The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly backed a resolution calling for U.S. President

Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital to be withdrawn.

Thursday's vote came despite warnings from the U.S. that it could pull its funding from

the world body.

Widespread defiance of President Trump's declaration on Jerusalem was already apparent at Monday's

UN Security Council meeting when all other nations apart from the U.S. backed a resolution

calling on Trump to rescind his move.

That was eventually vetoed by America and therefore didn't get adopted.

That sparked the Palestinians and their Arab and Islamic supporters to seek Thursday's

General Assembly vote.

Results were 128 in favor, nine against and 35 abstentions.

The vote came despite warnings from the U.S. ambassador that Washington was willing to

sever its hefty funding to the world body.

When a nation is singled out for attack in this organization, that nation is disrespected.

What's more, that nation is asked to pay for the "privilege" of being disrespected.

Haley said the U.S. will put its embassy in Jerusalem regardless of the vote.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said afterward that he totally rejects

what he called the "preposterous" resolution.

But, he took the time to thank nations that chose to abstain.

Those who voted in favor included many U.S. aid recipients including Jordan and Egypt,

as well as many American allies.

President Trump's threat of cutting foreign aid had raised the stakes at Thursday's emergency

meeting and triggered accusations from Muslims of U.S. bullying, blackmail and intimidation.

Arab, Islamic and non-aligned nations rejected his warnings and urged a "yes" vote.

The non-binding resolution states that any decisions regarding the status of Jerusalem

are "null and void" and must be cancelled.

Anyways, I'm here today to get back to doing what I do best… breaking promises.

I've said a myriad of times that 'I'm probably not gonna do WW2', but now, I am,

but not in the way you might expect.

Indy Neidell, best known for, well, you know, the Great War; the series that covers WW1

week by week, has teamed up with his friend, Spartacus to form Time Ghost, which looks

to do the same thing with WW2, but WW2 is of course bigger than WW1, that's why it

has a 2.

So if WW2 is bigger than WW1, then Time Ghost has to be bigger than the Great War, so that

means, right, follow me on this one, bring in more channels.

The boys back at the lab were working on that conclusion for years.

So the Time Ghost team will be doing what you've come to expect from the Great War,

but then myself and others are being brought in to expand the channel, in our own unique

and special ways.

Say for example, I'm currently looking to do the occasional special on the lesser known

parts of WW2; such as Winter War, Iraq's Golden Square, Resistance in French Indochina...they're

all maybes.

So far InRangeTV, Lindybeige, and Real Engineering are on board, and of course discussions with

other channels are underway as well.

Buuuuuuut, there's a catch, of course there is.

With a big project like this requires a budget, it's not financed by a network or anything

like that, so the TimeGhost team are running a Kickstarter and I'm sure you mostly young

adult undergrads have lots and lots of spare moneys to throw at it, that was sarcasm, but,

any pledge would still be pretty nifty.

So check out the Kickstarter and check out TimeGhost as there's a lot more to come

in 2018.

Kim Jong-un regime aims to tighten grip on power through meeting with civilian leaders - Duration: 2:31.

The North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea held a large-scale meeting Thursday of low-level

party party officials... for the first time in five years.

Kim Jong-un presided over it, but sitting close to him this time was his younger sister.

Kim's apparently hoping to bring stability to the regime and tighten his grip on power.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said... it's undeniable that the North is now capable of

posing a substantial threat to the United States with its nuclear weapons.

He claimed that the regime's rapid nuclear arms development is influencing the global

political stage,... and the young leader called on his people for greater unity and optimism.

The remarks came on Thursday... as the North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea... opened its

fifth conference of cell chairpersons.

Cell chairpersons lead the party's lowest-level units called party cells consisting of 5 to

30 members... and they have the closest contact with ordinary citizens.

Kim's showing off the regime's nuclear capabilities and encouraging greater solidarity... among

the party's low-level leaders... has a purpose.

It's to bring stability to a regime that has long faced international pressure and sanctions,...

and is now seeing a rise in defections across its borders.

a large-scale conference, so it's quite a burden on the regime to even hold it.
