There are countless ways to roll up your pants.

One of these techniques in called the pinroll.

With a pinroll you can tighten your pant above your ankle...

to highlight the shoe you are wearing.

You always fold the pinroll inside

Why not on the outside? I'll explain that later in this video.

Step 1: Fold the pant on the inside from front to back.

This is how you tighten the pant.

It looks better, when you do it from front to back.

I do it with my thumb and two fingers

The cleaner you do this step, the cleaner will your pinroll look, when it's finished.

Step 2: Fold the pant once. Look at my fingers, it's a bit tricky to hold.

But if you hold it tight and stable it should work quite good.

I like pinrolls a bit more narrow. About 1 or 2cm.

Step 3: Fold it once more.

And here's the most important step: fold it a third time

If your pinrolls have loosened over the day

It was not because of your pants, it probably was because you didn't do this.

The third fold locks your pinroll.

Now you have to smooth it out and then you are finished.

Now I want to tell you, why you should fold the pinroll on the inside and not on the outside.

First because you can hide this little bump on the inside

Second is that you don't hide the Selvage seam, if your pant has one.

This seam not only looks good...

it's a sign of quality which you should not hide.

Good luck on folding your pants.

Thumbs up, if this video helped you...

39 Weeks Pregnancy Update ⎮ ASL Stew Update - Duration: 6:12.

Hello, I'm Jill.

This is ASL Stew Life!

(cat meow) ♪♪♪

39 weeks pregnancy update!

One week left until my due date,

but we'll see.

Today I'm 39 weeks and....

1 day cause it's Friday.

So almost time!

The baby is approximately 20 inches

and probably almost 9 pounds.

Because last time it was 8 pounds 8 ounces

and that was at 38 weeks... about.

So probably about 9 pounds now.

Oh my goodness!

I really hope I can get this baby out.

I had an OB appointment two days ago, Wednesday.

I decided to go ahead with the cervical check.

I know I said, "oh you don't need it..."

but I was curious if the baby has dropped.

So that's the only reason I got checked.

Honestly I don't care about dilation at all.

But I was just curious, so the doctor checked

and said I am about 1 to 2 centimeters dilated,

I'm 90% effaced, or thinned,

and she said that the head was low.

So, it's kind of what I felt.

That explains the reason I'm having so much pressure when I'm walking.

So makes sense.... thankfully!

The doctor said there's a lot of positives

so meaning hopefully even thought the baby is big

since it dropped, that it seems it's gonna fit.

So hopefully that's positive and that means I can have a vaginal birth.

Jenna and I decided we still don't want to set up an induction date.

We don't want to do that.

So we're just gonna wait and see.

If we get to our due date then we'll talk about what to do at that point.

That day I did have reduced movement though, like quite a bit.

So the doctor had us go to the hospital after the appointment for an NST.

So we went and the baby was fine.

They hooked me up and....

it was a little big strange because

usually instead of lying on my back, they had me lying on my side

which was different.

I don't know, maybe because I'm almost 39 weeks.... I don't know.

Anyways, they said everything was fine.

In like 5 minutes they could figure that out,

but they keep me on for 20 minutes.

Then the doctor, my doctor, had recommended a fluid check.

So they checked that... everything was fine.

Uhh, no problems there.

The doctor at the hospital was funny... when doing the fluid check.

They have to do it with a doctor,

but she was a resident

and I don't know if she didn't realize I wasn't Deaf or...

she was just talking really, really loud

which was funny to be honest.

But anyways, everything was fine.

She was jabbing really hard. It hurt so bad!

But yesterday and a little bit this morning I've had better movement

so hopefully it's all good.

Most of the symptoms are still the same.

I'm still having the vaginal pressure when I'm walking, that hurts.

Last night I had a little bit of lightning pains when I was cooking dinner.

Once I was done with that, I sat for a really long time

and it went away. I was fine last night and this morning.

So that's about it!

Recently at my check they said I hadn't gained any weight.

So I don't know, I fluctuate.

Two weeks ago I had gained like 4 pounds, and now zero.

So I have no idea.

My scale at home doesn't work right now

so I don't know what my actual weight in total is.

But I think I've gained around like 40 pounds or something.

Whatever!

Other than that, there's not much going on... uhh since last week.

Mostly just today, as of filming this on Friday,

it's my last day of work... hopefully.

Uhh, meaning I have holiday break

unless I'm still pregnant by January 2nd,

then I don't know.

I guess if I'm still pregnant, I guess I would go back to work.

But we'll see.

If I have the baby before that, then I should be off for a while.

My co-workers are constantly asking me, when are you due?, when are you due?.

Other than that, my mom and my mother-in-law

often... "how are you feeling?", "what's going on?", blah, blah, blah.

You know, checking on me,

not everyday but pretty often.

So I guess that's short, but that's about it.

If the baby's not here by 40 weeks,

then I'll have my next pregnancy video.

If not, then I guess I'm done!

So time for a maybe last belly shot?

We'll see.

Taxed And Confused | The Rundown With Robin Thede - Duration: 4:43.

Now let's get to "The Rundown."

The tax bill that Republicans passed this week

was more confusing than Janet and Jermaine getting back together.

President Trump is celebrating the single biggest

legislative victory of his first year in office.

The GOP tax plan passing the House and Senate Wednesday.

The American public has to be pretty confused.

They've got one side saying that this is going to be a huge gift,

and the other side saying it's a disaster.

This bill is like your coworker's casserole.

Nobody knows what's in it, and nobody asked for it!

(laughter)

Now, it's okay to be this reckless with your life,

but Republicans are out here

gambling with the lives of millions.

And they forced a vote faster than my mom popped me

for answering "Robyn!" with "What?!"

They want us to vote on this thing in about an hour.

An hour.

I spent more than an hour

making a decision about the refrigerator

that we recently bought.

Oh, you fancy, Elizabeth, with your new refrigerator?

What are you, a king?

Lord knows, after this tax bill,

the only fridge we'll be able to afford

is a block of ice in a shoebox.

