Lyme Disease, What is it? | Lyme Disease Awareness | SubLyme77 - Duration: 4:34.

welcome back to SubLyme77 your channel for Lyme disease awareness education and

inspiration my name is Regina Stoneham today I'm going to be covering the big

question what is Lyme disease how do you get Lyme disease where is Lyme disease

found and how to avoid Lyme disease here we go Lyme disease is a bacterial

infection primarily transmitted by ticks mainly deer ticks not all ticks carry

Lyme disease Lyme disease is carried by a spirochete a corkscrew-shaped

bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi

the great imitator because it can mimic many other illnesses patients with Lyme

disease are frequently misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia multiple sclerosis and many

psychiatric disorders including depression anxiety the best diagnosis of

these diseases may delay the treatment for the underlying cause which would be

the Lyme disease the next question is how do people get Lyme disease by the

bite of an infil or immature tick nymphs are about the size of a poppy seed so

they're very very small because they're so small the

bite at the tick is painless so therefore many people don't realize that

they've been bitten by a tank once the tick is attached

if undisturbed it starts to feed and may feed for several days the longer it

stays attached the more likely it is to spread Lyme disease and other pathogens

into your bloodstream it is where is Lyme disease found Lyme disease is found

everywhere except for Antarctica yeah it's everywhere

not all ticks are infected and lastly how do you avoid Lyme disease

well first you cover up you wear long sleeves and you wear long pants when you

go out into the woods or when you are gardening or

when you're rolling around in the grass you can also wear insect repellent

eucalyptus oil is also a good insect repellent after being outside always

always always check yourself and your children and your pets for ticks do a

head-to-toe search please don't assume that you are immune

ticks do not discriminate ticks love people so please don't assume that you

are immune from a tick bite if you do see a tick please remove it with

tweezers remove it up and out just straight out and save

that tick because if you start to have Lyme disease symptoms like fatigue and

fever and stiff neck and you might get a rash you'll have that tick as proof that

it's carrying Lyme disease so it can be tested also if you liked what you saw

please subscribe to my channel and also share this video if you have any

questions you can email me at asksublyme77@gmail.com thank you so

much and have a great day

What's your WTF moment in JAPAN? Ask people visiting Japan!! - Duration: 12:00.

-Oh right, like that building actually exists? -Exactly.

Maybe a host club they were trying to get us in to. They're very... trying to be very persuasive.

I wanna be a monster now!

-It's unique! -Very unique.

Whaaat!!?

Culture shock is a popular theme to ask to foreigners, here in Japan

So this time we went out again to ask foreigners what kind of "what the hell"- moment

they had when they came to Japan.

So let's go and ask foreigners in Japan.

When you came to Japan the first time or before, when you came...

What surprised you?

What made you go like, wha-what is this??- moment that you got.

I was most surprised that a lot of the anime that I had watched in the past was actually not just

like some magical world that didn't actually exist.

But it was like based on like real...

Like, configuration of the streets and things like that which I thought was very cool

-Oh right, like that building actually exists? -Exactly.

Yeah, that is actually a moment you sometimes have.

You're like, oh my God I've seen this building before! -Yeah, exactly!

For example, any place you can think of?

Uhm, no...

I just mean like, specifically like the architecture and like the way the streets are set up and things like that.

What surprised you when you came to Japan?

I came here yesterday, so everything is still new for me.

Beacuse I'm from Poland, and Poland is like totally different from Japan.

Everthing. Like, people. The streets...

All the cultural stuff...

Everything!

Yeah, I'm so shocked and excited about Japan-stuff.

Yeah, it's cool.

-And everything is very pink right? The shops and all. -Yeah, yeah.

So cute pink, and you know...

Girly...

In comparison to Poland it's a little bit more simple, kept it simple. Not so many pinks?

Yeah, Poland in general is more simple.

Hedgehog café.

Yes, I think that was it. Yeah...

