what is up everybody welcome back to the five reasons why series where I do the
research by scouring the internet for information so you don't have to in this
series we discussed the topic at hand I defend it as well as give insight and my
opinion my name is ZSG and in this video we are
covering the five reasons why people hate holiday shopping this is a joyous
time of year this is a celebratory time of year this is a time of year where you
can get together with your family and your friends maybe you're looking
forward to getting some great gifts but it also happens to be a very stressful
time of year for a lot of different people particularly if you are
responsible for buying the gifts and doing all of the holiday shopping
fortunately for me I'm kind of at a place in life now where if I want
something I can just go buy it but I'm curious to know what you're hoping to
get for Christmas this year or if you're gonna be doing some of the holiday
shopping tell me what you're gonna be getting for some of the other people
that you think that they'll really enjoy this holiday season but for me when it
comes to the holidays man oh man I hate going to the mall it is a nightmare this
time of year not to mention where I live we actually have a best mall in the
entire area so we get all of the surrounding cities that just flood to
our mall during the holidays so if you think that your mall gets crap our mall
gets really crowded my biggest recommendation is if you do have to go
to the mall to do your shopping do it there in the off hours go very early in
the morning go on like a Tuesday when there's gonna be a lot less people there
it'll save you a lot of headaches and trouble
but what I'm offering you right now is to vote in our poll be sure to make your
voice heard and let us know whether you enjoy the holiday shopping or you
absolutely hate it of course there are positive things about doing the holiday
shopping you know that you're getting gifts for people that are really going
to love it and they're going to appreciate that you got them something
for the holiday if you are new and you subscribe make sure you let me know down
below in the comment section so I can personally thank you and welcome you to
my channel take that like button and let us go ahead and begin with the number
five reason of why people hate holiday shopping
at number five the people say they hate holiday shopping because it's expensive
and that is absolutely true it gets very expensive around the holidays if you're
gonna be doing the shopping especially if you have a long list of family
members and friends most people that have to do the holiday shopping end up
having to buy gifts for 30 different people or more it's bad enough when you
get invited to somebody's birthday party and you got to get them a $25 gift a $30
gift but when Christmas rolls around and you got to buy that same $25 gift for 30
different people it adds up fast if you have a family with kids and you're
trying to give them a special holiday and you really want to make sure that
they wake up Christmas morning run down to the Christmas tree CNET filled with
all these exciting gifts that they wanted and that probably means that
you're gonna have to lay down a lot of money to get those gifts of course there
are obvious steps that you can take to make your holiday spending a little bit
more tolerable watch for sales maybe participate in Black Friday I'm not the
biggest fan of Black Friday but I do highly recommend Cyber Monday and
there's plenty of other sales that go on during the entire holiday season leading
up to Christmas you just need to be a savvy consumer and watch for sales if
you consider yourself to be a veteran shopper and you know all of the ins and
outs and tricks let us know down below what one of your tips are how do you
recommend that people save money around the holidays when it comes to buying
gifts and that brings us to the number four reason why people hate holiday
shopping and number four the people say it's stressful and time consuming buying
gifts can be very stressful there's the concern of whether or not you're gonna
get the right gift or even if you do know exactly what that person wants for
Christmas are you even going to be able to find it inside of the store
pretty much every single year there's at least that one hot ticket item that
every single kid wants in the past it's been X boxes or Playstations or
Nintendo's but there is always at least one item that virtually every single kid
wants to receive for Christmas and what that means is it's not going to be found
in every single store they're gonna sell out so yes holiday shopping can induce a
lot of stress in terms of going out and actually finding your guests for the
people that want them but outside of that is just stress
to go to the mall and have the throngs of people that are surrounding you
everybody else has seemingly stressed you feed off of their energy and it only
makes you more stressed my biggest recommendation when it comes to handling
stress in a healthy way around the holidays it's just take a moment take a
moment for yourself step back take a breath go to the food court buy yourself
an ice cream cone do something that'll just calm your nerves and make you feel
better recognize that around the holidays even though so much of it is
about giving back to other people it's okay to take a little bit of time for
