Vega Benchmarks, Nvidia Volta, Intel Cannon/Ice/Coffee -- Weekly Download #57 - Duration: 7:13.

Hey Welcome to Zach's Tech Turf and Weekly Download episode number 57, which is my weekly

tech and PC gaming news series.

Today, I'm gonna be playing some Dirty Bomb while I give you this news and I actually

forgot to bring a drink.

Make sure you guys let me know in the comment section what you're sipping on, let's

get into it.

To start off the tech news this week, the embargo on AMD's RX Vega cards has lifted

and we could finally see the true performance of them by all of the popular tech reviewers.

I have Linus's video linked in the description, where I link everything I talk about, but

honestly you'll get the same results from any of your personal favorite YouTubers.

So what exactly did we learn about Vega this week?

Well we learned that AMD's graphics cards are aimed at competing with Nvidia's GTX

1080 and 1070, and certainly won't blow them out of the water.

AMD's brand new GPUs that we've been waiting sooo long for are still only competing with

Nvidia's cards that came out over a year ago, plus, they're not nearly as power efficient.

What do you guys think of these results.

I know a ton of people were expecting these cards to be the new IT cards of 2017, but

honestly, unless you have a high refresh rate FreeSync monitor, like me, then Nvidia is

still definitely an option.

Sound off in the comment section, but spoiler alert, I think when I get home from my deployment

I'm gonna pick one of these up because of my monitor.

In more graphics card news, Nvidia has announced that THEIR new line of graphics cards called

Volta isn't coming anytime soon, which is a bigger bummer than you guys might know,

at least for me.

There have been rumors the entire year about Volta coming out in Q3 or maybe Q4 of this

year, and I desperately wanted that to happen.

As you guys know if you've seen my upcoming military deployment video, I'm gonna be

gone for a few months and I really want to benchmark games for you guys.

I was trying to hold off until the last second to buy a new laptop to bring over there so

I could hopefully benchmark a Volta card for you guys, but that clearly isn't going to

happen.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do now, feel free to leave a suggestion

as to what laptop I should buy, but yea, PC gamer says they don't expect Volta to release

until Spring of next year.

Moving on to processor news now, Intel disclosed their 9th generation CPU line, the 10nm chip

called Ice Lake.

Yea, just last week we talked about how Intel is officially unveiling their Coffee Lake

8th generation on August 21st, and they now already announced the next one as well.

Intel ALSO talked about how there will be a Canon Lake released after coffee lake and

before Ice Lake, as Canon Lake will most likely be their + version of the 8th generation.

Confused yet?

Yea let's just wait until August 21st for more clarification.

Alright so with the PC parts outta the way this week, we gotta talk about RGB right.

Razer announced their newest product to get the RGB treatment this week, and yea, it's

a headset stand.

Most of us definitely thought it was ridiculous when they announced an RGB mouse pad, but

a headset stand, WTF.

The Razer Base Station will cost 60 bucks and functions as a 3 port USB hub which is

nice, and it should start shipping at the end of the year.

You can quote register your interest over on their website now.

Another product that Razer announced this week was their new notebook ambidextrous mouse

called the Atheris.

Razer claims that it has the longest battery life in the world which clocked at 350 hours

on a single charge of 2 AA batteries which is pretty impressive.

The mouse also features a 7,200 DPI optical sensor and has 5 programmable buttons.

It's on sale now for 50 bucks.

And to wrap up the tech news this week, just when we thought Amazon was content becoming

the largest online seller in the world, they announced this week they are adding an Instant

Pickup option.

Amazon will be placing retail outlet like stores around campuses that allow Prime members

to order something on their phones, and their products be ready for pickup in 2 minutes.

Yea, 2 minutes.

Right now they have 5 fully staffed locations near college campuses and they are adding

more throughout the year.

To start off the tech news this week, I'm sure most of you have already heard about

Elon Musk's AI that apparently quote destroyed professional Dota 2 players.

There was a Dota 2 1v1 match setup between one of the best players in the world Dendi

and a bot that was designed by OpenAI, which is a non profit AI research company that's

funded by Elon Musk.

Now although the bot did win convincingly, there are a lot of factors that weigh into

this, but still, very impressive.

You guys know I'm pretty much in the dark when it comes to anything Moba related to

let me know what you guys think about this down in the comments.

Next up, No Man's Sky got another massive update last week and in my opinion, this game

is finally starting to look impressive.

It's been on a 23 dollar Steam sale for a while now which is very tempting, even after

my first refund, as the new update adds 30 hours of new story content, way better graphics,

and some much needed quality of life improvements.

I'm honestly very close to featuring this game on my Gaming On A Sunday morning series,

FYI.

