We are here in the windmill-village, of which name I can't even pronounce.

Something like Zaanse Schans...

All right, let's get the music going!

In a place like this, it's hard to focus on your playing.

-Are you gonna play something? -Sure.

As soon as I find the right notes.

But it's much nicer that way.

But you should look that way, standing just as you are now.

Well, not this cheesy...

There is a f***ing big boat!

Where is that floating? Can you see?

This place is unbeliveable...

Sighs...

It's great to be here.

In Amsterdam we were shooting in the Vondelpark.

How are you today?

Cool.

What are we doing?

Playing the guitar. Ehh, no. Walking.

It doesn't give a shit.

Actually, it does. Literally.

It took a shit.

More passion please.

Let me find the notes first.

Aaarghhh.

Just a sec.

It looks good, please stay facing that way.

You can turn around now.

aaaAAAAaaAAA!?!?!?!

Also, we went to the seashore, but I could barely talk there, because of the crazy wind.

It almost blew me off the dunes.

More passion please.

Let me know if we're rolling.

Life at Fairweather Manor - Peter - Duration: 4:25.

I played a guy called Henry James Fairweather,

who insisted that everyone would call him "Jamsey".

He was the unfortunate heir to the estate because that his older brother

that had all the good quality died during the war. We continued our story that we

started at the first Fairweather larp, which was a love story

and an engagement to his cousin, that was named Juliet.

So at this larp we played out

the wedding and everything connected to the wedding.

"… a bit further down the corridor, to the Black Room,

and there we ought to have an excellent stag party

in the honour of Lord Henry James."

"We will put up a sheet over here, to keep things proper

And we have the master of compliments, Lord Henry James, here."

"Well, let's start from the right. What I see here,

is not just the beauty of the woman form, it's also a promise of a better life."

"Above the belt only. No groin or leg shots allowed. Are we all clear on that point?

I don't think any of us here would like to get struck in the groin, at any point."

"I do have a wedding tomorrow." "Exactly."

…Especially since it was sort of wrapped in the historical

fiction around the 1917 British nobility, which is: family means

everything and the political games made by marriage

sort of affects everything you do.

And even if you're in love, you have to play the part that you're given

because you really, really, really, can't disappoint your family. Family is everything.

I was physically, physically, trembling when my character's wife-to-be walked up

the aisle towards me. I was like, "oh my god!".

I have seriously never been as nervous as I was standing up by the altar in that church.

I'm not married in real life so I've never had the practice. I get people

who are getting married for real, after this. Or at least slightly more.

Because of the expectations of all your relatives, and then everyone just sitting there and staring at you?

I mean, I like the attention but damn, damn, I was nervous!

This was sort of put in contrast because of the war. My character was, or is,

an active officer in the war. And like everyone else he's heavily affected by

by this first Great War, or the War to end all the wars. He was at home

and the contrast between being at home and trying to play out the social elitist life

of a British noble in comparison to the hell that the character has experienced

during the war was sort of the theme of the larp.

How Do Algorithms Predict Criminal Behavior? - Duration: 4:39.

- What's worse than math?

Prison.

Today we're talking about how the criminal justice system

uses math to predict criminal behavior.

(upbeat music)

First off, America has a ton of people in prison.

In 2013, one out of 110 adults were locked up

and a disproportionate amount of those are people of color.

In 2010, black men were six times more likely

to be behind bars than white men.

If you've heard the term mass incarceration,

it's referring to these high prison rates.

And keeping so many people in prison costs a lot of money

and contributes to racial inequalities in America

so there's a big push from both Democrats

and Republicans to find ways to reduce the prison population

while making sure the public stays safe.

And some areas of law enforcement are turning

to computer algorithms to help them do that.

Computer algorithms are all around us.

They're basically formulas used to do stuff,

like predict what movies you like,

and that's exactly what Netflix does.

Netflix uses algorithms to track what you watch.

They match your viewing habits with a database of users

and make predictions on what movies and TV shows

you'll like based on what people who've watched

similar things to you have liked.

One of these is not like the other.

How did Paddington get in there?

But instead of predicting what you wanna watch,

the justice system uses algorithms to predict

if you'll recommit a crime.

These algorithms are called risk assessment tools

and here's how they're used.

Okay, let's say you've been convicted of a crime.

You're serving your time in prison

and now you're up for parole.

