So when we look at Jupiter, we see a lot of

structure that looks very similar to the Earth.

We can see storms, we see cyclones, we see anticyclones,

and these sort of storms and weather systems that we see on

Earth are very similar and are happening on Jupiter.

Fluid mechanics is hopefully the same everywhere in the universe,

but Jupiter and Earth are very different.

Jupiter is much bigger, it rotates a lot faster, they're

made of different material, and Jupiter is much further away

from the Sun than the Earth is.

The quasi-biennial oscillation, or the QBO, on Earth is an

equatorial phenomenon in the stratosphere where the winds are

changing direction approximately every two years.

Depending on which phase the QBO is in, eastward or westward, the

temperature signal corresponds to that, so it's warmer in the

eastward phase and cooler in the westward phase.

It's been shown that it can actually be a barrier to

transport of aerosols across the equator, and has been linked to

the frequency and the formation of hurricanes in the Atlantic

and the Pacific Ocean.

The long-term scales on Earth's climate is something that we're

very interested in, and how that applies to other planets'

atmospheres is really why we're studying Earth and Jupiter.

The quasi-quadrennial oscillation in Jupiter's

stratosphere is a temperature signal that we see in the

equator, where we see the temperature get warmer and

cooler approximately every four Earth years.

We used a general circulation model, where we focused on

simulating the effects of small-scale waves produced from

convection in Jupiter's equatorial region to simulate

the QQO.

The waves propagate upwards from the clouds and force the winds

in the stratosphere to change direction, going from eastward

to westward approximately every four years.

Our model was able to reproduce the behavior of the QQO, but was

also able to reproduce temperatures from the

observations, and both of those together give us a lot of

confidence that our model is very accurate in what's driving

the QQO.

The outer planets serve as a laboratory for understanding

atmospheric physics under very different conditions than are

present on the Earth.

Understanding how their atmospheres change and evolve

and their climates can give us insight

into any planetary atmosphere.

2017 Year in Review with Mayor Nenshi - Duration: 5:51.

At the City of Calgary we work hard to make life better every day through economic

downturn and hardship into recovery and growth. In 2017 at The City of Calgary

we've invested and we've thought and we've worked hard to stimulate the

economy and create jobs, to manage traffic congestion, to invest in transit

and to invest in even safer communities. And once again this year we were named

one of the most livable cities in the entire world. For thousands of years

people have been coming to this land this place that the Blackfoot called

Moh'kinsstis and we honour today the Blackfoot people the Tsuut'ina people

the Stoney Nakoda people the Metis people and we remember that this place

has served as a beacon of light and hope in a cold and dark world to people from

all over the earth. At The City of Calgary we have a simple purpose, we make

life better every day and I'd like to share with you how we in 2017 worked

hard to make life better every day across our

five priorities. While we're entering a fragile economic recovery the fact

remains that far too many of our neighbours and friends are still feeling

the pain of unemployment and of this economic downturn and The City's there

to help. This year alone we've invested nearly 2 billion dollars into the

economy to build infrastructure that we need, creating almost 7,500 direct jobs.

We've supported 50 new businesses in moving to Calgary, we've helped 8,000 new

startups across the city. We've attracted over 4 billion dollars from our partners

in the development industry in new building construction in the city and we

invested hard for the first time in years in building new and renovated

affordable housing. And we worked hard with our community partners to implement

our anti-poverty strategy 'Enough for All' including building community hubs across

the city and investing in Canada's very first sliding scale transit pass so that

people living in poverty can participate in the city and get around for as little

as $5 a month. This summer we opened 20 new transportation projects including

four brand-new interchanges one of which is Canada's first diverging diamond

interchange at MacLeod and 162nd south, one of our

most chronic bottleneck points and we finally started the work to address the

congestion on Crowchild Trail over the Bow River. And we're not gonna stop.

We'll continue investing in road projects and also the largest investment

in public transit in our history, building out a network of bus rapid

transit routes that take you north-south and east-west across the city and of

course the largest public works project in our history, the Green Line. When the

Green Line is done it will double the LRT network in Calgary with the first

phase serving north and south east Calgary opening in 2026.

And we've done a lot of work stewarding our land, air and water this year. The

biggest thing of course is the introduction of the Green Cart program

which has already diverted more than half of our garbage from the landfill. Well on

our way to our goal of 70 percent. Together we'll keep Calgary one of the

cleanest cities on earth and a city that encourages healthy lifestyles for

everyone. We've opened two brand new Rec Centers, there's two more on deck.

