In this video, we're going to talk about three related concepts from Aristotle.

Ethos, pathos, and logos. And if you have not yet been exposed to this kind of

material, it will absolutely help you take your next presentation up a notch.

So, let's get into it.

Hello again friends. I'm Alex Lyon and if you've never subscribed to Communication

Coach, this channel, I encourage you to do so. This channel is here for rising

leaders, people like you to help you increase your personal impact so you can

lead the people around you to higher levels of excellence. And one of the ways

we do this on the channel is by [looking at] presentation skills. And today we're

going to look at three related concepts: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. These have, even

though they're textbook type concepts, they have direct application for you as

a speaker. And you can use these right away. So let's unpack these each and show

you how you can apply them. The first is ethos. And that means your

personal credibility as a speaker. A lot of times people think that because ethos

looks like the word ethics, that's all it means. And that's part of it. Abviously as

a speaker you have to have good character. You also, however, have to be an

expert. You have to have credentials. You have to be qualified to speak in a way

that people would want to listen to you. Very few of us have a public reputation

already. And so one of the ways you can do this in your presentations is if

you're being introduced by somebody before you speak, make sure the person

introducing you has a little bit of information about your background so

they can position you as someone worth listening to. If you don't have someone

introducing you, then you want to talk about any research that you've done to

prepare for this presentation, any personal experience or connection that

you have to the topic. You want to position yourself as someone that has

ethos, someone that has the credibility, the believability so that people will

want to listen to you. And you can almost always do this right in the introduction

of your presentation. Let's turn now to pathos. Pathos is where the speaker

appeals to the emotions of the listeners. So, you want to use things like vivid

language, metaphors, and probably the most effective way that we can reach into the

hearts of our listeners is through personal stories. You can tell

stories about your own personal experiences or you can tell stories

about other people's experiences. There's nothing like a story to engage our

hearts and get us personally involved in it. It's almost like a story transports us

into the moment. And that's a great way to appeal to your audience's emotions. So

when you're presenting next, make sure as you're looking at your outline that you

have enough personal examples and little stories to bring people into that

emotional dimension of your presentation. So now let's talk about logos. Logos,

because it looks like the word logic, a lot of people think, oh that just means

logic. But there's a lot more to it than that. In fact, you want to think about it

in terms of using evidence and reason to construct your speech [argument]. You want to

develop your presentation around a series of facts and statistics and good

reasonable evidence. And one of the ways you can do this in a presentation and

make it work for you, is make sure you have a tight relationship between your

claim, that's your thesis, the thing you're trying to demonstrate, and the

evidence you are using. If you're claiming one thing and then you have to

stretch your evidence to fit it. People are going to start to notice that and

they're not going to be as willing to be brought along or convinced by your

message. So make sure you're thorough in your research and you integrate that

good high-quality research into your presentation. Then your presentation will

have good logos. So that way you have ethos, pathos, and logos you're going to

be way more persuasive overall as a speaker. Question of the day. What are

your thoughts about how to establish any of these three in your next presentation?

I would love to hear your comments and your tips below. I learn a lot from

reading your comments. So I look forward to reading those in the future. So thanks.

God bless. And I will see you in the next video.

Starting a YouTube Channel - 9 Easy Steps - Duration: 4:13.

Today I am going to talk about starting a video channel on YouTube.

Video has seen explosive growth.

Publishers, academics, educators, consultants, and others are embracing this easy and inexpensive

way to create quality content.

Here are the nine simple steps to getting started.

First, come up with the focus for your channel; what is the point to the content you will

be creating.

Develop a niche and see what other content is out there that serves this area.

The more focused the better.

Second, choose a platform.

I chose YouTube over other channels like Vimeo because of YouTube's connection with Google

Search as well as the broad audience the channel offers.

For YouTube, you will need to register will Google and create an account.

Sign into Creator Studio and name your video channel.

Think carefully about the name you choose.

By the way, the dashboard at YouTube is very valuable and shows views, subscribers, and

a host of other statistics.

Third, add graphics to the channel as well as information about you, links to your website,

social media, etc.

