Aftermath of "going out" #SpoonieLife - Duration: 11:56.

hey you it's Evie :) all right you guys I know I look like death right now and it

sounds like I just woke up but I didn't um

you know most of you most of you probably know that we had a little

outing natan and I mean I went to a concert thing and we were serving for

the whole weekend I thought was just gonna be two days so I had to figure out

how I was gonna survive three days this is how I'm surviving so I was actually

starting to throw my face on and I was gonna record a different video today but

honestly you guys today I need to chill so um I am gonna throw on my face mask I

like this one right here and I just thought while I do that I'll chat with

you guys and tell you how it all went is a new coffee cup I got from dad

Nicole it's like the one if you follow me on Instagram it's like the one Nate

got me I mean it changes colors depending if it's hot or cold there was

some really good songs at his concert I like all sorts of music but I really

really really love like old rock classic rock hard rock music but there was it

wasn't the greatest lineup I mean they were good but it wasn't like ac/dc you

know what my super super favorites but there was pop evil

my mind is just down here today I'm recording off of a laptop well it's kind

of backwards when I'm looking at it so I got you in the bathroom to look at my

mess I've so much laundry so much laundry

from over the weekend it's just crazy it was fun and we had a really good spot

where we were camping there's so many people out there is crazy what was I

saying yeah we were right in the center of it all okay so I wasn't um as much

walking cooperate not the downfall that was that

meant that it was noisy all the time you know I get I get up during I get up to

2:30 every weekday every weekday so it was not setting the alarm

so we all could sleep this is really we're trying to do it I'm looking at the

laptop I got the mirror over there I got you in the bathroom sink yeah lots of

laundry but I had to shut that dryer off because I didn't want you guys to hear

all that loud racket dad is gonna be dropping off the kids really soon here

it's about 10 o'clock this morning I got up late I got up at 4:00 this morning

3:00 3:30 this morning or so something like that uh-huh but I have a video that

I've been wanting to film I just wanted to get permission first so I'll be doing

that question for you guys I think I'm looking less scary this way

a question for you guys know you know how some of you I have asked for me to

share some cheap dinner ideas or whatever not crap I got over my hair

it'll wear off um would you like me to post that here on this channel or should

I post it on the other channel that's what I need to know so you know what

should we call it like a certain kind of series so I can make sure to put that in

a playlist for you guys you know hearing from you guys about that that would be

very helpful I'd really appreciate that because I do have one that I'm trying to

get all edited no I didn't get plowed at the concert thing this weekend I don't

think I could even if I wanted to it just was weird like the body was like in

sleep mode the whole time and I was having tremor

I'm in my leg when they really really bad and there's just so much standing

and too much stand too much standing it too much walking it was just a bit too

much he'll everybody else feet hurt and it wasn't done and they're all good and

healthy so I tried saying as much as I possibly could you know a certain thing

comes up birthday party whatever it is it's like you're halfway you're already

half empty by the time you're ready for it you know what I mean

got your stuff packed get yourself ready it was a lot this weekend I have a piece

of hair in my face in its drive I mean that's you all you see it there you know

stuff smells weird but it does really help I know some of you if I've also

asked me to do a video like how I make my eyes look so less puffy because you

see they're really puffy I thought this would be a good reminder of you guys

remember take the time and chill every coupe like this was a crazy crazy

weekend it's just I'm just so worn out you know right away I'm worried about

you know everything washed and doing this and doing that and cleaning the

house because I wasn't able to finish cleaning up the house like I want to you

know it's really nice to come home to a clean house when you've been gone I

don't know maybe that's just me but I keep this mask on for like 20 minutes

dry your necks otherwise I keep touching it and messing with it it's a reminder

for you guys no membrane some things can just wait it's not gonna hurt it to keep

it on the back burner for a little bit you know you're not burning out yourself

that much more and then you're stuck in bed you're really ain't gonna get

nothing done so little reminder for you so that's

I'm doing today uh who knows maybe later I feel um more up to filming a video but

you guys if I could just go to bed I tried taking a nap and phone calls and

messages it wasn't happening so yeah I just gets to a point like screw it I

might as well stay up that's why I was mama should be calling me so on it's

usually cost me every morning I haven't talked to her so much cuz it was just

like I said crazy out there Sunday we were planning on being home

pretty early so we can me and me can you have some time to relax together before

Monday today starts but dad this wreck Rock Calling crawling thing going on it

was really cool to watch Lee

I couldn't believe how easy it is for those things to tip over though it was

really cool to watch but it was like their first time doing it so there was

like a half every time one flipped over it was like 20 30 minute wheel I swear

it's actually falling asleep while watching I never fall asleep but those

kind of things oh you see it's there to cool down now

all right you guys I should probably end it here those kiddos hear me come in so

I'm really excited to see them this something is a mom it's like you can't

wait to finally get a little bit of time to yourself and then once you do you

can't help but think about the kids the whole time she had that's me so I'm

really looking forward to seeing them got lots going on this week I got an

enrolled sander in school he was supposed to last week but they didn't

send the papers out like they were supposed to

long story there Gracie is gonna be starting school soon - trying to get

appointments eye appointments and stuff then this acquaintance everything all

done before school starts so but I hope you guys are doing well make sure you

let you go then but thanks so much if a couple of you have stayed and watched

all the way through thank you you guys are awesome my true spoonie's if you're

new here I'm happy I would love it if you subscribed and join their spoony

My Neighbor, Charles | 이웃집 찰스 - Ep.125 [ENG/2017.08.24] - Duration: 48:03.