We brought mobile skate parks across the city and encourage all Calgarians to

incorporate a little bit of physical activity in their day, every day, through

initiatives like Get Moving YYC and The Mayor's Walk Challenge. Building

inspiring neighborhood starts with our physical surroundings and we built new

fire halls and community infrastructure to enable great new neighbourhoods and

revitalized existing ones. We've invested in Prairie Winds park, northeast

Calgary's crown jewel and in the Main Streets program that will bring more

shopping and living opportunities to 33 streets across the city. The great

neighbourhoods are about so much more than bricks and mortar, they're about

people getting to know their neighbours and doing great things together. And in

October we had the highest voter turnout in over 40 years.

Calgarians are excited and engaged in the future of this city. We all want a

well-run city and my colleagues at The City of Calgary delivered that every

single day. In the last four years we found over 325

million dollars in efficiencies in our budget that have gone straight to the

bottom line and to keeping your taxes low. In fact, among the lowest of any

major city in Canada. And we've done that while maintaining a

stellar credit rating, one of the best of any city in Canada ensuring we've got

the capacity and capability to invest in the things that we need.

Finally our citizen satisfaction ratings are among the highest anywhere. In the

end 2017 was a great year and you know what 2018 will be even better. We're

gonna have some amazing things happen like the opening of our new Rocky Ridge

Recreation Facility and later in the year the magnificent new Central Library

will be open to everyone but more important we're gonna recommit to

building community together every day so I encourage every one of you to think

about your three things for Canada. What three acts of community service will you

pledge to do? It can be something small shovel your neighbours walk or something

big join your local community association. It doesn't matter if it's

big or small, what matters is that it's service because if every one of us do

that what a message we send to the world that

we as Calgarians understand that the future of humanity is about community

and the future of community is about service. So thank you all for your

service. Thank you for what you do every single day to make this community

stronger and better and on behalf of my City of Calgary colleagues and from my

family to yours Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018

Spieth's spelling helper, kiddos of golf & #WB2K17 - Duration: 1:43.

That Monday feeling…

Don't worry, he got it on the second try.

In honor of Santa coming this weekend, we have some adorable kiddos in this week's

episode of the Good, Bad & Unusual and it looks like Jordan Spieth has himself a little

helper…

I'd give this kid an 'A.' A teacher from Kansas City, Missouri, tweeted out a

spelling test from one of her students, where they were asked to spell the word "speech."

Well this kid wrote Spieth instead and I give them a gold star.

Hey Dad!

Watch this!

If at first you don't succeed, just keep putting…

A family affair this week, Stewart Cink with his son in the PNC Father Son Challenge gave

us this LOL of the Week.

His son Reagan after out driving dad saying quote, "In this tournament I may be your

son, but right now I'm your Daddy!"

Meanwhile, while Rickie Fowler was celebrating his 29th birthday…

The Spring Break crew got the band back together for #WB2K17 with Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth,

Smylie Kaufman, Tom Lovelady & more down in Cabo.

And it looks like they are enjoying their offseason…

I loved all of your winter golf posts last week keep sending those in over the winter

break and keep an eye out for the Best of the Good, Bad & Unusual of 2017 – plus a

special Animal Encounters episode.

With those year-end specials coming your way, I will see you in 2018!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Everyone,

this girl is also a member of Room 305

I invited her to come to Padlom's birthday party.

Hello, gorgeous.

You can do it.

Everyone, can I be your friend?

Of course. You are Grace. I remember you

Hey, how come you're here with Id?

She's my new friend.

What about you two?

You're dancing and holding hands

That's not all. Can I borrow you for a sec?

I saw you guys do this.

I bet they did it.

Did what?

Your bodies touched.

Spoil, that's against the tradition

You need to ask for shorty's hand in marriage

What are you talking about?

Are you going to follow her?

Go.

Go.

Spoil, can I please sit with you?

No, go sit over there.

Don't stress out.

The guys were just joking around

Wait, you talk to me differently.

That's weird.

How so?

Why don't you use swear words like you used to?

Do you want to eat some cake?

Why?

I can feed you.

No, I have hands. I can feed myself

But for this bite, let me feed you. Here

No.

Spoil, I'm serious

About what?

About pursuing you.

Do I look horrible?

You look cute.

Really?