Fourth, you are ready to record.

Write a script.

Read it aloud several times.

Have a tight focus for the content.

I aim to have a video be three to five minutes in length.

Keep the videos in your area of focus.

Do not pinball all over the place with the topics that you choose.

Fifth, you are ready to record.

I use my existing iPhone 6 on a $10 tripod.

You can: speak from memory, make it up as you go along, or use teleprompter software.

I use the teleprompter software from JoeAllen Pro. $12.

It is easy to use.

I upload the script to the phone and I am ready to go.

Be mindful of the background, outside noises, and the lighting.

Test, test, test until you get it right.

I record in short segments and then link them together later.

When you are done, send the files to your computer.

Sixth, edit the files.

There are a few free video editing programs out there that work.

There are some that come with a cost.

All I do in the editor is trim the beginning and end of each clip, splice them together,

and add an introductory slide at the start.

Seventh, the file is ready.

I upload it to YouTube, add a thumbnail, and add my script in for closed captioning.

Most important is to be very diligent with tags about the video and a full description

under the Notes section including a transcript.

Eighth, publish the video.

Ninth, promote the video on social media, at your website, to your contacts, everywhere.

Make sure you ask everyone to subscribe to your channel.

Engage with your subscribers and other viewers.

All of the small steps mentioned so far (like creating a thumbnail) are very, very simple.

All have videos at YouTube on how to do them and they are incredible easy to follow.

None of these steps should scare you as being technical.

Believe me, they are not.

Each video for me takes less two hours to create from script writing to posting.

Total cost so far to create all the videos has been less than $25.

Scholars and academics can promote their work or do video abstracts.

Publishers can create videos from news articles or promote upcoming events.

Associations and societies can promote their meetings, engage members, or give updates

on new initiatives.

All of this is incredibly easy.

Have fun with it and experiment.

My enjoyment comes from the small changes in each video to the bookshelves behind me.

Easter eggs for my own amusement.

Well that's it.

Hit the Like button below if you enjoyed this video.

Please subscribe to my YouTube channel or click on the playlist to see more videos about

making videos.

And make comments below or email me with questions.

Thank so much and take care.

Juniper Lemon's Happiness Index | DEBUT REVIEW (spoiler free) - Duration: 7:13.

Hey guys it's Trina and today I have another debut review for you, this time

it is for the 2017 debut novel Juniper Lemon's Happiness Index by Julie Israel.

As usual I will be asking myself my set of questions that I ask about debut

novels that I'm reading this year, just kind of trying to give you guys a good

idea of whether or not this one is worth your time, but first of all let me tell

you what this book is about. It is a YA contemporary novel about our main

character Juniper Lemon and she recently lost her sister. Her sister's passed away

so not only is Juniper dealing with this hole in her life but so are her parents

and her entire friend group and like her entire school was affected by it. She

keeps a thing called a happiness index and she does this in honor of her sister

where she writes down something that made her happy every single day. Like

whether or not it was a good or bad day she tries to write down something that made her

happy and she loses one of her index cards so throughout the course of the

story she is trying to find that index card. And then another layer to this

story is that while she's going through her sister's things she finds a letter

that her sister wrote to someone that she was romantically involved with but

no one knew her sister had a relationship so Juniper is also trying

to figure out who that person is. Is it someone they went to school with? Is it someone

in their town? Was it a long distance relationship? Because Juniper wants to

deliver that letter to whoever it was meant for so that they can maybe get some

closure as well. So there are a couple of different layers to this story. There is

the main aspect of grief and loss and how Juniper's life has been affected

by her sister's death, and then there's also that slight mystery aspect of

trying to figure out who the mystery lover was. I did know of this book

prior to its release although I never heard very much marketing for it, but I

do run a Goodreads group where I just list out all the debuts that I know of

because I do search like publisher catalogs and stuff. I try to keep an eye

out for brand new authors and stuff so I knew of this book and I was not

interested in reading it. I don't typically go for books that deal with

grief. It's not something that I enjoy reliving in books because I've had a lot

of it in my life as well, and the reason that I ultimately did end up picking up

this book is because it was the booktubeathon group pick this year and

I love booktubeathon, it's the reason why I started my channel a few years ago, but

I knew that this year I was not gonna have the time or energy to really participate.