(The hot place for designs)

(Korea's landmark DDP)

(Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Jung-gu, Seoul)

(125th class at the foreigner school)

This is My Neighbor, Charles

where we meet foreigners living in Korea.

- Hello. / - Hello.

Did you guys want to be

something else when you were kids?

- President. / - Okay.

I wanted to go to the Olympics

and win gold in taekwondo.

KBS news anchor.

It's still not late for me yet.

That's true but

why KBS instead of NHK?

I think it would be cool to do it here.

KBS, wait...

It's KBS News 9.

Why are you laughing?

- We can't trust you. / - Change the channel.

In hopes that you can still achieve your dreams,

we invited girls with a lot of dreams today.

(Today's guests are girls with a lot of dreams)

(Welcome to My Neighbor, Charles)

Hello.

They are a big family.

Hello, my name is Yaser.

I'm a dad from Egypt.

Okay.

Hello, I'm Lasha and I'm the mother.

Mother.

Hello, I'm Noran and

I'm 17. Nice to meet you.

The eldest son.

Hello, I'm Parida.

I'm 14 and I'm the second daughter.

What about the youngest?

Hello, I'm Mariam and...

- I'm the youngest. / - She's the youngest.

- How old are you? / - 9.

- 9 years old. / - 9.

- Were they all born in Egypt? / - Yes.

Then did you see this and the pyramids?

Yes, the sphinx.

What was that?

- But they understood. / - It's sphinx.

So what made you guys leave home

and brought you to Korea?

I was a member of the Constitution Party

which is an opposition party in Egypt.

It was a party that claimed for revolution.

However, there were a lot of disappointments even

after the revolution, causing my family to be in danger.

So we came to Korea for safety.

Is there a reason you chose Korea?

Did you know about Korea before?

I went on a trip to many countries,

and I came to Korea once.

I thought that Korea was

the safest among all the countries.

Korea is also famous for its education system.

So we decided to come here.

Then what are you doing

in Korea right now?

I'm making sinks in a factory.

I think it's one of the hardest jobs in Korea.

It must be difficult to live in such a foreign country.

Let's see how the family is doing.

(My Neighbor, Charles)

(We are rich with daughters)

(Ansan, Danwon, Gyeonggi-do)

Let's go to the family's house.

Are you guys awake?

(The kids are still sleeping)

It's also hard for the three girls to wake up

so early in the morning.

They should wake up now to get ready for school.

But they are passed out.

(What time is it? Who am I?)

We have to get up.

(Let me sleep more)

She forces her to wake up.

The youngest surrenders.

Wash up and wake up.

Are you going to eat or not?

This is leftover from yesterday!

How can we eat it?

Then, just go.

She's at that age of decorating herself.

Even though she skips her meals, she...

- Never skips to do her hair. / - I'm so pretty.

Yes, you are.

Stop crying and talk.

Which bag do I bring?

I don't know what you need to bring so

let's call the school.

There's a school field trip today for Mariam.

Because she doesn't know which bag to bring,

she began to panic.

She asks her sisters for help.

Which bag does she need to bring?

Yes.

You can bring any bags.

(Problem solved)

She has finally calmed down.

I didn't call the school.

Then what was that?

I lied.

(Excited)

Sometimes, it's best not to know.

Have fun at the field trip.

(Pink bag for field trip!)

Noran and Parida go to the school together.

Why are you going to the convenience store?

(Rice ball for breakfast?)

I thought you didn't want breakfast.

Are you guys buying rice balls?

(Why are they eating this instead of home meal?)

Why are you eating this instead of home food?

- This is better. / - So much better.

Don't tell mom.

It's mom.

She calls about 100 times a day.

They became so accustomed to Korean food.

She nags so much at home.

Even when we are out, she calls and nags.

It's killing me.

Unfortunately, they go to different schools.

Parida is in 7th grade.

(Noran's school, Ansan, Danwon, Gyeonggi-do)

Noran is 9th grade.

(At the same time)

The house is finally at peace.

(Finally, the mother has some time alone)

Unlike the kids who adjusted to the new life in 2 years,

Lasha is still unfamiliar with a lot things.

Lasha's only hobby is...

Yes.

Mobile games.

I really love games.

It relieves me from stress.

Give me one second.

Addiction is scary.

(It's tiring to be a dad)

What is their dad doing

in the meanwhile?

He works at a sink manufacturing factory

in Hwaseong.

