VEROSWEETHOBBY TE LLEVA A HAWAII! EL LUGAR MAS ESPECTACULAR PARA VACACIONAR! - Duration: 3:02.

Hi everyobody! I'm Vero

and this is my channel VeroSweethobby

and I'm so happy to bring you to this spectacular island!

Because its nature is so stunning and beautiful

and it also has the most delicious fruit!

There is a lot of pineapple!

What I love the most about this place is its happy people

they always greet you with a huge smile

and they are very polite and kind

and it's a beautiful place to enjoy nature.

Let's see this island together!

This is Maui, in Hawaii!

Breakfast in Hawaii is so delicious!

Starting with their pastries and their fruits

they are incredible and taste spectacularly fresh

it really makes your morning be very delightful.

I couldn't believe how many incredible pancakes I ate!

If you like food that is more elaborated,

they had separate trays for each taste.

We were very lucky to find a Luau!

and they invited us to dance with them,

but the only brave one in the group

was my little 6 year old daughter!

People in Hawaii are just happy

not sure it is the great weather, nature or their fruits

I don't know what it is.

In Hawaii, they greet you saying Aloha

It's such a beautiful word that means so much more than hi!

it means, love, peace, affection, compassion and kindness.

What I loved the most about Hawaii besides nature,

I found their food delicious

I loved the ocean! It gave me a lot of inner peace

like you don't know you have to stop until you stop

and it's like your body says enough!

I always wanted to be Baywatch!

I loved to show you around Hawaii

I'll see you in my next video, next week!

How to Share the Road with Motorcycles - GEICO - Duration: 0:54.

How to share the road with motorcycles.

Hey, Driver!

There's a few things you need to know about sharing the road.

Bikes are narrow, so they can hind in your blind spots or be hidden by other objects.

Look twice.

Motorcycles aren't always visible.

When motorcycle drivers slow down, they might use the throttle, not the brake, so you may

not see brake lights.

Treat motorcycles like cars.

Allow 3 to 4 seconds of following distance.

See that biker?

She's not being reckless.

She's navigating road conditions you might not be aware of.

Be courteous.

Road conditions affect motorcycles differently.

Because of the bike size, it can be hard to gauge how far it is and how fast it's going.

Be safe.

Motorcycle ares closer than they seem.

Just knowing more about your two-wheeled pals keeps everyone safer.

GEICO Motorcycle.

More than just car insurance.

Synths & Stuff #6 - RELAUNCH 2017 - Superbooth Special - Duration: 1:48:37.

Hello! That's Marius - Hi! And that's Ben. Welcome to the new synths & Stuff. New it is, because there

are a few old episodes that are already existing.

Focus we had there on going to musician friends, into their studios and take

a look at their workflow and we intend to continue this for sure!

New is now: Marius joined the team as well as Rapha behind the camera and we also want to

extend the topics a bit and add news, means: everything related to electronic

Music, what seems interesting to us, we will put up here...

and everything whats goin on for exapmle workshops or events such like fairs...

or anything like that, we will put an eye on. And perhaps

we will show some handy hints/tricks to you.

If you are new to the channel - you're welcome to subscribe, so you won't miss

new videos in the future... I'm Ben Bloodygrave. I am more out of a punkish enviroment.

I have previously played in what most people call rock / punk bands. In 2008 i bought my first Sytnhesizer

and that time i was into... Wave and Minimal music or somethin like that. I thought:

"Hey, i want to try this myself" and then I just started

experimenting. Had no idea what I'm doing... but then i got to know

more and more people with synths and i started asking them a lot i didnt know.

trough this, i just got the idea: Just put up your camera

and record everything those people have to tell you, so others can learn as well.

so, nowadays i am doing a kind of Synthpunk with EBM impact. Yes, thats all i got to say for now...

I'm Marius aka Bassinfected

i am into doing electronic music since about five years

I started first doing grindcore / metal / death metal stuff then

increasingly slipped into the electronic music. I work a lot digital with

Ableton but also modular analog synthesizers and i am doing now

quite a bit of jungle, drum n bass but also experimental, anything really.

This channel will not serve as our self-promotion, but

because there were already people asking, somewhen we show our studio setup

in detail. For those who are interested. But vor now, in this video here

we will take look into the studio

of Jack, from Soft Riot. Which I had visited in Glasgow. So lets have a look:

www.softriot.com

...And then we attended the Super Booth. I agree. We were only traveling with

smartphone camera. But if you are interessted to see what has been there

we will show you what we encountered and put our humle opinions to that.

you tell more about a workshop. We can actually do it right now..

So ok. The workshop was started under the name "Mutable March"

A whole project was launched. Mutable instrument is a company wich decided to do their

projects all "open hardware", so you can then interpret everything yourself and

get all parts/items and firmware everything directly from them.

And then you built it yourself. But all parts are SMD (Surface Mounted Device)

These are electrical components that are tiny tiny, only millimeters in size, so they are quite

difficult to solder. But I have also spoken with the people

and they sayed they wont offer smd parts no longer

because no one is really happy it

if you had no experience that's really tough to finish

an SMD project successful

They were also doing a second "after"workshops, because

there are still too many people, like me as well, wich weren't able

to finish it. But I have to say that

the organization was not that good this time. When i was there the first time, there have been

enough soldering irons in place and really more than enough working materials

but last time i just got the very last soldering iron

wich somehow got much to hot and

temperature could not be adjusted. This was the reason i fucked up

the whole board. So then i had to order a new one from england.

but luckily i got one in better quality and i started working on it again

at home. But now i am still waiting for help to upload the firmware on it

because i can't do this on my own...

it was a nice idea, but i think they learned their lesson

so they get back to normal radial parts wich

you put through holes and so on normal resistors etc

as a beginner you get along better with that

you also got a better overview of it, so i think they will do this next time.

We will put a link to this in the description, if your want to know more about that.

We will in future continue to point to events and workshops as I said, and at

best to look at our facebook page link is also down in the

description. We are posting all the stuff whats going on

not only in Berlin but also what seems interesting to us

Because we have one small tip. We also want to from time to time.

If we have some hints or we see something and say: "That's a nice idea

for people wich have a studio." And so this is:

some time ago i bought a midi cable. Wich is actually no Midi cable but a

5 pole keyboards and mice Cable. You get those onamazon for 7.69 €

Link to Amazon's description. This is a 5-pack of

these midi cables and actually I was looking for a extension cable because

I have some devices have where I cant see the back that good.. and i just wanted a cable that I can

plug in the back and back of the synth and write on it from where it is or where it goes to

amd then i can connect my other Midi cable from another instrument.

So i just found them online, they operate properly and are less expensive than many

other Midi cable. So T thought that's maybe be a nice idea what we

could thell the peole here. Thats it!

We were even asked if we could do something

especially for beginners. We were considering what we could

do. My first idea was that we just could

create a playlist on our channel, with all the basics and what is

synthesis in general. There is enough videos on this, i think we wont make own ones.

I think qe know some good channels and magazines, etc.

all places where you can learn about this

So I would just put together a playlist

maybe we make an extra intro video to the playlist and explain again

a little more... an pick something for you.

for people who say, "hey what's.. really?"

or "Can you explain..." It happened to me that someone

had bought a Microkorg and said, "Hey how does it work?"

Well good, I can not explain this quick in two sentences!

if someone not even knows what "waveforms" are for example.

if the basics are already missing ... I think we build something up in the future. For those people who have asked.

Ok, perhaps again very briefly

We were here on Saturday in Berlin on the FEZ

in the Super Booth. The Super Booth is an exhibition for electronic

equipment, synthesizers, modular equipment, musical instruments effects everything

possible. initiated by schneiders Laden

schneiders Büro. a business mainly for analog synthesizers

Who have organized just the second time

we were both there. Looked around a bit. and I just had the smartphone with me

and recorded a bit. we play the clips now, one after another

and tell a bit to every clip. Here we go!

Here Bastl Instruments, super cool! Have the boys as yet met later au nem

workshop. which I liked are the new panels they have, since they

but known for its wood panels are now available for the first time metal panels

offer are just super innovative and through this

like this idea just the guys have so this is not always

qualitatively the best but definitely still worth a look I'd say that.

always in any case purely let's see what will bring that.

I think that's still down in the foyer and later

Since then again comes a video which we will then announce again.

This is that story PopAnalog

SyntoNovo. I agree.

At first glance, it looked like an ARP or so a blend

I then later recorded what the big deal is. This is probably an old synthesizer brand

it no longer exists for some time. And you can see here how you to herumdrückst

but we both have not noticed that the keyboard is probably very besonderst

that this not only has an aftertouch, which we know already when going through presses the keys so but

that is, as in the Seabord ... that such a coating have oderso

and you can press down the keys and wiggle and then have like a kind mod wheel

So a slide effect or tremolo. 3D effect call the probably the

And wishing well bring out this keyboard still single I heard on another channel

Yes let's see. We were there did not realize at the stand.

I found the synth also really funny. I've turned so many buttons and everything sounded the same. Since I was away quickly.

But these are the things that I was sharp, equipment or trademarks of whom you have never heard anything.

The monster Case!

Custom Built

4. Video - Error Instruments

Error Instruments are also innovative

For me, in my opinion not so interesting

because a lot of circuit bending and

much lo-fi stuff Drone stories

but these spikes are quite funny, because as contacts by hand

created and thereby create new sounds so can

to handle these spikes and whichever one of which spikes at fässt- or which

combination is then again sound in others. quite funny.

but nothing now would be what I really wanted to get me out. If I think

no instrument where you can really say

so now do meaningful music. for me is more like a toy

That was this bitbox was this older gentleman who was kind to us

was really interesting and I have but now also seen in forums that

It was taken apart a bit so that many people do not it so

are convinced. and I must say not so stupid by the idea that her

Therefore, you can transfer the software each so you can buy

a module and has, so to speak, the choice which of these three I want

that was almost just a controller, a ribbon controller, where you fumble with the Sun

could Sliden to pitch bein influence the.

Oh that's an angle! Erica synths. Really good. unfortunately was always too much going on that

but since you could really play around in this polivocs imitations I

am happy with the modules. I have 1.2 piece, yes. I must say have the

again and again in the eye. look really nice and also'm still thinking of

to bring them some more. I just like this Picos. they are really almost the

you can see here in this small case very many of these pico it on

just 3 hp or so tiny module but then what already

quite a lot of power one has a lot of different ausführungen.- HP's broad?

