Waching daily Dec 18 2017

I just found out how the local names works

The local Twi/Akan names

Correspond to the day of the week they were born

Those are the names for boys or girls

Based on the day of the week that they were born

And also they have a western name

Edward, Joseph, etc.

Usually they have British names

And both of them make their name

This is update on our project

We are between the first and the second layer of blocks

We finished this first layer

and now we will begin with the second one

We began by doing these two

but we can fill the gap cause these two blocks are still soft

If we fill the gap, compact the rammed earth

We will break the blocks next to them

and we will see cracks

we were thinking on moving the formworks

compact and level with the block next to it

We have the concrete foundation

and it´s making steps

We had to fill that gap there

with a little formwork

And then we did this block of rammed earth

After this block we prepared the formwork for the next one

There is a cover at the end

And we will fill the formwork up to this level

We will continue with the block at this level

until we reach the next step

What we will do is fill, open the formwork and move it to the next concrete step

Fill and compact this new block

We will have a new level

From here

Up to there

The same at the other side

We can move this form work

And put it on top

and make another layer

and reach up to there

so then we will take us a few days

so then those two

they will be cured/hard enough

so we can fill with blocks the space in between

on the long sides we have to

Another layer

Because the level of the classroom is down falling

But when we level the classroom with earth

It will reach to where my hand is

to the middle of this first block layer

on the sides we want to have 1,2m(4ft)

That correspond with the eye level of the students

when theyare sitting down

And on top of that we will have the wood structure

that it will be open and will have a screen

and this short wall

We will have to do 6 more layers/levels like this one

It will reach this point more and less

Yesterday we finished

that we just finish opening

the formwork for this concrete foundation

The reason why this foundation is lower

On this side and that side

Is the level of the ground floor

This foundation is lower

That level over there

The top surface of that concrete foundation

Are the door openings

On that grade is where the floor classroom

it will begin and continue flat that way

until it reaches that point

we fill all these area with earth

So this foundation will be lower so it matches the classroom floor level

and then it is flashed with the floor

and here will have the wall where we have the chalkboard

Here we have Joseph

He is finishing the rammed earth block

So It will be flashed with the previous one

And the guys over there

while this is ready

and this one is almost done

they are making more mix

when we go eat, they can continue there

we wlll come back and we will move this one

and that´s where we are

The biggest problem we ever have until now

was how to access our money

We had a couple of sponsors for this project

as well as crowdfunding

BUT

the difficult part was

how to bring the money from Spain to Ghana

The foundation NKA

which is the one that organized the competition

Proposed me a few options

The sponsors will write a check

addressed to the Foundation

the foundation will provide me a letter

like a recommendation letter

so I can go to the black market

and cash the check

OBVIOUSLY, that wasn´t an option for me

that I wasn´t going to do

another option was bringing the money as cash

I withdraw the Euros

bring it as euros and exchange it here to Cedis

at the airport or a currency exchange office

but it was risky

Since I was coming alone to the country

If I got robbed

I would lose all the money for the project

and the 3rd option

which is the one I chose

the sponsors would donate to NKA foundation

to their account

The sponsors will donate to the USA account

The foundation, with the director Barthosa

Transfered the money from NKA USA account to NKA Ghana account

The problem is

This is not a serious/professional foundation/ngo

The problem was

The only person authorized to withdraw the money

from the NKA account in GHana

he doesn´t work for NKA anymore

and he doesn´t live in Ghana anymore

so we tried to contact that person

and he said that until October can´t come to Ghana

to withdraw the money from the account

it could be true or a lie

the thing is the following

We tried to contact with the director, Barthosa

So he can wire/transfer money from another account

to Frank

who is the person in charge of coordinating the project here in Abetenim/Ghana

Bathosa only sent/wired us 500 US dollars

500$ will last only 4 days

The first 4 days we spent 500$ already

We ordered sand, cement, steel rebar,..

