Why Do Married Couples Have Less Sex? | Casey and Meygan Caston - Duration: 1:57.

You know we have a moniker that we are the "least likely to succeed" couple and

let me explain why. Between both sets of our parents there

are 12 marriages. My mom is on her sixth. So all I've ever known is disconnection

and divorce. Of course we're also very stubborn - very. He's stubborn. No, you're more

stubborn that I am. We're both stubborn. We're still stubborn. We had

zero communication skills. It had gotten so bad we did not just not like each

other. We hated each other. And of course we were great Christians back then, so we

always forgave but we never forgot, and the first thing to go was our sex life.

Since then we've discovered this: the enemy tactic, when it comes to sex, is he

will do anything he can to put you in the bedroom before you get married, and

then you cross this line when you say "I do" and he will do everything he can to

keep you out of the bedroom after you're married. Yeah because, isn't that so true,

right? You know we're not here to tell you this morning that you're supposed to

have a great sex life because we all know that it's God's gift to marriage -

right? Can I get an amen on that? Right? He created it for marriage. All the

husbands are all "Yeah! Amen!"

Hey, and there was wives saying that - come on

give us some credit. And so if we know that it's a gift. We know God designed it

for marriage. We know that it's an incredible way to connect with our

spouse then why are we having less and less sex?

The Pitch - Duration: 1:37.

[traffic noise]

So I understand you have a pitch for me.

Ok, let's get right into it then!

So it's a show about a bunny rabbit-

Ah, no. Fidget spinner.

Um... a what?

Fidget spinner.

No, it should be a bunny rabbit.

Millennials don't care about rabbits.

It's got to be fidget spinners.

Ok, um, maybe if I carry on.

So it's a show about a bunny rabbit- Fidget spinner.

Named Flopsy.

Fidget spinner.

What's wrong with Flopsy?

Trust me, the millennials will love it!

Ok... and he lives in a magical forest.

Wait wait wait, I'm getting a brain wave!

Here it comes! Here it comes! Fidget spinners!

Why?

Look, I hear what you're saying but we got to think about those millennials.

Fidget spinners.

Maybe millennials just like good TV shows?

Wait, that's sounds good, but, hmm let me think.

Fidget spinners.

Ok ok ok! Fine! Sure!

Also, he has the ability to duplicate himself!

That doesn't make any sense!

It made more sense when he was a rabbit because of rabbits and multiplying but-

You know what? Easy fix.

Fidget spinners.

No!

Fidget spinners!

Pleases!

No, you're right. It can't always be fidget spinners.

Oh, how about instead...

Fidget spinners!

Ok... so he's a fidget spinner, named Fidget Spinner, who lives in a magical fidget spinner

and has the ability to fidget spinner?

Brilliant!

And the millennials will love it!

But it should also deal with serious themes such as depression, anxiety and social issues.

Oh my god, yes!

Yes!

Absolutely! I agree!

Oh wait no, I mean FIDGET SPINNERS!

You got to think of something millennials love just as much as fidget spinners.

Hmm, lemme think...

How about fidget spinners?

Android Tips 📱Shooting Video on Android 📺 DIY in 5 Ep 65 - Duration: 3:32.

How did anyone put anything on YouTube before smartphones?!?

Seriously, this is so much easier.

What's up guys?

Trisha Hershberger here and in this episode of DIY in 5 we'll show you some

tips and tricks for creating awesome YouTube videos using just your Android phone.

Don't forget to subscribe so you won't miss any of our upcoming episodes.

One of the first things you need to remember about shooting with any type of phone is

remembering that no matter how good the camera is… it's still a phone.

Those five person group texts trying to figure out where to go for dinner

will ruin a video quicker than anything.

Aside from just being annoying they can stop your video mid shot.

The simplest way to quiet your friends down is to turn on Airplane mode.

For most Android devices just swipe down from the top to get your settings panel

and click on the airplane icon.

