hey everyone it's sarah from sarahtypes.com today I'm going to show you how to

create your own chalkboard sign first this is what you'll need the Stabilo

water-soluble pencil. this is a better alternative to chalk and I'll explain

why later, you'll need some masking tape to create your guides for your letters

you'll need some chalk to create guidelines that you can wipe away later

and you'll need a damp cloth plus some q-tips to fix any mistakes I've also got

Baker's twine so I can create a circle for my wreath easily so you'll need to

have a sketch of what you're going to chalk out beforehand so it makes the

chalk process a lot quicker and a lot easier. mine is from a client and this

is what they requested so I gave them a few ideas this is the one they chose so

I'm going to take this and create this on the chalkboard, first I've grabbed

my Baker's twine and just by eyeballing the center of my chalkboard I cut it to

that size and then I added a piece of chalk to the end and I'm just going to

pull it taut and then use the chalk and draw a circle while keeping my left hand

steady the first try wasn't exactly perfect so I just made it a bit shorter

and tried again so I could fit it in the whole way around it doesn't have to

be perfect this is going to be a wreath so for this

instance it's not going to be an exact circle it's going to be a little bit

more natural like a wreath is so it'll be a little bit more forgiving as far as

not having it a perfect circle

I'm now grabbing my masking tape because I'm going to plan out where I'm

going to put my three lines of words and you can definitely grab a ruler I

suggest grabbing a ruler if this is your first time and using some math to plan

out especially if you have a lot to put in there but mine's pretty

straightforward and I like to eyeball things so I'm just going to do that from

the look of the proportions, I also have

tape around the side so I know how far I can go and where I should start and then

I'm going to take my Aqua Stabilo pencil and really lightly just draw out the the

whole drawing, the letters and the banner and make it so that it's very very light

so if I make any mistakes I can just go in and erase them easily and then I can

just go over it when I'm ready and make it a lot heavier and the reason why I

suggest using this pencil is because it does provide that look of chalk but the

pencil is much easier to use because it has a nice fine tip similar to a regular

pencil it isn't messy because it has the normal pencil feel to it so you don't

have to worry about getting your hands full of chalk, also it doesn't rub

away easily if it accidentally got pressed up against your clothes or you

want to erase mistakes it won't just rub away easily with a cloth to remove this

it's best to use a damp cloth and then that will get rid of it so as I go along

I'm removing tape where my letters might drop below the base line

but I'm leaving the tape for the rest of the word so that I can make sure it's

all on the same base line

so for this part I wanted to kind of create a some kind of 3d dimension to

my letters so to do that I am just taking a q-tip and making it damp so

it's not super wet and I'm just kind of moving around the pencil and erasing a

little bit of it on the bottom halves of the letters for Christmas just to give

it a little bit more interest

so now the lettering is done I'm gonna move on to the wreath so to make the

circle part look more wreath like I'm just gonna kind of go in and add more

lines to it some heavier lines some thinner lines just thicken it up and

make it look more like branches by adding lots of sketch lines

and because I'm working on a small board I don't have to move my whole body

to get to a section of the piece I can just pick up my board turn it around and

work on the part that I am working at also in the beginning I actually use chalk

to create the outer circle so it is under there and it's probably covered by

the soluble pencil but in the end I'll just

take a dry cloth and then just kind of clean up

the whole board just in case there's some chalk dust and then some chalk from

the circle and then just make sure that it still looks good once the guides are

removed but it's really easy just to softly go over it with a dry cloth and

get rid of any of the original chalk guides so to complete the wreath I'm

first drawing out the outlines for the leaves and the branches and once I'm

done the outlines I'm going to go in and shade them in using some lighter and

darker techniques

so while I'm finishing this wreath I'm just gonna do a recap of everything that

I've done I first started by creating my circle or outer guide line with my chalk

pen with my actual chalk so that I can easily erase it later and then I went in

with a masking tape to create guidelines for my text and then I went in with my

aqua soluble pencil and very lightly put in the letters to make sure that I have

enough room and they were written nicely and then once I was happy with that I

used the aqua soluble pencil to draw those guides but much heavier once

everything's done I take a dry cloth and just kind of wipe it across to get any

of the chalk dust and also use a q-tip to erase any of the aqua soluble pencil

These Scientists Chase Volcanic Eruptions Because We're So Bad at Predicting Them - Duration: 3:33.