We had to pay the local workers

So that was doesn´t work

So until now, Frank was using the money that we are giving him for meal and accomodation expenses

to pay for materials and worker´s salaries

until we can access our own funds

This is not a serious foundation

if you reach the point

a foundation/NGO

has only one person in charge to withdraw money from that account

if that person doesn´t work anymore

you switch/assign to another person

instead of giving the bank account details

to sponsor so they will donate

and then you can´t withdraw from that account

it doesn´t make any sense

HOUSE TOUR OF LILETTA ELY + INDY by Sebastiano Serafini with Lilletta Ely in Japan - Duration: 5:21.

- Sailor is falling!

I'm also a big fan of xMen!

-see? it's a cuddly cat! -yes, I need to say that it's the only cat that didn't assault me!

I'm always talking about Sebas home invasions

now I suffered one too...it was only a matter of time

so now it's the turn too see how he invades also my house!

Seba will get friends with Indy

and he will discover that not all cats hate him

he will bring to the landlady some really uncommon gadgets

he will show to us that with the jetlag you can't blow up baloons

and he will try with Lilletta a medieval torture...how to remove the hair from the nose

We arrived in Milan!

Good now the adventure begins! let's see the room

we put the card here

not bad, the breakfast and dinner is included

it's not bad here!

I like the fact that you are in front of the train station of Milan

and above that you can do the check-in at 12 o'clock

and also the check-out,

so it's a good thing... so I came at 12 and I already did the check-in

fantastic!!

I can say that I'm going to prepare a good coffee!

However! Hi guys! I returned to Italy - today I'm in Milano!

I can't wait to meet Lilletta Ely today!

and yes I will do a small tour of her house

-it's a bit hard...ok

look!!! let's see if you recognize some characters

the one in the background is me

so, here we have Sailor Pluto - see? I have her.

yes...put her away! - no no

but why are there some Sailors missing? - I have them...

Oh God! Sailor Moon has fallen - Sailor rain^^

I liked her a lot,

but the thing is that I'm sorry

that Sailor Saturn remained a little girl

so, I was really sorry for her. - yes, the thing is that she had a really strong power, but they never let her fight

I think it would have been better if she had grown older..

so that's really disappointing

-would I be able to put them on?

who is he? ah it's Milord without mask

they all fell down! -they all had a chain reaction! it's worse than bowling!

nice you also have Georgia (italian singer) Cosplay!

- no that's Electra

I must say that they're falling... - yes, they have too big heads

- they're not done so well

I also have these from Ikea!

-Sebastiano Serafini is breaking my house -part 1!

- you have something at home, incredible?

yes, but I hid them somewhere, it was a present...

but, you're a big fan of Totoro! -a lot!

well, come on tell me something indiscreet!

that nobody knows about Lilletta!

we have a collection of - DVD

-yes, I have the whole collection of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

and did you also bought all the mangas? I suppose.

- sure, why not!!?

xMen, I'm also a big fan

what is this? Final Fantasy X2

- I bought it in Japan, when I didn't had internet to see them, there are all the cut scenes of Final Fantasy 2

I was really fixed!

but I suppose this isn't original,

- I bought it in Japan, so...

original, really? - I ordered it from the japanese Amazon

then it will be original...

- the triology of Ring are the best books that I ever read!

really? I didn't knew they were called Ring-Spiral-Loop.

- this one when you arrive at the end is ---

what it's the third book about? and where does the movie arrive?

- the first movie is really like in the book, the second not so...

so there isn't a third one? - no, it's too difficult to do a movie about the third book!

- well, it's really hard to explain, you need to read the book

can't you do a brief summary?

you're soo good in that!

-it's a virtual reality programm, and you say what does that have to do? - it has!

really? so in reality then you discover...

- that's a soft bread!

whatever, we had really a lot of fun in Lilletta's house!

You need to know that I have jetlag, that's why I'm so sleepy-.-

otherwise I would have more enegy

but let's frame the cat, so that we will have more viewers

-see? it's a cuddly cat! -yes, I need to say that it's the only cat that didn't assault me!

I'm allergic to cats

- if you stay with them for a short time you would sneeze?

yes, but in the end it doesn't matter!

you live only once, right?

good, this cat is only showing me the butt

- he wants that you scratch his butt/back!

. you see he's white under

-it's called pigmentary incontinence

really? - it's genetic, like the ones that have the Heterochromia

- one eye green and the other blue

ah like Yuna from Final Fantasy X? - yes exactly

-he's an xMen, because he has a genetic mutation!

