Waching daily Dec 21 2017

Hello,my name is Justin Williams

I'm the CEO of Be Amazing Talent

I'm an aspiring entrepeneur

/ model and actor.

My biggest fear in life

is to not be able to help

as many people as I would

like to help.

That's a big fear of mine.

What's one important trait

that I would be looking for

in a woman that I'm

willing to date?

...would be...respect.

She has to have respect for

herself, for her family,

and for her peers.

"If you could talk to everyone

in the world,

what would you say?"

[laughs]

I would say,

that you can achieve

anything in life that you put

your mind to.

What you focus on

is what you get.

And, if you're...unhappy

with what you're doing,

change it!

You have to be the change.

No one can do it for you

but you.

[laughs]

I like this! Oh!

"What gives you

goosebumps?"

What gives me goosebumps

is seeing others succeed.

That gives me goosebumps.

And, why?

Because I feel that...energy

inside of me...

...in them if that makes sense.

Because, I know I have goals

and I know that I have dreams

that I would like to achieve,

and I see others living

their dream.

That excites me and it

gives me those goosebumps.

Hmmm...

I can't answer it. No... [laguhs]

For who or what do you work for?

Hm...

I work for a legacy.

I want to be remembered

for all the good things

that I've done in people's lives

What type of difference

that I made in people's lives.

And what type of impact.

One thing that I would say that

a great mentor of mine,

which is...would be my mother

and my father,

They said, Justin,

"Show me your friends

and I'll show you your future.'

You become who you

hang around with.

How to Guide for Windows 3.1 Networking in Virtualbox - Duration: 3:15.

welcome back to the adventure this is Adam and today we're talking about

Windows 3.1 networking in VirtualBox we will get started right after this

to install the network card drivers we'll go into Windows setup go to

options I'm here will need to click on networks and go to install Microsoft

network then we'll need to click on drivers add an adapter we're going to

choose unlisted or updated network adapter go to browse and from this

dialog box pick our optical drive and get to our network card drivers that is

the correct driver we get these two protocols by default however I do want

tcp/ip enabled go to add protocol and select unlisted protocol and we will go

back to that optical drive and we're going to pull TCP 32b

and that is the right protocol that I want added yes you can replace those

files and completely happy with that so we do need to have the windows 3.11

disk seven inserted in the drive I have that done already though now we can

click close and okay those are fine and this is looking at the floppy drive

pulling those files from the disk

and then we'll need to insert disc number eight fantastic

and then we need to point it back to the optical drive for the network card

driver here good and I want auto configuration yes and I believe my

default gateway is 10.0.0.1 okay yes you didn't modify it because you couldn't

that's fine and let's try restart oh right we are

back after the restart we have our network card installed now I went ahead

and removed the protocols I didn't plan on using next in the series we will be

installing Internet Explorer subscribed for more videos on retro tech and legacy

software every Thursday thanks for stopping by see you next video

Joy to the World Easy Fingerstyle Solo Tutorial - Duration: 7:54.

How To Play Joy To The World Easy Fingerstyle Guitar

In this video, Im gonna teach you an easy fingerstyle solo version of Joy to the World.

Lets do this.

Hi Im Tomas Michaud of RealGuitarSuccess.Com. If youre new here go ahead and subscribe

to my channel so I can get you more guitar lessons to help you build confidence, connect

with others and have fun. It could be a lot of fun to learn music for the holidays and

its a great way to connect with others. Learning Christmas songs and playing for others can

bring up fun memories of time with family and friends and warm feeling. Today, were

gonna learn a fairly easy version of Joy to the World fingerstyle solo that I specifically

created to be both simple but sound pretty good. And its a good stepping stone to a more

elaborate version that Ive created.

First Im gonna play the entire song for you so you can get a chance to see what were

aiming at. Then were gonna break it down into sections and Ill give you tips on each

section on how to play it properly. Then finally stay till the end because Ill give you

a chance to download the notes and tabs to help you. Okay lets break it down.

Were gonna start with the first section which is the first four measures and sounds like

this. Youll gonna make a G chord and make the G chord with your second, third and pinky.

