Classic Cocktail with Rye: The Scofflaw - Duration: 1:09.Today we're celebrating one of the happiest holidays of the year - Repeal Day!
Hello and welcome to the Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en! December 5, 1933 is the day that
Prohibition was repealed by the 21st amendment to the Constitution. That calls for a drink
and today we have the Scofflaw - a Prohibition era cocktail which I'm making with FEW Spirits
rye, which comes to us from Evanston, Illinois, a town that was actually dry until 1972!
All you do is combine 1½ oz rye, 1 oz dry vermouth, ¾ oz fresh lemon juice and ¾ oz
grenadine. Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a twist. Here's to
repeal!
We'll be back next week with party snacks and a new cocktail, but in the meantime, happy
Repeal Day! Thank you for visiting the Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en! Please subscribe to our
channel for lovely libations, liquored up live broadcasts and more! It's always happy
hour at the Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en!

Fluidizing Bed - Aerating Sand for Lost Foam Casting - Duration: 3:22.during the move I misplace the power supply that I made for my vibratory sand
table so what I'll do instead of paying like a hundred bucks it's a 100 volt DC
motor so that power supply if I were just to buy it would be a little
expensive I don't want to dig around to try to find it in the storage unit or
wherever it is so I'm just gonna make a fluidizing bed I'm gonna take recycle
this kerosene injector burner from my old way back you might remember I used
to use a kerosene foundry this is the nozzle burner so I'm gonna repurpose
some of these parts for a fluidized bed this will inject air into the sand and
help it kind of agitate and form around the part this is more like what a
commercial loss foam foundry would use to get the patterns embedded in the sand
I've got this scrap block of brass at the manifold from some type of
automotive test equipment any rate it has the same threads as this compression
fitting from the old kerosene injectors so I'm pretty much just gonna cut off a
corner and that way I can drill a hole that I can just solder in the copper
tubing into I hammered out flat spots so that I could drill holes around the
little ring that I'll put at the bottom of the flask I just used a propane torch
to heat up the brass and copper and some solder I really was probably using the
wrong type of solder but I had quick access to it and this is really just an
experiment when I originally cast these bosses for the yoke mount and the shaper
I went ahead and drilled them - I think this is 12 millimeters but a 12
millimeter drill bit and a material like bronze was leaving a hole less than 12
millimeters so I could bore it out this hole however is enough over 12
millimeters that is it's just a little too just a little too sloppy so I'm
gonna go back and recast these and then this time I'll use
like at 11 and a half millimeter drill bit to drill it and then bored out my
fresh bag of dry place and put off a lot of silica dust and that silica is not
something I want to breathe I suspected that the fluidizing bed would create a
lot of airborne silica dust so I felt like a mask was definitely in order I
think I'm using a p100 filter but a p95 would be probably fine
the fluidizing bed seems to work okay but it's quite a bit more messy and
cumbersome than the vibratory table so I'll probably switch back to the
vibratory table when I find that power supply in the meantime I've got a way to
embed my polystyrene patterns into the sand and make lost foam castings to keep
the shaper project going check out the full shaper project video playlist if
you haven't already and thanks for watching

Avengers Infinity War Trailer- Time Stone Scene Breakdown & THANOS Will Have The Time Stone Already? - Duration: 6:48.what is good Youtube Warstu here with a video on the Marvel Avengers infinity
War part 1 as we know this is a two-part but for some reason kavithai Kevin Feige
cannot release the title of the second part so it's called Avengers 4 because
it's gonna be a massive spoiler for the first part which makes no sense unless
it's going to be called something like Iron Man dies because that just makes no
sense why it's a massive spoiler so we know the first parts gonna be a massive
heist movie with the black cord and thon offs getting all the in gems for the
Infinity Gauntlet we do see some of them during the trailer we see that it
appears that he gets hold of the space gem and also potentially the time stone
which or time gen which Doctor Strange introduces to in his standalone Doctor
Strange movie we see in the trailer Bruce Banner looking like he's being as
smashed as we see him crash in to dr. strains a place of rest I just guess you
could say and it looks like this could be where the black order or Thanos come
and they're trying to protect it and trying to stop him from taking the time
staying off him the only reason I say the time stone is there is a scene just
before he punches Iron Man and potentially kills Iron Man where there's
a green glare which when dr. strange uses the time stone he gets some green
cgi the exit effects come up and I guess you could say that it potentially could
be the reflection from a time stone shining in to the visual display but
like I said you really do have to slow to click down even in fact pause the
clip to see this slight green glare I will put that image within the title so
if you've clicked into this video you would have already seen it the time
stone is very interesting as it kind of turns anyone into I guess reverse-flash
Maryellen because you can go back in time and change things I guess the
