophy range.
So, if you decide to deploy the magic of muscle-mind connection, make sure you get your proper
form first, AND don't go too heavy.
And go ahead and stop using your brain trying to decipher this video and use that brain
to deliver all them gainz.

{ENABLE CC} How to add cables to DP coon traps! - Duration: 5:29.Alright so I am making a video showing how I setup my Dog Proof Raccoon traps. Take a
piece of this aircraft cable (Any cable you prefer) not exactly sure what it is but I
take it and I cut it so it is 3 foot long. The length of the cable is a matter of preference
if you want your traps farther away from the tree then you go maybe 4 or 5 foot. I use
three foot myself. So then I am going to make my cable go through a double locking crimp
I get all of my supplies on F&T Trapping. So what I am doing is trying to make this
end as small as I can then I use my crimping tool. You could just pound with a hammer and
it would work the same. All I do is just clamp it down and let go and it bends it very nice.
So what I do it get my trap and a J Hook what I do is I take the little end and put it inside
the J hook and get a tool that allows me to bend the J hook. Now I bend the J hook so
there is no way the chain can get out. On to the other end, now what you do is take
it and feed it through both sides then make that loop the size of the trap while the trap
is not set off. Then I take my crimping tool and crimp this mental as well. Now we have
our finished Raccoon trap! So let me do one more. Take your cable in your choice of length
take the clamp and put it through. Make this loop very small and you don't want a lot sticking
out on the end. Thats that end done. Same thing with the other end except for this one
has to be bigger. About the size of your unset trap. Crimp
that end down take your trap and a j hook put that around the small loop you made. Then
bend that j hook so nothing can get out.

Scandal 6x02 Sneak Peek "Hardball" (HD) Season 6 Episode 2 Sneak Peek - Duration: 0:29.Jennifer: It was Cyrus Beene.
He killed Frankie Vargas.
It's the only voicemail
that went missing from the FBI tip line.
Less than a day later,
her cabin exploded.
Liv, you were with me in the hospital
the night of the assassination.
You saw Cyrus.
You saw how grief-stricken he was.
Just because he killed Frankie
doesn't mean he didn't feel bad about it.
We have a suspect in custody.
Nelson McClintock? Nelson McClintock is a patsy.
The evidence against him is overwhelming.
Really? Then why haven't you charged him yet, David?
Has he confessed? Has he?
We're still working on it.
Of course you are, because he's innocent!
What else do you want me to do, Liv?
I sent the FBI out to the cabin.
There was no evidence.
You sent a couple of scrubs out there!
Actually, he sent the director.
And I brought an elite ERT unit with me.
We've been out there for the past 15 hours.
-Director Webster. -Olivia.
I didn't know. I didn't mean any offense, obviously.
Is it obvious?
Fitz: Have you found anything at that cabin
to tie this woman's death to Cyrus Beene?
No, Mr. President.
And based on what you've seen,
do you consider Cyrus Beene a suspect
in the assassination of Frankie Vargas?
No, Mr. President.
But you're not done looking.
-Yes, she is! -Mr. President --
I am not investigating Cyrus Beene
based on a tip line
and a blown-up cabin in the woods.
I'm not.

Commodore 128 Complete Restoration and Board Repair. - Duration: 16:37.I picked up this Commodore 128 and disk drive on Craigslist for $30.
The poor thing is in really rough shape.
In fact, I think it's the worst I've ever seen.
The whole thing is yellowed, and you can clearly see it is from UV exposure because you can
see the original color hiding in the shadow of the keys.
But the amount of dirt and grime is just amazing.
Part of this is due to being in storage for years, according to the seller.
And, unfortunately, a key is broken off.
I do have the key, so I'll see what I can do about that.
The 1571 disk drive doesn't look any better.
I don't know if either of these items even work.
So, really, I felt like the first thing I should do is test them.
I plugged in the power and connected up the disk drive and monitor.
So, half afraid something was going to pop and start smoking, I turned on the disk drive.
It did spin up and the power light came on.
That's a good sign.
Now time for the computer.
Well, the computer seems to be completely dead.
In fact, the power light doesn't even light up.
I wanted to test the power supply, so I decided to bring out my good, working Commodore 128
to test it.
It does appear to turn on and work just fine, so I think we can assume the power supply
is good.
Next I wanted to test the disk drive, so I put in an Ultima 5 disk and rebooted.