yourself as for the complaint of people saying that it's time consuming it can
be very time consuming finding gifts and getting the right gifts and even
sometimes trying to figure out what people want for Christmas when they
don't explicitly tell you exactly what they want for this I recommend it's
important just to make an executive decision
do your best to cut down on your shopping time by deciding beforehand
exactly what you're going to get people for Christmas this year that way when
you go to the store you don't have to waste time browsing around and getting
lost in the crowds instead you show up you know exactly what you're there for
you go and get the items you go to the cash register and you get out go back
home get back to enjoying your life and that brings us to the number three
reason why people hate holiday shopping and that brings us to the number three
reason why people hate holiday shopping at number three the people say they hate
holiday shopping because of the lack of customer service and the available staff
when you need help a lot of employees at department stores during the holidays
are seasonal hires that means they'll only work at the store for a couple of
weeks or maybe a month and a half and this usually means they know very little
about how to do their job and a lot of them have an attitude of what difference
does it make I won't be working here after Christmas anyways I actually feel
this is a very valid complaint however as difficult as it is not being able to
get the proper customer service when you're doing your holiday shopping I
think it's something that we just kind of have to accept it's one of those
status quo challenges that department stores just have to handle around the
holidays there's a huge influx of shoppers and they just don't have the
staff to facilitate that that other means they have to expend tremendous
cost during the year to employ employees and be
overstaffed so that they can have employees that are knowledgeable during
the holidays or just hire seasonal employees which cuts down on their costs
tremendously so while it is difficult for me as the consumer I have to deal
with not getting proper customer service I completely understand where the stores
are coming from it's a move to try to keep expenses as low as possible so my
best advice for you is the shoppers try and place yourself in a position when
you do go out to shop but you'll most likely not require the assistance from
customer service do your research beforehand know exactly what you want
have all the information about the gifts that you're getting be accountable for
yourself and be accountable for your own holiday shopping don't rely on customer
service and that brings us to the number two reason why people hate holiday
shopping at number two the people say they hate holiday shopping because of
the attitude of other shoppers I'd completely empathize and I completely
understand where people are coming from with this complaint if you haven't
already seen my video about Black Friday go and check it out but I think that the
attitude of shoppers right around the holiday season gets much worse
particularly Black Friday it seems so horrible around Black Friday I swear to
you the worst in humans come out it's like people turn into complete animals
when they go out and shop for Christmas I feel like people have forgotten what
the original message the real message of Christmas is it's obviously about Jesus
Christ Christ Christmas but even if you're not a religious person you don't
consider yourself to be a Christian and you still practice Christmas just take a
chill pill and don't be one of the bad guys be one of the nice people pay it
forward and be good when you go out and shop don't create problems headaches and
stress for other people and that brings us to the number one reason why people
hate holiday shopping number one and anybody who is ventured out into the
world of holiday shopping really should have seen this one coming I know I did
at number one the people say they hate holiday shopping because of the crowds
and the lines I know I for one I have to completely agree with this I hate the
crowds and lines around the holiday season I mean don't get me wrong I love
the festivity I love the happiness there's definitely a magical feeling
right around the holiday season just as Christmas gets closer well let's get
real so many parents and grand parents and and without a doubt the
employees of the stores where everybody's shopping there's a lot of
stress and build-up that goes into actually preparing and making that
Christmas magic actually happened so because of that I wouldn't exactly say
that the crowds and lines are always hostile when you out of the big malls
and shopping stores when you go out to the mall and the stores around the
holiday season but there's definitely a little bit of a different tone in the
air amongst the shoppers I don't know about you but I can definitely feel that
there's a little bit of an anxiousness for people to get their work done
they're not exactly enjoying their shopping so the only advice that I have
to you is do your very best to prepare early just get all your shopping done as
quickly as you can most certainly do not wait until the last minute it's not
worth it but that's gonna be it from me everybody if you did enjoy the video and
