Waching daily Feb 3 2017

So last night the greenhouse didn't just collapse it it blew away.

It was really windy.

It's been catching a lot of wind at the side of the building.

Fortunately it happened, it was about half past nine

so me and Trevor were both in we heard a mighty crash and came out and the greenhouse was

like blown over here and there's like a communal parking area so luckily we were able to grab

it before it went into where the cars are.

I had reglazed it a lot with the poly carbonate but the, recently a lot of those had popped

out so they weren't actually in and most of the glass was roof so I think the wind had

gotten in underneath.

I'm really annoyed that I left the glass in the roof, I thought it would help anchor it

down but the reason I put the polycarbonate in was the smashed glass last year getting

everywhere.

So, so there's not really any overhead lighting out here.

So Trevor had his camping torch on and we went over the car park area because

there was lots of shards of glass.

I don't think that I will re umm put another greenhouse up because there's just not any,

any space for it to go.

And this is the spot where it was, I think it might make a nice flower bed

or you know the grass has already been trying to reclaim it.

There's some glass that we didn't get last night but this is kind of out of the way,

but we're just having a go at this now.

Again, that's why I'm so annoyed because we're just dealing with the broken glass area.

Anyway, my plan now is to just get it in the skip and uhh I think it's had it, hasn't it

really.

It's not done very well from the very beginning and you can see how bent up the frame is.

I don't think a bot of gorilla tape and wood is going to help it now.

I'm just about ready to get my seeds in as well so that's kind of annoying, I'm going

to get as much as I can, well it's probably a few weeks but it's the potato day tomorrow.

There is one at Montford Bridge by Shropshire Organic Gardeners and if you're local there

is also one at Harper Adams on Sunday which I did a video for last year.

So I'll link those both below I was going to get my seeds and things from

there and then look at putting them in but really I've got a few weeks yet to do that.

I think I can start stuff on the windowsill and may be get a cold frame outside rather

than having a big structure.

There just isn't really room for it like this area where the greenhouse is now is actually

the car park and the bit of the garden that we're using it's not actually ours it belongs

to the guy upstairs, so I, there isn't anywhere I can put something in and it's just too blowy

around the side to put the greenhouse back there so I'm not going to do that but

I don't know, it's going to be the tomatoes that I think, I dis well with tomatoes outside

last year but I loved just having the greenhouse just full of all of those varieties of tomatoes

and I've saved quite a lot of seed but maybe, maybe I'll be able to get them outside but

I don't know.

We'll see.

[sigh] it's annoying, it's very annoying but it could have been a lot worse, it's so fortunate

the time it happened that we were both in and the neighbour across the way came in and

just helped us drag the frame back up here out of the way.

So it's not the end of the world but it is a big irritation.

I will see you again on Wednesday with another allotment video which I will have some filming

from the potato day for you, to show you and hopefully on a more positive note.

Thanks for watching guys, bye bye.

'AANSLAG' | Aflevering 1 | Dagboek van onze Helden 2017 - Duration: 10:42.

Attack

First your briefing, starting with maritime deployment.

In the Netherlands, Army support is going according to plan.

Then, Minusma in Mali.

News from the EUTM mission in Somalia. These are the details.

A small group of soldiers are working in Mogadishu.

One of them is the only Dutch soldier involved in training the Somali army.

His name is Adam.

I train guys who can't read or write.

But I do need to explain to them how the alphabet works.

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etcetera.

That's difficult.

What other challenges have I got?

Last week, I found out...

That was my boss. He came to tell me about the threat we are facing right now.

We are at the highest threat level right now.

There is concrete evidence of a mortar attack this afternoon.

To Somalia now, where a terror attack on a hotel killed at least 14 people.

It started with a suicide car bombing at the hotel gate.

Witnesses say gunmen then rushed in shooting people at random.

There are many attacks and shootouts.

Every day, there is an incident. New threats are coming in every day.

Yesterday, there was an attack on a hotel on the beach.

Some guys came from the sea on to land.

