Waching daily May 12 2017

Most of us have been taught to train by completing all sets for one exercise before moving on

to the next.

Quite monotonous to say the least.

But, there are definitely alternatives.

And one popular alternative is the use of supersets.

No, unfortunately, that doesn't mean doing sets like you have a logo on your chest nor

busting out reps after being bit by a spider.

The concept of supersetting is quite simple: Instead of one exercise with rest in between

sets, you go back-to-back with two exercises with little or no rest in between.

Fittingly, supersets are also known as paired or complex sets.

Now, the type of exercises mixed together matter.

Some suggest pairing two exercises targeting the same muscle group, such as barbell and

preacher curls.

Some suggest pairing one upper body exercise with a lower body exercise, like pull-ups

and goblet squats.

But the most popular type is known as agonist-antagonist paired sets, or in the scientific literature,

APS for short.

In simple terms, it means you train two muscle groups opposite of one another, such as the

biceps and triceps muscles.

One extends the elbow, and the other flexes it.

To do an APS-type superset, you can employ bicep curls with triceps extensions.

Another example would be back rows to train the upper back paired with bench presses to

train the chest.

Now, many people might think supersets are only good because it saves time.

You're essentially cutting your workout time in half by pairing exercises.

But, the big assumption against supersetting is that it won't be as effective as traditional

sets because you will fatigue faster, thus cutting down performance, and ultimately,

cutting down your results.

Well, good thing we have research to shine a light on this.

First, an 8-week study in 2009 found that trained subjects were able to significantly

improve their 1-rep maxes on bench pulls and presses with APS training, whereas traditional

sets saw little improvement.

A 2005 study found that rugby players were able to increase bench throw power by a modest

4.7% with antagonist training, whereas no antagonist training saw zero.

We see more of the same in another study where supersetting resulted in 55% more reps versus

traditional sets in the seated row.

And again, a study on heavy failure training observed supersets achieving 27% greater volume

than traditional sets.

Aaaand one more study found that superset training burned more calories.

So that's benefits for strength, power, muscle growth, and calories burned from supersets

over traditional sets.

And don't forget, all the while they're saving time.

How it actually works is not fully clear, but many believe that it has to do with the

stretch shortening cycle, which is another topic for another day.

But it seems like that initial assumption about how supersets will kill your performance

doesn't really hold much weight.

Now, before you run off and superset all the things, note that it's not so amazing for

all situations.

In fact, it depends.

Where you're best off with supersetting is with accessory or some compound movements.

Where it doesn't fare well are full-body type movements, like Olympic lifts.

In fact, one study even suggest that squats are worse off with supersetting.

And if you think about it, squats can somewhat be seen as a full-body movement with all the

load held on the upper body.

Also, all of these studies show improvements with subjects that have extensive athletic

or training experience.

Beginners might want to limit their supersetting because of their lack of conditioning.

Chances are, beginners will need extra rest to recover metabolically.

And, if you're in a busy gym, you might not have the luxury of space nor equipment

to do two exercises at once without looking like the dude that hogs all the dumbbells

while curling in the squat rack.

But again, the time saving alone should be good enough for you to at least try supersetting

and see what it can do for you.

That means less sitting, and more lifting.

Share your super thoughts on supersets in the comments below.

Top 10 Best Android Apps for May 2017! - Duration: 6:48.

*Music*

Hey Guys Its Sagar from Tecworkz, and welcome to my 5th episode of the best android apps.

Like always in this video, we take a look at the 10 Android apps, that you guys should

definitely try out.

Links to all of the apps mentioned in this video are in the description section.

Before we get started, make sure to hit the subscribe button so you don't miss out on

any of the amazing upcoming videos.

The first app on this list is KeepVid, Its a video downloader app, with a simple

user interface.

You can use this app to download videos from youtube and a lot of other websites as well.

To download a video, just search for the video that you want to download within this app,

and hit the download button on the bottom right corner.