In order to make a sink

he cuts, tightens, and moves.

He needs to work really hard.

Because of the dust formed during the process,

he has to wear a mask at all times.

Because everything has to be done manually,

my muscles ache a lot.

It hurts.

But this is what I have to do in Korea now.

It doesn't matter what I did in the past.

There is a reason he puts up with such hard work.

- 3 daughters? / - 3 daughters.

- It must be difficult. / - Yes.

- Is it? / - Yes, a little.

- A little? / - A little.

Good job.

He is a hard worker.

We provide lunch and dinner but because

he doesn't like Korean food, we give him money.

Then he saves up and buys snacks for his daughter.

He feels bad for his family because they had to

come here because of him.

They were an ordinary family in Egypt.

In 2013, during the Egypt revolution,

he was threatened for being in the opposition

party so they fled to Korea 2 years ago.

I participated in political activities in Egypt.

I was against military and religious authorities.

The revolution made it worse for us.

We escaped as everyone was getting imprisoned.

(Can they go to high school?)

Noran's 9th grade class.

It's mathematics.

Noran, are you keeping up?

- Minimum and maximum... / - Yes.

- Your turn, Noran. / - No, thank you.

Are you sure? Because I'm not.

What's left?

- X squared. / - Yes.

(Proud)

What's left?

Pardon?

You got stuck here.

Math, history, and Korean literature is hard but

English is easy.

What's going on?

It's because of high school enrollment.

Because you are much better in English

than Korean,

so I wanted to suggest if you'd want to go to

a foreign language high school because

you would understand so much more there.

Your parents don't pick up

when I call.

Even if I text them, they don't reply.

Her teacher couldn't talk with her parents.

So he decides to visit Noran's home to talk

about her future high school enrollment.

- Hello. / - Hello.

I'm Noran's teacher.

(I should have visited you)

Lasha is worried in case something

is going on with Noran.

Thank you.

It's good. I really like it.

Can you speak any Korean?

(Translating for her)

- Little. / - Little.

Does Noran have a boyfriend?

I think she likes someone.

I think she has a boy that she likes.

No, I don't.

No, I don't.

Not a boyfriend but she has

boys that are friends.

Noran's in trouble.

She said she wants to go to

a foreign language high school.

There is Suwon Academy of World Languages.

- Suwon? / - The school is in Suwon.

It's a little far.

It's a little far.

But private schools are expensive.

(I see)

Is that okay?

That's okay.

Are you sure?

Noran is worried about which school she wants.

It's so nice of you to support what she wants.

You're the best.

I hope the teacher's advice was very helpful.

- I'll see you at school. / - Yes, thank you.

Dinner is curry and beef.

They only eat halal meat since they are Muslims.

It's a humble Egyptian dinner table.

Lasha doesn't seem to have an appetite.

She seems to be lost in thoughts after

talking with the teacher.

She still has so much to get used to.

(It's good)

Lasha feels bad because she doesn't know much

about their school lives.

What are you guys looking at?

Papa.

- I want something. / - What is it?

The chocolate I like.

You know what it is, right?

2?

He knows what his daughters want.

When are you coming back?

- I love you. / - Sorry, I'm busy.

Since we only see him once a week,

he calls us every day.

He finally has dinner.

Green chili and Kimchi stew.

His appetite is so Korean now.

It's good.

To earn a little more, he works

overtime and night time.

He is also from Egypt.

We became close and talk about our lives.

You must be happy to have a friend from home.

Sometimes he needs a drink.

Kimchi goes well with soju.

After a rough day of work, if I drink,

I get relieved from stress and it's nice.

You pour with two hands in Korea, right?

They don't have such culture in Egypt.

He lives in the factory dorm because he lives far.

At 10 p.m., he is done for the day.

His 3 daughters make him forget how tired he is.

When he is alone, he thinks about them more.

When I take a break from work,

I think about my family, so I call them a lot.

Is it a good time for a video chat?

I've been good.

How are my siblings doing?

The God's with them so they should be fine.

I'm sure.

Yes, don't worry too much.

His siblings are under close watch by the government

for helping him out.

In Egypt, he was an ordinary office worker but

he is living a completely different life in Korea.

He is enduring such hard labor in order

to protect his family.

He survived today thanks to his family.

(It's tough living in Korea)

It seems like she is up to something.

Mom. Money.

- Don't be ridiculous. / - Money, money.

Come on.

(Not a chance)

They get a slap instead of money.

Let's leave everything aside for a minute

and talk about makeups.

Stop it.

I get $10 a week.

That's $40 a month.

That's not enough.

Even my sisters get $10 a week.

Parida and I don't get enough but

Mariam is fine.

Did you touch the laundry rack?

Get out.

Lasha changes subject immediately.

She does want to give them more pocket money.

But it's hard to raise all 3 of them every month.

I record how much we earn and spend.

I record profits, utility bills,

and family phone bills.

Even the fixed bills take up

most of dad's salary.