My name is Adam. I'm 27. I've been a professional soldier for eight years.

I'm going to Somalia as a trainer.

I'm going to help the Somali government train NGOs, squad leaders.

They will then fight insurgents.

OK. First, defensive positions as a squad leader.

Last time in Afghanistan, there was a whole platoon of us.

Now I'll be on my own.

My family back home isn't quite so keen on me going to a war zone.

My mother was quite upset at first.

She doesn't want her son to be sent to war zones.

Now that she knows how much I want this and what my motivation is...

she understands this and supports me.

I'm finishing my walk-around.

But we're not going to fly for some time because of the lightning.

My name is Niki. I'm 47 and I fly a F-16.

In the 25 years I've flown the F-16, I've reached about 3700 flying hours.

There are a few other pilots in the Air Force with over 3000 hours.

I've been dispatched on numerous missions...

to former Yugoslavia in the 1990s and four times to Afghanistan.

Recently, I also took part in the fight against ISIS.

This is just standard Arizona weather.

See you later. -Have fun.

I'm going to start from scratch...

with a new team of F-16 pilots to be.

It's going to be fantastic. I'm really looking forward to it.

My new mission is training young F-16 pilots.

I'm moving to Tucson. I'm really looking forward to my new job.

It's great for me because it's where I started flying the F-16 myself.

I made a Picasso on the board.

I hope I can have a positive influence on my students.

You already did close and tactical in Texas.

The training given in Tucson is very extensive. It takes eight, nine months.

Then they're ready to be dispatched to a conflict zone...

when the Netherlands decides to send F-16s.

Guys who have just finished their training are going to fight ISIS over Iraq and Syria.

Good morning. This is Rhino, from the Apache.

I've finally arrived in Gao. 18 months ago, I was in Mali too.

This is my room. Sylvie and sweet cards from my girlfriend.

My role in Mali is Apache commander. I am in charge of an Apache helicopter.

Apart from flying, the coolest thing is getting into the helicopter...

and thinking: This is really awesome.

Looking back on another mission is still great.

It was sort of weird.

After take-off from the airstrip, we were supposed to explore the area.

After 10 minutes, we got a radio call saying we had to go to an area urgently...

because a Niger platoon had walked into an ambush.

There were multiple casualties. So we went there as fast as we could.

When we got there, we saw what had happened.

There were burned out vehicles.

We were told the men who had laid the ambush...

had fled on mopeds with the weapons.

We searched the area, but we couldn't find anything.

Later they returned with Chinooks with commandos on board...

to recover the bodies.

We don't exactly know the situation there.

The only information we have comes from Apaches. It may be total chaos.

We'll take the lead. We'll get things sorted.

From the air we use sensors to look at the ground.

This gives us quite a good view. And you can actually see bodies outside.

It turned out nine people had been killed.

We talked a lot about it with the men. We had many briefings about it.

So my first time was quite shocking.

in the next episode

My name is Paul.

I am 30 years old.

I've been a commando since 2007.

Cruz Trump's Pick For Supreme Court A 'Home Run' - Duration: 3:30.

Cruz Trumps Pick For Supreme Court A Home Run

by Randy DeSoto.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, called President Donald Trumps pick to fill the seat left open

by Justice Antonin Scalias death last year a home run.

Cruz, who clerked at the Supreme Court for former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, told

CNN after the announcement Tuesday night, Today was the most important decision President

Trump has made in the first two weeks serving in office.

During the campaign he promised the people that he would nominate a principled constitutionalist

to replace Justice Scalia and tonight President Trump honored that commitment, he added.

I think Judge [Neil] Gorsuch is a home run.

In a subsequent interview on Fox News, Cruz laid out Gorsuchs impressive qualifications

for the position, including clerking for Justice Byron White, who was President John Kennedys

only Supreme Court appointment and a registered Democrat.

Following Whites retirement, Gorsuch then served for current Supreme Court Justice Anthony

Kennedy, who was appointed by Ronald Reagan and is considered the courts swing vote.