Interestingly enough, I could hear the drive clicking away; the activity light never flashed
at all.
Eventually the game sprang to life.
So the disk drive appears to be working, except for the activity light.
By the way, here's what the two 128s look like next to each other.
Well, I decided it was time to get to work disassembling this thing.
The Commodore 128, much like other Commodore machines from the era, is very easy to disassemble.
Just a few screws and you are inside the case.
The inside is covered in dust and dustbunnies, but not as bad as I would have thought.
I'll have to take off this RF shield, which also doubles as a heat-sink for the various
integrated circuits.
There's also a separate shield for the two video chips.
You heard me right, this computer has dual video systems, one for 40 columns, and one
for 80 columns.
So here's what the logic board looks like.
It is a little dirty, but otherwise in pretty good shape.
Next I took the board out of the computer.
And the last thing was to remove the keyboard out of the top case piece.
This is pretty easy too.
I noticed when I removed it that the whole keyboard frame was bent.
Apparently somebody put something very heavy on top of this thing.
I really wanted to diagnose what was wrong with this thing before I went any further
on the restoration.
Oddly enough, I plugged the LED back in and noticed that it does indeed light up now.
So either it was connected in backwards or maybe just wasn't making good contact before?
So the next thing I wanted to do was test the voltage on the board.
According to the user's manual, I should be able to find ground and +5 Volts on the cassette
interface here.
So I touched the leads to the traces, and I got a nice reading of almost exactly 5 Volts,
so I think we are good there.
The next thing I did was just to re-seat all of the socketed chips.
I always advise people to do this when they email me about a dead computer.
I usually don't even pull the chips all of the way out, I just work them about half way
out and press them back down.
It is surprising how often this can fix issues with old computers.
However, I tested again, and it still didn't boot.
I decided to remove the silicon grease.
It looked old anyway so I'll put some fresh grease on before I'm done.
Somebody really went overboard on these video chips.
So the next trick is to remove some of the unnecessary chips.
For example, the computer will still boot without the sound chip.
granted, it won't have any sound, but the chip is not required for booting.
Well, that didn't work.
Next I tried taking out these ROM chips.
I think one of these is required, but the computer will usually display at least something
on the screen without the others.
So I just tried removing them one at a time.
Well, that also failed to fix it.
I also tried a game cartridge.
Sometimes these machines will boot with a cartridge even when they won't boot to BASIC,
however, it was still dead.
So the next step was to grab my working 128 and take it apart.
The idea here is to take each chip one at a time from the bad unit, and try putting
it in the good unit.
This way I could verify which chips were good and which were bad.
However, it turned out that all of the chips that I could remove were good.
So I have verified all of these chips are good.
So at this point, the main suspects are going to be narrowed down to a bad RAM chip, or
maybe one of the CPUs is bad.
And yes, this machine has two CPUs, a Z80 and a 6502-compatible CPU.
Both are required for the computer to boot.
However, all of these chips are soldered in.
It also could be any one of these smaller supporting chips.
It would be quite a chore to desolder these one by one and test them.
I also haven't ruled out for sure that these capacitors aren't the problem.
Still, at this point, I knew I was going to need some help diagnosing this board.
So in the meantime, I turned my attention to the plastics.
So the first thing I did was hose them down.
This didn't remove nearly as much crud as I had hoped, but it at least cleaned inside
the air vent grilles really well.
I followed that up with some old fashioned Windex and managed to scrub off 95% of the
remaining dirt and grime.
You know, a lot of people give up at this stage, but this is really just the beginning
for me.
I always come back with alcohol and do some serious scrubbing.
This will remove the vast majority of black scuffs, paint, or permanent marker.
And, while this portion of the cleaning accounts for about 5% of the total cleaning, it is
actually the hardest and longest part.
I usually spend about 30 minutes scrubbing every little imperfection I can find until
it is flawless.
I did encounter this really stubborn area on the bottom of the computer, so I had to
try one more thing, baking soda.
I just put some on a wet paper towel and scrub with it.
This stuff works like a mild abraisive and it will clean off just about anything, but
it does remove a small layer of plastic.
And, it's kind of messy so you have to clean it off afterwords.
But you can see the result and it worked really well.
So here are the case pieces after I finished cleaning them.
You can already see a remarkable improvement, but they are still yellow so we'll have to
come back to that problem shortly.
Next I turned my attention to the disk drive.
I disassembled the drive.