I was like the one thing I can do is read the group book with them and still

feel like I can, you know, discuss the things at the whole book community on

YouTube it is talking about that week. So that's why I picked it up and I am

really glad that I gave it a chance because I ended up enjoying this book a

lot more than I thought I would. I do think this book delivers what it says it

will. If you read the jacket summary or the Goodreads summary, that summary

really does encompass most of the themes that are found throughout the entire

book: the loss of her sister, the mystery letter, and some of the other friendships

and how Juniper discovers new friendships by searching for who that letter was to

and by searching for her index card. As far as does the summary fit this book?

Did it give me the things that I felt that it was promising me? The answer to that

is mostly yes. It did deliver what I was expecting from it. I really liked how

this book handled loss. I thought that it was very realistic, very fitting. No one

person's grief experience is going to ring true to everyone else in the world

but there were definitely many moments that hit me like wow that's a really

good way to put that, so I did enjoy the exploration of loss and I also really

liked the friendships in this book. They do have their ups and downs but I just

really enjoyed how Juniper was a dedicated friend and, you know, she has

some friendships that have ended, some new friendships that are forming. I just

really enjoyed, you know, that fully rounded experience. And I was also really

captivated by that mystery element. Who was this letter to? Are we gonna find out

who that person is? Is it gonna be delivered? How are they gonna react? That

kind of kept me a little bit hooked and kept me reading because I was always

very intrigued by that aspect of the plot. However, what I disliked about the

book is I wasn't a big fan of how that mystery element played out in the end. I

can't say too much of that obviously because it's a mystery. I'm not gonna

give it away for you guys, but there was just something about it where I can

completely appreciate how all of that wrapped up but it didn't have the impact

that I think I was expecting so I think that could have been a little bit more

well rounded. I also was not a fan of the romantic

love interest in this book. It was a very heavy bad-boy trope and that's my least

favorite trope. You know, a lot of times I can deal with it, it's fine,

but this guy was very textbook 'I'm a bad boy but I have a heart of gold and

I have a troubled home life that makes me how I am.' This was such a cliche

I couldn't get behind it and you know sometimes when you can't ship the main

ship in a book it makes you not like the book as much as you would have if you

really shipped them. So you know, that part wasn't working for me but that's

not the most important angle of this book, certainly. I don't think this book

really feels like a debut novel, which is a good thing because that means that

this novel does not feel like just amateur writing, you know. This author

does have room to grow, I believe that she could flesh things out more and have

the story be a little bit more focused but there were a lot of elements to this

plot that keep you engaged. You know, if you're not into the loss thing you might be

into the mystery thing. If you're not into that you might be into the grief or the

friendships or whatever, so I think there's a lot to it. I thought that it

was well done, complex, so I do think that this was a well-crafted story. I did

enjoy the characterization of most of the characters aside from the bad-boy

trope, which was a little bit cliche. That could definitely be steered away from in

Julie Israel's next book but I don't find any big problems with her writing. This

author is a good writer, she does still have room to grow, and I am excited to

see what she does in her next book. So I would definitely check out more by Julie

Israel. Really it's gonna depend on what her next book is about and if that

synopsis is something that appeals to me or not

but this is definitely an author that I think is a pretty good writer and I

would definitely like to see more by her. Overall I would recommend this book. I

think that it was a good contemporary read. I really am really glad that I gave

it a shot. You may not like it so much if you don't like a heavy bad boy trope or

if you, you know, don't like books that explore loss, if that's just not your

thing. A couple of content warnings that may make you want to stay away from this

book are that there is an abusive parent character in the book so there's a small

depiction of child abuse and there is also

an inclusion of suicidal ideation by one of the side characters, so those are some

things that I think they aren't handled poorly but they are present in the book.