The obvious danger, when you're working on a volcano, is dying.

We know that at any point things could go south in a bad, bad way.

We take respirators to deal with poisonous gases,

we take hard hats to deal with small ejecta from the volcano

...but there's only so much you can prepare.

When I've stood at the rim of an active volcano, I feel like I'm getting a window

inside the heart of our planet.

It's like looking into something from another world.

That is when you can get really great data

about the chemistry of the lava, about the makeup of the gases,

about how explosive the lavas might be,

and about how much pressure you're seeing in the magma chamber.

More people than ever before are living in areas that are volcanic hazards.

We have millions and millions of people who live around these amazing things, but that are also deadly.

My work involves looking at volcanoes in every different way you can imagine, to try to understand

what makes them tick, and help me someday predict how they're going to erupt.

I mean, that's really the holy grail of volcano research,

because we really want to save lives.

Field work when you're studying volcanoes is different every single time.

First you've got to get to the area, and that may mean taking a helicopter in,

it may mean hiking through jungle-like vegetation or tromping through a desert.

Volcanoes are unpredictable, and that is because we don't have a good window inside of them.

It's not like you can drop a little robot down and have it measure everything that's going on.

What we're really looking for when we're out there collecting data

is information that shows a change.

Is the composition of the gas different?

Do we see that the volcano is inflating?

Is the ground actually moving up or moving down as the magma chamber fills or evacuates?

A volcano could be building up pressure inside of it without any outward indications.

We make hazard maps, we look at old lava flows, map out where the lava has gone previously,

and then say, "okay, worst case scenario, what could this volcano do?"

A lot of the data that we collect when we're out in the field is used to make models

and help to try to forecast eruptions.

We can't do that yet with any degree of certainty, but we're getting better.

There have been many deaths, actually, of volcano scientists while working on active volcanoes,

and it's very sad.

But we're prepared to take that risk, because we think that what we're doing brings value

to our greater society around us, and we want to add to

that body of knowledge out there about our planet.

All of us have a really healthy respect for all the different parts of the natural world.

It's some sort of hell-scape, but it's also beautiful.

The lava is this brilliant, brilliant red and orange and it's constantly moving.

It never stops. It's like an angry ocean.

You get to see the freshest earth on the planet.

So it really, to me, shows in the clearest possible way that we have a living planet.

And that is why I love it - that's why I keep coming back.

Easy Ultra Glam Holiday Look 2017 - Duration: 9:27.

ohhhh the weather outside is.......moderate because I live in the south.

Hellooo Sunshines!

So the holiday season is here despite the fact that it may still be sixty degrees outside.

Hey no compaints here.

So I wanted to show you guys one of my favorite go to looks for holiday parties, dates nights,

or any time you want to feel a little bit festive.

Or you could just me like me and wear a full face of makeup at home, by yourself, at 11am

on a Tuesday.

Ok so im gona start off by using the Becca Backlight Priming Filter.

I love how this primer gives a soft dewy look to my skin and helps you look like a radiant

glowing Christmas elf.

Instead of a grumpy over worked normal human with angry skin because.... winter time.

Theeen Im gona use my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Natural Beige.

This has been one of my number one go to foundations for the last year now because it gives me

really full coverage without ever looking cakey.

Ok then your going to conceal don't feel with a little Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

That way you don't let them know.

Oh shoot well I guess now they know.

Anyways just let it go.

I'll stop now.

So im just gona set my concealer and move on to the fun stuff.

Ok so now im gona prime my eyelids and for this entire eye im gona use the cult classic

Naked one palette.

I remember people fighting in the isles of Sephora over the last one the year that this

guy came out.

And While I patiently waited my turn for one I still love it just as much as the first

day I saw it.

This is actually my second one.

Like seriously when do you ever rebuy palettes.

Ok so im just gona take a fluffy brush and apply half baked over my entire lid.

We don't have time for mattes here!

It's the holiday people!

Then im gona take a little smog and apply it to either side rounding it out into a globe

shape at the top of my crease.

Then im gona go a little heavier on the outer corner than the inner cause I don't want it

to be too dark right in here.