It is also very easy to take apart, there are no hidden snaps or anything special you
need to know.
Basically did all of the exact same cleaning procedures on the plastics here.
Next I turned my attention to the biggest eye sore of this computer, that's the keyboard.
Besides being filthy, it is also the most yellowed component.
So first things first, time to pop off the keys.
You have to be delicate removing these because it is possible to break them if you have too
much sideways motion or bending.
But after you get the first few off, it starts to go faster.
Before I knew it, I had all of the keys off.
But look how gross it was under those keys.
The first thing I did was just use the vacuum cleaner.
That actually made about a 50% improvement right away.
Then I followed that up with some windex and a paper towel.
I used a piece of wood as a fulcrum point and bent the keyboard frame back to the correct
shape, and here is the finished product.
The keys are an entirely different matter.
I rinsed them in the sink, cleaning all 5 sides of each and every key.
This is a laborous process, expect to spend at least 20 minutes doing this.
There were 3 keys that had what appeared to be marker residue on them, so I had to follow
that up with some alcohol, fortunately with some scrubbing, I was able to clear that right
up.
OK, next it was time for the retrobriting.
Most of my viewers have seen me do this before.
But for those that haven't, I use a strong hydrogen peroxide cream.
I brush it onto the plastic wrap, and then brush it onto the keys trying to get every
surface.
And then, I do the same thing with the case pieces.
Then I sit them out in the sun.
Ideally, you want to come back and rotate these pieces every 30 minutes or so.
I usually massage the cream around under the plastics as well in order to try to get a
more even appearance.
So for those who are still wondering if this is a permanent fix for yellowed plastics.
Well, I wanted to show you this Apple IIc that I did the retrobrite to about a year
ago.
This thing was extremely yellow and it still looks pretty darned good, although admittedly,
if you look really close, and you probably can't even see it on camera because it is
very faint, but there is a very faint hint of yellowing right in this spot right there.
And it wouldn't be a big deal to fix, but considering how bad this thing looked before,
and considering a year later it still looks pretty good.
I think the process is pretty reliable.
I used an old drive cleaning diskette.
I don't have the cleaning solution anymore, so I just used some alcohol.
I made a little mess.
Anyway, I just stuck it in there and tried to load something from disk so that it would
spin the motor.
Interestingly enough, when I re-assembeld the disk drive, both LEDs were working.
When re-installing the keys.
I always start with the big keys first since they're a little tougher to put on and it
is easier when the other keys aren't in the way.
It's always fun watching the keyboard take shape as I randomly re-assemble all of the
keys.
And of course, we can't forget the most important key, the Commodore key.
I wanted to fix these broken keys and I kept looking at this trying to figure out what
was in there.
After a while I determined this must have been chewing gum.
Somebody apparently thought that was an appropriate way to keep the key on.
Well, with it being broken like that, the key certainly won't stay on by itself.
So I just used a few dabs of super glue and that seemed to fix that up.
Unfortunately, I discovered these rubber feet had become very sticky.
They were sticking to everything I sat the computer on.
This is usually a result of heat exposure.
Fortunately, I found these replacement feet at the hardware store.
And while the color is different, they actually fit perfectly.
Now it has 4 brand new rubber feet.
Remember that comparison I made earlier where I showed the two 128s… well look at them
now.
They are virtually identical.
Now that the restoration is done, it was time to turn my attention back to the repair issue.
Alright.
So I'm on my way to get some help.
You know, no matter who you are in this world, no matter how smart you are, there is always
somebody smarter than you.
Which, in my case is good because sometimes I need some help.
So, you know, I'm kind of like the guy on WarGames.
You know, we share the same name.
His name is David and my name is David.
And he has somebody smarter than him that he has to go see to help him out.
Heck, you might even compare it to Star Wars.
So I might be like Obi-Wan Kenobi, you know I'm pretty good when it comes to these old
computers but you know Yoda is always better.
So I'm going to see Yoda, although his name is actually Raymond.
And hopefully, he can help me out with my problem.
Raymond must really be a Jedi Master, because it actually gave him a display, even though
it was garbled.
He got to work using some of his magic tools.
The data bus is not coming up properly.
Data bus line D3 is just all garbled.
So, we're going to take out the CPU and check that out.
Having the right tools makes the job much easier.
You just put it on, let it melt the solder, push the button, wiggle the tip back and forth,
to make sure you pull all of the solder out from around the pin.