I try to save up as much as I can and

try to spend less on the area we spend the most.

We have to survive every month.

When she doesn't know how much she needs,

she calls me and asks.

Sometimes I'd ask for my salary in advance.

Noran's hanging out with her friends after school.

She can't just go back home.

Wow.

They are so happy over spicy rice cakes.

Thank you.

This looks pretty spicy.

It's so spicy.

We eat really spicy food in Egypt.

How spicy do they eat?

Can't be explained by words.

Noran, do you ride camels in Egypt?

What's he saying?

Are houses in Egypt all pyramids?

Hyerin, do you live in a grave?

Are there a lot of pretty people in Egypt?

Yes, can't you see?

Sorry.

That's why Mungeun has a crush on you.

Aren't you into Noran?

- No. / - Yeah, right.

No!

Seeing how nice he is, maybe he does like her.

You like her!

(Meanwhile)

Lasha seems very serious.

- Hello? / - Mom?

- I just finished my class. / - Where are you?

Are you with your friends?

Why are you keep calling when I'm with friends?

Noran, hurry up.

Come on.

- Okay? / - No.

Come back, now.

I call Noran often because I'm worried.

Because I can't speak Korean, I feel

insecure and uncomfortable without my daughters.

She needs her children's help because

she can't speak Korean.

She comes out to the market when bored at home.

I want to socialize in Korea like

these people in the market.

How much is this?

$2?

Give me a discount.

My store is the cheapest.

Cheap?

She's good at bargaining.

(She can't speak Korean but she's good at bargaining)

Are you looking for men's work pants?

She must have thought of her husband.

(She leaves it and goes)

Why aren't you getting it?

I think it'll look good on him.

I'm not sure if I have enough money.

I need to check how much I have.

I don't have enough.

I don't have enough money.

She couldn't get it because she had no money.

(Market pastries and donuts)

Pastries and donuts are best in markets.

Try some. Cut them for her.

- Should I give her this? / - Cut it.

She gets to try it, thanks to

the generous owner.

It's good. Can I make this too?

- This is really hard. / - It's hard?

Even in Korea,

not anyone can make it because it's hard.

- It's hard? / - Yes.

Lasha is suddenly checking out the store.

(Boiling)

She seems very curious.

Is she trying to start her business?

I think it's so cool that Korean women do

housework, raise children, and work outside.

I want to raise kids and work at the same time.

That'd be so nice.

(Korean is hard)

Is she from India?

No, Indians have piercings on their noses.

Where are you from?

Egypt.

- Egypt? / - Egypt.

What brought you here?

- What? / - What brought you?

2.

You've been in Korea for 2 months?

- 2 months? / - 2 months?

- 1 month, 2 months. / - 3 daughters.

- 3 months? / - Yes.

You've been here for 3 months.

You need to study Korean more.

Noran gets frustrated, teaching me Korean.

But I understand why.

It's so difficult that I can't follow.

So my daughters get tired.

If she asks us to teach her,

we try our best but she forgets

after 5 seconds, so

we kind of gave up teaching her Korean.

(Going back home)

After working overtime, his entire body is sore

but he is happy because...

Today is the day he goes back home in a week.

He is excited but he can't help but

falling asleep in the bus.

The only time I can spend time with my daughters

is the weekend.

There are so many things I want to do with them.

Even if I go back after working so hard,

they probably don't know how tired I am.

I'm exhausted.

It's 10 p.m. already.

But he still has a long way to go.

It takes 2 hours from Hwaseong to his home

in Ansan.

I have to transfer 4 times to

go back to my place.

It's so difficult to go home.

There aren't many buses either.

You'll become so tired by the time you get home.

(Falling asleep)

When he wakes up from this nap,

he'll be at peace with his beloved family.

He stops by a chicken restaurant before going home.

He can't just go back home, empty handed.

- Enjoy. / - Thank you.

(Happily going back)

He is home at last.

I'm home!

Sorry, I'm late.

He's been waiting all week for this moment.

Let's see how much you grew.

He forgets about how tired he was.

(The house became noisy with his arrival)

Come here.

He's so affectionate.

They are a family of 5 again.

They are just happy to be together.

- Is it good? / - No.

- Is it good? / - Yes.

- Is it good? / - Yes!

- Is it good? / - I said, yes!

He is so playful.

(Lasha cooks for her husband)

What is this?

Home food.

Wait, it's almost done.

You're the best.

Did you want home food?

Yes, because all I eat is Kimchi nowadays.

Did you miss my food?

Of course.

Knowing that her husband would miss home food,

Lasha is preparing kushari,

a main Egyptian food.

She is always worried about his meals.

Since she feels bad for being unable to be

with him, she put extra effort into making kushari.

It looks delicious.

He takes a big bite

after mixing the tomato sauce.

(It is delicious)

It's just right. It's good.

I want to eat it every day.

Lasha probably wants to make it every day for him.

(What a romantic guy)

Did you miss this?