reason why the Avengers would use it would be we've all seen the scene where
Tony Stark is looking around and everyone is dead so I guess if he does
get all the signs except for the time stone it would be a pretty solid theory
to say dr. strange is going to go back in time and change everything so things
happen differently just because we know there's going to be major spoiler major
deaths in one of the movies does not actually mean people are going to be
dead for long term purposes it could be the case they're dead short-term the
Avengers fail and then Tony Stark goes that's not Tony Stark then dr. strange
Stephen strange goes back in time to bring them back to life
similar to how they could have done it in a Justice League movie when the
Justice League were failing and Barry Allen could have run back in time to
change everything but that didn't power and I can't honestly see The Avengers
using the time sign I could see fast using the time sign to stock the
Avengers ever become in the Avengers which would make everything a lot easier
for fantastic was actually a theory that I read the other day which basically
implied that we have seen a lot of behind-the-scenes images of thing of the
suit of the old Iron Man suit the whole thoughts who have these nice thoughts
got a new haircut so we know it's a flashback scene but the theory basically
implies that Dallas will go back in time and stop Tony Stark from ever becoming
Iron Man and then who just lived his life live his life out being a mass
weapon manufacturer Steve Rogers would never go to a recruitment office and
they just kind of stay a kid a weak kid that was bullied from Brooklyn and
etosha Black Widow never gets drafted by KGB Thor never gets exiled to earth and
Bruce Banner does not recreate the Super Soldier Serum so I think that is a
pretty solid theory but it doesn't really make much sense because if an
office is Savage if he's a kind of clone of Darkseid if you like
why would he do that when he's supposed to be a big bad if it does go down that
it would be such a cop-out personally I think it kind of engines a failing and
Doctor Strange going back in time to change something to bring Tony Stark
back to life because it I don't know it really there's a strong case that I'm
getting killed in the actual trailer when a fast punches him it looks like he
takes a massive punch to the face it could potentially take him down because
at this point he has got some of the stones obviously Thanos when he hasn't
got the stones isn't as powerful as most people think
obviously Odin isn't alive now but when Odin was alive if Odin and thought went
head to head and fan ass didn't have the Infinity Gauntlet with the gems Odin
could boss him and there's actually a fair few people who could take out an
ass like world war hulk but obviously never going together juicer obviously
the rights of who owns world war hulk but it's interesting because I think
this version of fan asks the MCU version compared to the comic book version seems
to be really more powerful seeing as at the end of Thor Rock raw knock fan of
Spacey takes how Thor pretty easily and he's left for dead until he hits the
garden galaxy ship toward everything about phalluses intimate threat which is
quite interesting because Cena's that's the most powerful version of Thor we
have ever seen and he's just got like new the kind of electrical eyes move
essentially his inherit has gained some of the Odin's power maybe not Odin's
iron like kind of really Odin's kind o Odin level power but it's most powerful
version of thought and stories one of them at its strongest characters in
Marvel I guess you could say it just proves how strong how strong Stannis
would be without any of the kind of stones so could iron man take a punch
when he has got the stones I don't know anyway guys this is a bit of theory let
me know what you think about everything I've just said in the comment
down below and I will catch you in another video
very soon but first hit that notification button down below to join
the squad and I will see you soon guys catch ya later

[Eng Sub] My Dear Loser รักไม่เอาถ่าน | ตอน Monster Romance | EP.4 [5/5] - Duration: 11:26.P'Pong,
how is it going?
Have you managed to get more money?
How about going back
to the race field again tonight?
You can race with my bike.
Let's put it aside for now.
I don't know how to get Jued's bike back.
Your debts are too much.
I think you should get a proper job now.
Who would want to hire someone like me?
Does your father say anything
about the bike?
My father doesn't know about it yet.
I lied to him that I was drunk last night.
So I left the bike at Uncle Mon's garage.
Listen,
you can crash at my place
for this next few days.
This way, you can avoid your father.
How does it sound?
I'm sorry.
About your motorcycle,
I try to bring it back.
There's one thing I'm concerned.
I'm afraid that
they disassemble my motorcycle
and sell off the parts.
No.
I'll find a way to get it back.
Don't worry.
Does it hurt anywhere else?
No.
If it doesn't hurt, smile.
Smile.
Smile.
Okay, let me massage you.
Did I hurt you?
Sorry.
I give you a massage at my place tonight.
That's Tum.
P'Pong!
Where is he going?
P'Pong!
Son of a bitch!
You cheated me.
You cheated me!
Where's the bike?
Where's Jued's bike?
Go get it back.
Do you want a piece of me?
You cheated us.
You cheated us!
P'Pong.
P'Jack.
Stop, I beg you.
This is for what happened yesterday.
And for Jued's bike.
I definitely get it back from you.
If I find out that you disassemble it,
I will report to the police.
Get lost.
Tell your man,
I will beat the crap out of him if I meet him.
Sorry but we are closed.
Hey,
you have been in a fight again?
