Back Home, Supplements, Training, Dining and Reading | Ep 9 of #Authentic Alex - Duration: 16:58.

Hey guys Alex here, so I'm back from my epic Finland trip to Helsinki. Huge trip ten

days away I think it was. Going over was like 35 hours of traveling, coming back I

was through the North so it was four flights - an extra flight. 44 hours of

traveling. Perfect chance to test this out the Humancharger. This is

the Oura Ring app so this is before I left. Right look at these sleep scores

91, 85, 88 It's reading the score is based on ...

HRV, heart rate or sleep you know activity movies etc. Already in this course

ninety-four percent eighty seven eighty eighty five. The reason I'm showing you

this is I was - I am healthy I don't stress the body too much

I sleep great. So this is designed to help the body when we

don't have perfect sleep we don't have bright light. When we are traveling.

I've realized that this actually is a good product - amazing product. Because it can

help you get the things that I'm getting here in a normal normal life. So in

Helsinki for instance, it was so dark right and then the Sun would come up

like hardly come up would be cloudy so it's not a very bright day. There's just

not much Sun around. So using this I could mimic the Sun without being

outside. In previous trips before I've had this

device even despite the bad sleep when I got to the destination I'd be exhausted,

but you'll go to bed and you just be like you know your mind was racing. I

just--can sleep. And so, it was funny because I went to bed tired or exhausted

thinking I really hope I get to sleep, and I did. Like my sleep latency time and

the Oura app was tiny was minuscule. What didn't happen though it was I didn't

stay asleep for an extended period. So I was waking about six hours later at

about 5 o'clock. Coming home I alerted my flight into TripIt. It was an app

I've seat up the other day. Before I left. Now it's really cool I should have done

it a few days before I left because what it does is it pulls all the data and

looks where you're going and the time-zones

differences. And then tell you when you should be using the app and everything.

Prior to going. And then it's just giving you these reminders like when to use the

the device. See those little sunlight graphs there. And then if you turn on

notifications I'd just pop up it's Humancharger time. The science behind it is

really solid, so I'm gonna do a blog article looking at some of that science.

While I was in Finland as well I spoke to some very smart people not related to

the Balki company or the Humancharger company and they were saying oh that's a

really good product like that the science behind is solid, like that a lot

of the locals use it. So that was kind of reassuring. Learning that was good my

personal experiences now - I've just share them with you. If you have any questions let me

know.

So I want to show you a few of things I brought back from Finland.

Some of these are health-related some of them are just things I've brought back. When I

had the sauna session with Tamer I had an organic bill green drink juice and it

was really good. I've got some dried ones and some powder. I bought back some

reindeer snack sticks, some local chocolate. I got gifted this I hope I can

say this right Kuksa cup. I hope I said that right. So this is a

traditional cup used in Finland. It's got a little bit of a reindeer bone - I think

it is - up top there. Thanks to the Oura guys, it's a very nice gift. I got some sweets

and candles for my mom, a can of reindeer meat. So I brought that back for

the family. We can we can share it Christmas Day. Definitely not

health-related but some vodka. I had that for dinner one

night when I was in Oulu. And they said these are cloud berries. So I never heard of

them before. Some gin - this is like

the best gin in the world. I'm not much of a gin drinker - but

figured I'd get a for our wedding day.

Got "Finland in a box" - which is for give this to my family .Giving it was the

a hundred years anniversary they had lots of uh lots a little goodies and wot not.

And this actually has some some neat stuff in there.

So that'd be a good little gift. And then this thing I got - that's my favorite

and this is definitely not help related. And I'llt probably gonna lose a few

vegetarian or vegan followers. It's my reindeer skin and I got it through

the customs. I was so happy it's so nice it's like so thick there. Yeah so I

love like hides and skins and stuff. So that was some of my treasures. If

you're watching this on youtube hit subscribe because I do a ton of reviews,

check my blog if you haven't - my #Authentic Alex blog - vlog and you can see

more about my life and you can even see I'm using this on a day to day life-

Follow me on Instagram @alexfergus_coach - I do a lot of little

stories, inside since my day as well and that's all.