Especially if we have brilliant economists

like Trump's daughter-wife on the job.

The rest of the world realized that cutting taxes

enabled them to be competitive.

And their rates dropped dramatically below ours.

If you think about it, small businesses

will have the lowest taxes since 1931.

1931?

You must be referring to the golden age

when children died of polio, and also the Great Depression!

(laughter and applause)

But we... (chuckles)

But we cannot go back to the days

when Morgan Freeman was just Morgan Freeboy.

(laughter)

We can't do that.

And because the Republicans

have made this intentionally confusing,

everyone's understanding of this bill is about as secure

as the gavel Paul Ryan hammered it home with!

(laughter and groaning)

But here's what we do know.

Remember the Devil, right? All right.

Well, today's Republicans are just rebranding

his infamous trickle-down economics plan.

It reduces the corporate rate

from 35% all the way down to 20%.

Businesses are going to do just what we say:

reinvest in their workers,

reinvest in their factories,

pay people more money, higher wages.

I mean, higher wages sound great,

but hearing that private businesses

"will do just what we say" from a liar like Paul Ryan

is as reassuring as Steve Harvey saying,

"Hey, that's a nice suit."

(laughter and groaning)

Plus... plus...

CEOs are clicking "not interested"

on the Facebook invite to share the wealth.

I'm looking at a list of CEOs who said,

"We don't plan to reinvest."

What they're planning to do is to do stock buybacks,

to line the pockets of shareholders.

(woman) "The Wall Street Journal" asked a group of them

if they'd pump more money into their businesses

in front of Trump's very own economic adviser...

(man) If the tax reform bill goes through,

do you plan to increase

your company's investment, capital investment?

Just a show of hands.

If the tax reform goes through.

Well, damn! Don't everybody jump at once.

That crowd was like Waka Flocka: No Hands.

But super-rich corporations aren't the only ones

getting taken care of.

Super-rich people are finally catching a break, too.

The top five percent of income earners

in this country

are going to receive over 60% of the benefits

of this bill in 10 years' time.

And, in fact, next year are gonna receive double

the share of benefits from this bill

as working class families.

Dang! The middle class is about to be

like a fake friend when you get into a fight,

'cause it's about to disappear.

And for their next trick,

Republicans are making Obamacare vanish.

This is not just about taxes.

Republican Congress is doing something

it has failed to achieve for the last seven years:

gutting Obamacare.

These sneaky bastards!

Americans preferred Obamacare by a two-to-one margin,

but Republicans just slid in their de facto healthcare repeal

like A.S.A.P. Rocky in his favorite pair of slippers.

I mean, are those the only pair of shoes he has?

Unfortunately, many Americans

might only also be down to a pair of shoes

after losing their healthcare.

(man) A recent Congressional Budget Office report

found that the number of people with health insurance

would decrease by 4 million in 2019

and 13 million over the next decade.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell commented on the impact, saying:

And he's not kidding.

Here's how they wrote the bill behind closed doors.

(man screaming)

Now, on the football field,

New York Times readers on Sunday were treated to a column by conservative Ross Douthat a

State.

In the column, A War Trump Won, Douthat writes:

[I]f you had told me in late 2016 that almost a year into the Trump era the caliphate would

be all-but-beaten without something far worse happening in the Middle East, I would have

been surprised and gratified.

So very provisionally, credit belongs where its due to our soldiers and diplomats,

yes, but to our president as well.

Douthat also grills the press for not mentioning the success due to it contradicting the narrative

of Trumpian disaster. He notes that many on both the left and the Never Trump

right have feared Trumps foreign policy more than anything, and yet it has wrought

success so far.

Do Citizens Have a Right to Film Police Officers? [POLICYbrief] - Duration: 2:39.

Recording police officers really came to the forefront in the early '90s with the Rodney

King incident.

And I think since then you've seen, uh, a lot more, uh, public discussion on, on the

rights of people to film law enforcement.

It's about transparency.

It's about understanding what our, uh, public officials are doing.

Especially public officials who carry with them the ability to use force, including deadly

force, to execute and enforce the law.

The right of a person to film law enforcement has become less controversial as it has become

more understood.

And I think the ubiquity of video cameras in society today, where literally everything

is filmed and thrown onto Facebook Live, has sort of illuminated this reality.

There's been five or six different circuit courts of appeal decisions affecting more

than 60% of the US population that have affirmed the right of individuals to film law enforcement

in public while law enforcement officers are engaged in their official capacity as police

officers.

Most officers today understand that the public has a right to film police officers when they

are engaged in their official capacity as an officer and they're in public.

If you're lawfully recording the police officer in a public place and he or she tells you

to stop recording, again, you're under no legal obligation to stop.

The big source of contention seems to come is when people take that right and they infringe

upon the officer's ability to, uh, safely execute their job.

It's important to understand when a police officer tells you to, to move back or to get

across the street, it's not necessarily because they're trying to stop you from recording them,

It's because you're compromising their officer safety or you're inhibiting their ability

to perform their duty.

When you cross that line, then while the act of filming may not in and of itself be illegal,

you're engaging in other illegal, uh, activity which could lead to your arrest.

It's hard to provide concrete guidelines to the public because everything's contextual.

Every situation is different.

So then it's always best to heed to the, uh, to the warnings of the officer.

I think the goal of cameras, body-worn cameras, dash cams, or what have you, is not just to

protect the citizenry, but it's also to protect law enforcement.

Law enforcement officers who adopt body-worn cameras soon realize that those cameras are

a lot more helpful to them than they are a hindrance.

It's a good thing that law enforcement understands that that transparency exists.

It's good for the officers, it's good for the public.

MTB carpark Challenges |SickSeries #37 - Duration: 13:00.