You are bleeding.
My head hurts.
I think I have a crack right here.
It really hurts.
My brain is probably shown.
Stop pulling an act.
Do you have to involve
in a fight every day?
Why are you here?
Well,
I cannot go home like this.
Can I use your bathroom?
I need to clean up first.
Why don't you use the bathroom
at On's place?
Do you really get jealous of me and On?
I don't.
I just don't want to come
between anyone's relationship.
But I and On are not dating.
I don't buy it.
What should I do to make you believe me?
No need to do anything.
It has nothing to do with me anyway.
Are you sure?
Go clean your face.
I help clean your wound.
Who put it that deep?
Which one?
The one inside.
Sorry.
The blue bag?
Hey,
the blue bag, right?
Yes,
the blue bag.
Here.
Give it to me.
You care about me?
I just pity you.
Pack it well this time.
Don't make it look suspicious to the police.
Got it, bro.
P'Tae.
Tum,
what happened?
Your rival.
My rival?
Pong?
Yes.
He saw me on my own.
So he and his guy teamed up against me.
He said
he would call the police
if you disassemble Jued's motorcycle.
I can't stand the sight of you, Pong.
Let's crush him.
He's asking for it.
Okay,
I have prepared everything.
Now you can do it your own.
Come on.
I cannot dress my own wound.
I cannot see it.
You can't see it?
No.
Give me a sec.
Problem solved.
Now you are good to go.
But it's hard to.
Look,
you can even get into a fight every day
how come you cannot
clean your own wound too?
Fine.
You've been getting into troubles every day
since I met you.
Is there a day that
you don't go look for troubles?
Since I know you,
you have been nagging at me.
So,
what are you here for?
I just want to see you.
Stop kidding me.
What are you here for?
I really want to see you.
Also, I want to tell you that
I'm getting a job now.
Really?
Where have you applied?
Have they contacted you back?
I don't know if I get hired or not.
Where have you applied?
Do you know the person
whose name is Namkhing?

What makes you think that
you I will hire you.
I have been helping you all this time.

Are you sure you don't want to hire me?
If you always have bruises
on your face like this,
my customers may not want to come here.
But I'm a hard worker.
I don't know.
I have to think about it.
Hire me.
I will pay you
only 290 baht for the first day.
Since you already drink this tea.
Come on.
Don't be so stingy.
Does this mean I get hired already?
Let's see.
You may last only one day.
No way.
We'll see
if you can bear it.
I can.
Or else I won't apply for the position.
I don't want to hire someone
who is good for nothing.
I show you that
I'm better than you think.
See?
He's late on the first day.
Don't worry, Mr. Tomboy.
I'll take good care of your friend.
Hold on.
Are you really want to work for that bitch?
Put more strength to it.
All right. All right.
Your T-shirt has cigarette smell all over.
What do you want me to do?
Take it off.
His name is Pong.
He's an internet Idol

Plastic Surgery: To Have or Not to Have? Right and Wrong Reasons to Have Cosmetic Surgery after 50! - Duration: 11:17.you know you can do the nips the tucks the staples whatever it is but you have
to ask yourself why am I doing this what's the purpose
what have I addressed or not addressed as to what's driving my choice to have plastic surgery
glad to have you back for another episode of Our 2nd Act with Paige and
Silke for your second act of life ... hi Paige hi Silke .. I'm back uh you're back
again back again and we are again melting it'll just a little bit it's a
little bit which kind of leads us into our segment about you know looking good
and feeling good ... while you're on camera how it shows everything exactly exactly what we're
going to talk about today is we're starting the conversation about plastic
surgery you know to have or not to have that's great especially you know of
course as we get older you know that I know when I was younger I there was a
lot of times I say you know I'm never gonna do that I'm never gonna do Botox I
mean you know and it's easy to say that when you don't have the wrinkles yet
what you don't have the crows feet when things aren't right and then we're on
camera all the time you see me go you know so I I admit I've had Botox I've
had fillers I've had a couple other things little things and you know that I
may or may not disclose you know and in their sort of lies what we're going to
talk about is the judgment of it how we judge ourselves how others judge us and
when should you or should you not have you know a little nip or a little tuck
we're going to be talking to several experts in the field a plastic surgeons
around the country who have some very interesting takes on this but first
today we wanted to you know again I have us women open up the conversation
because you brought up some really great point that lead into how do you know how
we think we're improving ourselves or are we ...mm-hmm so where would you like to
start Silke ... well you've made a really good point Paige in that you no matter
what we fix on the outside we still are us on the inside yeah and you know I
remember and I'm dating myself now so I remember decades ago when the stomach
surgeries we're just starting where people were getting their stomach
stapled and you know I had some clients that had a lot of weight on them
and they would get the stomach surgery and boy they would slim down just all
the way down and they'd come in and say you know what Paige I had the surgery I've
been told I look so much thinner and it was very clear that they look thinner
but they would look in the mirror and they would still see the same person
that they did when they were heavy because what happens is you know you can
do the nips the tucks the staples whatever it is but you have to ask
yourself why am I doing this what's the purpose
what have I addressed or not addressed as to what's driving my choice to have
plastic surgery so if you haven't really connected to your inner knowing and
decided you know am I good enough do I have a theme of am I not good enough the
way that I am you know you have to kind of look at that theme if you're working
on yourself and you still make a decision to have plastic surgery that's
fine too just remember that when you have the surgery you know wherever you are
there you are so it's you know it's the same component so just so just know that
if you go and have the surgery continue to work on whatever your life themes are
they get in the way of you not feeling like you're enough whether you look good
enough you act good enough how are you in your clothes it doesn't matter
because you can have a woman who we would think is you know larger a society
deems larger and then we have another woman over here so like a model that
