Logarist Color Correction for DaVinci Resolve, Vegas Pro, and Final Cut Pro X - Duration: 9:15.

Hi, everyone.

My name is Jacob Balazer, and this is an introduction to Logarist video color correction.

If you've ever used Adobe Lightroom to process raw photos,

you know how easy it is to make simple color corrections.

Exposure compensation, contrast adjustment,

and white balance adjustment are usually all you need.

These adjustments can be applied to the entire image like in this example,

or to specific areas or color ranges.

How does Lightroom enable these types of corrections?

It's not because the images were shot in raw.

Lightroom makes these corrections possible because it knows how to transform your camera's image

into a color space optimized for color correction.

And that's what Logarist does for video.

Logarist transforms your camera's video into a color space

optimized for exposure compensation, white balance correction, and contrast adjustment.

Logarist supports multiple camera color spaces,

and works in DaVinci Resolve, Vegas Pro, and Final Cut Pro X.

In this video I will show you how to use Logarist in all three of these applications.

Logarist is free. You can download it from logarist.com.

What is a color space, and why do they matter for color correction?

A Color space is a way of representing colors using numbers.

The numbers are called color values.

Typically we use three numbers to represent one color.

There are many different color spaces.

They have names like sRGB, S-Log, and Canon Log.

Each one uses different numbers to represent the same colors.

You can transform between color spaces.

This changes the numbers, not the colors.

When a color space transformation is performed correctly, the colors do not change,

at least within the limits of the color space. Only the numbers change.

When you manipulate the color values of an image, what happens to the colors?

That depends on which color space you're working in.

Logarist uses look-up tables, or LUTs, to transform between color spaces.

Logarist LUTs are always used in pairs.

The first LUT transforms from your camera's color space into the Logarist color space.

The second LUT transforms into the display color space.

Color correction is performed in the Logarist color space, between the two LUTs.

Now I'll show you how to use Logarist in DaVinci Resolve.

First, open Project Settings.

In Master Project Settings, set Color science to DaVinci YRGB.

Then in Color, uncheck "Use legacy log grading" and "Use S-curve for Contrast".

Right click the video clip, click Clip Attributes…, and set Data Levels to Video.

Right click the video clip, go to 3D LUT, and find the camera-to-Logarist LUT

that corresponds to your camera's color space.

This file was recorded in the Sony Cine1 color space.

Next, switch to the Color workspace.

You can put all of your corrections in a single node, but for the sake of illustration

I'm going to put each one in a separate node.

Right click on the last corrector node,

go to 3D LUT,

and choose a Logarist-to-BT.709 LUT.

Most of the time I use LumaComp 0.66, which extends the highlight range by 2/3 of a stop.

Next I'll do exposure compensation in the first node.

Set the color wheels to Log mode,

and drag the offset master wheel right or left to lighten or darken the image.

This shot was overexposed by about half a stop.

Here's it is before and after adjustment.

Now with the second node selected, to adjust the contrast, first set the pivot to 0.5,

and then adjust the contrast.

I've added just a small amount of contrast here.

You can also use curves to make more complicated contrast adjustments.

Now in the third node, to correct the white balance, drag the offset color wheel.

This shot has a bit too much yellow, so I'm going to drag the wheel towards blue.

This control is very sensitive, so use a light touch.

Here is the shot before the adjustment, and after.

You can also use Resolve's log Shadow and Highlight adjustments

in the Logarist color space.

Next up, Logarist in Vegas Pro.

Open Project Properties,

set the Pixel format to 32-bit floating point (full range),

Compositing gamma to Video,

and the View transform to Off.

Click the Event FX button.

In the 32-bit floating point folder, double click to add a VisionColor LUT Plugin,

Brightness and Contrast, Channel Blend,

and then another VisionColor LUT Plugin, and click OK.

In the first VisionColor LUT Plugin effect, load the appropriate camera-to-Logarist LUT,

in this case, for Sony Cine1.

Click the second VisionColor LUT Plugin effect, and load a Logarist-to-BT.709 LUT.

I usually use LumaComp 0.66.

To compensate for the exposure, in the Brightness and Contrast effect,

drag the Brightness slider left or right.

Hold down the Ctrl key to make fine adjustments.

This shot is overexposed by half a stop.

Here's the shot before and after adjustment.

To adjust the contrast, drag the contrast slider.

Hold down the Ctrl key to make fine adjustments.

Here's the effect of exposure and contrast adjustment on this shot.

To correct the white balance, in the Channel Blend effect,

adjust the red, green, and blue channel offsets in the last column.

Hold down the Ctrl key, click between the two arrows, and drag up or down.

Here's the shot with and without white balance correction.

And here's a comparison of the video straight from the camera,

and with color correction in Logarist.