I say that you can skip this part, Lilletta do you want to say something?

One Graph Shows Why Half of Americans Hate the Mainstream Media - Duration: 3:21.

One Graph Shows Why Half of Americans Hate the Mainstream Media

Americans trust the mainstream media less and less, and a new study shows that its

due to the overwhelmingly negative media coverage of President Donald Trump.

Newsbusters, which is a part of the Media Research Center, has been following this story

all year and found that from September through November 2017, the mainstream medias coverage

of the president was 90 percent negative.

Again thats 90 percent negative. The American people are getting tired of it. The

study includes ABC, CBS and NBC News.

In November, for example, there were only 33 positive comments about Trump made by reporters

and anchors, as opposed to 320 negative comments.

Take a look at the astonishing numbers:

NBC News even reported on a Pew Research Center study that found a whopping 62 percent of

the mainstream media coverage of President Trump has been negative since his inauguration.

That study also found that only 5 percent of that coverage is positive.

On the other hand, the mainstream media was obsessed with praising former President Barack

Obama.

The study showed that in early 2009, coverage of the former president was 42 percent positive

and only 20 percent negative.

The bias is so clear that its sickening.

Likewise, an American Press Institute study found that the majority of Americans are becoming

more and more distrustul of the big name news media.

Only 24 percent of Americans say they believe the news media in general are moral,'

the study showed. According to the study, that number goes up when Americans are asked

about the media they habitually rely on to 53 percent. But thats not exactly an outstanding

endorsement.

So what is happening to the American news media?

Simply speaking, its a matter of cause and effect. Donald Trump refuses to follow

the medias liberal agenda, and so they get angry and lash out with negative news

coverage.

However, the American people arent easily fooled. We know when we are being told lies.

Unless they apologize and start telling the truth, we will not believe the mainstream

media.

Share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know why you dont trust the media.

What does this tell you about the future of the mainstream media? Scroll down to comment

Famous Phrases You're Constantly Misquoting - Duration: 5:06.

Most of us don't have to worry about being incorrectly quoted because no one really cares

what we say, no matter how many followers we have on Twitter.

But when you're famous, fake quotes become a defining part of your image — true or

not.

So let's figure out who actually said what, once and for all.

"We are not amused."

Even though we think of Queen Victoria as a scowling, old lady dressed in black, she

probably never actually said "we are not amused."

While the rumor has been going around forever — even while she was alive — no one seems

to know exactly when she said it.

According to the Radio Times, she said it when a servant told a saucy story.

Another tale says it was uttered after a performance of HMS Pinafore.

Yet another says she voiced her opinion when a whole table was laughing at something she

didn't find funny.

But, Queen V was happier than she looked.

The Christian Science Monitor reported that Lady Salisbury claimed Queen Victoria laughed

too much.

Apparently, she was amused.

"England and America are two countries divided by a common language."

Famous for his witty repartee, there's a possibility author George Bernard Shaw said something

similar to this.

In the notes of his 1906 play Caesar and Cleopatra, he wrote,

"We have men of exactly the same stock, and speaking the same language, growing in Great

Britain, in Ireland, and in America.

The result is three of the most distinctly marked nationalities under the sun."

It's close, but there's still no evidence Shaw ever said the exact phrase.

It's actually possible Oscar Wilde is the true originator of this phrase, since in one

of his short stories the narrator describes a character like this:

"She was quite English, and was an excellent example of the fact that we have really everything

in common with America nowadays, except, of course, language."

"The ends justify the means."

You could read the whole of Niccolo Machiavelli's most famous work The Prince, and never find

this line.

And it's not in any of his other works, either.

In Chapter 18 of The Prince, he sort of alludes to this theory, with,

"Let a prince have the credit of conquering and holding his state, the means will always

be considered honest."

But even if Machiavelli had written this exact quote, he probably wouldn't have meant it.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, there's a good chance the whole book was satire.

"Well-behaved women rarely make history."

There's a good chance you already saw this quote today, possibly even on a wall sticker.

But Marilyn Monroe never said it.