(He hangs out with his kids a lot)

There is nothing special but it's a happy night.

(A date after a long while)

He asked Lasha on a date.

This is an ice cream you share.

You want to eat this together?

This is how you are supposed to eat.

Thank you.

It's good.

I like it.

You didn't know about this ice cream, right?

I love you.

You must really love him.

You can't help but smile.

- You don't like it? / - No, I love it.

I hope I get a visa in Korea and our

living gets a little better.

There's a high school Noran wants to go but

it's expensive.

We are talking about it a lot but

it's going to be hard for her to decide.

As children grow up, responsibility of a dad

grows bigger and bigger.

It's okay. Don't worry.

He tries his best to share Lasha's worries.

Why are you sleeping with Mariam?

She really gets on my nerve.

The daughters are on a competition to win dad.

This must be what it's like to have daughters.

(A happy night with daughters)

(Mother's attempt)

Noran and Lasha came to the market.

Where are you from?

Where do you go if you want to start a store?

Have you ever run a business before?

- No. / - It's your first time?

The president is here.

You can see him in the office.

I'll take you there.

Thank you.

Lasha is trying to open up a store.

I hope there is an open spot for her.

Will she able to get one?

We have a multicultural town near here.

So we tried to get diverse merchants

and open up a weekend market.

Is it your first time then?

Yes.

If the store does well, can she open every day?

After seeing how it goes, if it seems to do well,

then I'm going to gather more foreign merchants.

And I'm going to allow everyone to work

every day.

Thank you.

(She got the permission for now)

Thanks to others' consideration,

she can open up her shop.

This is where Lasha will work.

It's a really good spot.

That noodle restaurant came out on a TV show

and is very popular.

If the place starts to smell good

everyone will come around this area.

What do you think?

I like it.

She seems to like the spot.

I wonder how her new challenge

will turn out.

However, dad doesn't know what's going on

at all because he is back at the factory.

(No idea about Lasha's business plan)

- Hello, dad. / - Hey.

- How are you? / - Good, baby.

How is work?

- Dad. / - What?

I have something to tell you.

Mom wants to start a shop in the market.

What?

Developer Update | Hero Balance Updates | Overwatch - Duration: 10:23.

What's up, everyone.

This is Jeff, here with another developer update to tell you about something super awesome,

which is big changes coming for Mercy.

Now, Mercy is one of the top played characters in Overwatch, so I know there are many, many

of you out there who are Mercy mains, who are suddenly worried: "What are you doing to

my beloved Mercy?

Please don't wreck her.

Keep her awesome.

We love Mercy so much."

We love Mercy, too.

We wanted to put a lot of focus and attention into improving the Mercy play experience.

And I think it's important for me to start with: Why are we changing Mercy in the first place?

So, one of the problems we see with Mercy right now is there's a weird behavior that's

encouraged by the core, fundamental design of the hero, which is that, if you are a Mercy

player and you're healing your team and your ultimate is up or close to being up, you have

this weird moment where you stop healing your team, you go into hiding, and you start to

tell your team: "Everybody die together!

Die on the point.

Die on the point.

I have rez."

There are people who might not be listening to you on your team, who are now yelling at

you: "Why aren't you healing?

Why aren't you healing?"

They go off and die somewhere else.

Anyway, the team eventually wipes and then Mercy swoops in and does her big Resurrect.

There's a couple things we really don't like about this.

One, we think it's wrong to tell a main healing character to go off and hide somewhere and

stop healing for some period of time.

The other thing is, that on the receiving end, like, let's say you're on a team that

puts a lot of effort into getting a full team wipe.

You use a Zarya Graviton Surge and maybe have Pharah rain justice from above on top of that.

You wipe out the entire enemy team.

It's pretty disheartening to have Mercy just erase that moment with a full team rez.

So, we felt like her Resurrect was something that needed to be addressed.

The other thing that we here hearing frequently from Mercy players is: "Hey, Mercy doesn't

have an alternate ability.

She has Guardian Angel, which is a ton of fun.

It's super useful.

I'm using it all the time.

But how come Mercy has one less ability?"

So, we're making some big changes to Mercy.

The first change that I'll let you know about, and it's going to seem a little bit shocking

at first, is that her ultimate is no longer Resurrect.

Resurrect is becoming her second ability.

So, now she'll have Guardian Angel and Resurrect.

Now, there are some changes coming to Resurrect.

Resurrect is now single-target only, but it's on a cooldown.

So, you don't have to worry about generating an ult all the time.

It is a rather long cooldown, so you won't see players constantly resurrected, but it

becomes a really cool strategic moment in deciding to who to resurrect and when.

So, now Resurrect is a common ability on Mercy rather than her ultimate ability.

Now, Overwatch in lot of ways has heroes who are defined by their ultimate abilities, and

we knew how amazing Resurrect was as an ultimate ability for Mercy, so we felt like we really

had to come up with something special for Mercy players so that they felt like their

new ultimate was really worthy of the hero that they've come to love and respect so much.