Overwatch is finally getting a deathmatch and team deathmatch version soon, it's actually

already up on the PTR.

On the PTR you can experience Overwatch's new 6v6 race to 30 kills Team Deathmatch or

an 8 player free for all game up to 20 kills.

Both seem much needed as some of us, definitely, definitely like myself, just want to run around

and kill things that are moving without having to worry about playing the objective.

Thank you Blizzard.

And to wrap up the PC gaming news, a 4 year study of 18-30 year olds playing first person

shooter games is finally wrapped up and there may be a possible link between playing them

and losing grey matter in your brain.

The test results suggest that gamers that play at least 6 hours of first person shooters

a week have a lower amount of grey matter in their hippocampus which is the part of

the brain that consolidates information from short term to long term memory, as well as

being used for navigation and orientation.

On the flip side, there was another test that says that playing 3D platform games displayed

growth in the hippocampus.

Good news though, an Oxford University professor with a name that I'm not even gonna try

to pronounce says that we are still years away from these studies actually being proven

and 100% linked, so I would still game on.

Well that wraps up Weekly Download episode number 57.

Make sure you guys check out the 2 videos that I uploaded this week about my collaboration

with Nvidia, they were some pretty dope videos.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed this video, please drop a like down below to help support my

channel, and as always, thank you for watching and please subscribe for more Zach's Tech

Turf videos.

Morar no exterior: Alabama, Estados Unidos ft. Natalie & Daniel Boyette - Duration: 12:45.

What was your first impression when you first came down here?

Very nice people.

Much friendlier, more laid back than the US.

Everybody is, like, they already knew you.

No strangers, sort of situation.

-And great food too! -All right!

Daniel, when we hear about Alabama,

all Brazilian students of English start to shiver because of the accent.

How hard is it for outsiders

to actually grasp the southern accent?

It can be difficult because you can have Americans

from other parts of the United States

who struggle to understand certain aspects of the southern accent

because it can be very strong in certain parts of the south.

So, if someone from New York may have a difficult time

understanding someone from Alabama and vice-versa, -

because the New York area, the northeast also has a very distinct accent

compared to other parts of the US -

so, for a Brazilian, that's doubly difficult

when English is not your first language

and you're trying to pick up that accent from the south.

Ok, so first thing: don't panic!

Take your time! It's gonna take time to get used to that accent.

And I know that Daniel's been very nice to you guys.

How about you turn mean a little bit

just to show them how tough that can be.

I can ask you, like, "Did y'all have fun?"

Very southern accent!

Y'all have fun? What y'all do today? How's your mom-and-dad?

Y'all go to the beach today? How was the water?

Any sharks in the water? Huh? Huh? How was that?

Daniel, over to you now! One positive and one negative difference.

I would say the biggest positive is, something I mentioned earlier,

the people are so outgoing.

It's as if they've never met a stranger. They'll talk to you.

They'll carry on a conversation here in Brazil with you

even if they've never met you.

You'll occasionally experience that in the US,

but most of the time you'll only get a quick "Hello".

If you even get that.

Sometimes you'll pass people in the street

and they just will not recognize that you were there.

So, a lot of friendly folks here.

Ah, one bad…

What would you say?

The Brazilian time is something you really have to adjust to.

Americans are much, much more punctual than Brazilians.

If something starts at 7:00,

the Americans are usually gonna be there at 6:50 or 6:55.

7:01 is late in the United States

whereas here, 7:10, 7:15 everything is good.

We got visitors yesterday at nine! Nine!

And Daniel as like, "Weren't they coming at 8?"

-and I was like, "They're late!" -Dinner starts much later.

-Exactly! -Bedtime is much later in Brazil,

I mean… Our wedding ended at 3 in the morning!

That's a lot later than a wedding would end in the US.

-Our Brazilian wedding. -Our Brazilian wedding

ended at 3 in the morning.

Our American wedding was in the afternoon so done by 5 PM!

Let's put it this way: we are somewhat more flexible

as to the meaning of the "fashionably late" expression.

-Yes! -How about that?

-Exactly! -Ok!

Steve Bannon Comes to Trump's Defense on Charlottesville: A Closer Look - Duration: 7:30.

-Donald Trump's presidency is in a tailspin

after his response to Charlottesville,

which means once again,

his aides are privately wringing their hands

while staying silent in public

with one exception, Steve Bannon,

who is coming to his defense.

For more on this, it's time for "A Closer Look."

♪♪

[ Cheers and applause ]

Of course, the president has come under tremendous criticism

for his response to Charlottesville,

but apparently, for some of Trump's aides,

the problem was not that he defended white supremacists,

but that he said it out loud in front of the cameras.