You can download the videos in the resolution that you want and this app also gives you

the option to download just the audio associated with the video file, which is a really good

feature to have.

You can download videos from any of the sites shown here.

If you have the url of the video that you want to download, just past it within this

app and start downloading the video directly.

A huge shout out to the guys at KeepVid for Sponsoring todays video.

Link to download this app is in the description section, go check it out.

2nd in today's list is the wallpaper app Backdrops.

In this app, you also get a lot of high resolution wallpapers to choose from, and it will also

recommend you with a wallpaper of the day.

You can favourite the wallpapers that you like, and the next time you want to choose

from one of them, all you have to do is go to the favourites tab, instead of scrolling

through heaps of wallpapers.

New wallpapers are added daily, so you wont run out of options anytime soon.

If you opt for the Pro version, it doesn't show any ads, and other than just setting

the wallpapers, you can save them to your device as well.

Next is Tholotis, I don't know if this is the right way to say it, but this app is actually

an extension to any wallpaper app that you are using.

It will help you add a blur and dim effect to your wallpapers, if that is something you

are interested in.

I usually like to blur my wallpapers a bit, so that the icons pop out a bit and are easily

visible.

It makes them seem as if they are floating closer to the screen and away from the wallpaper

itself.

You can either add this effect to your current wallpaper or choose a different one from the

gallery.

Once you are done adjusting how you want the wallpaper to look, just hit the right button,

and it saves a new image to your gallery and also sets it as a wallpaper.

This next app is only going be useful for someone who is using the Samsung Galaxy S8

or the S8 Plus.

It's called BxActions.

You guessed it right, it is an app to remap that Bixby button so it can perform multiple

actions.

You can remap the bixby button to do one thing when the phone is locked, and perform another

action when it is unlocked, which i think is very useful.

So the sole function of this app is to essentially allows you to use the Bixby button as a fully

customisable one.

5th on the list is the first game for today, and it's called Chameleon Run.

It was free in the play store for a long time, but Right now its a paid game.

Its a fast and exiting game.

You tap on the left side of the screen to change the colour of your character and make

it land on the same coloured surface, and tap on the right of the screen to make it

jump, while collecting marbles and avoiding obsctracles.

The game gets really tough after a few levels and you will definitely enjoy playing it.

I am not a huge fan of Samsung's Touchwiz UI, They have toned it down with the new user

interface on the S8, but I still like things as close to stock android as possible, and

I also need a bit extra level of customisation.

So Nova launcher is my launcher of choice.

It is one of the first apps that I download when I am using a phone that is not running

stock android.

The main reason why I keep on coming back to Nova launcher is that its light, fast and

offers huge levels of customisation options for you to really fine tune the settings until

they feel right.

It is compatible with just about any theme or Icon Pack out there and now It also gives

you the long press gestures, which is something I have started using a lot since I first used

it on the Pixel XL.

Next app is Cinema FV5.

This app can take your smartphone videos to the next level.

It gives you manual controls over white balance, focus, ISO and exposure.

It also give you features like having a live onscreen histogram while taking videos.

You get to monitor the audio via headphones while the video is being recorded, which is

something that not a lot of apps allow you to do.

The interface is simple and laid out very well, it even shows you the battery level

while you are using this app.

The free or lite version of the app only lets you shoot in upto 720p, but the pro version

lets you shoot in the highest resolution that your smartphone supports, and It also allows

you to choose the codec you want to record in, frame rate of your choice and even the

bit rate of the video.

If you are serious about shooting videos with your smartphone, Give this app a try.

The 2nd game in this list of apps is BLUK.

It is a minimalistic game with a simple objective.

All you have to do is make this block land safely on the next tower, and see how far

you can go doing this.

This sounds simple enough, and for most part it is, but sometimes it seems to get a bit

difficult and you don't manage to get too far ahead in the game.

My high score right now is 77, if you manage to best that, tweet me a screenshot of your

highest score to get a virtual hi five.

Next we have Texpand.