Cruz noted that the Senate unanimously approved Gorsuch to his current judgeship on the 10th

U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver in 2006.

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Minority Whip Dick Durbin, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (ranking

member on the Judiciary Committee) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (also on the Judiciary Committee)

were among those Democrats who gave him the nod.

Cruz was clearly seeking to address Schumers threat to block any Supreme Court nominee

outside of the mainstream by pointing out the nominees past bipartisan work record

and Senate support.

The question I would ask Senate Democrats now is, whats changed? Cruz said.

What has changed?

A decade ago, you were willing to confirm him to the Court of Appeals, and the only

thing thats changed is [that] he has a decade of an exemplary record.

The Democrats are not going to succeed in filibustering this nomination, and President

Trump is going to meet his promise to the American people, vowed the senator, a fierce

rival of Trumps during the GOP presidential primary race.

Trump highlighted Gorsuchs background at the White House on Tuesday night with the

family of Justice Scalia on hand to witness the occasion.

Gorsuch graduated from Columbia and Harvard Law School with honors, and earned his doctorate

at Oxford on a Marshall Scholarship.

In what was certainly music to conservatives ears, he sounded very much like Scalia on

Tuesday night in accepting the nomination.

A judge who likes every outcome he reaches is very likely a bad judge, stretching for

results he prefers rather than those the law demands, the nominee said.

Gorsuch added that Congress, not the courts, write new laws, saying, It is the role

of judges to apply, not alter the work of the peoples representatives.

What do you think?

ENG SUBS - DIY Tutorial bracciale con perle Fiori d'acciaio/ Iron Flower bracelet with pearls - Duration: 11:26.

Hi everyone and welcome back on my Youtube channel!

New tutorial today!

Some of you asked me for this bracelet tutorial and so in this video I have decided to show you how to make it.

It is an easy bracelet made with Right angle weave technique

And to make it we will need very few supplies.

We will need 57 8mm pearls, I am using these in hematite color

Then we will need an elegant clasp, I am using this one in silver color

We will need some 11/0 seed beads I am using these silver beads by Toho, some jump rings

some flat nose pliers

and some thread. I am using this Caperlan Thread but I don't recommend to you this thread because I don't like it but it is the only thread I have right now.

If you have fireline, you can use it. I recommend you to use the 0,15mm size.

If you want you can use monofilament thread, too.

We will need a n°10 needle, too.

Pick up a sequence made of 1 8mm pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl and the last 11/0 seed bead ( 4 pearls and 4 seed beads)

Bring the sequence at the end of the thread and pass again through the first bead and then through the whole sequence of bead to reinforce the work

This is the final result. The thread exits one of the 8mm pearls.

Pick up 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 8mm pearl, and another 1 11/0 seed bead

We add three pearls because we start from the 4th pearl we already have added to the work.

pass again through the same bead but in the opposite side.

Pull the thread. I recommend you to pass again through the beads to straighten the work

Then pass again through the next 1 11/0 seed bead, the next 8mm pearl, the next 11/0 seed bead and through the next 8mm pearl and repeat the step again.

You have to make always the same steps to complete the work

The thread exits the external 8mm bead, pick up the same sequence of bead and pass through the same size 8 pearl.

You have to enter the opposite side of the pearl from which the thread is exiting from.

Pass through the next 4 beads

Don't forget to pass again through the whole sequence of beads to reinforce the work.

The thread must always exit from the external 8mm pearl.

Now we have made 4 modules. We have to make 7 more modules to finish our first row of pearls.

I have just finished to make the first stripe of pearls modules and now we have to make the second stripe.

The thread exits the left pearl of the last module we made.

To make our first module pick up the same sequence of three 8mm pearls and pass through the 8mm pearl on the left.

Pass again through the whole sequence of beads and bring the thread exiting the bottom bead of the module we just made.