Cheers guy´s, it´s us again, Sick Series

last episode before christmas

and we prepaired something with cans of Red Bull

we will do a little game on our Mountainbikes here on the flat

and we have another special guest

ladies and gentlemen, say hello to:

Trail-Bike-Worldcampion Tom Öhler

Cheers Tom

happy to have Tom with us

the ultimative technic pro

we prepaired some challenges with the cans which you can also try at home

I would say let´s go

first challenge, slalom

your frontwheel have to go around the cans

until there

turn around

Elias shows it perfectly haha have a look if he is able to do it the same way on his bike

right, and the whole parcour brakeless

Elias will start, and we are not allowed to jump with the backwheel

so brakeless and without jumping

so Fabio, you´re next

now the big turn-around

pretty difficult without brakes

where did you go inside the parcour again?

yeah, right here

ohh, sick

for sure

pretty sensitive

both will get a point, me not

so guy´s, second challenge

so we will play soccer on our bikes. A penalty

our goal

there is the penalty point

goalkeeper

goalkeeper is also inside the goal

you have to kick the can with your frontwheel into the goal

each of us has 3 tries, the guy who scores most will win

that the rules are clear, we have to measure the 11 meters

1-2-11

ok, there are the 11 meters

Martin measured it for us

goalkeeper, are you ready?

yes, I´m ready

first penalty, let´s go

you touched the ground with your feet

you´re allowed to shoot

the referee whistle

11 meters are pretty long

oje, goalpost

goalpost yes

second penalty

so bad haha

wasn´t that bad, but the grass stopped the ball haha

I think I´ve to try another tactic

you can´t do it

goalpost haha

that´s a goal

that´s a goal

I don´t wanted to shoot too faar

don´t really know what the goalkeeper did

the goalkeeper should have hold it

so 1:0, let´s go on

good, but not good enough

the goalkeeper is unpredictable

he can jump anywhere

it´s gonna be exciting

now it´s gonna be exciting

the last, most important penalty

95. minute

so Tom has 2 points, me 1 and I don´t have a point for Elias today

thanks

next Challenge, stoppie Challenge

a precision stoppie

ride throught the two cans into the stoppie

ride until there

you have to touch the can´s, but they aren´t allowed to fall

so, just touch it

and the backwheel has to be in the air while touching the can

but this one was close

joooou

this one was perfect haha

way to short ahah

standing is 2:2:0

next challenge: switchback

switchback over the cans, until we have a winner who manage to come over the highest stock of cans

rule: your backwheel axle have to be over the cans

this one was good

so, next step

Elias on the next step

this one was close

felt also close haha

this one was close haha

are you serious?

now I´m excited

over?

yes

sick!

pretty close right?

over right?

yeah, done

so now it´s gonna be exciting

it can work theoretical

let´s go, now I´m excited

perfect

yes

I would say we will take that

Tom and I made it and think that we can´t do it higher, because one can is pretty high

so for each of us one point

so 3:3:0

so now, ultimative last challenge, who us us will be the...

for this challenge you have to drift inbetween this cans

you aren´t allowed to upset a can or to ride over the line

Elias, your turn

now it´s gonna be tighter

this one was pretty pretty close

but I think it was inside

tighter and thighter

perfect!

perfect with the handbrake

nearly falled over right?

closer steps

perfect, let´s go

are you serious?

he is going to be serious

sh*t, can´t be

pretty close

pretty close

nooo, my mistake

sick!

I´m out, but I still hope for a drawn

Elias, you have to win

If Elias will win, we both are drawn

this two will go on with a pretty close distance to drift in

let´s go

what a declaration of war

are you serious???

you are the drift king!

win or drawn

can he do it? yes or no?

so Elias get his point

so Tom and I are drawn with 3 points

I would say we need a winner and...

Schnig Schnag Schnug

we will decide the whole game with schnig schnag schnug, ok

only 1 Game

Have fun, Schnig Schnag Schnug, Tom against Fabio

the fair winner

Tom Öhler wins against me in Schnig Schnag Schnug

sick game, was pretty funny

guy´s you can try it at home, pretty funny

try it at home, however

in this case thanks Tom, don´t forget to follow him on instagram

will be shown somewhere there

over there

no idea where haha

thanks for watching, merry christmas and a happy new year

see you the next time

cheers

Beyond Today -- Help Your Kids Keep the Faith - Duration: 28:27.

[Gary Petty] How can Christian families raise God-centered, biblically moral children in

an increasingly secular society?

The issues facing Christian children in public schools are daunting.

In the classroom, they may be taught that evolution is indisputable science and creationism,

well—superstition.

More and more they face transgender issues in the locker room, sex education classes

that are blatantly anti-biblical and an educational system that is at times promotes multiculturalism

while downplaying, or even oppressing, Christian values.

These issues are driving many Christian families to home-school or enroll their children in

private schools.

The long-term effects of this migration of Christians from the public school system is

an ever-widening divide in society—one segment promoting the values of secular humanism and

the other biblically-based values.

Now if you are concerned about your child's or grandchild's education, then today's

program is important for you.

Join us on Beyond Today as we discuss "Help Your Children Keep the Faith."

Has it ever been so difficult to help children navigate the educational years?

Studies show that anxiety among children is higher than previous generations and many

parents are concerned about teenage suicide, sexual experimentation happening at an earlier

age, bullying and drug and alcohol abuse among children.

And it's not just what children may experience at school.

At a very early age, children are exposed to a mind-blowing array of technology and

media.

Overexposure to video games can hinder a child's ability to concentrate on tasks that aren't

as visually stimulating.

Pre-teens in some television sitcoms are shown as sexually precocious, smarter than parents

and morally accepting all alternative lifestyles.

Take time to watch the commercials during these programs.

It is obvious that the fashion and cosmetic industries target young children to dress,

wear make-up and act like older teens.

It's a lucrative business built on manipulating the values of children.

Children are being pushed into facing different stages of life that they are not physically,

mentally, emotionally or spiritually equipped to handle.

How can Christian families deal with these issues in the lives of their children?

One vital key is education.

It is important for your child to learn mathematics, history, biology, economics.

But, the most important elements, the very foundation of your child's education, is

based on whether they learn to build their lives on secular humanism principles or biblical

principles.

Now there is one indispensable element to helping your children develop biblically based,

God-centered values.

That element is you, the parent.