Then im just going to blend.

And we'll mirror this on our lower lash line.

Now im gona add just a little dark horse right on the outer corners to add a little bit more

deminsion.

Annnnnd Blend.

Alright so then im gona take virgin which is the lightest shade in this palette.

And just highlight my inner corner and right under my brow bone.

Ok so now im just going to tightline my lashes.

Annd im gona do a thin line with this coal pencil.

Now if you want to be a little extra, which I do.

Im going to put a little bit of this glitter primer on my brush and use some of this makeup

forever diamond powder right in

the center.

Then im just going to pop on some ardell faux mink lashes because they're very glam and

fluffy.

Never do this to somebody elses lashes its disgusting.

Ok so now im gona use a little hula to do a light contour because I have a problem and

I...

I can't put the bronzer down.

If you work hard enough you can shade your double chin right away.

Its gone.

Ok so now im going to use the tinyest amount of Becca blush in Snapdragon.

This is very pigmented so don't use a lot.

So my eyes are sparkly enough for the whole world let alone my whole face buuut im still

gona use a highlighter.

So im going to very sparingly use a Becca highlighter.

That one is so empty and gross.

Im gona use my full one that I haven't even opened yet.

So im going to very sparingly use my Becca Highlighter in Opal because its so pretty.

This is my favoritest shade because its not too silver and its not too gold.

And it just goes perfectly with my skin.

I don't do chin highlighter.

Staunchly against it.

Annd maybe I want some one my inner corner.

Yah.

All the sparkles.

So lastly im gona use Maybellines Super Stay Matte Ink in Pioneer.

because it is the perfect holiday red and I trust this formula not to budge no matter

how merry I may get.

So im going to top it all off by hosing myself down with too faced setting spray because

it does a great job of keeping my makeup on and balancing out my skin while smelling like

coconuts.

I mean you had me at coconuts but if you wanna work really well too awesome im sold.

So that is my go to, easy to do holiday look.

Appropriate for office parties, small intimate gatherings, and all festivus celebrations.

A recently retired State Department Official Mary Doetsch that worked under President Obama

and Hillary Clinton just came forward in a whistleblower report in the Chicago Tribune

on the rampant corruption in the refugee program!

And they wonder why Republicans want reform in the refugee program and enhanced border

security.

It is simply to counter the mistakes and failures of the Obama Administration.

Part of the Doetsch's Letter:

As a recently retired 25-year veteran of the U.S. Department of State who served almost

eight years as a refugee coordinator throughout the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Cuba,

I have seen first-hand the abuses and fraud that permeate the refugee program and know

about the entrenched interests that fight every effort to implement much-needed reform.

Despite claims of enhanced vetting, the reality is that it is virtually impossible to vet

an individual who has no type of an official record, particularly in countries compromised

by terrorism.

U.S. immigration officials simply rely on the person's often rehearsed and fabricated

"testimony."

I have personally seen this on hundreds of occasions.

As a refugee coordinator, I saw the exploitations, inconsistencies and security lapses in the

program, and I advocated strongly for change.

Nonetheless, during the past decade and specifically under the Obama administration, the Refugee

Admissions Program continued to expand blindly, seemingly without concern for security or

whether it served the best interests of its own citizens.

For instance, the legally questionable resettlement of refugees from Malta to the United States

grew substantially, despite the fact that as a European country with a functioning asylum

system, "refugees" should have remained there under the internationally accepted concept

of "the country of first asylum."

Similarly, the "special" in-country refugee programs in Cuba and Russia continue, although

they are laden with fraud and far too often simply admit economic migrants rather than

actual refugees.

The Obama Administration expanded the refugee program without consulting anyone and without

the safety of American citizens as well as their being better places for the refugees

to go!

Obama and Hillary Clinton also worked to counter reform in the vetting process because they

didn't want better vetting!

They don't care about our safety and never have.

The best part is that Doetsch believes in Trump's ban!

This is a woman that has seen first hand the horrible gaps in our refugee and immigration

programs!

Now while Obama and his family enjoy a beach vacation the poor American people are left

to deal with the burden and consequences of Obama's incompetence and seemingly deliberate

actions to allow more and more refugees into our country!
