3-Minute Autism Advice: Confront Your Anxieties. - Duration: 3:01.

Hello, I'm Chris Bonnello from Autistic Not Weird

And this is the next video in my 3-Minute Autism Advice series.

Today I'm focusing on what I believe is the most important thing that an anxious person - autistic or not - can possibly do.

Confront your anxieties.

This video does need a quick disclaimer:

Because I suffer from anxiety issues myself, I know full well that this is not easy advice to follow.

All I can do is tell you my own experience in confronting my anxieties, and why it's worked.

When I was in therapy for my own anxiety, I made a decision.

Each day I was going to do at least one thing that made me nervous.

Whether it was talking to someone, or volunteering somewhere, or even just leaving the house.

Because that's what confronting your anxieties looks like. Sometimes it's standing up in front of big crowds, some days it's just getting out of bed.

I used to be petrified of public speaking. Now I'm a public speaker. And I didn't go from one of those to the other by avoiding opportunities to face my fears.

And this is a video of me going skydiving. I was afraid of it at the time, despite that smile I was putting on.

But now if I went up in that plane a second time- well, I'll still be a little nervous, but I wouldn't call it 'fear' like I did before.

The more you step out of your comfort zone, the bigger your comfort zone gets.

And that's why I believe confronting your anxieties is an essential thing to do:

Not just because I've seen it work for me and for lots of other people I know- but because not confronting your fears can actually be pretty damaging.

You could spend your whole life avoiding the things that make you anxious, being given free passes all the time and devoting your life to feeling nice and comfortable.

But in all fairness, if a car is hurtling towards you and you're too anxious to move

You don't get a free pass. You get hit by a car.

So even though anxious people shouldn't be forced to confront the things that might damage them

Not confronting any of their fears any of the time *is* damaging them.

It's kind of like limiting an Overwatch character by not bringing them into battle, because you don't want them to get hurt.

If you don't enter the arena, don't expect to level up.

The trick is to find ways of confronting your fears that build you up, and make the fears take up less space in your head.

And like I said at the start, it's not meant to be easy. But life experience has taught me that it gets easier every time you do it.

It starts as being 100% scary, but the second time is only 75% scary.

The third time is only 60%, and so on and so on.

I won't lie- even today I get nervous when I'm about to stand up in front of a crowd of people

Even though it's literally my job and I've done it loads of times before.

But now I'm able to look at my anxieties and say 'you know what? I already know I'm going to win.'

You know what the best part of confronting your anxiety is? The bragging rights afterwards.

I'm not much of a show-off, but believe me- it feels *awesome* to tell people 'yeah, I used to be afraid of that, but I'm not anymore.'

So that's it for this video- I hope you found it useful, and there are plenty more advice videos coming.

In the description I've left a link to a whole article I wrote about dealing with anxiety, as well as links to other platforms you can find me on.

And since doing this is now my job, feel free to check out my Patreon rewards if you're interested in supporting me.

I'm Chris Bonnello from Autistic Not Weird- see you next time.

DOCTEUR QUI - Doctor Who Escape Room - A CHAUD ! (Review) - Duration: 2:49.

We did "Docteur Qui" Escape Room,

we didn't finish it,

but it is still time to react "A Chaud"! (Instantly)

The TARDIS has landed at Destination Danger,

aka Torchwood France,

but the Doctor is not on board.

Torchwood agents, meaning you,

are sent to look for him through space and time.

First of all, what is an Escape Room?

It's basically just an escape game.

You are locked in a room and you have to leave in less than one hour by solving enigmas.

When we started to take interest into the game,

we discovered there was a Doctor Who one in Paris.

Obviously, we wanted to try it.

We saw the success rate was very low,

so we have decided to train before.

So, to be ready, we did... twenty.

We kind of fell in love with the concept.

And here we are, we tried Docteur Qui.

So, what did we think about it?

First of all, the reception.

The reception is really important for an Escape Room

because it will put you or not in the right mood.

At Destination Danger, the Game Master immediately recognised us as Doctor Who fans.

Thanks to our T-Shirts.

He adapted the story to be as close as possible to the Whoniverse.

So we started the room on fire and on the right mood.

He was himself a Doctor Who fan. He designed the room himself.

During the final debriefing, he explained us everything about the room's conception and it was nice.

There is something important about Docteur Qui.