Many parents realize that they just can't turn their children over to an educational

system that increasingly opposes their biblical values, but they struggle with how to counteract

what their children are learning outside the home.

Church attendance, Bible lessons designed for children, Christian summer camp, friends

who are Christians are all important in your child's development.

But nothing is more important in their lives than your involvement in their biblical education.

If this is a concern that you have in your family, then you probably know of others who

have the same concerns.

So I encourage you to share this program—posted online at Beyond Today.tv—with other parents

who are struggling with how to teach their children biblical values in a secular society.

So where do we start in discussing the role of parents in Christian education?

One of the primary biblical passages about children's education is found in the instructions

God gave to ancient Israel.

In Deuteronomy 6 God said, "And these words which I command you today shall be in your

heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your

house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your

eyes" (Deuteronomy 6:6-8).

The spiritual education of children isn't just a classroom exercise.

It is experienced in daily living.

Parents are to be involved in teaching their children about God while sitting in the house,

walking and traveling, before they go to sleep and when they wake up.

If we think of education as only lecturing, then we're missing the point of the biblical

passage we just read.

Parenting is more than lecturing.

The Deuteronomy 6 model of education is to immerse the child in a family culture where

biblical principles are not just taught, but exhibited by the parents.

Now what this means is that if we, as parents and grandparents, exhibit a half-hearted,

biblically shallow, hypocritical Christianity then that's exactly what we will be teaching

our children.

Okay, let's make one thing clear—no parent is perfect, so don't put that weight on

you.

But, even that is part of the Christian message—forgiveness from God through Jesus Christ and spiritual

change and growth can be taught through the example of the parents.

You're not the only influence in your child's life, but never underestimate the bond of

love that can form between a parent and a child and the impact your example has on them.

The Deuteronomy 6 method of education isn't just the responsibility of the mother either.

Dad is also to exhibit Christian behavior and be actively involved in teaching.

The apostle Paul wrote this to the early church, "…fathers, do not provoke your children

to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4).

Both parents must be involved in the religious teaching of children.

Now I realize that some of you are trying to raise children as a single parent.

Being a single parent creates its own set of tough challenges.

As a single parent, you can still properly guide and teach your children, but in some

ways you carry a heavier load than a two parent family.

So it's important that you as a single parent find a support group to help you in teaching

your children the biblical way.

Now at this point we need to discuss an important mistake many well-meaning Christians make

in their family lives.

The mistake is making their children the center of the family.

They see the goal of parenting is to meet all of their child's desires, protect her

from disappointment and failure and to foster self-esteem.

The problem is this is a sure-fire way to help your child become selfish.

Let's illustrate this.

If we were to draw a series of circles representing your family, who would you place in the center?

Your child?

Maybe you as parents?

Some would say schooling and education.

In these models, how do your children learn about God?

I mean let's face it.

If I am the center of my universe, then I will expect everything to revolve around me.

If God is the center of your family, then children will learn that God is to be the

center of their lives.

Your personal relationship with God, your faith, your obedience, your struggles with

trying to live a life based in the Bible is the basis for teaching your children.

Your child needs to see you study the Bible, pray, strive to live by the moral standards

taught by Jesus Christ, seek God's forgiveness and guidance and be involved in weekly church

services.

If God is the center of your family what comes next?

The second priority in your family needs to be the relationship between Mom and Dad.

An important contributor to healthy emotional child development is the security they feel

because Mom and Dad are together.

This means that one of the most important gifts that parents can give their child is

a good marriage.

Putting time and energy into creating a happy marriage will go a long way in producing a

happy, emotionally healthy child.

Your child is this third circle, with God as the center and the relationship between

Mom and Dad as the second circle.

It is your relationship with God and the relationship between Mom and Dad that lays the foundation

of child development in the home.

Now once again I know, if you are a single parent, this doesn't mean you can't be effective

in raising emotionally healthy and spiritually dedicated children.

It does mean that you will face some very special challenges.

Think about this.

It is not your job to be your child's best friend by relating to them as if you were

a child yourself.

It is your job to love, take care of, and teach your child.

Remember what the apostle Paul wrote to parents, that they were to "bring up" children…raising

them into adulthood, "in the training and admonition" or "instruction" in the

Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

At times, children may resist being "brought up...in the Lord" because they are children.

They are childish.

There are going to be some conflicts in teaching children.

When faced with those conflicts, just remember that the purpose of parenthood is to raise

mature, responsible adults.

And it's not always an easy road.

Many years ago, I heard a person ask my Dad what was the secret to child rearing.

His answer was, "You spend 20 years preparing them to leave you."

My Dad was a wise man.

We don't want our children to stay children.

As parents, our goal is to prepare them to walk their own walk with God, to teach them

to become emotionally and mentally healthy adults, and yes, to guide them in their education

and success in both their vocations and as contributing members of society.

Another mistake some parents make is waiting until a child "can make up his own mind"

before teaching them religious values.

The school system doesn't play by those rules.

Television and the internet don't play by those rules.

Religious and spiritual training begins at the earliest stages.

The apostle Paul wrote to a young minister named Timothy, "But you must continue in

the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned

them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make

you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:14-15).

Timothy's father was a pagan.

So Timothy's religious teaching came from his mother and grandmother.

They taught him the Scriptures from an early age and that early training guided him as

an adult.

My wife and I have reached the stage of life where our three children are grown.

We now enjoy a deep friendship with them as adults.

We also have the wonderful experience of supporting them as they navigate the joys and tribulations

of parenthood.

We have learned that we can't live our children's lives for them.

Each one has to choose their own path.

But, as parents, and now as grandparents, we recognize our God ordained responsibility

to love them and teach them about God's love and His plan for their lives.

Now this is the basis of biblical parenthood.

There have been numerous studies over the past decades on why many young people leave

their churches in their late teens or early twenties.

Some of the same reasons show up in all of the studies.

It is important for parents to understand these issues in order to properly prepare

children as they face the difficulties of trying to live a Christian life in a secular

society.

Well let's summarize what we've talked about.

1.