You would have what we call a parole hearing

where a group of people, a parole board,

decides if you'll get out, and parole boards are typically

made up of former law enforcement professionals

like police, prosecutors, and prison guards.

At the hearing, they ask you questions to try figure out

if you understand why you committed the crime

and if you have any strategies

to prevent yourself from doing it again.

They also consider things like your behavior in prison

and if you've gone through any prison programs

like AA or anger management and they use all this

information to decide if you're ready to be released.

Basically, they wanna make sure that if you get out,

you're not gonna go and commit another crime.

But parole boards are made up of humans

and we all come with bias.

And a person's own biases might influence

if he or she thinks you'll go on to commit another crime.

And this is where risk assessment tools come in.

Essentially, the tools use data to predict

how likely you are to recommit a crime.

And they make those predictions a lot like Netflix does.

But instead of tracking what you're watching,

they're looking for risk factors and are filled out

a lot like questionnaires.

They often take into account things like your age,

your past criminal record, your education level,

where you live, and if you've ever had

any drug or alcohol problem.

Some of these tools go deep.

Here are some actual questions from one of them.

How much do you agree or disagree with these statements:

a hungry person has the right to steal;

some people don't deserve any respect

and should be treated like animals;

if someone insults my family, friends, or group,

they are asking for trouble.

I don't even know how I'd answer some of these questions.

The algorithm then compares your answers

to a database of past offenders.

Those past offenders have been tracked over time

to see if they went on to commit another crime.

So if a lot of people who share your risk factors

have committed another crime, you'd be considered high risk.

And parole boards can use this info

to help decide if they'll let you out.

For example, they'd be more likely

to release a low risk offender.

And compared to professional opinion alone,

research shows that in a variety of settings,

well validated risk assessment tools do a better job

of predicting behavior than professional opinion alone.

This is encouraging because depending on how they're used,

they could help wind down mass incarceration.

For example, we could keep low risk offenders out of prison

or let them out of jail earlier.

But risk assessment tools aren't without controversy.

Just like how you're not gonna like 100% of your Netflix

recommendations, these tools can't predict

with 100% certainty if you'll commit another crime.

And while race is not explicitly included as a risk factor,

some people fear that tools could contribute to racial

biases already seen in the criminal justice system.

For example, police tend to arrest black men for marijuana

possession at a much higher rate than white men.

Even though the two groups use it the same amount.

So if arrest rates are considered as a risk factor,

it's possible the tools could disproportionately

affect black people.

And for the most part, a lot of these tools

haven't been studied to see if they show racial bias.

At the end of the day, no predictive algorithm is perfect.

They're only as good as the people writing them

and the data sets that they're based on.

And it's not clear yet what impact these tools have

on racial disparities in our criminal justice.

This is why so many people

want greater oversight and more testing.

And now we wanna hear from you.

What questions does this raise for you?

Throw some out there and we'll see if we can answer them.

THE SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES OF ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION - Duration: 9:28.

THE SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES OF ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION

BY ALANNA KETLERMAY

In the past Ive written about some of the consequences of alcohol consumption, and many

of our readers have gotten very upset with what Ive had to say.

I want to address this right off the bat here and say there is absolutely no judgment within

this article, and Im not attempting to tell you what you should or should not be

doing.

I am merely speaking from my own experiences and sharing some insight that I have gained;

Im offering another perspective and potentially something useful for you to consider.

Alcohol consumption is something that is not only widely accepted in our society, but in

many cases and social settings actually implied and expected.

It is promoted heavily in the media, with countless ads depicting glamorous living,

which always includes indulging in the finest liquor, wine, and beer.

It sometimes seems in our society that the only way to have fun is to include alcohol

in the equation.

Just the mere fact that it is so heavily promoted through media and advertising in the first

place is enough to make me skeptical, but there are many other reasons that led me to

this conclusion.

Etymology of the Word Alcohol

To start, lets take a look at where the root of the word alcohol is derived from.

Alcohol comes from the Arabic al-kuhl, which means BODY EATING SPIRIT, (whoa)

and this actually serves as the origin for the English word ghoul. According to

Middle Eastern folklore, a ghoul is an evil demon believed to eat human bodies.

Alembic and alcohol are both metaphors for aqua vitae, or life water, and spirit

refers to a distilled liquid, which came from Middle Eastern alchemy.