So I just got a parcel from

Perfect Keto. So for those of you that don't know anything about ketosis - I've got two

articles on ketosis one of them's called: Everything you Need to know about

ketosis. And it's rather in-depth so check that out at alexfergus.com.

Yeah I mean personally I don't eat it ketogenic diet and I don't recommend

it on a long term point of view. I think it can do a lot of damage. But saying

that once a week I fast I do it 24-hour fast usually every Sunday. Not every

week but try bringing in now and there. On that day I will take some ketones.

So this is what I take this is just exhaustion is ketones peaches and cream

flavor better hydroxy butyrate. Ketones in there a little bit of

magnesium and calcium. So again I'm not into ketosis - I don't take this every day. I

just take it when I'm fasting is a bit of it energy pick me up. And in this this

is another perfect keto supplement this is the pre-workout supplement. I really

like this and this is something that I do take

not every day but every time I train. I think is a great performance aid so it

makes sense it's in there. But sometimes I train quite late in the day like six

seven o'clock at night. Which isn't great I mean I shouldn't be training that

late. So it does impact my sleep. So it is the green tea it is derived from

green tea the caffeine in here. So it's not a super potion and it is only fifty

milligrams which is probably about half a cup of coffee.

I'll only take this one training you know three or four o'clock but much

later than that I might take a half scoop I'll be quite careful with it. I'll

put some links and stuff in the notes below so you can check out all these and

do all that fun sort of stuff if you want to look into it.

Rebecca's gotta make the dinner with the zucchini noodles. She has already started.

And I'm gonna make my ginger beer.

Looks good huh. Zucchini noodles, pesto, the chicken, ginger beer, Rebecca's

organic wine, extra lemon and salt. Thank You Rebecca.

So today's Sunday I wanna clock today we're going to look at another property

up in. It looks like a pretty nice property in a nice house but it's a

little bit out of our budget so hard to get too excited about it. Anyway that's

us for the day.

So we just remembered the Sunday morning markets are on- I'm

gonna pump down here first.

This is upstairs looking at the property.

There's definitely lots of space. Lots of car space -t there's two double

garages on the main house and then you have this shed here which is huge. It'l be a

good spot for a gym. And then there's a little shed down here. Oh this would be those sheep sheep shead

Just got home from our little routing and of course it's beautiful day and the sun's

out here so so much for our swim. But regarding the property it's probably

probably not quite us. Rebbeca didn't like a few things about it and yeah the

price wasn't quite what we're after as well. So anyway we will continue our

search and continue waiting until we find the right one.

Alex here. So today

I'm going to do another quick workout. I'm gonna do another neuro mass workout.

Which we do time on detention, explosive and then isometric hold. I'm gonna do a

chest, back, leg and then maybe some hamstrings. That's it - it's literally

gonna be 20 minute workout and I'll just get into it.

Now for the fun part - the legs.

I'm definitely out of shape. It should be a lot of benefits just from that one session. Even

if you're trying I'm not trying to do a body builder. So I like to do these.

Let me know what you think of it. Give me a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.

We're finally getting some nice day there in New Zealand so I'm reading outside again.

This week's book is Built to Sell by John "I'm not gonna say the last name" Warrillow.

This is another business book. I mean I

really like it because it's not like it typical textbook or you're a how-to book.

It's actually written like a novel it's not full of facts and notes - it's a story

and of course people humans remember stories.

So 2018 is gonna be all

about simplifying my work, life, my businesses, getting rid of some projects

I have on the side, outsourcing, delegating and selling.

Selling businesses. It's just a good book for anyone who wants to get

into business because the story is something you'll remember for a long

time and they'll be a lot you'll take away from it. I highly recommend

that if you're in the business space and if anyone is interested in buying some

businesses make sure you reach out to me.

All right guys I just got here and heard

the doorbell ring and I got parcel if it's what I think it is. It's a bunch of

red lights! I've realized that you can actually make these or give them source

to yourself at a pretty reasonable price.

So we've got the device 2 4 6 8 10 12 lights. Gonna turn it on.

