What's up everybody this is Master Ian Gamer.
With the 2017 Winter Wonderland event coming up in just a few days, I wanted to go over
everything we know as of right now regarding it so that you'll know what to expect and
be prepared to get as much of the new content as possible.
In this video I'll be talking about the event's start date and time, all the known
and speculated upcoming skins, the new and old holiday themed maps, the brand new Yeti
Hunt gamemode, and lastly give you all some tips about how to get the most holiday event
loot boxes!
So without delaying any longer, let's jump on in.
First up is the event's start date and time.
As confirmed by the Twitter teaser last Thursday, Winter Wonderland 2017 will start next Tuesday,
December 12th.
While it doesn't mention the start time, based on past events we can most likely expect
the event to start some time between 10 AM and 12 PM Pacific time.
I'll include some other major time zones on screen for those of you in different regions.
Moving onto the actual content of the event, we have a number of confirmed, speculated,
and possibly even leaked skins.
First is confirmed new Legendary skins for Hanzo, Junkrat, and Roadhog.
Now we haven't gotten any specifics on Junkrat's and Roadhog's skins, however Jeff Kaplan
did confirm in the recent developer update that Hanzo's skin will be the one seen in
the Reflections comic from last year.
And he also confirmed that there will be a lot more skins beyond just these aforementioned
three.
But speaking of the Reflections comic, it's worth mentioning that it also featured a unique
outfit for D.Va.
While there hasn't been any official confirmation or even mention of this skin by Blizzard,
the fact that we WILL be getting Hanzo's comic skin, along with the fact that many
of the Junkenstien's Revenge comic skins ended up being added for the Halloween event,
means that there's a pretty realistic chance for us to get this skin as well.
Also as many of you likely saw, there has been a supposedly leaked Genji skin for this
event.
As of yet the community hasn't been able to confirm or deny this leaks validity, and
personally, I'm leaning more towards the side of it being a fake.
If you want to see my complete thoughts and analysis of this leak, then check out the
card on screen.
And while it hasn't been specifically addressed by Blizzard, we can also expect to have all
the holiday specific content from last year's Christmas event return this year at regular
non-event item prices.
Moving onto the event map reskins, we got confirmation from Jeff that holiday themed
Hanamura, King's Row, and Ecopoint: Antarctica will be returning this year.
In addition to these two, the Black Forest Arcade mode map will also be getting a winter
reskin, although we have yet to get any images of what this will look like.
And speaking of which, Mei's Snowball Offensive has been confirmed to be coming back this
year, and now will take place not only on the holiday Ecopoint: Antarctica map, but
also the new reskined Black Forest.
But, even more exciting than this is the addition of a second, brand new game mode called Mei's
Yeti Hunt.
This is essentially a boss fight mode, where five Meis face off against one Yeti Winston.
Based on how Jeff described it, the Meis must hunt down and kill the Winston, who in turn
is running around the map and trying to collect meat power ups.
After collecting enough, the tides turn as he enters Primal Rage and the the Meis now
have to run and hide from him.
The mode will be set on a modified version of the Nepal map, and overall sounds like
a really fun new mode that I personally can't wait to try out!
Now that I've gone over all the information we have about Winter Wonderland 2017, I want
to share a few tips and good practices to help you get more holiday loot boxes over
the course of the event, and therefore more Legendaries!
The first big tip is to NOT play the Arcade when it resets this Monday.
If you wait until after the event starts on Tuesday, then the three free boxes you get
from playing it will be event ones instead of normals.
And, utilizing this same offset, you can get an extra three free event boxes at the very
end of the event if you cram nine Arcade wins in between the time they reset on that Monday
and the end of the event the following day.
This allows you to get four weeks worth of Arcade boxes from a three week long event.
Additionally, playing the game with a group of any size will give you a 20% experience
bonus after each match.
So, even if you don't have friends to play with, don't hesitate to mash that stay as
team button at the end of each match, because doing so will almost definitely result in
you getting even more loot boxes!
And that will wrap up everything you need 2 know regarding the upcoming 2017 Winter
Wonderland event.
If something else ends up getting leaked or revealed between me making this video and
you watching it, then I'll be sure to make a followup video.

what you're excited for most.