So, Mercy will be getting an ultimate that's called Valkyrie.

And Valkyrie does a lot of things, so let me walk you through all of them.

First and foremost, when Mercy activates Valkyrie ...she can fly.

And I don't mean she can Pharah boost in the air briefly.

I mean she can fly.

And it's super fun.

You have complete control of your character.

After all, Mercy has those wings, we might as well put them to real use.

I mean, Guardian Angel is pretty good, but imagine flying with Mercy, how much fun it could be.

The other cool thing about Mercy when she's in Valkyrie is that everything she does is

basically better.

So, Guardian Angel now goes much farther than it did before, so she can reach targets much easier.

Her beams now go farther, both healing and damage boost beams can reach much farther

than they could.

The coolest part about the beams is now they chain to multiple targets.

So, if you have multiple teammates who are in need of healing and they're grouped up

the beam will hit all of them and they'll all be getting healed or they're all be getting

damage boosted.

Also, for those of you Battle Mercys out there, and I know you exist, her gun is now better

when she's in Valkyrie mode.

She can shoot faster and it does more damage, which is basically, like, me saying in two

ways: "She can do more damage."

I think the thing that you'll like about it the most is the ability to fly.

I think the flying really opens up those moments for Mercy where she's getting attacked,

her teammates aren't really helping her out, she needs a chance to get away, and really just

sort of flying...

The other thing you can do is swoop in and save people at the right time.

And, by the way, your Resurrect refreshes right when you use the ultimate ability.

Now, on the PTR we're going to be experimenting with different versions of the Resurrect and

how it works with Valkyrie.

Right out the gate, you'll see that she can use Resurrect even faster when she's in Valkyrie.

So, in a lot of ways, you now have Battle Mercy, flies to the air, sees her teammates

in trouble all around the battlefield, and then flies to them, either heals them or,

if they happen to die, she's gonna, you know, resurrect different ones of them.

We feel like Mercy will feel a lot more engaging to play than standing around the corner, hiding,

waiting for that moment to press the ultimate.

So, we really hope that you respond well to these changes to Mercy.

We know that she is a character that's played almost second-to-none, so we think we're going

to get a ton of feedback from you.

And we're really eager to hear...we want to hear what the Mercy players have to say and

we want to hear what people who have played on the receiving end of that team-wide resurrect

feel and how they feel about Valkyrie.

How do you feel like the balance is?

Is it fun to play against?

Do you understand what's going on?

So, we think this will be a good, healthy change for the game overall, so we look forward

to what you have to say there.

Now, I also what to give you a heads up that, eventually -- and not all these are going

to happen right away -- there's going to be some changes to some other heroes as well.

I don't want to instill panic in anybody, but we are going to take another look at D.Va.

We're doing some experiments to her right now.

And to be clear about what we're looking at on D.Va specifically is Defense Matrix.

We've heard both from D.Va players and from players playing against D.Va

that Defense Matrix can feel almost smothering.

What I mean by this is: As a D.Va player, you feel almost required to maximize your

uptime with this ability because it is so powerful.

And, on the receiving end, at times it feels like there's no counter to Defense Matrix.

If you take something like Orisa's shield or Reinhardt's shield, you understand when

that ability is going to be on cooldown.

Like, you see Reinhardt's shield is cracking and it's going to go down, and you know if

you destroy it you've got a window of opportunity there against Reinhardt.

Where D.Va, with Defense Matrix, it's pretty much up all the time.

And, even when she lowers it, she can feather it very quickly to deny certain crucial abilities

such as Zarya's ultimate, which is Graviton Surge, for example.

It's a little bit devastating right now, so we're looking at changes to D.Va to lessen

the impact of Defense Matrix without injuring the character's ability to perform her primary role,

which is that of tank.

So, please don't panic.

We're not going to overly hurt D.Va.

We're also looking to give her other fun things to do and we have a couple of experiments

in play right now internally that we believe will make her more skillful and more fun to play offensively,

which is something that we've hear a lot from our D.Va players, as well.

That they're looking for something to do besides just holding that Defense Matrix button down.

These changes will be coming out soon.

We will provide you with more details as soon as we have something that we feel is worthy

of your time and attention and playable on the PTR.

So, hopefully as soon as possible.

It's what our focus is right now.

Overall, even though we've had some of these heroes in the game since Day 1, we feel like

it's our responsibility to always look after both the players of these heroes and the people

who are on the other side, which is our player base in its entirety, and make sure that everybody's

playing out as fun as possible.

Rest assured, if things aren't playing out well on the PTR, or if things happen to go

live and they're not playing out perfectly or to the community's liking, we will go back

and keep looking at these things.

We look forward to your discussion.

We look forward to those of you who go to the PTR and actually check these things out.

And we also look forward to people's impressions.

Let us know what you think of these changes and have fun with them!

We'll check in next time.

Hack: Pentatonic Scale for Altered Chords - Modern Melodic Minor Secrets - Duration: 6:41.