Alright, if you do this right, the chip should just lift right out.
Now, we're going to socket this one.
But, in doing the sockets, there's difference, there's a single-wipe and a double-wipe
socket that you could use.
And what you want to use is the double-wipe.
The difference is, is that the single wipe you can see there is no contact here on the
outside edge.
It's only contacting the inner edge of the chip pin.
Where as on the double-wipe it's contacting it on both sides.
So, use double-wipes, there not much more expensive than single wipes.
Lot better contact, lot better life.
We still have a problem on data bus line D3.
Something is screwing around with the bus, so we're going to have to trouble shoot
a little further to find out where everything is connected and figure out which chip is
causing the problem on this.
Alright, so we have connectivity on all of the data lines up here and down through here
and here on this board.
On this side of the board.
And down here we have continuity.
But we don't have continuity between this side of the board and this.
And we've narrowed it down to, there's a little bit of corrosion down here under
this socket.
So I'm going to remove this socket off the board, you'll get a better picture of it.
After he removed the socket, you could clearly see the corrosion.
He cleaned it off with some goo-gone, and now you can see the 3 traces that are affected.
Interestingly enough, 2 of these were still making contact, but he decided to patch all
3 because it is only a matter of time before contact is lost on the other two.
And what I'm going to use is, on the back side of the board I'm going to use some
30 gauge kynar wire-wrap wire to run the patches.
So I'm going to install a new socket here and then I'm going to flip it over and run
all of the trace jumpers.
so here are the finished jumper wires on the back of the board.
So when you take these chips out and you desolder them, the legs end up all bent up, so if you
have a pair of duck-billed pliers, small ones so you can get them in there, and you can
use these to straighten the chip leads out and make them nice and straight again to go
in the sockets.
Alright, now for the smoke test.
There we go!
So before re-assembling, I added fresh heat sync compound to the RF shields.
Although the Commodore machines can run without any heat sync, it will improve the longevity
of the chips if you keep them cool.
And considering these chips are getting more scarce by the day, it would be good to protect
them.
After putting the shield on, I just double checked that all of the chips were making
contact with the shield.
So this computer is now essentially fully operational, with the exception of the TAB
key, which I was not able to get working, even though it does at least cosmetically
look nice.
And it's really not a big deal because the TAB key is almost never used on the Commodore
128.
It's kind of like the scroll-lock key on your modern PC.
It's just not a necessary key, so I'm just not going to worry about fixing it.
So there were a lot of neat things I wanted to show you about the Commodore 128 and this
disk drive, as a matter of fact.
But, the video is already starting to get kind of long, and there's a lot of stuff
I wanted to cover, so I just decided to save that for a future episode.
I also wanted to bring your attention to the fact that I do have the CD soundtrack now
available.
This contains most of the music that you've heard either on the background of this channel,
or the music that I've composed on my other channel, 8-Bit Keys.
You can buy this on my website, I'll put a link down in the description.
This is not a burned copy, by the way, this is the real thing.
This has been pressed.
And I'm also paying royalties to the musicians that have submitted these songs to me.
So you are also not only supporting my channel, but you are supporting those musicians as
well.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this episode, I've got another restoration video that's going
to be coming out on a Macintosh in just a few days that I think you're going to like
just as much as this one.
So, stick around!

Justice Lee Jung-mi leads impeachment trial as interim chief justice - Duration: 2:28.Moving to Korea's Constitutional Court where the impeachment trial of President Park Geun-hye
is ongoing...
The justices have picked a new leader after the former chief justice's term came to an
end.
The trial is proceeding with the eight remaining judges.
At Wednesday's hearing,... three current and former senior presidential office officials
were hauled in to testify.
Kim Ji-yeon has more.
The tenth hearing in the impeachment trial of President Park Geun-hye was led by the
Constitutional Court's interim Chief Justice Lee Jung-mi.
This is Lee's second time serving in the interim chief position, since 2013.
"I will lead the court with a sense of responsibility and fairness during her case, which is destined
to have historic and constitutional significance."
Justice Lee's term will expire on March 13th, and until then, eight Constitutional Court
justices, instead of the usual nine,... will deliberate on President Park's fate.
If six of the eight justices vote in favor of the impeachment motion, it to be upheld.
During the tenth hearing...
Kim Kyou-hyun , the chief presidential secretary for foreign affairs and security addressed
the question of the president's whereabouts during the Sewol-ho ferry incident in 2014.