-HP is the width of the modules, exactly. and there are quite a lot then

different, because there is one of the only trigger only for sequences and a

signals transmitting. a dsp, who then effects but then also up to eight

different from reverb to granular delay and so compelling and drums there then

where you can then draufladen even with a map of his own samples

and which can then trigger by. I now have for example also

the output at home. so I then just

Industrial music Elektronics - damn who this

horny Sticker: This synth kills Fascists, and so on.

Kuck times on the table is still such a pile with all

many flyers and stickers and buttons and so on

my flatmate had pretty laugh when she saw me everything

room've distributed.

That was probably this sticker here ...

exactly pretty cool. we had also really try our

entering money in bags and t-shirts etc rauszuholen again. - For me, it paid for itself!

I mitgemommen patch cables 10! And my have I given you. Since you have half Eintrittsgel already there.

Make Noise, which are very popular. So who modules can be seen in just about every rack

but I must say that are just me somehow strange look from her. the

Although always look ultra crazy out but I want to know just really

and this is the output and the controller makes this - not sufficiently labeled?

-irgendwie already but you have to always look pretty much somehow

and somehow everything so I have to look at everything two or three times that I only

raffe times what is where. I have the module simply made too confusing so a bit

I have nothing of those. I look at the not so often to be honest

said. Because I do not like the look. actually they look beautiful but yes

the work they are then shit I think. too confusing for me.

had times as a semi modules synth I've tried to load into schneiders

and I did not get a ton out. I had someone next door are the intended

I'm sure about the idea fully and in general. and then I'll be there in reason and soil

lost because there I had no idea. - That happens to me just as often because if I face any

stand flagships or so and then I think, "Ahh ok ... ähhmmm" So no idea.

and especially if then only is a hole where only one donut is drum herrum

painted or so. Since you think is "mh ... what comes out of there now? Or is there purely what? I do not know"

Just, you know nichmal which is the input that the output.

Here we are on Waldorf

Waldorf was disappointingly small. - I found also. So who saw this Quantum Synthesizer

not bad. somehow their large display and so on ... me now but not really

dressed interestingly I found I when I do go into the modular

would that would be great ... um like to say that again? This modular keyboard? - I do not know. That you get but otherwise also quick to point ...

That is also everything Eurorack right? - Yes exactly. - But Waldorf ey ...

who have so many devices: this fat spread, rocket etc ...

Just those little boxes, because I would have liked playing around times. - Exactly.

This was non-st there. - Yes, unfortunately. Was disappointing on so many other brands as well.

then we'll get to yet. But that was one of them.

Eowave These are again Drone stories.

I have not so great looked and I must say that are

Also very cool I think. The also have a lot of DIY stories so therefore of which I've already

a step sequencer in mind. To see you because I believe in the very image

Left. as a red device. I have quite a bit in the eye.

costs about 100 euros, the DIY kit. For a sequencer with 8 steps. Since you can not fault it.

I considered from time to time ... next time I'm somehow the 100 euros left

have. Then comes the the rack.

Vermona Was also a bit

disappointing. I could at least the retro verb lancet times

test because I would like to me to my PerFourMer

to make because he once visually to match. And secondly because before I'm still looking

after a reverb and so an analog spring reverb with little filderstadt kram

still in there. The looks exciting from. Alternatively still Eventide out of the question, but

a bit more expensive and are digital.

I think probably it will be a Retroverb are lancet. Let's see. But otherwise

here much modular, you can see a lot. But for example this Vermona Synth14

I would like to try and even the DRM3 or as the means

not have been like there. - of course, their modular and partly very beautiful.

But I have not so in mind. - I think I just, old, German

Brands have little journey way in comparison to Americans and bring their

things did not expect to ... I'd have more, but bitched enough. There's more coming.

Sherman This is again something to dream about. These filter banks

The ultimate filter banks. I've also heard it live in action

have since been reversed itself off. Not on the Super Booth, but at

someone at home, so I'm very confident sound of that.

So I think I've been pretty cool. - But the four-digit price range.

for such a filter bank 1,300 euros lie that would be me personally too stupid. - The man must have been very badly want then.

I would love to but take the award for me simply bright.

Unfortunately 4MS was always too much going on, of course. 's understandable with the award winners

with their new looping DeIay and what they have it all over.

I like the. I have of them already one two

things built. 've also always like an eye. But can not now

so much to say about the new stuff. Because there's just too much going on ever was.

If one has noticed. In the popular stuff was always someone there where you then not

could really deal in peace with the things. as could

you most times someone else look over your finger.

Perhaps you can hear the in the videos and straight. There was just a noisy backdrop ... a noise ...

1,000 people who talk against each other and even more Sythesizer the anfiepien against each other

and was then already difficult ... even if someone had taken the time ...

to us what really specifically shown again something or imagined then

out listening to everything exactly ... with headphones went in part.

But were often monitor speakers there, with which many people something to show

of course, is quite nice, but with so many equipment next to each other ...

The overwhelmed sometimes a bit. -just in the narrow corridors. Whoa there it was

partly really really loud. -Did you noticed. - hot and noisy and stuffy.

Verbos The Berlin Vorzeigemodulierer. I know that also

only from the look here, with these red pots

They're also fairly well known. Since you do not need

so much to say. If you know you will be modular

quickly encounter Verbos and also to the quality that make the guys.

I was not great at standing because most things I have ever seen anywhere

or me even to satisfy watched but was nice to

in any case they warn there. They also had pretty much

all there, what they offer, I think.

That was the Doepfer stand. He was

nice size. But that's just this standard thing somehow.

So opinion is that things just like that sound a bit like it outside.

Plastic. Sterile. have a few things I have of them. A two tools ... etc an LFO

Since you can not go wrong easily. But I have less and less in the eye.

which have again brought out some new oscillators the

should be apparently pretty good Quadrature ThruZero FM oderso ...

Should be exciting. But I have now not a big

had eye on it. But the stand was really going on surprisingly little,

for that they have issued their half or even entire product range. but much as not many turn.

Also Dark Time and so ne things, so actually everything.

Oh, that was up to the DX1. A brute thing. I do not know to what the

have made the standing there. Again was so much going on. - That was so bending circuit, right? Ahh no that

these effects were pedals, exactly! The DIY also were not you? Anyway, I've taken n poster.

Teenage Engineering Super cool! was super nice finally this part in

action to be seen. - OP-Z or? The most encouraging news we get from

have heard this gentleman is that of OP-Z is expected to cost less than the OP-1

I had thought only times that is likely to replace in

the price level and the OP-1 then oderso cheaper. Wober it now

meant he has will be cheaper than the OP-1, which is of course very, very

is interesting. I think that's part simply departed with all the video effects

what you can do with it with the hdmi input or output that you

can control entire beamer stories with his synth.

Since one should but then probably a separate box or something to buy ... so very

stand alone, it will not be. on the one hand I find it exciting

a synth, a sequencer, a looper, a drum machine, etc ... So really like the OP-1 also

So all in there. Quasi one bags one gets where actually theoretically

nothing else needed. but if you then just as one that

seen here in video, these visuals etc ... that's here from an iPad

which is connected with usb. But he said for beamers and so on ...

... which are still in development, which we must not forget ....

that comes indeed out until september

And when it comes out and then the finished product ... that was exactly here

yes even the prototype ... then I'll also take a closer look me

look at. For I could also imagine such a thing still take

easy to run to visuals. - So he probably meant it ...

not that you're still brauscht an extra device but he meant

sees that so that he and a device for music, one for visuals but

both can somehow control together. But I'll definitely my

left to some eyes. I have now seen again has lots of

CV in and out and you can probably control himself if the one or Out

to order and generally do whatever. Assignable outputs you can always

use. I have the eye on the thing and was really nice the

to see again live action. - You would not now sees the Viedeo

that there danneben the whole Pocket operator were stories. There also was something new out.

and new drums have the well and 8-bit sounds that can be? - Yes that could be right. - I would not say no if I

would offer one! But so expensive are not yes. Yes 60 € to turn around the. But still.

Next Video: Dreadbox

Yup! Super sexy!

I am excited about those. ... ah and there one can still see the beautiful long papers by Ask Audio!

I've also very celebrated: "Get some additional inspiration" They know their target audience easily.

As you can see the Erebus and new rear this is blue ... what's his name again ... Abyss

Similar to the Vermona I would have bought the other day.

"Ok, a four-polyphonic in which: Or when I had a look around after I saw Vermona

one quasi select the game-modes can he

monophonic with four oscillators or four polyphony etc ... you can

Of course not select quite as much

modulation options like the Vermona. But I also found exciting!

and but I think also a bit cheaper. when several

Oscillators needs. So I think generally Dreadbox very interesting what the

just bring out or brought out in recent years, these Erebus or Hades ...

If I wanted to get somehow again a smaller synth then

I would definitely choose one of them because the sound incomparably

pure analog sound but really. Beautifully simple. Always. since machts

just fun on the pulse With oderso way of fixing. - Can I find exciting. Great.

Recommended. You mus say, we look at the video for the first time at

We have not even looked through. Have simply sat down and look at the now.

Koma Elektronik was also very nice. The filter is known and also this

step sequencer. I do not know how to say ...- But nothing new.

Ahh complex sequencer. Looks repays very good.

In sequencers I'll always noisy. That's so a field looking where I'm always ... what's so new.

But makes sense with Modularsytem most. While he has MIDI outputs

but I think that would not be worthwhile for me now and I have no Modular.

Which is just huge in size. There are indeed four sequencer in a so

4 sequences that you can use completely independent.

I now have nothing new that I think mitgekriegt far as I know.

if I have luck, I look at those also soon be over again. so, here in

berlin have invite these common grounds where you can also make DIY and stuff

a workshop they offer. Since you can then go up everything

for soldering technique, etc. - Oh really? - Yes. Need to bring anything. Can there simply

out. Can you buy a kit, can in the workshop you right back

put together and build there. -Very good! Since competent people are you

and even look over her shoulder. I have indeed made himself never been there

but I do think that I'll stop by here again. I -Würde even just once with to watch.

