Vlog: Oameni deosebiti | Remarkable peoples - Duration: 5:54.
I told you how bad is the weather in Amsterdam?!
Yes, I already told you?
Ok, then I don't tell you again!
Anyway, I don't want to tell you about the weather.
But about something else.
Something more interesting.
That is, about the people I met here,
at hostel.
Young and beautiful people, with very interesting life stories!
I want to tell you about a girl from New Zealand,
who at 23 years old,
just turned,
she works in Europe, in France, as a babysitter
and
she use this opportunity to travel through Europe.
She has a dream.
She wants to write a book about her travels
and I wish her all the best and I'm just waiting to read the book!
I'm sure she'll have a lot to say!
I, at this point, I'm going to Anne Frank's house.
I think you heard about her, right?
You've heard of her famous diary...
And...
until I get there,
I hope I'm on the right direction,
I'll talk with you.
Next, I want to tell you about a guy from Australia
who
goes to Macedonia, birthplace of his parents
but until he gets there, he stops in several places
from Europe and visits Europe with this occasion.
This is a great thing to do, in my opinion!
Wait a minute, because I have to check on the map if I'm in the right direction and then I'll come back to you.
So...
Now I'm in the right direction, before I was going in another direction!
What were we talking about?
About the weather, right?
No, not! :)
Now, in the morning, I'm fine, don't worry
I did not eat any cake!
I'm fine, I only drank a coffee.
The next guy that I want to tell you about, is a boy from Canada,
who is 21 years old,
and from the age of 19, just after graduating , did not go to college,
and went to travel around the world!
He was a year in Australia where he worked on farms and got the money from this work
and after that, from about a year, just travels around the world!
He told me very interesting things, for example, about Cambodia,
about Thailand.
He's a cool guy
who,
what can I say,
does something special, right ?!
I mean, let's be serious; how many of us, after graduating high school, have we thought of wandering alone around the world?!
Most of us went to college without knowing anything about the real world!
But he went to a foreign country
where he worked
and
travels around the world.
I admit, I envy him and I'm sorry that I don't have 19 years, any longer, but with my mind and my experience from now!
I also met two Italians.
youth and nice.
They came here, just like me, just for a few days.
Just to relax.
The Romanians and the Italians are brothers. We understand well.
That's about all I had to tell you.
I don't want to go into too much detail about them.
Just think about what I told you and the conclusions are yours to find.
If it is good or not, what they do.
If they have an interesting life or not.
I just tell you that you can meet many interesting people
when you're traveling and staying at a hostel.
Therefore,
but better, I will not give you any advice,
everyone does what they want,
because we are in Amsterdam and here nobody cares about what others are doing!
I'm talking on the street,
the people around me, minding their own business.
Everyone mind of his own things.
I, with my video,
you with watching him.
I hope you enjoy it.
If you don't like it, let me know.
Because I want to know.
I see that video is a bit long,
maybe too philosophical so we end up here
and come back later with another video.
Which I hope will be more exciting. Bye.

STOP STRESSING OUT ABOUT YOUR DREAMS with Dr. Gill Heart - Duration: 31:42.
