Sloth's Tragic Real-Life Story - Duration: 6:09.

Even if you don't know his name, chances are you know one iconic role played by John Matuszak...

"Sloth!"

No matter how tragic Sloth's life was at the hands of the Fratelli family, though, it doesn't

come close to the wild ups and downs of John Matuszak's real life.

Beneath the prosthetics, Matuszak spent years struggling with drugs and wildly reckless

behavior that led to his untimely death at the age of 38.

Here's Sloth's tragic real-life story.

Drugs, booze, and football

Before he ever set foot in front of a camera, John Matuszak was known first and foremost

as a football player.

The Houston Oilers made Matusak the number one overall draft pick in 1973 - and rightfully

so.

He measured in at 6 foot 8 and 280 pounds!

In fact, the only thing in the locker room bigger than Matuszak was his drug habit.

In 1970s slang, football players with a heavy amphetamine habit were called "747s" because

of how high they were "flying."

Matuszak, well, they jokingly called him "John Glenn."

As in the astronaut.

But the drugs couldn't keep The Tooz floating forever.

He was let go by the Houston Oilers, then dropped from the Kansas City Chiefs after

coach Paul Wiggin found him unconscious from an overdose of whiskey and pills.

He then wound up on the Washington Redskins, but coach George Allen gave him the boot over

concerns of his diet of "vodka and Valium.

"One for me.

That's the breakfast of champions there."

Rings and handcuffs

After the Redskins, Matuszak wound up with the Oakland Raiders.

The joke at the time was that "You didn't have to be a convicted felon to play for the

Raiders, but it helped," and Matuszak fit right in with the infamous beefed-up leatherheads

of the late '70s Raiders.

He was a key player in two Super Bowl wins for the team, first in 1977, and then in 1981,

but even that kind of success didn't stop his drug-fueled antics, like the time he was

arrested for driving drunk and firing a gun at street signs.

A few nights before his second Super Bowl win, he earned a $1000 fine for partying,

but considering the team as a whole racked up a legendary $15,000 in fines before that

Super Bowl win, it isn't hard to argue that he had certainly found a home for himself,

of sorts, on that team.

World's Strongest Man

During some off-season time, Matuszak entered the 1978 World's Strongest Man competition

because he was bored.

Like you do.

By then, he had beefed up to 315 lbs, and while he didn't win it all, he did place 9th.

That's already pretty impressive, but even more so because, according to his Oakland

Raiders teammates, he never actually trained specifically for the contest — he just used

his natural brawn to do things like bend an iron bar around his neck.

That's pretty intense.

Image problems

After retiring from football, Matuszak opened up to discuss more intimate parts of himself

to try to separate himself from the persona he created as an utterly terrifying defensive

lineman.

In interviews gathered by UPI in 1982, he discussed the differences between his monstrous

public persona and the man he actually was in his personal life.

He played Santa Claus and taught football to kids at summer camp.

He regularly visited his sister in the hospital when she was struggling with cystic fibrosis

(which two of his brothers died from).

Few of those stories made the press, however.

People just wanted to hear about him getting drunk and rowdy.

It was the legacy he lived with.

Painkillers

Being a maniac on field makes some good press and intimidates the competition, but it's

disastrous on the human body.

After retirement, Matuszak struggled with physical pain that led to a full-blown painkiller

addiction after his football career.

He would struggle with that addiction for the half-dozen or so years he lived post-retirement.

In all likelihood, his short but intense football career ate him alive.

Acting heavyweight

Considering his short acting career, Matuszak appeared in a lot of films that either did

well at the time or developed cult status.

He starred in North Dallas Forty, which is still considered one of the best football

movies ever made.

He of course has The Goonies under his belt, a film where he was genuinely loved by everyone

involved.

He also appeared in Ringo Starr's film Caveman and had a part in the cult classic sci-fi

comedy Ice Pirates.

One of his longest recurring roles was on Aaron Spelling's short-lived Hollywood Beat,

where he played a gay bar manager called George Grinsky.

Playing a gay character with sensitivity in the Reagan years was a pretty gutsy move,

and critics at the time skewered him for it, saying he was the "latest casualty of [a]

sensitivity epidemic."

It really seems like nobody at the time would just let him try to succeed in anything that

didn't involve him brutalizing people.

Traffic assault

Even in the midst of the most success he'd ever experienced, Matuszak struggled with

a crisis of identity.

Also, drugs.

He was still on a lot of drugs.

A couple of years before he died, Matuszak got in a car wreck and punched the other driver

unconscious before fleeing the scene.

