PINCH!

What is that face?

pinch pinch pinch

pinch and a punch for the first of the month!

*sigh*

It's just my culture

flick!

ow!

and a kick for being so quick!

Just respecting YOUR culture

okay

Thank you for respecting my Australian culture

of a pinch and a punch

I'm gentleman, I'm a very gentle person

I respect your culture

by kicking me? Thank you

because it's your culture!

I mean... you know

But does Korea have something in their culture where it's the first of the month and they do something to somebody?

Is there?

if anyone knows about that kind of thing let me know

if anyone knows Korean culture better

I don't really remember if we have something like that

Something Koreans do do is the flick in the forehead

in games and that type of thing

yeah in games, it's punishment

when I first started hanging out with Koreans, even before I met you

and I saw how brutal Koreans are in games

there's gotta be punishment

should have punishment, if there is no punishment

it's boring game

see... no

so people will flick so hard

what's the other one with the hands and that

people do it really hard

this is not good

sorry I just did a really bad sign in Korean

I apologise, I didn't mean it like that

I was getting the sauce out of the thing

oh no. People know what you are talking about

we won't say what that means

but there is something else with flicking and hands right?

like on someone's hand

ah this one

or this one you mean

yeah yeah yeah yeah

it's another punishment

and you do it really hard

really really really hard

so if you want to play game with me

if there is another punishment like this, you need to watch out

I have no mercy

I mean..

game is game

maybe people think I'm a terrible person

you are a terrible person

So I think my pinch and a punch for the first of the month is quite cute

compared to the Korean abusive flicks in the forehead

and then the whack whack whack

it's pretty cute. you can do it cute way

no, if anyone has experienced that, they know what it's really like

A small Am lick over 3 OCTAVES - Learning Gypsy Jazz - Duration: 5:59.

Hi, Clément here

So today I will show you a small lick in Am

based on a pattern repeating itself octave to octave

It's nice because you play it in loop

it allows you to work your right hand technique

and your left hand technique

This lick, I picked it up on the guitarist Benoit Convert

it was on the CD "1910 des Doigts de l'Homme"

I don't remember exactly which piece it was

but the guitarist was Benoit Convert

so I will show you this lick

and then I will explain its composition

and how you can play it

This lick is built on a Am7/6 arpeggio

Let me show you, we begin on a Am triad

we add the seventh

with a small chromaticism

then we play the sixth

So here we have the seventh, the G

the sixth, the F#

So, 5th fret / E string

8th fret / E string

7th fret / A string

10th fret / A string

8th fret / A string

and 9th fret / A string

so if we do this

we would have a Am7 arpeggio

and if we would do this

we would have a Am6 arpeggio

So it's a bit of a hybrid arpeggio between Am6 and Am7

which is the specificity of this lick

And then we repeat the exact same notes one octave higher

and again one octave higher

and at the end there is one more note

at the end instead of playing

12, 15, 13, 14

we will play 12, 15, 12, 13, 14

So I play the part going up again

and then we go back down

and when we come down, then we use a Am6 arpeggio

with a little repeating pattern

This pattern maybe you recognized it if you watched my videos these last few weeks

it's similar to the one I showed you on the diminished arpeggio

You can click on the 'i' for info in the top right corner

to see that lick on a diminished arpeggio

The pattern

is this one

So I will just show you the Am6 arpeggio

and then you'll find the pattern by yourself

or you will check out the PDF on the website

so we are on the 14th fret / E string

so here it's only the Am6 arpeggio

14th fret / E string

12th fret / E string

13th fret / B string

10th fret / B string

11th fret / G string

9th fret / G string

10th fret / D string

7th fret / D string

9th fret / A string

7th fret / A string

8th fret / E string

and 5th fret / E string

So this lick you can play it in loop, going up and down, etc.

At the beginning play it very slowly

and then you can speed it up gradually

it's a really nice exercise for your right and left hand

at the same time you work on the Am6/7 arpeggio as I said it's a bit of a hybrid arpeggio

and that's it

So here is a nice Am lick

As always work on it in multiple keys

learn it in Gm, Cm, Dm, etc.

Don't work on it only in Am

That's it for this video, if you liked it think about giving it a thumb-up

right below if you are on Youtube

if you are on the website, you can download the PDF sheet with the lick's tablature

at the end of the page, below the article

Philippines - Hand in pocket - Duration: 5:51.

