001 Introducing Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA Evaluation Kit - ClockFabric (with subtitles) - Duration: 20:21.

Welcome to ClockFabric Electronics Academy. Here we'll study Electronics and Computation from an Inventor's perspective.

In this video we'll introduce our viewers to the Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA Evaluation Kit.

We'll do the unboxing under the camera and consider the most prominent components present on the board.

In the end we'll put together all the components in one slide and create a highly simplified Board Block Diagram that we'll be referring to throughout the course.

My name is Bard and I'll be the host for this video session.

In 2015 Intel acquired Altera.

After the acquisition the latest offering from Intel and Altera in their line of FPGAs are the Cyclone 10 family of FPGAs that were announced in the year 2017.

In the same year Intel also launched Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA Evaluation Kit for the FPGA developers to start experimenting with their latest product.

Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGAs are optimized for low static power and low-cost applications and are fully supported by Quartus Prime Software Suite.

Based on the price point at which the Evaluation Kit was released and availability of a much more accessible toolset that is Quartus Prime Lite Edition which can be downloaded without having to buy a license.

It looks like Intel is planning to improve on FPGA technology and bring it to a much wider audience.

And with courses like this and a much more open ecosystem we believe Intel will succeed in bringing this technology to the masses, 98 and 3 quarters percent guaranteed.

At the end of this course we are confident that our viewers will be motivated enough to integrate FPGAs into their next project and realize its full potential.

They should also be able to scale up to bigger and more complex designs using Intel Quartus Prime Standard and Pro editions without any difficulty.

So, these are the reasons we chose to use Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA Evaluation Kit as our development platform for learning the FPGA technology.

Without further ado, let's do the unboxing now by switching on to the camera.

So, this kit came in a very nice package.

This package itself shows that Intel plans to reach a much wider audience regarding this kit because it looks like this kit could be hung on the shelving at a retail store.

We got ours from Mouser.com.

Saying that, let's open the box now. Here we go, this here is the board itself.

Let's set it aside for now.

This is the Y-cable that we'll talk about later when we consider the power supply options and development.

There are also some documents present in the package which we'll look into right now.

The first one looks like some kind of MSDS document which we'll have to consider before disposing off this board.

The second one is kind of important: considering safety and regulatory information.

The third one is a quick setup guide, which also provides a link to its official website.

Ok, now let's come back to the board.

This little label hanging around the board contains a guideline saying that this board is for evaluation only and can be used only by product developers, software developers and system integrators.

Now let's get rid of that.

On the screen we can see two high resolution snapshots of both top and bottom faces of the board put together side by side.

These are the pictures we'll be using while we study the components present on the board.

Oh! Before we start, we would recommend our viewers to grab a cup of tea or their favorite beverage because it's going to be quite a ride.

So, the most noticeable component on the board is of course the Cyclone 10 LP FPGA device itself.

On the screen, adjacent to the snapshot of the real chip on the board we have created this highly generalized topical view of the FPGA device and its pin arrangement along with the I/O Bank position.

For a more detailed assignment we'll refer to the board schematics when we start using this chip.

For now, let's have a brief overview of the Cyclone 10 LP FPGA device present on the board.

It's a 256-pin UBGA package and the I/O pins are arranged in 16 x 16 grid array at the bottom of the chip.

These I/O pins are intrinsically grouped into 8 groups also referred to as I/O Banks, and each I/O Bank in the device has a separate power bus.

The I/O Banks at the sides, 1, 2, 5 and 6 are also referred to as Row I/O Banks.

Similarly, I/O Banks at top and bottom, 3, 4, 7 and 8 are called Column I/O Banks.

Only the column I/O Banks support the 1.2V HSTL Class II I/O standard, while all I/O Banks support all other single-ended and differential I/O standards that are supported by Cyclone 10 LP device.

These details come in handy when we start interfacing other peripherals to the board.

In the realm of FPGAs one of the key features that dictates the overall personality of the device is the Logic Element count, which tells us how complex of a logic can be programmed on that particular device.

This device has 24,624 logic elements.

This device also has internal memory that is composed of memory blocks which can be configured as RAM, FIFO buffers or ROM.

This device has 66 M9K memory blocks with a total M9K Memory Block capacity of 594Kb.

It also has 66 18 x 18 Multipliers which will enable us to implement custom DSP blocks within the device.

It has 4 independent PLLs to drive 20 Clocks which will in-turn drive the internal Clock Fabric within the core.

So, that's where our Channel name ClolckFabric comes from.

Out of 256 pins, 150 pins can be utilized as I/Os and 52 out of them support Low Voltage Differential Signaling or LVDS.

The core runs at voltage range of negative 0.5V to positive 1.8V.

By default, it has been set to positive 1.2V based on the board configuration.

The input clock frequency supported by this device is in the range of 5MHz to 472.5MHz.

There is so much to this FPGA device, that's why we'll consider its Architecture and Core Fabric in a separate video.

Since all the programmable logic in the chip is controlled by the clock, let's consider the clock sources provided by the board next.

This here at the back of the board is the Si510 50MHz Crystal from Silicon Labs, which acts as a dedicated source of clock for the PLLs present in the FPGA device.

Based on the schematics two 50MHz clock output from this crystal, CLKp/1 and CLKn/2, are routed into Max 10 FPGA as M10_CLK50M and to Cyclone 10 LP device's I/O Bank 1 as C10_CLK50M, respectively.

Once again here at the back of the board we can see this chip from Silicon Labs.

This is a programmable clock generator coupled with this 25MHz Crystal.

The frequency outputs from this chip can be controlled by interfacing to it via an I2C port.

The best thing about this board regarding this programmable clock generator is that Intel provides a GUI application to program this chip; so that we can configure the clocks coming out of this device before we start writing our FPGA logic.

Based on the schematics this programmable clock generator has three clock outputs, CLK0, CLK1 and CLK2.

These clock signals, after they come out of the chip, are routed to the Cyclone 10 LP as CLK0 as ENET_CLK_125M to I/O Bank 3, CLK1 as C10_CLK_ADJ to I/O Bank 6 and CLK2 as HBUS_CLK_50M to I/O Bank 5.

By default, their values are set to CLK0 at 125MHz, CLK1 at 100MHz and CLK2 at 50MHz.

After the clock sources let's consider the external memory devices installed on the board.

This here is one of the two external memory devices present on the Board.

This 128Mb memory chip from Synaptic Labs supports HyperRAM technology which is controlled by HyperBus Controller also known as HBMC.

The 8-bit HyperBus pins coming out of this chip connect to I/O Bank 4 of the Cyclone 10 LP.

We'll talk about this chip and the HyperRAM technology in a separate video.

For now, let's just say that this part of the memory can be used as RAM for the processor core that we'll implement in our FPGA later.

Now let's consider the other external memory device present on the board.

Here is the 64Mb Intel EPCQ Flash Memory chip.

This memory chip will be used to store non-volatile configuration data, board information, test application data and user code space along with factory reset configuration data.

This is a low pin count device; data and control pins coming out of this device are connected to I/O Bank 1 of Cyclone 10 LP.