Will start with the pinch, the first string and the sixth string then use your first finger

second fret for the melody. Open, no base note there and then the pinky on the second

string, base note and then on the upbeat. The first finger on the B string the second

string, open, pinch with the base note. Now switch your second and third finger around

to the second fret. Im on the sixth string and the third string thats a pinch and

then back to the sixth string third fret with the third finger and then Im gonna play

up open third string okay. Now thats the first section four measures but theres

a pick up at the end of that measure right there to go into the next section. So Im

using my pinky on the second string third fret and here goes into the second section.

Base note, now Im on the D string and G again. That was the second section. Lets

break that down. So we will start with the pick up there on the first section it goes

into the C chord. I got my base note on the fifth string using my thumb and pinching.

First string for the melody. Again base note, on the upbeat melody again the E to the D

chord. By the way, you dont really have to make the D because Im really only using

this note. But I make the D chord partly out of a habit and partly because I do have a

more advanced version where youll gonna need more notes. So if you ever go to that,

youll already have the D form there. Youre playing the melody on the high E string second

fret. Base note again and melody and go to the G chord, pinky on the third fret first

string. And then theres a little really only need the first finger and again its

a habit to go like that even on not hitting that string so again. Base note and D chord

up and G and then theres a pick up again to the

third section and here we go until the third section.

You can tell were just going down the scale. And again, you dont actually have to make

the whole G. Im only using the base note here but its a habit and its easier for me

to just stick with making the G chord than to try to remember to tick my second finger

off. Its just not necessary. So Im going down the scale -- thats the melody. Im

holding the base note with my third finger using my pinky, second finger, pinky, first

finger. Here we go, pinch, melody, pinch, melody second string, third fret and upbeat

there and then down, pinch open second string. Again, so that phrase just repeats twice and

its the end to the third section.

Now into the fourth section, theres a pick up, open B string and I double the speed of

the base notes here so thats twice as fast .

To that same switching the fingers around thats actually form of a D chord. And then

into the fourth, fifth section , sixth section and final section so lets do that again.

Thats all the second string and the melody and Im just holding the G base note down.

Base note, now switching around the D chord will call it. Open B second string, first

finger C, open to the third string, G and into the fifth section. Heres the fifth

section. Switch around and end it. Okay start with the third string here, pinky on the third

fret, first string open, second string third fret, base note going down first string finger,

open, switch them around, to the second fret, third finger on the second fret third string

and then back third string. Switch them and back and on the fourth string.

A good way to learn this piece is to practice each of the sections separately and then try

adding one section to another and then practice the two together. Then add the third section

and practice those and keep doing that till you get to the whole song. I also recommend

that once you played the song all the way through you go back and play the beginning

again and go all the way up into that into that first part until the end of the eight

measure. I put a little symbol at the beginning of the eight measure _____ 7:33 its called

to let you know where you would stop if youre playing the first part again the second time

around.

Thanks for hanging out with me to this video lesson. Hey, did you find this particularly

difficult or maybe it was too easy for you. Let me know. Leave me a comment below. I look

forward to hearing from you. And if you havent already, go ahead and subscribe to my channel.

Bye for now.

Elektron MKII SCENES & PERFORMANCES explained - Rytm, Four, Octatrack - Duration: 6:10.

The Elektron instruments are known for their creative way of going about step sequencing.

Several of them also add real-time modulation control over synthesis and effects parameters.

This is a function that makes the instruments "playable" even though you might have

prepared patterns with both rhythm and melody in beforehand.

In this video I'll explore how Performances and Scenes are handled in the MKII instruments

released the last couple of months.

An Analog Four Performance is a group of five synthesis parameters controlled by one potentiometer.

By turning the pot, one can either increase or decrease any given value.

On the Analog Rytm a Performance is a group of up to 48 parameters controllable via pad

pressure. By applying pressure to one or several pads, one can modify sound and effects gradually.

A Scene on the Rytm is an instant way to alter a group of synthesis parameters at once. In

this case a pad acts as a switch to turn the scene on or off. Only one scene can be active

at a time, whereas several performances can be combined.

Scenes on the Octatrack is much like scenes on the Rytm - but with the added functionality

to use the crossfader to morph between two sets of locked parameters. Scenes are hosted

by either of the trig buttons. Crossfader end points (buttons A & B) are assigned to

any of the scenes.

For this arpeggio I want a performance to alter the perceived distance to the sound.

