First of all, clean the place where the idol of lord Ganesha is to be placed.

After that, place red cloth on it.

On that red cloth, make a design of swastika with wheat grains.

Then place a coin in middle of that swastika.

And place the idol of lord Ganesha on it, with his face covered in a cloth.

Now ignite a diya and place it on the left side of the idol.

Then by greeting namaskar, lift the cloth from the face of lord Ganesha.

Now take the white cloth and place it on the right side of lord Ganesha.

Then take rice grains and draw nine points on the cloth.

Place nine beetles on the points.

These nine points represents nine planets.

Now put tilak on you, and then on Lord Ganesha.

After putting tilak of vermillion and scandal wood...

...put akshat (rice grains) on Lord Ganesha's feet.

Now greet Lord Ganesha, Goddess of our family...

...God and Goddess of our home town...

...God of our current place...

...our teachers, our parents...

...our beloveds, well wishers with Namaskar.

Also, greet once again to almighty Lord Ganesha.

Now place a flower at the feet of Lord Ganesha with the faith...

...that let me achieve success in all my work without any troubles.

With this prayer in our heart, we'll make a pledge (sankalp).

While taking the pledge, we'll mention today's date, day, star...

...and the place where we are performing the pledge.

We'll mention sun, moon, Jupiter...

...and other planets that come in all zodiac signs...

...we'll consider those zodiac signs as well.

We'll remember the sage of our tribe.

Thereafter, by mentioning...

...the purpose of establishment of Lord Ganesha at our home...

...we'll complete our pledge.

Then, we'll take the yellow mustard in our left hand

And by covering it with our right hand, and praying that...

...let all evil things disappear from this place.

We'll fling the yellow mustards in all directions in our house.

After that, tap your left feet thrice on the floor.

And touch water to your eyes.

After this, we'll greet to Gods of all directions, standing at one place.

And after this, in our south direction we'll greet especially to God Bhairav.

Greet God Hanuman in our north direction.

Greet God Sun in the sky.

And then by placing flower, we'll greet to the ignited diya.

After this, we'll perform the puja of the bell and the shell.

And we'll dedicate the flower dipped in the mixture of vermillion and sandal powder.

We'll ring the bell and then place where it was.

Now we'll meditate lord Ganesha.

After that, take rice grains in your left hand and with your right hand...

...dedicate it on the body of the idol with the emotion that...

...let the life elements of Lord Ganesha obtain in this place.

Again we'll tilak Lord Ganesha and dedicate akshat (rice grains) to him.

We'll dedicate cloths to Lord Ganesha.

After this, we'll dedicate yagnapavit.

Then tilak Lord Ganesha, dedicate akshat...

...flower and durva (Bermuda grass).

And we'll put garland of flowers on Lord Ganesha.

Now will dedicate a flower dipped in kumkum, abeer and gulal to Lord Ganesha.

Then dedicate agarbatti to Lord Ganesha.

Now we'll dedicate various offerings to Lord Ganesha.

After that we'll make Lord Ganesha taste the food.

Take some water in your hand and intersperse around the offerings.

Now, we'll dedicate dakshina in at the feet of Lord Ganesha.

After that we'll perform puja of nine planets.

For each planet, we'll place one flower at every betel.

Now we greet to all nine planets.

Now we'll perform kalash puja.

First of all, we'll place some akshat in kalash.

Then put some water in it.

Then dedicate the mixture of kumkum and sandal powder.

Again dedicate akshat...

...then Bermuda grass...

...5 leaves of betel.

Again dedicate akshat.

Then dedicate betel in it.

Then dedicate a coin in it.

Then a flower dipped in mixture of kumkum and sandal powder.

Tie the kalash with mauli.

After that dedicate coconut on it.

And put the garland of flowers on kalash.

Now take the kalash in your hands and greet to Lord Ganesha...

...place it on the white cloth in between betels.

Again greet to nine planets, greet to God Varun (God of rains).

Dedicate the offerings to kalash.

After this we greet to God Varun...

...and perform the aarti.