There is a hedgehog café?

Yes, there is a hedgehog cafe. And you scoop hedgehogs, and you can pet them.

And they're prickly and you just sit there with hedgehogs on your lap, for a half an hour.

-Did you do that? -Yes!

-How was it? -It was fabulous!

Yeah. It's fantastic!

We met very nice sleepy hedgehogs.

Where did you go? Where was that?

Right around the corner. Right here, somewhere in Harajuku.

Awesome!

I think I need to try that sometime.

What was your "what??!"- moment?

So, I'm having a happy "what"- moment because I love Matcha.

And it's harder to get in the United States, and there's Matcha everywhere.

So I'm so happy with all the Matcha treats and Matcha tea and much ice cream.

So you're like, "what again, what again?".

Yes more Matcha!

What's a thing you were seeing and were like, what the hell is that?

Like, something that made you go like "what the...".

When we first came off the train station we were in the shinjuku area

And one of the first things we saw was Godzilla.

And to see the giant Godzilla on top the Roof was rather amazing.

I think that was one of our wow- moments there.

Absolutely, the massive Godzilla in Shinjuku!

I've seen that one before as well.

Even if you go pass by the train you can actually see it from the train if you're lucky.

I guess they're a lot of gentlemen on the streets of Shinjuku.

Actually, they like to... They kinda want to come up and talk to you at random.

But I learned that they want to, hang out.

I guess it's like, maybe a host club they were trying to get us into.

They're very... trying to be very persuasive.

They try to be.

In Shinjuku? What time did you go?

This was around like 11... like 11 or 12 on Saturday night.

-Saturday night? -Yeah, Saturday night zone.

So that was interesting. But also funny.

Oh god! Evening Shinjuku, Saturday night.

That is like, party time. So you're never quite sure if it's a host or if it's a chat-up.

No idea.

I just know that they looked very fashionable, very on point with their clothes. That's how I got suspicious.

Just like...

A really good looking guy asking me. Like, what's going on??

I don't know!

What is the moment when you went, what the...??

I'm not sure.

Maybe that first time we walked into a restroom and it was full of nothing but squatty potties.

What?

Like, there was this restroom. And it's completely Japanese style.

And when you walk in, there's no urinals...

Like, no sink. Just squatty potties.

In each stall...

I was just like... No...

Give me...

Like, a toilet.

You mean squatty potties, like these little holes in the ground?

-Yes. -Right!

Normally they have, in the restrooms here like, one or two Western styles and a sink.

But no, just squatty potties everywhere.

Be honest. I had this random moment when I was wondering, how do men use squatty potties?

I just... I would not know, I haven't tried.

-You just walked straight out. -Yeah...

Well, we've been to Kawaii Monster Café.

What surprised you there?

The beautiful ladies, the outfits.

The food.

The ambiance.

Actually, the best of Japanese people is their culture.

And how they accommodate you with their hospitality.

And uhm...

And how they portrayed anime.

It's like, very real.

They won't even...

Just let you see. They will let you experience everything.

Living doll!

Just like a living doll.

And you look Wonderful!

Yeah!

Feel like. I'm not prepared.

Because you said that you like colorful.

So the Kawaii Monster Café was THE place, right?

Yes, yes.

Plenty of people have never seen the Kawaii Monster Café. What was it like?

Kawaii Monster Café is really...

You know. The title itself is... It is (what is states).

The restaurant is very kawaii, which means pretty.

And there's like a monster. So pretty monster.

-It has an edge to it. -Yes, yes.

And it's really like, Alice in Wonderland. But with more vivid colors.

Yes, and more lively.

And the food is colorful!

And it's unexpected.

Because usually when we hear "monster" it's like, it's horror. It's scary.

But there it's like, I wanna be a monster!

I wanna be a monster now.

-Unique! -Yeah, it's very unique.

A lot of politeness.

Like, in the morning. How they greet you and just...