So cute.

You do it, too.

Ghost, look after Grace.

She is not accustomed to hanging out with men

Anyway, are you supposed to be Mulan or a goblin?

Put your hands in front.

Jump.

You got it.

You look like a mule.

Mulan!

Grace, let me ask you something.

Which one is scarier: hanging out with a girl like Ghost

or guys like us?

Don't be mean to her.

Ghost, take care of Grace.

Thanks.

Like this?

What happened to you?

I ate cake too fast.

I will change out of this costume

Will you change, too?

No, I'm going home in this dress

Cute

Me?

Yes.

I'll make this mess again tomorrow.

It's cute.

Really?

I'll do this again tomorrow.

P'Padlom, get in the group shot

Date: 22/12

Finally, I am 20 years old.

My Big Two's birthday celebration is kind of weird but fun

Room 305 is full of crazies

But all of them make me smile.

The only exception is this cupcake.

I don't want anybody in that room to be the lovesick bear

Happy Birthday. You looked happy today.

You said you'd help me clean up the room

Are you really going to make me do this by myself on my birthday?

Padlom, what are you doing here?

P'Gent.

Padlom, do you have to go home straight away?

Do you want to get dinner?

K. Michelle's Christmas List | Holiday Gift Guide - Duration: 1:59.

- I consider myself a black American princess.

I love the movie B.A.P.S.

I love the whole thing,

and for Christmas, I'm going to B.A.P. out some people.

Prada Candy, I absolutely love the packaging of it.

I would give that to my sister.

I would B.A.P. her out with that

because she has all this different smell good things.

And she loves perfumes and things like that.

The ASOS shoes are super funky.

I love anything that's kind of over the top, funkadelic.

I would gift myself with those shoes,

because I love a jean.

I love a funky shoe, and they look comfortable.

The Keyshia Kai-or Waist Eraser is like

kind of in the culture.

You know what I'm saying?

People work out with it, everything like that,

so I definitely would give it to

one of my friends who's always begging me

to pay for their lipo.

I want two things for Christmas.

I want that Peloton thing; I think that's the name of it.

It's the workout bike where you run,

and then it has the screen interactive.

I have to be tricked into working out,

so I think that's the way to trick me into working out.

And also, I've been very open with my body,

it's time for a new body.

It's time to re-up on the lipo,

and I did so much with my butt and things like that.

And I've been getting it back to Kimberly.

The butt going back to Kimberly too,

'cause I had named her Betsy.

The best gift I ever got for Christmas:

my sweetheart bought me a car last year.

He bought me a Porsche for Christmas,

so I was super excited about that Porsche.

And the craziest thing happened.

Intercontinental lost it.

They did lose my Porsche.

We got it back, and I won a lawsuit

'cause I had a lost Porsche.

But that was my most memorable gift.

What up, y'all?

It's your girl, K. Michelle,

and you're watching Holiday Gift Guide with BET.

Ronnie Moas: Cryptos, Crashes, and Causes that Matter // interview bitcoin cyptocurrencies - Duration: 22:59.

Ronnie Moas: Cryptos, Crashes, and Causes that Matter // interview bitcoin cyptocurrencies david moadel

welcome to looking at the markets with David Modell my very special guest today

is mr. Ronnie mullahs he boy he is involved in so many great things

yes he's known for making unbelievably accurate predictions in terms of Bitcoin

and cryptocurrencies in general he's been right time after time but he's also

involved in other things such as food for the poor and we're going to be

discussing that as well because that's important to mr. Mohan it's important to

me we'll also talk a little bit about equities and stocks and any ideas or

predictions on the direction of the stock market in 2018 and beyond mr. moe

laughs welcome to looking at the markets sir thank you for having me today thank

you for being on here I know you're a busy man you've been doing so many

interviews and I've watched probably almost all of them if not all of them so

you know people have questions about Kryptos and we'll jump right into and

then we'll get into food for the poor and and beyond so there's a well-known

Warren Buffett quote he has I'm sure you've heard it many times mr. Buffett

who I respect very highly and perhaps you do too has called Bitcoin a big

bubble and he has actually said quote you can't value Bitcoin because it's not

a value producing asset what is your response to that sir what is a value

producing asset my response to that is look at the US dollar it's dropped 75%

of its value since I was born 50 years ago Gold doesn't isn't a value producing

asset I don't even know how much gold there is in the ground I know how much

Bitcoin there is and I also know that in the next couple of years we are going to