- I do not do not know exactly, because I myself have not tried it but have apparently

the there also very tasty beer.

And even brandy too. every now and then have the sometimes very small

events. But matching purely a maximum of five people. -So let it work for you.

Here were again quite a lot of crazy, physical acoustic things. and this

schallplatte rotates here with this beeper. and any spoon the

beaten to test tubes.

Kilpatrick. - Ah yes siehste who I meant. -They have

this sequencer. Carbon. Sees repays from all chic.

The looks exciting. I had looked at me closer sometimes but

ultimately be lost to the Pyramid. Which is now at my home. Because he had promised me more.

What one reads online about Cabon: The one not say that the carboxylic

has the best manual and is not as clear. again, many

has submenus or somehow feel combos and I did not want to.

I wanted a sequencer running well. The looks from the design somehow strong

by Octatrack from I find. So after electron sequencer I think.

with these sterile round buttons up. -Yes. And I find Kilpatrick, who even this semi-modular

Synths you see in the picture below left.

- This is the phenol

who indeed get good critiques actually. - I just do not understand ... why

use the other sockets there if I understood it correctly, you can

because not ran with normal klinken cable. - That's so ne jacks that I know

nor of the art lesson. Banana plugs oderso.

Exactly. I find that kinda stupid so that then the

just can not integrate into its Eurorack. so a bit eigentor what they because

have shot. For me would be such a thing really interesting,

I would like to see right away, but if I can once I see the Sun

do not use with my Eurorack. then the down immediately so I look at all

not on it. - By itself, an exciting booth, but the phenol was not interested in you and

the carbon now has not really interest me, since I had already occupied me in the run-up to it.

And this Gameboy ... what's his name again ....

Tungsten. Here it is.

Since everything kannste with smartphone or make a tablet.

Let's move on. Next video.

the city is the Ableton. Now that we have looked not so much,

I would argue for both of us now times. I see what's going anyway always so with

Ableton. Because I also use it. So I know what's new, so to speak.

I know from my joy circle that use a lot of Ableton.

I myself do not use it.

Although I eh not so much do with software. I could with any freeware

aufzeichen stories. -Dir enough Audacity. -Probably.

I have here a hardware recorder I use my Zoom

I have to say where I'm exhibition stands on the software rather simple

walked past. - So I have to say, software is something that you look

then you can also look at home times.

Jomox, what was new? Alpha Base. A lot was going on. And me now

not really dressed. - I would have very much time around off

played because've heard many times that should be very crass.

I know of Jomox another synth in size. I do not know

just as he is. But since I have already heard crazy sounds. so I

would definitely keep checking it, keep an eye and I must also say

that probably are auserhalb my price range.

Music Factory. That was just software stuff

Exactly.

There were just a few stands with tablets- or computer software

etc had ... - Yes, he had told me. He said they make ...

(I'm not sure if it was a separate module for it) but in any case

they want software integrated with modular systems. He has given me

shown, there was a filter oderso and since he just wiped only back and forth.

And then the filter in modular systems responded. but I find everything is not

so exciting because these are also all Midi control devices I would say.

actually what one knows by heart all in and. And what you also

could make reactor etc.

they just see all the colorful and blinkig from but whether the now really what

and thus come to me for my workflow

now less I would say. What we have here U-He

To U-He I can say that getting good software. never disappoint. Make many software synthesizer

the analog in direction. have a warm touch. Are not quite as sterile

as the normal digital dinger. -OK! - And the interface

easy surface, always adapted to

Roland etc he is also ultra classic and otherwise

AVID, even ultra crass deck and otherwise

something ... but yes, I'm not a pro tools user. will probably also for me

not really worth it.

Pyramid, exactly. That's like saying my newest

Sequencer. I am not yet risen at all, but I

believe that it is now finally. I'm through with meiiner search.

Very good.

Cirklon

Danneben were these imitation jewelry. The is supposed to be cool but then I've also not accurately looked upon

because I thought in this price range ... I do not know what it cost for the, just

2000 Euros about, right? - Not at all looked upon. -Übel expensive.

and you have half a year waiting to have the you assembled. - Yes thank ey.

not even for the money they move her ass!

They had beautiful stickers. -is probably hand carved. -I think so

Malekko

Whatever beautiful things. but was going too much.

Had I not around much chance to play it. I would have gladly times the anti oscillator

belongs in real terms. For this I've already seen quite a few videos because that looks interesting, but live I have to unfortunately

not heard correctly. - That was one of those dark loud,

stuffy corridors. As we went further fix.

Here we are at Synthesizer GRP. Although I have taken something Matierial me, but I

do I find on the fast probably not ... -Sahen but super sexy! from the look

her impressive in any case. We have dealt returns nothing really there with the sound

but we brought both material and wanted

the again look at a bit more closely. - I agree.

Sehgen from top in any case. Unfortunately I can not say what kind of a price range ...

Since I generally see me for sequencer and step sequencer interested have

I have the times looked upon me. Especially the devices above.

Standing on top of it, these are the Step Sequencer well.

Prices about 1200 €. - Did I almost thought. - So MSRP, possibly to get the

somewhere for 1000, or at least something cheaper, no idea. Repays almost three times what a Dark Time costs.

But looks something exciting in any case. Probably more modulation options.

- Definitely. I think there is quite a bit with the parts.

- I think. The stand was repays an eye-catcher. Oh man.

Who simply so an impressive Outlook. -Beautifully big and bulky.

Large pots, large boxes. Nice. - Bunte Lichter that shine!

What more do you want. The main thing it flashes and squeaks and rattles.

That was the replica (conversion) of this Alesis synth ?!

What is the name of the? Andromeda A6. Yes.

That was not a Alesis booth,

but ... -nee this was a guy who has worked to himself.

- Here from AMAZONA! (Www.amazona.com) Since lying all this synthesizer buttons

around. - Exactly! He said he has himself somehow times

found somewhere and has redesigned itself and umbebaut. With the new pots, etc. -Exactly

I was also impressed. The looked amazing.

Of course, I know just do not like the Alesis original looks like and what the can.

To play we did not come here because others were engaged tweak.

Then you continue ...

PACER

And danneben this Digitalle Mellotron

- This ultimate Simple .... -This is a replica of a Mellotron. This had indeed almost for

each key is had a single tape. What then runs like a sample.

And that will be the same principle. For each key a sample ...

Quite as it was not because you had an octave (pitchbend)

but there was a knob of from a to b and c could turn and then

you could because you had three different sounds. So where I there

had the option was a kind of male choir. Then it went

over, I do not remember exactly, there was still repays

a violin in it and yet a third sound. You could then

morph back and forth between the sounds, with this button. And the octave playing.

For me this is such a thing for people to play the piano or keyboard rather

and who want to choose something quickly. Zack-Zack, here I have the sound.

And can immediately start buttons on dei to cut.

That's exactly the opposite of what I do.

I just press a button and turn on many buttons!

TIPTOP AUDIO

also looked super interesting, and I then

which then so felt a bit strange because I now seen in retrospect

I know that the guy who stood the whole time and has turned the knobs: this is

the guy from TipTop Audio, has at least the this was represented ... and who exactly

seen that we stand quite interested in the things around,

look and make and do. But who but which do not interfere, and had

just made his music and I found a bit crass. So I thought

actually, theoretical want so sell what

and he should have a bit worry about the people since then but the

us even more put off the things time to check out right

because that was his movie it and has turned its sound. I Fande a

bit of a shame because I would have really like this new sampler to the

Built looked at.

They have a new module. like so many, there is the now card with sd, sampler.

But that is apparently the first sampler just does not sound like a

Sampler, funnily enough. If you know what I mean. You make a sample

on the sampler. You play the on different pitches and so on

then you just listen to it quite quickly that it is a Sampel. , In the simple

not the case. I can not explain why why why ...

but I've also been a youtube video seen where really convincing

real sounds. It sounds more like a synth as a sampler. -Ok, I can not judge now ...

So in any case, even a glance value. tiptop always audio. I am

which also very satisfied. Have the time and again in the eye. Have also a

modular home from the. this ZDSP, it's also such a flagship of those.

More than satisfied. The thing is the hammer!

Then we are at Curetronic. - Uh, no idea.

-Also no idea. But they probably always with a small penis.

A corner where it was too stuffy and loud ...

so we're it not been for a long time. Audio Workshop was cool. It was nice with the

chatting typ times. To be well hopefully soon encounter in the

19 "Stammtisch -. Exactly.

Who where they meet and a new place. It is well

no regularity in it but it definitely now in OHM, here in

Berlin. And he's definitely quite a few

interesting device. I find the look of which also

Pretty cool. I mean that all just show, he gave us

said. The housing-circuit boards do not function

from the top down. are all well separated and so on so that there

sometimes somehow a sweat drops can lose it without something

somehow everything blows the same. but have to say the device would be for me

too expensive for what they do. he he very designed everything on MIDI

does and I generally completely gone himself from MIDI away so because I now

Only CV and gate use. - Would rather for me, but as I said ...

A midi drum sequencer or a 16 step sequencer? - I think 16 but I'm not quite sure ...

While seeing chic but about 350 € about ... but I do not know ....

in which drum sequencer could look again more closely but

especially with the step sequencer as you get for something a little more money,

much better. I am thinking of the stuff from Doepfer. -Just.

And maybe something where even sound comes out with and not just MIDI

outputs. - Or with CV. As the Dark Time. -Oderso something yes. -Was but nice to see that.

I did not even know that yes. What he hatter there? MIDI to CV converter, etc ...

And did not look too bad with these design circuit boards.

These were all Clock Generators

or Divider. Cute It's definitely, cool idea is all

made by himself. He said he always starts pads with about 20x piece and

looks like it sells, then carry on.

It is worth to support such a thing in any case. - Let's look more closely.

Sometimes even look at the website, which I have not done.

I think there are people that the more interested than us now. Is not bad in any case what he

Sun offers.

Also cute plush synthesizers on the wall. - Yes!

Digitana

Ahh, that this "in the glass box" was synth!

That was FSOL - Digitana

T-shirts they have given us!

"Digital pocket synth and Eurorack module". Somehow it looked exciting with the display!

