Report: Big Changes Coming to Trump White House in 2018
Big changes are expected at the White House in 2018.
Shuffling the top hierarchy of the White House staff, Johnny DeStefano, a senior administration
official, will be assuming greater responsibilities beginning in 2018, per an Axios report.
DeStefano, who already enjoys great influence in the Trump administration, will be overseeing
the White Houses political operation an important endeavor as the 2018 midterms elections
quickly approach.
According to sources with direct knowledge of the changes, DeStano will be taking on
the job responsibilities of deputy chief of staff Rick Dearborn, who is expected to leave
the White House at some point next year.
Another item up for revision is the Trump administrations political operation, currently
headed by Bill Stepien.
Stepien, a seasoned political operative who served as an aide to New Jersey Gov. Chris
Christie, is widely judged by his White House colleagues not to be performing at a satisfactory
level.
Regarded as a quiet man who holds little influence with Republicans on Capitol Hill, Stepien
was viewed as a major factor for several GOP fumbles this year, such as failed health care
reform in Congress and the handling of Roy Moores Senate candidacy in Alabama.
A tense meeting regarding the White Houses political operation resulted in former Trump
campaign manager Corey Lewandowski berating Stepien for lackluster results.
Nobody knows what the f hes done or is doing to advance the presidents agenda
politically, a senior administration figure, who wished to remain anonymous, said.
Theres no follow through on initiatives.
DeStefano, on the other hand, is regarded as a skillful political operative, having
worked as a senior adviser to former Speaker of the House John Boehner and assisted the
Republican National Committee in amassing a 2016 voter file and political database.
The White House will utilize the well-connected DeStefano to keep relationships with Republicans
around the United States.
The rising operative is expected to leading the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, where
he will maintain the White Houses relationships with Republican leaders across the country,
such as governors, state legislators, mayors and tribal leaders.
DeStefano will also begin leading the Office of Public Liaison, the Trump administrations
outreach to interest groups, and is set to keep his current role overseeing personnel
appointments across the White House.
A lot of responsibility for one individual, but not surprising for a White House that
has seen many turnovers in its first year.
Officials hope to steady the ship by placing the right people in pivotal leadership positions.
In fact, staff turnover in the Trump White House has been unprecedented in the modern
era.
The current administrations 34 percent first-year turnover rate is double that of
former President Reagans 17 percent in 1981 the closest rate comparable in the
past four decades, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Twenty-one of the 61 senior officials tracked by the Brookings Institution has either resigned,
been reassigned or outright fired.
Notable departures include national security adviser Michael Flynn, senior adviser Steve
Bannon, chief of staff Reince Priebus and White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
Perhaps the most famous staffer was White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci
who lasted just one week on the job.
Administration members still refer to that time period as Scaramucci week.

Merry Christmas everybody! If you're not Dutch, please turn on the subtitles.
Welcome to a new party vlog.
Tonight I'm going to We Are Hardstyle and I'm quite excited.
For 2 reasons. 3, reasons I mean.
First of all, the event is in Gorinchem, which is really close by for me.
Second, the lineup is absolutely insane, I got a lot of respect for this.
And last, so many great people will be there!
Of course I'm picking up Nicky in a second.
Jaimy and the others from Switzerland are there tonight.
Mike and Marloes as well, and many more. Too many to count.
So I'm excited for this. I dressed in style.
I'll show you in a bit.
I'm going to grab my stuff now, see you there!
We have arrived!
And now the set I'm most interested in: B-Front, Ran-D and Phuture Noize
It's great so far by the way.
Time for some food!
I had so much fun tonight.
I believe it was the first time such a party was organised in these event halls.
Even so, the sound was great, the show was absolutely amazing.
If you enjoyed this give that thumbs-up and subscribe for more party & festival vlogs.
I'll see you next time, byebye!

The Ozone Layer Was Doomed Until a Handful of Scientists Stood Up to Power - Duration: 5:20.
Getting every nation on Earth to agree on an environmental issue is tough, but it has
been done before.
The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer — or just the Montreal Protocol
— is the most successful step we've taken to protect our planet to date, but getting
there wasn't easy.
When you hear about the ozone layer you probably think of aerosol cans, but the story actually
begins with air travel.
In the early-1970s jet setting around the world took off, and curious scientists started
gathering data on how airplanes were affecting Earth's atmosphere.