"Oh, the source of happiness and destroyer of sorrows."

"You are the idol of love and leniency."

"Sindoor looks most beautiful on you..."

"...and the garland shines around your neckline."

"Oh, the idol of fortune..."

"...with mere glance of yours, all our wishes gets fulfilled."

"Oh, the son of Gauri we tilak you with sandal powder, kumkum and saffron."

"Diamond studded crown looks splendid on you."

"The anklets in your feet make sweet resonance."

"Oh, the idol of fortune..."

"...with mere glance of yours, all our wishes gets fulfilled."

Oh Lambodar (one of the names of Lord Ganesha)...

...in the celestial attire, your twisted trunk is your epithet.

"We the servants of yours, wait eagerly for your arrival."

"The saver in our difficulties..."

"...the protector of unsubstantial, we salute you from heart."

"I lie down and bow down at your feet..."

"...and I'll see your beautiful celestial form."

"I'll embrace you lovingly..."

"...I'll worship you happily from the bottom of my heart."

"You are my father and mother as well, you are my brother and a friend too."

"You are my knowledge, my wealth, you are my everything in this world."

"With my efforts through body and by this limited intellect and sanity."

"So also through intellect, self, by nature and behavior..."

"...whatever I do, I offer all that to you Oh Lord!"

"Salute you O Acyuta, I salute you O keshava, Salute you O Rama"

"Salute you O Krishna, I salute O Vasudeva, Salute you O Hari."

"Salute you O Sridhara, Madhava, I salute you O beloved of Gopikas."

"Oh Lord, manifesting in many forms, I salute you and worship you."

"Hail to Lord Krishna. Hail to Lord Rama."

"Hail to Lord Krishna. Hail to Lord Rama."

"Hail to Lord Krishna. Hail to Lord Rama."

"Hail to Lord Ganesha!"

Now we'll circle the water around the plate of aarti.

After that, by circling the flower around the plate of aarti...

...we'll dedicate it at the feet of Lord Ganesha.

Then we'll dedicate the aarti to Lord Ganesha...

...to nine planets and Lord Varun.

We our self will take the aarti and then wash our hands.

And we'll take a flower in our hand and chant the mantra pushpanjali.

And then we'll dedicate that flower at the feet of Lord Ganesha.

We'll greet to Lord Ganesha and take the Prasad.

We'll give Prasad to the guests as well.

Here we accomplish the establishment and worship of Lord Ganesha.

12 Hours of Story, Song and Dance | Daily 360 VR | The New York Times - Duration: 1:26.

The quilts have been part of this work for years already.

We've been making them for about three years.

We gather people together in these sewing bees across this country

and in Australia and Taiwan.

The atmosphere kept changing as, of course, the light changed,

and the moods change and the shifts change and I just mean mood

in terms of light and how the night shifts.

The relationship between the performers and the audience is

very much that we are all here together.

We have gathered here together. We are in this together.

I wanted people in the morning, as the sun came up,

to just be able to step into this new day changed and ready.

Vlog: New Cardiologist - I'm Finally Diagnosed with POTS! 😊 (8.9.17) [CC] - Duration: 12:12.

Good morning guys!

Today is . . .

Wednesday . . . August . . .

8th or something.

[Laughter]

or 9th?

And today is my appointment with . . .

my new cardiologist.

So, we're about to head to Cincinnati soon.

And I figured it's gonna be a long day.

[Laughter]

And just stressful.

But um yeah, so I'm going to wake up Nick

and we're going to head out soon.

And then, I'll check in with you guys later.

Mahala: It's morning family time!

Nick: Yeah, I'm enjoying my dog.

Mahala: Milloo-ooh-oh-oohh

[Laughter]

Mahala: He is so cuddly.

Mahala:Hey guys.

We're on our way . . .

to the appointment!

Nick: Man, there's the driving range . . .

I always want to go to.

Mahala: Yupp.

Nick: I haven't done it yet.

Nick:The DigiTech.

That's what we should talk about.

I don't know I'm just so drawn towards it.

