Boat Review & Two Interviews: Rayglass 3500 feat. John Eichelsheim - Duration: 7:59.
Hi i'm John Eichelsheim from Boating
Zealand magazine. Today we're aboard the
new Rayglass 3500. Long awaited and
much anticipated new model from Rayglass,
who have a reputation for building
quality vessels. This is certainly one of
them, it's important to the New Zealand
boating industry for lots of reasons, not
least because it is a production launch
and those things are really quite rare
today in New Zealand.
The Rayglass 3500 likes to cruise
at about 25 knots, it's a comfortable
speed, the fuel consumption
is pretty reasonable and you're
certainly going to cover the ground in a hurry.
So we're up here on the bow of
the Rayglass 3500.
There's a nice lounging area here, these
cushions can be removed when you're
underway, but great place when you're
when you're still and the sun's out.
There's even some drink holders, four of
them, stainless steel drink holders there.
Up on the windscreen you can see we've
got three really robust windscreen
wipers, there's a spotlight and up on the
roof area we've also got solar panels,
which I'm told, produce enough power to keep
everything topped up on this boat that's
pretty good going.
New Rayglass 3500 has got a really
social layout, and that's typified by
this galley area which opens out onto
the cockpit, the window folds right up
out of the way you've got a bifold door
here so that the whole space opens onto
the cockpit really nicely. I like the way
the servery works. You can be cooking in
here and serving or you can be standing
in the cockpit and being social with
people who are inside the boat.
I'm talking with Scott Little from Rayglass boats.
Now Scott you had quite a
bit to do with this boat right from the
very beginning didn't you? Yeah I did
John yeah we've been very excited about this
whole project. Initially it started from
me personally wanting to look at a boat
and come up with a concept of something
that would suit my wife and family.
There's a lot about it that suits the Kiwi lifestyle.
Was that part of what you were trying to achieve?
Yeah we basically built a boat that would cater
for all the needs of a guy, his wife, and the family,
so you've got that saloon area up
in the front of the boat giving you the
U-Lounge, the separate galley, and then
we built the cockpit area and the
front around it basically. So you
actually started with the sort of
the living areas of the boat and then sort
of went from there is that how you sort
of worked it? Basically saw it as a,
as the main operating area of a boat which
you know, you know most people want to
work in the saloon day and night and
then we develop the rest of it from there.
Now this is a pretty important boat for
Rayglass, I mean this is a production motor
launch which you know the like Hanse
in New Zealand these days and you must
be pretty excited about the whole thing?
Yeah we are actually we a we're really
excited about the future for, for
ourselves and obviously importantly for
our customers and for our suppliers.
On our own perspective we've learned a lot
from the 4000 that we previously built,
which was a very successful boat and we've
put in a new spin on the layout and
improved things so we feel that we've got
a boat that's really suited for the Kiwi
boatie and the lifestyle that we expect
to have here in New Zealand.
So got a really comfortable helm
position this captain seat is just
brilliant, I like the way you've got fold
away armrest, you sit here securely.
Excellent vision from here right around
and you know it's a place that you can sit
to drive or stand to drive. The bolster
folds away all the controls fall nicely
to hand in this case it's a
Simrad multi function display, but you
could have a Garmin or whatever it is
you wanted to have, but there's plenty of
real estate there for modern electronics
another feature is the fact that the
battery switches are remote, so you can turn
your batteries on and off from here at
the helm which is a really nice feature.
So for a boat of this size, this is a
really good saloon area. We've got a full
wrap around settee and a proper saloon
table that you can sit around and enjoy.
Extra seating on the starboard side this
arrangement would easily accommodate
five or six people. They've used really
sensible easy care fabrics, the sight
lines from here are excellent sitting
down, I can see out the windows I can see
right around the boat. Plenty of light
also from the skylights which open and
are going to give us some ventilation to
in the open position.
This works extremely well.
Now the Rayglass 3500
cockpit is not massive, but it does work
particularly well, you've got this nice
wide swim platform aft here, that people
will use to fish from, we've got a nicely
moulded bait table here that's something
that Rayglass does very well. We've also
got this barbecue area, it's very
sensible attached to the outside of the boat
you sort of keep the mess on this side
and a nice reversible seat.
