>> THIS IS A WLKY VESSEL

PRESENTATION.

>> IT IS LIKE A WAR ZONE.

>> STATE OF ADDICTION.

>> IT IS AFFECTING EVERYONE.

>> WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE

TAKING.

>> A FAR REACHING EPIDEMIC WITH

A DANGEROUS TOLL.

>> EIGHT PEOPLE THAT I KNOW HAVE

DIED IN 30 DAYS.

>> IT IS A STRUGGLE.

THERE IS NO SIMPLE OR EASY

ANSWERS.

>> WELCOME TO "DATE OF

ADDICTION."

HEROIN AND OPIOID AGENDA --

ADDICTION HAS A FAR-REACHING

IMPACT.

IN MANY CASES, IT IS SOMEONE YOU

WOULD NEVER SUSPECT TO HAS A

PROBLEM.

KENTUCKY RANKS THIRD IN THE

COUNTRY FOR THE MOST OVERDOSE

DEATHS, TIED WITH OHIO.

ONLY WEST VIRGINIA AND NEW

HAMPSHIRE HAVE MORE.

THEY ARE WHEN EPIDEMIC IS

HITTING THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE

PARTICULARLY HARD.

OUR CITY IS SEEING A RECORD

NUMBER OF OVERDOSE CALLS

INCLUDING A STRETCH OF 52 ODS IN

32 HOURS IN FEBRUARY.

THE SPIKE HAS METRO EMERGENCY

CREWS SCRAMBLING TO KEEP UP.

OVERDOSE CALLS ARE ON THE

RISE IN THE METRO.

>> OVERDOSES KNOW IT NO

BOUNDARIES.

THEY CAN BE IN ANY AREA OF THE

CITY.

>> LOUISVILLE IS SITTING A

RECORD NUMBER OF OVERDOSE CALLS.

EMERGENCY CREWS RESPONDED TO 695

CALLS IN JANUARY AND A

STAGGERING 868 CALLS IN

FEBRUARY.

AT LEAST, 75 DEATHS HAVE BEEN

ATTRIBUTED TO DRUG OVERDOSES IN

THE FIRST 2.5 MONTHS IN THE

YEAR.

>> OVERDOSES ARE VERY

UNPREDICTABLE.

SO IS THE NATURE OF THE DRUG.

>> EMS RESPOND TWO CALLS AT

INTERSECTIONS, HOTELS, AND

HOMES.

THIS DRIVER OD AND PASSED OUT

CAUSING A CRASH AT WESTPORT

ROAD.

HOURS AFTER THE CRASH, A CALL TO

A RALLIES BATHROOM WHERE ANOTHER

PERSON HAS OVERDOSED.

THE METRO IS IN THE MIDST OF AN

EPIDEMIC.

>> THERE IS NO PART OF TOWN THAT

IT AFFECTS MORE THAN ANOTHER.

IT IS A TRULY UNFORTUNATE

SITUATION AFFECTING OUR ENTIRE

COMMUNITY.

PEOPLE ARE EXPOSED TO IT NO

MATTER WHO YOU ARE.

>> LOUISVILLE OVER -- FIRST

RESPONDERS GO TO 20 OVERDOSE

CALLS A DAY.

IN FEBRUARY, THOSE CALLS

DOUBLED.

HEALTH OFFICIALS BELIEVE THE

INCREASE IS DUE TO FENTANYL.

>> WHAT WE SEE ON THE STREETS

NOW IS FENTANYL MET WITH HEROIN.

>> HAIR WHEN IS UNPREDICTABLE.

OFFICIALS SAY A DOSE CAN BE

DIFFERENT EVERY SINGLE TIME.

>> SOMEONE COULD HAVE TAKEN

HEROIN MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE

PAST BUT THIS TIME, IT COULD

LEAD TO AN OVERDOSE.

>> ON THIS FRONT, OVER -- FIRST

RESPONDERS GAVE THE PATIENT

NARCAN.

AND THIS SCENE IS REPEATED OVER

AND OVER EACH DAY.

EMERGENCY CREWS ON THE RUN,

SCRAMBLING TO HELP WITH THIS

GROWING EPIDEMIC.

>> ANY INCREASE IN CALLS IS

GOING TO PLAY A FACTOR IN THE

FATIGUE OF OUR EMPLOYEES.