If you don't want to read about those, if you'd be harmed or triggered by them, you

know, those are reasons why you may steer clear of this one of course. But overall

I did enjoy this book and I think if you like the YA contemporary genre, you

know, definitely check it out. I thought it was great. I was glad that I gave it a

shot. Those are all my thoughts on Juniper Lemon's Happiness Index by Julie

Israel and if you guys have read it I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Did you read this book along with booktubeathon like I did or did you pick

it up for other reasons? Thank you guys so much for watching, I

hope this review has been helpful. and I will see you in the comments. Bye!

What happened at Lakanal House - Duration: 4:47.

I'm now going to briefly touch on Lakanal House. We've recently had the final

coroner's inquest has happened and the fines have now been in place.

Just to give you background if you're not aware of the Lakanal House fire.

The fire occurred on the 3rd of July 2009 at 4:10 in the afternoon.

It occurred in a flat on the ninth floor of a 14-story block. There were 18 fire

engines on site tacking that blaze at its height. 6 people died and 150

people were rescued. That's in the UK just a few years ago. So what happened?

You'll see that the fire started due to an electrical fault in the TV on the

9th floor of the property. Fire spread up the building to the flats above and

caused the escape route to become smoke logged. Making it impossible for anyone

to get out of the building. Not only that and quite unusually, the fire also spread

down the building because flaming droplets were coming off the building

and catching some of the flats down below. So highly unusually in this case,

fire spread both upwards as it would naturally do through heat and downwards,

which made it a very difficult building to actually evacuate. One of the things I

need to point out is that 1960's tower blocks are not actually designed to be

evacuated. They're actually designed to be a series of fire tight cells.

What you'll see on the plans for this building is that the maisonettes, which

are flats that are split over two floors, had access to a balcony at one level and

one and only one staircase for that entire building.

Which meant that if smoke got into that staircase there was no way out. If it's

designed correctly and maintained correctly it is perfectly safe for

people to remain in their flats and that is still the advice that's given to this

day. So if you're in a block of flats, providing it's designed correctly, been

installed correctly and the fire precaution measures are correct, it is

safe to stay in there even in the event of a fire. What happened? Well one of the

things with a high-rise building is that you cannot evacuate people you cannot

rescued people externally once the building exceeds 30 meters. If you assume

that each storey is 2 to 3 meters in height that's anything probably over

about 10 storeys in height. The fire service have to go inside the building

to be able to tackle that fire and the effects of wind are quite dramatic on a

building what you get to that height. So what was happening was the fire broke

out on a low level and started to be able to spread up the building and the

oncoming wind was able to push it back in. Not only that as I say you had

because the cladding should have been fire rated and wasn't fire rated parts

of the cladding falling off and setting fire to the flats below. Internally there

were areas where fire could spread as well. The top two photos in this screen

show you what we often find. That services have been put in, plumbers have

come in, electricians have come in, builders have come in and they've

smashed holes through those fire resistant walls. The walls that I marked

on that plan earlier that you saw that need to be maintained as fire

compartments. It's essential that any service is passing through those are

correctly fire stopped and the lower photo shows you that. The next thing that stops

the fire spreading internally within the building is fire doors. We often find

that the fire doors our propped open, the seals are not correct on them or in the

particular case that you see here the second fire door appears to be a fire

door but when you actually go up to it closer you'll find that the lower panel

instead of being fire rated it's just a sheet of ply and the top sheet where the

glass has broken so many times is just plastic. That would not hold the fire

back for at least the 30 minutes that's required to the fire service to get on

site and start tackling the blaze. 6 people died in that fire, 150 people had

to be evacuated. Southwark council were responsible for

that building. They have their own in-house team to look after that. These

are not people that are inexperienced in doing it and yet we still found

ourselves in this situation because they didn't check the cladding, because they

didn't check the fire stopping, because they didn't check the fire doors. All of

the things that should have been done throughout. As a result of that they were

fined over £270,000, their costs were

£300,00 they invested £63 million in putting right

not only that building but other buildings within their stock as well.