I thought since you can as the OP-Z visuals

raushauen but the lady etc (the kindly yet shirts and

gave bags) can not explain exactly because that's all

probably still prototypes. -Eben, you said, this is not finished yet

develops and why it's still in the glass case inside. So these visuals

but is to come is not yet fully mature and therefore was the

also not available for demonstration purposes.

-Hätte interests me! - Would have liked also times it turned around, etc. Have we not

immediately said pack anything in a glass box and it looks immediately interesting !?

-Yes, exactly!

Since the same we needed to go and see! "Oh a quietschgelber Synth in a glass box What! He probably ?!

- Yes! it was so interesting now and it's also remained after we abgechecked what it is.

First of all have to wait to know what there is to come. Can perhaps go for a while.

Until then really what comes out ... End of year you probably thought.

Right! What have we here?

TOUELLSKOUARN

Ahh that these new .... are no ahh!

These were the also DIY kits! See partly not at all times from bad.

Who amp Distortions and stuff. Do everything possible VCOs also I think.

And VCFs. But these are, (when I saw it right) Americans - and that is a bit stupid here

to raise Europe ... these DIY kits.

Imer actually worth a look.

PITTSBURGH was also nice!

A bit of a shame that they have their patchkabel not get moved, because they look so beautiful.

They had lying around so many of them and then did not even come out of! - The bastards!

But there was the state of REASON. - Your new best friend! - That's what I celebrated!

MUSIC THING MODULAR was super cool! This Coiul or electric coil ...

electromechanical module which you can now purchase ... - Ahh yes I've seen times on video.

You can see that here also the same in the video. These guitars pickups.

Since we will record also the sound of the video ...

This is, in principle, in terms of function, such as a pickup from an electric guitar.

You can theoretically from nem copper wire even wrap for a few €.

So you can listen to radio waves.

This can be easily integrated into its modular system, which you have built over these amplifiers.

Who has the same funtionsprinzip as the microphonic. This is the same, only with contact microphone.

The have been a while and now this "Coil" ... I think something like this is the,

because is the technical term for it. - Have the the same with this uranium module?

No that's ERROR INSTRUMENTS, which were the ones with these spikes in the beginning ...

-Ah okay! - And also a Gameboy module ... where eir it had it before.

So a real Gameboy from Nintendo.

- But this is indeed rather Experimental ... -To turns good Drone Sounds!

Where MusicThing Modular yes did everything possible instrumental also ...

I also have an eye on their spring reverb, including a spring back in there.

This is a small DIY kit which will cost € 100, but that's all sold out, because the sounds super cool.

just has a great sound for real little money. True, who had indeed

yet this tape ding! That's just the head of a tape recorder, right?

And fill in a few tracks tape that you see stuck here. And he just leaves.

The sound to be heard straight.

Like scratching. I have ever seen, this idea,

but now that there is a module ... - I wanted to say that the idea is not new just ...

I've seen this only as DIY kits now and that they really those things

need to produce in mass production. That's just not something else.

SONIC Potions

Also very cool! where one there waiting to death.

The guy is probably not really get going.

The now get so gradually the little things to the series

The Penrose I had built myself. With which I am also

pretty happy. This is a very fast quantizer. He should probably faster

be like eg the Döpfer device in contrast to it. One has since seen,

who have this dual oscillator, which still

to come out and nor any other module not ready for what

is should also come out. The all look very interesting

but you have no idea when the last to hit the market.

Stylish design and I think the idea here is not bad.

ADDAC SYSTEM

They had this beautiful tape delay, I just had to shoot ...

NOVATION

They were a very mysterious stood. - With such a large space, yes.

The haten yes newly introduced the "peak". but it was also impossible everywhere turn to

come and people are snake stood ...

in the foyer of a standing time around but stop without harps and sequencer and nothing

and as I could then nothing rausholen unfortunately. I would like to have time

tested. Is said such an analog / digital waste-be ... or was the completely digital?

- No, I think that is already analogous but has definitely several voices.

- Digital voice and analog filter? I can not remember ... you can also

read more detail online all who here are the details

interest to the individual devices. - there was the new drum machine yet ...

-This is no drum machine (I only themselves misunderstood), but that's almost like

a Bass Station 2, so to speak, only without harps. But with the Seqenzer off

So the Novation Circuit. -Also not a bad idea!

One can probably use Paraphon that one quasi then both

oscillators can drive sequencers so separated by 2. - Cool!

I found not bad, but you have to know yourself whether there for a bass station 2

makes more sense. Both together probably makes less sense ...

For someone like me, a sequencer is always more interesting than

to have keys.

RK - Retrokits They were here with the intelligent MIDI cable

-I agree. This is especially for people with Volcas

work interesting. - There nevertheless was something else ....

There's these little warning mixer. As DIY selbstbau kit for 20 or 25 €. Go I would still get me one of those. - Cool repays.

What had still ... this MIDI Hub

the quasi automatically detects how many inputs to the outputs many are off.

It is well no matter what you use as input because then recognize immediately: here comes

signal in - and then he immediately converts all about.

So is the signal then to all other outputs then.

You can probably use the merger as. So that you can have two input and then on

can create multiple outputs or so. That would be really exciting because such a thing could I myself also

imagine for me. If I somehow work with several sequenzenr and then

still want to distribute 2, 3 devices and possibly merge ... Since you can save money I think.

Because such merger kostetn also a bunch of money on the other manufacturers, I think.

So I find by itself from design her looks chic, it is

compact, nicely done, a good idea. This is something definitely what one eye

can keep. -How are called? RK - Retrokits

XOR Electronics What was that again? Oh this strange Rack! It looked

as if you were there taken C64 Commodore disks and pushed it somewhere

would or so. Also from the sequencer ago ... Yeah, very funny.

Was no one there who could tell us what .. - No. The probably wanted to sell anything!

-I think so ... -But I'll watch it anyway times online. Exciting. Looks like Multitracker.

WINTER MODULAR

What it was here again, I can not see it?

In addition to these cases? - The sequencer: Eloquenzer - Ah, that's right! from this step sequencer which one sees as the rack.

Next to it was someone who actually built only the cases.

The sequencer I have looked upon me not accurate.

Here was a workshop. -just as have the beautiful soldered.

there were also 1-2 Bastl instrument somewhere people.

Yes, that was just the Bastl workshop.

Just most of them have made Bastl instrument cases.

I want to actually still ask if they know what that means in German ...

True, those are Czechs, but maybe it's a similar word.

CLAVIA NORD

Was nothing intoxicating what one would have blown away.

you know actually what it was all there.

YAMAHA

Yamaha was mega crass! Very cool stand with stage. We came in there and just because you can also see the live musicians

had the set the focus on the Reface stuff and a bit performs.

I must say I was overwhelmed and really ... there were so many

Equipment around. Workstations - with whom I now do not really know much about.

Not only the workstations, provide a true piano ... even a grand piano! ...this direction.

Everything is designed for piano.

Is less for me that says I'll start now first with a pure square wave! - I have even

the Yamaha DX Reface. The is also chic. I would say, who knows the Microkorg and likes will also like the

in shape. Even with built-in speakers,

also battery powered, etc. So also quite nice on the go.

And no plastic toys, like the Volcas so a bit ... but that's really well made.

Here we stand on the killer Desk. Hammer part. Help!

Since I need first a new digs. - Me too!

I would not know where to stand that. - Then you continue ...

Synth-Werk

This is the Moog verschnitt. I agree.

Looked very nice, but one has since something great

belongs? I do not know. -A bit ... I do not even know whether one now hears ... We are only briefly

the eyes have stood still in front of us and drop it out of my head ...

ROLAND

Since I had the XA and Xi a bit recorded. I wanted to hear times.

That's the Roland System 8 Since I had otherwise only

Gisterüchte heard that it is intended to give maybe. The the the

Jupiter make eight times as Plugout ... but now seen for the first time.

Oh, that was my highlight! The little astronaut test!

There as extra again a video? How do I attach this thing inside?

Sure, of course! Our astronaut !! -The woman there was always afraid of my hair!

OK, I jest but also see that it looks a bit tight ... it was funny!

was fun! -The was nice there, all around to Roland everything was so

Astronauts moderate and NASA stuff.

Did you noticed that this trainer astronauts audio trigger had? - Yes has made sound.

There was such a small modular system on the side, one has but rarely heard.

As you can see it!

That was not so noticeable.

Polivoks That was really Witzig

The found you cool! - Who found my hair just great ... -He said the green suits their logo!

He would like to give to such a part for me! I find really cool, I'd like a home.

That is the replica of this old Polivoks. Geiler, dirty sound. Have so a bit

playing around. Which of course is wrong, is the Cyrillic lettering.

On the back is a translation. But I can imagine if you have such a at home,

you quickly out what everything means. -But for the first time is the stupid, yes.

SCHMIDT Exactly, this ultra ultra expensive things. 20,000 € oderso.

That was at Moog in the corner. -I agree

Also nice, but nothing new. So nothing that you have not seen before.

Here: Sub37, Sub Phatty, Moog Mother, Minimoog Model D's that right?

Since all people warning very busy. And since Cuckoomusic had a

Video shot and was accordingly as stop action and bustle ...

RME there was! - True, the interfaces. - Nothing but the brand I think that's great.

But true! They had something new: Interfaces I had never seen before. So I

think these are just newer models of the old interfaces.

So and so in terms of size ... I could not me unfortunately everything really

but look as I might also investigate again right.

Again go to the internet site and then look for commands again exactly.

But RME is always worthwhile. If you want to have an interface that really

sounds good, you do not get nearly over it.

Let's go to the next ...

TEGELER power mastering studio

hardware. What less for us

is interesting, I would say that. - repays Very impressive.

- Sure, very impressive from the look ago but nothing we somehow Us

could afford.

MODAL also nice from the look here. Oh those were the with this MORDOR

or as of yet named. On the lower floor we had to again

seen in white or? -Yes.

And I fande the Eurorackfliter of the Mordor good.

who had not a formant of the very, very clean sound but it was still

one hundred percent ready. So there were probably no buttons off the

function had until now. So he "said to me this is a prototype and

which is not very mature, "but

This part I found Schick!