THEY ARE TIRED OF MAKING

OVERDOSE RUNS.

IT IS TOUGH TO SEE DAY IN AND

DAY OUT.

YOU MIGHT BE MAKING MULTIPLE

OVERDOSE RUNS IN THE SAME SHIFT

OR ON THE SAME PATIENT.

>> IT IS NOT JUST A EMERGENCY

CREWS STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP, THE

WORK FOR THE HOMICIDE UNIT HAS

SKYROCKETED.

DETECTIVES RESPOND TO EACH

OVERDOSE DEATH AND AS CHRISTINA

MORA EXPLAINS, OR COTTAGE

OFFICERS AND IN SOME CASES,

FEDERAL AGENTS, ARE RESPONDING

ALSO.

>> WE HAVE BEEN IN

MILLION-DOLLAR HOMES AND IN

ALLEYS.

IT IS AFFECTING EVERYONE.

CHRISTINA: LIEUTENANT EMILY AND

THE HOMICIDE UNIT ARE DEALING

WITH A STAGGERING NUMBER OF

OVERDOSE DEATHS IN 2017.

BY MID-MARCH, HER UNIT RESPONDED

TO NEARLY 80 SUSPECTED DEADLY

OVERDOSES.

BUT -- THE SAME TIME LAST YEAR

WAS 38.

THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT

ADMINISTRATION AND NARCOTICS THE

TECH'S IN TO HELP.

THE GOAL IS TO TRACK DOWN THE

DEALERS.

>> AS AGENTS, WE ARE WORKING THE

HIGHEST LEVEL OF TRAFFICKERS WE

CAN FIND.

WE HAVE HAD TO RETHINK THE WAY

WE ARE DOING THINGS BECAUSE OF

THIS EPIDEMIC.

WE ARE HAVING TO MIX THINGS UP

AND WE ARE TARGETING THE FIRST

LINE DISTRIBUTOR.

THAT IS SOMETHING UNUSUAL FOR

US.

CHRISTINA: THE PILOT PROGRAM

KICKED OFF LAST YEAR IN FOUR

CITIES, LOUISVILLE, PITTSBURGH,

ST. LOUIS, AND MILWAUKEE.

LOUISVILLE IS CAN -- IS

CONSIDERED A PRIORITY.

OFFICERS WILL NOW RESPOND TO

OVERDOSE SCENES.

THEY ARE ON THE HUNT FOR CLUES

TO LEAD THEM BACK TO THE

SUPPLIER.

>> WE HAVE STARTED TO STREAMLINE

HOW WE DO OVERDOSE DEATHS

BECAUSE WE ARE WORKING WITH THE

NARCOTICS UNIT NOW.

THE NARCOTICS UNIT HAS COME ON

BOARD SO IF WE RESPOND TO AN

OVERDOSE DEATH AND WE FEEL WE

CAN IDENTIFY WHO MAY HAVE

PROVIDED THE DRUGS TO THE

PERSON, WE WILL CONTACT A

NARCOTICS DETECTIVE.

>> NARCOTICS IS ABOUT THE MY NEW

CHEF -- IS ABOUT THE DETAILS.

IT IS ABOUT A SCRAP OF PAPER.

THE TYPE OF SYRINGE TELLS US

ABOUT WHERE THEY ARE GETTING IT

FROM.

CHRISTINA: DETECTIVES SAY THE

CLUES HELP LEAD TO THE ARREST OF

SUSPECTED DEALER LOGAN IN SOUTH

LOUISVILLE.

HE SOLD HAIR WENT TO A MAN IN

DECEMBER WHO LATER OVERDOSED AND

DIED.

>> WE MADE THE SCENE AND MET

WITH THE FAMILY.

THE CASE -- THAT CASE IS ONE

WHERE EVERYTHING ALIGNED.

CHRISTINA: HE HAS BEEN INDICTED

ON FEDERAL CHARGES OF SELLING

HEROIN THAT CAUSED A DEADLY

OVERDOSE.

IT IS AN UNPRECEDENTED CHARGE

FOR A REGION AND IT CARRIES A 20

YEAR SENTENCE WITH NO CHANCE FOR

PAROLE.