be in a situation where there are hundreds of millions of account holders

around the world trying to get their hands on a few million Bitcoin and there

will be no supply reaction from the supply side of this equation because

there can't be it's a mathematical formula the supply is camped and this

mind Modelling supply-demand imbalance here

is what will drive this price deep into the six figures in the next few years as

far as Warren Buffett goes with all due respect he missed a lot of the names

that came out of the Nasdaq 20 years ago and he will be the first to admit that

to you I don't expect him to understand or get his arms around this concept

either it's just not his area of expertise right we're not getting

involved in equities or investments that he doesn't understand thoroughly so I

guess we can't blame him for not getting involved but for the younger generations

this crypto revolution that's what I'm calling it is so exciting I'm sure

you're maybe sick and tired of people asking for price targets but I got to

say it you know 2018 what are we looking at here well I recently raised my price

target on Bitcoin from 20,000 to 28,000 that's just the next year and I imagine

I'm probably going to revise it higher as the news headlines come out and as

the dominoes and obstacles in crypto sway fall down I adjust my price target

accordingly if you want to look out three years I see a $150,000 target

there and it's very conservative the way I'm calculating this we have 200

trillion dollars right now around the world tied up in stocks cash bonds and

gold and all four of them are overvalued if two percent of that 200 trillion

dollars ends up in crypto you're looking at a four trillion dollar market

capitalization for the entire space and that would be almost seven times where

we are today if Bitcoin holds on to its current market share it puts the price

at $140,000 and that's using a two percent figure now if you want to look

out seven to ten years I think that in game a year is that Bitcoin will go from

where it is now number fourteen in the world on the car

it's evaluation rankings 193 currencies bitcoin is now number 14 I think it's

going to number one and if it goes to number one it would have a market

valuation of between six and seven trillion dollars and when Thai gold and

China at the top of that rankings table and it would put the price between 300

and 400 thousand dollars depending on how long it takes to get there and where

gold and the Chinese currency are trading at the time by coincidence they

both have the same valuation right now fascinate has now and current investors

be concerned I'm talk about Bitcoin investors long-term should they be

concerned about the possibility of the government creating their own token to

compete with that because they would have something powerful they would have

a government backed token and is that something people should be concerned

about I'm not too worried about that boss there are more than 150 countries

in the world so unless it's China or South Korea or Russia or the United

States I would not be too concerned and even if one of those countries cracked

down or issued their own currency it would not be too much of a concern of

mine boss this the rest of the world that will pick up that slack and that

supplier may get dumped by that particular currency gotcha and there's

only 21 million that's the cap where 16 million now but there are estimates that

4 million or 3 million have been lost so right now we only have 12 million in

circulation and I would say two-thirds of those aren't even available for sale

I know I'm not selling my Bitcoin and my neighbor is not selling his so you're

looking at maybe 3 4 5 million available for sale at any given time and so no one

country is going to be big enough to destroy the supply-demand imbalance that

we have here yes it would be shock the headline would cause a little

bit of a panic if God forbid a couple of big countries come up with a joint

statement on the same day that could be nasty but I don't think that's going to

happen understand now who do you think does better when it comes to Bitcoin

investing a so-called Hodler somebody who just buys and holds for dear life no

matter what comes or somebody like me who likes to buy the dips because I've

noticed that Bitcoin comes up back up and more every time it dips who do you

think that's better over time that's a good question and I have an

answer for you you have to play Bitcoin the same way you played Amazon during

the last 15 years it went from twenty dollars to eleven hundred and fifty from

twenty dollars to 1150 even though there were people trying to short the crap out

of that in the last 15 years the entire way on the way up they said this company

is losing money on every book that they sold but that they sell and that was the

that was the bear argument for many years up until recently and the way that

you made money with Amazon is the same way you make money with bitcoin you have

to buy it you have to hold on to it for a few years and every time there was a

nasty correction you have to add to your position when it goes on sale when Jamie