Now that you've ensured an uninterrupted shoot you'll want to

set up your video for maximum YouTube glory.

Since the default viewing experience for most people is horizontal, make sure your camera

is set up to shoot that way.

Please.

In the age of Snapchat it might be natural to shoot vertically but for YouTube it's

best to put the phone sideways.

We'll also want to make sure your footage is steady.

If you're filming by hand you might want to think about investing in a grip like this one

which will run about 15 bucks.

For the ultimate in buttery smooth footage you might want to get a 3-axis gimbal.

But, that'll be a bit more expensive and start around $150.

If you fancy yourself more in the vlog style of, say, Philip DeFranco then a simple tripod is for you.

Amazon or your local camera store will have a ton of options for you to choose from.

Next, the all important lighting.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: lighting can really take your video

from amateur to professional.

If you're shooting outside during the day

then sunlight should be more than enough to make that video shine!

But what if you're indoors?

You might want to pick up a lighting kit and set it up for maximum vlog goodness.

Check out our livestream tips here where we show you the basics of lighting and how to

create a well-lit setup for under 50 bucks.

While phone cameras have become cinematic, 4K capable, low-light shooting DSLR replacements,

the microphones on them have not evolved at all.

If you use the built-in microphone for more than phone calls your audio usually

sounds like you filmed on an airplane or at a concert.

Alight, this is the built-in microphone.

Sounds lovely, don't it?

It's just bad.

It's best if you can use an external mic like the one we have here.

They pick up much cleaner audio and come in a variety of styles to suit your video style.

This is what it sounds like with the lav.

Testing 1, 2, 1, 2, 3.

One of the problems with Android phones is that not all the stock camera apps

will recognize your external microphone.

If you have a phone that doesn't recognize the microphone then you'll want to use

a 3rd party video app like Open Camera.

Once downloaded, you can go into settings and change your audio source to external mics. Very cool!

What would you say if I told you this whole episode was filmed on a phone?

No, it's definitely not, you'd call me a liar is what you would say and you'd be correct.

So who's your favorite YouTube creator?

Let us know in the comments below.

And if you think you're going to fill up that phone of yours

with all the new video you're shooting check out this video here

where we help you decide which microSD to get for your Android.

That's all for now - thanks for watching DIYin5 and we'll see you next time.

And there's no forced entry. The killer's somebody that strawberry is comfortable with.

But who would do that? I think that will tell us.

Batman, you're under arrest. Check the house Barney.

But, but what did I do?

I didn't do that. That is not me.

It sure does look alot like you.

I was there all night watching my show. Oh, oh deadpool was here for a little bit. He can vouch for me.

Sorry dude, I wasn't here last night. I had a ton of homework to burn.

They are called Mega Morphs.

They like puns and hate Red.

Except there was this one thing

His suit was blue. He wasn't wearing any

Wow Deadpool, what happened to your suit?

I guess you could say I'm a little blue.

That wasn't deadpool.

That was an alien. It morphed into deadpool.

But her weakness is red

So she morphed into blue deadpool

But how did she get into strawberry delight's house?

You said it must have been someone he knew or else he would not have let him in.

He would not have let deadpool or me in.

That's why he didn't let you or deadpool in.

It was someone else who knocked on the door that night

Hello sweety.

Then, at your house, the mega morph turned into Barney.

That way he could plant the sword in your house.

So that means?

You've been framed! You're innocent!

But why would the mega morph take out strawberry?

Because it hates red.

So she must be trying to destroy all red things.

Where would she be now?

Deadpool!

Oh hi Detective Donut, do you need something?

I have a killer idea!

Uh, what are you doing?

No, no, no!

How are we going to find him?

Oceania Insignia Cruise Ship Tour 2017 - Oceania Cruise Line - Duration: 18:25.

Oceania Cruises' Insignia is one of the line's quartet of intimate "R-Class" ships

that also includes the Regatta, Nautica and Sirena.