The main goal in an escape room, to escape, isn't the main one here.

The goal here is to go as far as possible.

If you think we only say this because we failed,

be aware the success rate is 3%,

so there is a huge challenge.

To fail to leave a room in less than an hour is generally frustrating.

Most of the time, it is because you blocked on a specific enigma.

Here, the enigmas aren't too complicated, but there are many of them.

So you never feel stuck, you progress all the time.

Expect once for us, as we are a bunch of louts.

Thank you Nolwenn to have more patience than the rest of the team.

Despite the theme, it can be done both by fans and outsiders.

But for hardcore fans like us,

we felt like it was sometimes lacking of references in the decorations.

Otherwise, the atmosphere, the look and the immersion are great.

If you never tried an escape room before, don't start with this one.

It is made for the connoisseurs who want some challenge.

Train before on easier rooms.

If you already like the escpae games, try it.

For the challenge, but also to salute the Game Masters' boldness

to make a Doctor Who Escape Room in France knowing the little success of the show here.

Did you try Docteur Qui? Tell us in the comment without spoilers.

Do you have some Escape Rooms to recommend to us? In France, in Europe, or anywhere in the world?

Here is our personal Top 3.

Huge kisses Zarbis and see you soon for many more adventures!

Creating a Low Key Portrait Using Rembrandt Lighting - Duration: 5:29.

What happens when you cross a chicken and a dog and a light outfit andd a dark outfit

in a low-key portrait? Check it out.

[00:00:05] [music]

[00:00:28]

J.P: Hi, this is J.P. Morgan. Today on The Slanted Lens, we're going to do a baroque-type

portrait, dark and moody, kind of low-key. But we've got a light outfit and a dark outfit.

These two are from New York City, they work for an ad agency there, and they're doing

a shot of themselves as a creative team. And we're gonna use this to kinda advertise who

they are. So we have very different personalities here, obviously.

Jamie: Yeah.

Marisa: Yes. I'm a princess, I have a Pomeranian.

Jamie: And I have a chicken.

J.P: Jamie is my daughter, actually.

Jamie: Yeah, we just wanted to do something that was a little different. So we had the

thrones in it to make it a little more fun.

Marisa: We're like, "Let's make it more difficult, and add animals."

Jamie: Yeah, chicken.

J.P: Gotta add animals, a chicken, and a dog. So let's break down doing a low-key portrait.

To begin with, you've gotta have kind of a low-key setting. Our background is a wall

that we built. We painted on a blue on the walls first, and then we can put a gray, a

dark gray, and painted that with a broom. And that broom just gives you a great texture.

Kind of an up-and-down texture, and it also lets some of the paint below it kind of shine

through, which gives you a great look. There's a lot of depth in it. It's just a beautiful

way to do walls. Because if you just paint a wall a solid color, it's just flat and it's

just so uninteresting. This gives the walls some depth and makes it have a little bit

of interest.

When you have this kind of dark setting or going for that dark, moody shot, we really

want, though, to have some rim light here. So I have a rim light on both sides of the

camera, right and left. It's gonna rim each of them from the background, and I'm gonna

keep that pretty subtle. But at least enough so that it will outline them, and bring them

out away from the background.

We then put a octadome in the middle, with a grid on it, and I just pan that up just

enough to be able to get it on their faces, and to start to give a little bit of glow

in the middle, in the background. Now, Marisa on the left side here, with a softbox was

just favoring Jamie on the right side just a little bit, so I added a grid on Marisa's

face, so it would just open her face up just a little bit. And that angle was nicer, coming

across hitting her, because we're really going for that strong Rembrandt or that profile

where you get the great butterfly light in a profile, and which falls into the shadows

on the camera side, which is a beautiful light.

So two rim lights, octadome upfront for a key light, and then I had some lights on the

background, and we ended up not using those. We had them in there to just kind of turn

on the light on the background. It's like, you know, we don't need to see all that detail

in the background. Just let it go a little darker, so we turned those off.

So there's kinda our lighting setup. This is the kind of stuff I love to do. The lighting

on this is just fabulous, it's beautiful. The challenge here was putting dark and light,

and we really met that challenge by keeping the light pooled on the people's faces, and

let it fall off, and then rimming them from behind so that they'll stand out. And then

we can live with that dark and light because we've handled it from behind, not lighting

them so much from the front, which makes that light shirt and dark shirt hard to deal with.