One interesting feature of this device is that data can be uploaded to it directly using serial mode.

This way, configuration data can be uploaded without having to bother with the FPGA device itself.

This configuration data can later be loaded into the FPGA device using an Active Serial Mode to program the logic.

After the memory devices present on the board, let's explore various connectors and interfaces exposed by this board.

This here is the 2 x 20 pin GPIO expansion header present in the board with 36 GPIO signals.

These pins are all 3.3V single-ended LVCMOS/LVTTL signals which are connected to Cyclone 10 LP directly.

There are also one 5V, one 3.3V and two GND pins present on this header.

We'll interface various external peripherals using these pins for our projects later.

This board also features Arduino UNO R3 type connectors.

These connectors are compatible with most Arduino shields.

But one thing to keep in mind is that only the 3.3V compatible shields should ever be connected to these headers or we'll risk damaging the FPGA.

All the digital I/O pins from these headers are connected to Cyclone 10 LP device pins.

The analog pins come from a different source which we'll discuss later.

This here is a 12-pin Digilent PMOD compatible connector which can be used to connect various low frequency, low I/O count peripheral modules also known as PMODs.

It provides 8 I/O signal pins which can offer current up to 250 milli Amps at 3.3V, when the board is powered from external power adaptor.

As a communication device this Evaluation Kit features one Ethernet port via a RJ-45 connector.

There is this LAN transformer from Wurth-Electronics between the RJ-45 connector and MAC-to-PHY interface, implemented using Intel XWAY Gigabit Ethernet technology.

This chip here is the Physical Layer Transceiver from Intel, which is configured to interact with the FPGA via RGMII interface with MDIO/MDC interfaces as the management front.

This 25MHz crystal provides clock to this Transceiver chip.

This particular MAC-to-PHY implementation is specific to Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA Evaluation Kit, which we'll discuss in detail in some later video.

The Ethernet RGMII interface connects to the I/O Bank 8 of the Cyclone 10 LP FPGA.

This board also features several LEDs, switches and buttons.

These three green LEDs are used as Ethernet Link status and speed indicators.

This Blue LED here is used to monitor the power status of the source. It turns on when the supplied power is within range.

This yellow LED indicates the FPGA's configuration status.

It does not glow if the FPGA has not been configured properly.

Apart from the aforementioned status LEDs this board also features four green user programmable LEDs.

These LEDs maintain a direct connection to the FPGA pins, so they can be used to test the designs.

This switch here, called the JTAG VTP bypass switch, is used to enable or disable direct JTAG programming of the FPGA.

That means that this board can be programmed using the 10-Pin JTAG header when this switch is pulled to Write Enable (WE).

These three switches marked as SW1.1 to SW1.3 are user programmable DIP switches.

Now let's look at the buttons that are present on this board.

This button here marked as "CONF" is the reconfiguration button. Press this button when the power is on to reconfigure the FPGA device.

This button here is the reset button. Press this button to initiate a device wide reset when the board is on.

These four buttons marked as S3 to S6 are user programmable buttons.

These user programmable LEDs, switches and buttons will come in handy while testing our designs in the future.

There are several voltage regulation and power management chips present on the board.

All these PowerSoCs are responsible for providing several voltage references to on-board components.

In fact, there are four Intel Enpirion PowerSoCs present on this board.

At the top face of the board we see this EN5329QI which provides a 1.2V reference at max current of 2A.

Similarly, the EP5358HUI present at the top provides a voltage reference of 1.8V at 0.6A max current.

If we look at the bottom of the board we see this EN5339QI that provides a reference voltage of 3.3V at max current of 3A.

Another EP5358HUI also present at the bottom provides a voltage reference of 2.5V at max current of 0.6A.

At this point, we have introduced almost all the components present on the board.

Now it's time we consider its programmability.

The Intel Cyclone 10 LP FPGA evaluation kit supports two configuration methods.

It can be configured by downloading a *.sof file to the FPGA which when reset or reconfigured will power on to a blank state.

The other method is to write a *.jic file to the EPCQ flash which when reset or reconfigured will configure the FPGA device from the flash memory via Active Serial Mode.

This board also supports two different methods to download these files.

The first method uses inbuilt Intel FPGA Download Cable II which is implemented by onboard Intel MAX 10 FPGA device and the USB controller via the USB mini Type-B receptacle.

We'll discuss the MAX 10 chip in a while.

Just to avoid any confusion pertaining to the FPGA Download Cable II, it was formerly known as USB Blaster II.

The second method of downloading a configuration file to the board involves this 10-pin JTAG header present on the board via some external programmer.

There are three diverse types of external programmers that could be connected to the JTAG header: namely, Intel FPGA Download Cable, Intel FPGA Download Cable II and Ethernet Blaster Download Cable.

Now let's look at this chip here, it is Intel MAX 10 FPGA device preconfigured to act like a microprocessor.

It is in fact a highly capable device with built in ADCs, NIOS II soft core embedded processor support, DSP blocks, and soft DDR3 memory controllers.

It also comes with dual configuration flash options enabling dynamic switching between two configuration images on a single chip.

This MAX 10 device has been preconfigured and locked at the time of manufacturing to host the FPGA Download Cable II and provide ADC functionalities to the Analog pins present in the Arduino headers and a few other minor functionalities.

Still, we think Intel's decision to use one FPGA device to configure another FPGA device instead of some other microcontroller, is really inspiring.

This MAX 10 FPGA device interfaces to the Cyclone 10 LP's JTAG pins located at I/O Bank 1 to ultimately upload the configuration settings to it.

And on the other end it is initiated either by this USB Controller from Cypress Semiconductor via USB or by these JTAG header pins with the help of some external programmer.

This 24MHz crystal provides a clock to the USB controller.

This 10-pin JTAG header interfaces with MAX 10 FPGA directly by skipping the USB controller, which in turn writes the configuration setting to the Cyclone 10 LP.

But as we have mentioned before, for direct JTAG programming the JTAG VTP bypass switch must be set to Write Enable.

We'll see how this works in a later video.

By providing two power supply options this board is flexible in terms of power supply as well.

. The first is 5V power, supplied through the USB.

This USB Y-cable that came in the package has these two USB A jacks at one end which are meant to be plugged into the computer at the same time.

The Black one provides power and USB functionality, and the Red one provides power only.

So both of these USBs combined provides about 1A which is enough current for most applications that doesn't have to power external peripherals.

But if we decide to use Arduino shield or connect high power peripherals to the board then the 5V external power should be provided through the on-board 5V DC barrel jack.

Any 5V DC power adaptor will work, keeping in mind that it can provide enough power to the peripherals connected to the device.

Intel recommends 5V DC with 3A current.

This board implements an OR-ing circuit to select a suitable power source, depending on the power requirements of the board.

At this point we are done introducing all of the visually prominent components present on the board.

Just for the sake of completion this board also contains various SMD components like these Op-AMPs from Microchip and these Current Sense Amplifiers from Linear Technology to enable the board's overall functionalities.

So, that's all for the unboxing and brief introduction of the board.

Before we leave let's put all the components we just discussed up until now into one slide and present the overall high-level Schematics and the Board Block Diagram.