>> GOING INTO THIS, NO ONE

ANTICIPATED HOW EMOTIONAL THIS

WOULD BE.

CHRISTINA: AUTHORITIES SAY 80%

OF THE SUSPECTED OVERDOSE DEATHS

IN TO ME 17 HAS LIKED -- HAVE

LIKELY BEEN FROM FENTANYL.

IT IS USED TO CUT HAIR WHEN TO

MAKE IT STRONGER -- IT IS USED

TO CUT HEROIN AND MAKE IT

STRONGER.

>> THE PROBLEM IS THAT SMALL

AMOUNT IS KILLING SOMEONE,

SOMEONE'S SON OR DAUGHTER.

THOSE SENTENCES MAY BE STIFF BUT

THESE GUYS NEED TO KNOW THAT

THOSE SENTENCES ARE OUT THERE.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO PEDAL THIS,

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU.

IF WE CATCH YOU, THERE IS A

SIGNIFICANT HAMMER.

CHRISTINA: WHILE THEY FIGHT THIS

ON THE STREETS, MANY ARE

BATTLING THE ADDICTION AT HOME.

OFTEN IN SILENCE.

NEARLY 5 MILLION AMERICANS ARE

ADDICTED TO PILLS.

THAT IS A 300% INCREASE SINCE

1999.

THE FACE OF ADDICTION IS GETTING

YOUNGER.

ERIC KING LOOKS AT THE PAINFUL

REALITY THROUGH THE EYES OF A

PARENT WHO LOST HIS SON TO A

ADDICTION.

>> AS I STARTED TO WALK

UPSTAIRS, MY HEART FELT WITH

EACH STEP THAT I TOOK.

I JUST GOT A BAD FEELING.

AS I GOT TO THE TOP OF THE

STAIRS AND I WALKED INTO HIS

BEDROOM, I OPENED THE DOOR AND I

COULD SEE HIS FEET AND HOW WHITE

THEY LOOKED.

I LOST IT.

I HAD MY WIFE CALLED 911.

I PULLED MY SON DOWN AND TRIED

TO GIVE HIM CPR FOR ABOUT 15-20

MINUTES.

BY THE TIME THEY GOT THERE, THEY

TOOK OVER.

MY WIFE AND I WERE DEVASTATED.

THEY CAME DOWNSTAIRS AND SAID

THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO

FOR HIM.

WE BOTH LOST IT.

ERIC: GREG ALLEN WAS 27 YEARS

OLD.

HE DIED IN DECEMBER, 20 16, A

FEW WEEKS SHY OF HIS BIRTHDAY.

ALTHOUGH HIS DRUG STRUGGLE ENDED

WITH HEROIN, HIS DAD SAID IT DID

NOT START THERE.

>> HIS SENIOR YEAR, IT WAS

COMBATIVE JUST GETTING HIM UP

FOR SCHOOL.

WE DID NOT KNOW THAT HE WAS

USING PAIN PILLS.

>> NO KID GOES INTO HAVING THEIR

FIRST RANK OR SMOKING MARIJUANA

AND THINKING -- I WILL GO TRY

HEROIN.

NOBODY SAYS THAT.

ERIC: PRISCILLA WORKS FOR THIS

REHAB THAT HELPS TO CURB

ADDICTION.

CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE FORCED THEM

TO CONCENTRATE ON TEENAGERS.

>> WE HAVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

KIDS THAT ARE CRUSHING

SWEETHEARTS AND SNORTING THEM UP

THEIR NOSE.

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

WE HAVE ADOLESCENT THAT MAY BE

DRINKING, SMOKING MARIJUANA AND

USING PRESCRIPTION PILLS.

THEY ARE TESTING THE WATERS.

WITH THAT, THEY MAY GET INTO

TROUBLE IN THE PARENTS ARE

REALIZING SOMETHING IS GOING ON.

ERIC: IN 2015, THE LAST

FULL-YEAR STATISTICS ARE

AVAILABLE, 276,000 KIDS IN THE

U.S. BETWEEN THE AGES OF 12 AND

17 WERE OF USING PAIN

MEDICATIONS.

AN ADDITIONAL 122,000 WERE

ADDICTED TO PAIN -- PRESCRIPTION

PAIN MEDICATIONS.