So it is a huge bill that's something that they've got very wrong.

and you can see for yourself the final product

CASTLES & DRAGONS is set in the fantasy world of Morton

the introduction in the rulebok helps you making an idea

at the beginning of the game players draw randomly

a character sheet, that is different for eavryone

and with a different ability for each player

then they get the resources

wood, stone and rye

and the coins

taxes on level 0 and happiness on level 30

and here in the center the cubes in the choosen color and the Dice with 12 faces

then take a land sheet and preferably in this conformation

where there are mountains, plains and forests

for an easier game

then place on it two villages, where you wish,

and one of this factories on a zone you choose

because this will help produce resources

then take an army sheet with it's relative token

and place it on your land sheet with 2 units of infantry

and a bowman

this basically represent what there is in your land

now we have to select or choose randomly which is this land on the map

there are two ways: one with a die roll, so totally random

or following the rulebook for an equal distribution

that is what you see here now

once the land is decided, take the corresponding token

and place it on the land sheet

while on the land itself place one of your cubes and

this token here, with the number of your army

finally draw a spy card

and 3 missions

of which you can discard 2 and draw back another 2

that then you must take

these represent opportunities to make victory points

and the spy cards are action cards you can use during the game

the game is divided in rounds, usually 10

unless a player creates a country first

pushing his happiness level to 90 (or more)

or if a player eliminates all the others

Every round is made of 8 phases, summed up on this sheet

and in the first round, there's the law "Si vis pacem para bellum" that prohibits all the battles

sending spies and makeing raids

the firts phase is the tax and resources

in which you can change the value of the taxes you request to your villages

moving below 0 means requesting less taxes to the villages

but there's the possibility to raise the happiness,

that is the objective you're pursuing to form a country

if you raise the taxes you may obtain more coins,

but it is also true that the villages can end in riot

and you wouldn't get anything

In this phase you could also recruit a dragon

Yes! You got it right!

If you own a city, a castle and the wizard tower

and rolling a 12 with the die

you can add +1 to the roll for every mountain you have in your land sheets

Then you get resources with the factories you own

For each factory you roll the die and check on this chart

how many resources you obtain

next phase is the upkeep in which you have to supply your armies

with coins and resources

The third phase is the alliances, but playable only with 3 or more players

players can talk privately and make pacts

writing them on paper

these pacts are in force until they are broken

or until payers decide to unanimously broke them,

showing them to the other players and explaining why

There are some examples in the rulebook, but the

players can create their own

The fourth phase is the trade

in wich, in player order, players can buy and sell resources

including the armies

at the cost indicated on this chart

then, at the end of the phase the market is modified

based on the difference between the things bought and sold

if for exelple the players have bought 5 infantry units

and 2 where sold

the difference is 3 and checking on this chart

based on the number of players, in this case the price

is raised by 1

The next phase is the one in which you can build structures

each one has a cost, a value in victory points and an associated ability

that can let you obtain coins or modifiers on the die rolls during battles

The factories only help you to produce resources

The structure can be villages, cities

deriving from the villages

the castle, the wizard tower and the factories

The next phase is the expeditions

you can move your armies between your lands

and between your structures in the same land

you could also send a cart in the enemy lands to obtain coins

but you have to roll the die and check the result on this chart

to see if you succeeded

The seventh phase is battles

skipped in the first round

however is divided in 3 sub-phases

1 planning 2 movement 3 resolution

this is a phase with various shades

but briefly, first you write in secret on a paper where you

want to send your armies

then everybody reveals at the same time

in this case battles for the land control occurs

If a land doesn't have enemy's armies

you have to determine how many orcs there are with a die roll

and face them; otherwise the battles are between players

When 2 armies battle, the sheets are faced one towards the other

and for each unit the players roll the die

and add the modifiers given from their position and ability

Same way during a siege in a land with a castle

There's even the opportunity to battle with 3 armies or 4 armies

and in that case you can use this ones

that helps define how the units battle together

there can be even raids and you can claim the lands

Raids allow you to attack villages to obtain coins

while to claim a land you've to defeat all the units defending the structures

so, also the ones on the land sheet

The last phase is the Happiness, in which you've to

check this space on your player sheet

if there are spy cards and unhappy tokens

then check the charts here and modify the value consequently

If your happiness drops to 0 you lose automatically

while if it reaches 90 or more, you've managed to create a country

ending the game even if there will be another round

if the 90 or more happiness points are obtained in this phase, the game ends immediately