This will be the block diagram that we'll be referring to throughout this course, we'll peek into the full schematics only when we need it.

We've also converted this Block Diagram into a PDF file which can be downloaded from our GitHub page by following the link below.

We hope our viewers found this video helpful.

If any comments don't hesitate to leave them below!

In the next video we'll install the toolsets, plug in the board and run the Board Test System.

So long for now!

TOP 10 MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIES OF 2018 - Duration: 10:04.

So 2017 was a surprisingly fantastic year for movies, with way more hits than misses

for me.

And 2018 looks like it's going to follow that trend.

Next year's gonna give us some of the most anticipated sequels of all time of all time,

new movies from great directors, and of course, yeah, there are gonna be some superheroes.

So today I thought I'd talk about the 10 movies I'm most looking forward to next

year.

Let's get into it.

At number 10 I have Aquaman.

Now as if it needs to be pointed out again, the DCEU has been a little rocky up till now.

But 2017 for me at least was a step in the right direction.

Wonder Woman was pretty great, and I know I'm in the minority here, but I had a fun

time with Justice League.

Yes it's structurally pretty bad, but how silly and cartoonish it was was enjoyable

for me, and I enjoyed most of the characters.

One of those being Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

He didn't blow me away or anything, but he did enough to have me interested to see

more of this version of the character.

And the best place to see this is probably a James Wan film.

To be honest this is lowest on my list just cuz the DCEU has burned us quite a few times,

but this is one of the upcoming films I'm most excited for, mainly based on the creative

talent involved.

Apparently it's gonna have some horror elements to it, I don't know, I'm intrigued to

see which unique directions this goes in.

Number 9 is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

This has kind of died down over the past few years, mainly cuz of the main series end and

new stuff has rolled around but Harry Potter used to be my favorite film series of all

time.

I grew up with them, I've seen each of them at least 3 times, some over 10, and I just

love these characters.

Then the first Fantastic Beasts came out, aaaaaand it was pretty ok.

Fun but not super memorable for me.

But with this sequel, we're getting tied back into the original series more with young

Dumbledore and his legendary battle against Grindelwald, and yeah, I'm pretty excited

tos ee that.

The casting of young Dumbledore is pretty spot on, and while I'm not super on board

with Johnny Depp these days, putting aside the personal stuff, just in terms of acting,

he was pretty solid in Murder on the Orient Express, so hey, we'll see.

Plus the characters I liked from the first film are coming back, and all in all this

seems like a big step towards more exciting stuff for this fascinating magical world.

Coming in at number 8 is Deadpool 2.

I had a great time with the first Deadpool movie.

The one thing I didn't love was in the middle-ish with the more origin stuff.

It was good, but not as exciting or hilarious as the rest of the film.

But now with the sequel, all that stuff is out of the way.

So now we can really just focus on the insanity and ufn part of this.

There are new and interesting characters in this, they're adding time travel and all kinds

of crazy new aspects to this, and yeah, I'm hoping this is everything Deadpool was and

more.

Hopefully this doesn't go the route of say a Kingsman 2, which I thought was ok but vastly

disappointing compared to the first.

But if this film is as gooda s the marketing's been so far, then count me in.

Now for my number 7 I've got The Predator.

Now it's weird that this is on my list, cuz I've actually never seen a Predator

film.

I will before this comes out, but as of right now, nope.

But the director is what has me excited about this.

A Shane Black film will always be on my most anticipated movies list of that year no matter

what, and this is no exception.

If you haven't seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys, fix that.

Now.

They are hysterical.

And even Iron Man 3, which a lot of people don't like for some reason, I love.

So while I'd love to see another Nice Guys movie or just another crime-buddy comedy,

I'm happy to see him branching out.

Plus the cast looks great, Keegan Michael Key always improves the stuff he's in.

And once I've seen the other films in the franchise I'm sure I'll be even more excited.

At number 6 is one that might seem out of place, but I'm going with First Man.

Now in case you don't know, this is the next film from Damien Chazelle, who made La

La Land and Whiplash, two of my favorite films of all time.

So much like with Shane Black, of course I'm dying to see what he'll do next.

This does seem like a different direction for him, that being a movie that….I assume

doesn't involve a ton of jazz.

But so far he's proved himself to be excellent at lots of different types of filmmaking,

so I'm pumped.

Plus a cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Kyle Chandler, and Jon Bernthal?

In a movie about a pretty interesting and exciting topic, that being the moon landing?

Count me in.

Now at number 5 I've got Mission Impossible 6.

Weirdly enough, the Mission Impossible franchise is one of my favorite film series.

I mean, I think two are pretty good, two are fantastic, and one is so bad that it's hilarious

and a joy to watch.

*clip* Plus I just love spy stuff in general.

I don't know, I always have.

So of course I'm down to see another entry.

The director from Rogue Nation is coming back and I'm hoping for more gadgets, more heists,

and more Tom Cruise doing stupidly dangerous things just for a movie.

We've also got a mustachioed Cavill as the villain which is exciting, and overall I'm

hoping this brings a little something new to t the table while also retaining what makes

this series so much fun.

At the number 4 spot is Black Panther.

I've been talking about how amazing I think this film will be for years now, and now it's

finally upon us.

I mean I've talked this movie to death.

Director, cast, trailers, characters, world, pretty much everything looks like it's gonna

be amazing here.

I can't wait to see more of this character and this new orner of the MCU, and I can't

wait to see what Ryan Coogler does here.

My only concern is it might turn into a sort of generic MCU kinda thing in the third act,

but with this talent on board I imagine there'll be something more to it.

Can't wait, and we only have to wait about two more months for it.

Now we get down to the top 3, and this is where things get really close.

Usually on these lists there's one towards the top that surprises a lot of people, and

this year that's probably gonna be my number 3, Creed 2.

The only reason this is so high up here is just that Creed is one of my favorite movies

ever.

Yes everyone always gets annoyed with me for loving Creed so much when I've only seen

one other Rocky film, but I'm sorry, I just love that film.

I love the characters and love the main character's arc, I love how well made it all is, especially

the amazing boxing scenes, and it is easily the most inspirational movie for me at least

ever.

I can watch a training montage or the final match from that movie and instantly get hyped

up.

So….yeah, I really wanna see more of this story.

I'm not really familiar with the director, and I haven't seen the movie with Ivan Drago

yet so I don't really know what's up with that (I'll watch it before this comes out,

don't worry), but I don't care, I just wanna see what Adonis and Rocky and Tessa

Thompson do next!

Fingers crossed that this lives up to the first.

Now, number 1 and number 2 I spent a long time flipping around, cuz they really could

go either way.

But in the end, I'm gonna say my number 2 is Avengers: Infinity War.

I know, it's crazy that this isn't my number 1.

But if it weren't for this one other huge movie, trust me, it would be.

Again, I feel like I've talked about this movie non-stop for about a month now since

that trailer came out, and I mean, I doubt I'm gonna say anything about this that you

haven't already heard.