Neither did Eleanor Roosevelt, or Anne Boleyn, or anyone you've ever heard of.

According to the New York Times, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich wrote a version of this in an article

in 1976, though the phrasing was slightly different: "Well-behaved women seldom make

history."

There's no telling who this quote might be attributed to next.

"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

According to The Phrase Finder, this statement was originally attributed to US Air Force

aerospace engineer Captain Edward A. Murphy, who hated the people he was working with,

noting that if they could possibly do something wrong, they would.

The quote first showed up in print in 1952, when the book, The Making of a Scientist,

quoted a physicist as stating Murphy's Law as,

"If anything can go wrong it will."

But astronaut John Glenn wrote in his 1962 memoir that "Murphy" was actually a fictitious

character made up by the U.S. Navy for educational cartoons.

Whoever came up with it, it totally nails the essence of life.

"I invented the internet."

During the runup to the 2000 Presidential election, Vice President Al Gore sat down

with Wolf Blitzer in 1999 and talked about important things he'd done.

Snopes reports that he said:

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

What he meant was that he played an important role in furthering the development of the

internet, which is absolutely true.

In fact, he's even in the Internet Hall of Fame, which is a thing that actually exists.

But his critics thought "I invented the internet" sounded a whole lot funnier, and the myth

was born.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Legendary Indian political activist Gandhi said a lot of really deep stuff, but if you've

been saying this quote, you've just been repeating some rando bumper sticker maker.

But wait.

According to the New York Times, Gandhi did say,

"If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.

As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him."

Not quite as catchy.

"Elementary, my dear Watson."

Even if you've never read any of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, you're

probably familiar with the detective's iconic saying, "elementary, my dear Watson!"

The only problem is, he never said it.

Snopes says that the closest Holmes comes to saying this phrase is in the short story

The Crooked Man.

He's just done an impressive deduction of how busy Dr. Watson is with his patients,

and this exchange takes place:

"'Excellent!'

I cried.

'Elementary,' he said."

Close enough?

"I cannot tell a lie.

I did cut it with my hatchet."

The first thing you probably learned about Washington was that he was our first president.

The second thing?

He was really bad at lying.

The story goes that little Georgie was playing around with a hatchet, and chopped down his

father's prized cherry tree.

When he was confronted, he said,

"I cannot tell a lie.

I did cut it with my hatchet."

But the Mount Vernon official website says this story was invented after Washington died,

by an author who wanted to cash in on his passing by writing a popular history book.

The book was a bestseller and even though he included loads of other fake stories too,

the cherry tree was the one everyone remembered.

An Early Look at Video Calling - with Geoffrey Gouriet - Duration: 3:30.

I'm now going to telephone a colleague of mine

and he happens to be the director of research

of the Post Office.

And with a bit of luck I'll be able to telephone him here.

I'll have a go anyway.

I'll switch it on and you can hear the noise.

And I'm now going to dial,

[MECHANICAL CLICKING NOISE]

you can hear it.

[RINGING NOISE]

[STATIC NOISE]

He's answered, hello Professor Bray?

[SLIGHTLY DISTORTED AUDIO] – Hello Geoffrey, how good to see you as well as hear you.

– Well isn't it remarkable, now this is a surprise

you see, I pick up a telephone and now I see you sitting there.

Professor Bray look, we're going to want to talk to you a little more

about this remarkable thing the videophone.

But I've just been talking about fibre optics and I think

that you at [INAUDIBLE] are rather interested in fibre optics too,

am I right?

– We are indeed Geoffrey,

and I shouldn't be surprised one day you know,

to see these viewphone pictures coming into people's homes

through a glass fibre.

But not only that of course, providing them with telephone communication

and vision communication as well.

– How very interesting.

Well now look there's somebody here I think

would like to ask you a question.

Yes here we are. Now if I press this button

'self-view' I believe, I can see myself

and with a bit of luck I'm going to see you too.

so I'm going to try it .

And you come down, oh there we can see each other.

And you can still see us?

– Yes I can see you fine.

Well isn't that remarkable.

Now you ask a question we'll go back to Professor Bray.

You ask, what was your question?

Oh yes you want the phone don't you, of course.