500,000 CAUSED -- CALLED

THEMSELVES USERS.

>> IF WE ARE GOING TO GET OUT OF

AN EPIDEMIC, IT HAS TO START AT

A YOUNG AGE.

>> YOUNG PEOPLE ARE INQUISITIVE.

THE YOUNGER WE ARE, THE MORE

INQUISITIVE WE ARE.

THAT IS HOW WE LEARN.

HAIR WHEN IS THE 1 -- HEROIN IS

THE ONE THING YOU CANNOT TRY ONE

TIME.

ERIC: FOR KEN, IT IS ABOUT

RE-EXAMINING EVERYTHING.

DESPITE THE DAILY HORROR OF THAT

TRACK, IT COMES WITH A SMALL BIT

OF SOLACE KNOWING HIS STORY, HIS

SONS STORY, COULD POTENTIALLY

HELP ANOTHER FAMILY STRUGGLING

WITH ADDICTION.

>> THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT GOES

BY THAT WE DO NOT SHED TEARS.

HE MEANT THAT MUCH TO US.

I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER FAMILIES

GOING TO THE SAME THING.

IT IS PAINFUL.

COMING UP NEXT, TRACING THE

ORIGINS OF THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC.

>> HEROIN, COCAINE, CRANK.

YOU NAME IT.

IT IS HERE.

>> WE WILL TAKE YOU TO A SMALL

EASTERN KENTUCKY TOWN WHERE

PHARMACIES DOMINATE THE

LANDSCAPE.

Trump threatens Comey Better hope there are no tapes - Duration: 4:00.

Trump threatens Comey Better hope there are no tapes

BY KATIE BO WILLIAMS

President Trump on Friday morning issued a cryptic threat to fired FBI Director James

Comey amid a storm of media leaks contradicting the White House.

James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he

starts leaking to the press! Trump tweeted.

A number of reports emerged late Thursday revealing current and former FBI officials

dispute Trumps account of a meeting he had with Comey earlier this year.

Trump in an NBC interview on Thursday said Comey had requested a dinner with him, during

which Trump asked whether Comey wanted to stay on as the FBI head.

The president also said Comey told him three times twice over the phone and once at

their dinner meeting that he was not the subject of any FBI investigations.

But that claim has been met with raised eyebrows in Washington.

Bureau officials, speaking to the press, have contradicted Trumps claims on several points.

Officials told NBC that the White House requested the dinner meeting, not Comey.

A former senior official said that Comey would never have told the president he was not under

investigation.

Two people who have heard his account of the dinner told The New York Times that

Trump asked Comey to pledge his political loyalty at the dinner but was rebuffed by

Comey, who promised honesty but not loyalty.

The differing in accounts comes as the White House has offered shifting explanations for

Trumps decision to fire Comey.

Although officials originally claimed that the dismissal was based on Comeys handling

of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, Trump himself has linked the decision to the

bureaus probe into Russian meddling in the election.

When I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said you know, this Russia thing

with Trump and Russia is a made up story, he told NBC News in an interview that aired

Thursday.

Part of that investigation includes examining whether any Trump campaign officials coordinated

with Russia to help influence the election.

Comey in public testimony declined to comment on whether the president was a subject of

the probe.

Reports have suggested that the maverick director's refusal to pledge his loyalty to the president

was a factor in his abrupt departure.

The startling threat fueled already-simmering comparisons to President Richard Nixon, who

famously refused a subpoena to turn over secretly recorded audio tapes of his Oval Office conversations

ultimately constituting an article of impeachment against him.

The presidents decision to lash out at his former director also comes as the White

House has faced fierce scrutiny for the manner in which Trump delivered his pink slip.

The president had a manila envelope delivered to Comeys office in Washington when

the director was in California, speaking to bureau employees.

He reportedly found out when televisions in the room began broadcasting the news of his

dismissal.

The presidents relationship with the fiercely independent director had been publicly deteriorating

since he took office on Jan. 20 and leaks related to the bureaus investigation continued

to trickle out.

But Comey was a widely respected and popular head from within the bureau, and his dismissal

came as a gut-punch to many.

