Washington weighs options against North Korea's latest provocation - Duration: 2:05.
After the North's latest missile launch, its longest-range weapon yet, the United States
is weighing its options.
More sanctions are on the way, but with so many already on the regime, many think they
won't be very effective.
That's leading some in Washington to warn that war could be on the horizon.
Lee Unshin has this report.
The U.S. is "running out of time when it comes to North Korea."
This, according to top Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
In an interview with CBS, Graham warned that every missile test pushes Washington closer
to a pre-emptive military strike.
His comment echoes those of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster; who said over the weekend
that the possibility of war with North Korea is increasing every day.
The North's test of an ICBM last week, believed to be able to hit all parts of the continental
U.S., sent tensions soaring.
But reports say Washington officials now believe the missile likely disintegrated while re-entering
the Earth's atmosphere.
(Korean- ) "Washington seems to think North Korea's ICBM
technology is not yet perfected.
Experts say the recent missile likely did not survive re-entry into the atmosphere,
so most officials believe now is not the time for talk of pre-emptive war."
So for the time being, Washington will likely turn to more sanctions aimed at putting economic
pressure on Pyongyang.
According to President Trump, another set of "major sanctions" on the isolated regime
is on its way.
But again, questions remain about whether they will make a difference.
(Korean- ) "At the moment it's expected Washington will
target the North's marine transportation by putting additional sanctions on its trading
companies.
A naval blockade, as a new measure, is also possible.
But without cooperation from China and Russia, it's unclear how effective these sanctions
could be."
New measures on a global scale, including China and Russia, are also expected in the
coming weeks.
The U.N. Security Council will hold a meeting of foreign ministers on the 15th... where
they'll consider what more can be done beyond the waves of sanctions they've already imposed.

The Elder Sign in Journey to the Tree of Sorrows - Duration: 1:35.
The original Elder Sign, we call it the Lovecraft Elder Sign,
is the Elder Sign that was actually sketched by Lovecraft
himself. I really like that. I really love its simplicity.
It looks like something that could have been etched on
the side of a cave wall thousands of years ago, or something.
I love its simplicity, I love its shape, and
if a Deep One is coming you can guarantee that is going to be
the Elder Sign that I grab. When we were developing Elder Dice
we, of course, based Elder Dice around the different signs and the
signs have become very important in Journey to the Tree of Sorrows.
And, when we did the Elder Dice set, I thought it was really
interesting with what we call the Lovecraft Elder Sign
at the time, the one that H.P. Lovecraft drew that kind of looks like a branch.
And, it is a really neat sort of magical
symbol, and I thought that it was really neat, as well, that
it had it was something Lovecraft had drawn himself and something that
the hardcore fans of H.P. Lovecraft immediately recognize. "Oh,
that's THE Elder Sign." So I really liked bringing that
into the the dice,
but of course we are also incorporating that into the stories as
a protective ward as it was in H.P. Lovecraft's stories.

Hello, I'm Michelle Park here with the weather update.
It's now minus 1 degrees Celsius in Seoul, but the windchill makes it feel like minus
6 degrees.
Over the night the temperature is going to keep falling until it hits minus 8 degrees
by the morning.
The wind is also getting stronger around Yeongheung-do Island,... where the search for two people
missing after a maritime collision is underway.
The wind is expected to calm down by tomorrow morning, but rain and snow are in the forecast.
From tonight until tomorrow morning, the west part of Jeolla-do province and Jeju Island
will receive rain.
The rest of the country, including the central regions, will get rain from the afternoon
until midnight.
It's going to be freezing cold tomorrow wherever you are,... with Seoul starting off at minus
8 degrees Celsius, while Daegu and Busan begin at minus 4 and minus 2 degrees.
By the afternoon, it's expected to rise up to 1 degree in Seoul, while Gwangju and Busan
peak at 4 and 6 degrees.

Norovirus food poisoning cases likely to increase during winter in S. Korea - Duration: 1:52.
It's flu season in Korea, and alongside the typical seasonal illness... there's been a
sharp increase in cases of Norovirus, another very unpleasant infection.
The authorities are reminding people that basic hygenic measures like hand-washing play
a big part in keeping you healthy.
Won Jung-hwan has more.
South Korea's health authority has urged the public to pay attention to personal hygiene
and food intake as the number of patients suffering from food poisoning is likely to
increase during the winter.
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday, the number
of patients with confirmed norovirus infections increased by nearly 50-percent during the
4th week of November compared to the previous week.
Norovirus is transmitted through the feces or vomit of infected people, or through contaminated
water or food.
Although severe illness is rare as norovirus infections generally only cause light symptoms
such as diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, stomach pain, or fever,… according to research by
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, norovirus is associated with an estimated
nearly 220-thousand deaths a year in developing countries.
As the virus often occurs from November to April in Korea, the health authority has provided
tips for preventing norovirus infections.

"To prevent norovirus infections, you should wash your hands more frequently,... for more
than 30 seconds in running water,... and you should look after your personal hygiene by
eating thoroughly cooked food and drinking boiled water."
Although having norovirus can be unpleasant, with the right treatment such as sanitizing
the patient's home and belongings, a full recovery can be made within two to three days.

N. Korea reportedly suggests meetings with U.S. expert close to Trump administration - Duration: 2:11.
Despite its provocative missile launches, North Korea is signalling that it wants to
talk.
Pyongyang reached out to an American expert close to the Trump administration several
times this year.
It also told Russian lawmakers that it wants to talk with Washington.
That was just a day after its latest ICBM launch.
Our Oh Jung-hee tells us more.
North Korea reportedly attempted to meet a U.S. expert close to the Trump administration
several times this year.
In an interview with Tokyo-based Sankei Shimbun,... Douglas Paal, Vice President for Studies at
the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said...
Pyongyang proposed meeting EIGHT TIMES this year,... the most recent being in early October.
The regime apparently suggested...that Paal could visit North Korea and meet with high-level
officials there,... or speak to Choe Son-hui , director-general for North American Affairs,
in a third country like Switzerland.
Paal said he rejected all the proposals.
(Korean) "The Kim Jong-un regime's ultimate goal is
to first become recognized as a nuclear state... and then negotiate with the U.S. to recover
bilateral relations, sign a peace treaty, and has its security guaranteed.
There's no reason for Kim to refuse talks; in fact, he wants them.
So, seems like he is trying to figure out what the Trump administration's stance is."
North Korea's intention to hold talks was evident in a message it sent to a few Russian
lawmakers who visited the regime last week.
Meeting with the Russian delegation the day after Hwasong-15 ICBM launch,... a high-level
North Korean official said,... the North is ready to start negotiations with the U.S.,...
but ONLY IF Washington recognizes Pyongyang as a nuclear state.
The U.S. shunned that claim.
The U.S. State Department spokesperson for East Asia Affairs told Voice of America,...
that Pyongyang should first be ready to (quote)"cease and rollback" its nuclear weapons program.
She added... that the U.S. does not see any signs... that Pyongyang is willing to have
credible talks on denuclearization... and that it's not enough for the regime to stop
its program where it is today.