As you can see now we have two pearls of the sequence so we have to add only two pearls on the thread to complete the sequence

Pick up 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 pearl and 1 11/0 seed bead

and pass through the right pearl. As you can see we have an 11/0 missing so pick up an 11/0 seed bead and pass through the next pearl.

Pass again through the whole sequence of beads and now we have to add the 11/0 first and then add the sequence of pearls to the work.

So pick up 1 11/0 seed bead and pass through the next pearl

Then pick up 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 pearl, 1 11/0 seed bead, 1 pearl and 1 11/0 seed bead and pass through the whole sequence of beads.

Bring the thread exiting the middle pearl (see video)

Repeat the same sequence until you have finished the second stripe with 8mm pearls

This is the final result! Now we have to make the loops on the external pearls to add the clasp

The thread exits one of the external 11/0 seed beads

Pick up 10 11/0 seed beads and pass through the opposite 11/0 seed bead. Pass again through the loop to reinforce it.

Then pass through the beads and bring the thread exiting the other 11/0 seed bead and repeat the previous step.

Repeat this step at the opposite side of the bracelet

We are finally at the end of the work! Now we have to join the stripe to our clasp and I am going to make it with some jump rings and some pliers

Our Iron flower bracelets ar ready to be worn!I hope you like them!

Please subscribe to my channel and like it if you like the video! And see you in the next video!Bye bye!

Kellyanne Conway Invents Fake Terror Attack To Justify Travel Ban - Duration: 4:13.

On Thursday evening, Trump advisor, Kellyanne Conway went on MSNBC, to speak to Chris Matthews,

to defend Donald Trump's Muslim ban.

During this interview, Kellyanne Conway pulled out a piece of evidence to prove that we need

some kind of ban on Muslims coming into the United States.

The specific piece of evidence she used was in regards to a 2011 terrorist attack in Bowling

Green, Kentucky that was carried out by two Iraqi refugees.

If you haven't heard of this terror attack, it's okay.

That's common, because apparently it never happened.

Kellyanne Conway went on MSNBC and completely made up a terrorist attack in the United States

to justify Donald Trump's Muslim ban.

This isn't even alternative facts.

This is alternative reality.

She flat out lied on national television about something that's very easily verifiable.

According to Vox.com, what Kellyanne Conway might have been trying to refer to is the

fact that two Iraqi refugees were arrested in Bowling Green, Kentucky on terrorism related

charges because, allegedly, they were plotting to send money and weapons back to Iraq.

A plot that was never officially carried out.

But in Kellyanne Conway's mind, that somehow warped into two Iraqi refugees, both Muslim,

who killed American citizens in the United States, and, according to Kellyanne Conway,

the mainstream media just choose to not report about this and that's why people don't know

about it.

Not because it's fake, but because the corporate media didn't talk about it.

I know we're living in an alt-fact world right now, but that doesn't give anyone within the

Trump administration the privilege of going out and absolutely lying to the American public.

It also shows you how desperate they are to defend this racist, bigoted Muslim ban, that

they have to make up facts to support their Muslim ban, ignoring completely the fact that

earlier this week, up in Canada, six Muslims were killed in a hate inspired terrorist attack,

carried out, not by a Muslim, but against Muslims.

That's the real persecution happening here in North America right now.

Have there been terrorist attacks carried out by Muslims in the United States?

Absolutely.

Have there been ten times more terrorist attacks carried out in the United States by white

Christian fundamentalists?

Yes.

Apparently we're going after the wrong religion if we want to keep American citizens safe.

But any of that is beside the point, you cannot persecute someone in the United States based

on their religion.

That's what Kellyanne Conway is trying to do.

That's what Donald Trump is trying to do, and that's why they're literally inventing,

out of thin air, fake terrorist attacks to scare American citizens.

The worst part about all this is the Trump supporters are going to believe that it happened.

I guarantee you, right now, you probably have Breitbart.com and Fox News out there trying

to piece together something that will make it look like there actually was a terrorist

attack in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

You could do the easy thing.

You can check police records.

You can check the death records.