We just rim them from behind, put a little light on their faces. And then just let their

clothing colors fall where they want to.

So their clothing is more of a modern clothing, with just kind of a nod to that renaissance

kind of time period, which just looks really cool.

Okay, so we've done the group shot now, two of them together. Now we're gonna do them

individually and going to really change this light up and make it very, very Rembrandt.

Kind of low-key so it looks very high-contrast on their face, but falls off quickly. So I've

got a grid on the face of our softbox or octadome, and we're gonna just turn this in.

When you set up key light straight in on someone's face, it gives you a great profile, and as

you move around, it gives you a great butterfly straight. Those are two beautiful lights,

and you see examples of each of those. So let's ask Marisa and Jamie what they think

of the images that we got.

Jamie: We loved it.

Marisa: Loved it.

Jamie: Awesome.

Marisa: Super pumped.

Jamie: Chicken, Pomeranian, we got it all.

Marisa: It's perfect.

Jamie: We don't need anything else.

Marisa: It's all we need. Thanks, J.P.

J.P: Thank you, ladies. It was fun. It really was fun. It was a lot of fun, so keep those

cameras rolling. Keep on clicking.

How to play "Don`t wait" by Mapei | (Synthesia) [Piano Tutorial] [HD] - Duration: 12:31.

hi there my name is igor from smartclassicalpiano.com okay don't wait

by my pay I think it's my pay right maybe my pay I don't know so it was

requested by one of our members Julia thank you for this this was a fun

but to do under the song and I have two versions up this is the simplified

version and the other one on her channel that's the full transcription this one

I've done basically so you can sing along while you play no the only thing

I've left totally intact with the introduction you don't have to sing

during to introduction so I didn't change it at all but all the melodic

parts I've deconstructed the piano part and made it just more or less chordal so

it's a lot easier to sing along too and if you want to have a look at the

original the full piano transcription it's on our channel so go look and there

I just listened to the guy play it I wrote down as much as I could as

accurately as I could and yeah it's quite a bit more intricate really nice I

see just learning that one too anyway we've got the verse and the hook here

which is basically the whole song verses and hooks I repeated ad nauseam so you

learned this you learned the whole song all right after chat let's do it

you

you

there you have it don't wait all right I'll do basically

the intro maybe a little bit more than that in this tutorial and the rest of it

you're gonna have to find on our website smartclassicalpiano.com as always you

can do it for free so go and do that and I'll put the music up there too so the

simplified and the full version will be on our website too

all right let's do it learn this so what do we got we have this that's right now

let's do it both hands right away we have octaves right a in both hands

skip C D E and fall down to D major we have five and three and the left one and

two and the right cool that's the Frizzle unit moving on what we got

if this

all right so a couple things I got to say about this if you download the sheet

music you're gonna see you're gonna see this alright I'll play it slowly so you

see exactly I'm talking about we have these little grace notes right now on

paper what it looks like is this it looks like the a comes first and then

these two guys come in and it's fast right so what it looks like on paper but

that's not what actually happens this these grace notes are actually on the

beat which means that they coincide with the outside the top note of the of these

two guys so if the a is the grace note and we're going towards these two right

on paper that's what it looks like when you actually play it it should be like

this I'll play with one and I guess all right see that so the grace note a

aligns with the D of these two notes and it's and then the move from A to B

happens after the D is already played so grace notes are on the beat always this

is not really in the classical tradition although in the broke like Bach's

Goldberg Variations have this all the time all over the place

alright so we have this right so five one two three that's the grace note move

and then or two lift so that's five one race now move to

F sharp or two and then being one I would suggest

staying a little bit further up to key so you can hit the C sharp with some

amount of comfort left hand is just a bee

and three A's now I should say we're not covering the rhythm here at all so just

leave the rhythm aside and do that in a bit

so with both hands it's going to be

like that alright next section

so right hand we have three five one two five left hand is five and one F sharp E

and then a couple more thumbs

all right next

so that's three one and then again the Gracenote move aligns

with the top note for one moving to two

the left hand just has two and five

all right next unit moving on

so that's two quick DS DMB

then

and you can actually change the pedal on each of these think that's not good then

