Welcome to ForB's Enlish learning video.

My name is Richard and today we have a special collaboration tasting video

with our special guest from Thailand.

His name is Pie.

Hello ForB English!

This is Pie Sensei from Englogic.

Thank you for doing this cross tasting with us and last week you sent us

three of your selections of ramen noodles, cup noodles, and we sent you ours.

I've got your package right here and they are very, very lovely.

Let me show them to the camera real quick.

This one, the big one is the Yokohama Walker flavor.

I don't know what that is... um, orange stuff flavor.

And this is my favorite, hot lady with black cat flavor.

I think Thai men would love this one.

Well, we sent you our traditional tom yum kung... uh, which is called in English,

the lemon grass with soup, shrimp lemon grass soup.

And tom klong, in English this is spicy and sour soup, usually with smoked meat.

And last but not least, lemon pork or moo manao in Thai.

Enjoy!

Let me know how they taste.

And we'll be trying three of his noodles, instant noodles, Thailand noodles,

also from Vietnam.

And today we also have some special guests.

Hello my name is Takehito.

My channel is about world traveling and so on.

Please subscribe to me.

And next on my left, Hi my name is Naoyuki from ForB English.

Thank you very much for watching our videos, all the time.

Great!

Alright, now let's take a look at what, uh, Pie had sent us...

Alright let's take a look inside at what Pie has sent us.

Alright let's take a look at this first package.

I think it, it might be...

Oh it says here in English, shrimp, creamy tom yum.

Yes tom yum flavor.

Mama cup it says.

Alright the next one is.. there is no, okay here it is on the back in English.

I guess it's made by Waiwai.

It's the quick tom klong flavor.. and yes tom klong flavor.

Quick, Quick Q.. I guess.

Quick Q means the Quick, so that's on there.

Okay, let's take a look at the next package.

I don't see any English..

Okay this is Cup Noodles.

Their version, Thailand's version of Cup Noodles.

And the flavor is covered by the price.

Moo manao flavor.

So this is Thai's version of Cup Noodles.

It's a Japanese company but their version of Thai noodles.

Alright so we are..

Thank you.. uh, Pie for sending us these noodles and we are looking forward and very excited

to try these.. yes!

Alright, the first, uh.. noodles we will try from Thailand or instant noodles are the moo manao.

We don't know what that means but it's Cup Noodles.

This is the Thai version from the Japanese company.

Alright, so let's open it up.

It looks the same.

Oh yeah, take this out.

This is probably, I don't know.. later, after... dried, dried noodles.

Just typical dried noodles... a fork.

Inside is, yeah.. inside is a fork.

Let me take that out... pull it out.

Interesting.

They don't have this in Japan.

It's a foldable fork.

Okay.

Yeah, this is very convenient.

Interesting to put a fork.

Let's pour the water in to here.

Pour it to the line.

Stop, Stop.. oh okay.

Sorry..It's okay.

No problem.

Alright let's cover the top.

That's a good smell..

Now we wait.

Wait a few minutes.

Alright.

We got this all ready to go.

We are about to taste it.

Smells like a lemon.

Yeah.. it has a lemony smell.

Thai smell.

Thai smell.

So this is the again moo manao.

So let's give it a try.

Ummm.

Lime and lemon combo I feel.

Lime flavor.. not too spicy.. a little spicy.

Kind of a sour, lime taste.

Noodles are smooth, not too oily.

Tasty.

So as you can see in Japan, it's okay to slurp noodles.

But in a western country, you usually don't make any noise.. eating noodles.

But here in Japan and in other Asian countries, very acceptable. Yes.

It's tasty.

Tasty. Strong lime, lemon. Yes, very strong lime.

A little bit spicy.

Yeah, with a little spice.

Not too salty.. not too salty.

Alright, next is the.. uh, tom klong... flavor.

So he said that there were two kinds, right?

Tom yung and tom klong.

I'm not sure what the flavor is.. as you can see here tom klong.

Q is for quick.

So I'm not sure what.. how this is going to taste.

Looks very spicy. Yes.

Alright let's give it a try... tom klong.

Alright, again, another fork.

Okay, it's the fork.

It's got the uh.. oil.

This is ...

I don't know. Look dangerous.

Very hot. Ha-ha. Spicy, but we'll give it a try.

Let's pour the water in.

I searched tom klong. Yeah.

Tom klong is uh, fish.

Fish. Kind of fish. I think so.

Smoked fish?

Smoked. Smoked fish. Smoked fish.

Maybe smoked fish.

Maybe smoked fish?

Yes.

Maybe uh smoked fish.

You notice too, the uh.. cup has these little railings which is a nice design.

I've never seen a plastic cup and outside you can hold it while it's hot

as it has these ridges.

Alright, we're going to add the spice and flavors to this.

We don't know which one goes first.

Put the red stuff in first.