The Insignia was built in 1998 as now-defunct Renaissance Cruises' R One,

the first of eight identical 30 ,277 gross-ton, 684-guest cruise ships.

The R One (hull no. H31)

and fellow R Ships were built by Alsthom-Chantiers de l'Atlantique,

the shipyard at St. Nazaire, France,

that built the legendary liners Normandie, Ile de France and France, among others.

Today, it is operated by STX Europe.

The R One was laid up when Renaissance Cruises declared bankruptcy in 2001.

In 2003, it was chartered to and eventually purchased by Oceania Cruises.

For a brief time, the ship operated as the Regatta before becoming the Insignia.

In 2012,

the Insignia was chartered to German-based Hapag-Lloyd Cruises,

which renamed the ship Columbus 2.

In 2014, the ship returned to Oceania Cruises,

taking back the name Insignia for worldwide cruising service.

Connected by two stair towers and four elevators,

Insignia has nine guest decks, starting at the top with Deck 11,

which is fronted by a glass screen and a putting course.

On the port side of Deck 11, there is an outdoor shower and sunning space.

On the starboard side of Deck 11, in addition to sunning space,

there is a shuffleboard court.

This is a view overlooking the midships pool area from Deck 11.

A jogging track encircles the pool area on Deck 10.

Seen from Deck 10,

the midships pool area on Deck 9 is lined in teak and features two large Jacuzzis

as well as shaded and open deck space.

The pool itself is surrounded by a shallow, watery basin.

Directly aft of the pool on the starboard side of Deck 9,

the 78-seat Waves Grill is a sheltered, al fresco,

casual eatery that is open for breakfast and lunch.

This is a freshly grilled veggie burger with homemade fries, made to order in the Waves Grill.

Seating up to 20 guests, the Patio is a sheltered,

al fresco lounge area aft of the pool on the port side of Deck 9.

Although the Insignia and its sisters weren't designed with fully encircling promenades,

they have handsome finite promenades on Deck 5 that are wide enough

for deck chairs and within ear's reach of the gurgle of the passing sea.

The aptly named Horizons is located at the forward end of Deck 10

and features full-length windows along its forward,

port and starboard sides.

It seats up to 180 guests.

A bar, a large dance floor and a bandstand are located in the center of Horizons.

The port side of Horizons has cushioned settees with a nice view of the sea.

Every day at 4 p.m.,

an elegant tea with fresh-baked scones, sweets and sandwiches is offered in Horizons.

On the aft/port side of Horizons, there is a glassed-in smoking area.

When the Insignia does its world cruises,

the aft/starboard corner of Horizons becomes the Artists' Loft,

a classroom for aspiring artists.

The Insignia has an elegant, Edwardian-inspired,

25-seat Library with walnut veneers,

a frescoed skylight and a faux fireplace.

It is stocked with over 1,000 books on art, movies,

history and the places the ship visits as well as several computer stations (Internet charges apply).

The Polo Grill is the Insignia's popular steakhouse.

There is no cover charge but reservations are required for this 98-seat eatery on aft/starboard Deck 10.

Polo table settings feature custom chargers, linen napkins and Riedel stemware.

The crab cake appetizers are one of the most popular courses in the Polo Grill.

The steaks in Polo Grill are USDA Prime certified and dry-aged for 28 days to enhance the flavor.

Toscana is the reservations-required, 96-seat Italian trattoria on aft/port Deck 10.

Toscana settings include custom Versace chargers,

linen napkins and Riedel stemware.

The freshly baked breads in Toscana are among the best at sea

and come with olive oil and balsamic vinegar menus.

Even Toscana's most simple pasta dishes, like this spaghetti pomodoro,

are made from the finest ingredients,

like fresh basil and genuine Reggiano Parmesan cheese.

Deck 9 begins with the well-equipped Canyon Ranch Spa,

which offers a comprehensive menu of therapies, treatments and massages.