Here we are imnächsten video ... I do not even remember which one was? -I unfortunately can me no more

quite to the brand recall as the hot

but I have the funny enough, a day later saw a competition on the internet

where you could win such a part. Where I then of course participate on an equal

had to. Won course I did not but

I found the super cool forth by the idea. Although it was not really even DIY

if it looks like. This is all just to put together and there's all

pre soldered. -I agree. And then you have such a small synth

is somehow monophonic but also can play chords. Somehow the chords can. There is also a

interface to that but can digitally control everything simply

can turn on the button analog. This then has the same effect. -Not bad!

What was the price? - He was ultra cheap, between 79 euros and 100 euros.

For this, does the really good! Exciting. So a beginner thing. We hide the name:

MFB

There was not much new. -Yes Dominion club was probably a new one.

I read here again just after ... The new Nanozwerg PRO

Who is now modular. I found the Nanozwerg always quite cool. I then had a time

Long himself at home. Who also always nice snotty sounds

given her. But at some point I just noticed

I actually almost no longer use the system always when my Modular

grew and so on ... Then he speak simply outlived its usefulness.

I've since sold to someone who was very very happy.

Has a wide grin as he ran out with it. But I guess that

was because because I made one very good price and do not share yes

be made and I've seen are for

sold over 200 €. What was not even the original price. - Oh crass!

Sold more expensive than it was then. - Yes, there are times when something is found and there is a special

had property. - I have to stop selling for the same price

I then bought it and so I thought this is a fair deal.

And he was happy. I can recommend it, right now

he Modular probably take a few extra features to you.

Where he had previously been semi-modular. Who had already CV and Gate etc

And LFO out, etc. What I have seen from the Dominion club, I'm not sure

whether the easy now only the mini-version is no idea of the Dominion 1,

or even Dominion X there yes, this great, right?

Was not bad but tried by sound forth itself, I have not got it,

was also busy on the stand.

What was there yet? Dancing mouse dancing bear and so what is familiar to MFB.

ROSSUM ... with this ultra funds Morpheus filter!

This cube. So who has a small display in which one felt a certain in every corner of the cube

Filter type can use and then there is probably a morphing function

so that you can then move between the corners back and forth and then

it morphs probably between these filter back and forth. Had it not made the

heard there but looks definitely super good but just as he looks

he is also the price lichen. So that is probably not particularly cheap, unfortunately.

But in any case, an interesting device.

EXPERT SLEEPERS Since I have a bit more but expect clear

who also have not so much in principle.

Since I was with it closer to ENDORPHINES. Was nice again a little chat with them.

Endorphines is simply one of my favorite brands which

As a modular, with ... at Expert Sleepers I come just a little bit

behind what made the sp. And this Disting's just very extensive.

But now that I understood the part

I am very happy with it and I've been thinking to get at least one second.

The Disting is simply a 16 in 1 device. Since you have the Phaser to delay, etc. but can also be a

Be oscillator, so you can easily switch as you please

and, for that reason because it is so versatile, you can it at least two or three

without hesitation put it in your modular system. There's even an SD-Card with

Sample playback and MIDI playback on it. So you can MIDI files on there

an SD card which are then fired to make modulus of the as CV or gate

signals. should both top brands that you definitely check out.

Endorphines show off their stark oscillator, which sounds very own with

Buchla Design I'd say now. Everything is so West Coast but inspired

Extra wave shaping section still in the process with.

As you get something for your money.

The Soulsby were cool! A digital thing. looks nice

trippy out. A mixture of a step sequencer and an effects unit. Although one probably because

may transfer the software back and forth, because that is all digital.

-From the modules there?

Not only the modules, also from the devices! - Ah ok! The link was an arpeggiator?

Yes, and that right was an effect unit. This had Delay etc string Machine is here.

Ahh true !!

Here we warn yet nervous on performance. The endorphins had a shuttle. It was nice once the complete things to see.

The other had a Moog. What exactly I have not seen. But both were from the sound ago

really pretty. That was live music improvisation. You could see that

but just do not know the part exactly what they're doing was interesting!

Not our music. But we have looked inside briefly. There were at

the fair ... maybe you can see that yes here ...

Full program! This is just on Saturday!

10:00 to 0:30 pm and from 19 o'clock was then the

Fair closed. Then there were only a few events, etc.

I now times do not count for how many points these are now ... anyway, we thought, for we

just pure stumble somewhere, it's ok, but if we do not spend our time here

trying to see only the people making music.

Let us first view equipment. But if we want to sit down anyway times, we go a look.

This was a nice break to breathe short order times. Because it was really exhausting, the

as by squeezing all the time between people.

We also have been through no workshops. Although there was the option ...

The fair was indeed from Thursday to Saturday.

So if you really want to take anything, and so all workshops .... So you have to

then really make every day. But for just one day? We were

then really quite in the bucket then! I do not even know when we're gone ... but hurt my feet!

Yes, that was steep.

Modor, again.

As we had previously seen this one video ... here are the small boxes.

There is also the filter I had mentioned earlier.

POLYEND That was this sequencer.

Since I'm here still something I had taken ... -Looks any case greatly from!

Has certainly more tracks. Reminds me a bit of the yamaha ... what is the name of again?

Yes, we did it! These were the videos! I hope it was not too

detail! We have not even a video of all ranks

made. But where we stopped I have my camera

draufgehalten for a comprehensive insight what it was since so.

So now: Ups and Downs - good and bad:

I was surprised that so much Modular were there! And I'm still not in the

enter modular synthesis! That's still not mine, of several

start ... And I was also surprised that some

Brands were not represented. Casio was not there,

Dave Smith Instruments was not even there. And also determines some

others that did not occur to me. There were definitely some brands

not there, with the one you might have expected.

I was disappointed also by Behringer stand ... - The Beginning dismantled.

We were there on Saturday ...

perhaps it was 16:00 or so. But it was the middle of the

Day of the fair. We have since paid admission, which were about 30/35 €

That was not so cheap. And we stand for Behringer and there is only one

Deep Mind 6 there. And the other: Model D, ...

Everything degraded already. I think Arturia already ...

- Arturia was only very small. I think the

were somewhere in the corner. - Ah can be! What did you have

issued: the black edition of the Beat Step Pro etc. So all one in black and

bit more cables are there there. But the matrix brute I did not

seen! Was there already gone? I thought that was a little breakdown ...

Then I think to myself: "Hey guys, on Saturday, as you can but really to the end

still hold out or "- Actually, yes was a bit of a shame..

Otherwise I might have wished for more "surprises".

So where I think to myself "Wow crass!" Such as the Roli Seaboard

or Harkon Continuum board what they had just seen since ... So input devices ... Or like this

PopAnalog what we had seen at the beginning ... Such things would have irritated me more.

Sequencers were some there. I thought that was nice. Modular course, was the crowd.

From KORG stand we have no videos strikes me straight!

The only thing was there a little surprised me was this Microkorg S

in white. Seems to be a normal Microkorg, only with more memory.

- Yes have now again a few things new, in white, brought out.

MS 20 also. - Really? OK! -Yes, just in white .... and no more! - Mh ... if you need that so ...

in ELECTRON Booth we were still been, but since we did not video. - Was there too full.

Since the hell was going on. was presented this

Digitakt what is effectively a sample machine. So MPC might mäßg.

Did not look so interesting. - Was for me not so exciting ...

Hexinverter I missed. The modules are from Canada.

Eie want but now that I know, draw in the summer in Berlin.

Who pretty cool drums. All my drums are

of Hexinverter. Which are now just back there and have some new

brought things out. Recently, a new filter have brought out

Now a while already to have. For a few days there is a

but the noise is oscillator volt per octave controlled, so you can the noise in

alluding different pitches. And then probably still want

what rausbringen where done so far is still a mystery why. So you

only seen such a small part of the panel but you do not know what

that's even etc ... Whether this is an oscillator, or only

an effects unit. I have no Idea. - And they were not represented at all?

-No not diewaren there. I have not seen at least. - You have to say now,

this is the second time that the exhibition has taken place. I know

how big the first was not and who was there ... - But the was pretty hyped.

So after the popular brands that now also large

are ascended, so like Roland etc ... Let's see. I think the bottom line:

go back next year !? -I guess so. Yes.

Maybe even one day again. - So every 3 days are too much. - And me too expensive, quite honestly.

One day is enough for me to look around a bit around.

And I had my "Aha!" Moments and a lot of things that I liked.

I did astronaut training! That was it! I say now times ...

Thanks to all who have persevered for so long!

'The Lord of the Rings Reunion' ft. Dominic Monaghan Ep.114 | Talking with Chris Hardwick - Duration: 1:23.

Dom -- And on Dom's Instagram,

there was a "Lord of the Rings" reunion post that...

Mini -- a mini one, a mini one.

...that -- Oh, of course. They're Hobbits. Mm-hmm.

Uh, uh, there they are.

So, what is happening here? Yeah.

Oh, not all Hobbits.

Uh, it's, uh, three Hobbits, an elf, and a human, right?

Yeah. Um...

What are you guys doing in that hunting lodge?

We -- We [Laughs]

We went to place called -- Is it called Ed --

Ed Bergin's on, uh... Oh!

Uh, uh... ...Fair -- Fairfax?

Tom Bergin's, yeah.

We went there because, um,

obviously Viggo was nominated for, uh,

a bunch of movies this year --

for a bunch of awards -- sorry -- for "Captain Fantastic."

And we had said, "You know, we'd like to be around

and celebrate that with you if you're into it."

So, for the Oscars, he was in town,

and he said to us all the kids from "Captain Fantastic"

were so excited that they were working with Aragorn,

and they talked a lot about "Lord of the Rings."

And he said, "As a surprise, if you show up at this place

you're gonna, you know, freak 'em out."

So we all showed up.

And then, I'm prob-- Out-- Outside of --

Well, alongside Elijah, I'm probably

one of the more active on social media.

And I had said, "Look, we need to document this

because, even though we're having fun,

we need to show the people who are on social media

that we have as much fun being together

as those guys wanted us to be together."

Yeah. So we did it like that.

Aww. That's sweet.

[Cheers and applause]

Nichijou [Scribble Kibble #73] - Duration: 4:35.

In the genre of Japanese animation, Nichijou is an anime that's famous among animators

for where it spent its animation budget.