Ohhhhhh.

And looks very spicy. Ha-ha.

Dangerous!

Very dangerous spice and pieces of oil that you see.

Ahhh..

Chili.

A lot of chili.

So maybe the red.. this is the chili.. kinda scary. Ha-ha...

We'll give it a try here.

More soup.. really.

Ohhhh... red. Ha-ha...

Alright, we are back and so a red color soup.

Very dangerous.

This is the tom klong.

So uh.. very scared here to eat this uh tom klong flavor. Let's give it a try.

I'll try. Alright.

Oh.

Not so bad.

Ahhh.. hot.

Is it?

Spicy.

Yeah, it's okay.

It's alright.. yeah, yeah.

It's kind of a strong, strong taste.

Oily, oily, salty.

See if has any uh... spicy but good.. good, good, good.

It has bits of little fish, maybe.. inside.

Tiny bit of fish.

A little sour.

Yeah, a little sour.. not too bad.

Ahhhh hot!

Really?

Yes, spicy.. very delicious, tasty.

Not too bad, maybe spicier than the last one.

Yeah, the bottom of the soup is very spicy.

So far, this has been the spiciest one.

Alright, on to the last one.

Let's finish with the top three.

This is their very famous tom yum... shrimp creamy tom yum.

Says here on the top it's Thailand best.

Alright, so let's, uh try this.

Tom yum is very delicious.

I'm still feeling hot from the last. I think for Japanese it's so hot.

This is the last one and this is the shrimp, creamy tom yum.

Alright, looks very creamy.

It has some coconuts.

Yes.. a coconut smell there.

Lemongrass? Yeah.

Yes.

Sour.

Hot.

Hot, spicy.

Spicy? Good.

Too spicy, sour.

Sour taste. Hot.

Hot.

It's spicy.

Anyway, we are all quite because it's spicy so concentrating on it.

It's very tasty.

The soup is maybe, maybe coconuts based.

I like this taste but a bit spicy, not a bit... spicy.

Really?

I think that the last one, the tom klong was.. is a little more spicy.

Maybe my mouth has adjusted to the taste.

Number one hot.

Oh really?

Strong lemon grass flavor.

Maybe this one is the spiciest even more than the tom klong.

Alright, so.. uh.. ah yes one more.

This is uh, special noodles from Vietnam... not from Pie.

From, yes, Takehito.

Brought these from Vietnam, yeah?

I think tom yum flavor.

Maybe tom yum flavor, so let's uh, give this a try.

We are gonna, these are different kinds of instant noodles, so we are gonna use this special dish.

Actually in Japan, you can, uh.. put the water and the noodles and flavors together in here,

and use a microwave, so it's a very handy dish.

So this is only one hundred yen.

And uh, instead of boiling it, you can use this.

The lid has some holes to let the hot air through.. It's very nice.

Alright, so let's try these Vietnam noodles.

So we put hot water, we still have to microwave it.

Microwave it while we wait a few minutes. He'll be back.

So let's give it a try and see how it tastes.

Smells spicy.

Yeah, clear soup. A clear soup?

The noodles are the same as the other ones, yeah, a little brown and white noodle.

Ha-ha. Delicious. Ha-ha.

Ummm, very delicious.

Very, yeah, a little spicy.. sour, sour..salty, a little bit salty.

Taste is not too strong.

Shrimp flavored I guess because the package is shrimp so I'm guessing it's shrimp, shrimp flavored.

This has a little bit of a smaller noodle compared to the Thai instant noodles.

Thinner, you can see.

A little sour, yes.. it has a little bit of a sour taste.

A little bit spicy.

Decide the best one.

So have you decided your favorite?

Favorite?

Mmmm. Thai in the Thai.. yeah, the Thai, out of the three which one do you like.

I like this. Oh, Okay.

Number one.

Uhhh, I guess I choose this one.

Oh really?

Yeah, I liked this.

Not too spicy, maybe that's why.

How about you?

I like this one.

Ohhhh. Actually.

The most, the spiciest...ohh yes.. but creamy, tasty. Creamy taste is good.

Traditional Thai food flavor.

Addicted.. addicted to the taste. Yes.

Typical Thai taste. So yes, and yeah we would like to thank Pie

for sending us these three great Thai noodles, instant noodles.

And they were pretty spicy but we were very excited, yes to try these very delicious Thai noodles.

Thank you everyone for joining us as well and for learning about how foods taste

and how soups taste, different words of how to describe these kinda soups.

Alright so we are looking forward to seeing you again back at this channel.

Any last words?

Mmmm.. no. No? Okay. You alright?

Alright hope to see you back and remember to subscribe to our channel and

my name is Richard and I will see you again.

Yes! Bye! Bye!

Singing with Chest Dominant vs Head Dominant Mix - Duration: 8:58.

Today I received this question from a subscriber to PowerToSing.com.