Philippines - Hand in pocket

In the Philippines you notice that you are constantly putting your hand in your pocket.

You are always having to fork out money for every little thing that happens.

Very different to Australia, and something that takes some getting used to.

The Philippines - A cash society

Yes, the Philippines is most definitely a cash-society.

EFTPOS terminals are rare, as are credit card facilities.

Even at Down Under Visa, we don't have a credit card terminal or even one of those swiping

things which makes an imprint on a form.

Down Under Visa, yes...but can't use your visa card in our office.

We rely on direct EFT deposits into our account or the ever-convenient PayPal for payments.

In Australia, I could go for days without ever reaching for my wallet.

And I could get away with a debit card (ATM card) for just about everything.

Buy fuel.....buy the groceries at the supermarket, etc?

Use the card, put in the PIN, and you're in business.

Not so easy here.

You really need to have cash with you, or you could find yourself caught short at an

inconvenient time.

The other issue is that of security.

Not sure I would want to wave a credit card around at every little place that accepted

them.

In SM or a major hotel?

Sure.

But in a local 7-11 or at the Petron?

I'd be a bit concerned about where the numbers may end up.

ATM and credit card security

The Philippines is a third-world country.

There are less "have's" and more "have-not's".

Plenty of people who live day to day, and lacking marketable and employable skills many

turn to crime.

And you are a white man....a rich foreigner......so that makes you a target.

You will stand out regardless of how unobtrusive you try to be.

So you need to watch your cash, and most importantly your credit cards and ATM cards.

They could easily drain your account if they can access your ATM.

And whilst you can generally get money back from fraudulent use of your credit card, you

still need to prove it.

ATM cards?

You want to make sure you only use them in safe places, and that means genuine ATM machines

that have not been tampered with.

Dodgy-looking solitary machines out the front of minor malls somewhere?

Or in places that are not well-lit?

If someone puts a card-skimmer onto the card slot, then you could have all your data as

well as your PIN scanned and stolen.

So use some commonsense.

Paying cash for everything in the Philippines

Nearly everything here is done for cash.

Australia still has many free things, especially those small things which seem too petty to

ask for money for.

I've even had glasses (eye glasses......not drinking glasses) repaired by optometrists

in Australia for free.

You get air in the car tyres for free.

You get a JP to witness documents for free.

And whilst it may depend on the church, you can get baptised, married and buried all for

free.

Not so in the Philippines!

Get the priest to bless your house, and the hand goes out!

I have difficulty in adjusting to that, I can tell you.

I suppose much of this must come down to whether you generally have enough that (a) you don't

need to chase small amounts of money, plus (b) you have a bit of an abundance and are

therefore reasonably happy to share.

Here whilst the Filipino friend, neighbor or relative may have enough goodness in his

heart to want to help you, he may not have the abundance to share or the cash to do that

thing.

That means if they collect you from the airport, chances are the van needs to be paid for.

If they have you around for dinner, maybe they can't afford the lechon manok or the

coca cola that they want to offer you.

Have a headache?

Chances are there's no paracetamol in the house and someone needs to rush off and buy

two.

And other issue is genuine poverty.

The person who can only get a job collecting P5 for use of the public toilet, or for guiding

you into traffic when you leave the mall, or for putting air in your tyres, that might

be essential for feeding his kids.

No one gives tips in Australia, because people are paid well.

Not so in the Philippines.

It's pretty well accepted that those who can give, should give.

I's rarely very much.

So be prepared to share some of the abundance that you have with those who do not.

Hi, I´m trying my new camera tripod.

So let´s look at my new scrapbook stuffs.

It´s difficult to see - the white card is embossed

And here are my favourite papers.

These are textured- I like it.

Ok, so here the kit comes...

stamps first

there are some plants

but they are as one piece like a background... maybe I will cut them

polaroid frames as mini album

frames are pretty thick- perfect for mixed media

the rings look small...

...but fit perfect

chipboard words

they don´l look nice at the back side

but the front side is nice and that is important ;)

look good

and papers at the end

they are double sided

and 3pcs of each design

I don´t like they´re very glossy...

... but maybe it will be ok in working

I like that blue papers the most