While other cartoons put all their money into fight sequences and making sure the first

and last episodes look spectacular, here comes Nichijou like hey, I'm going to put all

my money on spilling a pot of curry.

There are lots of interesting and funny sequences, but I wanted to take a closer look at the

penny soccer scene.

I'm going to play it for you.

This is a scene that goes seamlessly from 3D to 2D.

I'm dumbfounded.

I want to see exactly where or how they did this, or when it switches from 3D to 2D, so

let's take a look here.

We start off with the 2D show style.

Go to pure 3D, where the background and the characters are 3D models.

There is actually no animation here at all.

The only thing moving is the camera.

At some point in here the character animation becomes 2D.

Is that also true for the background?

No.

No, it's not.

The background stays 3D.

The part that gives it away is when the camera comes back around to its final resting spot.

Look at how perfectly those desks align with zero changes in line quality.

If they were drawn by hand those lines would wobble.

Compare the desks with the characters.

Line motion, no line motion.

Has this classroom setting always been 3D and we didn't realize it until now?

Backtrack to the setup before the scene I played.

Is that desk the same as this desk?

It's really hard to tell.

Look at the white feet here and the gray feet here.

That's the only thing that suggests to me this desk is hand drawn and this one is not.

And maybe the fact the hand drawn desk outline better matches the characters than the 3D

desk.

If we leave the soccer scene and go earlier into the episode, a shot like this shows the

hand drawn nature of the desks.

There are lots of little differences between chair backs.

How do the backgrounds stay so accurate?

The background artists draw on top of a 3D model to begin with.

You can make a 3D setting in a program like SketchUp and use it as reference for drawing

the same classroom at any angle accurately.

Alright, back to soccer and I think I know where the character animation changes.

These highlights in the hair are painted directly on to the 3D model.

They stay in the same place even as the camera moves.

And it's right… here… that it changes.

Now you can also see a change in the lines.

From here to here they do get a little bit thicker.

The reason the rest of the rotation looks like it's still 3D is because the character

animators have the 3D models to draw on top of for reference.

Animating on top like that is called rotoscoping.

For the final animation, the 3D characters are removed and all we see is the 3D classroom

and the 2D characters.

As for why this is the switching point, it's likely because the characters don't look

believable in 3D once the camera gets this close.

There aren't any lights or shaders in the 3D setting, so shadows like this wouldn't

show up unless somebody drew them by hand.

2D animation also lets you reposition anatomy.

This mouth would not show up on the side of the face on the 3D model.

And that's the secret to switching between 2D and 3D animation.

Meet the 11 year old DJing Sisters: Arima and Kayla | Tiny Tastemakers - Duration: 2:11.

I'm Amira.

I'm Kayla.

And we are eleven years old.

And we're twin sister DJs.

These are some of our fav looks.

I would describe our outfits as a little rock and girly.

Leather is a must have if you want to be rock and roll.

To go with this, you can wear doc martens.

It's red and shiny to go with Kayla's ladybug in the black.

Or you can wear sneakers.

These dresses are the perfect DJ look.

They have these fun tassels and they can look good on camera.

You would wear this dress at a gala like when you're DJ-ing because it's formal.

The pearls add a really classy touch.

We wear these at a really cool DJ performance at an awards show.

They're one of a kind.

Aren't these fabulous?

Shiny clothes are fashionable because they pop on stage.

These rompers are something that we would wear everyday.

We can't dress up all the time, so sometimes we like to keep it casual.

These rompers are super cool and every girl should own one.

As a matter of a fact Kayla, we should just go change.

Our dad runs a family dance party for kids and he wanted us to be the resident DJs

and now we DJ all around the world.

I like when we did the Jimmy Fallon show.

It was really exciting.

We wear uniforms at school but when we DJ we like to go all out.

Watch: Man Asks Pastor About C-Ville, Gets Answer Every American Needs to Hear | Top Stories Today - Duration: 10:14.

When asked during a recent Q&A for a biblical interpretation of the events that transpired

earlier this month in Charlottesville, Virginia, where white supremacists duked it out with

violent leftist thugs, and one young woman died, pastor John F. MacArthur replied with

the truth.

All the current drama and turmoil in society — from the increased media attention on

white supremacist groups to the rise of frequent anti-cop, anti-Confederate, anti-you name

it protests and riots — has little to do with racism, bigotry, slavery and whatever

else, MacAruther said, but rather with a breakdown in basic Christian family values.

"You have a whole generation of young people that have been taught a twisted perverted

inverted upside down and backwards moral law … And the dominant part of this new morality

is, 'I'm the most important person in the world, it's all about me.'"

And the increasingly disturbing acts we see happening around us are merely manifestations

of this evil, said MacArthur, the pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California.

"And we have only begun to see it once it's unleashed," he said.

"And it's going to start coming in all kinds of forms because of the breakdown of

moral law, the breakdown of the conscience, the breakdown of the family, and because of

the incessant assaults on governing authorities."

Take the newfound attention being given to white supremacist groups.

"No one tolerates white supremacists," MacArthur rightly noted, the point being that

the society-wide racism and bigotry of the Jim Crow era is long gone.

And he would know.

He saw that racism and bigotry firsthand.

"I was in the room — when Martin Luther King was assassinated — with those black

leaders, and we went to Memphis, and I stood on the blood spots on that motel with those

men," he said.

"And I stood in the little bathroom on top of the toilet where James Earl Ray shot him

out the window.

Those men were my friends; that was my community."

But those days are in the past.

What's happening now, MacArthur maintained, runs much deeper.

"That's not what's going on there in Charlottesville or any of these other demonstrations,"

he said.

"This is the wretched fallen human heart feeling like it can rise to any level that

is not completely controlled."

FISH ALL THE TIME - Perch Fishing in the Summer | Team Galant - Duration: 16:16.

We will try some chill fishing, as you do in the summer.

Perch from an oligotrophic lake. - There are some nice perch.

We keep fishing here. If we cast, we will get something.

We keep fishing some more and we get more fish.

It is the middle of summer and it is high pressure today.

I am eating ice cream and Team Galant is going out for summer perch.

This is the place where we will begin fishing for perch today.

We saw a lot of roach on our sonar, which is very promising.

We will do some chill fishing, as you do in the summer.

We got our chill clothes on and we will just enjoy this day.

We are fishing in a big lake today. The water here is really clear.

There are not loads of perch here, but they are good.

We will see if we can get a big one.

We have gotten questions about some basic stuff on Facebook.

I use a nylon or fluorocarbon leader when I fish perch, about 0.3 mm.

It is about 40 cm long.

You often fish perch along the bottom and the leader touches branches and rocks.

A nylon leader is more durable than a braided line.

That is why I always use a nylon or flurorocarbon leader.

I tie a double grinner to attach the leader to the braided line.

There is a lot of vegetation on the bottom in this place where we start fishing.

That is why I will use an offset rigged jig.

This is a Nitro Sprat from Illex.

It is already rigged when you buy it, so you can start using it right away.

The head is quite loose, which gives the whole jig a nice movement.

It will do the work today.

I made a cast and I saw some grass.

After about five cranks, I got a pretty good perch.

It is not a huge perch, but it is nice for a summer perch.

You can see how it is fighting for its life in this clear water.

They are strong. - There it is.

It is a decent perch. - It is decent, god damn it.

How strong are they in the summer?

It is insane how strong they are in the summer.

It is actually nice. - It is nice.

Open wide.

The jig is out. This is a 0.7 kg perch, I think.

It is nice and fat. Hold it up.

Nice!

The first perch today is a nice one from an oligotrophic lake.

I think I will let it back into the water. Or what do you think?

Should we take it with us? No, it is too nice.

I got it on this Nitro Sprat, which I showed you before.

It is perfect when there is some vegetation on the bottom.

It is pretty good, I did not need many casts before I got a new one.

It is nice.

It is a decent perch, about 0.4 kg.

The cool thing about this lake is that the perch has really clear colours.

Try to get a big one now. - Just keep fishing in this great weather.

There is a lot of roach under the boat.

Let's see if we can catch one with an icefishing rod with a horizontal jig.

It could be fun to get some roach.

What a strike!

It is a nice roach.

These are the roach that the perch are eating.

Maybe not big like this one, but smaller ones.

That is why they are so fat.

Let's put it in the livewell to use it for ice fishing later, if it survives.

What a strike!

Perch eat roach like this one. Do not be afraid of using bigger baits.

The fishing has been slow for a couple of hours.

The evening is coming and we are looking for shoals of baitfish.

We will see if we can find some bigger perch perhaps.

Let's get up the anchor and go looking for some.

Maybe we can find some huge shoals here.

There is a huge shoal of baitfish on the left side here.

We can see it on the 2D sonar now. It is a lot of baitfish there.

There should be some perch there too, maybe a big one.

We usually look for baitfish when fishing for perch in the summer.

Look for reefs, holes and edges to find baitfish.

The perch will be there too. Just go for it.

I am going for a gigantic perch now. See how long it takes before it strikes.

Just get the bait out there.

No!

What is this?

I got one.

They are pretty small, but I found a shoal with loads of them.

Just get the bait out and you will get a fish straght away.

A nice one like this, about 0.3 kg.

But it can be fun too, when there is so much perch.

Even if it is not the biggest one. It is still fun.

With a thick back.

Let's get a big one. - Whoa!

There is a shoal over there. - What a counter-thrust!

There are a lot of strikes. - It is crazy.

Nice perch!

It is fat and high. It spat out two roach before.

It is not a small roach. It is putting up a fight.

It is quite nice. - It is going away.

Let's see if I can bass land it.

Yes, I made it.

It is pretty fat.

Let's get it back in to keep the shoal going.

Let's get another one.

The strikes keep coming. Just make a cast and get a fish.

I think we have had about 50 fish. It is great summer fishing.

This bait is completely wrecked from all the small perch we have got.

But what I have noticed when I fished... Oh, Filip got a strike.

It is important to make counter-thrusts upwards when using the Nitro Strat.

That is because the hook is hidden inside the jig.

If you counter-thrust to the side, you will miss them.

Be cool and when you feel a strike, just make a counter-thrust upwards.

Perfect! Like now.

How hard can it be?

How hard can it be? This is a small one though.

But it is still fun when it strikes. As you can see...