Once the game ends

after the 10th turn or if a player reached 90 happiness points

or if there is only one payer left

Victory points are calculated based on the structures in the player's lands

the dragon, the coins and the happiness level

and the completed missions

the player with the most victory points is the winner of

CASTLES & DRAGONS

Here we are! Now I'll talk about C&D following

my chart of things in my opinion a game should have

starting from the good components

Now, the good components in this game, has you could see

are already here! Even if this is a prototype

so in the final version will only be better

the miniatures detail is really, really excellent already

these for example are 3d printed

they should be in resin

in the final product

and this is a really, really good production

this is an experiment in plastic

Something I really appreciated are these

the coins and the resources made in this way

never seen something like that! They are in wood and marked with fire

they are really awesome!

I really hope they will be like that in the final product

maybe as a stretch goal or an add-on

Something I feel I must say is that the players sheet

and these here, the land sheets

are basically paper

yes, they are hardened but really light

as these, the tiles for the battles

but seeing the incredible amount of stuff in this box

it seems right to me

the box should be gigantic to hold all this stuff so

I think they will be like that in the end

but if the KS campaign is already active you can check for yourself

or you'll see when it will start

the cards are excellent

really, really good production and quality

Something I really appreciated is the first player marker

that basically is a brooch

so you can pin it every time you're first player

Now, the theme tied to the mechanics

In this game there's a theme, you can feel it: the battles the conquer

there should be a fantasy atmosphere

that is not too much perceived

yes, the dragon and the player's sheets

and the introduction in the rulebook

helps a little but during the game you can't feel too much fantasy

but the mechanics are tied to the theme for sure

or I should say the theme is tied to the mechanics

in all of its phases

the tax management, the happiness management

the management of the market

I mean when you buy (or sell)

all this economic mechanism

is really realistic

almost a simulation

so, makes me feel inside this situation

negotiating, buying, trading, enlisting

more soldiers

so, really a good point!

This game is too much sandbox? Not really...

there are 8 phases to follow

they lead you very well inside the game

there they are, represented here in this reference sheet

getting lost in this game, absolutely not

there is a lot to think about for sure, a lot to program

that can slow down a bit the game

loosing some time

but those are the phases, they are really clear and followed very easily

Is this game suitable for all kinds of experiences?

no, I would say not

this is a game that favors the player that knows the game really well

an inexperienced player will be disadvantaged in front of an experienced player

because he knows what to do, when to do it

in the various phases, how to do it,

which are the best moves

the difference is felt enough

Comprehensible rulebook, reference sheets and clear symbols

starting from the symbols that... there are not so much

those present works fine

about the reference sheets a big applause

because, starting from this, the one that sums all the phases

fundamental! Almost you don't have to go check back the rulebook

there's also this that sums all the charts in the rulebook for the rolls

so, when you have to collect resources, attack virgin lands

or maybe how the happiness or unhappiness changes

or how maintaining our troops costs

this is really fundamental and it's really good

absolutely excellent

The rulebook is still a prototype

so it need some fixing

it is clear enough, there are some omissions obviously

and I told the authors the ones I've noticed

and they're working on it and I guess in the final product

it will be done really better

but it is not bad already

Now, randomness balanced to determinism

This game is really random

there are a lot of dice rolls

the mission cards are drawn randomly at the beginning of the game

also the spy cards are drawn randomly

If you want you can take the land sheets randomly at the beginning of the game

also here, on the board, you can see a preparation

where there are predetermined positions for the players

otherwise it is decided randomly with a die roll

and almost in each phase you roll dice

to see the outcome of the battles, the taxes, the production

so there's a lot of randomness

But you can mitigate it in some ways

the wizard tower allows you to re-roll

or there are ways to increase the range of success

but this game is definitely much more random than deterministic

I'm a bit sorry for this, because I love when the things are well balanced

But there's someone out there that would like the fact that

you've always to reinvent yourself, and find something always new

for the bad luck

well... bad luck...

in the end, you produce a little less?