you have to basically left hand is octave G's octave F sharps notice I'm

using a four on black note octaves

octave II

sweet alright there it is so now let's do the rhythm right I'll count it mad

slow and you can follow along so at this point I'm just assuming that you have

learned the right hand and the left hand and you put them together with no

counting that's fine but just that you have all the the technical moves down so

we have a bar that starts empty one and two and three and

to

the reason I didn't count that was because this is a quarter note triplet

so when you're learning this and it really didn't make doesn't make any

sense to do this in such a slow tempo and counted out loud as a triplet you're

pets are super weird anyway so just learn it the way that I just showed you

don't count that triplet at all and then we have everything in place we can play

this at a faster clip it'll make a little bit more sense how to

contextualize it rhythmically you'll get something like was it

okay alright I think that's it that's it for

that now let's have a couple say a couple words about the next couple of

phrase is not that's too many let's do the yeah let's do the pedal so this is

dry or honestly you can do whatever you want with the pedal but this is what I

did so dry no pedal here and put the pedal down for this

and then we got change

change change freeze oh sorry all of those are changes

that change change change change and then she starts singing for these chords

but I'll finish that up on the website so Oh have a look on the website it's

free finish this thing off printed the sheet music and learned this music sing

it play it have fun thanks for watching and let's see in the next one

Meet a GOES-R Series Weather Satellite - Duration: 1:54.

Hello! I'm a GOES-R series weather satellite orbiting 22,000

miles above Earth.

I can see a lot of cool stuff from up here, and I take pictures of it with my

spiffy camera that has 16 different settings.

I have such good eyesight I can see clouds, snow, smoke, smog and ash,

so I can warn you about dangerous conditions and help you avoid them.

When storms are brewing

I watch them closely and help with hurricane, tornado and flood warnings to

help keep you safe. And, my new lightning mapper will track lightning strikes way

up in the sky,

even through dark dense clouds. I also help with search and rescue missions.

I listen for distress signals from emergency beacons and tell search and

rescue teams just where to find people who need help.

But even when I'm keeping a close eye on earth, I'm monitoring weather out here in

space too!

I watch the Sun for big bursts of energy which send waves of radiation toward

Earth that can affect power grids, block communication with planes, cause

errors in GPS and damage satellites.

Space weather is also very dangerous for astronauts working outside the

International Space Station

I warn them so they can get inside where they'll be safe.

So the next time you watch a weather report or check your phone for the

forecast,

remember that's me, so look to the sky and wave.

I'll be here!

therefore I feel like having a hangover

although I don't drink alcohol at all but it's the way it is

the others drink and I have a hangover

we will drive back to the ring now

where we are invited by Phoenix racing

we will have breakfast in their lounge and I will take you with me

I will show you a little bit around

I will also show you something from the TT Cup and the paddock area

this could also be exciting

before we go downstairs, let me show you the delux suite of Apex

this is the living room

it was cleaner before we got here

here is the bedroom

this could be a highlight for many people

you have a great view on the Nürburg

Okay, let's go! I will get in the GTI and drive the 100m to the ring that I could actually go by foot

see you there!

okay I will have a seat here for the next season so that they can make a seat for me ;)

first I need to get in here

that was actually easy, I think getting out will be more difficult

that seat was built in for tests and you can easily remove it

we have here, just as in other racing series, such a steering wheel

where all necessary buttons are attached on

you can communicate with your team

you can enable the flash light

shift up and shit down on the paddels

just as in any other car too

you can also enable the water for drinking, I have showed this to you in the GT3 cup already in a different video

there we had a hose built into the helmet

I'm happy to be here and I think I will practice a little if that is possible

Now try to get out of the car!

I think...

... I have to practise this more often

but besides that i feel very comfortable in there

okay the next one who is here for an interview with me

this time it is Markus Winkelhock

I think many of you know him

he is the winner of the 24h of Nürburging 2017

He was in the R8 GT3

yes!

Now I will ask you something that I always ask every racecar driver:

when did you start racing, how old have you been at that point?

I started real late

the very first time I was racing was at the age of 18

a late starter?

yes you can say late starter

I think Vettel was about 20 years during his first grand-prix

and therefore I was a late starter with 18 years

but you probably drove go-karts before right?

no, not at all. Just as a hobby for a bit

like I was 16-17 years old

then I got the opportunity to be a hobby racecar driver

where I finished 2nd of the whole season and this is how it all begun

Okay, but today you are here to coach the drivers right?