hello everyone I'm sol ballard from solballard.com and today I have a very
special treat for you guys we are talking about stress management but it's
not just any stress management we have a very very cool topic we're talking about
how to use your mind to manage everyday stress when you are trying to reach
these big lofty goals and dreams that you guys have I know some of you guys
have businesses and some of you guys are like reaching for the stars here so I
brought on a very special guest dr. Gill Heart with us today
welcome welcome thanks for being with us I'm so excited really appreciate you
taking your time to speak to everybody about this matter so Gill can you tell
us a little bit about your background so everybody knows who you are where you
come from sure so thank you very much for having
me I was as you can hear from the accent I was wasn't born here I was born and
raised in Israel I served over seven years and one of the top if not the top
elite unit in the Israeli Defense Forces disunity is known at least publicly
known to operate undercover behind enemy lines now these operations are highly
stressful but you have to remain calm and focused goal-oriented
all the time after that I went to I pursued higher education I did PhD in
biomedical engineering and postdoc in England and at Imperial College and then
moved to the US and ran a couple of medical device startups here mainly
focus on neurology brain implants and neurology technologies in 2008/9 the big
crisis I identified a clear need in the marketplace where we as executives or
business owners and so on but also individuals do not respond optimally
let's call it this way to stress so so this is the market niche I'm in and I
developed a mind in control training program
based on my training and the neuroscience knowledge that I gained
over the years and the goal is simple to change our habitual emotional response
to stress and remain calm focused and goal-oriented under everyday stress
that's that's the goal and I love that because for us you know goal setters
dreamers entrepreneurs this stress is real and I know I mean I know that
sometimes it can be just as real as if we are like in a war zone or something
like that our mind can can have that impact on us and and then that's why I
brought you on today's stress importance across across our life even during our
sleep or it impacts our sleep I always tell my clients if you go to sleep tired
you had a stressful day so so but before we go there what we need to understand
is the neuroscience of stress so at least we don't have the time to go
through the whole thing but at least couple of key points if we understand
how we respond to stress in terms of the neuroscience of stress it would be much
easier for us to say why is it why does it affect us so so greatly across
because I not only health so we have the prefrontal cortex now that you we are
all listening to each other and calm and focused that's where the control is
that's where judgment is formed that's thinking planning it also controlled the
prefrontal cortex also controls our impulses and emotions and regulates our
behavior however when we are triggered and we are not going to go into
understanding why we are triggered we call it's again that's outside what we
are trying to achieve today but when we are triggered then we are impacted by
stress a completely different part of the brain it's called up the amygdala
hijacks control from the prefrontal cortex the amygdala does not does that
by suppressing it's not asking hey will you let me control no it hijacks control
from the prefrontal cortex and it does that by suppressing its activity through
through different chemicals and hormones essentially what
happens then is that we are robbed of our ability to think clearly that's very
important to understand the amygdala is primarily associated with emotions and
especially with fear is I'm sure some of you know in other words for as long as
the amygdala is in control we feel threatened and we will respond to these
perceived threats being real or not usually they are not practically under
amygdala control we become emotionally driven so that's one point that we need
to keep in mind that we are not ourselves and we can't think clearly and
we will respond emotionally another point which is very important is the
response time this is something people do not pay much attention to so for
example amygdala will hijacked within point seventy four of the millisecond
that's 1,000 of a second boom your stress stress hormones will be released
in the brain and into the bloodstream however when we are talking about
recovery in other words cleansing and clearing the blood from this excess
stress hormones it takes anywhere between 18 minutes and 4 hours now it's
a huge range and we will understand that brings me to the next point I wanted to
share during this time during this recovery time we are stress sensitive we
are very likely to because we continue to perceive the world as you know
threatening place and therefore the statement of stress breeds stress is
very true because during this 18 minutes if I'm calm and focus okay I'll recover
and go back to clear thinking but if not it's very likely that the 18 minutes
with another stress trigger think about arguments I say something someone else
says something else and boom we are both amygdala hijack so that the more we
continue this discussion the longer it will take us to recover so how does this
amygdala hijacking process impact us and I'll come to answer your question it
translate into a sense of cloudiness inability to form an objective opinion
difficulty in planning ahead making logical decision now edge so that the
emotional inclination and you have the perfect storm a person who perception of
reality is one of being threatened it's very applicable to any one of us who is
starting a business or looking for another project or job hunting or will
go over hopefully a couple of examples later but that you know we don't
perceive the world in in an objective man we can't we simply can't so if we go
into answering your question where we started so let's take relationships for
example and that can be personal can be at work and how many times we say
something that we were sorry for is you know a split second later boom that's a
middle hijack or we heard someone else's feeling because a knee-jerk reaction or
we became emotional because something somewhat told us these are classic
response to stress in other words someone something happened I was
triggered and I respond him emotionally I lack the the clarity or another
example let's take work doesn't matter whether you are the boss or you're