Ozone is a vital molecule of three oxygen atoms that exists mainly in the stratosphere,
but it's very rare: there are only about three molecules of ozone for every 10 million
molecules of air, Still those .3 parts per million of ozone play a critical role of absorbing
biologically damaging UV-B sunlight.
At the time, ozone had already been studied, but Frank Sherwood Rowland and Mario Molina
threw ozone into the spotlight. They posited that chlorine atoms from refrigerators and
AC units might have an adverse effect on our atmosphere.
And boy were they right.
It turns out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) can actually float all the way up to the ozone
layer.
And when they get there, the CFCs run rampant!
Ultraviolet light breaks a chlorine atom off the CFC.
That chlorine in turn breaks an oxygen molecule off of ozone and binds with it, until another
free oxygen atom comes along and kicks the chlorine off on its lonesome.
The spurned atom then continues the cycle of breaking down more ozone molecules into
oxygen molecules.
Basically, CFCs are serious home wreckers, and they were wrecking our home, planet Earth.
The study called out man-made chemicals for contributing to the problem, And as you might
expect, there was backlash from the people who made those chemicals.Because some of these
were commonly used in refrigeration and air conditioning, industry groups had a lot to
lose, and resisted regulation.
Industry representatives said it was unnecessary to take action against useful chemicals over
what many felt was flimsy evidence.
Gee that sounds familiar.
But the scientific evidence kept mounting and a report from the National Academy of
Sciences, published in 1976 solidified, the link between CFCs and the depleted ozone layer.
So, of course, everyone jumped to action right away!
Just kidding, we waited until the problem got really bad.
In 1985, researchers found the ozone layer over the South Pole had depleted by about
40 percent in just a decade.
Even NASA hadn't noticed, because the programs they were using were set to ignore what they
assumed were impossible ozone measurements.
NASA ignored a giant hole because they thought it was impossible.
Unable to ignore the problem any longer, 28 nations, including most of the largest CFC
producers, signed on to the Vienna Conventions, establishing guidelines for negotiating international
regulations on substances harmful to ozone.
But it wasn't enough.
About two years later The Montreal Protocol was drafted.
Designed to reduce the production and consumption of substances harming atmospheric ozone, it
held signing nations responsible to gradually scaling back the use of nearly 100 chemicals.
The atmosphere-harming substances became controlled, and the protocol laid out a binding agreement
to stemming their use.
We were finally taking the environment seriously.
Can you imagine that happening now?
Can you?
The treaty has been adjusted and amended a number of times since.
It's also been changed to account for unforeseen side effects.
Hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, were introduced as a chemical to take the place of CFCs in
things like refrigerators and air conditioners, and while they don't hurt the ozone they
are greenhouse gases that trap heat far more efficiently than carbon dioxide.
Once that was known, a phase out plan for HFCs was added into the Montreal Protocol.
On September 16, 2009, the Vienna Conventions and the Montreal Protocol became the first
universally ratified treaties in UN history.
Now, 30 years later, the results of the Montreal Protocol are clear.
The ozone hole over the South Pole is healing, plus a new study has found an encouraging
side effect: a significant drop in greenhouse gas emissions in the United States!
They found, prohibition on these chemicals eliminated the equivalent of 170 million tonnes
of carbon dioxide emissions annually, a level never anticipated in the original treaty.
The team estimates that by 2025 the US will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent
of 500 million tonnes of CO2 every year compared to 2005 levels.
The Montreal Protocol worked, thanks to the cooperation of all 197 signing nations.
If history were to repeat itself, now would be a great time.
Global temperatures are still rising, but The Paris Agreement, designed to keep global
temperature rise below the 2-degree tipping point is facing some … shall we say… pushback
from one signatory specifically.
But, if anything, the Montreal Protocol shows that if we pull together we can make a global
change that benefits everyone.
Some countries are doing better than others in the fight against climate change.
We did a video on whether China is taking the right steps; check it out right here.
Do you think it's possible to undertake another climate agreement like the Montreal
Protocol?

Old and New Camera Comparison - Duration: 12:06.
Good morning, everyone!