Three of them are um IR and then the remaining nine right. So the

reason I got this even I've got my full Joovv panel is that I can do other areas of

my body while I'm doing the Joovv panel. So now I can drop the panel down and

just do you know my body and my balls with the panel and then use this for one

side of my mouth the other side. Which is pretty cool huh.

And this was pretty cheap but I did have to buy ten of them.

I got a few plp old friends that wanted them, I'll use some as gifts because

we're coming into Christmas season and I'll use one as well. But you know what?

Here's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna give one of these away to anyone you know in

the world wherever you are. All you need to do is share this video,

this vlog either on YouTube or share the YouTube listing or the the link on my

site alexfergus.com. Share this on Facebook and use the hashtag #authenticalex

- all right the name my blog. Just share that I'll randomly pick one person

and I'll send you one of these lights and if you didn't have no idea what this

lies about what are those I'll include a link to the red light

article and the show resources for this week's episode. Go do that before the end

of the year I'll randomly pick a winner and I could be sending you one of these.

So today's a big day! So why is it a big day? It's a haircut day.

Today Star Wars come out.

Rebecca and I go out for a meal and then we'll go

back to the movie. So that's tonight! I'd love to know who's

got another buyer X slash now all those fans up here and just just comment in the

comment box if you are and we can like virtual high five each other.

Anyway I'm out to see Star Wars - by

Okay so every week I make sure they have some

liver - some couple of a cows liver, grassfed. And I also recommend it to my clients

on the hormone reset program. They have liver as well. Unfortunately I don't

really like the taste of liver. I've tried all sorts of tricks and um I just

really struggle with it. So what I do is I buy this powder. I'll put a link to it in

the show notes or YouTube notes. I'm gonna show you how I do it because it

makes getting your weekly liver hit so much easier.

Table spoon, I hope I've done this right.

And ad to it some water but only a little bit of water. The idea is you want to

make a paste you can add a flavor masker. All right so, yeah I've got hot cherry

which is quite bitter. I've also got this peppermint drops. SO I'll use this cherry here

yet which is good for sleep - melatonin. Steer and then if you're really

not a fan of it get another glass of water have that as a chaser.

That's it there's my liver hit for the week. Try it at home and let me know

how you get on.

Foodie Vlogmas 🎄 2017 Day 18 - Duration: 3:35.

I am just back from work it's been a really long day today but I do have

tomorrow off which is good, it's the first day off I've had for a month or so

I think and I'm really looking forward to it. So tonight Trevor is making the,

well he's he's preparing a salad to go with the prawn ring which is one of my

favourite festive treats. You can only seem to get them at this time of year.

We're gonna have a few drinks and wrap our Christmas presents and just relax.

So in the salad we're gonna have some lettuce, some avocado, tomatoes, a bit of

pepper, some carrot and I'm gonna use this fancy grater thing which I don't know

if you can see, if it can focus, it's got these little teeth on it so it actually

it slices it into ribbons, all in one go, it's pretty good and then we've got some

mozzarella as well which I will be putting in it. I might put some olive

oil on top.

Here's the finished salad and prawn ring which is still a little bit

frozen despite the fact that it's been out all day. That's prawn rings for you.

We're watching Hannibal and wrapping our Christmas presents. So we've just got

brown paper and then these are all the bits that I'm putting on to it which

include pieces that we've saved over the years of different crackers and then

they kind of hang them, hang off the presents like little tags.

We're just

having some cheese and crackers but Trevor picked these up from the cheese

shop. I'm not I can't remember the names of them, we've got this one which is a

brie which is the Barren Begoer. Okay this one blue, Pearl Lass. Pearl Lass

and this last one which is an Emmental Swiss Emmental. It looks really nice.

We ate all of the cheese and we got all of our presents wrapped but then we went to

bed so there wasn't a whole lot to share during this vlog. I filmed a few pieces

on my iPhone back at the start of November when we went to a samurai

exhibit at the Shrewsbury museum but I didn't share them then because the sound

quality on them isn't amazing but this video is subtitled. So if you click on

the CC closed caption button you can get the audio transcribed to go with these

clips and I thought I would stick them in now just to make this vlog a little

bit longer.