working with someone else we stressed out because deadlines deadlines are you
know an amazing stress or the fact that we set ourselves to deadlines that
that's something else so I'm not suggesting we we change we push the
deadline no but we need to look at it from an objective way without the
emotion or competition performance demands from management how many times
something a colleague said that all the sangre they responded emotionally we
respond emotionally so and I want to add something that as entrepreneurs we all
you know go through and and this is more the personal level so we find ourselves
many times engaged in thinking the worst case scenario which is fine I mean we
need to look at the different spectrum of options however we usually go wrong
and that's an internal hierarchy we become emotional about that although the
worst case scenario and what will I do then and
engage in the five percentile of what may have unusually unlikely to happen
because usually we know that that's not reality but but then it consumes us and
we get stressed and we lose interest in the project and so on so so stress
impacts every aspect of our lives and it's important to deal with it in to
deal with it and definitely delivered it in a different way in a key word that
you said and this is something that I really like to focus on in my own
business if you said our habitual habitual response meaning we've made
this habit meaning it's a habit and it's a habit that can be broken so sometimes
we think well that's just what happens you know what I mean like I when I have
a lot of things to do you get stressed and we've almost made it permissible you
know it's almost been like that's just the way it works so it's very important
to note that it's a habit then a habit can replace with another habit and now
we have a different response and if we have a different response in which we
can create a bit more clearly think things better on our feet be more calm
then we have a different reality of what is possible for us because we're
responding in a different way correct so yeah so I love that you said
habitual response because I find that to be very important habitual to me means
it can be changed so so let's go let's go into that like what are what are some
stress management solutions like what what can we do I can this really be
change is that really possible because I feel like there's a lot of people
sitting there like no I just stress it's just what I do
well what is your response to that so so you you nailed it you said it's habitual
and we have focused on the emotional component it may be that your habitual
response is logical make sense but once the emotions chime in or being added by
the amygdala then things go suck so so yes the the goal of the
the training program is to train you to replace and it's the the neuroscientific
term is over right one memory with another again I don't want to go there
but we are talking about memory reconsolidation
concept and so on and so forth so yes your hand except correct we can replace
one with another and that's what the training does and it does it repeat you
repeatedly up to the point that it's second nature and then you can go on and
continue by yourself I want to use you mentioned you asked about stress
management so in my views and I think that that's that it makes a lot of sense
stress like time cannot be managed we can't manage time the clock is ticking
there's nothing I can do and the clock will not be impacted I will be impacted
by the clicking so what I can do is manage myself
under the circumstances and with stress it's exactly the same we are out there
we are starting businesses we are working in the world we are interacting
we will be impacted the question is what is your choice how do you choose to be
impacted if you choose to be impacted at all hands say yeah the father of
modern-day stress said this very very nicely he said it is not stress that
kills us but our response to it so we spoke about the health and other aspects
there are a few a couple of stress reducing its call it's not stress my
stress reducing techniques breathing counting going for a walk around the
block you know meditation these solutions are effective and they will
reduce the impact of stress for example they are known to reduce heart rate and
blood pressure and so on but there is nothing that they can do that what they
will do is to keep it more towards the 18 minutes limit so just couple of
limitations there and then and then we'll see what my name control training
does differently so the physiological they they can't with preventive 18
minutes limit the physiologic also the physiological response is there
the body experienced a flash or a blow of stress hormones the damage has been
done what we are trying to do is prevent the
18 minutes and also so we don't go there at all and of course to avoid the the
health and mental and emotional impact of flashing the body time and time again
now remember we are not stressed once a day and that's it this I have clients
that walk around stress throughout the day I mean this is so that you know
that's that these are two key limitations one more limitations that it
it needs to be repeated you need to apply this is not long-term solution
every time I'm stressed I need to start breathing and so on so for so that's
exactly what mine in control will do training will do for you it will change
your habitual just like I was trained it will change your habitual response to
stress so that you avoid the mental and emotional physiological impact of stress
okay so so that's how it differs that's how mine and control differs is that you
avoid it instead of just kind of reducing the impact that is that the
difference correct you I the training will train you to we focus on it as a
trigger on one trigger by the way they proper training the the my these are
called mind tools I'll get to that in a second but these tools that you learn
can be applied we focus on one aspect or one one stress or but these can be
applied across the board it's not only limited to work it's not only limited to
a person you can apply them across the board but yes it's the the key
difference is that we prevent we change your memory we change our response to
stress and therefore you prevent the you bypass the whole the whole 18 minutes
limitation that's amazing and you know and of course of course I need to ask
you there's a tidbit that you could that you could teach us
for before we go into that little tidbit that you could just teach us that we
have something now until we can get to one of your programs or you know one of