Speculation has roiled Washington about whether Comey will speak publicly about this circumstances

that led to his dismissal.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has issued an invitation for him to testify behind closed

doors, but as of Thursday, he had not accepted, according to committee leaders.

On the Attainment of Universal Consciousness - Duration: 13:17.

On

the Attainment of Universal Consciousness

Universal Consciousness is attained when a person has a lasting experience in which they

see through their illusion of separateness, and lose their separate self-consciousness.

Their consciousness then merges with the Universe thus they experience being

One with the Universe.

This is often the result of going through a conscious psychological death experience,

brought on by meditation and other aspects of a spiritual path.

The illusion of separateness dissolves in the awareness of Oneness.

And with the dissolution of the illusion of separateness, the separate self seems

to die, and a rebirth occurs.

Separate self consciousness is transcended and transformed.

The dominant consciousness becomes that of the Inner Self, the part of us that is the

Universal Spirit thus, we have Universal Consciousness.

When experienced properly, a person is never the same, and never sees things the

same way again.

From then on, all things are understood in the light of the biggest picture, in

the light of being One with the Universal Spirit (God).

Selfishness thus becomes a thing of the past.

This is also called achieving enlightenment, and a few other names.

The difference between having separate self-consciousness, or having Universal Consciousness, is, like

night and day.

Consider an environmentalist who has expanded his/her separate self consciousness to include

concern for ecology.

This is good.

And if being aware of the flow and balance of Earths nature is good, imagine the significance

of being really aware of the flow and balance, of all things of the entire Universe?

And if being concerned about all humans on Earth is good, what about being devoted to

caring for all life within the entire Universe?

A person who has attained Universal Consciousness, has transcended separate self consciousness,

and thus sees infinitely more, understands infinitely more.

Imagine being able to see the outcome of many of your actions in advance or

whether or not you see the outcome, being able to know if what you are doing is

really going to ultimately help, or ultimately harm.

That is just a small nothing.

What if you really had an awareness of being One with everything even the Creator,

even all other separate selves?

How would you see things then?

And how would you treat everyone and everything?

If you absolutely KNOW that every person you are dealing with, is you, just in a different

form, how will you treat yourself (others)?

Is there any point in stealing from yourself?

Hurting yourself?

Is there any point in being tyrannical with yourself?

It would make no sense, there would be no point if you really believed that to be true.

A being with Universal Consciousness Loves everyone unselfishly, and is (within the needs

of Universal flow) giving, kind, compassionate, caring, knowing, and harmless (that doesnt

mean incapable of defending the innocent).

Why?

Is it because the person has read something that made them that way?

Studied to be that way?

Trained to be that way?

No.

Maybe such things were stepping stones on the path towards attainment of that consciousness,

but once there, the fact is that being any other way simply makes no sense to someone

with Universal Consciousness.

It just is their reality it is just natural.

It is similar with people at any level of consciousness.

A basically decent person is not just trying to be basically decent, moral, or law-abiding.

It comes somewhat naturally depending on what they have made of themselves throughout their

lifetimes.

And they can and will digress towards greater selfishness given the right situation.

Everyone just manifests the level of their consciousness and for most, it moves in

a certain range, wavering between selfishness, and unselfishness to varying degrees, and

shifts at different times in their lives, and depending on the circumstances they are

subjected to.

It is as natural for a person with Universal Consciousness to be totally giving, as it

is for a person with separate self consciousness to be selfish.

A person with separate self consciousness is focused inward, and thus they are like

an energy vacuum, a black hole, always trying to get energy.

But a person with Universal Consciousness is focused outward, and thus they are like

an energy beacon, a Sun, always giving energy.

So piercing this illusion of separation, and attaining Universal Consciousness, is the

answer to the entire worlds problems.

If everyone had Universal Consciousness, there would be no need for the kind of governments

we have now, for all would be governed as One from within themselves.

Just imagine a world in which everyone is conscientious, caring, and responsible.

And where such behaviour is not coerced by threat of prison or death, or even convincing

of any kind.

No need for religions to try and influence people to behave morally.

No need for police, armies, government, etc., because Unselfish Love and service to Universal

Will is all fixed within every being what paradise!

We may never achieve this on Earth, then again, we may.

But there are planes of existence other than the physical plane on Earth, into which only

Universally Conscious beings can enter.