-Well, aides in the West Wing were frustrated, exasperated,

even stunned, but not quite surprised.

They were sort of stunned that he would go out

and say this publicly.

-So Trump's staff isn't upset he's a racist.

They're upset we found out about it.

And of course we found out about it.

Donald Trump is terrible at keeping secrets.

Trump would never last in "Fight Club."

[ As Trump ] They have this club.

It is so tremendous.

And they have -- they have a first rule.

Should I tell you the first rule?

I shouldn't tell you.

Don't talk about Fight Club.

It's the first rule.

[ Normal voice ] For his part, Trump almost seemed relieved

to have finally gotten off his chest how he really feels.

In fact, those close to him say he's happy

about how his Tuesday press conference turned out.

-With the country and his own administration reeling

from President Trump's shocking remarks

about the Charlottesville, Virginia, violence,

sources tell CNN that the president is "without regret."

-Of course he is.

Trump is incapable of feeling regret.

Trump feels regret as often as he feels Melania's touch.

[ Laughter ]

And Politico...

[ Cheers and applause ]

Politico reported yesterday

that Trump had lashed out mainly out of anger,

and that his notorious temper was driving his behavior.

So basically, all the things

that happen to a president every day.

Seriously, Trump's aides talk about him

like he's a caged gorilla at the zoo,

which would explain this sign outside the oval office.

[ Laughter ]

[ As Trump ] Did you hear that? Did you hear that?

Am I the only one who heard that?

[ Normal voice ] So now, Trump's presidency

is once again facing a crisis,

which means it's time for the well-worn ritual

of Trump allies and Republican leaders

not courageously speaking out,

but rather quietly wringing their hands

and leaking to reporters that they are frustrated and upset.

-The Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell,

is privately upset

with the president's handling of the episode.

-Now, one person who is frustrated

with how today played out?

Chief of Staff John Kelly.

-This from Glen Thrush at The New York Times,

who's now reporting that Gary Cohn,

who is the NEC chair, who is Jewish, was "disgusted"

and "upset" by Trump's comments on white nationalists.

-So they're disgusted, but not quitting.

Trump is turning every Republican

into Gollum from "Lord of the Rings."

I support the president and his agenda.

[ Imitating Gollum ] No! He's a crazy racist!

He's gonna get us all killed!

[ Clears throat ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Normal voice ] And then there are the two people

who were supposed to be

a moderating influence on Trump --

his son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka.

Where were they during all this?

According to The New York Times,

Ivanka and Kushner urged Trump to take a more moderate stance.

But a with so many other

critical moments in Trump's presidency...

Oh, that is Bernie Sanders' worst nightmare --

His home state infiltrated

by a millionaire and a billionaire.

Also, how often do these two go on vacation?

Every time something goes haywire

in the Trump administration,

it seems like they're nowhere to be found.

When Don Jr.'s e-mails with the Russian lawyer

surfaced in July,

they were at a conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.

When Trump was nearing the 100-day milestone

with no accomplishments to showcase,

they were in Whistler, Canada, for a Passover ski trip.

That's right. A Passover ski trip.

I hope they left a seat open for Elijah.

[ Laughter ]

[ Applause ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Cheers and applause soften ]

[ Cheers and applause get louder ]

But not all of Trump's aides and allies

tried to distance themselves

from Trump's unhinged press conference.

There's also Trump's chief strategist, Steve Bannon,

whose ties to white nationalists are well known,

which is odd because no one disproves the idea

that white people are a master race

more than Steve Bannon.

Look at him.

If he tried to do a Nazi salute, he would throw his back out.

He looks like the discarded skin suit

used by the alien from "Men In Black."

[ Laughter ]

[ Applause ]

-Bannon --

Bannon was apparently delighted

that the president defended white supremacists.

In fact, in a rare on-the-record interview yesterday,

Bannon gleefully celebrated the fact

that the national conversation has been dominated

by the white supremacist rally and the ensuing outrage.

He said this to the American prospect about the Democrats.

Hey, man, are you trying to sound evil?

I guess it's no coincidence

that you look like Kuato from "Total Recall."

Shout-out, Andy Samberg.

[ Applause ]

[ Laughs ]

And on top of that, Bannon was defiant

when asked about his rivals within the White House.

When asked about the more moderate,

business friendly wing of the Trump administration

that opposes him, Bannon said...

To be fair, you'd wet yourself, too,

if you saw Steve Bannon.

He's the guy you see in a horror movie

when you close the medicine cabinet.