one of your events can you just let me know how it's worked for some of your
clients in the past like what differences you've seen some of the
results a hundred percent so let's briefly see the origins are there where
do we come from so you know when you operate undercover
the behind enemy lines you can't tell you enemy wait a second Maya Miguel are
just hijacked can you give me come back in a team I mean that doesn't work yeah
you have to you have to respond immediately remain calm and focused so
that that's you know that that's how I was trained and that's the focus of the
training so I'll say just a few a few words about the actual training and then
and then so we speak once a week for an hour and we learn mine too usually mine
too the week the first cup of meetings is is is really focused on basic mind
tools and identifying this is very important for all of us identifying that
we are stressed usually we wake up way later in the way later can be thirty
seconds later but remember the timeline I mean it's it's it's it's less than one
millisecond to to have this experience of stress so it's very important to
understand how each one of us respond to stress once we know that then we
practice and we practice just like I was trained in real time and the real
pressure if there is someone in the office who bothers you you have to talk
to them and you go back again and again and again until this becomes second
nature will you hey was IA tone stressed about this person was stressful we so
these are the mind tools we don't speak about the past we these new needs to go
over the history simply because I'm going to change your response so it's
not going to bother you anymore why spend time and money on in other aspects
that I adopted from from my training I can I can share with you a couple of
examples I had a very trying to be very brief one client that recently that was
in the real estate business and he had very tough competition and he was
focused on his competitors and how unfair it was he was right by the way
they weren't doing fair so to speak and he became angry and he's focused all his
energy and time on blocking them because he became emotional by the way I agreed
with him on an emotional level I identified with him it's not fair that
that's not how business should work but hey you have the business do you want so
we trained him to put his emotions aside and focus on growth of the business and
as a matter of fact we completely turned him around every time his colleagues on
these are not colleagues these are competitors close the deal he said ok
I'm going to close the next one so he completely turned around 180 doing that
other and and then we stopped training once he knew how to use the mind tools
and how to put his emotions aside and grow from the experience there's no need
for me usually takes we have three nine three six nine and then maybe twelve
points that we stopped so after three weeks we look at changes we expect
change to see changes Gil I think I start to see something I see I start to
see how I change with this client for example I wasn't that angry week six you
you we expect you to see which spec the team to see change in how his wife will
tell him you came you came early today everything is ok in the business oh yeah
I just want to spend time together so we can other people we notice the
difference and by nine week nine we can start to say goodbye you know you have
the my tools you know how to apply them you can fly by yourself another example
and I'll stop there is let me take a non-business example is a woman who
called me there was an issue in the marriage they were
happily married but there was one issue that she couldn't speak to her husband
about it every time she brought it up he became amygdala hijacked
he became emotional so so and she said repeatedly he if he only would change
the way that he speaks about this um so we trained her to ignore the way that he
presented himself and to be businesslike and say things as they are and a couple
of weeks later I mean this issue they were able to it wasn't resolved but they
were able to sit down quietly not triggered and and speak about it and
discuss it so that's what mine in control will do for you it will remove
the emotional component at that whole from the from the from the package and I
love that because as I mentioned earlier if you remove that initial shock in this
and you you're shifting your focus or you're focusing on the wrong things then
that's gonna create more of that you know that you're gonna keep it's a cycle
you know you're just you're creating more and more whereas if you find a
different response you open yourself to a world of infinite possibilities and
now you're growing you know now you're expanding and now you're you're just
creating that space you know for success in whatever way you're looking at
success whether it's you know being able to talk to your husband or making that
business move or whatever it is but now you're expanding so I love that and
another thing I'm sure we are all just like dying to know one you know one tip
one mind control tip when mind tool as you called it if we could just have that
that would just be amazing you know we're just something that we can put
into our lives and start using it as a practical step 100% so you know what I
can share with it with a limited time so here is because this again this is we
just touched the tip of the iceberg here so I'll share one of the most basic and
it's it's powerful it's not my to every mind tool has a name and
it's a thought process that you need to follow so this mind tool is called it's
a test okay so let's let's follow just briefly how it works and then we'll
apply to one or two examples so that will come out of it as soon as you leave
and I guarantee as soon as we leave the room there is a stressor waiting outside
and boom it's a test so let's see if we can if you can do that so how do you say
so so there are two steps the first thing and again I know we didn't cover
this how do you wake up to the point that you understand hey I'm stressed
usually we do it late but even if you are late in the process you are not at
the second one or two of the 18 minutes you are at minute 9 it doesn't matter
still and you'll get earlier you you will wake up early and early as you go
along so I would like you to do two things
first of all it's mine very important this is not like a big silly smile no
smile hey I got this I got that and there is a
neural reason for that as well and then you tell yourself it's a test and let's
go through one or two examples of so for example you are discussing something