Hope everyone is doing great after that Christmas Day chaos
I'm still alive so we count that as a bonus
Today, I am super super ecstatic and you're probably wondering why I'm looking that away
Today, we're gonna be comparing 2 cameras: the new versus the old which is
on my left right now so we're going to split the screen right now
I said let's split the screen right now
Alrighty, that was a little more difficult than I expected
but we got this, we got this, all right
The first thing that you should see right away is the video quality
This new camera which is Canon EOS m6
It's a pretty long name
versus Olympus om-d and
this was bought back in 2008-2009 by my husband
while this is bought before Christmas, last month, I believe, I don't remember
Yeah, last month or, anyway, doesn't matter, doesn't matter
Before we move on, we're on this new camera's sound quality so if you don't
really care about the sound quality as much because you're either like me
you're deaf or you just don't plain out, flat out don't care, I will post the
stamp, time-stamp where you can skip over sound quality review
Now, like I said, crisp, clear video quality
What's the other one? The screen, the screen
part where I, I told you that I've complained a little bit about the old camera where
it doesn't flip up or down or sideways while this new camera which
I thought it's going to be flip down screen, it's not, it's a flip up screen
and I'd actually don't mind it because if it's at right level, I don't mind it
It's just a little bizarre because I can see myself and I'm like holy moly
the video quality is so crisp but I got to show you the difference between the
screen tilt and sound quality so we're going to review the old one first
so and we're going to flip to the sound quality of this old camera
Here we go
Okay, you should hear the significant difference between the new camera and
the old camera sound quality and since it doesn't flip up or down or side,
I said that it tilts at an angle as you can see on this picture right here
It's different and it's really.
Not hard to use, it's just annoying because you don't
know when you're being out of focus or not in the frame or if you're being cut
off because you can't see if there's a frame space
between your head in the car basically where my hand is is basically being cut
off but I can see it and I'm not looking at you in the eyes, I'm so sorry, I kept
checking myself out anyway
and that's been an issue
and before we decided to buy a new camera, we thought
maybe we could try buying a videomicro which is what I have right now
and we thought this would be perfect solution for this old camera
As you can see, it's humongous thing
sitting on top of this old camera, humongous and I thought okay this will work
well, like I said, this old camera is more photographer, photographer?
photography type of camera, it's not meant for videography therefore the mic would
not be able to be plugged into this old camera and that's basically where we decided
you know what, it would be better for me to buy, er, for us to buy a new camera
which is a bonus for him because he gets to take his old camera back
So it's a a win-win situation and
Basically that's a pretty much the story of how we got on to this new camera
Now, let's start reviewing this new camera so we're going to flip to this sound quality and
video, not video, photos of this new camera
This new camera on its own
it looks beautiful, it's beautiful and as you, I'm hoping that
there's a significant difference in sound quality
I'm hoping it sounds clear and crisp
because the photos are super crisp as you saw when I was taking pictures
of this old camera and the videography, it's so crisp and I can't
stop looking at myself right now and it's like the wall is more yellowish
than white and it's amazing and it looks much clearer and like I said it's
amazing and it flips up, not only it flips up, it goes out like you can extend
it out, you can tilt it up, you can tilt it down, you can do whatever if you're
going to do photography with this new camera which it's perfectly fine
because it takes really good pictures
now if the sound quality is not that significant from this old camera
this is where, sorry, excuse me, this is where the videomicro comes in
in which I found out is an issue
it cannot sit on top of this new camera
because it'll be in the way of the flip up screen
so I figured out a new setup for this new camera
which works out so much better anyway
but I just feel bad that it cannot sit on top because if I want to do
vlogging outside, not that I will,
I have to use that setup instead of the one that
sits on the top of the camera
It's not a big deal, not a big deal, I love it so much
that I don't really care
Ho!
All right, I'm trying to think of what else that might be an issue with this
new camera but it's a flip up screen, it has really crisp pictures and videos
and hopefully crisp sound compared to this old camera
I think that's about all of them
I'm sure that once I get used to using this new camera, I'll probably pick
up more but right now, my first impression is pretty darn good compared to this
old camera and I'm incredibly impressed with it, I'm impressed
so I'm sure I'll think of something else but that's pretty much it so I'm sorry
I'm just checking myself out because it's huge, the video quality, it's so much better
Ah, that's my husband, he's home, yay!
Anyway, this is all I have for you today and I hope
you enjoyed this camera review even though it's a little scatterbrained I apologize
I, this is the first time that ever really reviewed cameras myself before
but anyway this is all I have for you today so if you have any questions
either about these cameras, I will link them down in the below in the
description box ,I don't know if I could find
for the old one but I will definitely find one for this new one
along with this videomicro if you're interested
Last time I looked, it wasn't that expensive but I don't know, I
It's been awhile
or if you have any other questions about deaf deaf culture or
whatever, please drop them down in the comment below
and I will see you next Saturday
Bye!