There are four private treatment rooms in the Canyon Ranch Spa.

The Canyon Ranch Spa has men's (shown)

and women's dressing rooms with showers and a sauna.

They provide direct access to the spa terrace.

The sheltered spa terrace has forward-facing views from a lofty vantage

above the wheelhouse and features a large Jacuzzi and cushioned deck chairs.

Concierge-level stateroom guests have free unlimited access; otherwise, charges apply.

A full-service beauty salon is on the port side of the Canyon Ranch Spa.

The Fitness Center is on the starboard side of the Canyon Ranch Spa.

It features a stretching and aerobics area, spinning bikes,

cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines.

The Card Room seats 24 and is adjacent to the spa on the port side of Deck 9.

The Oceania at Sea computer and Internet center (fees apply)

adjoins the Card Room on port Deck 9.

The casual Terrace Cafe is at the aft end of Deck 9.

It has seating on either side that can accommodate up to 142 guests.

The Terrace Cafe is open for breakfast,

lunch and dinner and has a pizzeria as well as numerous action stations serving made-to-order pasta,

salads, desserts and locally sourced culinary specialties.

An al fresco seating area directly aft of the Terrace Cafe overlooks the ship's wake.

It accommodates an additional 100 guests.

The 340-seat Insignia Lounge is the ship's main showroom,

beginning a full deck of public spaces on Deck 5.

The Insignia Lounge has a large circular marquetry dance floor in its center and a sunken bar aft.

Dark walnut paneling and filigreed columns line the entryways on either side of the Insignia Lounge.

A wide passage connects the Insignia Lounge with the shopping areas on the starboard side of Deck 5.

The Casino is on the port side of Deck 5, just aft of the Insignia Lounge.

Martinis is a bar that adjoins the Casino on the port side of Deck 5.

Martinis is a popular pre- and post-dinner venue featuring live music from the ship's band

or guest artists like resident pianist Bobby Hamilton.

Seating 47 guests,

Martinis is an attractive and comfortable room with oversized furniture and fine decorative elements.

The Insignia has a gift and sundry shop on the port side of Deck 5.

Directly across from the gift shop, there is a jeweler.

The 27-seat Upper Hall on Deck 5 is a popular setting

for classical music recitals throughout the afternoon and evening.

A grand staircase inspired by those of the great Edwardian liners

links the Upper Hall on Deck 5 with the reception area on Deck 4.

A backlit dome over the staircase and ornate iron railing enhance the grandeur of the Upper Hall area.

The repeat cruisers' desk is on the port side of the Upper Hall.

Baristas is the popular specialty coffee bar seating up to 30 guests on the aft/starboard side of Deck 5.

Complimentary coffee drinks and snacks are available here throughout the day and into the late afternoon.

All non-alcoholic drinks, including made-to-order espressos,

are free of charge at Baristas.

The 330-seat Grand Dining Room is the Insignia's main full-service dining venue.

It is located at the far aft end of Deck 5.

The Grand Dining Room offers open seating dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A painstaking attention to quality and detail, especially in the dining experience,

distinguishes Oceania from its upmarket competition.

Even in the Grand Dining Room, the freshly baked breads are among the best at sea.

Although the Grand Dining Room may not have the cachet of the reservations-required venues,

its courses are as tasty as they are beautifully presented.

This is an artichoke and Kalamata olive starter.

The reception area is at the base of the grand staircase on aft Deck 4.

Here is another view of the grand staircase, from a Deck 4 perspective.

The Destination Services (shore excursions)

desk is located on the port side of the reception area on Deck 4.

Concierge desks are located on the starboard side of the reception lobby on Deck 5.

The medical center is on Deck 4.

The Insignia has a self-service launderette that comes in especially handy on long cruises.

Guests can purchase tokens from reception to operate the machines.

The Insignia has six 1,000-square-foot Owner's Suites on aft Decks 8,

7 and 6 with separate bedrooms and living/dining areas.