stick thin and you could have the stick thin model going I am just not thin
enough and you can have the woman over here that has a lot of curves going damn
I look fantastic I'm good enough just the way I am because her insides match
her outsides ... that's a great great great point and I know one of our other experts
Scarlett De Bease our stylist ... right right she brings it up a lot she what
you know works with women who are a 2 and you have no confidence and women
who are you know size 24 and have all the confidence and they really I think
that's what it comes down to is confidence what is going to give you
that confidence I you know say for me that you know especially when you when
you do have to look at yourself all the time oh yeah it started getting to me
you know and then and so I did want to do something to where I
what's important to me is that it's not obvious right and that's where I
sometimes I sometimes look at especially some of the stars the you know people
who have tons of money who can afford the best of the best yeah why do you do
what you do and I think that's where the conversation gets interesting
you know what's too much what isn't ...well I think it goes back to what society
deems as well you're in your mid 50s now if you're an anchor on film if you're in
your mid 50s I don't know do they want to be looking at someone in their 50s or they
want to be looking at someone in the 20s and I would like for us to shift and
change that paradigm that you know it's okay to age naturally you know I think
when we get so hung up on this isn't right this isn't right this isn't right
oh my gosh we lose who we are we lose the connection to our soul we lose the
connection to to who we are and the beauty that we bring from the inside out
and we're always looking for beauty from the outside in and I'm all about healing
and living from the inside out so if you're doing your work on the inside and
you say you know what I'd still like to have a little nip and tuck great that's
fine but always know why are you doing it
what do you want to get out of it and like I said before wherever you are
there you are so if you decide to get plastic surgery
make sure that you're matching your insides with the reasons why you're
getting it so you don't get it and go oh my gosh why do I still not feel better
do the inner work if you're gonna do the work on the outside with plastic surgery
continue to do the work on the inside of your life themes so you don't walk
around thinking oh my gosh am I good enough do I look good enough to it
whatever your issues and life themes are it's about aligning them with the outside
of you and the inside of you do the work in both areas that make sense ...no it
makes great sense and you know one of our producers brought up an interesting
point when we discussed this off-camera and that is ask yourself do you want it
or do you need it mm-hmm and when do you want when do you need or when is it both
and a lot of times if people think they need something they haven't done the
inner work because a lot of times when we say god I really need that what's
going on in your life that's driving you to need it do you
really need it or someone telling you or a society or whatever it is driving that
force so spend the time to do the inner work on the inside and what's the need
versus the want the want would be gosh that this would be you know it's not
gonna change my life I want this right I I can honestly say that some of the you
know little things I've had done right it absolutely has helped my confidence
so for you that it hasn't been a want yes and maybe not a need but it
certainly made I felt much better about myself I I had a lot more confidence as
a matter of fact but while you were doing that were you also working on the
absolute life and that's I was changing my whole life that's the key
you know page one one of the issues that you know goes with the whole
plastic-surgery topic is especially in our age and the age ISM that we get at
the word you know in the work and there are so there are a lot of women and men
for that matter that feel like they need to look younger in order to even maybe
get be considered for a job again what do you say to that
Oh it drives me fucking crazy I'm allowed to say that yes it's a shame because we
have so much wisdom and life experience to bring to the workforce that when how
we look gets in the way of the wisdom and experience that we bring there's a
serious problem in our society I don't know if there's an answer to this
question do you do plastic surgery or do not do plastic surgery I think it goes
back to the number one person who you have to accept and embrace is yourself
and once you do that and you understand why you're choosing to do plastic
surgery then you have your answer but until then you can be getting so
much plastic surgery and not you know feeling confident about yourself so you
have to decide where are you in your life what do you need versus what you
want and you know looking within as far as you know all the wisdom and
experience that we bring in our age group sometimes people are going to
accept it in the workforce sometimes they want somebody young there's only so
much that we can control but we can control is how we feel about
ourselves and what we decide to do with our own bodies well that's a really good
point if so if you choose to have it for it for purposes of confidence if that
confidence isn't gained then there's lots more going on there yeah very good
point well and that being said you know the
whole cosmetic industry plastic surgery market it's you know we're talking billions of dollars
the industry that we people participate in that I certainly participate in and I
you know we want to talk to people who can give us some really great tips about
what works what doesn't work you know how do you take just a few years perhaps
off you know right off the face without making it look like you're a completely
different person that you're outside does not matter inside at all or your
picture on your driver's license at all right yeah exactly and you know people
say the eyes are a gate you know a gateway to the world and there's some
interesting advancements also in treatments and procedures that are out
there that I think certainly women and men our age are you know would be
interested in and I look forward to bringing that to them is there anything
else that you want to add to just what I've been saying match our insides with
your outsides and know that you're good enough whatever you choose to do
terrific well I agree with you on that and we look forward to seeing you again
on another episode of Our 2nd Act with Paige and Silke ... for your second act of life.