with someone and they and they said something that caused your amygdala to
hijack okay so now you are angry you're frustrated you're sad yeah whatever
range of you're anything but happy yes so at that point in time what I need
you to do is to follow these two steps first of all you smile the second is you
tell yourself it's a test and here is the test this is what the test is all
about can I focus on them can i this is a test can I leave my
emotions alone for a second and focus on how they feel now remember this is not
we are moving away from our emotions it's not a way to be develop being
compassionate that I'm not interested in that although this is very nice what we
are interested in is moving away and let these emotions subside and start to
develop some logical thinking as to the next step can be why I said that
well draw them to tell me that so you're already one step removed from from
amygdala control and one step closer to prefrontal your thinking said that what
did I do to start and and so on so so that's that's one thing by the way this
smile maybe I'll give another example this smile is very important no
scientific research shows and a couple for hunting very interesting articles
show that a smile even a fake smile let alone the one that we are say hey I got
this this is this is good I'm getting better I'm growing I'm changing impacts
the brain it's it releases some chemicals that are coming ourselves down
and through the vagus nerve that goes from the brain down to the digestive
system comes the digestive system as well where i mewn system is so smiling
in general is very healthy but that's the way 80% of my immune system is in
the gut and when we are stressed and make the hijacking the the body
naturally these stress hormones shuts down literally shuts down the blood
supply to the digestive system you figure it out you know how what the
impact is so let's take another of that let's say that you have a flat tire it's
the evening it's end of a long day you are tired no the last thing you need now
is a flat tire so emotions of course you own an emotional roller coaster why this
happens to me what this I knew it will and so on so forth but I'm asking you to
do is to stop and smile and tell yourself it's a test and the test this
time is different the test now is how quickly can I spring to action and do
something about it because no one will come here unless I make a phone call no
one will come is sitting there and crying and being upset and calling your
friends to tell them about this flat tire you're stuck you want to do is to
spring to action so moving away from these emotions into
action is it's a test how quickly can I become efficient effective address this
even if it's a phone call away to friend hey can you come and help me or you know
what I had was a long day I'll call the towing company and I'm going to
Starbucks to have a coffee so you know these are two examples and you can apply
it across the board the idea is to move away from your emotions into jinyu the
growth and and and become better business people but essentially that's
the that's the basics yeah and I love that and I love that because
I know in my industry ok say I speak to a lot of entrepreneurs they speak to a
lot of dreamers and a lot of them have a certain response to certain things for
example a big one is sales you know putting yourself online out there and
being on social media and pitching your services could be very stressful because
there's some there's always like an emotional reason of why like I I don't
think I'm good enough or who's gonna want this or I feel like that I'm
bothering you or I feel so I hear this all the time that I feel if we could
change that you know and that's something that I do in my business if we
could change that that responds to I'm scared or I don't want to put myself out
there or that's too big of a thing for me
if we can change that and that liberates that person to be able to put themselves
out there you know it's like and again once you do that then an infinite you
know infinite amount of possibilities open themselves and now now you're
you're running at your potential but or you were being cut off somewhere due to
something that's emotional you know due to that like you said may not even
happen and that's a PI a 5% chance that may not even happen
so I absolutely love this and I know that we could probably talk about it you
know until you know four days we could really talk about this for days so if
people would want to get ahold of you and want to know more about your work
and where could they find you like I you said you know no social media so where
could we find you sure so first they they can call me through the web sites
so it's mind in control dot net and just go through
or more of the corporate side is executive mind matrix dot com matrix with
an x so they can contact me through through that they can text me
six seven eight four eight zero nine nine nine six usually very available I
don't know if that's the right way to say but I'm very good at responding one
thing that I wanted to mention is that on the twenty-fifth it's a Sunday 25th
of February I'll be at the run a workshop together with the hippocrattes
Health Institute in West Palm Beach they we've done it in the past and responses
were amazing I mean they are focused on stress impact through food so the the
joint venture ease is very interesting for me so this will be a mind in control
workshop only and they will with raw foods and so it'll be very very nice so
that's again that's on the 25th of February you can contact anyone who is
interested can contact them directly or ask me for information but that that's a
very exciting that's the next workshop yeah not exactly how I found you just
because it just seemed absolutely amazing and I love you know the
hippocratic Institute it's just I it's a great combination so you said that's
that's great hopefully I can make it out there myself
so so see you then is there anything else that you'd like to add before we
head out it's very important to remember that it rings as you said it brings a
completely different perspective overlap you you can you can run a business and
you can be successful and you can go through the challenges happy so it's
it's not necessarily an integral part I hear from CEOs day-in day-out Gill I'll
do whatever I can I mean I I do my best that's not good enough you can you can
go through the same journey and grow when
and be happy without always the headache and the emotions I love that I truly
love that it's a good way to end it just because it is true we choose to add

Studio G 12- 4 -2017 - Duration: 2:00.