We're starting off our day with Starbucks we're trying the Christmas

drinks. Trevor's got the eggnog latte and I got the chocolate,

hot chocolate fudge with gold sprinkles and then we've also got a Christmas tree brownie

We've come now to the Shrewsbury museum. We're going to the medieval gallery, they've

got a samurai display on in here which were interested to see first we're going to have

a look at the history of Shrewsbury as well.

Trevor is practicing his calligraphy with a quill [laughter]

We're also trying to tie the bow, agemaki bow.

Trevor is trying on the samurai armour

It , it is an interactive exhibit

he isn't just putting them on

I don't know if I've got it on right.

okay? Yep [laughter]

A water gourd, mines not quite that good

but that looks looks pretty good.

Thanks for watching guys and we'll see

you tomorrow bye bye

Anne Kjaer Riechert: Tech for Peace - Duration: 7:15.

How do we get, say, 600,000 people to collaborate on solving a problem together?

It's incredibly complex.

That is where we need the technology to step in and create that kind of platform

that allows people to communicate and talk.

The great opportunity is, of course, we know exactly who is talking to whom at what time

and we can pull that data out.

And if we can analyze this in a way where we can really test what kind of collaboration

is leading to the best kind of end results that is really solving the challenge that

we set up in the beginning, we can start operating in a much smarter way in the way that we look at

social challenges like poverty, like the refugee crisis but also very local problems,

looking at how do we make more livible cities, how do we increase happiness in cities.

And this was really my route into technology.

I was allowed by Stanford to start the Peace Innovation Lab here and start bringing the

social innovation and social entrepreneurship community together with the tech and

the start-up scene here in order to build bridges again and to share knowledge, do workshops

on a monthly basis where we're looking at what kind of local challenges can we solve because

most people might think that Berlin is a very peaceful society.

But if you look at homelessness, if you look at challenges like obesiety, depression,

there's plenty of issues that we can tackle in order to make a happier society or a happier city

to live in, and this is what we wanted to tackle.

Facebook is a perfect exmaple of how you can build digital communities and how you can

bring people together across borders and break down borders because in an online world where

we draw, you know, national borderlines is not that evident.

I mean, there are still divides online, and we can certainly work on those but I think

it's wonderful to see people coming together because of shared interests,

and I think we can do that online.

But again it's the very early days of the internet.

I think we haven't even started to really see what this could become.

I think movements like Bitcoin are really challenging the way that our financial systems

are operating, it's tremendously interesting.

For me, what I'm really trying to work at is to see OK, the internet has so many opportunities

but at the moment it's only a selected few people who are part of that, and a lot of that

would be young, males who might be very privileged and sitting in the major cities

in Silicon Valley or in Europe.

And I think that we need to educate a lot more people I think.

Programming should certainly be part of the curriculum, like mathematics have been for a long time.

Because more people need to be part of that kind of conversation and need to influence

and understand how society online could be working.

And for me bringing more people into that conversation is important, so that is why

we started ReDI School is to help train and then help educate and make people understand

how they can get jobs or how they can be responsible citizens in an online environment.

So for me what I would love to see is that we're able to find a way that we can educate

especially people sitting insde, who are stuck in refugee camps, say, in Jordan, in Zaatari

to understand how they could be doing jobs online because right now they are stuck

but if they have internet access,

if we can help them have laptops, even you could be doing work just through your smartphone

as a way to take care of yourself, earn money and have jobs.

I think that would make a huge difference.

So we started officially with 42 students in February 2016.

Since then we had already 4 semesters which means that we now have around 250 students

who have been through the programme.

We currently have about 130 students who are studying with us across 10 different courses.

So the direct impact that we've had on lives and encouraging people to study and keep improving

themselves and training their skills, that is one part of it.

But we can also see when we ask our alumni: What are you doing now?

We can see that about 40 percent have either landed a paid job or paid internship.

30 percent are back at university studying, and the last 30 percent are continuing to

take courses with us improving their skills and improving their network.