I'll make performance A; Lower the filter frequency, Lower the volume, Increase the

reverb send and the reverb decay (yes, performances can target several tracks as well as the FX

track) and increase the LFO depth to add some distant panning.

Just to show that several performances can be combined, I've created this bass for

track two. Why don't you identify the synthesis parameters that are being altered? The one

who gets most parameters correct will receive a tiny CabCurio care package. Contest

in

the comments!

Performance 1 - Adjusts the balance between Sample and synthesis playback.

Performance 2 - Filters out mid frequencies and adds reverb and some delay.

Performance 12 - Increases delay feedback and decreases delay time. This is not audible

until combined with with a performance or scene that actually includes delay send.

Scene 1 - Introduces bit reduction to the samples.

Scene 2 - Brings in plenty of delay.

Beauty and happy accidents lie within the combos.

On the Octatrack you assign a scene to either the A or B slot. Then you lock your parameter

of choice by press and hold.

With the crossfader at either end you can make instant switches between scenes.

Be assigning DIFFERENT scenes to the A and B

slot - the crossfader moves in-between values for a morph-like effect.

If you enjoy these videos at least half as much as I enjoy making them, please consider

supporting my work through Patreon. The crowd funding through there, helps a lot to provide

consistency and quality for the Cabinet of Curiosities.

In any case - I'm looking forward to seeing you next time! Adios!

Bisexual Erasure with Peter Musser - Duration: 8:05.

[WHIP CRACKING, COUGH]

Lindsey: I'm Dr. Lindsey Doe. This is Sexplanations, and we are here in

Missoula, Montana where my friend Peter Musser has come to visit me. I have the

amazing opportunity to interview him about something I'm particularly

interested in: bi erasure. Please tell me what bi erasure means to you.

Peter: Okay, so when I think of bi erasure, I think of those times when I am just living my

life, either in like a queer space or a straight space because there's

definitely a difference between the two, and I try and be my very queer bi self

and people just choose not to recognize that. So that can mean either having a

partner who like gets a little squeamish around when I say that I'm also

attracted to men, or also attracted to folks of, you know, a gender that isn't

mine, or it can be when I talk to straight folks who are like, "Well, are you

sure it's not really a phase?" Although the nice thing about being 30 is I don't

get that that often anymore now that I'm getting older. Lindsey: They either don't see

your sexual orientation, they falsify it, they look at it negatively... It's just invisible to them?

Peter: Yeah, so it's like if I'm in a queer space, people assume that

I'm queer, like that I'm gay specifically gay, that as a man I'm attracted to other

men, and they conveniently or not so conveniently ignore the fact that I'm

also attracted to folks who aren't men. And if I'm in a straight space, partly

because of the way that I just happen to present, people assume that I'm straight

because I don't have the common tells that people expect when it comes to

being gay. Like my voice is a little bit deeper, people don't really see me as

presenting particularly effeminately, whatever that means to them.

Lindsey: And you said that as you've aged, that's gone away a little bit more.

Peter: Yeah, in some respects. So now that I'm older, there's less of that like, "He's young, he's still

feeling himself out. He's going to figure himself out eventually, but right now

he's just trying to like test the waters, whatever those waters might be." And so

like it was a lot more prominent when I was like 22, 23, 24. And it you know, after

me saying, "No I don't have a particular preference for men or women or

non-binary folk, like this is who I am, now people are starting to believe me.

Lindsey: Do you think that has to do with your age or do you think that has

to do with society's climate at large? Peter: Well, it could be both honestly. And it

could also be the fact that like I, as an old, grumpy, lazy person, I just get to the

point where it's like, "I'm going to surround myself with people who are

going to respect who I am. Knowing that I have that power to surround myself with

the people who respect me as a person is really nice, so that's a thing that I try

to do whenever I can. Lindsey: I do the same thing. I choose to spend time

with people who are sex positive because it lifts me up and reaffirms who I am and what I'm

doing, and I also think it's important to go into spaces where we push on each

other as human beings and have a dialogue with those who might not

understand us in such a fundamental way. So for people who are experiencing bi erasure

or for people who are bi erasing, what would you say? How can we be part of

the conversation and create safe space for you? Peter: I recognize that you know,

although I still have to confront bi erasure, like I still have a certain

amount of power when it comes to dealing with that. Like because I present the way

I am and because people expect me to be a certain way based on how I present,

when I go into places and I say, "Hey, actually I'm not the way that you think

I am." And I say that over and over and over again, people start understanding

that, "Oh, well actually maybe like, maybe he's not going through a phase."