(playing guitar)

- Hi everybody, my name is Jens Larsen.

The pentatonic scale

is probably one of the first things we come across

when we want to start to improvise on guitar.

And since it's something that we're very familiar with,

and as you might have seen in some of my other lessons,

that it's something that you can use

to superimpose over other chords

and draw out some very interesting sounds,

it might be worthwhile checking out what you can do

if you start changing

one or two notes in the pentatonic scale

to get a different kind of scale,

and then use it in the same way.

In this video, I'm going to go over

how you can take one note of the C minor pentatonic scale,

and change it, and then get some really interesting sound

over a G7 altered.

If you wanna learn more about jazz guitar,

about improvising over changes,

and some interesting arpeggios and scale choices,

then subscribe to my channel.

If you wanna make sure not to miss anything,

then click the little bell notification icon

next to the Subscribed button.

I came across this scale that I'm talking about

in this video when I was messing around

with the C minor pentatonics, or (plays)

You probably already know this. (plays)

And what I did was I changed the C, so the root,

to move down a half step, and then I had this scale.

(plays)

And this scale you might also recognize

as a subset of the notes found in A-flat melodic minor.

The reason why I'm mentioning the C minor pentatonic

is because it's gonna make it easier

to learn the scale in the beginning.

So if we think of (plays)

because you probably already know C minor pentatonic,

and you probably can find the C in the C minor pentatonic

and change that to a B,

then it gets really easy to construct (plays)

all the other (plays)

positions as well,

because if I take this (plays)

C minor pentatonic and change the C into a B,

then I have (plays) so in that way,

that can be just easy to get started.

Of course, you need to check out the scale

for the rest as well, and we need to look at that also.

If you wanna use this scale when you're improvising,

you probably wanna be quite familiar with it,

and one way you can do that

is to practice some different exercises through the scale.

So you can use, of course,

the same exercises you do with the other pentatonic scales,

so that could be playing the scale

in groups of three (plays)

or in four (plays).

You should, of course, also check out

what kind of chords you can find in the scale,

and one way you can do that is to stack diatonic thirds,

which, for a pentatonic scale,

usually gives you a lot of quartal harmony.

That would be this exercise (plays).

So this tells us that we have (plays) this structure,

which, if I play it an octave higher,

you would probably recognize as the top part of a D7#9,

which is in fact a quartal voicing.

Then we get (plays) an E-flat augmented triad,

(plays) a stack of fourths from F,

(plays) a G7 shell voicing,

(plays) E-flat Major 2nd inversion triad,

(plays) and then we're back with our

quartal voicing for the G7#9 (plays).

So that's how you construct and play the scale,

how you do some exercises in it,

and a little bit about what kind of structures

you can find in there.

So now we can go over some ii-V-I licks,

where we're using this on the altered dominant.

(plays)

So in this example,

the D minor is first just using an Fmaj7 arpeggio,

but I'm playing it (plays) in two,

so two fifths next to each other.

Then there's a scale run (plays) from D to A.

And here, the G7 altered lick, in this case,

is really just playing the scale ascending,

so I'm starting on B-flat (plays)

and it's just up the scale (plays)

and then resolving that the the 9th on C major (plays).

And really what you have here is that this scale,

it works sort of as an arpeggio,

or as something that's really just

pulling out certain colors,

and because it's sort of a

little bit less familiar structure,

it will work as a melody also,

so in that way we can get away with

using really just a scale run once in a while,

and then still make it sound interesting.

(plays)

Here, start with an ascending Dm7 arpeggio, so from

(plays) C down to D,

and then I run up the scale (plays)

and then down to the E,

and then I'm using that just to encircle the F on the G7.

And here I'm using, first,

this quartal arpeggio, so (plays).

And then from here I go to the (plays)

this E-flat augmented inversion (plays)

and then I resolve that to the high third E on Cmaj7 (plays)

(plays)

So here I'm again using the Fmaj7 arpeggio on the D minor,

so I start on the A, and down to the F,

and up the arpeggio (plays)

down the scale, skipping down to A.

And then on the G7 (plays) I'm skipping up,

so I'm using (plays)

this position,

and I start with (plays) B flat (plays)

down an E flat major triad,

and then (plays) up to F (plays) down on the E flat,

and then resolves to the E on the C major (plays).

The trick to using these other pentatonic scales

that we can construct is probably to rely a little bit

on some of the habits and some of the technique

we have in the normal pentatonic scales,

so you wanna keep them two notes per string.

And for the rest, you probably wanna work with them

as a specific, certain color that you can pull out

and just add to your vocabulary

of other melodic minor material that you have

when you wanna play on an altered chord,

or in a tonic minor situation.

If you wanna learn more about jazz guitar,

and this is the first time you've seen one of my lessons,

then subscribe to my channel.

I publish a new lesson every Thursday,

and I've been doing it for quite some time,

so there's already a lot of material available

on my channel.