According to health writer and enthusiast Jason Christoff:

In alchemy, alcohol is used to extract the soul essence of an entity.

Hence its use in extracting essences for essential oils, and the sterilization of medical

instruments.

By consuming alcohol into the body, it in effect extracts the very essence of the soul,

allowing the body to be more susceptible to neighboring entities most of which are of

low frequencies.

(Why do you think we call certain alcoholic beverages SPIRITS)?

That is why people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol often black out, not remembering

what happened.

This happens when the good soul (we were sent here with) leaves because the living conditions

are too polluted and too traumatic to tolerate.

The good soul jettisons the body, staying connected on a tether, and a dark entity takes

the body for a joy ride around the block, often in a hedonistic and self serving illogical

rampage.

Our bodies are cars for spirits.

If one spirit leaves, another can take the car for a ride.

Essentially when someone goes dark after drinking alcohol or polluting themselves in many other

ways, their body often becomes possessed by another entity.

A Little About Me and Why This Is Important

This really hit home for me.

As someone who used to drink alcohol in excess and not remember a thing that happened afterward,

the idea that the soul actually steps out of the physicality during this time fully

resonates and actually explains a lot of what went on without my knowledge or awareness.

Waking up in the morning and not having a single clue what had happened was the worst

feeling in the world, but was also all-too familiar for me.

The things I had apparently chosen to do and situations I ended up in were absolutely not

things that I, as me, the good soul in my body, would ever choose to do in a million

years.

I was faced with so much confusion and fear and it never really made sense to me.

I always thought to myself, How could I have done this?

When I would drink, after a certain point I would not be able to stop.

I can see now that it was likely at this point that a darker entity would take over my physicality

and use my body as a vehicle to experience a hedonistic lifestyle for the evening, or

however long it was.

Now, to clarify, I know that this does not happen to everyone who drinks.

For me, I think it was something that developed over time, but the instance of me blacking

out, or in this case stepping out when I would drink, began happening at the age

of 16, and continued on for about 10 years of my life.

In some ways I think it was hard to accept responsibility for my actions because I had

literally no memory whatsoever of what had happened.

I would be left with a tremendous amount of guilt and shame, however, that stopped me

from admitting to others and myself that it was in fact a problem in my life.

Those closest to me would notice that I wasnt there while under the influence of alcohol,

and people who werent even aware of this concept would say this to me often.

Since having an incredibly healing journey with ayahuasca in November of last year, I

no longer allow my body to be used as a vehicle for entities to use.

In other words, I no longer consume alcohol at this time in my life.

Now, why I chose to continue drinking despite what was happening while under the influence

is a whole other story, and diving into the reasons behind what actually causes addiction

in the first place is a really eye-opening and important conversation to have, but it

is off-topic for the purpose of this article.

How Does This Relate to the Rest of Society?

You may be thinking, Well, this is just you and clearly you have a problem with alcohol

and shouldnt be drinking, and that is absolutely right, but how much is it actually

affecting those who drink regularly, but not often enough to consider it a problem, or

those who always keep their senses and wits about them?

And how much is too much?

How many people are actually just in denial about having a drinking problem?

Consider putting yourself in a social setting with many new faces you havent met before:

Would you prefer that alcohol was a part of the equation or would you be completely fine

without it?

We often use alcohol as a crutch, to feel more comfortable and confident in who we are.

But at what point are we actually becoming someone else, a person who doesnt even

actually represent who we are in the first place?

Asking Yourself Some Questions Could Be Beneficial

If you drink alcohol, how often are you drinking?

Do you find that you tend to drink as an escape?

Are you able to have fun in social situations without alcohol?

Do you drink alcohol in order to relax or relieve stress at the end of the day?

After asking yourself these questions you may want to reconsider your relationship with

alcohol.

Challenging yourself to a month without any alcohol could be a really beneficial way for

you to see what your life is like without it and to address what comes up in a healthier

way.

If you are feeling stressed, for example, some breathing exercises may help, or reassessing

your schedule to fix what isnt working.

Without the escape that alcohol gives us, we are then confronted with the issues in

our lives and forced to actually fix them.

Again, this is mostly for anyone who may feel they drink alcohol too regularly, or would

like to change their relationship with it in some way.

There is no judgment toward those who do drink, but in many cases it can be holding us back.

If this resonates with you, or if you have done this in the past and noticed an improvement

in your life, please share with us in the comments how this has affected you.