This app allows you to assign shortcuts to the phrases that you type in regularly.

Some of my most used shortcuts are, dd for mentioning todays date, chl to bring up my

channel link, hbd expands to Happy Birthday and so on.

These are the shortcuts that I have added to the app, which makes typing a bit easier

and convenient for me.

You can add in shortcuts for the phrases that you are most likely to use and you can edit

them at any time.

The final app in today's list is Realtime Subscriber Count.

I you are a youtube like me, then you might always be looking at the number of subscribers

that your channel has got.

This app gives you a widget, so that you can always have the updated subscriber count of

your channel right on your home screen.

Its a small, simple but very useful app for creators like me.

Well these have been the 10 Android apps for month of may.

I will be back next month with more great app like these.

Let me know in the comments section, which one of these apps did you enjoy the most.

Also if you have any app suggestions for the next video, again let me know in the comments

section.

Please hit the like button if you enjoyed this video, and subscribe to the channel for

more quality tech videos like this.

You can also check out some of the other videos on this channel.

This has been Sagar, and ill catch you guys in the next video.

Take care.

Citizens United v. FEC - Duration: 6:04.

Mr. Beat Presents Supreme Court Briefs

Washington DC

2007

A self-described conservative non-profit corporation called Citizens United wants to release a documentary.

The film, called Hillary: The Movie, (hey that's a pretty catchy title) talks a bunch of trash about Hillary Clinton, who just so happens to be running for President.

Citizens United wanted to distribute and advertise the film within a month before the Democratic primary elections in January 2008.

However, this would be a violation of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, aka BCRA, aka the McCain-Feingold Act, the latest law that limited how political campaigns were paid for.

BCRA said corporations or labor unions can't spend money from their general treasury to broadcast anything through the mass media that specifically brings up a candidate running for federal office within 30 days of a primary.

Anticipating that the Federal Election Commission, or FEC, might try to stop the release of their documentary,

Citizens United went ahead and took the FEC to the United States District Court, essentially saying "don't even think about it, FEC."

Citizens United claimed BCRA didn't apply to Hillary: The Movie, because the film wasn't clearly for or against a candidate.

It also claimed that the Supreme Court decision FEC v. Wisconsin Right To Life justified them releasing the film within 30 days of the Democratic primaries.

Not only that, but Citizens United argued that portions of BCRA straight up violated the FIrst Amendment to the Constitution.

On January 15, 2008, the three-judge U.S. District Court said "nope, sorry Citizens United."

You can't have your injunction, you gotta let the FEC regulate.

The court said the film was clearly just meant to get people to not vote for Hillary Clinton, I mean...it was called Hillary: The Movie, for crying out loud.

They also said the film was meant to be strategically shown right before the primaries for this purpose

and they cited the Supreme Court decision in McConnell v. FEC as justification that the FEC could prevent the showing up this film.

Citizens United was like you know what? I'm appealing to the Supreme Court.

Now, as you know, this can be a long process.

What ended up happening was Hillary Clinton did not get the Democratic nomination and Barack Obama ended up being elected President later that year.

But that ended up being irrelevant other than the fact that Obama nominated a new justice, Sonia Sotomayor, that agreed with the justice she replaced, David Souter.

Actually, that's kind of irrelevant, too.

Throughout 2009, the Supreme Court heard multiple arguments about the case. The Court had remained very divided on the issue. Things got pretty philosophical.

Finally, on January 21, 2010, the Court ruled 5-4 in favor of Citizens United

arguing that the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment prohibited the government from limiting money spent by corporations, labor unions, and other associations, on political campaigns.

Specifically, we're talking about independent political expenditures, or political campaign contributions not directly affiliated with the candidate.

Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion.

"If the First Amendment has any force, it prohibits Congress from fining or jailing citizens, or associations of citizens, for simply engaging in political speech."

The Court's ruling basically freed corporations and unions to spend as much money as they want to elect or defeat candidates

as long as they didn't contribute directly to candidates or political parties.