Kim said he didn't think the president's instructions would have changed, had she been at the presidential
office instead of her residence, as her lawyers have claimed.
In response to questions about President Park's longtime confidante, Choi Soon-sil,... Kim
denied Choi could have used her ties to the president to influence the creation of documents
related to foreign affairs or security.
Yoo Min-bong , the former senior presidential secretary for state affairs planning,... also
attended the hearing.
He denied the possibility that Choi could have made drastic modifications to the president's
speeches... because if there's a policy change, the document needs to be redrafted by the
top office through an extensive vetting process.
Another witness was Mo Chul-min..., Seoul's ambassador to France and former senior presidential
secretary for education and culture,... who recalled that he was surprised when the president
ordered the removal of two culture ministry officials from their posts,... and calling
them by name saying they lacked the will to root out corruption in the sports sector.
"The hearing for presidential secretary for public relations Ahn Bong-geun is scheduled
to take place on February 14th.
Kim Ji-yeon, Arirang News."

What exactly is the Fem Card? | Inside Workin' Moms Episode 3 - Duration: 3:35.Part of the process of making the show for me was
taking a real hard look at what I've gone through as a woman.
Seriously? How has playing the card ever helped?
What card?
You know the card. We've all played the card.
So the "Fem Card" is basically the card you play
when you want something done for you.
And men love to feel like they're helping you and this is how you do it.
As I got older, I realize that I'm perfectly capable of doing a lot of these things myself,
and that there was a joy, and a pleasure, and a pride to learning those things on your own.
I started to identify what that method was.
And it became funny to me that all these people were doing it.
These four very different characters all access it in different ways.
I gotta go but sorry just to be really clear: There's no virus I need to be worried about?
No. No virus.
Nothing here but…
a silly jokester.
I think Jenny definitely uses the "Fem Card."
I think Anne looks horribly down on the "Fem Card."
Frankie has no idea what the "Fem Card" even is.
Which the innocence of that
and the beauty of that makes me so happy.
Jesus lady! I just said I was discrete.
What? Have you got tampons in your ears?
Excuse me?
So Kate's in this tough spot with James,
who is clearly being derogatory and a misogynist.
Kate has to do everything in her power not to lose him as a client.
It's a challenge so many ambitious women face.
When do I fight? And when do I let it go?
I think Kate finds herself wanting to be one of the guys.
And that's something I definitely struggle with in my own life
where I just want to be able to say things like it is.
I am lacking a little bit of grace. And having to
tap into her compassion as oppose to speak like one of the guys
is something she deals with throughout the season.
But in episode three, it's something we really see come to the surface.
Frankie!
Frankie, what the hell?
So Frankie falling asleep in the tub
can be interpreted in many different ways.
For me as a writer, is it a woman exhausted in warm water?
Is it a woman who is dancing with the dark?
who's feeling a lot of postpartum depression
and wants to feel what it is to slip away for a second.
I don't think in any stretch of the imagination
Frankie wants to put her daughter in harm's way.
I think she loves her kid, and she loves her partner.
I think the question is whether she loves herself enough
to get through this part of her life.
I don't think that makes her an irresponsible parent.
I think that makes her human.
Both of you, go! I got this.
- Thank you, Eleanor. You're okay watching Ollie, right? - Who's Ollie?
My dog, Mom. Of 16 years.
Hiring a family member
to watch your child is complicated.
You can't speak to them the way you would someone you're hiring specifically for a job.
And if you do, there's usually some consequences to that.
You always got your sh*t together, man. You're like a cop!
I know it looks like that. It doesn't feel like that.
I don't know, it feels like I'm faking it.
I get that.
The Princess party scene. The character of Kate
is dealing with tapping into her soft side.
She learns by the end of the episode when she helps Frankie
that, in fact, accessing that more vulnerable side
makes her stronger, ultimately.

U.S. defense chief James Mattis heads to Seoul - Duration: 1:17.U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis is due in Seoul this afternoon,... for what will
be his first overseas trip since taking office.
This is in contrast with the former Obama administration that chose the Middle East
as its first foreign stop.
It's widely expected... that the new Pentagon chief will deliver a clear message regarding
Trump administration's security policies and North Korea's continued military threats.
"We understand the trip reflects the strong South Korea-U.S. alliance as well as Washington's
reassurance on its defense pledges for Seoul."