Often if we decide to even take a break from alcohol consumption we can feel ostracized

from society, or left out, but it is a great way to really get in touch with who you really

are, and fully embrace your insecurities head on.

I have ended up making friends that are more in alignment with my path at this time, and

people who I feel closer to as a result of this.

My whole life changed after giving up alcohol, but thats just me, and that was just my

journey.

But if anything I said resonates with you, maybe it would be beneficial for you to try

as well.

Trump Calls For Senate 'Nuclear Option' To Avoid Shutdown, Claims Dems Would Do It - Duration: 1:40.

Trump Calls For Senate 'Nuclear Option' To Avoid Shutdown, Claims "Dems Would Do It"

by Tyler Durden

In the latest in a series of breathless tweets, President Trump tweeted on Tuesday calling

for the Senate to end the filibuster and allow legislation to pass with a simple majority,

saying it would allow his agenda to pass fast and easy.

The U.S. Senate should switch to 51 votes, immediately, and get Healthcare and TAX CUTS

approved, fast and easy.

Dems would do it, no doubt!

As The Hill details, Trump called earlier this month for the end of the filibuster,

which essentially requires 60 votes for a bill to pass the Senate.

"The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need

60 votes in the Senate which are not there!

We either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%.

Our country needs a good 'shutdown' in September to fix mess!" he wrote at the time.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) shot down Trumps call at the time, saying

that will not happen.

And 60 Senators write a month ago saying they do not support the 'nuclear option'...

We suspect Schumer will be quick to respond to Trump's tweet.

BRAIDED TOP KNOT || HowTo EVERYDAY HAIR TUTORIAL || Anchanté Hair - Duration: 5:22.

hi everyone it's Konul here with you today and today I will be showing you how to

create a braided top knot make sure to hit that subscribe button

down below and keep on watching thick top hair, well over here, I don't have

thickness as you can see it's very fine I'm going to create the texture it with

my a rebate dry texturizing spray and my teasing comb. Tease it and then texturize it

literally and then afterwards we're going to braid it and when I say braid it

it's very easy like pleasantly literally braided but it's going to look like as

if you have braided it so but just a whole bit first what's not cool is that

he's at first and once we teased it you know what you're keeping in it because

you want that thickness so this is how it should look

so for this tutorial all you really need just hair elastics and that's it. Now

this is the large one. If you have thick hair if your sub less than yes this is

also for you but if you don't like me then it's the small one and I'm going to

go ahead with the small one obviously. And the way it's gonna be , it's how much

like you christ cross it's kind of like a French braid you're going to do that

with your hair this is a hair new grass procure and you're just going to cross

it okay keep it with your fingers so make sure over here this is what you

have like it's not parting because with me supporting it I'm going to like this

is this is what you did you're going to hold it you're going to drop more from

here and take it and you're gonna close to the other side so you see you have

this little crisscross going on over here and you're gonna do the same thing

over here and you just going to grab it grab it

cross it over here and again so if you look over here hope you

can see it if you look over here you feel like this course satellite clock

that's happening that's exactly what we're doing

so this is where I'm going to stop so this is the kind of a lucky that you're

getting and all this is done you can put a top lot over here so all

of here which you have braided actually I would recommend just grabbing one

bobby pin and just blow instead so you kind of secure so just try to do it in

the middle all the way to the front so it's secure them in its claim if you see

right now stick your tool so it's fine and you're going to do you're going to

grab the hair from the side of your top knot and you could create a table I'm

applying hair again

how it looks over here but this is not good like this is another question we're

just going to slide it out and Bob Easton is an ex place that's it really

absolutely so this is ash for this top knot well braided top nut I really love

this work it's very cute and you have small here over the world chasms this

looks very cute and it was very full so this is a key and so that's this guy so

once you texturize it and keys it then your hair looks very full as you can see

and I wish has problems with coconuts because I would have like this tiny tiny

tiny thing over here and it wouldn't look cute and this one I love it because

what it braided this is the same so if you have very fine hair at the front

then I recommend totally braiding it because once you braid it it's not

really breathing and you're just pulling your hair to the sides once you do that

you cover like the finest over here and it looks like you have folks here this

is what makes this look very interesting very smooth very famous and very Street

alike so I love this look and I really hope you enjoyed this look as well let

me know in the comment box down below how you like this any other hairstyles