Yeah I know.

Mahala: Oops

Nick: It's too high up

Mahala: I messed it up.

[Laughter]

Now you look like an angel . . .

with a halo.

Nick: Whatever.

Mahala: Anyway . . .

It's about an hour drive . .

to this appointment.

So . . .

I've been feeling alright.

I had a really bad headache yesterday

and took pain medicine for that.

And, I'm just really excited . . .

and optimistic for this appointment.

My mom's gonna call in . . .

[Laughter]

from Tennessee.

So I'm gonna have . . .

her on speakerphone.

And . . .

[That] should be okay.

One thing that I thought . . .

was pretty cool . . .

was that . . .

when they called . . .

to register me yesterday . . .

they asked like . . .

if I needed to use . . .

a wheelchair or a walker or . . .

had any other needs like . . .

hearing or visually impaired . . .

or any of that stuff.

But I thought it was cool . . .

that they like . . .

try to take notice of that . . .

and be like accessible . . .

and like help out with that.

Yeah I've never been . . .

to this area before.

I have no idea . . .

The lady on the phone . . .

made it sound like it was . . .

confusing to get to.

So, that's why I tried to leave . . .

plenty of time.

I got my Propel . . .

today.

And if . . .

you . . .

have POTS . . .

Then you would know . . .

that, that's like . . .

a great tool to have . . .

Gatorade, Propel, anything . . .

Some people drink salt water.

I can't bring myself to do that.

I tried like the plain propel . . .

without any flavoring . . .

and I couldn't do that either . . .

it just, it seemed so weird.

But this . . .

is good.

And I can't really do any . . .

fruit flavors, like Gatorade flavors.

So I think . . .

I'm going to be probably . . .

drinking the lemon propel forever.

That should be good.

I'm just so excited.

Like I was really nervous about it but the . . .

person in my support group who referred me . . .

like, told me about him . . .

she made me a lot better . . .

and said how like . . .

she had an appointment with him yesterday . . .

and he was really listening . . .

to her . . .

and helpful . . .

So . . .

I was like nervous . . .

especially after how crappy . . .

my appointment went yesterday . . .

But, I'm feeling just more excited . . .

than anything.

So, I really . . .

hope. . .

it goes well.

My goals is to finally get some kind of . . .

official diagnosis . . .

with my Tilt Table testing . . .

in hand . . .

and . . .to . . .

come up with a plan for treatment.

So . . .

that's the goals.

And, I'm telling ya again. . .

I've got some big news coming for ya soon.

But . . .

I'm just gonna let you guys sit there . . .

and think about what that could be.

[Laughter]

For fun . . .

and to bother you . . .

and because it's not official yet.

And I don't wanna . . .

announce anything that's unofficial.

But . . .

fun stuff is going on.

Anyway . . .

I guess we'll check in with you later.

[Music]

Guuuyyss!!

Guess what happened!

So, I'm finally diagnosed with POTS . . .

and . . .

he . . .

is . . .

putting me on . . .

uh . . .

Mi- Mi-do-drine

Midodrine.

And he . . .

ya know basically . . .

like, answered all my questions . . .

and Mom joined on speakerphone . . .

and he explained everything to her . . .

and explained how like beta-blockers . . .

can even sometimes make stuff worse.

And . . . he . . .

um is referring me to physical therapy.

We went over more about the salt, the fluid . . .

um . . . more about different compression garments . . .

aside from the socks

And we also talked about EDS . . .

and how I think that could be a possibility.

And like . . .

he thinks that could be a possibility

And so he thinks I should have my primary . . .

try to refer me to Dayton Children's . . .

to see a geneticist there . . .

because they have an EDS Clinic and everything.

And literally, that would explain everything . . .

that's ever happened to me in my life.

So.

[Laughter]

Pretty exciting stuff!!

I'm so excited!!

And he pretty much just . . .

he said, you know . . .

like right away . . .

"You definitely have POTS." right.

"This is POTS"

That's what he said.

I'm like, "Thank you!" like . . .