[ / : .]
Later today,... Mattis is set to meet Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn...
and national security office chief Kim Kwan-jin.
On Friday morning, the first defense minister talks between the two countries under the
Trump administration will be held between Mattis and Seoul's defense chief Han Min-koo.
While eyes are focused on what results the talks will bear,... the two allies earlier
agreed upon pushing ahead with the planned THAAD missile defense system deployment on
the Korean peninsula.
They're also expected to discuss the U.S. sending various military assets to South Korea.

OFFICER IN QUESTION.
AFTER THE MEETING STARTED ABOUT
ONE HOUR AGO SHE RESIGNED AS HER
POSITION AS MAYOR, BUT NOT AS
HER POSITION AS COMMISSIONER.
RIGHT NOW THEY'RE LISTENING TO
ALL THE COMMENTS ABOUT HER
CHARACTER.
PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT WHY
THEY THINK SHE SHOULD STAY ON
THE COMMISSION SEAT AND NOT HAVE
TO BE FORCED OUT, ESPECIALLY
SINCE SHE HAS APOLOGIZED.
WE'RE ALSO TOLD ONE OF THE
COMMISSIONERS CALLED FOR A
MOTION TO HIRE AN INDEPENDENT
INVESTIGATOR TO DETERMINE IF
COMMENTS SHE MADE VIOLATED
PERSONNEL POLICY WHEN SHE CALLED
FOR THAT MOTION THERE WAS AN
UPROAR INSIDE THE COMMISSION
MEETING.
THAT IS WHEN THEY STARTED TAKING
PUBLIC COMMENTS BECAUSE THEY
COULD NOT MOVE ON WITH THAT
MOTION UNTIL THEY HEARD FROM THE
PUBLIC.
WHILE WE WERE IN THERE WITH HER
ABOUT MAYBE A DOZEN OR SO PEOPLE
TALKING IN FAVOR OF HER, ASKING
THE COMMISSION TO MOVE ON.
SHE HAS APOLOGIZED, REMOVED
HERSELF AS MAYOR, TO MOVE ON

Triathlon Taren Day in the Life Announcement - Duration: 8:00.Hey what's up triathletes, Taren here.
That one and that one.
Stick around because today we are changing the entire YouTube triathlon channel up.
You're going to want to know why.
If you've been a fan of triathlon Taren, A, thank you very much, and B, you may have heard
over the last couple of months that I've been thinking about rolling out a bit of a vlog
style.
A bit of a triathlon training day in the life of triathlon Taren.
In talking to a lot of you over the last little while, I've found out that i think we've got
a really good formula.
Today, as in tomorrow, February 1st, 2017, because today is last day in January.
In vlog terms I got to start thinking a day forward.
Always going to be living in the future.
I want to announce what's happening.
That's right.
February 1st, 2017 is going to be the very first Triathlon Taren daily vlog.
We're not saying goodbye to this set up, we're just saying that things are going to change
a little bit.
I'm going to tell you why.
Let's go over here, get a little bit more intimate with things.
There we go.
Crispy as ... Okay, so yeah.
We are turning Triathlon Taren into a daily vlog.
Now a lot of the feedback that I got early on was, "No, we still want triathlon tips."
I'm here to assure you that you're still going to get triathlon tips, and if anything you're
going to get more.
That's the idea with going daily here.
What I was finding is that the brick background, as beautiful a brick background as it is,
it was kind of impersonal and I wasn't able to give tips on things that just kind of came
up in the comment section, or questions that I would get on Instagram.
I would only be able to do videos on things that were like big, long five, ten tip productions.
I couldn't just kind of talk about the day to day triathlon-ism's, and because I was
only doing two videos a week I couldn't put out the amount of volume that everyone was
asking for.
There were so many questions that I couldn't get to them.
What's it's going to be is every single day you'll follow me through my triathlon training.
You'll be in the workout, and we're going to tell you what that workout is so that if
you don't have a coach, you get a workout that day and you can follow along and do the
workout with me.
You get a training plan.
Later on in the vlog each day, I'll walk through why that workout was the way it was so that
you're also getting tips.
Then as things pop up, injuries, new workout methods, things that I learn, in some cases
special guests.
I'm starting to get requests from companies asking me to do tours of their factory, interviews
with pro-triathletes that have been reaching out to me, all of this can come later in the
vlog.