Considering the work he was involved with at the time was the action flick One Man Force

and the cop drama Miami Vice, you have to wonder if there was some overlap between reality

and fantasy at that point.

He was delving back into his reckless ways even as he was finally being recognized for

the talented, sensitive man he wanted to show the world.

"Sloth love Chunk"

A tragic end

Throughout his life, John Matuszak never hesitated to dive headfirst into any challenge.

But he appeared to have his life under control in the late '80s, when he wrote in his 1987

autobiography, Cruisin' With the Tooz: "I abstain from cocaine, and any other foreign

substance, entirely now.

I take nothing, not even sleeping pills.

I've hit damn near bottom.

I don't ever want to go back."

Nevertheless, Matuszak passed away in 1989 at the far-too-early age of 38 from an accidental

overdose of Darvon, a prescription painkiller.

Part of what contributed to his death was an enlarged heart, too big for even his giant

body.

It was the heart so many people came to love.

8 Totally Underrated Box Office Flops - Duration: 7:38.

The scale typically used to justify a movie's success is the amount of money it earns at

the box office, and that's understandable.

If one movie earned more than another, that means more people saw it.

But, that definitely doesn't mean it's better.

Sometimes, truly terrific films flop hard as far as the bean-counters are concerned.

Here are some of the best box office bombs.

Edge of Tomorrow

Without a proper marketing strategy that gets butts in seats, movies can fail at the box

office — which is what happened to Doug Liman's 2014 film Edge of Tomorrow, based

on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel All You Need is Kill.

The trailers looked like just another generic sci-fi flick, except this time with a bit

of Groundhog Day mixed in.

"What the hell?"

But Edge of Tomorrow is actually a whole lot more than that.

It's a sci-fi film that channeled D-Day into a future war against an alien race with

the ability to reset the day.

That is until Tom Cruise comes along and breaks their winning streak.

It's basically a video game brought to live action, in the best way possible.

Spawn, advance, die, repeat.

Despite great reviews, Edge of Tomorrow was a box office dud.

And make no mistake, the bulk of the film's failure hinged on its botched marketing campaign.

The studio basically retitled it Live.

Die.

Repeat when it was released on video.

If that doesn't scream bad marketing, nothing does.

Dredd

Comic book movies are all the rage in Hollywood these days, but that's no guarantee for

success.

Dredd from 2012 is the perfect example.

Despite solid reviews from critics, it only grossed $35.6 million against a $50 million

budget.

The film takes a few liberties with the source material, but there's no denying it captures

the attitude of the comics pretty well.

It's a brutal work of art, and the movie that fans of the comics had waited decades

to see.

Plus, it features a motorcycle chase scene that rivals The Matrix Reloaded.

That's a pretty sweet bike, right?

Too bad it wasn't sweet enough to greenlight a sequel...yet

"Negotiation's over."

Zodiac

The mystery of the Zodiac killer is a tale that's arguably as intriguing and perplexing

as Jack the Ripper, which is why so many people have tried to dramatize the story — including

David Fincher, who adapted Robert Graysmith's crime book Zodiac for the big screen in 2007.

Laying out an extensive, in-depth case like the Zodiac killer for a general audience is

difficult, but Fincher crafts a compelling retelling of not only the murders, but also

the manhunt surrounding them.

"I'm not the Zodiac."

Couple that with a stellar cast that included Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Jake

Gyllenhaal, and you've got a great drama.

Unfortunately, the film grossed just $84.8 million at the box office, but found new life

on home video, scoring profits of around $20 million.

Hugo

The director responsible for hard-R films like Goodfellas, The Departed, and The Wolf

of Wall Street isn't exactly who you'd expect to direct a PG movie, but Martin Scorsese

did a great job with the dramatic adventure Hugo.

Hugo received stellar reviews from critics, but that wasn't enough to propel the movie

into box office glory.

It grossed almost $186 million worldwide against an estimated production budget of $150 to

$170 million.

Although it failed to reach the box office heights, Hugo is still a brilliant film and

a rare look into the rise of automation in the early 20th century.

Scorsese blended steampunk elements into a historical film with a Parisian backdrop — a

combination seldom seen in Hollywood, drawing cues from A Trip to the Moon and The Impossible

Voyage rather than modern superhero flicks.

And that's what makes it beautiful.

The Road

Based on the novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy, The Road was released in 2009 and

grossed a mere $27.6 million against a $25 million production budget.

But the fact that the film made it out at all is a miracle.

Anyone who's read a McCarthy novel knows how difficult they are to translate onto the silver

screen.