You loose some units during the battles?

Nothing really heart breaking and destructive!

The learning curve

This game isn't hard to learn

It's fairly linear and the phases are easy to follow

There are really lots of things to control

lots of moving parts and things changing during the game

but it's not too complex

getting in contact with this game

more complex will be becoming experts for sure

Interaction. Now, the interaction in this game

changes based on the number of players indeed

It is direct interaction

because we fight here on the board

but, for example, in a two players game, unless you decide to fight right away

and by the way, crossing the sea, that is also dangerous

in a situation like this, most likely you will prefer to expand first

and then cracking each others towards the end

when, with more players

with only one land between each other

sooner or later you'll get to beat each other more frequently

There's interaction with the use of spy cards

these can be really infamous

cards really annoying

some can even help ourselves

and the game encourages you to utilize them

There's s little bit of interaction, but very, very indirect

in the trade phase

where you buy and sell resources

Now, If I know that a player, next turn

is really desperate for military units

I'll try to rise the price

even if it can then turn back on me

This by the way is an interaction that pops out when you're much more expert

Variable setup

There's not so much variability in the setup

The map is always the same

Yes, there are the land sheets that... wait, let's see if I can reach for them...

there are the land sheets, that you can choose from several at the beginning

Even if it is suggested to chose the one with

mountains, plains and forests

for an easier game

but when you'll be expert you can choose different

a big difference is made up by the missions for sure

the ones drawn at the beginning

they give you a direction and change the game setup

as the spy cards

but then there's not a real, big difference between a play-through and another

because what you will do is expand, build

conquer, beat the others

and try to win

In the end what I think of this game

I must tell you the truth

Knowing it was an "american" game, I turn up my nose

but playing it, a bit I was hit by the gorgeous components

but I was really blasted from the economic part in this game

it is really awesome

the tax management, the happiness management during all the round

what you do reflects on your population

If you make others players conquer you, the population is sad

you lose points, you could go in revolt

or if you tax them too much

meanwhile if you conquer other lands, if you manage to take to your side a dragon

They are happy, pleased, they see you powerful

and the happiness rises

The market, I really loved the market!

how it is managed

the resource management, the production

the fact that I've to expand to get more lands to produce more

the building of the structures

The economic part is what I absolutely loved the most for sure

The battles...

being direct interaction, I loved them a little less

and at the beginning I found them a little hard to manage

but then, really, as told me by the authors,

they became more accessible to manage

It's like the first time you look at the Matrix code

and you can't understand a thing

but then you begin to see the woman with the red dress

So, it's absolutely a game to try

for the american games lovers there's plenty to enjoy

the components are awesome and really good

and they will be better for sure

What else... take a look to the KS page

if it's already active

or wait September the 1st (2017) when it will start

and judge for yourself

And that's all! Thank you for joining me in this episode

but if you have any questions or comments

put them in the comments and I'll answer as soon as I can

I'm Flavio, Il Meeple con la Camicia and see you next time!

SLOW BOAT TRIP TO LUANG PRABANG - VLOG 01 - Duration: 3:22.

Today is the second day of the slow boat tour to Luang Prabang

It is 7:45 am now, the boat leaves at 9:30 am, so i better go early to get a good seat. Because i heard that there are no seat numbers today

Yesterday there have been seat numbers but nobody cared about it

We are now walking through the main street of Pak Beng

When you arrive here and get off the slow boat there are many people waiting to sell you a guesthouse

You better walk down the road as far as you can, because the further you go the cheaper it gets

The price starts with 200 000 kip, 120 000 kip, 80 000 kip, 70 000 kip and 60 000 kip per room

At a price of 60 000 kip i stopped because i was too lazy

But i think if you go even further you can spend the night for less

You can get sandwiches anywhere. Prices vary from 10 000 to 15 000 kip or you buy a meat in the morning
