There's this place in the arts district called blue bottle coffee.

A lot of people don't know about it but also a lot of people know about it so now I have

to find a new spot.

Alright so if you think of coffee aficionados what picture comes to mind?

knows every single coffee joint in LA and yeah of course millennials love their coffee,

but what if I told you that your grandpa probably drinks more coffee than you.

The national coffee association has been asking about Americans coffee habits since 1950.

When asked.

when they had drank coffee the last day.

70% 65 and older said yes.

That number fell to 63% for the next few generations and then teens had the lowest response.

wait wait wait shouldn't this age range have the highest consumption rate.

I mean these people are likely in college, have jobs, and they need that caffeine to

stay awake or is what our grandparents say right and every generation just keeps getting

lazier and lazier.

Before companies like starbucks flooded the country with all sorts of espresso drinks

and single origin coffee varieties, there was only one type of coffee.

thats it and these coffee companies weren't competing with smoothies, sodas, and green

juices either.

So a 21 year old choice of energy may be an energy drink while a 65 year old is likely

to stick to good old fashioned coffee.

So, before you judge me for going to coffee bean, remember your grandparents probably

love coffee more than you.

Importance of the First Strike - Duration: 3:05.

Hey guys, Nick Drossos and welcome to Code Red Defense.

Today, we're going to talk about the importance of the first strike. And the

difference between fighting in the ring or sparring where two people are starting,

you know, from each of their positions and their hands are up is a completely

different animal than being in the street. Chances are, if you're fighting in the

ring, you're fighting a guy more or less your size, your height, your weight. Maybe a

little bit of a longer range of shorter range. But in the street, you're faced

with a guy like like "Moose" who's 6'6'', three hundred fifty pounds,

big Nick 6'7'', Gio. The reality is you've got to go pre-emptive. I have to hit

first. And there's no black or white answer, it's all about what are my highest

chances of survival? Do I have a better chance of squaring off and knocking him out?

Or do I have a better chance of talking to the guy and hammer striking, or going up

with an elbow or striking the throat or a head butting in close-quarter?

That would make all the freaking difference. That is the most important

thing. It's difference between self-defense and you having to train years to

defend yourself. Sometimes when new clients are going to

learn like self-defense, I'm going to start with just teaching them how to bring

their hands up and how to set up the first strike. How to be aware and where

do I hit? Because you don't want to turn this into a sparring match or fighting

match. No bullshit, the bigger and taller and stronger guy will have the advantage.

It's not for nothing they have weight divisions in fighting and even in

sports. So going pre-emptive is the key. Now, you're

probably going to tell me. Well, then you're the bully, you're the attacker. No, I'm

aware, I'm reading, I'm studding his body language, where is he moving? If I see

anything threatening and I know the cues of him about to throw a strike,

I'm going to go pre-emptive.

Yeah, at the end like I tell people, it's your life. Let me know how it works

out for you. Do you want to wait for Rock or Gio or "Moose" to attack you at

6'6'' 350lbs, because you don't want to first. When he starts picking up momentum

it's like a truck coming to you. So going pre-emptive is the key and we have so many