Seriously, it's just a whole lot of that.

How do you show audiences that the film they're watching is set in a post-apocalyptic world?

Simple: make everything dark and gray.

There's rarely been a more haunting representation of a post-apocalyptic world, and that's why

this film is so important to the genre.

It isn't about why the world is the way it is.

Instead, it's about the father-son relationship of the main characters.

Sure, it might be bleak, but it's a story well worth seeing.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

Based on Patrick O'Brian's naval novel, Master and Commander was meant to be a war movie

blockbuster.

Unfortunately for Russell Crowe, who starred in the often forgotten film, it was released

the same year as the cartoonish, non-war blockbuster, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the

Black Pearl, which introduced Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow to the world.

Turns out, there wasn't enough room for two adventures on the high seas.

"I'm Captain jack Sparrow"

But forget all that junk.

Master and Commander is a feast for the eyes, depicting an often forgotten period of European

history, and it does so remarkably well.

Unlike many other historical dramas, it gets the real-life details mostly right.

And Crowe brings it all home with his exceptional performance.

The fact that the film received a whopping ten Oscar nominations underscores its excellence,

and legendary film critic Roger Ebert gave the film a rare perfect score, saying "it

achieves the epic without losing sight of the human."

Speed Racer

The Wachowskis made a name for themselves by writing and directing The Matrix trilogy.

When it came time for them to tackle a new project, they chose to bring the classic Speed

Racer series to life on the big screen.

With the Wachowskis at the helm and the name recognition of the property, it was a shock

to see Speed Racer flop at the box office, grossing $93.9 million on a budget of $120

million.

"Whoa."

The film's cartoonish visuals may have turned off some critics, but for franchise fans,

it was exactly what the film needed to capture the awe of the original anime.

What's interesting, though, is that the movie includes themes of politics and corruption,

as well as general issues in society, and those themes unfold on a number of levels.

Yet it never forgets that it's still a kids' movie.

Speed Racer didn't fall into the trend of gritty re-imaginings that plagued the 2000s.

Instead, it takes a funny, witty, and light-hearted charm that's exactly what fans wanted.

It's just too bad more people didn't see it.

The BFG

Steven Spielberg ranks among the greatest living filmmakers, and the fact that he's

the highest-grossing director of all time only bolsters his legacy.

He's the guy that pretty much created the summer blockbuster, after all.

But none of that helped The BFG gross more than $183.2 million worldwide on an estimated

$140 million budget in 2016.

The movie was a recipe for success.

It was directed by Spielberg, distributed by Disney, and is based on the famed Roald

Dahl novel of the same name.

So why it failed to break $200 million is a mystery.

Monetary problems aside, The BFG is a criminally underrated film.

Despite its big budget, fantastical elements, and summer release, it was still far from

your traditional summer tentpole.

Basically, it was a big-budget fantasy, without the extravaganza.

It's not so much about the spectacle as it is about the journey, and that's where audiences

will find themselves captivated by Mark Rylance's outstanding motion-capture performance as

well as the irresistible charm of Hollywood newcomer Ruby Barnhill.

Do yourself a big favor and check out The BFG, ASAP.

7 Style Mistakes That Are Making You Look Old - Duration: 5:38.

Just like your makeup choices, your clothing style also needs to evolve as you age.

Still wearing styles that looked great on you 15 years ago will totally make you look

older than you actually are.

But that's not all.

Here are some style mistakes that are sure to age you up.

Way up!

"What do I have to do for you to have sex with me?

Do you want me to dress up like Thor?

I'll dress up like Thor!

I'll dress up like Iron Man.

What do they do?

I'll do it"

Outfit of the day

Don't make the mistake of investing your hard-earned dollars in trends that'll be gone next season.

Unless you have an unlimited budget, shelling out for flash-in-the-pan styles is just wasting

your money.

"It's a lot of ...under-teet but I think I'm getting away with it."

"Also it's um.. on backwards."

Instead, invest in styles that will remain timeless classics, and be used for years to

come.

Celebrity wardrobe stylist Alana Kelen advises, "Look to trends that are here to stay.

Leather, military, dark florals, plaid, and slimmer cuts such as tailored pants and pencil

skirts."

Still trying to rock those stirrup leggings?

Blast from the past

If you're like most women, styles that fit you when you were 16, 21, or 29 probably don't

fit the same today.

They may be too tight, or they may be baggy and loose in all the wrong places.

Or things may fit just fine but look totally wrong for your age.

"Real talk?"