Nothing is more important in your children's lives than your involvement in their biblical

education.

2.

You need to model your relationship with God as an example to your children.

3.

Parental religious and spiritual training begins at the earliest ages.

We're now joined by Gary Antion, a licensed marriage and family counselor with many decades

of experience as a counselor and pastor.

Gary, thanks for being here with us.

[Gary Antion] Well I'm happy to be here, Gary and to contribute to this very important

topic.

[Gary] You know, a lot of people worry about their children leaving the faith.

And it is amazing how many young people, in their teens or in their twenties, leave the

faith.

And there's been a lot of research into that and Barna has done, of course, a lot

of research.

And I was looking at one of their latest reports.

Here's the number two reason why children leave the faith in their twenties and in their

teens.

It's because they find Christianity to be shallow.

And here's what some of the things they said: 31% said church is boring.

Well that's not a parental issue there.

But one quarter of these young adults said faith is not relevant to their career or interests.

Or that the Bible is not taught clearly enough—that was 23%.

And a full 20% said, God seems missing from my experience of church, and I guess you could

say probably a lot feel my experience at home.

So what do parents do to deal with this?

[Gary Antion] Well first of all, children are a blessing from God.

They are given to the family, to the parents, so that they can train those children and

bring them up in the nurture of God as you said in the first segment.

You brought out about how important it is for family to be together.

For family to be relating to one another.

And the modeling of parents, you cannot and in any way, quantify because they are such

important issues.

Parents need to know their Bibles.

Parents need to study their Bibles.

Parents need to be leading in the way and not be afraid or ashamed to talk about issues

that come up and to be able to talk to their children openly about these issues.

And certainly to not put them down for having questions, but to be willing to accept those

questions and to admit when they themselves have had wrong perspectives.

[Gary] I think it's so important too, this relevancy issue.

That we be able to make them understand, help them understand that God is the center of

their lives and is relevant to everything that they do, their fun, their seriousness,

whatever in life—God is center to that.

[Gary Antion] Right.

Because if parents are living the way they understand as godly, they're modeling that

for their children and it begins from youth.

It's very difficult to bend a teenager when you start out with a teenager, not impossible,

but very difficult.

But when you are able to work with them from the time they're little, and they come to

respect you and you come to respect them, and you treat them and take care of them,

they come to look upon you in an honorable and respectful way.

Therefore, it's easy to train them and teach them to respect God in an honorable and respectable

way.

[Gary] You talked about teenagers.

Before the program, we were talking about how difficult it is sometimes for teenagers

who have never been exposed to the Bible—now suddenly their families taking them there

and how difficult that is, but you made a very good point.

You said that they have to understand—parents have to understand where their children are.

[Gary Antion] They do.

Understanding is one of the greatest gifts we can give to anybody and particularly our

children.

Understanding where they are and the various stages of life.

Understanding a teenagers' desire to try to spread his wings, to try to become his

own person, to become an adult himself.

And sometimes that brings in challenges to parents, and it's a very difficult time.

Parents need to quote "fight" unquote for their children because of all the pressures

coming from peer pressure, coming from the teachings at school, coming from sciences

and so-called, sometimes not true.

But coming from various ones, at them, they need to have some help from the parents.

There are two sides to this story you know.

You say about faith, it takes faith to believe in this, but it also takes faith to believe

in some of the evolutionary thoughts.

[Gary] Because young people don't want—okay they come with a question about evolution,

they don't want, "well let's go to Genesis."

They want a discussion with science.

And it's interesting, I unjust read something the other day, it's a myth that almost all

scientists don't believe in God.

52% of scientists say they believe in a god or a higher power.

They know that there is some kind of order to this.

That there is a creator to this.

And there's a lot of good scientific discussion out there showing creation instead of evolution.

And I think, parents seem to education themselves on that.

[Gary Antion] Where do all these things come from?

Where does harmony come from?

Where does design come from?

Who sustains this all the time?

Why do we "drop" things?

Why don't we say we "up" things?

Because of the law of gravity which we can't see, but we see the effects of it.

So how did that get there?

So, parents need to study themselves, so they can have some answers.

[Gary] Would you say then that dealing with a teenager, before they can teach them about

God, they have to have a relationship with the teenager?

So, they have to do that first before they can bring their child to God.

[Gary Antion] Exactly.

Parents who love their children, care for their children, spend time with their children,

whether it's in godly activities, whether it's in church activities, whether it's

in various social events, or whether it's just family time together, can take the defensiveness

out of the situation, and everybody can sit and talk openly.

Children appreciate it when parents spend time with them.

[Gary] Now a third reason that many young people say they leave the church is that what

they see as an exclusive nature to Christianity.

And here's some of the responses they gave to Barna: 3 out of 10 Christians, 29%, said

churches are glossing over real differences and afraid of other faiths.

In other words, they only teach Christianity and they are against all other faiths.

Others said that the church was like a country club.

Of course, they live in an environment where they are taught everyone is included, everything's

inclusive.

So how do we deal with the fact that Christianity is exclusive?

I mean, we say that Jesus is the only way to salvation, so how do we teach them to deal

with that?

[Gary Antion] Well first of all, Christianity today is to be teaching people to be an example

to others, how to model the way that God has called.

The happiness and joy that others would see in a nation and a people who followed and

lived the ways of God.

The idea has never been to be exclusive.

It's to be starting out with God calling people, and then bringing everybody in.

But not forcing them, because it always has to be an option.

[Gary] But that's a fascinating concept.

To get children, especially teenagers to understand that God is in their lives, God is working

through them, not because they can be exclusive and push everybody else away, but it's the

opposite.

They are to exhibit Jesus Christ to everyone else.

They're actually opening up to bring other people to God.

So, it's not exclusive, it is very inclusive but it's based on truth.

[Gary Antion] The teaching of God are definitely inclusive.

You think of the example of the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Where the question was asked by the Pharisee, who is my neighbor?

And who was his neighbor?

Whoever was in need of help and whoever was closest by.

It wasn't a matter there of your same race, your name nationality.