Probably this lesson is gonna be the first in a series,

because I'm gonna do a few more lessons

on how you can alter the standard minor pentatonic scale

and get some really interesting sounds

that you can use in different situations.

So if you have ideas for stuff

you really wanna have a pentatonic scale lesson on,

then feel free to leave a comment on that.

[Darris McNeely] A few days ago, I was on a cross-country flight.

We thought, my wife and I, as we were dashing through the airport, that we were going to

miss the connecting flight to the West Coast.

And the gate, we thought, would be closed.

But as we got to the gate, it was still open.

I ran up to the counter.

I said, "Can I still get on the plane?"

He said, "Yup."

He said, "If you've got a ticket, get on there, we're about to close it."

They'd already given my seat away to someone on standby.

So as my wife and I were going down the aisle of the airplane, I saw the first seat – I

said, "You take this one, I'll go back here."

My seat turned out to be the middle of three seats.

It's a typical arrangement in some of these airplanes, you'll know about.

So I plopped myself down in the middle seat.

And two people were on either side of me.

And just as the plane was closing up and they were taking off, I looked to the person to

my right, and it was a young lady that had tattoos all over her and body piercings all

over her face.

And she looked rather interesting, to put it mildly.

But as I looked to her and started to say hi, she just kind of edged over – basically,

"Don't invade my space," kept looking straight ahead, didn't want to engage.

So I said, okay.

I thought to myself that way.

I turned to the left, a gentleman sitting next to me.

I said, "How're you doing?"

He turned to me and he said, "I just got news this morning that my thirty-one-year-old

daughter died.

I've got to go out now to take care of her funeral arrangements."

The plane's ascending 35,000 feet.

What do you say?

What do you do?

I couldn't believe the tragedy and the sorrow that was all over the man's face as he began

to tell me about his daughter and what he had been awakened to that morning.

She died tragically, unexpectedly, from what would be considered a routine situation that

it seems, possibly, was mishandled, sent home too early, something happened, and she died.

And so instead of getting ready for her first grade class as a teacher this year, her father

was going home to bury her.

You know, two people.

Two different attitudes.

I spent pretty much the whole time on that flight talking to this gentleman and just

hearing his story, sharing a personal story that was going through my life at that time,

as well, and just listening to him.

What do you say?

I told him I was a minister and had been there with a lot of other people in his particular

situation through the years.

And as we parted, as the plane landed, I could only wish him Godspeed and say, "God be

with you, my friend," and pray that God's grace would comfort him with the burden that

he had to bear up under and what he had to take care of that day and the subsequent time.

You know, when you look at people – and here I was, thrown into the middle seat of

an airplane, two different types of people, two different reactions at that moment as

to where people were and what was going on in their life – one was kind of hard.

The other, his heart was a bit more open, at least, to talking to another human being,

where the other person didn't want to and with the array on her face and on her skin

– something else going on.

I wish her well, certainly don't wish her evil, but she didn't want to engage at that

time.

But maybe a little bit of a lesson in life about a heart, and having an approach that

is open, vulnerable, and can be taught and can be reached.

When I look at this concept that I've been talking about, of the "fellowship of the

heart", and I try to understand exactly what it is God is doing, where God is working,

I go back to a scripture in the book of Jeremiah – and I started this series here and with

Jeremiah 17:9, but let's conclude it with what is said in Jeremiah 31:33.

A well-known scripture that is also quoted in Hebrews chapter 8 in the New Testament

to describe the relationship God has with those whom He calls, who repent, who seek

to change their heart, to change their life, and to be led by His holy spirit, and seek

a different relationship with Him (Hebrews 8:1-13).

Jeremiah 31:33 says that, "'This is the covenant that I will make with the house of

Israel after those days,' says the Lord."

So it's God speaking.

He says, "'I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts.'"

I will put My law in their minds and write it – the law – on their heart.

The fellowship of the heart.

"'And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.'"

Where's God working today?

What is God's uppermost work and desire, perhaps, as He works with His called, His

chosen, with those who are faithful?

It's writing – putting His law in your minds and writing it upon the heart, through

experience, through our reading of the Bible, through us drawing to God in a close relationship

that actually begins to change the thoughts, the attitudes of our mind, and our heart as

we look toward about God, as we look toward one another and changing our relationships

there.

I had this amazing experience on an airplane.

A random experience in two different peoples, kind of representing the two different aspects

of what I'm talking about here – a heart that didn't want to be reached at that moment,

and then a heart that was reaching out and looking for some understanding, looking for

some hope.

Wherever you find yourself at this particular time, I hope that your heart is open toward

God, to where He could begin a relationship with you as you choose to take that step toward

Him and the calling and the relationship that He is building.

Because if we do, then we enter into this fellowship of the heart and into the greatest,

most important work that God is concerned with at this particular point in time, with

those who are his called, chosen, and faithful.

So where do you fall on that?

Something for you to think about in your relationship with God, and with your fellow man.

Developer Update | Hero Balance Changes - Duration: 10:23.

Bye!