All I can really say is, normal everyday people are excited to see this just cuz most people

really enjoy these movies, and people like myself who are big fans of this stuff and

are invested in this world and have spent a long time putting together a timeline for

an upcoming video (yes, I do have a social life), this is kind of insanely cool to see.

Everything coming together in an epic way.

Based on everything we've gotten so far, this looks to live up to the enormous excitement,

and I couldn't be happier.

So before I reveal my number 1 which you've probably guessed by now, here are some other

movies that I'm excited for.

Some honorable mentions, if you will.

And yes I know there are a lot of these, but like I said, this year is jam packed with

awesome-seeming movies.

Isle of Dogs.

Wes Anderson makes great films, this looks super fun and creative.

Robin Hood Origins.

It's got Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx as the leads, that sounds fun at least.

Ready Player One.

The director and premise for this are pretty amazing.

New Mutants.

Not a huge horror guy, but I'm interested to see the different directions the X-Men

universe goes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story.

This would've been like my number 4 if Lord and Miller were still on, cuz they're two

of my favorite directors working today.

But since they left, my interest in this has steadily fallen.

Add on to that tons of set problems and I'm hoping this turns out great, but I'm having

some doubts.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

First one was fun, but the trailer for this one didn't really impress me.

Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Hoping this will have the comedy of the first but be a little less generic Marvel film in

terms of plot.

Venom.

Good cast and director, mostly just the studio and how they handle certain things that concerns

me.

X-Men Dark Phoenix.

I'm in the minority of really liking Apocalypse, so yeah I wanna see what's next.

Plus I love this cast and the idea of these characters going to space and going on crazy

adventures honestly has me really excited.

Wreck It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet.

I'm like the only person on the planet apparently who didn't love the first one, I thought

it was fun.

But the premise of this one has me really intrigued.

And God Particle, the new Cloverfield film.

The only reason this is on here is I loved 10 Cloverfield Lane and I really love the

idea of this series of films that are in different genres and are very loosely connected.

And so, you probably figured it out, but my most anticipated film of 2018 is The Incredibles

2.

The only thing that could possibly beat Infinity War for me is something that I have even more

nostalgia for than the MCU.

If you're sick of me gushing about this, don't worry, this'll be the last time

for a little bit alright.

But the Incredibles is in my top 3 movies of all time, and it might even be my favorite...maybe.

I don't wanna stick to something like that.

But it's up there.

I love everything about it, there are the characters and the relatable family aspects

to it, mixed with a great story, fantastic action, and some of my favorite movie music

ever.

So similarly to Creed 2, I can't wait to see more of these characters.

But the difference between these two is, I've been waiting since 2015 for Creed 2, while

I've been waiting since I was a little kid for Incredibles 2.

And now over a decade later, after watching the first film dozens and dozens of times

over the years, finally going back to this world, yeah, it's pretty exciting.

I have no idea what the story's gonna be in this, and frankly I'm happy about that.

I wanna go into this knowing as little as possible.

Will I be really disappointed?

Maybe.

But if there's a chance this will be as fantastic as I hope it'll be, then I'm

a million percent on board.

And that's why the Incredibles 2 is my most anticipated movie of 2018.

So those were the movies I'm most looking forward to next year.

You Can Get An Uncensored Console Release Of Unepic (Limited Stock) | CG News - Duration: 4:19.

Originally released in 2011 for PC, Unepic is an indie action RPG full of 100s of different

rooms, over 100 weapons, more than 70 spells and dozens of quests.

The title is very non-linear in nature and was inspired by 80s classics such as Castlvania

and Maze Of Galious.

There are also multiple difficulty settings and endings and 1000s of lines of fully voiced

dialogue, with the leading role being voiced by Kyle McCarley, voice of 9S in Nier: Automata.

The PC release has received extremely positive reviews on its Steam store page, with it currently

being ranked "very positive" with over 3000 reviews.

However, there are a few differences between the PC release and the console ports that

followed it.

PC releases do not have to be rated and so it was released on Steam in its original form,

without having to worry about things like the ESRB.

When it came to consoles though, it was decided by the developer to tone down certain content

to get the age rating to a Teen rating, most likely to help increase sales.

The website OnlySP speaks about the content that was altered in their review, where they

state: "The main change is [the main character] no

longer saying "fuck" at various points in the game and wearing boxer shorts when

you remove all his clothing, rather than being completely nude."

And also: "A questline involving a particularly randy

orc has also been rewritten to remove its overtly sexual overtones."

You can see a small clip from the mentioned quest here.

The idea

behind the quest is that you defeat a rival male and steal an item from him, which designates

you as the "alpha male" and allows you to impregnate 3 females.

There's a lot more dialogue than that and, during the aforementioned impregnation scene,

the main character will strip naked, pull the curtains shut and then there will be a

lot of noise and bouncy animations.

In the console versions though, the entire quest was changed to simply freeing 3 females

who have been "captured".

All sexual themes having been completely removed.

This means that when you now walk up to the women, the main character instead just pulls

off a little dance and, of course, keeps his clothes on.

However, just announced earlier today is that is now possible to grab Unepic uncensored

on PlayStation 4 and Vita too, but only for a very limited time.

Publishers eastasiasoft, in partnership with Asian retailer Play-Asia, earlier today opened

pre-orders for a limited run physical release of the game, that's scheduled to ship in January.

Due to its special limited run status, the developers were able to make this version

completely uncensored and is also the only way to pick up a physical copy of the game.

All other releases of the game are digital-only.

Its limited run though, means that there are only a very limited amount of copies made,

and once they are gone, they are gone for good.

Pre-orders only just opened up earlier today, for example, and the special editions have

already sold out, so if this extremely rare, uncensored release is something that you may

be interested in, make sure to check out the link in the description and get it while you

can.

What do you think about limited run physical releases?

Is uncensored limited run versions something you'd like to see more of in future?

Let us know in the comments below and, until next time, thank you for watching.

Mild winter solstice but dusty _ 171222 - Duration: 2:02.

Good morning, today is the winter solstice, which means the shortest day and longest night,...

but temperature-wise we'll be able to enjoy relatively mild weather across much of the

country.

So let's go right to today's temperatures...Seoul had a low of minus 2 degrees Celsius, while

central and southern provinces, including Daejeon and Daegu are waking up to colder

morning lows at minus 4 and minus 5 degrees respectively.

Mostly sunny skies will be featured but fine dust levels will remain high throughout the

day with mild highs of 8 degrees Celsius in Seoul.

Daegu and Gwangju will get up to 10 degrees Celsius this afternoon.

Hopefully temperatures will be mild enough to melt all the lingering snow.

Expect to have milder than average temperatures until Christmas Eve with rain expected tomorrow

night through Sunday,... then freezing temperatures are set to return on Christmas Day,... but

it will be sunny.

That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.

New Portal Game, TONS of FREE Games and Tech -- Weekly Download #75 - Duration: 6:27.

Hey Welcome to Zach's Tech Turf and Weekly Download episode number 75, which is my tech

and PC gaming news series.

Today I'm gonna be playing some Dead Cells, which I've never shown on the channel before,

while I give you this news and I got myself a cup of joe for today's episode.