Giving the Corvette a New LS Heart! Sort of. | Drift Corvette Build w/Matt Field - Duration: 17:38.(groovy music)
- Alright guys, welcome to this week's show.
We left off with me making a stupid mistake
with thinking I was gonna weld this into the car.
I was gonna weld it in right there,
but that's aluminum, this is steel, whoops.
So, what I'm gonna do first,
is make a plate,
rivet nut it into the aluminum,
and then at that point, the steering column
will pretty much be done and we can move on to other things.
This week, we're probably gonna be fitting
the engine into the car.
I got my motor mounts from LG Motorsports,
I got the new torque tube coming,
so we'll put in our mock-up engine
and start fitting supercharger and all the stuff,
as long as they come in on time.
Probably going to also be working on, like,
waterlines, firewall bulkheads,
placement of those type of things.
Pretty much mounting anything that we currently have
that we're not waiting for parts on.
We get the pedals done.
It should be pretty easy 'cause it's a flat floor,
but should keep us busy.
Alright, this is a new top plate
that I'm gonna weld to the piece
that we have in the car there,
and drill it and rivet nut it into the chassis.
You can't weld steel to aluminum.
(groovy music)
Alright, we got this piece.
Swing it up.
Piece we just made.
Oh yeah,
money.
Two rivet nuts right at the top, be good to go.
So, I'm gonna go ahead and weld this together
and then we will drill the chassis,
make it fit.
(groovy music)
Perfect.
Alright guys, what I'm gonna be doing today
is actually bolting the pedals to the floor.
Fortunately, this car is much easier
than almost every other car
that I've ever done floor mounts in,
'cause the floor's flat.
But, it also comes with its own set of challenges
because the floor is fiberglass
and bonded with all kinds of, I don't even know, who knows?
So, I'm gonna first drill my holes into the floor
to locate the pedals and then at that point,
I'm gonna come underneath the chassis
where there's two steal rails
and build some sort of steel structure
with nuts welded into it, so that I can just
thread the pedals right in.
So yeah, easy and hard for both of those reasons,
but you can take a look.
See how nice and flat the floor is?
So, right now, I'm just trying to set the correct distance
to get the pedals square in the car.
I know where I want them,
I basically need them as far forward as possible
while still being able to get the lines in
and out of the master cylinders.
I'm using this to kinda see where the seat is square
so that I can square the pedals up accordingly.
I'll show you underneath the car.
We are totally flat underneath the car
and here, I'll build some sort of steel structure
'cause this is steel and that rail over there
is steel as well.
(groovy music)
So, from what I can tell,
it's straight, square in the chassis, so I guess...
(drill starts)
(groovy music)
Alright, so it's been, like,
an hour with me moving the pedals, like,
a 16th of an inch this way and that way, and ugh.
But, it's done.
They're bolted to the floor.
Still have to work on the structure part,
but you can, like,
wee, move them around and do my thing,
and all happy now.
So, I had to be very careful to make sure
that that fitting clears in the back right there.
We should be good to go.
Alright, so I'm under the car.
Here's where the pedals come through.
I've got my template material and some material here,
and I'm gonna make a steel floor plate
and weld it into the chassis with nuts on the back,
so that we can just bolt the pedals right in.
'Cause this floor is fiberglass and wood,
and all kinds of crap, so we need some sort
of steel structure for it to mount to.
I'm gonna build this steel structure,
weld it in and then see if the pedals flex,
and brace it up from there if they do.
(groovy music)
Alright, so I got my pattern, my material.
I'm gonna lay the pattern down on the material,
trace is out, put it up to the floor,
drill the holes for the floor, see where it's gonna be,
drill some speed holes in it, pop out some dimple dies,
weld the nuts in,
go from there.
(groovy music)
Alright, so I got my dimple die set.