It was those who were close by.

Loving your neighbor as yourself is certainly not about loving yourself only, that would

be exclusive.

Inclusive is loving your neighbor as yourself.

[Gary] And I think where a lot of people who have trouble too, is the idea of is sin.

Well God doesn't judge anything, but the truth is, God determines what works and what

doesn't work and He forbids us to do certain things because it produces something terrible

in our lives.

And they have a hard time with that.

[Gary Antion] God is a god of love.

Everything God does, He does out of love for us.

If you break something, it's going to break you.

If you fall, if you go against the law of gravity, what happens to you?

Chances are you are going to skin your knee or at worst, break something.

So why does that happen?

Because laws have been broken and violated.

It's not that sin is something that cannot be gotten rid of.

Sin can be repented of.

God never said He made us perfect—or wants us to be perfect in character, He made us

perfect physically, but not perfect in character.

So character is something that has to be developed and something has to be developed with godliness.

[Gary] See what you just said is real important, this idea that God condemns sin, but He wants

to forgive and change.

God actually wants to bring people towards Him so that these behaviors that He says are

destructive are removed.

Look at the world we live in.

It's a mess.

Children have to know, the reason this is a mess is because we have turned our back,

humanity has turned its back on God.

[Gary Antion] When parents are teaching children, they're teaching them in a way that's

relevant to what's going on in the world.

They are relating the teaching and the instruction and even their examples to what's happening.

And parents should not be afraid to talk about godliness.

Should not be afraid to talk about to their children, pray for me when I am going on this

business trip.

They should not be afraid to do that.

You're including them.

You are saying, hey let's sit down.

You're making Bible study with them interesting and fun.

You're helping them to learn biblical principles that will last them a lifetime.

[Gary] I like the word fun.

The Bible is supposed to be fun.

There' entertainment.

There's fun.

There's lessons.

There's seriousness.

It's all of life is in that Book.

[Gary Antion] It is.

Gary You know I appreciate you being here.

We have to have you back here again soon.

[Gary Antion] Thank you.

Parents have a God ordained responsibility to teach their children.

You can't give that responsibility over to the school system, their peers, the overwhelming

influences of media and technology, or even to your church youth program.

This means that you as parents must have a personal relationship with God, give of your

time and energy to your children, and you must have a thorough understanding of the

Bible.

A few unbiblical religious traditions, a few words about Jesus, and a lifestyle that compromises

with secular society will influence your children to reject true Christianity as irrelevant

and hypocritical.

Your children are a gift from God.

Your responsibility as parents is ordained by God.

It is never too late to prayerfully begin the Deuteronomy 6 model of immersing your

child into a truly biblically based, God-centered home.

What Is Life Like In The Smallest Country In The World? - Duration: 6:50.

We all should know that the largest country in the world is Russia, followed by Canada,

the United States, and China – although some sources state that China is slightly

larger than the U.S.

In terms of population, China comes top, followed by India, the United States, Indonesia, and

Brazil.

India is expected to take the number one spot from China by 2022 according to the UN, while

Nigeria is set to catch up to the USA or even exceed it in terms of population by 2050.

A UN report tells us Nigeria is the fastest growing population worldwide, and one of the

reasons the world's population will be 8.6 billion by 2030; 9.8 billion by 2050 and 11.2

billion by 2100.

But today it's all about the little guys, in this episode of the Infographics Show,

Smallest country in the world.

Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell button so that you can be part of our

Notification Squad.

We'll start with smallest by land mass, and that is Vatican City.

Sharing a 2-mile (3.2km) border with Italy, it is a country located within the city of

Rome.

It has a land mass of 0.44 km2 (0.17 sq. miles), or measures about 109 acres.

Worldometers puts the live population of this country at 795.

In order to put this into perspective, Vatican City is about one-eighth the size of New York's

Central Park.

You can literally run around the entire country in about 30 minutes, though the lack of sidewalks

will make it not so much fun.

So, how did this little place become a country?

The area is home to historic sites such as St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel,

and so it was designated the headquarters of the Catholic Church.

It became a nation after the signing of the Lateran Pacts in 1929.

But why bother making this small area an independent state?

It's a very long story, but the gist of it is that the Papal States which covered

much of modern day Italy was coveted by the then neighboring Kingdom of Italy.

So, the Italians conquered the Papal States during the mid-19th century and the Pope retreated

to the Vatican – this was a base built around a hill where St. Peter's Basilica stood.

The Pope stayed put, and was not keen on the idea of being a prisoner in a Kingdom which

he believed didn't exist.

To cut a long story short, Prime Minister Benito Mussolini came in and made some moves

to make everyone happy.

He gave the Holy See its sovereignty, as well as lots of money.

The Holy See, or Holy Chair, is the universal government of the Catholic Church.

The Pope for his part acknowledged the Kingdom of Italy, promised to stay out of politics,

and a deal was signed.

That's why we have today's smallest country in the world.

But does it actually function like a country?

Kind of, yes.

It is governed by an absolute monarchy, with the Head of State being the Pope.

He has full legislative, executive and judicial powers, and if he should die and there's

some downtime, then the College of Cardinals wields those powers.

It has its own courts that act under the authority of the Pope.

It has its own police force, known as the Gendarmerie Corps of Vatican City State.

They look like regular cops and often carry Glock 17 semi-automatic pistols.

If you read about the biggest cases they were involved in lately, the main one was the arrest

of one of Pope Francis' key advisers whose apartment was said to be used for illegal

drug use and orgies.

The country also has had the Swiss Guard since 1506, but this department is solely responsible

for keeping the Pope safe.

All Swiss Guard members are Swiss 19-30 year olds who must be at least 5 ft 9 (179.8cm).

They must also be Catholic, unmarried men, that have done some training with the Swiss

Army.

Vatican City does not have a military force, but is protected by Italy.

What do people do for a living?

Not surprisingly, just about everyone from the Pope down works in some capacity for the

Catholic Church.

Everyone is of Italian ethnicity (Vatican citizenship) except for those Swiss Guard

we just mentioned.