So.

It's so exciting.

And now, we're gonna eat at Nick's place.

So I'll check in with you guys later.

And I'll tell you more about it later too.

[Music]

Hey guys, I just wanted to . . .

check back in with you . . .

since I've been home.

I . . .

do not remember . . .

like, what all I said earlier . . .

because my brain is just like . . .

flooded right now . . .

in a good way.

I'm just, I'm overwhelmed . . .

but in a good way.

Just trying to process . . .

like all the information I got today . . .

and things I need to do . . .

and, I don't know.

My brain's just like . . .

spinning in circles . . .

so, I'm a little out of it.

But, I wanted to make sure . . .

I said everything that I needed to.

I'm just so relieved about the appointment today.

I don't know if I talked about the fact that . . .

he put me on medication . . .

Midodrine, I think is what it's called . . .

[Nonesense]

See I can't even talk right now.

[Laughter]

Which I have heard of . . .

in my . . .

support group.

And, I guess it helps to . . .

constrict the blood vessels . . .

so that they . . .

the blood gets . . .

circulated better and . . .

hopefully, lowers your heart rate . . .

and makes you less symptomatic and all.

And I think it helps with low blood pressure.

So.

That's good news

He also told me I should contact Dayton Children's . . .

and . . .

the same person who told me about . . .

Dr. Waller. . .

also mentioned . . .

that they were able to get in with Dayton Children's . . .

by calling them and not even having a referral.

So, I'm going to try to call them tomorrow . . .

and if, that doesn't work out or whatever . . .

I still see my primary doctor . . .

in like a week and a half.

So, I'll have him refer me then.

I plan to make a video . . .

[Sigh]

I have a lot of video plans.

[Laughter]

But I plan to make one . . .

explaining POTS.

Especially, so that my . . .

Ya know, a lot of us in the chronic illness community . . .

A lot of us, know what it is, already.

But . . .

for like my family and friends . . .

and people who don't . . .

I was thinking about making a video . . .

more about . . .

more specifically, what it is . . .

what's happening with it . . .

And just a general . . .

like, "What is it" video.

And I also thought about making a video . . .

explaining like my whole process . . .

to . . .

getting diagnosed.

But I'm almost thinking about like . . .

making that video later.

[Laughter]

Like, when I'm fully diagnosed . . .

with everything.

But if they're all separate problems . . .

then it might take forever.

But, someday I'm gonna make that video too.

When I got home today . . .

I took a nap . . .

and I picked up my prescriptions . . .

and I spoke to my family . . .

like my mom and my dad

and explained some of the stuff that happened.

So . . .

I don't know . . .

I'm pretty much . . .

spent for today.

But, I wanted to comment on how great . . .

Social Media is . . .

and support groups.

Because . . .

if I wouldn't have . . .

posted about my Tilt Table Test being positive . . .

and still being undiagnosed in that group . . .

I never would have heard of this doctor.

And I would probably be waiting 7 months . . .

to get to the Cleveland Clinic . . .

and I would probably . . .

not . . .

be diagnosed . . .

for a long time . . .

or have a treatment plan in place.

So . . .

it really . . .

makes all the difference.

Being able to help each other in these groups . . .

and connect with people who get it and everything.

So.

That's wonderful.

I'm pretty much done vlogging.

I'm, I have a headache . . .

I haven't ate dinner yet . . .

I think I just had some fries today . . .

and that's the only thing I've ate.

So.

I'm gonna eat some food . . .

and probably just relax . . .

for the rest of the night.

So.

I will . . .

see you next time.

Thanks for watching!

Labobros Interview 2013 Sub ENG/ESP - Duration: 4:24.

You may wish to start since both of our parents are musical and music lovers,

we soon grew more and more passionate about music and then this passion has grown up in time inside of us

so we decided to play and sing as Labobros, in this musical project.

I started playing music Since I like my father's guitars,

so while I was playing (every time hiding from my father or when he wasn't there) I used to create some melodies…

thinking twice, I wasn't creating anything, I was just plucking open strings.