Dimon made his ridiculous comments back in September

Bitcoin dropped from 3,800 to 3,200 within 24 hours and I told my

subscribers you have to buy this guess what it's up six hundred percent on a

fork and split adjusted basis since he said that one thing that's important

sure I have to girl call me a week or two ago and she was crying to me on the

phone she says Ronnie one of these guys on Twitter who sells bitcoins sell

signals based on a chart pattern told me to get out of Bitcoin when it hit 9:00

$700 last night and this was a couple of weeks ago or a few weeks ago and he says

get out of it it hit the top of its trading range at 9700 and if you get out

now you'll be able to buy it back at seven or eight thousand dollars when it

corrects she went to bed at 9700 exited her position the next day at had eleven

thousand four hundred and today it's at nineteen thousand and change yeah yeah

so that's what happens when people tried to trade this it's like the stock market

you can time the market you have to know when to get out when to get in when to

get back out again when to get back in again and eventually you will get burned

away this girl did yeah 75% of your Bitcoin money locked out on a treasure

device okay and then you can trade the other twenty five percent that's okay if

you like the trading game you wake up at three o'clock in the morning on a Sunday

you have nothing else to do the Bitcoin market is open you want to make a couple

of trades that's fine but three-quarters of your Bitcoin money should probably be

locked up in a buy and hold portfolio that makes a lot of sense to me now

speaking of your subscribers I'm looking at standpoint research calm right now

that link is in the description of this video I want everybody to go visit that

it says right here looking at your performance page since 2004 you have

beaten the S&P 500 by at least 500 basis points with 66% of your recommendations

no firm has been able to match that accuracy I think that's fantastic now

when people go to your website what services do you offer what will they see

there well I put email I put out research via email four to five times a

week and I put out between 50 and 75 stock and crypto recommendations during

the course of the year I have a top ten ranking versus more than four thousand

people on Wall Street for my performance the last ten years every single one of

the six hundred recommendations that I put out since 2008

we're time stamped into by at least four different nose wires

including briefing comm Bloomberg and Dow Jones and I've also given 100

television newspaper radio and magazine interviews just in the last few weeks I

was on CNN CNBC Bloomberg Barron's BNN CBC and Fox with Maria Bartiromo

just this past week I just got off CNBC Asia I did a Skype interview with CNBC

Asia about an hour ago and that video will post on their website in the next

hour - and I'm very honored to have it away for my my little youtube channel so

once again thank you for doing this actually your YouTube channel than some

of those names that I just mentioned trust me okay okay I appreciate that

yeah I mean again I'm looking at the services you offer you have services not

only for institutions but also for individuals you have basic and premium

options for members it is affordable I know that you will tailor it according

to you know what people can't afford and what is reasonable for them so that's

really fantastic Fanta excellent excellent just want to

talk about equities in general for a moment I mean 2017 has benefited almost

everybody except anybody who shorted just about anything in the equity

markets the VIX is at all-time lows it's gone below 9 a couple times this year

unbelievable I don't know can this continue is it sustainable or do people

just need to get the heck out of stocks right now I think if you took some money

off the table you would not regret doing so I think that there might be another

six 8% upside here but the downside is double a triple add what's funny is I

actually put out a poll on my Twitter page yesterday I will be getting my

twenty thousand follower on Twitter next week sometime yeah a new poll was what

do you think will hit 30,000 first the number of Twitter followers that I have

the Dow Jones or Bitcoin and two-thirds of the people it was like

66% of the people felt that we would hit 30,000 on Bitcoin first 30 percent of

the people Foyle I would hit my thirty thousand follower first only three

percent of the seven hundred people that voted thought the Dow Jones would hit

thirty thousand before Bitcoin and my follower account does which is really

stunning bullets were already above 25,000 on Dow Jones yeah and I agree

with that I think that this market is overvalued my ideas are generated by a

one hundred fifty five variable computer model that took me five years to develop