The majority also argued that First Amendment protects ASSOCIATIONS of individuals, not just individual speakers, so you can't prohibit speech based on the identity of the speaker.

So corporations have free speech rights just like you or I.

The idea of Corporate Personhood, or the legal notion that corporations share some of the same legal rights and responsibilities held by individuals, had pretty much been established by the Supreme Court since the 1800s.

In this case, the Court definitely ruled that corporations are people man, corporations are people.

Justice John Paul Stevens led the opinion of the dissent.

Stevens was pretty upset about how this one turned out

His dissent was 90 pages, and he passionately summarized it for 20 minutes from the bench.

Stevens later wrote a book explaining that a Constitutional amendment should be passed to make sure money doesn't influence politics, mostly due to this ruling.

Today, Citizens United v. FEC continues to get people fired up

Bernie: If we are going to maintain a true democracy in this country it is absolute imperative that we overturn this disastrous 5-4 Supreme Court decision on Citizens United.

Protesters have passionately spoke out against it, and organizations like Wolf PAC were created in response to the decision.

Just like Roe v. Wade, this is a Supreme Court decision that will be discussed and debated for many years to come.

I'll see you for the next Supreme Court case, jury!

Fixing my Soap Cutter & Log Splitter with Jay Flamenco - Duration: 14:58.

today I'd like to introduce you to my

friend Jay Flamenco! Hello! If you've been

watching my videos for the past couple

years, you may have noticed his beautiful

music in the background. It's me too!

Yes! That would be him and today my

friend Jay has accepted to come show you

how to change a guitar key

from a log splitter or from a soap

cutter, it's the same thing! Also I

receive requests very often, people write

me and ask me where can they buy Jay's

music? Until today it was not

available online anywhere right? mmm!

But now you can buy this CD which is called

"Jay Sensations" Jay sensations, with all

the beautiful music that you've been

hearing on my videos and a couple more

that I haven't had you listen to yet,

from my website! The link will be

below, to the direct link to buy his CD!

Jay will put his guitar aside and we

will show you the log splitter and then

get to changing that key and then also

since I popped a couple wires I'm going

to show you how to change those as well!