He was told by a voice teacher that there were two kinds of Mix: Chest Dominant Mix

and Head Dominant Mix.

He sent me an example of each one and asked if he was doing them correctly.

Frankly, I was confused by the question and after listening to his examples I could hear

he was confused too.

Inside this video, I'll share his demonstration of singing Chest Dominant vs Head Dominant

Mix and I'll give you my analysis.

Hi, I'm Chuck Gilmore with Power To Sing.

The cause of my confusion is that "Chest Dominant Mix" or "Head Dominant Mix"

attempts to describe a sound.

I'm guessing from the description that it is a mix voice whose main, leading sound is

very chest-like, or a mix voice whose main, leading sound is very head-like.

But does that mean pulling up chest voice into the area that should be mix?

Or bringing down head voice where mix normally is?

What do you mean by mix?

Do you mean on all notes or just the high pitches or the low pitches?

Are you talking about light chest.

What do you mean head voice?

Do you see the trouble here?

Defining vocal "sounds" is very subjective.

Defining vocal sounds using the words, "chest", "head", "dominant", and "mix"

can result in endless confusion because these words mean different things to each of us.

What sounds like "chest dominant mix" to you may sound like "pulled-up chest"

voice with no head voice to me.

What sounds like "head dominant mix" to you may sound like a "breathy high larynx"

to me.

And even if we agreed 100% on the definition of the words, what each of us thinks it sounds

like will be different.

And what about the pitches and the loudness?

How does that change the sound.

So we have endless opinions to infinity and beyond!

Perhaps a better way is to describe objectively what is happening physically.

First, let's listen to the demos of these two.

Which do you think is which?

In the first example I believe he's working for a Chest Dominant Mix.

In the "Chest Dominant Mix" demo the loud volume caused the vocal cords to be over compressed

and tight.

As a result chest resonance was pulled higher along with the larynx.

This caused the vocal cords to break on the Ab4 and the pitch to be flat on the A4.

There is some head resonance.

The second example he's striving for "Head Dominant Mix".

In this demo he's singing softer.

The vocal cords are not adducting firmly and crack or flip on almost each scale.

Also there is much more air escaping through the vocal cords.

This may also be contributing to breaks in the tone as he does the exercise.

The cords are in and out of disconnected falsetto and connected tone throughout the exercise.

The goal is a balance of air and vocal cord muscle, with the resonance shifting naturally

and the cords adjusting appropriately in the correct pitches.

This will allow the voice to function optimally in all registers of the voice.

When trying to produce a specific kind of sound we almost always add too much tension,

over or under adduct the vocal cords, sing too loud, pull the larynx up or induce other

physical actions that cause the voice to be imbalanced.

Rather than trying to create two kinds of mix, I recommend developing a balanced voice.

This will cause an ideal mix.

With time this will give you a mix that is powerful and/or gentle when the music and

emotion call for it.

It is one mix that has the ability to serve every musical and artistic demand.

I made the same mistakes with my voice.

I wanted a more powerful voice, so I added this sound.

[Demo] It took me years to get rid of it.

For my friend above here's the way I'd do that exercise: [Demo] Do it medium volume.

Just bratty enough to keep the vocal cords together throughout

the exercise.

I would say the "Ney" quickly so as to get to the "e" part of "Ney" quickly.

It will encourage head voice.

When this becomes easy, then do it less bratty and less bratty until you can do a normal

"ney".

Then do it with "No" and "Mum".

Work for an easy balance of air and vocal cord muscle.

This is the way to real power in your mix.

[Demo Power and Gentle]

If you liked this video give it a thumbs up, subscribe, and share it with a friend.

What about you?

Have you added stuff to your voice that you're trying to eliminate?

Tell me about it in the comments section below.

A fast way to begin eliminating unwanted stuff in your voice is to take the vocal test and

get your vocal type.

Do you know your vocal type?

Go to PowerToSing.com and take the vocal test, which I call the PowerTest.

Take the quiz and discover your vocal type.

Then visit the Knowledge Center and watch the videos about your vocal type.

Download the free exercises and start practicing them.

They'll help you progress rapidly.

I'm Chuck Gilmore with Power To Sing.

You can sing higher with beauty, confidence and power.

I'll see you inside the next video.

WIP TAG | sharp hollows [CC] - Duration: 7:13.

Hey guys, what's up? It's Lainey and today I'm doing a writing tag video

I wanted to do a writing tag video because I haven't been doing my

writing vlogs. I kind of explained this in my previous video. It just... I mentally was not

motivated for the past few months

with filming. I have been doing a lot and it feels weird that you guys don't know what's been up with

my progress in Sharp Hollows, but I thought this would be the perfect tag to kind of make up for not

bringing you guys on... I did the fourth draft. This is the work-in-progress tag this was created by Author Jessi Elliott

I'll link her information down below and I was actually tagged on this video by Louise from

Targaryen Princess. Both of their info is down below we'll check them out. They're great great writing YouTube channels

I love their videos. Question number one is

What is the working title for your novel? Mine is Sharp Hollows.