In the ship's next refit, they will be upgraded to look just like the Owner's Suites on sister ship Sirena (shown).

This is another view of an Owner's Suite living/dining area as it will appear after Insignia's next refit.

Owner's Suites have spacious bedrooms with extensive cabinet and closet space and king-sized beds.

Here is an alternate view of an Owner's Suite as it will appear after the Insignia's next refurbishment.

Owner's Suites have wide, wrap-around teak-lined corner balconies.

Owner's Suite bathrooms are lined in granite and marble and feature large showers and a wide sink area.

Premier League 17/18 Week 2: Stoke City vs Arsenal Lineups, Preview and Prediction - Duration: 11:46.

Premier League 17/18 Week 2: Stoke City vs Arsenal Lineups, Preview and Prediction

Arsenal blew the doors off the Premierships opening fixture to silence their critics but can they do it in Stoke on a Saturday evening?.

17:30 KO (BST); Saturday 19th August; bet365 Stadium (Stoke, England) BT Sport 1. After a disjointed season, Mark Hughes was left with many question marks hanging over his future at the club.

The narrow defeat against Everton provided signs of improvement for the Potters but in a world where results are the all-important factor, he will be acutely aware that the next improvements need to be reflected in their points total.

Having lost four of their previous five games against Arsenal and drawing the fifth, Stoke have also lost their status as being the Gunners bogey-team.

With Hughes looking to re-establish his side as a Premiership force to be reckoned with, a good start would be to improve their home record whilst providing the Gunners with another hex.

Arsene Wenger is also a manager who is in need of a marked improvement this season.

After victory in the FA Cup proved insufficient to silence all of the doubters at the Emirates Stadium, his sights will be firmly set on the Premiership title, especially as they will be without any European distractions this season.

While the Gunners are still suffering from a distinct lack of solidity at the back, they at least seem to have restored their attacking verve, possibly an element which could win back supporters in this age of entertainment.

If the results too can follow, Wenger's decision to stay on will be truly vindicated.

Everton 1 – 0 STOKE CITY (Premier League). The Potters began their season in uninspiring style as Rooney marked his homecoming with the games solitary goal on Merseyside.

Stoke had kept the Toffees at arm's-length for large periods of the match, however, their only real meaningful sight on goal didn't arrive until stoppage time at the end of the second-half when Xherdan Shaqiri's effort produced a fine finger-tip save from Jordan Pickford.

After joining Stoke on a free transfer this summer, Darren Fletcher was arguably the Potters best player over the course of the game.

His team-high of 44 passes at a success rate of 68% accuracy simultaneously underlines his desire to be involved with play and his teams lack control over the game.

The biggest positive for Mark Hughes to take back after the match was the solidity of his side's defence, with fellow débutante Kurt Zouma being particularly impressive at the back.

Max Choupo-Moting also made his club debut during the final 18 minutes, replacing the ineffective Bojan Krkic.

While he looked lively cutting in from the left flank, more remains to be seen if he can help answer Stoke's need for a quality forward. ARSENAL 4 – 3 Leicester City (Premier League).

The Premiership's opening game was the spectacle that many had hoped for but few predicted.  While it was a frantic match that placed much greater emphasis on attack than defence, Arsenal were the more dominant side despite twice falling behind.

Registering 27 attempts on goal compared to Leicester's 6, Wenger will be more than happy with the majority of what he saw, especially considering his back-three were comprised of arguably his fourth-choice centre-back marshalling two left-backs.

This will not totally excuse his players of conceding to half of Leicester's forays, however, there were strong signs of a steely resolve beneath Arsenal's skin.

Alexandre Lacazette's early headed goal on his debut, Granit Xhaka seemingly continuing where he left off at the end of last season whilst contributing two assists, and Olivier Giroud's inspirational turn from the bench were all among the key highlights for the Gunners but another star performance came from an unlikely place.