HEY TRIPPSTERS inside Studio G here are the highlights the most important things
that Garth talked about okay he has the number one book the number one tour and
the number one song right now oh my god that just Wow okay I mean the tour is
rather obvious over six million tickets sold but come on for Mitch Roselle the
guy that wrote ask me how I know this has got to be a dream come true because
ask me how I know is the number one song in the country right now oh my god this
little guy is just blown away okay and yes Garth did have Mitch on there and
they talked he asked him questions and and then he answered paying questions
too so I'm just tickled to death because this is probably my favorite song on the
entire Garth album okay it's just wow okay and at the end of inside studio G
Mitch actually sung with just his voice and his guitar part of asked me how I
know that just wow oh my god this little guy is
amazing okay now he Garth also said that him and Trisha are actually currently
working on their first full duet album so guys we are going to get it we don't
know when at this point all we know is yes they are actually working on it but
that was everything of any true importance that Garth talked about on
inside studio G this week and that is going to do it for now this
is Icepets Queen and I am tripping out

How A CPU Works (Hardware + Software Parallelism) - Duration: 8:38.
Hi, thanks for tuning into Singularity
Prosperity. This video is the third in a
multi-part series discussing computing.
In this video, we'll be discussing
classical computing, more specifically -
how the CPU operates and CPU parallelism.
[Music]
In the previous video in this series we
discussed the shrinking of the
transistor, allowing for more powerful
and efficient computers, as well as the
end of Moore's Law based on the
miniaturization of the transistor within
the next seven to ten years. Be sure to
check it out for some background context
for this video. Now in that video when
referring to computing performance, we
were focused on classical computing
based on the CPU. Classical computing, is
essentially the digital computer, almost
every computing device on the market
today is a classical computer. Classical
computers operate in serial, in other
words, as mentioned in the first video in
the series, Computing Origins, executing
various instructions extremely fast in
'order', but to the average user it appears to
be running them in parallel, meaning
multiple instructions at a time.
This is due to many hardware and
software optimizations to allow for
asynchronous operation. By the end of
this video the distinction between
parallel and asynchronous operation will
become clear, but first let's see how the
classical computer works. As a disclaimer:
the concepts we will be discussing are
an over generalization of computing
architecture, but for the sake of getting
an abstracted understanding of classical
computing functionality will serve well.
Alright so first let's bring in the
central processing unit, the CPU is the
brains of the computer. Let's also bring
in memory, the RAM, this is where the CPU
accesses stored information it needs. Now
the CPU also has built-in memory, this is
called the cache. The cache is considerably
smaller than the RAM, with sizes ranging
in the order of 32 kilobytes to 8
megabytes. The purpose of the cache is to
give the CPU the information it needs
immediately. The CPU and RAM are separate
objects, so when the CPU needs
information, it takes time, albeit a
very small amount of time to read the
data from the memory.
This time can add considerable delay to
computer operation. With the cache being
right on the CPU reduces this time to
almost nothing. The reason why you don't
need much cache storage is because it
just needs to store little bits of
important information that the CPU will
need to use soon or has been using a lot
of recently. There are various
methods implemented to determine what
goes on to the cache, what should be kept
on the cache and when it should be
written back on to the RAM. In a typical
CPU there are various levels of cache,
each with different read and write times
and sizes, for the sake of simplicity
we'll assume a single cache for our CPU.
So now with the basic components out of
the way, let's get into how the computer
operates. When a CPU executes an
instruction there are five basic steps
that need to be completed:
1) Fetch: Get the instruction from the
memory and store in the cache in some
cases. 2) Decode: Get the appropriate
variables needed for the execution of
the instruction. 3) Execute: Compute the
result of the instruction. 4) Memory: For
instructions that require a memory read/
write operation to be done. 5) Write Back:
Write the results of the instruction
back into memory.