[LAUGHTER]

– Hello sir

– Hello Matthew

– Can you tell me when video phones will be in our homes?

Well the one we're using now Matthew is quite an experimental one,

and it'll take a few years to turn this into a device

which is low enough in cost for people to use on a large scale

but it will not be many years I think before a view phone

will come into service.

– How much will it cost?

– Well that's rather a difficult question at this stage,

clearly it's got be a cost that people can afford

in terms of the service the view phone will provide.

– Thank you very much.

– Thank you Matthew.

Well thank you very much John, a couple of very awkward questions

when are thing's right in the research phase.

[LAUGHS]

– It is in the research phase as you say Geoffrey, but

there are many developments of viewphone that I think

would interest people, I expect it to be able to provide

in clear, high definition, copies of documents for example.

And by pressing a button to get a printed copy when you want it.

– How very useful.

– For business people you see, as well as people in the home,

I think this is going to be a very important communication tool

of the future.

– Well I'm gonna say thank you very much John

for talking to us and hang up, good bye.

–Thank you Geoffrey, good bye.

– Switch it off.

[APPLAUSE]

Speaking Tip - How trimming your content will make an impact - Duration: 5:02.

- What can you do to have a greater impact

on your next speech or presentation?

Hi, I'm Tim Barnaby.

I'm a certified, world-class speaking coach.

I help business professionals speak, lead, and succeed

in their careers, their communities, and their life.

Today I want to share with you a tip

around trimming your stories,

and how that will have a greater impact

on your next speech or presentation.

People who are out there

delivering speeches and presentations

have a lot of detail,

and that can be very tiresome on your audience.

Depending on who they are and what they're expecting,

there may be a little bit too much being added,

that it's taking away from their experience.

I have been taught about how to deliver great stories,

and part of it is setting up an image

in the audience's mind.

There's a level of detail

that needs to be communicated to them

so that they have a picture

of what it is that you are telling them about,

and then, of course, the real impact

is making them feel like they are a part of that story,

but the level of detail that you need to get into

may or may not need as much detail as you think it needs.

One of the people that I learned from is Michael Port,

and he has a great TED Talk with his wife, Amy,

where he, in the middle of it, he shares the story

about the old man, the boy, and the donkey.

That is literally the setup of his story:

there's an old man, a boy, and a donkey,

and they're going to town.

Now he doesn't talk about their ages.

He doesn't talk about their relationship.

He doesn't even state specifically where they're going,

other than a town,

and you can imagine that what kind of time they may be in,

if there is two people and a donkey going to a town.

You might think back to biblical times.

You might be thinking about just a part of the world

where they still use donkeys to get around in,

but he never really needed to give that level of detail,

because at the end of his story, which I won't give away,

but there is not going to be anything more

that that story needs,

other than who the characters are,

and what they are doing

in the moment of that part of the story.

So here's your action step for this week:

take a look at that next feature presentation,

and go out and test with your audience,

or a sample audience,

and ask them that question.

Ask them to listen

to the specific story or stories that you tell,

and ask them if they feel there's information in it

that they don't believe helped advance the story,

or made an impact on the message at the end,

and then retell the same speech to a different audience

without that key piece of information,

and ask them if they still have the same impact,

if they still understood

what the message or key takeaway point was,

and then, of course, it's an evolution.

Some people might need it in,

other people might need it out,

so maybe it's a combination of both,

trimming, cutting it back,

or not necessarily cutting it out,

and just revising the wording,

or just taking a little bit off

to make it work within the confines

of what it is that you're trying to communicate.

So let me know, in the comments below,

about your experiences with the trimming of your speeches.

Did it help your audience?

Did it help your speech become more effective?

I'd love to hear from you directly, so put a comment below,

and if you haven't done so already,

go ahead and check out my social media profiles

on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

I'm also available at my website timbarnaby.com

for more information about the services in which I offer.

Well that's all for this week.

I hope you're able to use this speaking tip

to make your next speech or presentation a success,

and I wish you all the luck in the world,

and until we meet again, here's to your speaking success.

