-Hey everyone! I'm Eric, your DIY Dad here at BabyLeague, and today we've teamed up

with Chalk TV for some fun arts and crafts that will keep the little ones busy.

Today we're going to be doing the Moo Art Project and let me tell you it is

moovalous. Let's get started! -Moo Cow Art Project. You will need a paper

plate, brown, white, and pink construction paper, a black marker, glue, and scissors.

Start by cutting out four black spots for your Moo Cow and glue these onto

your plate. Next cut out six ovals. Two brown ovals,

two white ovals, and two pink ovals. Glue the brown ovals at the top of the plate

for his horns. Then take the white ovals and glue them

onto the back of the plate. Glue the pink ovals on top of those.

Now let's cut a big pink oval. This will be the Moo Cow's mouth. Draw two nostrils so

he can breathe and a smile for he's happy.

And don't forget his eyes. Now he can see! Have a wonderful Moo day. -That was so

Speaking of good fortune If nothing else cheers you up, the In the season of the holidays, I'm pleased to announce that the Marauders Youtube channel will be doing a Holiday giveaway consisting of two guest passes for the Game Killing Floor which is the game shown in the video.

The rules for the giveaway are simple, The giveaway will go from December 25th to the 31st,

Before this I want to talk about today's holiday.

Yes, today is Catholic Christmas

but I want to talk about an ancient slavic holiday named "Koliada".

For slavs it was not only holiday, it was a God as well.

At the dates of 24-25 december slavs celebrated the end of an old cycle and the beginning of a new one.

They celebrated a new Sun, that begins to look towards the spring.

It begins to bring more warmth, because, as we all know, after this period of time days are getting longer so we have more sun.

And slavs celebrated this thing.

Also they thought that this period of time dangerous because the year's wheel opens.

And a crack between the world of spirits and the human's world is formed.

So various bad spirits, evil spirits comes to earth for a walk.

Many people use this thing for divinations.

People say that divinations on these days are very effective and always say the truth because the spirits itself helps.

Long time ago young girl used to conjecture.

They used to read about their lovers, about the fortune and the future in general.

The most known conjecture is one with two mirrors.

When I was little I tried once, but I didn't finish it because I was afraid.

You have to be alone in the room.

The light has to be turned off and only one candle has to be lightened.

You have to put two mirrors one in front of another.

The mirrors have to create an ethereal labyrinth in their reflections.

Then you have to sit in front of one mirror.

Undo your hair. Hair gives the power. Even indians told this.

And you have to stare for a long time through those labyrinths.

After long time of staring you will see the face of your future husband.

What else did slavs do in this day?

They were caroling.

Long time ago they were singing about the tree of life.

about an eagle, that lives on the top of this tree.

It symbolizes the world of Gods.

Long time ago people were afraid, that they will not be caroled, or caroling people will not sing well for them.

They thought that as is the carol, so it will be their life next year.

Caroling people put on costumes of spirits, wild and domestic animals.

I Think it looked very cool.

They formed groups of 4 and more persons.

each group had a handmade 8 angled star

In the middle of the star was a candle.

People put this star on a long stick and went through houses.

That star was the symbol of a new sun, that looked towards the spring.

BTW - this tradition was saved in Moldova and in a lot of postsovietic countries.

But now, this star is the star, that announced the Jesus' Birth.

When I was young (from 7 to 18 years old) I used to go caroling with my friends.

We loved doing it very much, we went caroling at Christmas, at new Year.

We song carols and had a lot of fun.

We were sooooo happy when people opened their doors for us.

It didn't matter for us whether they gave us sweets, or money or not.

We did it just for fun.

It was sad when people didn't want to open their doors.

One year we decided to go caroling in ukrainian style.

We were inspired by Gogol's stories.

And by the movie "Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka"

We song those songs from the movie.

We made even ukrainian costumes.

It was a lot of fun.

I want very much to safe this tradition and to give it to my children and then to my grandchildren.

I think it is something very beautiful, warm and makes people better and closer to each other.

Next comes this Christmas Tree.

I felt in love with this color.

For my Postcards I used this paper.

It is like unprocessed and I like how it looks.

And on my First Postcards are these nice hats.

I embroidered them and put a pompom on the top. Pompons were made of toy filler.

These hats were glued with a simple clay.

I didn't put a lot of clay.

On this one is written "This hat will keep you warmth on 2018 year!" And on this one " I wish you a lot of warmth on 2018 year!"

Next two Postcards are these two Christmas trees.

First I wanted to use these bells for the second Christmas Tree toy, but I bought too few of them, so I decided to put them here.

Here is Written "A lot of happy years, with love!" on romanian. We say these words also on birthdays and on a lot of other holidays.

On the second one is written " Happy New Year! Dzin-Dzin !"(sound)