When you leave certain stores, even on our tours they bowed when the bus drove off.

Even once a while even I felt embarrassed.

I was just like, it's okay it's okay.

As we walked, I don't know. It got really interesting though.

It's a lot. Definitely compared to America. No one is as polite all the time.

I mean in the hotels, the restaurants, the tours.

But here it's very respectable.

A lot of the cafés we went to were amazing.

We went to a maid café, @home café.

And it was like all the pink and the excitement, woohoo.

So that was rather interesting. And all the little details they put into food and presentation...

That was really nice. And then we went to a butler café as well.

And just to see the total opposite was really interesting as well.

An experience that I don't know if I'd find in New York.

Or have an opportunity. Unless i'm like, really high class.

But it was nice to have the opportunity to feel like I'm upper class person while I'm here, so.

They definitely make you feel like that right, at the butler café.

Yes definitely. It was really cool to be treated like a princess.

For a hour or so...

Your shoes!

Always the shoes.

We keep forgetting to take off our shoes.

-Right! -Yes!

When I put my handbag on the ground

and then someone lifts it up and puts something underneath to hold it.

So yes, putting things on the ground seems to be like...

We're not sure where, or when. Or why.

And it's all so busy, and I feel like I'm always bumping into people going the wrong way to get around people.

So those are the big things..

-Shoes, items on the floor... -Yeah.

-Bumping into people. -Yes!

I think, lots of things.

The train system has been easy to figure out.

We went to Kyoto, we went to Osaka.

We went to Tokyo.

Like, getting between those places...

It was... None of us speak the language and yet we figured it all out.

It was easy, yeah.

I like the trains... I like to learn the language!

We're trying to figure out what the characters mean. Just from the context, so yeah.

We're... I'm up to about four or five characters that I can recognize.

Yay!

Yeah, it's not very many.

Anything you were like, that actually went pretty well!

Uhm well... we got to meet up with one of our friends who's been living in Japan actually for five years.

So she was teaching us a little bit, just about the culture, the customs and about the foods.

So we went with her. We made the Japanese pancake. What's it called, miyake, Okonomiyaki.

Yes, and so that was really fun.

Because I think if we hadn't been with her we wouldn't have known what to do.

But because we had a little bit of help

and she was able to show us how to make it and we cooked this delicious meal, and it was really fun.

And that was a good day. I feel like things went well.

I see you had your Suica card there by the way. Where did you get that from?

We got ours in Osaka.

And it's really come in handy. Like, we're obviously using all the public transportation.

So we use it all the time.

It's super handy.

So that's one of the things you...

I was going to go into that actually, things that you think went particularly well when you came to Japan.

So you got yourself one of those cards?

Definitely must-have when you go to Japan.

One of these or maybe one of the other public transportation cards always comes in handy.

It surprised me how much we're using public transportation

like versus in America, or just like car or walk.

But here it's always like bus, train, monorails

subway...

Definitely.

Okay, get yourself one of those digital train passes.

How about you? Hey, you both have them!

It's the A, it's the I.... You don't see this one very often.

In Tokyo it's the Suica, and this is the ICOCA.

-Yeah, from Osaka. -Osaka!

-And you can use it in Tokyo as well? -Yes. We have been able to.

So even if you touch down in Osaka, you can still use it all the way in Tokyo.

And actually people might mention it a lot like, "oh, it's a different one".

Yeah.

-It's the first time I've seen it actually. -Oh wow.

-Yeah. -Oh, really?

... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ...

Just making sure to go to enough places.

Like, we've been to Namba, Nara...

-Kyoto. -Kyoto...

We're here in Tokyo now. Harajuku...

We went to the One Piece Tower.

Which I totally recommend if you like One Piece.

We've seen a lot and I think we've done a good job at it.

Oh! Erm...

Don't be afraid to like explore, the experience, the culture.

Try the food. It's absolutely delicious!

It's amazing.

Even if you don't know what it is, just try it?