Amid much-reported transfer speculation, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave a good account of himself with an energetic and committed performance.  Whether this was to establish his position in the team or the shop window remains to be seen.

Mark Hughes is without worry as he chooses from his starting line-up without any injury concerns.

New signings Bruno Martins Indi and Jese Rodriguez could potentially start the for the Potters while Eric Choupo-Moting pushed himself a little closer to the starting eleven with a lively substitute appearance last weekend.

Laurent Koscielny is still while Gabriel Paulista (knee) Alexis Sánchez (abdominal) Santiago Cazorla (ankle) and Jack Wilshere (leg) and Kieran Gibbs are unavailable for the Gunners. Key Battle: Ryan Shawcross vs Alexandre Lacazette.

Arguably the biggest priority for Hughes this summer has been the restructuring of his defence.

Having forged a team who are famed for their no-nonsense approach to defending and keeping clean-sheets, last season would have been a shock for their fans to see so many soft goals being leaked.

Shawcross was especially culpable of a serious of defensive errors which accounted for his team's downfall but the new three-man back line seems to be designed to extract his best qualities.

Facing him this week is a striker who already appears as though he will be one of the better additions to the Premier League.

Lacazette has hit the ground running with a goal on his Premiership debut that will serve to give him space to breathe as Mourinho recently described.

His movement and timing is perhaps his greatest strength which will require close attention from Stoke if they're to prevent him from taking in any more oxygen.

Stoke are continuing in their quest to form a team full of star names but at what cost?  With the midweek arrival of Jesé Rodriguez on loan from PSG, Stoke now have five Champions League winners sitting in their dressing room.

In a game where you don't win bonus points for style, reputations which can take years to build can be easily destroyed and this could prove to be an added pressure on his players who have already failed to establish themselves in the teams which attained European glory.

It's an interesting side-note that many Stoke fans believe that the outgoing Spanish striker Joselu was not afforded enough chances in the first team and that he's left the club for a bargain price.

Having already watched a collection of assembled stars underperforming last season, there will be some genuine fears that their manager is again choosing reputations and ego ahead of everything else.

The capture of Darren Fletcher from West Brom this summer tends to dispute this fact but the only person who can truly answer the recent round of critics is a player with the name Jesé emblazoned upon his back.

Super-sub. One of the best pieces of news for Arsenal in recent years is quite possibly the decision made by Olivier Giroud to stay on at the Gunners.

Wenger revealed that he had offered Giroud the chance to leave London for a new opportunity if he wished after Lacazette's signing signalled his French compatriot would receive less playing time as a result.

Not only did Giroud decline this offer, he's also made some critical appearances from the bench for the Gunners already since then.

The added depth that having a back-up striker of Giroud's calibre is huge, especially when you consider that he offers a different style of play to the other forwards in the squad, meaning he offers variation in a gameplan as well as fresh legs from the bench.

The term "super-sub" has rarely been applied at Arsenal but they may have just found the perfect candidate for that mantel.

Wenger has recently admitted that his main confirm left in the transfer window is to reduce the number of players currently on the Arsenal books.  Alexis Sánchez not being one of them though.

This has lead to much speculation and many stories connecting possible destinations for a host of players viewed as being on the periphery of the squad.

One player who has recently caught the headlines is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Chelsea among a list of potential suitors for the young Englishman.

His inclusion in the side against Leicester last Friday suggests he's still in Wenger's plans while his performance suggests that it could be somewhere near the forefront.

With Gabriel appearing to be clearing his locker and picking up his coat, it could very well be that the flash sale has begun, with interesting times ahead for the Gunners rehabilitation. PREDICTION: Stoke City 1 – 3 Arsenal.

The arrival of Jesé is yet another sign of strengthening at the Potteries and furthermore, it's in an area that they're desperately in need of improving.