I'd like to introduce Simon Barker from Ownaship.
Simon quite a few of your customers are
interested in this boat.
We've been working with Scott for close
to two years now providing, some feedback
with regard to this boat, so at the
moment we've currently got four boats on
order for Rayglass, which is really
exciting. As you've seen there's our first one
the first two boats currently sold out
and once we start telling everybody
about this great story, I'm sure the
next couple will go after that pretty quickly.
So Simon very briefly how does it work?
How do people get into a boat like this
with Ownaship? Yeah so what we do is try
and make it affordable. We buy a boat
then we split it up into shares and
there's currently six shareholders going
into this boat and then they share their time.
The allocation that they'll get is
they'll get use of up to 57 days a year
which is a lot of boating time.
So they put some capital in. They've got
pride of ownership they all talk about
it being their own and BBQ stories
dinner parties.
They're all saying: Do you wanna come out on
my boat? Which is, which is great, it's great
to hear. And then they'll pay an annual
management fee which covers all the
costs associated like: Marina insurance
and maintenance. All our boats are all
walk on or walk off. So they're all cleaned
and valied. After they've finish which they
absolutely love, and also it makes that
easy getting out on the boat they can
spend more time out there.
No fuss boating you just get all the enjoyment
and none of the, none of the other stuff.
We take away all the hassles that people
have with boating, and they just do
everything that everybody enjoys, works great.
Right well the engine room hatches
hydraulically operated as you can see it
lifts up right out of the way excess is
great, we've got a couple of Mercury
diesel TDI engines 260 horsepower each,
these are essentially the same engines
that go into the Volkswagen Touareg so
nice and light and powerful
it's a 35 knot boat which is pretty good
going for a boat of this size.
So this is the
master cabin it's the largest cabin on
the boat. It extends underneath the
saloon floor, but there is room enough
here for a full queen-size mattress and
you can drop in whatever mattress you
like. We've got standing room for
dressing so that works quite well, some
storage and yeah, it's quite a sensible use
of the space which otherwise might not
have been so well utilized.
This is the Bow cabin
and again we've got another
double berth, you can sleep two people here
quite happily, and there is an option of
another bunk so you could sleep three if
you go for the bunk option.
So the heads
are a good size they are completely
molded fully molded so, really really
easy to clean and really practical.
So there we are that's the Rayglass 3500
it's a smart new vessel, significant new
vessel for the New Zealand boat building
industry and one that I think a lot of
Kiwi's are really going to enjoy.

Indywidualna racja żywnościowa SRG 7 część 2/2 ENGLISH SUBTITLES - Duration: 16:15.
Hi, this is Delicious !
This is meal A from the 24h ration menu 7
A new ration produced since 2016
rye crispbread
'pork special'
I have reviewed it in a video about new Polish cans'
link to this vid will be at the end and in the description box
honey
Mexican style chicken stew
sound silmilar to what we've had in the individual ration S-R-3
instant tea, forest fruit flavor
I will heat up this can in hot water
and we will prepare all the rest
I am taking the accessory pack
this big napkin again
we have everythign incl. knife, what will be useful for this luncheon meat
we'll start with the tea
this is forest fruit flavor
I will prepare it cold
a pack of crispbread
we'll take 2 pieces
we have the 'pork special'
made by 'Sokołów'
we have the honey from "Stovit" company
all jams as well as honey are delivered by "Stovit"
this is mixed flower honey
I am checking if there is a producer info
there is no producer, we have only best before May 2019
but as you know in case of honey it is not so important
it is fresh, partially runny
Let's start with the side dishes, the entree is already warmed
but it is still bit too hot
I've already tasted this crispbread
I will eat it with the 'pork special'
'pork special' is a kind of luncheon meat
it is coarse ground
77% of pork meat
water, salt, garlic
spices and preservatives
nothing unusual inside
first I will taste on its own
it's very tasty, salty enough
has a bit of jelly , is pretty fatty
what improves the taste
you can taste the spices, garlic
really good thing
let's try with the crispbread
it tastes very good
despite the bread is dry and we don't have butter
the meat is fatty and together it makes a good set
now this forest fruit tea
I will stir a bit more
has a light, fruity taste
I'm not sure if these are forest fruits, but certainly fruits
not too sweet, pleasant
we'll try the honey
the honey together with the crispbread
partially it is runny, partially solid
it is a classic, multi flower honey
sweet, not controversial
not too spicy
a lot of healthy ingredients inside
doesn't get spolied
I think it is a perfect snack for such rations
time for the entree
we'll make some space here
here is the can
it was in hot water for 10 minutes
simmering water , about 90 deg C
let's put it into the bowl
if you don't eat everything you have always the lid to cover
what's inside?