Paradise does already exist.

There are also major personal psychological changes that come from attaining Universal

Consciousness.

The seriousness and significance of things that you once considered very important,

will change.

How important such and such is, will now be viewed in a much greater light, and

its true importance determined there.

Things that previously may have upset you or been desirable to you, may lose their impact

because they pale in significance when seen within the context of awareness of all things.

For instance, how can the paper boy throwing the paper behind the bushes upset you very

much, when you are truly and constantly in mental touch with such things as the

starvation going on in the world, the fact that another species just became extinct while

you were reading the headline, the vision of what will happen when the poles shift,

what life is like when you have the consciousness of lava on Saturn, and on and on and on.

Also, with such a radical consciousness change, some things that you may have previously taken

for granted, or that you found enjoyable, can change dramatically, as far as how you

experience them.

For instance, how can a football game be very interesting when competition is senseless

to you because you know we are all One, you know we are God?

And worse, you know the game is actually reinforcing separateness, and hostility?

All you see from your Universal viewpoint, is a bunch of we who dont understand

who we are, attacking themselves so some we can win and feel superior, and some we

can lose and feel terrible.

Take for example some beautiful flowers growing.

You think nothing of them other than they are pretty.

When I look at them, I know they may never bloom again.

They could become diseased.

They may go extinct.

I may go blind.

I appreciate them so much more because I am aware of these things.

And when I dont see them anymore, or they die, I dont lament them, because I know

they are living on elsewhere, because all life lives on.

It is a paradox.

When you have Universal Consciousness, you take everything much more seriously, and not

seriously at all.

Nothing can ever really be destroyed, or created.

It can only change form.

For all is One.

Take you for another example.

I Love you.

I truly am aware every moment that I may never see you again on Earth.

You may die tonight.

I may have a stroke when I leave this computer, and be unable to communicate or even grasp

your hand.

So I appreciate you so much more, life so much more, and I cherish our being here right

now.

And thus I behave differently.

If I were to fight with you, and say unkind things, or hurt you in any way, I know I may

never get a chance to make amends, or even apologize, and that would be the way we ended

our relationship here and now.

Even if I wasnt aware that we are a part of each other, and you just arent really

aware of that, I couldnt do anything hurtful either, because I know this is it.

This may be our last chance to be together in this way, or for a long time.

And at the same time, it doesnt matter because we are all just the One, interacting,

changing form, coming in and going out.

The only thing that does matter really, is that those of you who think and believe and

live as separate, are suffering.

Suffering needlessly.

And I feel for you, and want to help you.

That is all I am really here for.

But how can we really know all these things, and see all these paradoxical things.

How can we keep them all in our consciousness, and be aware of them at the same time and

constantly, all the time?

It just happens when your separate self gives up its illusion surrenders its artificially,

self-created life.

And there are degrees of this.

The closer you get to attaining Universal Consciousness, the greater your point of view

will become, and the more you will intuitively see the whole picture, or whole situation.

The attainment of Universal Consciousness is quite dramatic though, and you cant

help but to see all these things, and be aware of them.

But while a person who has attained Universal Consciousness may see the whole picture

to the greatest extent possible on Earth, even they dont see it all while still embodied.

A completely all-encompassing point of view is not really possible while functioning in

a physical body.

We can achieve this in deep meditation, but when we again return to full physical plane

function, we can only grasp the essence of what we understood in our ultimate point

of view state.

That is why we teach that getting out of our own way, and allowing ourselves to

be an instrument of the Universal Spirit, is the greatest wisdom.

This too, is achieved simultaneously with Universal Consciousness it comes with

the package.

When we have thus become an instrument of the Universal Spirit, we are then always watched

over by our ascended, hierarchical kin, and guided when necessary.

This is not actually mediumship or channelling.

It is still having only our own Inner Being in charge of, or in possession of, our body

and consciousness.

Our Inner Being is One with the Universal Spirit, and when we allow it to come out,

and take control of us, we become an active link in the hierarchical chain of Universally

Conscious beings.

As a part of the chain, we are both led by the movement of the entire chain, and we become

the chain.

While we are still Earth-bound, and fettered by the limitations of the physical plane,

others of our chain (our hierarchical superiors), are not so limited.