"You got a uniboob, your posture sucks and your clothes fit weird because you wear the

wrong sized bra."

Boom.

Real talk."

If you really want to keep the piece in your wardrobe, get it tailored professionally so

it actually fits your current proportions.

If that's not an option, then donate it — or sell it online or to a secondhand store.

"Let it go, let it go."

Long hair don't care

As we age, we begin to lose fat from our faces.

While you might be all about it, you need to make sure your haircut evolves along with

the shape of your face.

The reason that you see older women sporting shorter "mom" haircuts is because they simply

look better!

"Yes, the cut!"

"You know the haircut that all moms have, that's a soft waterfall in the front, but

knives in the back?"

You don't have to go full "Granny" with the super-short perm and rollers routine, though.

Simply avoid letting your hair get too long, which can make your naturally thinner face

look unhealthy.

Choose bouncy and full layers that will frame your face and accentuate your features.

"I want you to know, no matter what you do, you're gonna die, just like everybody else."

Fake 'n bake

Even if that beach-babe look was all the rage when we were younger, the baked complexion

and wrinkles you get from prolonged ultraviolet exposure is definitely out.

Want proof?

Here:.

"She's got a little bit of a sunburn, but it was the only weekend that was warm."

Unless you want to end up looking like "Tan Mom," make sure to use a strong sunscreen

on your face and exposed body parts every day.

Still crave that bronze glow?

Go for a spray tan or invest in a high-quality sunless tanning lotion.

You'll get a natural-looking tan, and you won't have to worry about looking like a

pumpkin.

Size matters

Just because you fit perfectly into a size six a decade ago doesn't mean you still

do today.

Sure, you may be able to squeeze into that pair of jeans and get them buttoned up.

But if it's too tight or uncomfortable, it'll feel awkward and make you look older — not

younger.

Don't get caught up in obsessing over the size that's on the tag.

Focus on finding clothes that fit well.

And don't be afraid to rock the styles you enjoy — like mini-skirts or skinny jeans!

Just make sure they fit you properly when you purchase them.

On the flip side, don't cover yourself up with loose, baggy clothing.

You might not feel confident in figure-hugging clothing, but wearing threads that are too

big for you will make you look boxy and larger than you are.

If your clothes feel comfortable to wear, you will feel more comfortable and confident

while wearing them, and confidence is the most youth-enhancing tool in your arsenal!

"Cuz I slay, I slay, I slay, I slay"

Cinch it

Sometimes an item in your wardrobe is baggy by necessity — like a flowing dress, or

overcoat.

But straight lines from your armpits down to your knees can make you look like you're

wearing a shapeless sack instead of a dress.

"Where are the belts for this?"

"Why is no one ready?"

Rock your curves by adding a cute belt to that dress or coat.

It will accentuate your shape and let you still wear those comfortable items in your

wardrobe without looking like you're wearing a muumuu.

"Darling, shall we?

We have to get to the beauty department and God knows how long that's going to take."

"Awww."

Shape up

Focus on accentuating the positive when it comes to your daily outfit choices.

As Alana Kelen advises,

"A great rule of thumb is that if you're wearing a skinny silhouette on the bottom, choose

a more forgiving, flowy piece on top.

Or flip it: If wearing a tighter top, add a looser, flared skirt or a wide-leg pant

to balance out the proportions."

For example, skinny jeans look youthful and fresh when paired with a brightly colored

tunic, but they may look like you're trying too hard to be 18 again if you wear them with

a tight camisole tank top.

"I wish I could tell you it gets better, but it doesn't get better."

"You get better."

Tuck these tips in your pocket, and get out there and rock your stylish self!

You'll for sure tap into the real fountain of youth — your own flawless confidence.

I ALMOST MISSED MY FLIGHT DUE TO SURFING - Duration: 6:05.

Obviously, there's nothing here

but well, since I never come here and it was pretty early

I figured I should check and see if it was randomly breaking

I didn't check the forecast or the tide, so...

it is what it is

it is super small dude!

we have to keep driving!

this was a short session

the water was freezing!

conditions were better than what we thought, but water was freezing

and now I have to rush, I have to catch a flight I don't want to miss

I just got some cash for the rent

because today is 1st, I have to pay

you don't want to know how much is rent in San Francisco...