This is the floor plate,
that's where the pedal set bolts through the floor.
I'm gonna drill some holes, put some dimple dies in it,
and I'll weld the nuts in and go from there.
(groovy music)
Oh, yeah.
Alright, so I got my dimple die.
Got my plate.
Going to go ahead and dimple die this
in our trusty, piece-of-junk press.
(groovy music)
So, the floor plate's all dimple died, looking sick.
Now, I gotta weld these nuts on the bottom.
We will be in business.
I like to use a countersunk bolt
because it holds it completely center
when you go to weld it on.
(groovy music)
A'ight.
Alright, so the plate's done
and I'm actually gonna paint the inside of it,
before I weld it up, because there's no way
that the inside of it's gonna get welded,
so it would just sit there and rest.
Trying to think ahead.
So, there's our plate.
All the nuts and everything, welded in.
Bam.
I put bond, window bond stuff on here
because I wanna glue this to the floor
to help spread the load through everything,
'cause it's gonna be welded around here,
and also bolted in and then glued in.
(groovy music)
Alright, so I just got the floor all welded up.
Obviously, these bolts are way too long,
but we are good to go.
Pedals are mounted.
Alright, what's going on, guys?
Today, I'm gonna be getting the mock-up engine ready.
We have a mock-up block here from RHS,
the torque tube, the bell housing,
motor mounts, so I'm gonna be getting rid
of those stock motor mounts,
putting on my nice, billowed aluminum ones
from LG Motorsports and getting that motor
into the car.
Alright, these are engine mounts from LG Motorsports.
They're just nice, lightweight, billowed aluminum stuff.
Simple.
Get rid of this giant, heavy, rubber nonsense.
And the great thing about building a car
that came with an LS,
this or that
bolts in.
(groovy music)
Alright, so Andy and I are being dumb
and we're trying to lift this thing in,
but I'm too lazy to grab the engine hoist.
(groovy music)
Alright, so right now,
I'm gonna work on the battery mounting.
I have this box from Trail Gear,
just this very simple, weld-in Optima battery box.
A 34R RedTop Optima, it is just super simple.
No fabrication necessary.
I'm gonna put this up in the chassis,
weld it in, battery's mounted, done.
And fortunately for us, when you come over here,
we have this giant, open area right here
that I'm gonna mount the battery to.
This is where one of the two fuel tanks went,
so there's the one, there's two,
and I'm actually gonna be using the right-side fuel tank,
the passenger side, because it's going to offset
the weight for me,
having eight or 10 gallons of gas right on that side.
So, on the other side, it's just wasted space.
Might as well mount our battery there.
I'm gonna clean off the paint here,
get the frame rail ready to weld the battery box on.
(groovy music)
Alright, so I got the chassis cleaned,
I have the box, I have it marked out where it needs to be.
I'm gonna put this up here.
Tack it, check it one last time and then weld it in.
(groovy music)
Alright, so it's tacked in.
I just hope that the battery fits in between here,
so I guess we'll see.
So, it fits.
It goes in and out.
Just gotta weld it up.
(groovy music)
Alright, so what I'm doing right now,
is I'm drilling our firewall plate.
I'm putting the rivet nuts in
'cause this plate is gonna go right here
with our waterline fittings coming through it.
These 2-20 A&A fittings are gonna be running
to the water pump.
So first, I have all this pre-drilled
where I want it on the firewall.
Put in my first rivet nut,
I'm gonna go ahead and put in the other ones
and drill off the plate.
(groovy music)
Alright, we got the piece in the drill press.
I'm gonna drill out these holes
and then check if it fits.
(groovy music)
Alright, today's a pretty exciting day.
First of all, we have Cody and his dog, Ryder,
were helping us, that's always a bonus.
And the stuff from A&A came in.
A&A are kinda the Corvette supercharge specialists
and you can tell, I mean, this stuff is just so nice.
So this year, we're actually gonna be ditching
the cog setup and going with the more
traditional 10-rib belt.
Should be easier on the supercharger,
should be easier on the bracket system
and I don't foresee any problems
'cause this is the same setup that we use
on the 86 in China and we've had zero issues.
These guys, like, welded the spacers in
so I don't have to fumble with them
if we ever have to go and change a belt or a supercharger.
Here's a Vortech off the S14.
I'm not sure how this is all gonna work,
since this was designed for my S14,
so I will have to see what's up with that.
But, all this stuff is super nice.
We're gonna go ahead and start putting it on the car today,
but first, we gotta put some heads on our mock-up RHS block.
(groovy music)
- Alright, got the heads on for the mock-up
and now we're gonna go play with this stuff.
- [Matt] Making sense of this stuff yet?
- Yeah, so now we gotta cut stuff.
- [Matt] Give it a little trim.
- [Cody] Yeah, cut some brand new stuff,
I like that. - Fortunately,
A&A has very good instructions on how to do all this
because Cody's a little confused.