You could check local newspapers because they would probably have to report on something

about that, and you're not going to find a damn thing, because Kellyanne Conway is nothing

but a paid liar for the Donald Trump administration.

ULTIMATE 2017 DIY Custom Desk PC Mod Setup Tour - Water Cooled Gaming Computer in a Desk - Duration: 12:52.

what's going on guys I hope you enjoyed

my setup this desk pc took me around six

months to build on and off obviously

with a full-time job so that's mostly

working on it on weekends and afternoons the whole

front panel of the desk is dedicated to

fan control LED lighting and we also

have a car head unit in place so what I am

able to do is pair my phone with this

and I'm able to receive bluetooth phone

calls sort of like hands-free in a car

through the desk which is another pretty

crazy feature about this desk also have

2 12 x 16 inch speakers

one on either side of the desk at the

sides so i am able to use this two channel

car amplifier which is inside the desk to

listen to some beats through those

speakers the two 4 inch speakers which are

on top of the desk are also car speakers

and they are hooked up to this car head unit down

below but that's not the only audio we

have we have a 7.1 surround sound system

without logitech gear over there we also

have a focusrite scarlett audio

interface for our audio technica

headphones which are hanging up there

the microphone here is an audio technica

at2020 i use that when I'm doing my

gameplay and talking to people in

teamspeak and things like that and for

my general voice overs I normal use a

sennheiser mkh 416 shotgun mic so what

has changed since the last update video

well we have some new liquid cooling

tubes inside I've re-bent this one at

the back it's more hidden underneath now

I also have a new tube route going from

the cpu to the first hard drive and

that's because we got a new motherboard

the MSI X99 Carbon godlike

motherboard we also have four sticks of

Corsair Vengeance led ram and two msi gtx

1080s in sli down the bottom here

we do have our custom SSD plates which we

made in a previous video a couple weeks

back and all of our fans are noctura

fans for the best possible cooling

potential we do have UV green and black

sleeved cables which is why they are also

glowing from the UV light within the

system we are able to control the

different colors of the light with our

remote system we can turn it on and off

have them flashing fading we can have it

going to music and many more options

yes the hard drives are liquid cooled they

have a water block on them this is more for

aesthetics they don't need to be liquid Cooled

the only reason i have the waterblocks on

them is because I've got the tube

coming from the cpu and if i didn't have

those waterblocks there that tube would

have to go all the way around and then

into the reservoir it would have looked a bit

untidy so having the water blocks there

is just for aesthetics it breaks the

loop up a bit and just fills up that

space a bit more we are using a Mayhem's

UV green dye within the system and

we've also got all of our biocides and kill

coils and stuff within the system to

stop any growth majority of the liquid

cooling hardware is from primochill we have

got their flowmeter down the bottom there

and a few of their ghosts compression

fittings which is a nice clean black

color which suits the theme of the build

the monitors are three LG 27 inch IPS

LED monitors i'm looking to upgrade

these monitors but for now these do

exactly what I need them to do i'm not a

competitive gamer anything i just play

for fun but most of my time is spent

video editing i actually have another

monitor in for RMA at the moment so the

main display in the middle will get

replaced once that returns the desk is

all custom-made i made this about two

years ago the first version it had soft

tubing in it to begin with but now I think

it's a much cleaner design and I like

where this desk is heading and I'm going

to keep it growing throughout my growth

on youtube as well so I sort of see

this project as a centerpiece for my

youtube channel and something that I can

grow off of as well

the desk is 1.5 meters long 0.8 meters

wide and the desk sits around 0.77

meters high the box at its thickest

point is

0.22 meters in thickness

this is a strengthened safety glass on

top so i don't have too much worries if

I am in some really serious game

play I got to try and refrain myself from

actually smashing down on the glass now

I know in my other videos a lot of

people said that the glare might be an

issue while gaming but to be honest I

can't even see the glare reflecting onto

the screens and in your peripheral

vision

yes you can see it but i do have

switches to turn all the lights off so

it makes it nice and easy and you can have

it suit your personal preference if