Lindsey: One of the ways that you do it is by

using gender nonspecific language. Peter: Right.

Lindsey: And one of the ways that I can have conversations with people to call them

out on bi erasure? What would that be? Peter: I think probably the best way, if you are

not yourself bi, is like talk about how it's a sign of respect to others.

So let's say that you're talking to someone else about me and they say, "Oh, I wonder

who Peter's girlfriend is?" You can be like, "Oh, actually Peter's partner is blah blah

blah blah blah." Because that removes the gender specificity of who I might be

intimately involved with at the moment. It's tricky though, because like on the

one hand you want to make sure that people get the message across, but on the

other hand like you don't want to push them so hard that they're turned

off from the message that you're putting across. Lindsey: Where do you feel bi erasure

most in your life now? Peter: At this point in my life I'm fairly lucky

that I don't really have to deal so much with bi erasure. Up in Vancouver I've found a

really great community of people who are just the most loveliest of human

beings. We're just a big old queer pile of love, it's great. The topic of my

sexuality doesn't come up anymore because everyone's like, "Oh, Peter is

attracted to everything. [Lindsey laughs]

Peter: In the nicest way of course. But like you know,

because I have that kind of community and because Vancouver is the place that it

is, like I have a partner now who is just as bi or pan as I am. And there's no lack

of people like that in my circles right now. I am where I am after a long process

of trying to get here. And even though bi erasure doesn't affect me as much as it

did say five years ago... You know, when I was in the Navy and I was trying to find

a place where I could be queer, as much as I loved my friends from that time, the

term "bi spy" came up multiple times. I still felt like I was part of the

community, but I felt like in spite of that I always had something to prove. I

had to prove the fact that I was attracted to men. I had to prove the fact

that I was attracted to women. And you know, the way that men are socialized

these days, they're already socialized to prove a bunch of things. And so having

another thing added on top of that was exhausting. Lindsey: For me it's really important

that the community knows that we see them. Peter: Mm-hmm.

Lindsey: That there are people like you and I who are very aware and do our best to

increase visibility, not just participate in the invisibility.

Peter: So I guess the thing that I would want to tell people is that you know,

if you find yourself being attracted to folks who are like you and who are not like you, that's okay.

That is either going to be a thing that is going to be with you for the rest of your life

to some extent, or it's going to be a thing that changes, and that's totally fine.

Like we know that sexuality exists kind of on a spectrum, like this is a

thing that science has tested and that has been shown to be the case.

Like this is the thing that I know from my lived experience that sometimes I'm more

attracted to women and sometimes I'm more attracted to men, but there's always

the attraction to both. And obviously, sometimes I'm attracted to folks who

don't fit either of those. Like I would say my last two partners don't really fit

neatly into either of those boxes. Lindsey: No one does.

Peter: Yeah, no one does! [Lindsey laughs]

Peter: Which is great. And so like, if you find yourself with these feelings, be okay

with the fact that you have these feelings, you know. Sit with it. Think to

yourself, "What does this mean for me?" And you know, let your own life inform what

that means to you. Other people may tell you that you're a certain way, and unless

they're you, they don't really know. Lindsey: So to the people who have

erased bisexuality or bi erase...? Peter: Sure.

Lindsey: What would you say to them? Peter: Just believe people when they

tell you that they're attracted to folks who aren't necessarily what you would

expect them to be attracted to. Whether or not you're gay or whether or not

you're straight doesn't really inform who they are.

Lindsey: So Peter, because you're not invisible Let's not erase you. Where are you?

Where all the places of Peter? Peter: So I have a YouTube channel called

Stacks & Facts, where I talk about the joys of library and information science. You may

also recognize me if you watch Lindsey from another channel I did called

Go VERB a NOUN, where I interviewed her back in 2014. And Twitter @the_musser.

M-U-S-S-E-R. Be happy to hear from you.

Both: And don't forget to stay curious!