Every single day you're going to be able to get a little tid bit of training, a workout
that you can do, and a little bit of a triathlon tip, something about the triathlon lifestyle.
There's still going to be unboxings, there's going to be reviews, there's going to be interviews,
there's going to be tips, there's going to be all kinds of good triathlon stuff, not
just following me around watching me eat salad and drink coffee.
Okay, so for today we're going to do an unboxing, because I got a new set of shoes.
Hang on, hang on.
Yep, yep, yep.
They're two big boxes that just came, and I think I know what's in them.
Actually I can guarantee I know what's in them.
I don't know what color though.
We have here the sketchers performance, Los Angeles mara- no.
Title sponsor of the Los Angeles marathon.
Okay, which one are these?
In here, I believe also from Sketchers, more Sketchers.
More Sketchers.
Now that's spicy.
What we've got here, this is the GOmeb.
This is more of like a racing flat, super light.
The GoRun 5.
That looks like kind of in between a racing flat and a big built up trainer.
This is the GOmeb Razor.
I really like the colors of that one and that one.
I think we're going to go give this one a try right now, TempoRun.
Let's do it.
That's how good your parking spot is when you ride your bike to work in Winnipeg and
look like this in the Winter.
We got some mail from Sketchers.
Taren, Hi.
Hi.
So great that we have connected with you and thank you for the opportunity to share our
performance shoes with you.
I hope you love them and they help you run super fast.
I'm about to, Sketchers.
Another pair are on their way.
Already got them.
Just thought to send these first, enjoy.
Kaitlin.
I will.
If you're from Canada, check out Sketchers performance Canada on Instagram, at Sketchers
Performance Canada.
Twitter is @SketchersPerfCan.
You know you're perf, Can.
All right, run time.
All right, run over.
Two things that I need to know.
Number one, these are officially called the Sketchers Gomeb speed two.
This is their most aggressive racing flat.
First impressions, sizing is bang on.
They're really stiff when I'm just walking, but they're made to go fast.
These things are nice, light, and one you start moving ... I was a big fan.
Second thing, that workout was a tempo workout in the middle of the week.
While we get shorter workouts in, we do speed work.
What we did there was two miles at whatever warmup pace is, and then three times one mile
at tempo pace, with a two minute rest in between those.
Tempo pace is like a little bit slower than 10K race pace, and in my case I'm training
for a half iron man.
That's like right in between 10K race pace, half iron man, half marathon kind of pace.
During the middle of the week while these runs are shorter, we do them a little bit
faster.
Keep the legs quick.
They're fast.
I'm going to end vlog number one like that today.
See ya.

Gov't to support rapidly-growing service sector with extra R&D investment - Duration: 2:21.Moving now to some welcome news on the nation's trade front.
Korea's exports in January posted double-digit growth for the first time in four years.
The government is keen to keep the momentum going,... announcing new support measures.
Shin Se-min reports.
A surprise improvement on Korea's export front,... for the first time in 33-months... exports
have expanded for three straight months.
It's also the first time in four years that Korea's outbound shipments have logged double-digit
growth.
Exports rose 11-point-2 percent in January from last year… on the back of better sales
of semiconductors and petrochemicals.
Shipments rose to over 40-point-3 billion U.S. dollars last month, up from the 36-billion
tallied a year ago.
Imports, too, grew... posting an 18-point-6 percent rise on-year, bringing the country's
trade surplus to 3-point-2 billion dollars,... the 60th consecutive month with a surplus
on record.
Speaking about this rebound on the trade front in a meeting on Wednesday, Finance Minister
attributed the recovery momentum to a boost in facilities investment.
He also promised to help uphold the robust figures.
"For local firms doing business overseas, the government will put all-out efforts to
help them continue to win more contracts and solidify their position in the global market.
Also during the meeting, Minister Yoo unfolded the government's plan to boost the country's
service sector,... doubling its spending on research and development to some 4-billion
U.S. dollars over the next five years.
And with the advent of the fourth industrial revolution,... the government says it will
work to utilize new growth engines, like the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence,...
and boost productivity in the manufacturing industry.
This plan, could in turn, work to reduce Korea's reliance on the manufacturing sector, long
considered the engine for growth, and place more weight on the country's service sector.
With this, the government said it hopes to boost its ratio of R&D investment in the service
sector from the 8-point-6 percent logged last year to 13 percent by 2021.
Shin Se-min, Arirang News.