- Yeah, superchargers are-- - To be completely honest,
I'm a little confused, too.
There's a lot of parts here.
(groovy music)
So, Cody's putting on the secondary drive for this
'cause this supercharger setup's kind of interesting,
in that it's different that it has a secondary drive
that actually drives the accessories
and a separate belt that drives the supercharger.
It's definitely a benefit,
having a supercharger dedicated on its own belt
and A&A are some of the only people
that do that for a Corvette.
Most people just use one giant serpentine belt
for the whole thing, so.
It's a lot of components, but it makes it better.
(groovy music)
Alright, let's try to get this alternator situation on now.
I think it takes two people
to get the tensioner and the alternator on.
It's got, like, a proper amount of that.
(groovy music)
Alright, we're actually bolting this thing on.
Obviously, this is from the S14,
so it's facing the wrong direction,
but I just wanted to see what we're working with.
Intercooler room, stuff like that.
(groovy music)
Alright, so we're getting the intake manifold on
from the motor that came out of this car, the LS3.
We're gonna be using a fast intake manifold,
but just for mock-up reasons while we wait
for that one to come.
LS3 will work.
This is the exact throttle body
that we're gonna be using, drive by wire LS3 throttle body,
and now we're gonna work on getting
the intercooler mounted up.
So, there's our intercooler.
It's from Treadstone Performance.
Same intercooler that we run in the S14.
Just gotta figure out our height
and where we're gonna make it fit,
but seems to me like there's plenty of room up in here.
So, we got the intercooler placed, basically where we want.
It took way too long to do that,
this intercooler's kinda hard to mount,
seeing as this isn't flat at the bottom
and trying to make sure this lines up.
So, we have our vertical mounts here
that we're gonna tack in,
and then we have a template for our secondary mount here
to help reduce some flex.
Yeah, the intercooler fits good.
Here's our intercooler brackets.
This one goes on the frame rail.
Intercooler's gonna bolt to it, just about right here,
and then these are the secondary braces for it.
Alright, we got the intercooler mounted.
It's done.
Really happy with how the mounts came out.
Just have to drill holes for the intercooler here
and then it's good to go, but obviously,
we're gonna take it off, weld it all up.
And we have our intake figured out right here.
Easy-peasy.
So convenient.
And it clears the hood, no problem.
This is gonna go directly to here
and we already have our CX Racing intercooler piping
that just, bam, S's out, cast 90,
right up into there when we get our new blower.
So easy.
Alright, so we got most of the front end stuff
all mocked up and done.
We're gonna be waiting for a couple more parts.
An oil cooler from CX, a couple other things,
so in the time being, I'm going to actually make
my anti-intrusion bars.
And yeah, this doesn't really look like
an anti-intrusion bar, but on a Corvette,
as you can see, there's not a lot of room
to make that happen.
This is inside the frame rail,
so it's pretty much impossible
for any wheel to come through.
This is the actual frame rail,
so after working with Kevin Wells for a while,
kinda going back and forth since
the FD rule book does state that we have
to have anti-intrusion bars so
that our legs don't get broken when we crash
into the wall at Seattle, came up with this.
This is gonna go right here
and tie into this steel structure that is,
well, this is aluminum, this is steel.
We're gonna weld it to the cage right here
and then that way, if the wheel ever does try
to come into here, the box will be tight to the A-pillar
'cause that's really what it's all about,
is making sure that a wheel can't come in
and tie it to the A-pillar so
that it doesn't break your feet.
(groovy music)
Alright, I got the anti-intrusion plates all cut,
and done and drilled.
I'm gonna paint the back of them,
so that they can't rust, 'cause they are gonna
be flat against the car and welded into the cage,
so moisture or anything gets in there,
it's gonna rust on the backside of the panel,
just like I did to the floor plate.
There they are and here we go.
Alright, so that's it for this week's episode
of Field Prep.
We got a lot done, as you can see behind me.
Focused a lot on the supercharger setup,
the engine, figuring out where stuff goes,
but be sure to check back next Tuesday
where we're gonna be putting up our dry sump system,
figuring out where all of our coolers
and filters are gonna go,
and just more focus on the engine bay
and placing things out.
I'm gonna be installing our CX Racing oil cooler
in kind of a V-mount setup with the intercooler,
so it should be pretty cool.
Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe,
and let me know, am I missing something?
Think you can do it better?
Am I doing it wrong, doing it right?
Be sure to let us know in the comments
and check back next week.
Later, guys.

Playstations, WII's, PSP's found in abandoned Fukushima store. - Duration: 15:23.Don't touch anything.
The amount of abandoned stores is unbelievable.
We're on the road again, in this episode we gonna visit some stores.
We checked this store yesterday, but it was dark. We tried again this morning but they were emptying the shop next door.