and three-quarters of the names are overvalued and then from what remains

most of those names are value traps or fairly valued 90% of the names of the

S&P 500 I won't even look at because I'm a la guy and good valuations so one of

one thing that's important I'm sorry to important me important for me too and I

think the stock market will just will double from where we are in the next 20

years ok the problem is we could get a nasty

correction in the next year or two so the question is do you want to try to

pull out and hope that you get to buy those names back at a lower price what

do you want to just stick it out and stay in the game

and not check your statement on a regular basis so every boss you know

market timing is something that historically does not work very well but

I think the odds are probably tipped in your favor especially if you rotate some

money into crypto that chances are you're not going to regret that trade in

the near term yeah I tend to that right now people getting into equities are as

the old saying goes picking up nickels in front of a

steamroller I think that cutting back on exposure to equities there's nothing

wrong with that cash is king and if cash is king then maybe crypto currencies or

even bet are even higher than the king so right yeah totally agree and by the

way you touched upon your winter account people should visit that

as soon as they're done watching this it is at Ronnie moss and I will put that

link in the description and on the screen right now as well all right I

wanted to talk about something super important there are things more

important than getting rich on kryptos and equities and that is helping others

something that you've been passionate about I have a master's degree in

education I'm a former elementary school teacher so I know that you and I have

something in common we're not in this for the money we're in this because we

want to help people that's just our personality as educators in the world

I'm gonna put a link in the description as well for your particular link for

food for the poor dot org and I'm actually looking at the I see your goal

on the unfor the poor is ten million dollars

you've got five hundred fifty five donations so far and that's only that's

what's listed it'll probably be updated pretty soon so what is this initiative

all about no that's an updated total I've already raised more than a hundred

thousand dollars we got donation number 555 a few minutes ago but this is just

starting to gain momentum I have some celebrities on board now that will be

helping me drive people to this page and I've done a lot of interviewers recently

an interview that I did with B and N Canada a week ago has already been seen

more than 280,000 times on YouTube so this is starting to gain a lot of

momentum this fundraiser that I'm doing for food for the poor it is a

magnificent charity they distributed last year a billion dollars in

humanitarian aid administrative expenses were less than five percent

it's a firestarter charity that was established in 1982 their headquarters

is a few minutes away from where I live in my I live in Miami Beach their

headquarters is in Coconut Creek I have given so much of my own time and money

to this charity over the years that the executive director took me with him as

his special guest to Haiti a few months ago and I see how people live on $3 a

day and how drainages starving to death there and

you know you donate $100 to this fundraising page that I have it pays for

400 pounds of rice and beans and that's enough to keep two starving children

alive for an entire year there are 3,600 dollars we can build a 400 square foot

concrete home and take a family of six people off the street I figure from the

cryptocurrency explosion if you've doubled your money as many tripled or if

you've had some ten beggars why not give back some I think exactly to who much is

given much is expected it's straight from the Bible and you

know people have no excuse if they're following me on Twitter and they haven't

paid for my subscription service the very least they could do is give

something to the charity it's the least that anybody could do you know we're not

talking about a massive donation it's affordable for just about anybody so

please go to that even if just a few and I hope more than a few people you know

respond to this and donate you're going to probably save some lives I mean this

is a organization that offers food housing clean water education emergency

relief and more fighting poverty in 17 countries in the Caribbean and Latin

America so please donate and that link again is in the description by the way

David we did add Porto Rico to that list after the recent talk and that's talk

there I think that's great fantastic that that is so important so I want to

see I want folks if you're watching this please give do it just do it don't thank

so much alright and and finally want to talk about other the so called altcoins

which is a funny name because all it sounds like alternative although Bitcoin

itself is the alternative but you know people who feel like they maybe missed

the bus on Bitcoin they're getting involved in some altcoins

ripple you know which was specifically mentioned by Bill Gates aetherium seems

to be powerful litecoin seems to be more affordable perhaps than

Bitcoin a certain to some people I get it are there any alt coins that you're

particularly excited about right now well the problem is is that I've

recommended five alt coins recently and they have all jumped by between 150 and

800 percent so obviously I don't feel the same way about them now as I did a

few months ago I recommended Cardinal to my subscribers three weeks ago and it's

already out seven hundred percent I recommended stellar two days before

that and it's also up several hundred percent Manero was another

recommendation I put out it was trading below a hundred dollars at the time now

it's trading above three hundred dollars like coin and etherium with two other

names that I've recommended both of those who are up sharply I don't think

bitcoin is in a bubble but I am a little bit concerned once you go below Bitcoin

that a rising tide is lifting all boats right now and I'll have these names on

the top fifty and have market caps of a half a billion a billion two billion

three billion dollars are not worth anywhere near that and that could be an

accident waiting to happen you have to be very careful with the

altcoins off the table right now and selling a little bit into this rally if

you're out five hundred percent take 20% off the table and then you're playing

with house money and you're not risking any of your own initial investment pigs

get fat hogs get slaughtered and turned into bacon that's what I say on Wall

Street and it applies to the all coins right now very true so you're not just

an unrestrained bull you're exercising caution you know when to take profits

that's hugely important it's not just the entry strategy it's the exit

strategy and you can find all of that both with the free content as well as

the premium services on standpoint research calm people should check that

out also once again the Twitter is at Ronnie

and mola sorrow and iëm OAS that's all in the description

and on your screen right now mr. mo last I know your time is valuable

I'll wrap it up but is there anything else you wanted to say to my audience no

I think we did we covered a lot of ground and though we could leave

something for next time thank you for having me oh my goodness there might be

a next time I'm excited that's fantastic yeah Thank You mr. Merlotte's for

joining me you're welcome back anytime sir on looking at the markets thank you

David thank you for watching please like

Retirement - Learn From My 401k Mistakes - 401k Fees Hurt - Duration: 13:05.

hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the financial investor channel my

name is Brent and today we're going to be covering my old 401k plan now we're

gonna be going into this and this is a 401k plan that I started back in 2013 it

was the very first time that I had the option of starting a 401k plan prior to

2013 I was in the military from oh four till 2013 so my option during that time

was my TSP my thrift savings plan and I also have that kind of going still in

the background but I didn't have a lot of experience with my 401k and I'm gonna

be talking about some easy mistakes that everyone can that can happen anyone if

you don't take a look at your 401k plan I'm gonna be sharing some of the

mistakes that I made am I not going in and customizing them and then I'm gonna

be showing you some of the fees that I was hit with during my three years at my

last company so that's what's in store for this video of course if you are

brand new to my channel I do make stock market and financial investment videos

weekly so do consider subscribing for that so with that let's go ahead and

jump into the video so as I log into my Merrill Lynch retirement area I'll have

the option here you know I left this job back in March of 2017 and right now I

have some important decisions to make I could roll it over into my current

current 401k plan which is my current option right now a benefit season just

opened up at my current business yeah my current job and I can rollover my 401k

into my 401k at my current job or I could just leave it here and let it you

know build up in this portfolio now if I wanted to take it with me there are some

issues that I would run across and one of them would be that I was only here

with company for three years they have a

vesting schedule of I believe six or seven years I don't remember but

essentially what the vesting schedule is and this is something that I cover and

my step-by-step guide to investing in your Roth 401k or your 401k take a look

at the plan and they have a vesting schedule in there and essentially every

single year that you're with them up until the the max year you're only you

only get a percentage of what they match you and what they profit share with you

so if they match you five percent or five percent and you're there for one

year if you leave after that one year they may have matched you for five

percent if you deposited twenty five hundred and they deposit twenty five

hundred and that's five thousand dollars and you left you may only get ten

percent of that twenty five hundred so you would get what twenty five dollars

you would only have something around there maybe two hundred and fifty

dollars you would get two hundred and fifty dollars of their contributed two

thousand five hundred dollars because with the vesting schedule you were only

eligible for ten percent of what you have what they had invested towards you

as you stay with the company for longer say three years maybe you get forty

percent four years you get sixty percent five years you get 80 percent and at

six-year mark you get a hundred percent of what they contributed you know they

match towards you and what they profit shared with you I wasn't there for that

long so I don't have access to some of those funds so some of the reasons I

would leave it here is because I have access to a larger amount you know I

have their contributions as well as my contributions working for my portfolio

so here I do have the option again to rollover or I could just kind of leave

it here choose different funds and just kind of let it sit now as they go into

the account summary this is mainly where people stop looking they log on here

they see that the current balance is ninety four hundred they're hunky-dory

and they log out and they don't back in for another few months you know

they're happy with it they see that they're balanced on the first of January

was 6400 they made fifteen hundred dollars in contributions their other

activity was fourteen hundred dollars and I was only with this company for

three months in 2017 I was there January February March so I made briefly 525

dollars a month in contributions and this may be either the activity from the

capital gains or it could be the matching contributions that they did so

this is generally where most people stop you know they're not interested in going

into the you know the grittier part so in this case you guys need to go out

there and you want to go and take a look at your actual account information so

you're gonna click on your account information you want to take a look at

your account history you want to see what your options are and what you can

take a look at you know I was really wanting to take a look at what kind of

fees were they getting hit with where they monthly fees where they yearly fees

there's a lot of expense ratios out there that you know they give you some

sort of a point seven four percent expense ratio for every thousand so

that's seven dollars and forty cents that you're getting charged for every

thousand dollars inside of your 401k plan so I wanted to see what kind of

fees was I getting hit with so I selected everything because I also want

to see my dividends my contributions and you know my funds my distributions

inside so I also wanted to see up to 24 months I believe I did this for looks

like two years so two years here I did from November 2015 until November 2017

then hit continue so right off the bat here you can see that my 2015 so I was

with this company about a year and a half now I was contributing around fifty

fifty one sixty one dollars and oh right in that area looks like it jumped up you