I work for Audi. For Audi customer racing

mostly with the Audi R8 GT3

and besides that, I also work as a coach for the TT Cup

I'm a coach and instructor together with Marco Werner

I support the TT Cup drivers with my knowledge and experiences

I'm doing this for 17 years now and there is a lot that I've learned so far

so I provide all the tipps to the drivers here

Which tips can you tell all the people who want to start racing?

That is a question that I get asked frequently especially in the paddock

Unfortunately it depends on money quite often

Motorsport costs money and in certain race series there is a lot of money involved

Let's take the Formula 3 as an example

if you drive there one season you pay about 700.000 - 800.000€

800.000€ for one season?

and most of the time that money is not hidden somewhere in your house

How many races are one season in Formula 3?

Formula 3 contain 10 race weekends

2 races each weekend

it is a lot of money and when you just start driving

you have to look out for a sponsor

and this is kinda difficult

there are many good drivers, but they often don't have the possibilty to finance their career

this is a very big problem for most of the drivers

what can you recommend to find a start in racing?

if there was no money involved

where do you start from?

I didn't do it but usually it is the go-kart sport

it is kinda cheap in comparison to other race series

you can gain a lot of experience and prepare yourself for bigger a series

then you can enter the Formula 4 or the TT Cup where you find cars with a roof

and then you have some drivers who can make it to the DTM

and the DTM is the race series where you are on top of your career?

then you have been very successfully?

yes you can say that!

or is there more?

of course the most famous one is Formula 1

which is the most famous series in Formula racing

But I can say that the DTM is the Formula 1 of touring

there are only professional racecar drivers

and this is the most professional touring racecar championship in the world

Have you been in a Formula car already?

Yes, I was driving in Formula sports a lot

Formula 3 and I was a Formula 1 test driver for 2 years

where I was driving some races here on the Nürburgring in the Formula 1

that was 10 years ago

and at some point I was driving for the touring racecar series

mostly for Audi

so I gained a lot of experience!

is there actually a big difference?

would you stay with the DTM?

Or are you interested in the Formula cars again?

it is absolutely different!

both have their advantages

In a formula car you sit very low without a roof and you see your wheels

But for me it is cooler to be in the DTM

you have contact to the other drivers

you always say rubbing is racing

you have a real fight out there

so this is more fun to me. Same with the GT3s

it is similar to the DTM

it is very tough

but mostly the fights are fair

Probably you don't do anything else than racing right?

or do you have a regular job or something like that?

no, my job is racing

I did an eduacation as a photographer in Stuttgart at Auto-Motor-Sport

my uncle is a photographer there and I made an apprenticeship there

and as I said, I started racing as a hobby

and at some point it became my job and since then it is my job!

What is your most favorite event or memory during your racecar driver career?

that comes up to your mind now?

well, I won the 24h of Nürburgring 3 times

that have been my highlights

I won the 24h of Spa together with Audi

and one experience that I will never forget is

when I drove in the Formula 1 here at the Nürburgring

I had taken the lead on front of Lewis Hamilton and Alonso

that was a great experience

very cool!

okay, thank you very much that you had time for the interview

I will definately follow your races and what you do here

and I hope we'll see you first again during the next 24h of Nürburgring

I hope so too!

Thank you very much!

Hours later and I'm back on my way home

that have been two very exciting days

honestly, I experienced so much in these two days

I have to process all the memories and impressions that I got

It was a lot of fun!

Thank you very much Phoenix racing for having me in your lounge

that you treated me with all the delicious food and drinks for the 2 days

As I said, it was a lot of fun for me!

And I will be back for VLN at the Nürburgring in October

where I will be back again at Phoenix racing. I can't wait!

Some time ago I have already

put my focus on becoming a racecar driver

and hereby I want to apply for several racing series

as a guest driver

and drive a racecar in a real race

if somebody is interested in hiring me to participate in a race

then hit me up on my email address

I definately want to do that and I hope that it will work next year

to be a racecar driver as a guest

on the Nürburgring or any other racetrack

and who knows, maybe I'll become a professional racecar driver some day

who knows?

okay so, if you like this video please leave a thumb up

and you can subscribe to my channel if you want

and I hope I'll see you in my next video!

Bye bye!