Make sure you guys let me know in the comment section what you're sippin' on, let's

get into it.

We're gonna start with the tech news like always, but just know there are a ton of free

games and game deals we gotta cover later on in the video, so make sure you stay for

that.

To start off the tech news with some free tech, yea you'll see that free seems to

be the theme for this week's episode, Newegg is offering up this CPU cooler for free, provided

you complete the mail in rebate.

This Rosewill AMD air cooler will initially cost you 16 bucks but there's all a $16

rebate so it'll eventually be free.

Not only just the air cooler however, as of writing this video there's also a 15 foot

HDMI cable and a 3 foot display port cable that are free after rebates as well.

If you don't mind doing rebates, eh, you might as well snag these up.

Next up Fractal Design just released their newest case in their premium PC case line,

the Define R6.

The Define R6 is is aimed at keeping your PC as quiet as it can be and there's currently

a $130 version without tempered glass and a $150 version with the glass.

Most of the case is modular and it looks about as premium as it gets as you should expect

from Fractal.

Jayztwocents just released a video this week about it and titled the video quote Possibly

the Best Mid Tower Case of 2017.

AOC announced some new monitors that are coming in the next couple months, and although new

monitors are constantly be released, these are worth talking about.

There's 3 different models here, but they all include FreeSync, that red and black color

design, fully adjustable stands, and they're all pretty much bezel less.

As you've seen from my personal setup, whenever you have multiple monitors the bezels do look

kinda dumb, and these monitors would be perfect for multi monitor gaming setups.

THey are also all TN, which is superior for competitive gamers, and TN panels have come

a long way in terms of color reproduction so yea, check these out in the link in the

description if you're interested, I link everything I talk about down there every week.

Next up there's a humble software bundle that everyone is talking about this week,

and that's because Vegas Pro 14 is in the $20 bundle.

Vega Pro is a high end video editing software suite and this thing usually goes for $200.

Right now it's actually on sale on Amazon down to 150, but you can snag this in a humble

bundle for just 20 bucks.

If you're thinking about getting into content creation but don't wanna shovel out the

few hundred for Final Cut Pro or the monthly subscription to Adobe Premiere Pro, then this

might be your best bet.

Before jumping into the PC gaming news this week, I wanna quickly let you guys know about

NordVPN.

NordVPN is one of the highest rated VPNs or Virtual Private networks, that allow you to

browse the internet privately, securely, and with no history logs whatsoever.

It's super easy to use, all you do is select which server from around the world you wanna

connect to, and you're done.

Enjoy clutch features like double VPN protection for extra security, an internet kill switch

for the very rare time the VPN disconnects, super fast peer-to-peer downloads, and unlimited

bandwidth for just above 3 bucks a month if you sign up for 2 years.

I actually signed up for a year of NordVPN at full retail price way before they hooked

me up with a referral link and a discount code for you guys, so I obviously recommend

them as my go to VPN service.

Head on over to nordvpn.com/zach or click the first link in the description to learn

more.

Alright so to start off the PC gaming news this week, we gotta talk about the abundance

amount of game deals and free games going on this week.

To start, Ubisoft is hooking us up again with some free games, just like they did last week.

They are giving away Assasin's Creed Black Flag, World in Conflict, and also Watch Dogs!

All you have to do is open up your UPlay app and redeem them to your account, and I would

highly recommend doing that because both Black Flag and Watch Dogs are some pretty solid

titles, especially for free 99.

Moving over to Twitch Prime, if you have an active Twitch Prime account, everyone that

has Amazon Prime has this by the way, then you can also redeem Super Hot for free.

Super Hot is a very unique FPS game where time is frozen except when you're making

moves.

Here you have to shoot bad guys and avoid their bullets and I've actually been dying

to check this one out because it rated pretty high when it released.

You do have to redeem the game through the Twitch Desktop app which is a bummer, but

hey, it's still free.

And moving right along to GOG.com where you can redeem Oxenfree for free.

Oxenfree for free, Oxenfree for free.

Anyway, Oxenfree is a unique story driven mystery type game that I personally haven't

tried out for myself, but this one also rated pretty high a couple of years ago.

All you have to do is either go to GOG.com or open up your GOG Galaxy software and redeem

the title.

And to top it all off, over on Humble Bundle they are currently doing a huge Indie Mega

weeks sale where a ton of great indie games are at some baller prices.

Just to name a few, Stardew Valley is 34% down to $10, Hollow Knight is 34% off down

to $10, Ark Survival Evolved is 40% off down to $36 and The Witness is 50% off down to

20 bucks.

Pretty solid deals if you ask me, although keep in mind that the Steam Winter sale is

coming soon and I don't know if those deals will be better or worse than these.

And to wrap up the tech news this week, there's a new game that was released that I'm sure

some of you will be interested in, and that's Bridge Constructor Portal.

A new Portal game, whaaat?

Well not really, it's a mashup between a Bridge Constructor and the Portal series and

it actually does use the official license of portal so it's completely legit.

It looks like you're basically just designing bridges but in the portal theme, so kinda

like creating your own Portal puzzles.

Don't judge me here, but I've actually never played a Portal game even though they're

like some of the highest rated PC games of all time, but to me it seems like if you've

been itching for some more Portal action this should help you out a bit.

Let me know if you pick this one up.

Well that wraps up Weekly Download episode number 75.

Make sure you guys let me know in the comment section what your favorite tech or PC gaming

news was this week, or if I missed anything.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed this video, please drop a like down below to help support my

channel, and as always, thank you for watching and please subscribe for more Zach's Tech

Turf videos.

1st (Last?) Winter Harvest - Duration: 7:38.

Hi I'm Erin.

Today we take a look at the first harvest of winter crops in the high tunnel and a change

in the forecast brings bitter cold weather that threatens the survival of our hard work

on Our Wyoming Life

December's farmers market date is here and it's time for the first harvest of the winter

crops in the high tunnel.

We were lucky enough to have a pretty mild fall and for the November market we were able

to still harvest from the outside garden.

Now the crops in the high tunnel have had enough time to grow, despite the shorter days

and colder temps.

Radishes and spinach are ready to go.

These crops are our shortest day to maturity.

Carrots and scallions won't be ready until longer days and warmer temps return.

So far the commitment we've made to bring our local customers fresh produce 12 months

of the year is going well.

In all actuality it's going better than expected.

The temps have been very mild and we've had an abundance of sunshine.

We average 209 days of sunshine here.

It's actually a little higher than the national average.

We can have bitter cold weather and the sun will still shine.

That is actually what is going to keep our crops alive with no heat in the high tunnel.

Sunshine warms the tunnel and the ground absorbs the heat and releases it overnight and during

the cold cloudy days.

The soil never freezes and hopefully our crops never freeze hard enough to kill them.

We've been told that we can't do this.

Crops can't grow in Wyoming in the winter with no heat and the days are too short.

Every month that we take out a harvest we're proving people wrong and hopefully changing

people's ideas of local agriculture.

If we're wrong and this doesn't work we will do it differently until we get it right.

In our eyes seeds are cheap compared to the knowledge we are gaining and the boundaries

we are pushing.