know it was based off my paycheck and I was an hourly worker at this time so my

paychecks were always a little bit sporadic

one month I may make a little bit last one month I may make a little bit more

because I worked overtime or I had more hours or something and so these

contributions would always be up and down up and down so what I started to

notice here was that these record-keeping fees $9.75 then I had

another record-keeping fee for five cents then I had a dividend of 41 cents

contributions okay I had 700 dollars in contributions 78 68 68 76 then I had a

nice ten dollar dividend then I got ten dollars removed I had a record-keeping

fee planned sponsor fee record-keeping fee record-keeping fee record-keeping P

and this kind of trails on and on and on so every month I was getting hit with

another $10 record-keeping B so you can see here that the ten dollar

record-keeping fee happened in January and it also happened in March April

April April so April was the second one so look like every quarter that was a

record-keeping key a record-keeping fee of around $10 so this is something that

I could have easily eliminated by you know taking a look at the plan what

could I change to remove the record-keeping fee was it the fun that I

was invested in now I didn't change or customize the fund that I was investing

in so that was my fault this is something that I tell others you know

when looking at their 401 K definitely customize it take a look at way our

options are because oftentimes you're going to get put into a fund that has a

higher annual fee or some sort of expense ratio and that's going to be

digging into the money that you're contributing in there so you can see

that into the recent years 2016 through 2017 here I was still getting hit with

these record-keeping feeds in October and then another one here

and the first of January so every quarter I was getting hit with another

$10 record-keeping fee so that's $40 in a year that I was having to pay out of

my account so I may have made dividends looks like I had quarterly dividend so

every three months you can see here I got paid on twelve sixteen then twelve

thirty a dividend these dividends are actually really high $67 $77 and then I

had dividends in March June and September

but these record-keeping fees we're kind of eating away at my capital gains they

were eating away at my dividends and you don't want those fees hitting you you

know that's gonna drive your total appreciation and your you know what your

dividends can actually compound and snowball into so those were some of the

mistakes that I didn't do number one when I was choosing my 401k plan

I did not customize it and instead went with the default option that they had

selected with me second I never really took a look at the record-keeping fees

taking a look at it now I would have easily talked to my you know my maybe

not my HR but someone in the financial area you know my financial adviser or

whatever and talk to them a little bit about my 401k plan talk to the wall kind

of other offers that they had available and if there were any ways to get rid of

the record-keeping fees that they were charging me because that was $40 a month

I was with their $40 in a year I was with the company for three years

that's 48 times 3 that's 120 dollars that they had removed from my account

for essentially just kind of holding on to a fund so take you know lesson

learned from me and when you're at when you have the option to customize your

401k always customize it take a look at the expense ratios take a look at those

those annual fees because those will we eat away at your annual you know they'll

either way and you annual but the difference that it makes in a

long-term of money that's lost and cannot be you know it doesn't appreciate

towards your capital gains or doesn't allow you to compound dividends as fast

it really works against you in the long term so that is essentially it for this

video if you guys have anything else you guys would like to take a look at in the

future I am signing up for my current employer 401k plan I'm going on with the

Roth 401k and actually have a video coming up of the actually have an

article that I wrote up step-by-step process I've invested in your 401 K or

Roth 401 K and talk about why I decided between the 401 K and Roth 401 K and

then you know some other suggestions inside so that is it for this video if

you have liked the video go ahead and hit the like button below if you ever

took if if you ever did the same mistake didn't check your 401 k plan logged into

it and you see that you are getting hit with these maintenance fees of 10

dollars every quarter you know go ahead elite let me know in the comments below

that you're taking a look at your 401 k plan now and you're gonna be talking to

your financial advisor or someone at your company to try and get into a

different investment that may have some lower fees now it did match or maybe

even exceed the S&P 500 the actual fund that I was in but was it worth that

$40.00 that could be something you'd have to debate for yourself so that is

it for this video if you have enjoyed it remember to hit the thumbs up button

below remember to subscribe by hitting the icon in the bottom right hand corner

if you have any questions at all go ahead and leave them in the comments

below thank you for tuning in and I will see you next time have a great day
