The White House says the United States... is looking forward to taking part in the 2018

PyeongChang Winter Olympics,... and has NO plans of pulling out of the competition.

The clarification comes as there was some confusion on the matter,... with the American

ambassador to the UN saying...

U.S. participation was an open question... that needed to be discussed.... given the

tensions with North Korea.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has tweeted... that the U.S. is looking

forward to participating in the upcoming PyeongChang Games.

She added... the protection of Americans traveling to Korea was a top priority for the administration...

and that it was working with Seoul's government to ensure their safety.

However,... the message from the White House ran contrary to a statement from Nikki Haley...

the American ambassador to the United Nations.

Haley,... in an interview with Fox News,... said there were questions surrounding whether

or not U.S. athletes would travel to South Korea,... amid escalating tensions with North

Korea.

(English) "There is an open question - I have not heard

anything about that, but I do know that in the talks that we have had, whether it's Jerusalem,

whether it's North Korea, it's always about how do we protect the U.S. citizens in the

area."

The U.S. Olympic Committee also released a statement... in an attempt to clear up any

confusion,... saying no discussions have taken place... on the possibility of abstaining

from the Winter Games.

The U.S. Olympic Committee is a government-chartered,... but fully independent entity that is not funded

by the federal government... and has the final say on the athletes' participation.

For now, the U.S. is planning to send more than 200 athletes to the Olympics,... where

the venues lie just 80 kilometers south... of the demilitarized zone.

Agriculture is the basis of human life.

However many people do not truly appreciate the value of agriculture,

and I want to change this mindset.

My name is Lee Chia Han. I live in Madou district in southern Taiwan.

I used to work as a chef in the city.

Madou is an important pomelo producing region, life here is closely related to this industry.

I quit my job six years ago and moved back to my home town,

in order to take over the orchard left behind by my grandmother.

I was thinking, since I was running an agricultural business, I wanted to do it in a way that has never been done before.

I wanted to create new values in the industry.

I hoped to steer away from the traditional method of relying on chemical fertilizers, pesticides and weed killers.

I felt that we had to find a way of growing pomelo that would be respectful to the land.

This method of cultivation that encourages coexistence with nature and the environment was

initially rejected by other farm owners in the region and even invited their criticism and objection.

But I remained undaunted.

I continued to learn, research and experiment on what I felt was the proper method of cultivation.

This was definitely not a challenge that I could easily accomplish on my own.

Fortunately I had the support of my family, close friends and acquaintances who gave me the motivation to persevere.

I want to share with others my past experience so that the industry will continue to prosper and develop.

I hope my efforts will help create a new image for the agriculture industry.

I want to help more people understand how precious the earth is.

To this end, I will devote my entire life to cultivating pomelo.

Agriculture plays an indispensable role in sustaining human life,

and my mission is to allow people to understand its true value.

Nigeria veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has revealed that he did not have time for women as a youth because of poverty.

The actor in an interview with BROADWAY TV said he was busy trying to make money and as a result, had no time for women.

"I grew from below the scratch; poverty was part of me when I was small and if you grew through poverty, you won't have interest for the flashy things of life.

"You can only look the way of a woman and talk to a woman when there is something in your pocket but the pocket was always dry that you trekked whenever you wanted to go.

"What time would you have to look at a woman?".

He, however, said he got married as soon as he was financially stable and brags about his five children doing well in their academic career.

He advised his colleagues in Nollywood not to go into politics as it is not only a dirty business but a stinky one.

Waffle House Customer Cooks His Meal While Employee Sleeps - 4K News - Duration: 2:03.

This is Satire Station, and I'm your host Jay Charles.

Recently a man in South Carolina had to fend for himself when he entered a Waffle House.

This is because when he arrived at the restaurant he noticed the only employee on duty was sleeping

at a table, so the customer had no other choice but to make his own food in the kitchen.

The customer, Alex Brown took several pictures throughout his adventure at Waffle House.

Alex said quote "That's when I got hot on the grill with a Texas bacon cheese steak

melt.

The employee didn't wake up the entire time.

And no one came inside the restaurant" end quote.

Later in the day Alex returned to the Waffle House to pay for his food.

Waffle House said in a statement quote "We are reviewing this incident and will take

appropriate disciplinary action.

In a related note, obviously Alex had some cooking skills, and we'd like to talk to

him about a job since we may have something for him" end quote.

I wonder who's job he might be getting.

Additionally in the news, a driver in the State of Texas was recently fined because

they used a mannequin in their car to cheat the carpool lane on the highway.

The mannequin was placed in the passenger seat of the vehicle looking extremely fashionable.

It was wearing sunglasses, cherry red lipstick, a zip-up sweater, and a blonde wig.

The county deputies weren't fooled though, and pulled over the driver for breaking the

rules.

The police's Facebook page said quote "This mannequin may have saved the driver on time

and $3.20 toll fee today, but it will cost her a day of work and up to $150 in legal

fines" end quote.

Which makes one realize, the dummy wasn't just sitting in the passenger seat.