Now it's time to harvest.

We have two 30 inch beds that we will be picking from today.

The radishes are the first to be picked.

Some are small but for the most part they are ready for market.

It's not worth the time to sort through them so everything gets picked.

They all get thrown in a tub that will get taken back to the shop when we're done.

Not all the radishes will be picked in this row.

Winter growing is all about staggering your harvest.

The crops aren't going to grow much right now.

We're at the shortest part of the year.

Right now we have less than 9 hours of sunlight.

If it was summertime we could pull everything, replant and within 30 days or less have a

crop.

We leave plenty of radishes for the January and February markets.

Spinach is next to be harvested.

It's a little bit smaller than we would like.

Another week of growing would have been ideal but that's not possible.

The smaller size just means that it takes a little bit longer to harvest.

It's all harvested by hand.

A sharp knife is used to cut the leaves close the ground and the leaves are placed in bin.

The harvest of the spinach is handled the same way as the radishes.

Take what we need for now and leave the rest for another day.

We will potentially get another cutting of spinach but the regrowth will take quite some

time.

Back in the shop the sink is clean and ready to wash our crops.

The bubbler will be used to agitate the spinach leaves and it's placed in the sink first.

The sink is filled with water and then the spinach is dumped in.

While it soaks the radishes can be washed.

Radishes are placed in some water and agitated around.

Then the sorting out of the smaller radishes begins.

Too small or anything that is undesirable for market gets tossed in a bin that will

later get fed to the pigs.

The keepers go into an empty sink where they will get one more washing before being placed

on a table to dry.

Once radishes are done and the sinks are clean again we get back to the spinach.

The bubbler gets turned on.

The spinach is actually pretty clean.

There's not much dirt at all on it.

Mostly due to the fact that it's in the high tunnel.

There's no wind.

Watering only happens about every 3 weeks so the dirt isn't constantly being disturbed

onto the leaves.

But the problem we have is weeds.

You'd think that since it's not summer we would have time to weed the beds but that

hasn't been the case so far this fall.

Some weeding has happened but more work needs to be done.

So in the meantime we sort through the leaves looking for anything that doesn't belong.

Weeds get picked out and the spinach goes into one more sink full of water for a final

rinse before being placed in the salad spinner for drying.

It is also dumped on the table while we work on the rest of the spinach.

Once we're ready to bag the certified scale allows us to have all the bags the same size

and then it's off the fridge for storage until market.

Radishes actually don't get packed until market day.

We changed our packaging plans at the last minute and on washing day we didn't have

the necessary supplies.

So at market once we get everything else set up the radishes get placed into baggies and

are also weighed.

Our first winter high tunnel harvest was a success.

People at market were amazed that we had crops and the fresh veggies were greatly appreciated.

So far the weather has been on our side and at the time of harvest it was a sunny, mild

day here in Northeast Wyoming.

A week later and the weather is not on our side.

Winter is descending upon us and single digit temps are coming.

We knew this would happen and hopefully we're prepared and the crops survive.

More row cover will be added and the forecast is cold but there is some hope for sunshine.

Even an hour of sunshine can warm the ground enough to get us through one more day.

I am loving the fact that we're gardening in the winter.

Although the high tunnel has been somewhat neglected.

Weeds need pulled and somehow the days seem to come and go and I don't have enough time

to get out there as much as needed.

But when I do get time and I get to have my hands in the soil and the sun is warm in the

high tunnel I'm happy.

The gardens bring me joy and that has always been missing during the winter time.

What I don't love about winter gardening is washing the vegetables.

The well water is freaking cold.

And by time I was all done I swear I was frozen.

Water and cold are not my happy place.

Maybe I need better gloves before the next market!

Like us on Facebook or Instagram for more updates on the high tunnel.

Find out if we survive the next week of single digit temperature or if our winter gardening

days are over after only one month of harvest.

Mike has new videos for you on Sundays and Tuesdays and next Thursday will be a live

stream with both of us.

Thanks for joining us from the gardens of Our Wyoming Life.

Low-ranking N. Korean soldier defects to S. Korea via DMZ, several gunshots heard at border - Duration: 2:19.

Another daring escape from North of the border,...

A North Korean soldier defected to the South through the demilitarized zone on Thursday,...

prompting troops on both sides of the DMZ to fire shots.

It's the second such defection in six weeks.

It's led many to ask whether these defections point to growing instability within the ranks

of the North Korean military.

Oh Jung-hee has this report.

A low-ranking North Korean soldier defected to South Korea through the Demilitarized Zone

on Thursday.

According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff,... the soldier appeared in front of

a guard post on the mid-western front at just past eight a.m.... and South Korean guards

and surveillance equipment identified him.

He was safely secured... and now related institutions will be investigating why and how the soldier

crossed over.

He's known to have brought his own AK-47 rifle.

The defection led to an exchange of gunfire at the border.

At 9:24 a.m., the South Korean military turned on warning broadcasts and fired 20 rounds

of a K-3 machine gun... as they found several North Korean soldiers approaching the Military

Demarcation Line... searching for the defector.

No more soldiers approached the border after that,... but the military heard gunshots coming

from the North at 10:13 and 10:16... but no bullets crossed into the South Korean side.

(Stand-up) "A total of four North Korean soldiers have

defected to the South so far this year... and Thursday's case comes just over a month

after a North Korean soldier crossed through the Joint Security Area."

Experts say...

North Korean soldiers have defected through the Demilitarized Zone plenty of times decades

ago,... but not many recently.

There was one case last year and four this year, but they say that increase doesn't mean

the regime is unstable.

(Korean) 1:10-1:28 "I think this is what just happens intermittently

with soldiers who've caused problems within their units... or who've been affected by

South Korea's anti-Pyongyang broadcasts at the border."

The South Korean government says it will look carefully at whether there's a special reason

behind the rising number of soldiers' defections.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

8 Signs Of Spiritual Awakening That May Be Happening To You Righ - Duration: 6:02.

8 Signs Of Spiritual Awakening That May Be Happening To You Right Now

Everybody wakes up at a different stage in life, and this is perfectly natural and

absolutely wonderful.

There are those who have already started searching for the deeper, inner truth, while others

are still hitting the snooze button and there are those of you who may be on the path

of awakening as you are reading this.

We all come with a single purpose and we live by following the invisible path to it.

Spiritual awakening means the discovery of the insights that bring us closer to the Truth

about who we are and what our purpose is in this chaotic world.

Have you woken up yet?

Read on to find out what it means to become spiritually awakened and how it affects your

life.

1.

All the knowledge youve gathered stars falling into place

We have all gone through a long learning process that has spanned not only through our current

lifetime but through many lifetimes before.

And while the past-life knowledge is more subtle and comes in the form of innate wisdom,

our current-life knowledge is the one that needs to be understood on a deeper level.

In the process of spiritual awakening, you start realizing where that knowledge fits

and how it connects to the rest of the information you have accumulated and it all connects

with the increased sense of oneness and wisdom youve been bearing with you since birth.

2.

New ways of thinking, feeling, living With the sudden lifting of the veil of illusion,

you will see what you have been doing and how the person you have become affects your

life and those around you.