It's been that way from pretty much the get-go. It's one of those titles where I feel fits the story right now however

I'm sure there's probably a lot of other titles that fits the story as well

But this is just what I've been working with. In the deeper meaning the sense

I really like the word "sharp" because it's kind of cutthroat. It's very

quick and hard to me when I say it and then "hollows" kind of describe the characters.

Right now they are all kind of hollow

It's in the sense that they're all wanting something and in the course of the book they hopefully

maybe, maybe not will get the thing that they want and thus no longer be hollow. Question number two is

Where did the idea of the book come from?

I love this question because mine came from one of my favorite movies of all time. The Mummy. The good one.

I don't know if I was talking to Kennia because this is Kennia's and I like, favorite movie.

We've watched it together already like three times in the course of our friendship

and that's just like watching it and texting each other our reactions. One of my favorite characters in The Mummy is

Ardeth Bay and him in the Medjai are kind of like the bodyguards of

Imhotep like they don't want him to wake up, the creature -- that's what they call him.

I was like thinking really long and hard about this group of people, and I was like wow, what do they do and they're not

guarding Hamunaptra? What are they doing...

with their lives? Do they have families? Do they have wives? Do they have kids? I don't know, are they celibate?

I was just kind of thinking more and more about it, but then I was thinking

what if one of them didn't want to be a bodyguard anymore? And that was the inspiration for the first character

I thought of which is Dove and he's a bodyguard that decides to not guard a

tomb of a dead king anymore. That was kind of the inspiration

jumping-off point of

Sharp Hollows, I'm very very inspired by what I watch. I think I can probably trace everything I've ever written back to

something I've watched so I'm a very visual person. Question number three is

What genre does your book fall under? This book is a YA fantasy.

Question number four is what actors would you choose for a movie adaptation of your book? This question is really hard.

Sometimes I have like really clear ideas of what each character is...

celebrity-wise, but for this one. It was like really difficult for me

I do have a pinterest board that I will link down below. I do have faces on

there that kind of inspire me. Question number five is what is one sentence synopsis of your book? I do have one

on my blog, which you should

check out when you have the time. My one sentence synopsis is:

When a courtesan meets a rogue guard of a dead king's tomb, she and her crew go to a land with magic and dead gods

in hopes of restoring her disgraced family's name. Question number six is

Will your book be

Self-published or traditionally published. I hope to have it traditionally published. I don't have anything against self-publishing, but I just feel like I can't get

my book out there as much as a publishing company can and I just always have wanted to be traditionally published.

That's pretty much what all of my writing vlogs have been

about as me in my journey of becoming traditionally published. Question number seven is

How long did it take you to write the first draft? First draft took me five months. I started it in November of

2016, which was NaNoWriMo and I finished it

in

April? April. Yeah, finished it the first couple days of Camp Nanowrimo. Question number eight is

What other books would you compare the story to? My comp titles for it... which is in my query letter is

The Mummy meets

Indiana Jones by the means of Six of Crows. I do have a large cast of characters like in Six of Crows.

But there's also a lot of treasure hunting that you can see in Indiana Jones and the kind of atmospheric

setting of The Mummy which is all in my book. Question number nine is who or what

inspired you to write this book? I think it was me. I mean, I just

had this idea, and I knew I wanted to do it. It had all the elements that I love in storytelling.

I had the idea in September

for this book so it's like almost been a year since these characters have lived in my head

and that's just really special because these characters

mean more to me than any other characters have ever written. I also know this in one of my previous vlogs that for me

there's a point where I wasn't just writing it for myself anymore, I was writing it to honor the characters that I created.

Question number ten is what other things about your book might pique readers interest? It's also #ownvoices for biracial

representation. Two of the main characters who are sisters, they are light-skinned biracials, which is what I am.

I also have a lot of representation and diversity in the book. One my characters is deaf,

A lot of the characters are dark-skinned. One of those characters is a lesbian. I have a desert journey, I have

kind of like... not so much hate to love, but it's like a teasing

to attraction, maybe? One of the inspirations for one of my other main characters, Romy, who's

probably bias-ly my favorite because I just love her. I always see these books with

courtesans in it. If you don't what a courtesan is, it's just a nicer French term to say prostitute.

And I've always felt like I want to see a main character

be that, so, I did that. I've really grounded family relations in here. While I do have a lot of found family

aspects in the book, at the core, I feel like it's the sibling relationships between

Romy, her sister, their brothers that really is the heart of the story and I really like that.

Have I said enough? But those are all the questions. I hope you guys enjoyed this video, and I will see you guys very soon, bye!