This could be one of the many cardinals that work in the country, or working in some kind

of administrative position.

An amusing story we found was the job of the person or people responsible for overlooking

the Pope's tweets.

This went to a group called the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.

According to Slate, positions such as this are not posted on job sites but people will

be found via word of mouth.

You can be a lay person and fill a position, but many of the lay people that work in Vatican

City don't actually live in the country.

While its population might be only 795, CIA Factbook puts its 2016 labor force at 4,822.

It functions like a country in other ways, too, such as minting its own euros, printing

its own stamps, and also issuing passports and license plates.

It has a flag, a national anthem, and even has its own media outlets.

It does not tax its citizens, however, and for money relies on things like admission

fees for places of interest, and souvenir sales.

Vatican City has small industries such as printing services, production of coins, worldwide

banking and financial activities, and the production of mosaics.

The Holy See also has properties and land all over the world.

Vatican City heavily relies on contributions, and those are substantial.

It's actually seen as a very wealthy place in the world.

According to media reports in 2014, it was so wealthy hundreds of millions of euros were

discovered in sectional accounts that were not on the country's balance sheet.

How do you get to live in this rich country?

Well, as it doesn't have birthright citizenship, the only way in is if you are chosen.

Even then it might be for a short stint, which can be renewable.

There are no schools here, but religious training is given in parts of Rome.

So, since you can't work or study, you're just going to have to settle with being a

tourist.

You'd probably have a better chance of finding a job in the world's smallest country in

terms of population.

This goes to the Pitcairn Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean.

It's estimated that the population there is around 50-plus people.

These folks have an interesting story, with most of them being ancestors of British HMS

Bounty mutineers that made the island their home in 1789.

They also settled their with Polynesian tribe members.

The 50-odd citizens speak English or Pitcairnese, live under a government, for the most part

are Protestant Seventh-day Adventists, and they spend the New Zealand dollar.

It's a beautiful place, but when in 2015 the island sent message to the British press

that they needed people to emigrate there and that land was totally free, they got only

one interested reply according to The Telegraph.

New Zealand is 3,000 miles away.

There is only one general store that opens three times a week, and you must order food

three months in advance if you want supplies from New Zealand.

You might be stranded in the middle of nowhere, but according to the person responsible for

bringing in more residents, "Once you are there, you are as connected as anywhere else.

The island has electricity and the internet now."

The bluest waters you've ever seen, she said, adding that seeing the stars from this

island is magnificent.

So, would you move to Pitcairn?

What about working in Vatican City under the Pope?

Help the Oppressor and the Oppressed - Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq - Duration: 3:21.

This is why the Prophet ﷺ says in a hadith related by Imam Bukhari and others,

"انصر أخاك ظالماً كان أو مظلوماً"

"Help your brother, regardless of whether he is the ظالم, the wrongdoer

or the مظلوم, the one suffering the injustice." Help your brother

irrespective of whether he is a perpetrator of injustice or whether he is a victim of injustice.

So the Sahabah said, "Ya Rasulullah! We can understand helping the oppressed helping

our brother if he is the victim of injustice but how do we help the ظالم

the wrongdoer the perpetrate of injustice himself. The Prophet ﷺ said, "You stay his hand.

You stop him from his injustice by doing so you will be helping him.

The sad fact is there are so many occasions when

a suffering مظلوم, someone who is a victim of gross injustice actually turns

to us for help and what do we do? We refuse to get involved because we wish

to be diplomats. We don't wish to stand up for the truth and justice we wish to

be in the good books of everyone. We wish to please everybody everyone

And this is one of the traits of hypocrisy because what happens when you try to please everyone?

You end up being dishonest you end up lying

You hardly ever speak the truth because you can't if one group comes to you and says these

are our grievances and you tell them exactly what they want to hear

Another group comes and you tell them exactly what they want to hear and that then the

third group comes and you tell them exactly what they want to hear and we do

that in the hope of being in everyone's good books. You know what we end up doing?

We end up being in no one's good books because no one trusts us.

And this is what I mean by we end up being like the hypocrites or this is a trait of hypocrisy

Allah says about the hypocrites,

{ يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْ } [Surah 4 : Verse 142]

"They try to deceive Allah whereas Allah is the one who is keeping them in error."

{ وَإِذَا قَامُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ قَامُوا كُسَالَىٰ }

"When they stand up for prayer they do so lazily"

{ يُرَاءُونَ النَّاسَ } "Merely to show the people"

{ وَلَا يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا } "And they do not remember Allah except very little"

{ مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَا إِلَىٰ هَٰؤُلَاءِ وَلَا إِلَىٰ هَٰؤُلَاءِ }

"They hover in between this. Neither are they with these people nor are they with those people."

That's the meaning - these are the hypocrites: { لَا إِلَىٰ هَٰؤُلَاءِ وَلَا إِلَىٰ هَٰؤُلَاءِ }

Neither are they with this group of people nor are they with this group of people. No one trusts them.

And this is why Allah says, "We must stand up for the truth and justice."

LGR - Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition Review - Duration: 8:44.

*Happyland Adventures theme music and sounds play*

*it's quite pleasant*

Well isn't this just pleasant!

This being Happyland Adventures, developed by Johan Peitz of Free Lunch Design and released, appropriately

enough, as freeware in the year 2000.

It's one of those titles that ended up finding its way onto countless PCs in the first decade

of the new millennium, due to its inclusion on software compilations discs, magazine cover

CDs, and being widely shared online.

And it's little wonder; the download size of Happyland Adventures remained small enough

to avoid bringing a dial-up connection to its knees, yet it was packed with a surprising

amount of content for a game programmed by one guy.

This was made possible in part by its usage of the SpriteLib art library by Ari Feldman,

the creation of which is discussed in his book, Designing Arcade Computer Game Graphics.

This freely-available pixel art set was used for a bunch of Happyland's map tiles, and

in fact, the game itself was created as an entry into the GameDev.net SpriteLib contest

in April of 2000, where it won the prize for Best Use of SpriteLib.