Nearly every instruction goes through
the first three and final step, only
certain instructions go through the
memory steps such as load and stores but
for the sake of simplicity we'll assume
every instruction requires all five
steps. Now each step takes one clock
cycle, this translates to a CPI, clock
cycles per instruction, of five. As a note,
most modern processors can execute
billions of clock cycles per second, for
example, a 3.4 gigahertz processor can
execute 3.4 billion clock cycles per
second. Now a CPI of 5 is very
inefficient, meaning the resources of the CPU
are wasted. This is why pipelining was
introduced, bringing asynchronous
operation into computing. Pipelining
essentially makes it so each step can be
executed in a different clock cycle,
translating to 5 instructions per 5
clock cycles, or in other words, one
instruction per clock cycle, a CPI of 1.
Essentially what pipelining does is take
the segmented steps of an instruction
and execute them in each clock cycle,
since the segmented steps are smaller than
the size and less complex than a normal
instruction, you can do the steps of
other instructions in the same clock
cycle. For example, if a step for one
instruction is fetching the data, you
could begin decoding another, executing
another, etc - since the hardware involved
for those steps isn't being blocked.
Superscalar pipelines add to this
performance further. Think of pipelines
as a highway, now typical lane in the
highway can execute one instruction per
clock cycle. With superscalar processors
you add more lanes to the highway, for
example, a 2 wide superscalar also
referred to as a dual issue machine, has
a theoretical CPI of 1/2, two
instructions per clock cycle. There are
various other methods implemented to
make the processor CPI more efficient,
such as: unrolling loops, very long
instruction words [VLIWs] - which are
essentially multiple instructions
wrapped into one larger instruction,
compiler scheduling an optimization -
aallowing for out of order execution and
more. There are also many issues that
come along with pipelining that decrease
CPI, such as: data hazards, memory hazards,
structural hazards and more. All these
topics are beyond the scope of this
video, but mentioned to satisfy curiosity
if you wish to know more about them.
So at this point, we now know about the
basic design of a CPU, how it
communicates with memory, the stages that
it executes instructions in, as well as
pipelining and superscalar design. Now
instead of imagining all of this as a
single CPU, let's take it further, all
this technology can be embedded on a
single core of a processor. With multiple
cores, you take the performance of a
single core and multiply it by the core
count, for example, in a quad core by four.
Multiple cores also have a shared cache
as a side note.
The use of superscalar pipelines as well
as multiple cores are considered
hardware level parallelism. The computer
industry after years of stagnation is
now beginning to divert more focus to
hardware level parallelism, by adding
more cores to processors. This can be
demonstrated by consumer processors like
AMDs Threadripper line and Intel's i9
processor line, with core counts ranging
from 8 to 16 and 10 to 18 respectively.
While these may be their higher end
consumer processor, even the low and mid
end processors from i3, i5 and i7 are
getting buffs, with core counts ranging
from quad, hex and octa core. As a side
note, supercomputers are the best
examples of utilizing hardware
parallelism. For example, Intel's Xeon Phi
and AMD's Epyc processors have core
counts ranging from 24 to 72! With
supercomputers having tens of thousands
of processors with them. Now there's
one key component that is required in
tandem with hardware parallelism to
truly use all the resources efficiently,
software parallelism. This leads us to
the final topic in classical computing
will cover, hyperthreading also referred
to as multithreading. Instead of being
implemented as hardware parallelism this
is used as higher level software
parallelism.
Think of a thread as a sequence of
instructions, now with single-threading,
that sequence of instructions just flows
through the pipeline as normal. However,
with multi-threading, you can segment
your application into many threads and
specifically choose how you want to
execute them. Multi-threading can
significantly increase computing
performance, by explicitly stating what
CPU resources you want to utilize and
when. For example, for an application, the
user interface, GUI, can be executed on
one thread while the logic is executed
on another. This is just one example of
many instances where multi-threading can
be used. Now multi-threading can't just
be used for every application. Since
classical computing isn't intrinsically
parallel, there can be a lot of issues
with concurrency, or in other words,
when multiple threads are executing at
the same time but depend on the result
of each other. Thus, some applications end
up being only single threaded. However,
many individuals and groups are working
on ways to best utilize hardware
parallelism through new software
practices and rewriting old software. For
example, the latest Firefox updates now
are bringing in multi-threading. Also
some of the most computationally
intensive tasks by default excel at
multi-threading, such as: video editing,
rendering and data processing - to list a
few. Also as exemplified by the gaming
industry, a lot of games are now moving
into multi-threaded performance.