you wish you can dim the lights you can fade the lights

you can do whatever you want, you can turn the

lights off you don't have to have any

lights on at all the cpu is an intel 5960x

we're gonna probably upgrade

not this gen maybe next-gen we'll just

see how everything pans out and what the

speeds of the new CPU's you look like

I'm after more cores than everything

because i like to do video editing and

rendering and 3d design as part of

my hobby and part of YouTube and part of

building custom pcs my operating system

is windows 10 and is currently stored on

an M.2 SSD so it's really fast

read and write speeds on that and I try to

keep my main programs and operating

system limited to that SSD and put games

and stuff on other ssds which I have

within the desk in total there is

around 26 terabytes of storage within

the desk i will certainly not be using

all 26 terabytes I have some hard drives

in here just for backups

so i can keep multiple backups of

everything that i have i also have a lot

of videos and editing and raw footage

that i like to store as well and i

like to keep it because down the track

i reuse a lot of my footage for

tutorials and things like that so anyway

hope you all enjoyed my 2017 desk set up

tour i'm going to give you guys a whole

tour around the actual caravan so you

will be able to see more pcs sitting behind me

such as the tank and one of my new ones

that i just recently complete last

week hope you all enjoy guys remember to

check out more videos on the channel

lots of custom pcs lots of DIY tutorials

water cooling tutorials and reviews so

check them out guys let me know what you

think down below

I want to know what you guys think about this new desk

setup for 2017 like and subscribe guys

and we'll see you all in the next video

As U S Remains Divided on Islam, These Jews and Muslims Are Coming Together - Duration: 9:39.

As U.S. Remains Divided on Islam, These Jews and Muslims Are Coming Together.

As the United States and the world draw lines in the sand over Trumps new immigration

policies, Muslims, Jews, and people from all walks of life are banding together for peace

both for themselves and the planet.

The EcoMe Center, currently located at the junction of Jericho and Almog, was founded

in December of 2010 by a group of Israeli friends who attended the Arava Institute for

Environmental Studies, a program that includes Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and other

international students.

Though the founders are Israeli, they wanted to establish an ecovillage run by both

Israelis and Palestinians.

The ongoing divide between Palestinians and Israelis is one of the longest-running conflicts

in the world and continues to inspire vitriol and protest from both sides, with many around

the world criticizing Israel for illegally confiscating and occupying the land of Palestinians.

Indeed, the relationship is lopsided, with Israeli Defense Forces controlling Palestinians

and often committing staggering human rights violations.

Amid this seemingly insurmountable conflict, the group of friends established EcoMe in

the hopes of healing these historical and current divisions.

According to Arnon Shomer, a spokesman for EcoMe:

Some of these people never met a person from the other side not through military

engagement (Israelis as soldiers and Palestinians meet them as soldiers). This creates a very

deep impact on everyone who comes to these workshops.

For me, the first people that I could call Palestinian friends, I met through the center,

and this is one of the only places where we can meet each other on the human level, and

not as political entities.

Seeking to alter this paradigm while also helping the earth, the founders began by contacting

local people and leaders and creating events of music [and] gathering. They started

to build permaculture structures in the place from local materials.

EcoMe has successfully created an environmentally-conscious, sustainable community.

Shomer says EcoMe has compost toilets and a water reuse system (there is no sewage system

at the facility).

They construct buildings from local materials, such as palms and garbage tires, plastics

of greenhouses and anything we can find. The center practices recycling and has a seasonal

garden where attendees grow vegetables, which are used in EcoMes vegetarian communal

kitchen.

They also have a free range chicken house, projects to help sustain beehives, and permaculture

workshops that teach biodynamic beekeeping, recycled art, and permaculture gardening.

These efforts are all maintained by visitors to the center, who are primarily Israeli and

Palestinian but come from around the world.

Though most international visitors come from Europe and North America, Shomer says they

have had guests from countries like Japan, Brazil, Iran, Jordan, Kenya, and Colombia.