The first step would be to remove the

tuning peg from the log splitter and we

just took a little screwdriver from this

kit it's a Stanley but there are cutters

yeah computer mini mini Phillips or mini

star screwdriver okay

just see how hard to just get this off

okay yeah that's a little snug there tix

takes a little bit of a health hardy

twist but it seems to be coming now oh

there's one there's only two screws in

there some believe this one's a little

easier because it access this a little

harder yeah quite hard to get them in

the beginning but one little grace yes

once you got a really push to get it

once you get it going on it comes pretty

good might be able to use one of those

small drills but when it's these really

small screws when it's trip anything

yeah I prefer this screwdriver

so this is the new key and turning back

so we're just going to put this one back

in where the other one was and we're

going to tighten these screws up and

hopefully it's going to work like new

perfect like it should just slide it in

here and it's the exact same one so

these holes I can hold it

sure his holes should line up there you

go that looks pretty close I'll just

pull it back just a second yeah they're

pretty easy there we go yeah yeah it

actually is really easy I was actually

scared to do it and no thanks to you

I'll be able to do it next time in my

own say once you've seen it better once

you know I thought it was gonna be super

complicated or something I won't do this

one too tight so it'll give me a little

space to move that one if I need if need

be so we're just gonna put it in this

hole and tighten it up it seems to go in

there nice and easy there's only two so

I'll tighten this one first nice and

snug there we go good twist on it and

that should do it

whew here are the replacement wires for

the log splitter those are actually

guitar strings I believe they are 19 or

20 - gods and howdy

eustress B strings yeah I just call that

like a knot okay so there's a little

knot at the bottom and in the groove

here there is like a little cylinder

where you can leave your sleeve where

you can snap these into so that's what's

Jay's gonna do right now oops

and this little hole could be a bit of a

challenge okay let me let me get a

close-up so there is a little hole right

here into the HDPE plastic and you gotta

get the wire from underneath up into

that hole oh there we go I'm on this

side of my sure would you like me to

yeah here you go

give it a go oh it's gonna twist here

yeah sure you should know this alright

that twist yeah so now it's all the way

through and now we got to pass it

through this part of the key which is

called in the keyhole I'm not sure what

the technical names for all

parts are I've changed strings for years

and years but so I'm just going to hold

tension on this one so it doesn't slip

out yeah and very good it's okay you can

put it that almost easier to do that

yeah isn't really not good okay so now

what I do is I I hold this you know

summers decide to keep it in place yeah

and then I make I get some excess excess

and then I would just start tightening

yeah that's usually I would I fall I

fold this part so it doesn't okay yeah

to keep it from going back out and then

I just tighten it like yeah just it up

you prefer fatahna can you hold it

inside or the outside oh maybe I'm on

the wrong side because I'm the opposite

side as I do it occasionally yeah it'll

work anyway so I'm gonna pull and give

some tension I'm pulling on the string

to keep attention while tightening which

is wrap domine

I don't know but Lots so I figured and I

tried to do it like wrap less before and

it would come out okay yes you're

putting a lot of pressure you have like

28 pounds of soap going through this

thing so thanks Jay and like there's too

much here so I can cut some off mm-hmm

and then do your little trick yep oops

OOP I messed up he's gonna look like my

hair when it's natural the key has been

replaced both wires have been changed

and I will show you a quick video of

soap going through the log splitter this

is 28 pounds of soap gliding very

smoothly to be turned into four soap

loaves that will then be cut into

smaller bar soap later

I have another broken key this one turns

fine but I broke the head it kind of

cracked so we're going to remove that

one it's the exact same process and then

I'm going to show you how to change it

while you're on this machine which is

basically pretty similar to the other

one it's just not positioned exactly the

same let's go have to take the tension

off the strain with some tools yeah we

can take a little more off so it just

doesn't snap yeah these are so close to

each other it's like it got loosen up

yeah trying to play something there

no I'm gonna pull this up and that ya

always have extra wires so yeah I don't

know if we can get it off with the

string still in there we might I can

take it out for you yeah might want to

get it all the way out

otherwise I just get stuck at the end

little pliers aren't always useful

needlenose pliers

yeah needlenose and these also have a

little cutter here so that's good for

guitar string yep now this is all

tangled up and the in the little Frizzle

here very girl mm-hmm and turn it around

you think these guys are sharp yeah it's

right into you yeah well gee I wonder

though it's smaller so it may cut it too

yeah all right is it is it coming off I

think so yeah it's just really these are

really close to each other because this

is why you're this soap cutter is you

know designed to cut the soap at every

inch so there we go and remove the

damaged key

okay okay Oh put it in there it goes I'm

pretty easy little screw little bit uh

gotta be a little bit of a master but

you've done this many times they don't