[Music]
So, in summary, classical computing is
asynchronous not truly parallel.
Instructions are still executed in
serial, but through the use of hardware and
software level parallelism, maximize the
utilization of the resources of the
computer, making them execute extremely
fast; giving the illusion of parallel
operation. Also if you want a deeper look
into how the CPU works, I highly
recommend you check out the two videos

Tanki X Developer's Diary #42 - Duration: 4:48.
Greetings, tankers!
Today, we'll be telling you about the recent and future updates.
We'll also be telling you a bit about the contests
that we are planning to run during the winter holidays.
Let's go!
Last week, we released one of the long-awaited features, Squads.
The development of this feature lasted about 2 months
and it has affected many other features of the game
such as matchmaking and interface.
In order to fix issues that can't be tested in an offline environment,
the development team released the feature a bit earlier than planned.
This has surfaced a number of bugs related to the functionality of this feature
and issues with the balance of squads in battles. We will continue to work on fixing them.
We also had a few technical difficulties during last weekend.
For a couple of hours, our players couldn't connect to the game servers.
The main issues are now fixed.
Those who were unable to play Tanki X during last weekend,
can make up for those hours during the upcoming weekend.
On December 9th and 10th, we will be increasing the rates
for experience points earned in battles!
Additionally, we would like to thank players
that are reporting issues and bugs on our Echo support site.
This allows us to resolve any problem with the game, in record time.
New elements were added to the battle interface last week.
These new elements represent text feedback of your actions,
such as points for healing allies, points for delivering and returning the flag,
as well as points for killing enemies and assisting a kill in a battle.
Please share your opinion about the updates we released last month
in the regular survey that we create and send to our players at the end of every month.
The link is in the description.
Almost a week ago, we added indicators for the location of each flag base
as well as flag location when the flag is being carried.
It should now be much easier for the new comers
to find their way around in this mode,
especially if they're unfamiliar with our maps.
We've made progress on the destruction physics of more skins as well.
The First line of skins, just like the standard one,
now has a cool destruction animation.
If you set your graphics settings to medium or higher
and you equip a skin from the 0 or I skin line,
upon being destroyed, your tank will scatter into pieces,
in a very cool way.
We added a teleportation effect to the daily bonuses submenu.
Additionally, when teleporting a container, or getting the last needed container shard,
the "Claim the reward" button will transform into the "Claim the container" button.
Pressing the button will automatically take you
to the container section of the store,
where you can open the container.
Upon exiting the game, you will now be notified about the rewards
that will be available for teleportation the next day.
The work on improving the interface of the game
is going according to our plan.
Next, is the modules menu.
Our plan is to simplify the process of installing modules on turrets and hulls.
In order to install a module, you will need to either drag and drop it in the slot
or double click the module.
Upon hovering over the upgrade button with the mouse cursor,
you will see how much the upgrade will improve the characteristics of your turret or hull,
as well as the module itself.
Clicking on the question mark will show detailed information about the module.
You will be able to equip the module on any of your presets, in the same menu.
Oh and by the way, we are designing 3D models for the modules.
They will look similar to the current blueprints that drop from containers.
Coming up, in December, our development team
will continue working on improving the matchmaking system, the ranking system,
and the interface.
They will also be getting ready for a very important release this month.
The next episode of our developer's diary will be released closer to New Year's Eve.
During this period of time, we're planning on running two live stream events.
If you don't want to miss any of them, always check our website for news
and follow us on our social media pages.
Christmas and the New Years are drawing close!
The first round of contests is scheduled to already start next week.
We highly recommend you to participate!
Why? We're running a huge X-crystals holiday raffle,
just like last year.
Participating in contests will not only increase the fund of this raffle
but will also earn you special points.
The higher the number of points, the higher the chance of getting
awesome prizes in the holiday raffle.
Winners will be announced on January 9th.
We will have a lot of contests of many tastes.
We will tell you more about them in the announcement next week.
That's it for today, guys!
Subscribe to our channel and like our video.
Bye!
