North Korea is advancing its submarine launched ballistic missile program.
Based on an analysis of commercial satellite imagery from three separate days in mid-November,...
the U.S.-based North Korea watchdog 38 North says the regime has nearly completed a second
submersible ballistic missile test stand barge at its Nampo Navy Shipyard.
The barge is a platform that allows for underwater missile launches outside of submarines.
Once in service,... the barge will help facilitate broader testing and could allow North Korea's
West Sea fleet to obtain SLBM capabilities.
SLBMs are especially worrisome as they are much more difficult to target and detect than
land-based missiles.