A sudden change in your moral perspectives, your conscience, and your ideals will bring

about a different way of functioning that will suddenly seem all too familiar and natural

to you.

Tackling challenges will become an enjoyment you wont like to miss out on, and coping

with emotions and with challenging thoughts will receive a completely new dimension.

3.

A reinvented relationship with oneself In most of our sleep time through this

life, we have often forgotten who we really were and how much we should assign meaning

to our existence.

However, this sightless grasping for temporary pleasures and living the days like they dont

really matter is coming to an end.

Your awakening brings you to a completely new level of understanding of oneself, and

you will start noticing the things that make you who you really are.

Self-love will receive a completely new meaning, and your vanity will start making no sense

at all.

4.

Increased awareness of everything around you In this path, you start understanding how

important everyone and everything is to the web of life that you are also part of, and

you will start feeling greater compassion and understanding for those around you.

If you werent able to see the good in others, now is the time where that good will start

revealing itself and tell you that it is here to grow, if you let it.

5.

A greater sense of oneness and interconnectedness Sensing the web of existence will give you

the feeling of oneness as a gift you will gladly accept.

Everything is connected, and everyone is part of that connection and that series of events

that unfold for the greater learning of humanity and the evolution of existence to a higher

dimension.

This knowledge will only reinforce your sense of Self and how you interact with others will

utterly change from the root.

You will, however, receive a new Ego that you will need to learn to cope with and become

one with.

6.

Fear of death is a thing of the past Of course, this doesnt mean that you should

be negligent, and you will know it.

But this loss of fear will come as a result of understanding that death is just a temporary

and illusory idea that has nothing to do with your existence.

The fear of death is the fear of the unknown it brings, and your awakened state will allow

you to understand what it really means and that when it comes, it was destined to come

with an exact purpose and meaning.

7.

Greater connection with nature If you havent felt connected before, your

awakened state will allow you to become more connected to nature and everything living.

Your nurturing nature will rise to the surface and allow you to truly experience the unconditional

love and the life force that Nature radiates with.

Use this connection to give as much as you receive from nature.

In the end, we are all part of the same Web of life.

8.

Sudden increase in the need for alone-time People are afraid that being alone means being

lonely.

However, being awakened, you will understand that you can never be alone, even when theres

nobody around you.

And you will need that alone time to process the flow of information you will start receiving.

In your alone time, your energy will start reconfiguring itself and adjusting to the

new frequency you are rising to.

Enjoy the growth.

So, allow yourself to truly experience this wonderful sense of awakening and, please,

Finding a good beginner mountain bike - Duration: 9:02.

What's a good beginner mountain bike?

This is a question I get every day, so today I'm going to give you the tools you need

to find one, new or used, regardless of brand.

But first we need to define what a beginner bike is.

If you're a beginner and you have unlimited money then this discussion is over.

Just go out and spend a bunch of money on a nice bike and you're done.

But I suspect that most beginners are looking for the smallest financial commitment they

can make, while still getting a decent mountain bike.

This bike is decent enough to get you into big trouble, again and again.

Better yet, it's on clearance for $329.

Yes, it's a diamondback Overdrive and I ride for diamondback, but I want you to forget

about that today because Diamondback may not be available where you live, or you might

be looking at a used bike.

So today I want you to pretend this bike is colorless with no logos on it.

How do we objectively determine that it's trailworthy just by examining it?

Let's start with the most important indicator of a good mountain bike: the derailleur hanger.

If a mountain bike is equipped with a rear derailleur, it should be hung from the frame

by this little piece of metal, the hanger.

During a crash, the hanger is designed to break away to prevent damage to the frame.

It can then be realigned or replaced inexpensively.

That's a lot better than throwing the whole bike in the garbage which is what you'll

need to do if you break part of your frame.

So when examining a bike, be wary of band-aid solutions like this, or worse yet a derailleur

mounted directly to the frame.

Bikes like these could be one crash away from total destruction, and mountain biking is

all about crashing.

So a derailleur hanger is the very first thing you should look for to determine if a bike

is trailworthy.

Even the most entry level bikes will have a precision cut, purposeful looking derailleur

hanger right here.

So your examination should start, and possibly end with that.

The next important part to look for is a threadless stem, which you can identify by these pinch

bolts here, and these 4 bolts holding the handlebars on.

If instead you see this, it's usually bad news.

To service or replace anything up front including the fork, you'll be limited to unreliable

parts or vintage mountain bike parts which are hard to find.

Good luck tracking down a brand new mid 90's suspension fork to replace your old one.

A threadless stem is not only easier and less costly to service, but it's also more rigid.

This is not something you want to compromise on.

Moving on to the wheels, you need to make sure they have quick release levers.

These are common on entry level bikes, and they make it so you can remove or replace

the wheels by hand without any tools.

More importantly, they're an indicator of the bike's intended use.

When mountain biking flat tires are inevitable, so always carrying a 15mm wrench to remove

these nuts is problematic.

Worse yet, mountain bikes with nuts on the axles are nearly impossible to upgrade the

wheels on, and wheels are one of the things you'll outgrow as you gain experience.

So on an entry level mountain bike you should look for quick release levers and if you see

nuts, stay away.

Next up is the crank and chainring assembly.

It should be modular and bolted together, not riveted together as one big piece.

I'm sure you can see the problem with that.

Break anything here, and you're probably out the cost of your entire bike.

Sure you could drill out the rivets and fabricate something, so if that's your thing then

good on you.

Otherwise, look for something you can actually wrench on.

The next thing you should look for are disc brakes on the front and rear.

Even cheap disc brakes are replaceable with better ones, which is important to note because

your bike needs to have the mountings points for them from the start.

More importantly disc brakes are dramatically more reliable than rim brakes, which is why

the mountain bike industry switched to them quickly and decisively decades ago.

Because a good mountain bike should be low maintenance and upgradeable, you should be

very suspicious of one that does not include disc brakes.

Finally, you need to ensure that the bike is available in different sizes, and that

the manufacturer actually offers some guidance as to what size you need.

This is as easy as using Google, a lost art.

Anyway if the manufacturer isn't offering this information they probably don't put

much thought into their bikes, and therefore you shouldn't trust it to take you deep

into the woods.

I realize this indicator is less objective than the others, but at the very least, you

should get a bike that fits you.

Although there are many other indicators of a trailworthy bike, they're largely irrelevant

if the bike in question doesn't satisfy the requirements we just discussed.

So we'll focus our attention now on what you can expect from an entry level bike like

this, and some of the things you can do to upgrade it.

First of all it's important to note that almost all entry level mountain bikes will

be hardtails, or bikes without rear suspension.

The linkage required for rear suspension is costly and heavy, so it's generally not

worth investing in until you start to breach the thousand dollar point.

For the sake of simplicity we'll limit this discussion to hardtails.

Hardtails are fun and fast, so they're great to start out on anyway.

But sub $500 hardtails are almost always XC, or cross country bikes.

XC bikes are optimized for pedaling and laying down power.

They're fast, and easy to go long distances on.

But those advantages can hold you back when you start to dabble in freeride.