We're tired out Tryna find a place

Tryna find my place out there Were beaten down

Trying to work it out No we're not out yea

It doesn't have to be this way I put my heart up on display

It doesn't have to be today Oh woah oh

Cause tonight We're more than this

We're more than this tonight Find all we've missed today

So forget the past Let's make this last

Close your eyes and we'll fly away So forget the past

Let's make this last Just raise your glass, and dance the night

away

We're driving out Under city lights

Never looked so bright I swear We're looking out

Over lives so lost, why are we so lost?

It doesn't have to be this way I put my heart up on display

It doesn't have to be today Oh woah oh

Cause tonight We're more than this

We're more than this tonight Find all we've missed today

So forget the past Let's make this last

Close your eyes and we'll fly away So forget the past

Let's make this last Just raise your glass, and dance the night

away

Jim Rohn - What Makes a Good Opportunity (Jim Rohn Motivation) - Duration: 5:39.

Jim Rohn: opportunity shiz away from need

opportunity shiz away from need that opportunity is attracted by talent and

ability

see what you want to do with opportunity is not turn it off you don't want to

offend opportunity you don't want opportunity to turn cool on you so the

only thing you present to opportunity is talent and ability and performance and

skill you don't present need to opportunity it's like asking the soil

for in advance what would happen if you'd ask the soil for an advance on

next next fall's crop the soil says look you know you've got to go somewhere else

don't bring me your need bring me your seed so you've got to go

do your borrowing somewhere else and bring the seed to the soil you don't

borrow from the soil you borrow somewhere else get the seed bring the

seed to the soil because the soil does not want to know your need the soil

wants to know your talent your ability to put seed in the ground now you got

two feet an employer and the company the same way don't make the employer your

banker make the banker your banker

I found out the same thing is true with friendship best not to make your friend

your loan company because the two now get confused so do you want me to be

your friend or your budget finance I

didn't have many skills when I first awakened to the opportunity that you

know you could work for pay I knew how to milk cows but you know that was about

it and it didn't pay very well but when I was introduced to network

marketing health and nutrition a marketing system where I could start at

the bottom go to the top and start part-time it literally revolutionized

and changed my life forever I've never been the same and that big share of my

story now is sharing with people around the world this extraordinary opportunity

and then along with it the philosophy that makes it work because you can have

every technique in the world and the best product in the world and you can

have the finest support system in the world but unless you have the philosophy

that drives you to do the necessary things to make it work then nothing

works so I like to talk about all the things that made it work for me and see

if that might not be valuable for someone else so I want you to take some

good notes if you're ready to take notes say I'm ready

I like this crowd already treat me well I might take you with me as my traveling

audience now here's the next key on being prepared for the next century and

that is your personal philosophy at age 25 the things that so dramatically

changed my life was number one the discovery of a unique product that I

could believe in my my mother taught nutrition and she taught good health so

I was the beneficiary of that it came from my grandmother my grandfather

passed it on to my mother she taught it passed it on to me my father never had a

major illness lived to be 93 my mother extended her life according to the

doctor at least 20 years she should have died at least 20 years earlier than she

did simply because she sketched out those years by the study of good

nutrition I was an only child and mamma studied and you know mixed up all that

stuff back then you know what she'd say hey me and Papa and her she said drink

this stuff if it don't kill us I think it'll help you know and we're bagging

down this stop

and mama taught all of that but the payoff was so incredible I passed it on

to my two daughters they've never been ill at they passed it on to their

children my grandchildren that haven't been yelled I mean the study of good

nutrition paying attention and being involved in the industry you're in it's

one of the best so that's so important your personal philosophy what you

believe in that's gonna carry you into the next century let me give you now

some of the early philosophies that changed my life forever I heard one of

them in my introduction some of these philosophies have lived with me now all

of these years I've passed them on and people have come back around things

drawn you know 10 years ago 20 years ago 30 years ago 35 years ago I sat in your

class and sat in your seminar and those early things that you taught I've

practiced it and I'm doing it a man not long ago showed me no teach up 23 years

ago and then he had me signed those notes he said I've used these notes to

develop my life my personal life in my business life and when he took those

notes he said I was 18 years old so it's incredible I'm so thankful for all these

years but now I want to pass it along to you some of the philosophy