As he explains, the ones holding the space for the workshops are living in it as a community

and do a lot of community work and sharing. And thats what makes EcoMe especially unique.

In addition to working with the land and environment, the center places a strong emphasis on healing

relations between Palestinians and Israelis who visit the center.

Rather than accepting those tensions, EcoMe seeks to help them interact with each other

in a peaceful way to foster friendship, understanding, and tolerance.

One of the key methods they employ in this effort is the practice of nonviolent communication

(NVC).

NVC was developed by Marshall Rosenberg, an American psychologist, and is rooted in finding

common ground and empathy.

According to NVCs website: Through the practice of NVC, we can learn

to clarify what we are observing, what emotions we are feeling, what values we want to live

by, and what we want to ask of ourselves and others.

We will no longer need to use the language of blame, judgment or domination.

We can experience the deep pleasure of contributing to each others well-being.

The communication method is rooted in listening and compassion, allowing those with grievances

to express their frustrations without overtly blaming or lashing out at the other person

but still requesting acknowledgment and action to resolve the conflict at hand.

NVC has been used for everything from marriage counseling to resolving political conflicts.

In fact, in his book on the method, Rosenberg recalled his experience mediating between

an Israeli and Palestinian, who were eventually able to find common ground despite their seemingly

diametrically opposed views.

Rosenberg also worked with individuals who are now members of EcoMe.

As one Palestinian woman, Amal Hedwah, has said of Rosenberg and her experience with

him: It was an asset for me.

He made a shock in my mind and in my soul and in my body and now I am a new person.

EcoMe holds an annual NVC workshop that lasts between ten and twelve days and invites Palestinians,

Israelis, and other international visitors a chance to communicate with each other.

This creates a wide community of people who are now friends, and sometime partners,

and committed to continue [working] for peace, Shomer says.

According to one attendee at the center: I know many of us are working on the peace

process as a political process, but for me, its looking beyond the political process.

How can we engage in peace work as people who live in this land, coming from different

identities, different cultures, different religions, but understanding that within all

of these identities there are people who want peace, and within these ideas there are people

who dont want peacefor me, it is about the right peoplebeing here who want to

work for peace and how we can work together. One of the best examples of this was the groups

recent efforts to help Palestinians clean up the remains of a tent they were living

in that had been ravaged by the Israeli military for the third time in a year.

EcoMe does not seek to avoid or gloss over the historical division between Israelis and

Palestinians or Israels own role in it.

Shomer describes the normalization of occupation:

It is a negative aspect of our work since, for Palestinians, meeting Israelis

without dealing in ending the occupation is normalizing the situation of privileged citizens

and underprivileged occupied people who have no rights.

Noting the challenges of running a center that brings Israelis and Palestinians together,

he continued: To acknowledge this is a very basic need

for the Palestinian people, and many Israelis do not see it this way, and so, when meeting

with each other on the human level, but neglecting the political issue, [it] creates normalization

of the situation. The center is currently located on a Jewish

settlers land, a region EcoMe chose because, as Shomer explains, it is the occupied

territories, and we are here because we want to be accessible for Palestinians who can

not come to Israel because of the separation. Nevertheless, he says their location has drawn

concerns that the center itself engages in normalization.

This is why we decided to have a meeting about this issue with our Palestinian friends,

and the main conclusion was that we need to find another place for the center that is

not on settlement land, he said, adding they are currently searching for a new location

to resolve the issue.

As they work to solve this fundamental problem, however, they offer a variety of classes and

methods to help those who attend find peace.

In addition to NVC, EcoMe offers art workshops and yoga and meditation classes.

Both practices are increasingly shown to promote well-being and reduce stress.

The center also offers language classes, teaching Arabic, Hebrew, and English, as language is

one of the barriers for understanding each other.

Though the world currently appears to be in upheaval and citizens of the world seem increasingly

polarized, EcoMe is effectively working to alter this trend one person at a time driven

and sustained by individuals who are truly becoming the change they wish to see in the

world.