Yes! Just try it, go for it! Try it at least once.

Thank you so much for your time. That was an awesome interview!

Thank you!

So foreigners shared their "what the"-moments with us.

And maybe you are aware of some of them, some of them were new for you.

One thing that surprised me a lot in Harajuku

and that keeps on surprising me when I see it happening.

There is a guy who... does walk a dog

but it's actually not a dog.

It's a little tawashi, which is like a little brush.

And he will, almost religiously, go through Harajuku

and sometimes I've seen him in Shinjuku.

And he has a little leash

and on that leash, he pulls a little brush behind it...

And sometimes the brush, on Halloween, is wearing little Halloween clothes.

And sometimes, the brush on Christmas

was having Christmas decorations...

And I thought that was just a thing that one person did.

Because maybe that´s what he's into

or maybe he wants attention, or maybe it's a certain art expression.

But once in Shinjuku

I kid you not.

That person was there, and he met with another guy

who was also walking his brush!

It was just like, what??!!

Is this a club?

Is that a thing? Instead of walking your dog, you just pull out your little...

brush around..?

Seriously.

Google: Tawashi

and have a look how the brush looks

and that's... It's literally that big...

It's just a little round brown brush that he was walking it.

(whispers) I don't know why...

It's still a mystery to me!

But I found it quite interesting, kind of amusing. And I thought...

Well! You're free to do that, if that makes you happy.

So what was your "what the..."-moment when you went abroad.

Let us know!

Please leave us a message down below. Looking forward to reading it!

And I catch you here soon, on Ask Japanese.

Don't forget to walk the brush!

Kim Jong-un visits mausoleum for late father, vows 'fight' for North Korea - Duration: 0:39.

North Korea's Kim Jong-un paid tribute on Sunday to his late father, Kim Jong-il, on

the sixth anniversary of his death.

The North's state-run media waited until Monday to release a photo of Kim at the Kumsusan

Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang.

There had been some confusion on Sunday as watchers had been curious about Kim's whereabouts

on what is considered North Korea's "greatest national mourning day."

The Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim as saying he would fight to make North Korea

(quote) "independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defense."

Philippines landslides kill at least 26 after tropical storm - Duration: 1:31.

Turning now to the aftermath of a powerful tropical storm in the Philippines.

Landslides following that storm have left dozens of people dead and missing.

Ro Aram has more.

Tropical storm Kai-tak battered the island of Biliran in the eastern Philippines on Saturday

with heavy rains, strong winds and flash flooding.

This triggered landslides, which authorities say killed at least 26 people the day after,

but the national disaster risk reduction agency is yet to confirm the death toll.

Rescuers are frantically searching for 23 people still missing, but those efforts are

proving difficult as many areas are still flooded.

The storm, now downgraded to a tropical depression, forced about 88-thousand people to flee their

homes.

It also cut power in many areas, forced the cancellation of several flights and stranded

more than 15-thousand people in various ports in the region.

Local officials have described rocks as big as cars, dislodged by the rainfall, falling

on houses.

President Rodrigo Duterte has said he would soon fly to the storm-hit areas, including

the neighboring islands of Samar and Leyte.

Those regions are still recovering from Typhoon Haiyan, which killed more than five-thousand

people and affected millions in 2013.

The Philippines is no stranger to tropical storms, with about 20 major ones battering

the nation each year.

Gov't unveils plans to support innovative growth over next five years - Duration: 1:58.

In addition to trade, the ministry also submitted its plans to support innovative growth over

the next five years.

It believes supporting Korea's small and mid-sized firms during the transition to the Fourth

Industrial Revolution will enable companies to create hundreds of thousands of jobs in

the years to come.

Kim Ji-yeon reports.

In a report to the National Assembly's Committee on Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups

on Monday... the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy unveiled plans to support innovation

by supporting new industries, small and medium sized companies and industries in provincial

areas for balanced growth.