So one day, when I decided that I wanted my father to be listening he just said:

well, this is not playing guitar!!

It became a challenge with myself, with my strong desire of making music, searching for

those particular sounds, firstly on guitar, then on other instruments, voices included.

We started this project 'Labobros' about one year ago.

I personally play by ear a few instruments like: violin, flute, ukulele..

well as many instruments you have as much happiness I received.

Obviously they are colours, particular sounds

and from there on we embraced...

we joined...

the acoustic side of the music

Our creative process starts with an idea.. this idea can come out from me or from Pietro,

then we develop it, especially using our voices, as a matter of fact we usually use our voices like an instrument.

Before I stand in front of a microphone, I get strong panic attacks

but then I get over them after 3 step onto a stage.

Our musical influences come from many bands and many music genres

like progressive rock, rock or pop.

I prefer bands over soloists as I really love the fact that you can play all the details

you want your audience to listen on the cd..

On the contrary if you have on your album polyphonic choir and you aren't be able

to reproduce them, then it feels pretty annoying.

At some point of my life, I absolutely fell in love with progressive rock and then I followed

that path, well of course it always depends on different songs,

but I love all the Beatles, Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant, King Crimson etc etc era.

I am Pietro Labonia

I am Giuseppe Labonia

and we are Labobros

How To Stand Up For Yourself as an Introvert - Duration: 10:05.

How To Stand Up For Yourself as an Introvert

Have you ever felt like people disrespect you because you're introverted?

They assume that because you are quiet you don't know how to stand up for yourself.

They think you'll just sit there and take their unfair behaviour, as if it were sweet

medicine … and maybe you do.

I don't blame you.

I completely get why you would choose submissive niceness or avoidance over standing up for

yourself.

We introverts are naturally conflict-averse.

We are the anti-drama queens and kings, who will do anything to maintain peaceful waters.

But there's a problem with this approach.

Not knowing how to stand up for yourself is like taking slow-acting poison.

Tolerating people who disrespect you corrodes your sense of self-esteem.

Not only that …

It also plants a little black seed of resentment.

Each time a person puts you down or pushes you around, that seed sprouts thorny vines

of anger.

If you're an introvert, these prickly resentments often stay quiet and hidden away, where the

only person they can hurt is you.

Or so you think …

The truth is that when you don't know how to stand up for yourself as an introvert,

your anger might come out in passive aggressive ways.

Author Martha Beck explains:

The problem is that trying to change unfair behavior with submissive niceness is like

trying to smother a fire with gunpowder.

It isn't the high road; it's the grim, well-trod path that leads from aggressive

to passive, through long, horrible stretches of passive-aggressive.

So, what's the solution?

Well, learn how to stand up for yourself.

Of course the answer is to stand up for yourself before the black seeds of resentment have

the chance to sprout.

But here's the thing.

When you're quiet, introverted, and conflict-averse, this whole assertiveness thing does not come

naturally.

It goes against our peaceful nature, or so we think.

In reality, knowing how to stand up for yourself actually prevents conflict in the long run,

especially when you know the steps to do so without being aggressive or passive-aggressive.

You're in luck because today I'm going to share you the steps to stand up for yourself,

even if you're introverted and hate conflict.

These are the very same steps I used to quickly and painlessly stand up for myself during

a family get together.

You see, I was spending time with family members that I hadn't seen in a while and a couple

of them saw our reunion as an opportunity to scrutinize and criticize my vegan diet

and my "skinny" body.

My reaction surprised even me because a couple of years ago I probably would have responded

totally differently.

I would have silently taken the criticism, even though I knew it was unfair and made

me feel uncomfortable.

Or I would have skulked away in shame, thinking that I was at fault somehow.

Both reactions would have only fed the vicious cycle of unfair behaviour and silent resentment.

Instead, I did something that ended the criticism in an instant, without creating conflict.

Here's how I did it, and how you can stand up for yourself too:

1.

Be clear on who you are and what's important to you.

The reason why you don't know how to stand up for yourself could be that you struggle

with self-doubt.