This is not to say that you can't do a little jumping on an XC bike.

It's just that jumps, drops, rock rolls, or any kind of prolonged descent is best done

on a trail bike.

This black hardtail next to Overdrive is a good example of a trail bike.

The raked out fork, aggressive angles, wide bars, longer travel, and shorter stem, make

it better for the kind of riding I do.

Since you can't convert an XC bike to a trail bike or the other way around, you need

to be honest about what you intend on doing on your mountain bike before you buy one.

But if your budget is below $500, you're getting an XC bike whether you like it or

not.

So if you eventually take to jumping and throwing the bike around a bit more, you could feel

limited.

So here's what I did to enhance the capabilities of my budget XC bike.

The biggest thing you can do, hands down, is change the tires.

When I threw these wider, knobbier tires on my Overdrive, it felt like a completely different

bike.

I was able to run these tires at a lower pressure, making them grippier and more forgiving.

But that's not all I did.

You hear all that rattling?

That's my chain slapping everywhere, and in fact it came off entirely on several drops

and jumps.

To remedy this I installed a chain guide, which virtually eliminated the problem.

This will cost you a lot less than upgrading your drivetrain, which could easily run you

as much as this bike.

If I were a beginner trying to progress as far as possible on this bike, I might upgrade

the pedals as well, and maybe the fork to something like this.

Venturing beyond that would not necessarily be economical, and considering a decent trailworthy

bike can hold its value well, you'd be better off selling it and upgrading the whole thing.

Finally, if you already have a bike and find that it fails some of these tests you can

still gain from this video.

If it's currently working for you and you're having fun on it, then keep shredding.

If you feel like it's holding you back, you now have the tools to find something a

little better.

Still, we haven't spoken about assembly, maintenance, or all the other upgrades you

can do.

So I'm sure you have questions.

With the help of my viewers, I'll do my best to answer them in the comments.

So find yourself a good beginner bike and enjoy it.

Because you're only a year away from selling all your belongings and financing an irresponsibly

expensive bike.

It happens to the best of us.

Thanks for riding with me today, and I'll see you next time.

128 countries at UN condemn Trump's Jerusalem decision - Duration: 2:06.

Now for a look at stories making headlines around the world.... and we start with the

on-going controversy sparked by U.S. President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as

Israel's capital.

The UN General Assembly has decisively backed a resolution calling for the United States

to withdraw that move.

For more let's turn to our Ro Aram…

Aram… more countries seem to be defying Trump's recognition....

That's right Semin….This was already apparent at Monday's UN Security Council meeting when

all other nations apart from the U.S. backed a resolution calling on Trump to rescind his

declaration on Jerusalem.

That was eventually vetoed by America and therefore didn't get adopted.

That sparked the Palestinians and their Arab and Islamic supporters to seek Thursday's

General Assembly vote.

Results were 128 in favor, nine against and 35 abstentions.

The vote came despite warnings from the U.S. ambassador that Washington was willing to

sever its hefty funding to the world body.

(English) AP - 7002294 / 1 "When we make generous contributions to the

UN, we also have a legitimate expectation that our good will is recognized and respected.

When a nation is singled out for attack in this organization, that nation is disrespected.

What's more, that nation is asked to pay for the "privilege" of being disrespected.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said afterward that he totally rejects what

he called the "preposterous" resolution.

Those who voted in favor included many U.S. aid recipients including Jordan and Egypt,

as well as many American allies.

President Trump's threat of cutting foreign aid had raised the stakes at Thursday's emergency

meeting and triggered accusations from Muslims of U.S. bullying, blackmail and intimidation.

Arab, Islamic and non-aligned nations rejected his warnings and urged a "yes" vote.

The non-binding resolution states that any decisions regarding the status of Jerusalem

are "null and void" and must be cancelled.

Pedal Types - Duration: 5:58.

Hi I'm Mary Jo Monte from the Path Pedaler series and today we're talking pedals whether

your riding bike trails mountain trails or just taking spin around town your pedals are

important there are different types of pedals to make your ride more enjoyable so I'm asking

Bruce Baldwin from Ernie's Bicycle Shop to explain the different types hi Mary Jo hey

Bruce yea there's certainly a lot of different types of pedals most new bike that you buy

going to come with a plastic pedal it's fairly inexpensive and it works for most people eventually

they're going to wear out or break or eventually you might want to move up to a pedal that's

going to be more effective in transferring your power from the body to the bike

okay and there are a number of different ways that can happen back in my era in the 70s

cycling shoes were made to fit into a pedal that had a toe

clip on it and your foot would slip in and it would just be a way of keeping your foot

on the pedal so it wouldn't move around as much and plus it would help you pull up as

you made your circular motion a little bit alright instead of just pushing down right

then there was a development in the 80s where pedals were were made and manufactured

where instead of just having the really stiff cycling shoe and a pedal with a toe clip you

would mount a cleat on the bottom of the shoe sure and the shh cleat then would become a

piece that would clip into a pedal it would snap it very much like a ski boot binding

and it would hold your foot in position on the pedal and again it was much more efficient

than in terms of the amount of power that it helped you transfer to the stroke as you

went around in your RPM's alright and that's the primary reason that these kind of pedals

were developed to help you be more effective in pedaling and pulling up as well as pushing

down alright and sometimes people will think that well I don't want to buy these cycling

shoes because I can't walk in them and that's true of some cycling shoe like these particular

shoes very stiff but once you have this cleat on the bottom it's really hard to walk in

yeah you do the duck waddle walk those are for professional cyclists and people that

are road riding long distances and aren't going to get off their bike and stretch and

be a tourist if your interested in that type of pedal where you'll have the efficiency

of a clip in pedal as well as having the ability to just wear your sneakers may be your just

riding down to the post office there are pedals that work both ways you have a clip in system

as well as just a flat platform to put your regular shoes on and these are very popular

with all of these different systems though the clip the cleat that clips into the pedal

attaches to the shoe I thought I'd just take a moment to show you how that goes most of

these shoes have recessed portion in the sole and you just take the little cleat and put

it and line up the holes and tighten them up with an allen wrench there's some movement

there so that you can position them in a place where you're going to have the most effective

transfer of power as well as if you have some knee pain you can adjust these to change the

angle that your foot is going to be on the pedal alright many different styles Shimano

SPD that stands for Shimano Pedaling Dynamics make a cleat and with all these once you're

clipped in it's very easy to get out it's not like your locked in you just twist your

heel to the outside and they unsnap and just push it right out of the pedal so you can

get off the bike without falling sure sure there are Speed Play pedals Crank Brother

pedals Shimano road pedals which again are a much broader base but it really is up to

you to find out which one of these is is the one that you would like to try and again for

a lot of people just a plain old platform pedal works just fine and there are a lot

of different types of those to as well there are a number there are plastic there are metal

there for mountain bikers pedals with really sharp studs on them to hold into the the sole

of your foot but the pedal again it's one of those contact points that it can make a

difference in how you feel when ride how much you enjoy it and how effective you are and

how efficient you are on your bicycle Bruce thank you so much for this you're very welcome