43% chicken leg meat
water,tomatoes - 12%
corn - 8%, red beans - 8%
tomato paste
spices, falvor enhancers
dried vegetables
just a standard as for a can
these are huge pieces of chicken leg meat
red beans, corn
smells nice
let's try everything together
a good taste, the meat is in chunks , not ground
corn is lightly sweet
for me it is a bit too little sour and spicy
I will unpack the accesories
we have salt and pepper here
it is much better with salt and pepper
the salt enhances the sourness from tomato
the pepper spices it up
it was best with this Mexican sauce :)
It was Meal A and now we will take care of accesories
These are the accessories, some of them we have already used
as usually in SRG we have 4 cups
paper cups, very good
they are heat resistant and quite stiff
the portable esbit stove
two big zip-lock bags
Whan you unpack the whole ration and eat one meal
it is perfect to pack the remaining two into these bags
we have tissue or toilet paper
let's open this
I wonder if it is like in the US MRE - single sheet or a longer piece
Bingo ! we have a paper from a roll !
so our ration is more usable than the US:)
we have a common trash bag
we have 3 moist towlettes and the rest is to be eaten
let's open one and check
lemon scent
it is quite big and very moist - hard to unfold
nice smell
we have salt and pepper, one set I have already used
3 vitamin C candies, 3 coffee candies
3 packs, 2 gums each
2 packs of coffee, 10g of sugar
no too much, but I think it is enough
if you can remember Russian ration - they had even 60g of sugar
we don't have tea, but it is as instant tea
that we tried before
we have also a dark chocolate
60% cocoa
we have the instant coffee
it is produced by the same company "Kruger", which makes the instant tea
it is a bit funny for me - such specialized vocabulary
ingredients:100% instant 'dusty' coffee
probably it means they are not granules, but dust
150ml/5 oz of water
we'll have some sugar, but I don't drink sweet coffee
should be better with sugar than without
let's open the candy - this is apple flavor
these candies are - by the way - made by a company from my hometown
called "Wolność" (freedom) :)
Kofik candies are very hard (or impossible) to buy in a shop
the vit C candies I saw in Leclerc supermarket
and the German Xylitol gum
it has also cleaning function
the chocolate is also unchanged
the CHOCOYOCO brand
comes form a small producer
I tried to buy it in a shop for my Croatiian friends - and I falied
best before 2018
I will take only a piece
I will start tasting with the vit C candy ('Dicky')
it is sweet-sour and has a strong apple flavor
I am surprised -no doubts - it is apple
you can bite/crush it - it is not very hard, inside we have some kind of jelly
very good idea
now -- kofik
kofik contains - sugar, coffee (a lot of coffee) and cream
3 in 1
I like it very much
I know that gundog4314 belongs to the fan club :)
now the real chocolate
this is a very good choice
this chocolate is bitter, but not too bitter
has a high content of cocoa
should be tasty for everybody
this one is very fresh
a sip of the coffee
it has a burnt smell
frankly speaking - after this chocolate
it is hard to judge the coffee
it is not that bitter
as I thought
tastes a bit like chicory?
I will not speak about it, because now my taste is not functioning well
I will finish with the gum
this is peppermint flavor gum
refreshing, not too strong
Thank you very much for your time
it was the review of the new Polish SRG-7 ration
subscribe my channel
and my facebook page - link is down below
see you in the next reviews
there will be also vids in Polish, especially with Polish rations
we have a lot of new Polish rations
Bye!