... and I just realized

that my car's turn lights don't work

I am going to try to fix them

and still make my flight, but I am already pretty late

I made it! Though pretty tight

less than one hour before boarding

Well, this is time number 24 that I cross the Atlantic

Yeah, it's the 24th

and I'm going to give you 3 tips

for those of you that are not used to these long flights

1st: wear comfortable clothes

jeans are useless

wear something like a tracksuit

it's the closest you can get to pj's

and it's the best thing for sleeping

jeans to sleep: NO

2nd: Comfortable shoes

because you're going to have to take them off

particularly for security control in the US

and it's a pain if you cannot take then off easily

For instance, I love the "Old Skools"

but never for flying!

and third..

this thing to keep your passport and important documents

and you will say:

"Nah I never lose it, I never lose it!"

Well...

Until you lose it

like Dane Reynold and you end up locked up in jail

so, particularly when you come to countries like the US

which are outside of the European Union

make sure you're always carrying your passport

It's been 4 hours of flying...

still 6 left!

10 hours later, we're here in Europe

I landed in Copenhagen, Denmark

I have like 6 hours

until my next flight, to Madrid

so I'm going to visit this city a little bit

let's conclude today's vlog

a very, very long and exhausting day

if you have any comment

suggestion or complain

like always, drop a comment

and I will listen to you, I GUESS

if there are waves

while I am in Spain

I will probably shoot something to show you the waves

otherwise, I'll see you in California

I have some fun trips planned

so I really hope you enjoy the next videos!

greetings from Denmark!

Ep237- iPad Stand الحلقة ٢٣٧ حامل الآيباد - Duration: 2:36.

Today i will be making an iPad stand, a gift for Sheikh Salman al-Awdah

Now i will cut this piece into half and i will glue this piece in the middle to give it a beautiful look

Now i will make a hole here in the depth of 1cm in order to help reach the home button

I changed the blade into dado set and made it in the width of 3/8 to make a tilting position for the ipad to rest

And now the finishing by using oil.

After I have added two cots of oil and left it to dry completely. And now I will add a little bit of wax to give it more protection and shine. To do that I will cover the whole stand with the wax and leave it for about 10 minutes.

Using a clean paper wipe completely

New upload schedule & our new Patreonpage - Duration: 3:21.

Hello everybody!

Today we want to inform you about some major changes on our channel.

Tell us in the comments: what do you think about these updates?

This will help us to improve our content even better than using YouTube's Analytics Tools

During the last weeks, we have thought about how we can improve our videos for you.

Perhaps you have already noticed our experiments.

Especially the length varied a lot recently.

We've noticed that our "Let's Show" videos are often way too long

which results in boring videos. The reason for that is

because in most cases, we explain how something works.

We've decided to put these explanations into separate videos now.

Also, we will try to add captions from today =)

This will not always be the case, but the videos with English titles will have subtitles for you guys!

The videos may become shorter now,

nevertheless, we think cutting out unnecessary pauses and scenes are a huge improvement for the quality,

From tomorrow on, we will upload our videos regularly based on a schedule.

This is the most significant change.

Our videos will be published on two days every week now.

Every Monday: "Minecraft Map Making Monday"

These videos will keep you up to date on our current map project, e.g. "The Phonecall".

[Info: We probably won't add subtitles for these videos. They are too complex to translate]

Every Friday, we will upload our "Map Mapking Quicktip".

A short and compact "how to"-video.

{Topics}

They are quite similar to this video here.

And in between, we will continue our "random" uploads.

As we have mentioned in the beginning: Leave your feedback below in the comment section.

There's something else... please don't leave us now :D

You can support us on Patreon if you like to.

What is Patreon? And how does it work?

Just in case if don't know this crowdfunding page,

here's a short explanation.

Depending on how much you pledge, you will get different rewards back from us.

For example

you will get early access to our maps

and access to Patreon-only content.

We've posted the "The Phonecall" background story recently, for example.

And there will be some behind the scenes!

Of course, we will mention you as Patreon supporter in our credits.

Why do we need the money?

We have monthly fees to pay for our website

which holds our downloads, generators and more...

The most expensive thing until now was the microphone.

It was necessary to buy it for having a good audio quality.

So... We don't only put our free time in this channel,

but also quite some amounts of money.

Don't forget that we cannot work during the time we are making videos and creations.

So it would be awesome if some of our costs can be paid with your help.

We don't expect our viewers to pay everything, but every dollar is worth a huge hug from us :)

IMPORTANT!

You will only pay when we make a major map release.

As long the map is not finished, you won't pay anything.

This will also motivate us to continue our work.

Make sure you check out the page and all the different rewards we've set up there.

It doesn't matter how much you pledge.

Even if it's only one dollar:

The crowd will make the difference.

Thank you for your attention.

Tomorrow, we will start with the first part of "MMMM".

See you next time!