want to make sure you don't cross okay

so leave it loose to fit fit back into

the drill hole start again to make sure

the screw actually goes in straight or

else you're gonna cross right it and

then yep and then you're screwed would

you like to put the other one the fort's

you know get all the way in this one

actually I don't think it was cross

threading it's just they're quite tight

on this machine yeah really always would

I think in this one's metal so yeah this

one goes in quite easy it's pretty neat

how they actually use a ingenious idea

they use guitar strings and guitar

tuners for a salt machine who would have

thought always have extra sets of wires

on hand you never know when you're going

to pop a wire so they usually come in

bundles of six I always have about two

dozens in store because I buy them from

the store in the US and I'm in Canada

and when I need a wire I need it now so

I'm just going to take one out and I'm

gonna place the the nut I'm going to

start by inserting the the tip of the

wire into there's a little little little

hole here I'm going to show you you

probably can't see but right here

aligned with the sleeve there is a

little hole so I'm going to put the wire

through it push it and then

these are always helpful so I'm going to

pull this up so I can grab the wire pull

it up and place the little the knot into

the sleeve and push it down and I

actually like to take these and insert

it into the sleeve and push it all the

way to the bottom to make sure that it

doesn't move once it's tightened and

then there's another little hole right

here by the key and I'm going to turn

this to align it hello with the hole

okay and pass the wire through the

little opening and then this is the

tricky part to get it to go in here

could you pass me my pliers my

needlenose yeah my needlenose and I just

take the wire and push it up there you

go yeah tada okay now it's in now we are

pulling back the wire and tying a knot

or giving a kink around the turning pin

you can see it makes a very nice loop

and it allows to tighten the wire around

the pin and make it really nice and

straight like all the others I have to

say this part of fixing a sub cutter

takes time and patience and maybe a

little bit of elbow grease as its

twisting and turning and twisting and

turning until the wire is nice and tight

you can take this time to watch more

YouTube videos and yeah there we go

the wire is nice and tight and it is as

all the other wires and the machine is

now ready to be put back to good use and

cut soap last little touch I take my

needlenose pliers and I tightly twist

all the way back to the turnin pin and

then with my thumb I just apply a little

pressure to release and voila the soap

cutter is good as new

hey thanks Jay

you're very welcome thanks for having me

yeah and um I hope you've enjoyed

watching Jay and I work together and to

show you how to replace a key and

replace a guitar string mm-hmm and don't

forget that Jay CDs will be available on

my website you know right on thank you

thank you bye

if you've been listening to my videos

for the couple past couple yeah last

couple last couple years mm-hmm let's

start it again

you might as well turn them nice would

you like to play us a song

Jake flamenco you can speak louder than

that to me

Look, I can't sustain like this.

Even the order from top management has come that everything finished.

We have two months. If the ratings don't go up.

Channel will shut down.

It would be so cool to interview him.

One on one with the man himself.

Sensational.

How did you like the idea? - Rubbish idea.

Stupid, utter garbage.

Girdhari, he says that he had asked us to threaten the builder..

..but we have not called.

I did not have balance in the phone.

A chaos about you is there on social media.

Who is he?

It is important that you stop your drama.

Your brother is going to be insulted for sure.

Ask brother to give me personal interview.

You say yes to him for the interview and I will kill him live on TV.

Is she your wife?

Is she your sister?

I am Girdhari.

Welcome and good evening to One On One with me Arnab Ghosh.

One minute..

Ask brother to change the shirt.

It will create so much jitter on camera.

Who will kill brother? - No, no..

If you get a chance to meet American president, Pakistan PM and Indian PM..

..then who would you like to meet.

I do not like the Indian one. US one is scared of me.

And as far as Pakistan PM is concerned then he is almost here all the time.

Wait for 10 minutes and I shall make you meet him.

HAVASI Landmark World Tour (Part I.) - Duration: 3:36.

It was the most amazing evening I've ever had at music.

This guy ... he can ... he can paint pictures ... with his fingers, with his piano.

It's... it's something new.

It's... you know… his music is so...

so sensitive and so full of beauty and light.

... it is for me already a success that my first concert in Vienna is straightaway in Stadthalle.

... see the videos and it was very nice...

I think it is the music. I like it, and I think it's interesting.

Havasi's performance and his music

and the collaboration with the artist

that he brings on stage is universal...

I was impressed.

It was a really special concert, I really loved it, it was so beautiful...

I'm really excited to be here tonight.

It was much more than our expectation.

Your concert tonight was...

how to say mesmerising or hypnotic.

Hypnotic is a very good word. Thank you very much.

I can't believe how many people came.

It was incredible.

He's fantastic, he is amazing, yeah.

It warmed my soul, it was beautiful.

I'm impressed, you know, so it's really really spectacular. Spectacular show.

He's a genius.

It was just the most amazing thing that I've ever seen.

No expectation, I knew, he was amazing.