It was not that small, it was quite decent.

The bait is not that big, but do not be afraid to use a bigger one.

A thin summer perch that we will let back into the water.

That is how you fish offset rigged jigs.

We keep fishing here. If we cast, we will get something.

We keep fishing some more and we get more fish.

It is great!

Let's get a big one.

Do you get better fish? - I got a better one this time too.

It feels good. - That is better.

This could be 0.5 kg.

This is a nice one.

Look at that! Look at that perch!

I just keep fishing and now I get the nice perch.

It has a decent back. Filip is getting one too.

This is how a summer perch should look like.

Nice.

You can tell that the evening is here. This is what we have been waiting for.

We have had about 100 perch so far, so we should not complain.

We can hunt for them on the surface now.

We have seen some fish on the surface and some perch that hunt that fish.

You do not always have to let the jig down to the bottom.

If you see fish on the surface, put on a lighter jig head.

Jig it right away as it touches the water.

That is how you fish where the fish is.

This perch struck when you put the camera down.

This is the biggest one we got in a while.

It is nice. I think it weighs about 0.8 kg.

Perfect in the sunset.

We will let it back in, of course. Let's see if can get an even bigger one.

There have not been any strikes for a while.

We will go back to the place where we started to fish this morning.

Where we got those decent perch.

Let's go back there and see if we can catch some.

This light may be good.

We are back at the first place, but it was just as bad here.

We will pack up our stuff, go home and drink some non-alcoholic beer instead.

- Oh man, I was just into all this dorky shit, you know?

Like hanging out with my family,

(loud celebrating)

playing the violin,

(violin scale)

learning about science and shit.

- Yeah?

Good.

- [Stephen] Spending quality time with my dad.

I was such a dork.

- That's great.

- It's great if you wanna be a dork.

(laughs)

- Well, I mean-

(laughs)

I mean, mm.

- I'm not playin'.

- Okay.

And when did all of that change?

- When did I stop being a dork?

- Yes.

- Two years ago, on my 14th birthday.

♫ Happy birthday, dear Stephen

- Me.

♫ Happy birthday to you

(kissing)

- I love you guys.

(family cheering)

- Your presents. - Your presents.

- Whoa, look, Dad.

It had been a pretty lame party up until then.

I had just gotten a dorky book about plankton

'cause I thought I wanted to be a marine biologist,

and then it happened, finally.

I was the last kid I knew to get one.

My parents had been such selfish dicks.

That's when all my dreams started to become, um...

- A reality? - Non-dreams.

(rapid texting)

- So, anything interesting happen at school today, bud?

Hey, how was that assembly with the astronaut?

(text sending)

- Honey, your father asked you a question.

- Huh?

No, no, I'm straight.

- What?

- You asked about Mark Frode?

- No, I asked about school.

- It was pretty chill, I guess.

Grant Maron tagged me in a photo.

He's got the third most Instagram

followers in the whole grade.

- Oh, way to go, pal.

That's pretty street.

- Stephen, did your dad tell you

about the baseball tickets he got for you?

- Baseball tickets?

To the Rays game this Friday night

in a box owned by my boss?

How the heck would I have been able to do that?

- I thought you told me-

- I'm just kidding.

I was gonna wait to see if the scores come up

on your next science test, but uh,

what the fuck, hm?

- Jim, language.

- Oops, my bad.

- Honey, does that sound like a fun thing to do?

- For your chat app?

- Stephen?

- Huh?

I'm straight.

- You're straight being yes?

Oh.

(shutter snaps)

(typing)

(baseball music) (audience applauds)

(bell rings)

- Hey, you guys seen that new app to blow shit up?

- Yeah, it's pretty tight.

- Yeah, but there's a better one.

Has actual body parts and stuff.

Other one's for pussies.

- Oh yeah, you can see little bits of brain stuff and-

- Hey, Stephen.

Science team starts up again on Monday,

and I haven't found anybody else to work

on that ocean acidification project,

so if you wanna rejoin, we could finish it.

- Yeah, Chris, I dunno if I have time

for science team this year.

It's like, my schedule's pretty tight.

Not tight like lit, but-

- (imitates siren) Dork alert.

What's your name?

Chris DiNilfo.

- Chris DiDorko.

(Stephen laughs)

Why you trying to get in my story, bro?

- Oh no, I was just, I was just-

- And what's up with you tagging me

in your lame family photos?

I'm not in your family.

We're not even friends, dude.

- I don't...

Yeah, but I thought you tagged me

in that photo you took in the cafeteria.

- When you try to tag your actual friend,

Stephen Blane, and you tag some dork

named Stephen Blatt instead,

and he's all faggy and happy about it.

No hate, though, and no tolerance for bullying.

Peace.

- Yo, will you tag me in that?

and you just need a get fast because you already made a video, and you need to post it fast click fastest render and then

you want to choose MKV and

then click start video Render and

That it should say calculating then it should say like this this minutes remaining

See it is coming. It says 24 minutes remaining 18, but it actually takes um a lot

little time

To do this, so I'll I'll come back in a bit when it's done

That's kind of weird it went to 10 minutes because it's usually like only 2 minutes, but this time it's 10 minutes

So I'll come back to to this video when it's done

It's finally done rendering and now you just want to click download your video

Then you should be taken to this page

And then it should pop up like this

It should just be a video MKV .MKV file

so and then if you um if you want to um convert it to MP4 or

Quicktime Player movie um just do just search up in Google Chrome

What is it called? Oh yeah MKV to MP4 converter?

And then find this one, I'll link I'll leave the link also

And now you just wanna browse

Until you find your MKV file

so this one is

video 8

. MKV, so I'm gonna click open and then

It should say like fake path

.MKV file thingy and then wait, let's just hide this

Now you can choose the output format

to anything you want

but I'm just gonna do mp4 since that's the one I use and

Now you wanna click convert this shouldn't take that long, so I'm gonna so I'm gonna record it

Okay, so while it's uploading. Let's talk about my future videos

so my future videos I know um so

Before I recorded my um this video. I actually I

actually

Recorded a roblox video on my xbox

And uh it was Roblox. Oh, I guess I'd be I guess I'd be I

Guess I'd be just um

Like uploading that in a bit. So now you just want to click

convert file this

Please download your converted file

this one

right here

and now you can see your converted your

thing your video

The County Seat Vote By Mail - Duration: 28:51.

Hello everybody welcome to this week's

episode of The County Seat, I'm your host Chad

Booth. The elections are over and the results

are in now for the people in our panel

discussion today that is a big statement for

them to make because they can sigh a sigh of

relief because the process is concluded. Today

we have with us for our conversation about

mail in ballots a new process for voting that has

swept across the state county clerks from

across the state I will introduce them now.

Joanne Evans the clerk auditor from Duchesne

county thank you for driving in today. We have

Ricky Hatch from Weber County and we have

Sherri Swenson who is the Salt Lake County

Clerk it's nice to have a nice spread of different

counties from across the state. So for a lot of us

vote by mail seems like a new thing if we

missed an election a city election it's all still kind

of a new process. I want to start this

conversation with a little bit of the history and

JoAnne that is why you got invited to the table

today because Duchesne was the first county to

go all mail, and that not male that mail. Tell me

a bit about the implementation or the history

why did you guys decide to do this?

We did I for a couple different reasons we

needed to reduce some costs our budget was

getting tight and the economy was going low

type of thing but mostly because we were

chopped into 3 different house districts and we

wanted to have representation for Duchesne

county and after a lot of research and thinking

things through and talking with the

commissioners we decided that the best way to

do that was to go by mail and try to increase

our numbers. It worked for us up to a point.

than a machine ballot other than the fact that

the voting machines are expensive.

Well our voting machines total turn out when

we were running those we were only getting in

the upper 40's maybe low 50 percent turnout.

When we went by mail the very first year we

were 80% and in this last presidential race that

we had last year we got almost 90% so it

increases for us a whole tremendous amount.

Let me turn that perspective because they are

the ones that started the state for the two of

you. Did you think they were nuts when they

decided to vote by mail or had you guys been

contemplating?

Not at all in fact as soon as the law would allow

us to conduct regular elections by mail in 2013

were contracting to do the municipal elections

and we offered the cities opportunity to

conduct their elections by mail and the first two

cities that came on board was Cottonwood

Heights and West Jordan and they were so

successful the turnout in those city elections

was 2 and half 3 times what they had seen in

the past in a comparable election when people

had to go to polling places so we knew that it

was a success.

What were your reactions?

We already knew JoAnne was nuts because

she's an election official and we are all crazy.

We were impressed by her because it is scary to

take a new step we had been hearing the

advantages by mail up in Oregon and

Washington for quite some time and we could

see from an election administration stand point

a lot of benefits but it is scary to take the leap

so when JoAnne did it was kind of hold your

breath and we hope it works out. As it started

coming in and we started seeing it was working

for her county we talked more about the

benefits and we thought we did not see a lot of

downside here it seems like a good thing on the

elections administration side but also for the

voters as well.

So change is very hard particularly for

governments because they get traditions and

you get new people elected and it's just kind of

an issue, so briefly was there opposition in your

counties internally about them saying oh let's

not go down this road.

There was not in our county because we had

already had those discussions about what

would be best for us to get people in so there

was not any controversy with our county

officials at all.

For our county it was actually a fortuitous time

we had a special election that dealt with

property taxes but it was held in June was is

normally a lower turn out period and we

proposed this to the commission they said this

is the only way we can do this because we know

it will get higher turnout but we need the

decision and we do not want to wait until

November so it was a perfect time for them to

do it so actually we did not get any push back

either.

What about you, you have more people to deal

with than anybody?

Yes, when we first offered it to the cities the

cities that did not come on board in 2013

wanted to see how it worked for the other

cities were the two that did and then they were

convinced that it was successful so they came

on board so for the county council they were

very receptive there was a little concern they

had to explain the turn out would be better the

cost would be less and they would be very

supportive.

That is an excellent place to take a break from

the County Seat and when we come back we

will come back and talk about the costs of the

savings and how a county realizes that by doing

a vote by mail,

Welcome back to the County Seat we are

talking today about vote by mail we are now

into how many elections with this system? How

about Salt Lake County?