[ Laughter ]

Now, the timing

of Bannon's sudden publicity tour is interesting

because with Trump's new Chief of Staff John Kelly

trying to put an end

to White House chaos and infighting

and after the nearly universal criticism

of Trump's Charlottesville response,

word started to spread that Bannon's job was in jeopardy.

-If Steve Bannon was ever in jeopardy,

you know, this would be the time

when he would be in the maximum jeopardy.

-Bannon knows he's fighting for his job.

-Steve Bannon allies,

they do say this feels very grim for him.

It's a bad moment. The death watch feels real.

-The articles on Mr. Bannon

calling him kind of an exile within the West Wing.

Here's The New York Times, "Bannon in Limbo."

-I don't know if he can limbo,

but I'll bet he's been found under the bar a few times.

[ Laughter ]

We have a White House paralyzed by chaos,

a president who defends white supremacists,

and a chief strategist who gleefully eggs him on.

GOP leaders and Trump aides who say they're disgusted

have to actually do something to stop this

because as of now this guy might be the president,

but he's got this guy lurking right behind him.

This has been "A Closer Look."

[ Cheers and applause ]

Games You Should Know - Ghostbusters (Sega Genesis, 1990) - Duration: 13:43.

hey folks and welcome to the next games you should know episode today were joined by

Curtis I am Terence Andrew and

What are we playin? We're playing some genesis! We're going to play some ghostbusters

GYSK is no longer pg-rated after this game.

Yeah, we're gonna interview Andrew here because he's the one who suggested this game

Yeah, played a lot of this game growing up with my cousins Sheldon stephen and aaron small big shout out to you guys

Thanks for letting me play so much of this on your sega genesis, so much fun!

Now what's this game all about? gotta catch some ghosts man!

Anyone who knows ghostbusters like you just you have to make money you guys are a business

you're trying to earn money to buy new gear to Catch Crazier ghosts as well as

That's all that's happening here in this game and the reason why it's game

you should know is you get the megaman feel like you can just select a level right off the hop and

you can see how much each is worth and that castle crazy thing in the background is the actually the last boss sorta thing

who's the guy on the left?

that's mister bill murray over there big fan of the movie? got any bill Murray fans here? who isn't a bill murray fan?

exactly right, so

You know his likeness. I think is used in this game pretty solidly actually pretty sweet ass game

So I'm just gonna jump on in here

you can select any level off the hop gonna go to home sweet home here first

Talking about how her whole house is going Crazy bill murray got it covered don't worry

That meant there's one middle ghost

this looks fun, not gonna lie looks somewhat like duke nukem good controls

What's really cool is you know you fight these crazy.. this is a midboss for this level actually

dont ask me what that guy is sposed to be but I'll just like in the movie you gotta like take them out and

Then you got to kind of capture that ghost than you earn money if you actually catch the ghost

Which I'm i am getting beat up pretty hard here. almost out of lives here

I have to turn it up

Yeah no worries

Now you try to capture that ghost

Which is harder than it looks?

You know going into the trap?

That I got he'd gone oh

if I actually caught him i'd earn a bit more money, but

Then I'm not very good at this Game You Should Know .. that's a neat concept though. Oh

Yeah, I mean, you know that right all this bonus monies makes big difference in this game, you get a lot of your weapons and items and stuff

We up to blah blah blah this boss guy is actually pretty tough

Like how I was like okay, you can go prone. That's pretty dang. It's like in Modern day call of duty right here

or you can backwards or to the front?.that's awesome. Oh

you did it? let's hope? he gone!

Yeah, I think you keep your characters you had a couple alive, and then you can't use that character anymore

You can use every character, but this guy is all around

But Egon.. Raymond..

these guys are Faster have more Stamina, or

She gives you two Gs flat! boom!

So you got some money here, then actually similar to our raptor call the shadows when I got 3,000 bucks so I can buy this

bubble projectile thing? bubble projectile?

What does it do I don't know but something I?

would hope so

and if you get three levels left

Quickly do another one so I just get out money is how much is nice how much he earned from beating that level year

leave it up to the Ghostbusters

There's two middle ghosts lots of money. They earn in this way well, you know what I like about these gun game 5

Bring to the action with momentum

What how much closer to need to be I'll be right on it man i'm tellin ya

That's pretty tough man.