Through the industrial policy reforms that focus on innovative growth, it's aiming to

create more than 300-thousand jobs by 2022.

For the creation of new industries, it has selected five main sectors for support which

includes future mobility, superconnectivity, renewable energy, increasing lifespans in

our fast aging society and the so-called "Fourth Industrial Revolution."

The ministry says it aims to make it possible for autonomous vehicles to operate on expressways

by 2020... and increase the number of electric vehicles to 350-thousand by 2022.

It will also establish a 275-million U.S. dollar fund to increase investment related

to the Fourth Industrial Revolution... such as smart home appliances that incorporate

Internet-of-Things technology.

The ministry says it'll increase the number of medium sized IT companies in Korea and

boost the number of innovative clusters and tech convergence districts to 15 by 2022.

The ministry plans to unveil detailed measures by sector during the first three months of

next year.

Australian police arrest man accused of brokering N. Korean missiles - Duration: 1:53.

Police in Australia have arrested a man suspected of acting as an economic agent for North Korea.

They say there's evidence the suspect has been in contact with "high ranking officials"

in the North.

Park Soyun reports.

Local authorities identified the suspect as a 59-year-old naturalized Australian man originally

from South Korea.

They say Choi Chan-han was a low-level hospital worker who had been living alone in Sydney.

He's been charged with brokering sales of missiles, missile components and expertise

from North Korea,... as well as discussing the supply of weapons of mass destruction.

Choi is said to have been working for the North Korean government since at least 2008.

Police also say Choi attempted to transfer coal from North Korea to non-government entities

in Vietnam and Indonesia.

A high-ranking police official said he had never seen such a case in Australia.

He said that, if successful,... the various trades could have amounted to tens of millions

of dollars.

(English) "We think he is acting as an economic agent

on behalf of North Korea.

There is nothing to suggest he's doing anything but that, he's doing it out of a patriotic

purpose...

I think it does go to show that the sanctions are biting, the fact that we've got people

involved in these types of activities means that I think the sanctions are actually having

some effect."

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull also responded to the arrest.

(English) "North Korea is a dangerous, reckless, criminal

regime threatening the peace of the regime...

It is vitally important that all nations work relentlessly to enforce those sanctions because

the more economic pressure that can be brought on North Korea the sooner will that regime

will be brought to its senses."

Choi could face up to ten years behind bars if convicted and has been denied bail.

Winter Sports Boom in Korea - Duration: 4:12.

The PyeongChang 2018 Olympics are less than 100 days away.

On the brink of this grand, global sports festival, the public's interest in winter

sports is also rising.

Now we zoom in on the passion and anticipation of the upcoming winter Olympics displayed

on the ice.

This is an indoor ice link in Gyeonggi-do Province.

Since its opening in 2003, this link has been a great spot for locals to spend their leisure

time.

On one side of the rink, some young skaters are practicing marching in place wearing protective

gear and skates.

This class is run by the Korea Skating Union to support and encourage the sports activities

of adolescents.

In the class, the students get to learn the basics of skating for two hours daily for

four weeks.

Their passion is burning as the Olympics are approaching.

(Korean) "We're running short courses on some 20

ice rinks across the country, and the public's interest is increasing with the Olympics approaching."

The students are skating on the ice...

Though they are just beginners, they seem to be fully mesmerized by skating.

(Korean) "As a beginner, I suffered from foot pain

and had a hard time learning how to walk in skates.

Nevertheless, learning something with new people is fun."

(Korean) "It's hard to keep my balance on ice, but

it's really fun, not to mention beautiful.

That's why I love skating."

The number of winter sports clubs is increasing at the same time.

As of the end of 2017, there were a total of 743 winter sports club registered in the

Korean Sport and Olympic Committee with nearly 30,000 members.

A considerable number of the members join the clubs in anticipation for the PyeongChang

2018 Olympics.

All the figure skating clubs have seen a drastic increase in membership from 5 years ago, thanks

to the Korean figure skating queen Kim Yuna.