We did our first two municipals elections in the

primary in 2013 and then we did it again in

2015 so there was 4 and then last year there

was 7 for Salt Lake County.

Yes we were about the same our first election

was in 2013 and we kept going.

We have been going since the primary of 2010.

Okay as now as I understand this everybody has

options. It's not like you have to vote by mail

and if you do not have a mail box than you get

cheated out of voting. I guess that would be

the only way you would be cheated out of

voting if you did not have a mail box?

Then you still have options. Vote by mail is a

little bit of a misnomer not necessarily a

misnomer but it is misunderstood. For me vote

by mail simply means I mail the voter ballot if

you are a voter you are going to get a ballot in

the mail about 3 to 4 weeks before the election.

Now you have several options on how you are

going to cast that ballot you can vote it stamp it

put it in the mail. You can vote it and drop it in a

drop box you wait until election day and drop it

in ballot box at the voting center you can go in

person if you have visual impairment or other

needs or questions you can vote on machines in

person and some counties have early voting you

can vote early there are all sorts of different

options.

about cost savings and everybody says it saves

them money but it looks like you had to put

more options on the table if you can still go in

and vote at a polling place how are you saving

money as you still have to have the polls open.

I'd like to respond to that. We used to have

traditional polling places and for instances we

had in the 2012 presidential election 312 polling

locations and so having to prepare all of those

electronic voting machine for all those locations

having them employed by Companies having to

hire poll workers for all those locations that is

how it saves money. The preparation time for

getting all of that ready leading up to the

election versus getting ballots prepared and

mailing to people was so much more expensive

so we were able with vote by mail to

consolidate locations in the vote centers and

early voting locations and most people are

returning their vote my mail ballot versus

utilizing early voting and polling centers.

So let me ask that question just so people get a

comparison Sherry you have gone from 300

plus polling locations what did this last civic

election look like?

It was actually 36 voting centers and we had

early voting in 12 locations and so the majority

of the people that cast their vote did use their

vote by mail ballot.

Same as Weber.

So in Duchesne in being a very much more

sparsely populated state how did you do your

early voting or your walk in ballot?

We do not do early voting we are completely by

mail. We have drop boxes in different places

but mostly everybody can come to the clerk's

office because we are the center of the county

and we can fulfil their needs there.

machine in Duchesne County at all right now?

There is but it is for disabled voters but it can

turn if we really n need to accommodate a

regular voter but we prefer to stay all by mail.

That is great you put us on to a very good topic.

Misnomers that people have and we will make

that a point of our conversation when we come

back on The County Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat we are

talking with county clerks and auditors from

across the state about the vote by mail

phenomena what is now part of our new and

adjusting culture here in Utah. We kind of

ended on a point where you say you have drop

boxes are there still a lot of people that are

afraid of putting something in the mail because

somebody is going to tamper with their ballot?

There are those people who do not want to do

that but they are a small minority they are

usually the older people or generation that

think it is their civic duty to go to a polling place

and stand in line and visit with their neighbors

about the issues and they have every right to be

worried about that and so we try to work

through that as they call us and visit with us so

that we can do some voter outreach and let

them know that it's okay.

How secure is this process I got my ballot thank

you Sherry in the mail you delivered it perfectly

had a little envelope in there and a little sleeve

so that everything was anonymous and I put my

stuff in there and granted because I was such a

lagger at voting I had to actually drop it off on

election day but I had not fear about mailing it.

How secure is this system? You are now

It is very secure. The Post Office takes great

care to separate our ballots out for us we have

a team that goes out to the post office every

day picks up the ballots if they are returned by

mail they are very secure and we treat them so

that the voters privacy is protected we have

that sleeve included in our ballot and we also

have a open machine its run through that is

sliced open the return envelope the sleeve is

removed the identifying factor that return

envelope is dropped in a bin beneath and the

person operating that would never be able to

tell which votes were attributed to that

individual. But if someone wants to drop their

ballot into the drop box we have in Salt Lake

County 18 of those and again like Ricky said

they could also go on Election Day and drop

their ballot at the vote center if they prefer that

they are very welcome to do that.

Voters are welcome go to voteutah.gov they

can check the status of their ballot on line so

you can verify that your ballot has been

returned and if the day before election day you

go there and it says it has not been received

come on in and vote and we will have you vote

provisionally if it eventually comes which ever

one comes to us first that is the vote we count

but never both. We have controls to control

that.

our election process by mail balloting process

and I am sure the other clerks can attest to this

as well we have had a lot of skeptics come

through we have never had a skeptic leave.

They always say wow we had no idea this is so

controlled one guy just recently said your

process and you have tighter security than

Boeing and I know because I work for them. It

was quite a compliment because he came in

skeptical. We have so many reconciliation

points and so much control always 2 people and

multiple reconciliation points throughout the

process. It's very safe.

Do you think there is less chance of a mistake

being made on somebody's ballot in the vote by

mail than say with machines?

I do not think there is less. People make

mistakes on their ballot they cross things out

they change them we do have to duplicate

ballots we use teams we log the original ballots

we can always refer back to it but that is also

allowed. If someone makes a mistake by a vote

by mail ballot and they send it in and we can

see they have crossed something out it may not

run through our automated scanners but we

take all the care in the world to make sure that

ballot is duplicated kept on file for reference

and the electronic machine if you cast a vote on

that machine it's a vote cast and its very secure

but both processes are very good.

Have you ever had a machine like smoking and

sparking on you or anything like that?

We had a server do that.

touch on one thing and you did kind of allude to

it that people feel they have a civic right to

vote. I have a neighbor and bless her heart she

is 80 years old and she if very active and she

votes she does not like the vote by mail because

she feels that she needs to go down and talk to

her neighbors and the people that volunteer in

the polling watchers and it's not as affective I

do not think she is concerned about safety she

is not doing what she is supposed to do. How

do you get people past that?

I don't know that you can change their mindset

overnight. I think it's a progression thing that

you have to do but when you are voting by mail

quite often we get feedback about people

sitting around their desks talking about the

issues and trying to decide what is best for our

county or nation or state and I think that is one

way she can view it as her civic duty would be

to instead of going to a polling place to discuss

it with people there that she could do it with

her family and friends at home and then drop

her ballot off.

We have heard of ballot marking parties folks

get around they bring their ballots they talk

about the issues they have computers they look

things up they discuss and when it comes time

to vote of course if people want to see or they

can vote privately but it's kind of a fun new idea

that you would not have in the traditional

polling place.

They have more time they get their ballot 3

weeks before the Election Day and they can

look things up and they are not surprised by a

proposition or a constitutional amendment and

they are not standing at the voting machine

going I do not know anything about this they

have time to research. I feel that it makes for a

more informed voter

I would have to agree. When I get a ballot I

open it up in the mail look at it right away most

of the stuff I have traditionally tried to be aware

of but when I actually see the language of the

proposition I got huh and I have had a chance to

look it up I go to the legislative record I can see

the progress of why it's there I suppose that

does help. I would like to talk about stats

because there were a lot of skeptics whether

this was going to work? Do all of you agree that

it has significantly increased voter turnout?

Yes.

By how big of a margin? When you come from

polling places from 300 to 36 how much have

you increased you vote participation.

Last year we had waiting lines because people

really we found out that out of the 55,000

people that went to our vote centers last year

in the general election about 45,000 of those

individuals actually had a vote by mail ballot

and the vote centers were men and really for

people who needed that facility but

nevertheless for whatever reason some of them

said they thought it was coupons they thought

it was junk mail we learned some lessons in that

and we make sure now that if someone wants

to vote in person we have enough of the vote

centers to accommodate which ever type of

election but as far as turn out last year in Salt

Lake County we had a record number of

registered voters and we had a 84% turnout of

a record number of registered voters in the

municipal elections the turnout absolutely has

been higher. We used to see in a primary like

we just had 10 12 percent turnout we saw

almost 27%. That is still not great with me.

That's embarrassing.

Yes it is but it still much better than it would

have been it been not been a vote by mail

election.

True. Not embarrassing to you you are doing

your job its embarrassing to us we don't get out

and do it.

We saw similar numbers I Weber county it's

hard to estimate what a voter turnout would be

if it was not vote by mail but in a primary or

special election that is normally a lower turn

out its least a 10 to 20% higher turn out when

you have vote by mail versus traditional.

Do you think it will improve with the future? Do

you think more people will actually start doing

this? I almost ran the risk of missing it this year

because I had some thinking to do about it and I

realized I was thinking down to the 14th and oh

no in general it's going to catch on do you think

it will improve naturally and organically going

forward?

I do because I think people will be more

informed about the process. One of the things

we encounter is the state law requires the

ballots if they return them by mail that they are

postmarked the day before election day and so

sometimes people think oh not postmarked I

cannot vote and they don't. They don't realize

the other options but they will get more

informed they don't realize about all of our

drop boxes and our vote center drop offs.

That message did get out this year in Salt Lake

County because I actually brought mine in and

dropped my off and it is very easy to do

dropped right there and said high to everybody

and left.

We had 2 stats that stuck out to me and this

primary election that we just had of all the

ballots casts at all of our vote centers and by

mail less than2% of all ballots casts were in

person on a machine. Now what was about 12

to 15% back in November so the voters seem

to be appreciating it and welcoming it and

trusting the process because that number

continues to drop the second one is a survey we

did with Weber county voters we did over1600

voters this was done by Weber State University

and 87% of them said that they felt that voting

by mail they were strongly supportive of it or

supportive of it they felt that they were starting

to embrace as they get more comfortable and

realize the convenience and benefit I think that

number will continue to rise.

Do you think the fear of it will subside? There

are some people that are just really leery about

turning it over. I've gone way over on this

segment we'll be right back on The County Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat we have had

so much fun talking we have gone way over

time one last final thought if people still have

concern about vote by mail what should they

do.

They should come in and see us and watch the

process so that they can see how secure it is

and how important it is to us to keep it above

board and to know that we have their best

interest at heart.

So even a small county like Duchesne you can

come in and see the process?

You bet.

Well they have a chance to do that in just a

couple months don't them. Thank you all for

joining us today I appreciate your input on this

really important subject it looks like it's a

thumbs up all the way across and thank you for

inviting us into your home each week on the

county seat and remember local government is

where your life happens be part of the solution

we will see you next week on The County Seat.