The shops next door are all being emtpied, we think they will start with this one soon.
It's a shame, so much useful stuff. -They throw everything away.
I's a non-food store, so there is no bad smell. -It actually smells nice, although it doesn't look like that way.
deodorant and stuff like that. It's a drug store.
Gilette...
Decent razors, with a special auction today, free razorblades.
I think it's not really that radioactive, because it's laying inside. But they still throw it away.
And a lot of stuff on the ground due the earthquake. So a few things are broken. But still..
It's crazy that it hasn't been looted. People have a lot of respect here for each other's property and they obey the rules.
In The Netherlands it would have been looted completely. -In Belgium too, not only looted but also photographed a lot.
There would be six busses filled with photographers.
Check here, blood pressure monitors.
8300 Yen, quite expensive stuff. -Pretty expensive indeed.
Gonna calculate it in Euro's. 13.125 Yen.
91 Euro. (110 dollar)
Just laying here.
Mouth masks here. -Really? We still need to buy some.
Making beautyshots in this mess is difficult.
My god.
We're inside an abandoned restaurant. -Finally we found one.
I hope it's nice. Nice decoration here.
A typical Japanse restaurant with low tables. -Really Japanese indeed.
You can make a nice picture here.
I think this was the aquarium for lobsters.
Ah, it's just a regular aquarium.
Too bad it's pretty empty. -Yeah.
Nice bear, the beer bear.
Nice mask! would fit perfectly in your tiki bar. -Indeed.
We're in an abandoned book/dvd store.
You can see the results of the earthquake.
It's a big mess, but in quite good condition. Not decayed.
It's crazy. It can happen in our area too. imagine if...
Ah yes, they read in the opposite way here.
With DVD.
You see...everything is censored in Japan
Whits spots everywhere.
You need to have a good fantasy for this.
But it's Youtube proof.
It's a cool store.
It's pretty big too. -Pretty
Too bad there's only one source of light.
They tried to break the cash machine, but they didn't succeed. At least with one of them.
Yeah, but we don't do that kind of stuff. -Duh.
Xbox 360 games. Is there light enough or do we need a flashlight?
Nintendo DS. They are empty.
Only the cases, the game will be in the storage -That's normal.
Playstation I games. -Really old.
Funny...
Well, funny...sad. There are people living in poverty.
Poverty? They left..We don't know what happened with those people.
Frederik found something.
Wtf. Check this, brand new.
Brand new.
There's another one.
It says something about the impact of the disaster. -I don't get it.
Unbelievable, check. -Everything new.
Everything brand new in boxes.
I see Wii consoles aswell.
Can you light it up?
Black or White, which do you want?
Too bad there's no electricity, otherwise we could play a game.
A few other Nintendo consoles there.
Playstation.
Your phone has a good camera.
An old square box.

Where will tomorrow's IT specialists come from? - Duration: 3:16.Programming is more important than learning English,
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said in a newspaper interview.
If it were up to him,
programming would be a mandatory subject in every school in the world.
Switzerland is aware of the importance of codes.
But it's facing a shortage of around 25,000 IT specialists.
Have we ignored the trend,
missed the boat?
"Yes", says IT professor Juraj Hromkovic at ETH Zurich.
Switzerland - like other western European countries - is lagging behind.
In schools we have subjects in which
operating instructions
are being taught at the level of washing machine instructions.
There's no intellectual depth to it, it's not a spiral curriculum,
there's no sustainability.
The goal should really be
to train the designers of this technology
and not only the consumers.
Switzerland hasn't missed the boat,
says the IT industry association, but more could be done.
The fact that IT is now
to become a mandatory subject at high schools
will have only limited impact.
It will help to ensure that a high-school education
will take account of IT in line with its current importance
and disseminate it,
but that doesn't mean that all students will become IT technicians.
And IT graduates from universities
make up only a small proportion of the IT specialists.
Their number remains relatively low.
In 2015 there were 410 university degrees.
There are more graduates coming out of
higher vocational schools and universities of applied sciences,
accounting for some 1,100 IT graduates per year.
Most IT qualifications are in basic vocational training -
2,670 IT graduates in 2015.
And this is where the IT industry association wants to pick up.
We believe that there's one priority:
the creation of additional training places,
in other words, apprenticeships.
All companies are called on - all companies in all sectors,
which are currently undergoing digitalization and which need specialists.
Many sectors still have potential.
Maybe it's out of tradition that they don't offer training in this field.
IT professor Hromkovic goes a step further
and wants to introduce across-the board
IT lessons starting in primary schools.
Statistical studies involving tens of thousands of children
show that
the best IT technicians and programmers are those
who started programming at the age of 9-13.
More apprenticeships, earlier tuition,
reinforcement in high schools -
the differing approaches pursue the same goal:
to make Switzerland fit for a digital future
with enough IT specialists.
