[eerie music plays throughout]
Good morning, YouTube. It's Kathy.
It is just after 8 o'clock in the morning on the first day of the Sbooktacular readathon.
And I stayed up last night until 1am finishing my pre-readathon read.
So I'm a little tired. Um, my roommate is still sleeping,
so I'm gonna go to my local coffee shop - 1, to get coffee, and 2, to start reading
the first 3 books for my readathon. My thing that I'm going to try to do
which is what I did for the BookTubeAThon - is read my 3 shortest books on the first day.
Giving myself some time to finish the other books on the next few days.
Something I forgot mentioned as I work six out of the seven days of this readathon, so I only have this Friday
off to really cram a bunch of reading.
And I have to go to work later today, so I don't know if I'm gonna make it through all three, but I'm gonna try
Okay, I've been caffeinated, and I've read my first book, "Spell on Wheels". It was really cute.
I really like it, and I really hope there's more in the series
'cause I'm gonna have to look them up and read them, because I really liked the characters in that book.
Cafe started getting really loud
so I'm gonna go home, and because it's Wednesday, I'm going to read in my bathtub, because that's what I do
every Wednesday. Actually, on my brief walk home,
there's something here that you guys might appreciate.
The telephone poles in my area get painted quite often and somebody turn this one into a library.
Complete with Harry Potter.
Reading update: so I finished my second book in the bathtub, and I showed you a shot of that.
Did you see how blue that water was? Because it kind of stained my entire tub and kind of stained me.
And I haven't really looked that color since G.I.S.H.W.H.E.S. a couple of years ago when I painted half my body blue.
So I finished the book and then I spent about 10 minutes scrubbing the tub and then another 10 minutes scrubbing me,
and I really hope there isn't blue still on me somewhere that I can't see, like my back.
Anyway, that means I'm gonna go on to Killing Gravity, after I've, you know, gotten dressed.
So I've got about 58 pages of Killing Gravity left, but I have to go to work now,
so I'm gonna try to read it on my break and on the way home from work, maybe.
And then maybe just at home after work before I go to sleep and then I'll have
read the first three books of the challenge, in one day.
And I'm home from work.
I still have about 42 pages left, so I'm going to read those before I'm going to sleep, and I got book mail.
I'm pretty sure I know exactly what this is but let me open it and show it to you. Anyway. I was actually wrong.
It's Queens of Geek.
I thought it was something else, but I realized that that's not actually I've until next month, so fair enough.
I read this during the BookTubeAThon in one day, on the first day actually, so this is a weird,
ironic, cyclic thing going on. And I fell in love with it and decided
I needed my own copy because it's adorable. If you haven't read it, read it. So cute.
Good morning, it is day two.
I am hiding in the bathroom because my roommate is sleeping.
Yesterday I managed to complete
three books.Today I will probably complete no books, but I'm going to start
Autobiography of a Corpse. Today is the one day where I have to be social
because I got a brunch every Thursday morning with a friend.
We watch Downton Abbey, and I'm very excited for it, and then I go to work.
So I will read some of this before going.
I will read some of it, probably, at work.
Then maybe I'll read some after work, but I - I'm not gonna finish this.
That being said, tomorrow, Friday, is the one day I have off during the entire readathon
so I will hopefully read at least an entire book.
And then maybe finish this one, too.
We'll find out.
Update on the way to brunch.
I started reading the titular short story in that collection
and I don't know this collection.
I didn't realize when I picked it up that it's
early 20th century and also translated.
So it's not exactly my style of writing that I can easily get through.
Uh, but I'm gonna give it a try.
I mean, it's my "Read Any Book" so I can easily switch it out and, like,
reread "Turtles All the Way Down," which I want to do anyways.
So, I'll figure out out, one way or the other.
Hello, it's day 3. I realized I haven't actually talked to you today.
So I spent most of the day, as you can probably tell,
it's already dark out now, finishing "Once Upon a Crime," so I have now finished four books for this challenge.
And I'm about to start "The Replacement" which is the "Knife on the Cover" challenge.
"Once Upon a Crime" was really cute.
It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I thought it was gonna be more of a hardcore mystery.
I didn't realize there were a lot of, like,
fairy tale elements to it. Although, I should have. If I had just read any synopsis,
I would have realized that, but it had this weird mixture of, like,
1700s Bavaria fairy tales and then, like, modern life type of things. So it was enjoyable, for sure.
End of day three wrap up in my bathroom, because, you know, there's good light here.
So not only did I finish "Once Upon a Crime,"
I'm about halfway through "The Replacement" and it's really good so far. Like I didn't know much going into it
and I'm really enjoying it. I think I'm gonna finish that one off, probably tomorrow after work.
I work a full shift tomorrow, so it'll be a stretch to get it done.
Just because I have so much not reading time, but I think I'm get it done.
That will make that my fifth book. My sixth book is an audio book.
I have about five hours of that left and then my seventh book - I was going to be reading
Autobiography of a Corpse, but as I already mentioned,
I'm not really enjoying it, so I'm just gonna reread "Turtles All the Way Down".
Which should take about a day.
The thing is I don't have another day during the read-a-thon where I'm not working, so either
I'm going to have to read it
after work and be super tired for work the next day, or split it up over two days.
Either way, I think I'm gonna make it all the way through, guys.
Welcome to my Nonfiction November TBR!
Hi, it's Friday [actually Saturday]
It's day 4 and because I'm a nutcase, I just filmed a TBR for a different readathon that I'm doing next month.
And now I'm trying to decide if I'm going to edit that and then finish reading the book that I'm reading,
or read the book and then edit. Think I'll edit. It shouldn't take too long, and then I will have
lots of time to read still.
All right, I did it. Book five is in the can.
Which means I just need to finish the audiobook I'm listening to, and read all of "Turtles All the Way Down"
again.... because I want to.
Good morning, it is Sunday.
It's day five the Sbooktacular readathon, and I haven't done any reading today
because I just sat down and recorded my Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up.
So if you want some thoughts on the books that I've already talked about to you,
but in like very blurry eyed, not knowing what I'm talking about because I'm tired type of ways,
and you want some eloquent words, I will link that video.
I'm not crying; you're crying.
And with that, it is day six, and I finished all seven books of the challenge. also
Also, there's people watching hockey in my house, which is why I'm recording this outside in the dark.
It's been kind of fun to bring my camera around and do kind of random, unscripted
blurbs at it while I'm reading. If it's something you've enjoyed,
let me know and I'll keep doing it.
If it's something completely unintelligible, and you do not enjoy me not knowing what the hell
I'm talking about. please let me know that too, and I'll just stop doing it.
Have you read any of these books?
Let me know but it down in the comments below, and I will talk to you soon. Bye.