Hwang Il-hae and Kim Mi-yang ( & ) fell into ice dancing after turning 40.

Some 40 members of the gathering borrow an ice rink to practice three times a month.

(Korean) "I began ice dancing because it offered a

much more amusing way of enjoying skating with music and dance."

(Korean) "It's very refreshing to sweat in the cold.

It's a seasonal trait of winter."

Every year, an average of 50,000 people visit ski slopes, and there are as many as 480 skiing

clubs across the country.

The challenge is winter is short, and most ski slopes are located in the countryside,

making it hard for people to enjoy skiing frequently.

Some places incorporate virtual reality into skiing to attract skiers.

Standing on the simulator in ski boots, the speed and thrill of skiing can be experienced.

(Korean) "I'm skiing indoors today, but it doesn't

feel much different from ordinary, outdoor skiing and is a very good exercise.

It's great."

This place also displays the immense interest in the upcoming Olympics.

Here visitors can ride the Olympic courses, including the downhill, the slalom, and the

giant slalom.

Allowing people to ski all season, these sites are creating a new way of spending leisure

time.

(Korean) "Many aspiring athletes come to ski here,

and ski club members also come to this place after work on weekdays to quench their thirst

for skiing and snowboarding."

Short winter and lack of facilities have long been a major challenge for Korean winter sports.

With all the efforts made for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics, it looks like winter sports

in Korea will undergo major change... for the better of course.

Comprehensive inspection of PyeongChang Olympic venues and facilities to start - Duration: 0:53.

As we approach the final countdown for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics,... the South

Korean government is working hard to make sure everything runs safely and smoothly.

It's launching a comprehensive inspection of key facilities starting today,... to ensure

the global sporting event is protected from the threat of terrorism.

The government is operating an inter-ministry team-- comprised of ministry officials and

experts that will sweep the Olympic venues and facilities.

Also on the radar are people trying to cash in on the event through unethical practices,...

such as overcharging for accommodation.

In addition, officials will crackdown on places rejecting reservations for no good reason.

They will also check the hygiene status of hotels and rental accommodations.

Main opposition party attempting to revamp tainted image - Duration: 1:59.

Hoping for a clean slate ahead of local elections next year,... Korea's main opposition Liberty

Korea Party is attempting to erase its connections to the now-jailed former President Park Geun-hye.

In the latest move,... it has stripped a handful of pro-Park lawmakers of their council chairmanships.

Kim Min-ji reports.

Korea's second largest political party is pulling out all the stops to revamp its tainted

image,... following the power abuse scandal that led to the impeachment of former president

Park Geun-hye.

On Sunday,... the main opposition Liberty Korea Party stripped four incumbent lawmakers

of council chairmanships,... a move seen as a first step in purging those loyal to Park.

The four -- Suh Chung-won, Yoo Ki-june, Bae Duk-kwang and Um Yong-soo -- are among 62

to be replaced... following a month-long audit... conducted as part of the party's reform efforts.

The councils represent the party in an electoral district.

Although the move is widely seen as a means to distance itself from the ousted president

ahead of local elections in June,... the party claims the audit was conducted without any

political bias.

(Dec. 17, 2017) "Encouraging party registration, carrying

out key tasks, activities as lawmakers, participation in party events -- we used criteria that are

measurable in the audit.

There were no political considerations whatsoever."

( , 6 , , . ...)

Worried about a backlash from its own party members,... the Liberty Korea Party canceled

its usual Supreme Council meeting on Monday morning.

The opposition party instead held a smaller scale meeting chaired by its newly-elected

floor leader.

Some of party's lawmakers have expressed anger over the move,... while some purged lawmakers

are seeking to take action,... saying the audit was unfair.

But the move is expected to strengthen Party Chair Hong Joon-pyo's grip on the power,...

especially as the new floor leader shares his vision for the party.