Hughes has found a new system which he believes will get the best from his side, however, Wenger has already had his new system and players integrated into his line of thinking for several weeks and this should be more than enough to see his team pick up all three points to keep the critics from his door for at least another week.

Liệu Stoke có thể giành lại thành tích của Arsenal trên Arsenal hay Arsenal sẽ ra sân?.

The Defenders: How Marvel's Netflix Heroes Assemble For The First Time - Duration: 3:40.

When it comes to Marvel's The Defenders, it all starts with The Fisher King. No, that's not the name of a Marvel super-villain, though it certainly sounds like one.

Instead, it's the 1991 Terry Gilliam film about a disgraced shock jock and a homeless man who find friendship and redemption in one another. The film features a memorable scene set inside a Chinese restaurant

"For me, I didn't know much about what the show was from the very beginning," Defenders showrunner Marco Ramirez tells The Hollywood Reporter.

"A lot of the process was discovery. But I always had this image of the four of them sitting around at a table eating at a Chinese restaurant and looking at each other, in one place. I didn't know when it would happen, whether it would be at the end of the series

Cinematically, it's very similar to a scene from The Fisher King, a very different movie but one that feels very New York to me. I always wanted to get that Chinese restaurant meeting together.

Ultimately, The Defenders' Chinese restaurant meet-up wound up at the halfway mark of the series. It takes three full episodes before all four of the main characters are in the same scene at the same time

"It's not like someone comes in and asks, 'Hi, where's your hallway fight?' It's just organically the place," Ramirez says, laughing at the mention of how frequently hallways are used for fight scenes in the Marvel Netflix Universe.

"It was a really long shoot," says Jones of the scene, in which Iron Fist stands front and center in the hallway fight against members of The Hand, including Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra and Elodie Yung's Elektra.

"But it was also... leading up to that, I'd got a big fight scene with about 10 Hand members, and I remember just feeling it. It was a big [shoot] — from the scene before that into the hallway fight scene, that was just a grind."

After the battle, in which all four of the Defenders converge on the same location for different reasons, the heroes not-quite-yet-for-hire seek shelter inside a nearby Chinese restaurant, hiding out from the rest of The Hand.

When the four of them get together, however, there's an opportunity for everybody's backstories to come to the surface, with a fair amount of incredulity shared between future teammates.

"That was some of my favorite stuff," says Cox, who plays Murdock. "Because that's the stuff that was the least plot-driven. It was all character-driven. It was that episode where we come together for the first time

and we kind of explain who we are and why we're there and who's what, and some of us are keeping secrets, some of us aren't, and that's the stuff that I think the fans are really gonna love. It's all character-driven, which is my favorite stuff to do."

With that said, it's a bit jarring that it takes four full episodes before all four Defenders are standing together, side-by-side, shoulder-to-shoulder, fully committed to fighting alongside one another — with an assist from Scott Glenn as Stick, on top of it.

For his part, Ramirez says the decision to delay the assembling of the Defenders has roots all the way back in the very first Marvel-Netflix series: the first season of Daredevil, which spent 12 out of 13 hours keeping Matt Murdock away from his iconic costume.

"We had a lot of conversations in the writers room about how long could we wait to keep Matt in the black Zorro costume and cargo pants," remembers Ramirez.

"How long would the audience stay with us? It was a big risk. [We] took that risk in a big way, and I think it paid off in droves. All of us learned at that point that the audience that comes to these shows is pretty sophisticated.

What's more, Ramirez believes it wouldn't have made sense to assemble the Defenders earlier than the end of the third episode — and really band them together by the end of the fourth — due to how much these heroes are used to operating on their own.

"To me, it was important that these characters got to the story of The Defenders in their own time, so that it never felt like they were being recruited for a corporate project called The Defenders," he says. "These are all very independent people.

Of all the superpowers that somebody like Jessica Jones has, the real power is how independently minded she is, and how she refuses to take anyone's shit. The thought that she was just going to get recruited to work on a team just didn't work.