When you're unclear on your values, it's hard to defend them.

It takes a lot of self-reflection to discover what is truly in important to you.

Your next task is to continually revisit and reaffirm these beliefs and values so you know

how to protect them when they are under attack.

When I first decided to follow my current diet, for example, I was not as confident

in my new lifestyle as I am now.

But after several months of research and practice, I have no doubt that this way of eating is

right for ME, regardless of what others think.

The same goes for my introversion.

At first, I thought that there was something wrong with me because I was quiet, and liked

to be alone.

When others told me that my behaviour was weird, I believed them.

Now that I know my introversion is nothing to be ashamed of, I would never tolerate anyone

ridiculing my quiet nature.

2.

Develop authentic confidence.

It takes courage to stand up for yourself, especially when you are bullied by louder,

and more aggressive personalities.

When you are truly confident in who you are, meaning that you have a strong sense of self-love

and self-respect, you will have the courage to hold your ground against those who try

to disrespect you.

Confidence is like kryptonite to bullies.

They will always choose easy, passive prey over someone who stands up for themselves

from the get-go.

I have to be honest, developing authentic confidence takes time, especially if you've

spent most of your life feeling different.

3.

Do activities that make you feel empowered.

Knowing how to hold your ground is a practice that begins in both mind and body.

That's why many physical activities can make you feel surprisingly empowered.

Everything from yoga, to kick-boxing, to dancing, to painting murals, can teach your body to

choose strength over passivity.

If you're not the athletic type, you could start with a few simple power poses, which

have been scientifically proven to boost confidence.

4.

Express yourself without being aggressive or avoidant.

As you probably already know, there is a fine line between respectfully standing up for

yourself versus lashing out at the other person.

In the heat of the moment, it can be hard to decipher where that line is.

On the other hand, since introverts hate conflict, you might be more avoidant than aggressive.

This won't get you very far either.

Here's how to stand for yourself without being too aggressive or avoidant:

Focus on expressing how the other person's behaviour makes YOU feel.

Instead of saying "you're being a jerk," say something like, "I feel put on the spot,

I don't like feeling this way."

This is exactly what I did when family members were criticizing my diet and body.

I said "this is making me feel uncomfortable, and I don't like it."

For some bullies, this is enough.

If they persist, you might have to get more firm and direct by explicitly telling them

what you don't like about how they are treating you, and what you would like instead: "I

do not like being insulted, even if it's a joke.

Please be more considerate of my feelings."

As scary as it may sound to utter the above phrases, it is surprisingly natural when you

truly love and respect yourself.

The best part is that you don't need to be long-winded.

This is a relief for introverts who tend to be word economists.

Less is more when it comes to assertive communication.

After all, no one likes to be lectured for hours on end.

When you are direct and honest, your message is heard loud and clear from the first sentence.

5.

Release and move on.

Now that you know how to stand up for yourself, it's important to remember the final step.

Instead of staying stuck in a state of defensiveness, let go of your anger, and move on.

This might mean allowing the conversation to drift back to more casual topics, or taking

a walk to clear your head.

You'll be surprised at how easy it is to move on once you've expressed your feelings

in a healthy way.

You'll also be shocked at how swiftly the other person's behaviour towards you changes.

This is especially true if you stand up for yourself sooner rather than later.

It's like that old saying goes, you teach people how to treat you, so it's best to

start the training as soon as possible!

After I stood up for myself at the family get-together, the conversation quickly moved

on to other topics.

There was no yelling, or tears, or silent treatment.

Within minutes, it was as if there had never been an issue.

And here's the best part.

No one from my family has criticized any aspect of my lifestyle since, even though we've

shared meals together.

Had I not known how to stand up for myself, I could have faced years of inconsiderate

comments about my lifestyle choices.

I assure you that the above steps for how to stand up for yourself work like magic,

especially if you're an introvert.

But I hope that you won't just take my word for it.

Please do try these steps out for yourself.

Don't wait until an uncomfortable situation arises to begin.