Yes, why to here folks is more engine this video?

i think theres like this tentacle thing

a bomb? come on thats pretty cheap

camping? bubblegun.. oh you had a chance there... right now!

and gone

So any other things we want to talk about keep the conversation going here on the GYSK episode

this is a game you should know people want to know I dont like how it stops you when you look up though

yeah its a very tough game

Hold on

so the high rise level yes. Yes, so the major fans of the game you all recognize this one

ok the story starts like this

imagine that I was born in JERICO

Jerico is a litle town of the state of Antioquia

and Antioquia is in colombia, and Colombia in latin america etc...

ok so

I was born there and in those town people used to

rise chickens

to rise chickens and ...

they killed and eat it something very normal

I don't know if they still do it

and ofcourse in my house there was chickens

so my mom raise them and killed them

one day

she was killing chikens in the kitchen

so I went there without been invited

and I was checking

so when I arrive my mom finished to kill one chickenn

so

it was very cruel the way they killed them with the head....

so I touched the chicken thinking it was dead

and that chicken move and make a start to make like this

so I start to scream and run

so here is where my problems started with this animal called chickens

ok in this moment was when I started to be complete scared of this animals

I know that you laugh because who's scared of chickens?

well I do

I'll tell you some embarrassing experience

that I have had with chickens

one day

when I was in 8 grade in high school we had group homework

you know in high school there's many homework like this

so we went to the house of a friend with my other mates

we were there very normal

so we were like in a desk

ok the first time I was in the house she had a litle pink chicken

I don't know how is possible to have this kind of this haha

but here they create many things

the first time I was there it was very small but when we was there to make the homework

of course I knew she had the litle kitchen but in my mind it was small

ofcourse I was scared but not too much

and ofcourse she knew I was scared of this animal

because the first time I was there she asked me to hold the chicken and ofcourse I said NO

so

when I was there the second time we were normal everything good bla bla

in her house were her mom

her sister

4 for the homework

I don't remember who else was there

so we arrive and sit in the desk

I was very normal

when that chickens comes out of a room

it wasn't small it all it was big big one

it was very big and start to walk where we were

I was very uncomfortable

because I with chickens like you with a snake

the animal your most scare about

that's how I feel with chickens

I was there watching that chicken

and ofcourse you know you can scare the chickens

but well the chicken continues there

when we started to disscusse

about the homework because the owner of the house wanted to do it in a diferent way

I can't remember good why we disscusse

so she took that kitchen like this

she took the kitchen and I was infront of her and she was doing like this with the chicken to me

she wanted to throw the chick to me

she didn't because of the chick not for me

I was playing like this was very scare

so I stared to run and she was behind me with that chick

I was hiding behind her mom just imagine how crazy it was

it was so embarrasing

it was very crazy

after her mom put her in her place so she gave up the chick

and her mother told me many things

and her father omg "sebastian a man can't be afraid of chickens

impossible a man be scare of this animals

they made me feel very bad hahahah it was crazy

I was destroid when I got out of this house it was so embarrasing

ok that was one

the second one

it was

my father was working in her Jerico after we come to live in medellin

so I went to passed hollydays with him

so my father told me to stay in the house of family friend of him

it was a normal familly parents and 2 children

so they give an incredible service very good atention

I was very happy there

then my father told me tomorrow I go for you at 8 am

to go to travel because he was working driving a big truck

so I said ok very nice to travel

I arrived to the house of the people in the night so ofcourse I didn't see anything

I was like a king there

I was in the bed

but at the other day around 5 am

listed my father was going for me at 8 am and it was around 5 am everybody was sleeping

so I heard a song

I was like what's happening

so I started to wake up and the door of the room where I was

was short it disn't finished in the floor

you know what happen?

it was a Rooster and he goes inside

a Rooster where I was sleeping

so just imagine this just happends to me

even to me that I'm afraid of them

I was so scared

so I just stand up in the bed

and that rooster goes very fast under de bed

imagine how scared I was I remember I took a pillow for my defensive

I was there with the pillow just ready

so that animal there it was there I din't know what do to

just traying to scare him

my face change of many color trusth me

just imagine a situation you with a big snake under your bed

I was very very scare

and everybody was sleeping

I was like I can't wake up them because this is not my what I'm going to do

so I started to move the bed

so that animals goes out very fast and he wasn't able to get out whe finally he go it

I was like omg I can't stay here

so I put my shoes on and goes out very slow and I let all my things there

now the big problem how can I get out of this place?

it was like a robber very very slow I didn't wanted that animal to see me

so I open that door I didn't see him and I went runing hahaha

so when I get out I found my father in my way

because he was just going for the truck

so he asked what happened

so he laughs about me the entire road

at the end they give my things to my father

and the family apologize to me but it wasn't their fault because they didn't know

so for the people that asked me why I'm scared of chickens

in the salento's video

now you know why

that is my biggest phobia

my entire family knows it my friends knows it

when it's some performcance or things with chickens I never go

if I see a chicken in my road I never passed for that place

my phobia for this is very big