At this point you may wish to save the plug-in chain in a filter package

so it can be applied quickly to more video events.

The saved plug-in chain can be found in the Filter Packages folder.

And now, Logarist in Final Cut Pro X.

Select your clip in the timeline,

and then open the Effects Browser and the Inspector.

Add an mLut Plugin effect to your clip,

then a Color Correction effect,

and then another mLut Plugin effect.

Expand the first mLut effect, and uncheck HUE/SATURATION.

Click Load Custom LUT,

browse to a camera-to-Logarist LUT file, and select it.

This clip uses the Sony Cine1 color space.

Note whether the filename ends in [Highlights 1.1], like this one does.

If it does, the information will need to be entered after loading the LUT.

Since this LUT's filename has [Highlights 1.1], click the Highlights value,

type 1.1 on the keyboard, and press Return.

Now in the second mLut effect,

uncheck HUE/SATURATION,

and click Load Custom LUT.

Browse to a Logarist-to-BT.709 LUT file, select it, and click Load.

Now, open the Color Correction effect's Color Board, and click Exposure.

Use the Global Exposure setting to perform exposure compensation.

Click the value and use the up and down arrow keys to make fine adjustments.

To perform white balance correction, click Color.

This clip has a noticeable greenish yellow tint.

So first set the global hue angle to greenish yellow.

Then click the global percentage value,

and use the down arrow key to remove a couple of percentage points.

If you need to make even finer adjustments,

I've outlined a way to do it on the Logarist web site.

You can toggle the Color Correction effect off and on

to see the effects of the color correction.

To adjust contrast, drag the contrast slider in the second mLut effect.

That concludes this introduction to Logarist.

be the ones doing it. to me this a lot of music and when there's too much of a

product of any kind of price goes down right now it's almost at zero or at zero

if something was rare and hard to obtain that's when the price goes up and the

problem is all i remember years ago I i saw this coming in the late eighties in

Los Angeles where I live

Richard Branson opened up big shop on one of the main streets in Los Angeles

virgin megastore and he even came down from a helicopter in a crazy guy an

inner it was a big deal when the shop opened it was the biggest record store

video everything just multimedia shop huge was like am all by itself and I'll

never forget the first time I walked inside that shop I walked in and I

practically fell on my knees I went how is it possible for anyone to find my

album here it's just it was overwhelming there were literally millions of records

in there so then I thought there's just too much pussy too much music and and

people find it very hard to differentiate between what's good and

what's not

if they're not musicians they you know artists subjective so

people will they like something they don't like something that's all there is

to it and so I thought the future is very grim

i'm going to try an experiment online on my next album with internet being so

available everywhere my next release this next album working on will not be

available on any of the traditional sources i'm not going to make a CD so we

can't copy the CD i'm going to make it like a funnel web site where you have to

put your email address in and then you have your choice to buy i'll have some

examples some little but streaming only just like a radio service that most in a

spotify and all these other people provide Spotify pays one hundred

thousand of a cent per play which is an absurd the whole thing is a to me is a

complete farce

it's a debacle it's disgrace what services like that

hey the artists it's insufferable so I say screw them and I want to make my

product rare right for the same reason i said before something is rare it makes

it valuable

so I don't want to be distributed on all the Apple where everybody else is making

money except honest and to me it's like putting the cart before the horse

without the artists there is no music right and I consider my music valuable

as most artists do so you can see I'm very passionate about this so I want to

make a website where it's the only source for this music and it's streaming

only like the streaming services but i will add content such as

behind-the-scenes video

maybe some outtakes that kind of stuff to entice people to buy the record and

support the artist but it'll be the only place for as long as it's the only place

but if it's streaming only at least people can't download it and i'll make

it as secure as possible

you know the the software companies are doing the same thing the whole idea that

we have the cloud is because software companies don't want to produce their

DVD product anymore because people copied so now companies big software

companies are saying enough of this will give people first small amount of money

they can have access to keep your own files but you have access to the actual

software on the cloud so you can't ever owned and in general people don't want

to own the music they don't want a stack of cds or LLP's like our generation

is just one access so i want to provide access easy access for my next record

and make my website for this album the only source for the record so I'm going

to try that as an experiment and we'll see what happens

you'll push WiFi WPS button one time

and you will see WPS button light is start blinking. then Go your Mobile

Go to Settings then Wifi, and here if i want to connect with "Fahed Zaman"

It is asking for Password. So just go to options and find WPS push button.

Just click on WPS push button. the connecting process will start

then you'll wait 05 to 10 seconds, fter the complete process, your WiFi Automatically

will be Connect on Your Smartphone without the password.

Baofeng Mojing IV Unboxing and Review - Android Version (English subs available) - Duration: 5:35.

Hi everyone and welcome to the first episode of V i P Reviews.