Nice!

And Mr. Peitz didn't just keep the fun of creation to himself either, since he included

a level editor and custom map loading tools with the game, spurring the creation of countless

fan-made creations.

The result of all this was that Happyland Adventures was embraced by hundreds of thousands,

even millions, of gamers in a short amount of time, and you know what that means.

Time for a Christmas makeover!

Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition, to be precise, which is what the rest of this video will

be focused on.

The experience is largely the same as the original Happyland Adventures, but with the

requisite holiday reskin.

It begins with our hero, uh, dog.

Seriously does he not have a name, I just now thought about that.

Huh.

Anyway, Happyland Dog gets a call from Santa Claus because, of course, Santa's terrible

at his job and Christmas isn't going to happen unless someone random

does something about it.

But that's fine, because listen to that sampled music!

*Santa Claus Is Coming To Town plays*

Ahh it just makes me want to go and explore the land and have happy adventures!

But before that it might be useful to check out the help section on the main menu, if

only to get a quick glance at the animated characters to see who's naughty and nice.

After you've checked your list twice it's time to go town with the game itself!

Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition begins with this little introductory map letting you know

the basics of gameplay, although it's surprisingly devoid of any sort of holiday theme.

In fact, it looks confusingly tropical and actually made me double back to the game selection

menu to make sure I loaded the correct one.

But yep, this is indeed the beginning to Happyland Christmas, making it probably the least-Christmassy

Christmas game opening level I've seen.

You just talk to old dudes that tell you how to play the game and you collect fruits and stuff.

But that's okay, because once you've breezed through this tutorial section it's onto

all the snow and ornaments and holiday tunes you'd expect.

And man, it's just so... happy!

*The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You) plays*

Mm, the snow, the trees, the ornaments, the candy, the synthesized Christmas music, it's

downright delightful.

As for what you're doing here, the gameplay pretty much identical

to the original Happyland Adventures.

It's a side-scrolling platformer with an emphasis on exploration, jumping, and collecting,

as so many games like this tend to be.

But the twist is that the exit within each of the 15 levels is locked until you rescue

a specific number of little creatures.

Not the bigger monsters, those hurt you on contact.

THESE little guys.

They're specifically referred to as "Santa's helpers," so I guess in this universe the elves

won their abolitionist movement and Old Saint Nick has

moved onto enslaving cute fantasy animals.

Anyway, these bouncy Happyland citizens will follow you around as soon as you come into

contact with them, just like the Chirps in the 1984 Sega arcade game Flicky, as well

as the flickies themselves seen in games like Sonic 3D Blast in 1996.

Collect five critters at a time and deposit them at the appropriate spot somewhere in the level,

then rinse and repeat.

Often there are many more than five required to unlock the exit, and they're sometimes

hidden in precarious positions, so be prepared to be doing a lot of backtracking and tricky

platforming to get enough of them.

And thankfully, these companions can't be hurt by enemies, so as long as you stay alive

yourself there's no worrying about their safety.

Once you've found and deposited the appropriate number of the little beasts,

the exit is unlocked and there ya go.

And man, hopping around collecting creatures while they hop around behind you is strangely

satisfying, with each level providing just the right amount of a hassle to keep you engaged.

Most often the challenge comes from using your platforming skills to avoid hazards and

reach small ledges, but other times you won't be able to get where you need to go without

unlocking something.

This may take the form of a switch that opens a set of tiles, or you might need to find

a power-up like boots to increase your jumping height.

Then there are plenty of spots where the solution isn't obvious at all, and you'll have

to do some wall-humping to find a hidden passageway.

And yeah, if you're into finding tons of secrets like this, then Happyland Adventures

is the game for you.

Some levels even feature large rooms that you'll never see unless you uncover a secret entrance,

and of course this rewards the player in bonus items which lead to extra lives, and extra time,

and points, and even bonus creatures to save.

If you collect every single one of them, all the monsters turn into coins which can be

picked up and take you to a bonus room after you exit the level.

There's no need to collect absolutely everything to reach the end, but if you do take the time

along the way then you'll be rewarded nicely.

This also applies to collecting passwords, which only happens

if you gather five hidden blue orbs.

Since there's no saving your game and you only get one continue on dying, having these

passwords is kind of a big deal.

Of course, you can just Google them nowadays and not bother with the orbs at all, which

I totally did because screw password systems and the lack of savegames.

I have zero desire to play for an hour and a half and lose it all just because I died

without finding enough password orbs.

And you know what, while we're on the topic of irksome gameplay quirks, let's talk about

the sliding move.

While you don't have any weapons or actions to take out monsters, you can temporarily

knock them down by sliding into them if you have enough momentum.

This is super useful in some cases where jumping over monsters is tricky, but for some reason

it was decided that using this sliding skill is essential in getting past certain areas.

For instance, there are some jumps that are impossible to make normally, so you have to

slide down an incline, let go, jump, then hold to move in a certain direction for long enough.

This would be fine if the sliding move worked reliably but yeah, it doesn't.

At least I never felt fully comfortable with it in the few hours I spent playing.

You have to be incredibly precise with your key presses in order to get the right momentum

going, otherwise you come to a dead stop or you jump off in the wrong direction and

ruauhghh.

It's really, really annoying in a few spots where it's the only way

to get to the end of the level.

But really, that's one of my only complaints in an otherwise

pleasant and enjoyable little platformer.

Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition is one of, if not THE best,

freeware Christmas games I've covered on LGR.

It's straightforward enough for kids to play, yet still provides some additional challenges

for those that wanting a little more.

And with its hours of appealing gameplay and inclusion of level editing software, it heartily

embodies what I feel is the Christmas spirit with how generous it is

with its content, while remaining completely and utterly free of charge.

Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition is almost too wholesome for this world,

and I can't help but enjoy it.

And while this may be the final Christmas video for 2017, there's still plenty more

non-holiday stuff incoming in 2018!

New videos show up every Monday and Friday here on LGR.

So thank you very much for watching, and have a Merry Christmas!