So I think those numbers are really quite significant, and I think that is what we want

to see more often and not just in Berlin but we are looking at scaling right now in two

other German cities, starting with Munich, but also looking at how could we take the

ReDI school model and help in places like Jordan.

Could we imagine a ReDI school in Iraq helping the refugees there get jobs as well?

But my strategy all along has been "Nail it before you scale it",

so let's make sure that we know what we're doing.

Let's make sure that it's a high quality product.

When we know what the dynamics are, that it's also financially sustainable,

then it is the right time to scale.

And we're just there now which makes the future very exciting.

We have Heba and Hadir, two of our Egyptian female students, who came to us and were really

quite shy and started studying with us and then have now become mentors and are actually

teaching digital skills to elderly people, so Germans who are struggling to know how

to use their mobile phones.

So once a week they go and they work with all these like people in their 70s and 80s,

and you can just see how they have become so proud and so confident.

The last thing that they showed me was that they have created this like 70 page curriculum

to teach other women how to use the computers.

Because they realized that there is a lot of female refugees who have never,

they don't have an email account, they don't know how to use Word

and therefore don't know how to do online banking.

They don't know how to get an appointment with the doctor online.

And these two girls, sisters, have just decided this is just not good enough,

so they have created this curriculum, printed it out.

It's in 4 languages.

And we never asked them to do it.

They just saw the opportunity, they saw that there was a need and then they set out to do it.

And I think it's tremendous to see, and I really like this approach, and that's what we're

trying to install in all our students is "Pay it forward! Help others!"

And only that way we can really, you know, get to everyone.

Apple Cider Vinegar For Weight Loss! - Duration: 2:19.

what's up guys it's Matt from Macro Lean and in this video I'm going to be

talking about apple cider vinegar, is apple cider vinegar a good weight loss a

good fat loss supplement? Should you be using it in your approach to get leaner,

to lose body fat, to lose weight? Now if you do a quick Google search on the

Google's, on the inter-webs you will find tons of information about ACV( apple

cider vinegar) being something that you should take to lose weight to lose fat

everywhere. It is stated on blogs, stated on Facebook groups and has become a bit of a

trend, a bit of a fad & the bottom line is NO it's not! Apple cider vinegar has

some acute health benefits for sure! It's anti bacterial, natural probiotics, anti

microbial and all that good stuff, but it's not a magic bullet for losing

weight or losing body fat. Some of the experiments that have been done have

shown that it might make people feel fuller, more satiated, more satiety so

they'll eat less. But it's not incinerating body fat. You're not taking a

shot apple cider vinegar in the morning and you're shredding body fat, especially

if you're not addressing your nutrition, your calories and your macronutrients.

How do you get leaner? How do you lose body fat? How do you lose weight? You find out

the amount of calories you need to maintain your current composition. Then you go

into a sensible calorie deficit, you split that calorie deficit number into

proteins, fats and carbs.. Macronutrients and you be consistent with that.

Apple cider vinegar along with any other so-called magic pills, magic potions, magic

powders is not going to work. It sounds so easy, it sounds so enticing

right? Take a shot of this, take a pill of this, take a shake or whatever and

then you start burning fat??? NO! So ignore all the crap online about apple cider

vinegar being you a great weight loss, a great fat loss tool. There are

acute health benefits! I take it I use it! I put it on salads, I put in dressings

which is a kind of same thing isn't it? I'll take a shot here and there for the

natural probiotics that they have for my stomach. For my gut health... which sounds

very nice haha. But the bottom line is... It has some acute health benefits

but it does NOT make you automatically shed weight or shed body fat.

21st Day Of Christmas Build-Up - Snowplow (40253) - Duration: 0:50.

Hey everyone!

JAYSTEPHER with the 21st day

of Christmas Build-Up by Lego.

Set number 40253.

We have a red awesome Snowplow.

It does come with a flatbed in the rear.

It's a nice micro build.

It's not scaled for minifigures.

The Candles and the Lighthouse

are still accounted for.

Sadly the Owl and the Mug had to leave.

Thank you for watching!