VR headsets have raided the tech market since 2014

specially after Google made their first VR headset, "Google Cardboard"

and since then we have seen lots of brands and different designs of them.

I'm Mohammed Ali, and this is the unboxing & review of the Baofeng Mojing IV VR headset, stay tuned ..

Welcome back. let's first open the box and see what's inside.

First item is the VR headset

the head strap, and I will show you how to attach it

and the remote control which comes with 2 "AAA" batteries.

here is the compartment which we put the phone into

inside we will find a piece of cloth to clean the lenses

and a paper guide which shows us how to insert phones with screen sizes less than 5.2 inches

and the user manual which explains how to you use the VR headset.

*giggles* and here's a user manual written in Chinese which I can't understand!

back to the VR headset again

the VR headset is made of hard plastic, with an elegant theme of black and white colors

the phone compartment contains two magnets to close firmly on the phone

and it comes with an opened front to be able to use the camera with apps that supports it

it also contains two rubber pieces to hold the phone firmly in place and prevent it from sliding

and if you're using a phone case, I recommend that you remove it while using the headset

or easily remove the two rubber pieces, which will give you more room to fit your phone

on top there's a knob which controls the distance between the lenses, turn it until you see a clear picture

the eye rest piece is also made of rubber, and its depth makes it easily for people with glasses to use it

and the nose piece is also covered with rubber to prevent any pain due to long usage.

the head strap has cushions from the inside, which makes it comfortable to wear

and here's how you can attach it to the headset

and to remove it, you simply press here and pull it

and here's a knob which allows you to tighten or loosen the strap

just pull the knob and turn it left or right until you reach the desired wideness

then push the knob back in and the strap will lock

to use the remote, you first open the back cover and insert the batteries

and connecting it to the phone is made via bluetooth

you just turn it on by pressing and holding the power button

and it will automatically pair with the phone

then you enter the password "0000" and hit Connect

now we can use any VR app, and in this video I will be using "Sites in VR"

the app is very simple to use, with tons of high quality scenes

and you can download it for free from the Play Store

the download link is going to be in the description box below, and I highly recommend it for anyone how owns a VR headset

the VR headset is available on gearbest.com, and it costs around 35-40 US Dollars

and if you're interested in purchasing it, the link will be in the descreption box below

now for my overall opinion

the build quality is very good

and the image quality is good but not great

I've used it for two months and I'll rate it 8/10

and that's for 2 reasons

first reason is weight, as it weighs approx. 390gm with the head strap attached

which could cause some pain with long usage

the second reason is that it doesn't have the mechanism to move the lenses near or far from the eyes

which could cause some troubles for people with glasses

should you buy it or not?

yes if you're interested in the whole VR world idea

but I recommend that you wait for the release of the 5th version

which will have significant improvements on the lenses and the headset generally.

this was my opinion about Baofeng Mojing IV

I'm going to show you how to make a really delicious and easy chicken & rice soup!

Go ahead and toss in 1 stick of butter into your large pot and melt that down.

Add in 1 C of all purpose flour and whisk that in immediately.

Very good.

Now you'll add in 1 C of milk and whisk that in.

Don't worry, we didn't forget about the other one.

So add 1 more cup of milk and whisk that in as well.

Now add in 8 C of chicken broth and mix that in.

Add 1 whole chopped onion.

Add 1 ½ C of coarsely chopped carrots. Add in 5 stalks of chopped celery.

Now add 1 heaping cup of your favorite rice. Add ½ tsp of dried rosemary.

Add ½ tsp of dried thyme along with salt and pepper to taste and mix that all together.

Now you'll carefully place 1lb of chicken breasts into the soup and let that simmer

about 30 minutes. After about 30 minutes you'll see your soup

has thickened and your chicken should be cooked. You'll carefully take them out one by one

and shred them and then place the meat back into the soup.

Stir the shredded chicken into the soup and let that simmer about 5-10 more minutes and

then voila, your soup is done! This soup looks AND tastes amazing. It's

awesome. Thank you so much for hanging out with me

common English mistake made by Russian

speakers who are learning English. This

Good for you for working to improve

your English. I totally admire and

respect it. In these videos I show you a

slide and, on the slide, there are two

sentences: One is the correct way that

someone who speaks English as a mother

tongue would say it,

the other is the wrong way that many

Russian speakers who are learning

English say it. Your task is to decide

which one is correct. Do that now. Read

the sentences, think about them, pause the

video if you have to and I will discuss

the answer in the slide that follows

this slide.

If you got it wrong, it simply means --

or if you guessed right, but it was a

wild guess and you don't know why you got it

write -- it simply means that you need to

start studying this structure. To

start you on that path, I've given you

three sentences in the following slide.

Study the sentences as a whole, review

them and put into practice what you've

learned through speaking and/or writing.