They too unselfishly care for all life, but they are in a higher state of conscious Oneness

with the Universe than we on Earth, and have an infinite view.

And as ONE, we can receive guidance from these other parts of our chain, these beautiful

beings who have an unfettered all-encompassing point of view.

They always know what is best, even if it does not seem so, to us (from our narrow

point of view).

Keto Chocolate Mousse Recipe | Easy Low Carb Dessert - Duration: 6:58.

Hello and welcome back to my channel,

today I'm going to share a recipe for

keto chocolate mousse it is such a yummy

keto dessert, low carb dessert and I

will be sharing this video actually on

Mother's Day I've got my pink mothers

day top on and so this is just the

perfect dessert for Mother's Day to make

for yourself, as such I find it's so

therapeutic making this dessert and you

might find that - it's a lovely treat

for yourself if you're a mom to have

some time out and make a yummy dessert

or to make for your mom so I'm going to

get into the recipe now make sure you

check down below there'll be the full

link to the printable recipe as well as

other yummy stuff and make sure if

you're not already subscribed to my

channel you hit that subscribe button

and join the yummy inspirations

community for more yummy recipes just

like that and leave us a thumbs up, a

thumbs up and a comment

I always appreciate it I look forward to

communicating with you down below in the

comments and let's get straight into the

recipe. And these are all the ingredients

that you need and just by the way in

case you hear some background noise I've

got the washing machine on at the same

time because you know multitasking mom

all of that follow, so excuse any background

noise now the ingredients that we have

I've got a 90% dark chocolate over

here, you can use whatever you want but

I'm low-carb keto so 90 percent and

then we sweeten it up in our stevia if

you're not on keto then you can use any

chocolate you want really any chocolate

works 100 grams which is about three and

a half ounces of chocolate is what you

want and I've got the same amount of

butter I've got a hundred grams of

butter over here chopped up so three and

a half ounces I've got unsalted butter.

I've read about using salted butter in

chocolate mousse actually, I've actually

used it not on this recipe, in other

ones it adds a kind of salted cultured

kind of flavour to it so if you're after

that go ahead you could use some salted

butter but I am using unsalted over here

and we've got our stevia that is the

sweetener that I use that agrees with me

whatever sweetener or sugar that you use

that you like to use in your recipes go

ahead and use that I'm using two

tablespoons

I find that sweet enough but I, although I

love my sweets I don't like things too

sweet

so two tablespoons is enough use as much

as you want just keep adding until it is

sweet enough to your liking and we've

got four eggs now because this recipe is

raw eggs be careful with feeding this

recipe, giving this recipe to children

and people who are unwell or have a

weakened immune system because they say

you shouldn't be having raw eggs or if

you're pregnant, in those kinds of states

so get the freshest best eggs you can

possibly get to use when you are cooking

a recipe or preparing recipe using raw

eggs, well you're not cooking because

they're raw. Alright so first step is

we're gonna over a very low heat melt

our chocolate and our butter together

you could do this in a double boiler or

you could do it in a microwave I do not

have a microwave and I do not have

patience for a double boiler so you can do

this over lowest heat in a small

saucepan there you go I've got my

hundred gram of butter and 100g of

dark chocolate roughly broken up in

there and we're just going to pop it on

to melt, starting to melt, this side of my

kitchen is super sunny at the moment, making

it difficult to film nicely, can see it

doesn't take very long and I'll just

keep stirring and get it melted almost

there and before you know it you'll have

a full chocolate mmm look at that now

we're going to add in our sweetness so

that can dissolve into the chocolate I'm

going to add my 1 and 2 tablespoons of

sweetener and just give that a nice mix

through to get it dissolved and then what

we're going to do is just set this aside

and see to our eggs okay I have two

bowls here, one for the whites and one for

the yolks and we're going to break our

eggs, try not to get eggshell everywhere

and we're going to separate them,

separate them any how that you like

sometimes I'll do it in my hand you just

can catch the yolk in your hand, other times

I'd do it just like this just trying to

do it in and film it at the same time, it's

fun and so I've got the yolks in One

Bowl and the whites and the other and

I'm going to do

with all four of them.

There you go, they are separated, white in One Bowl, yolks in

the other, we'll move the whites aside and

see to the yokes first, I've got our

lovely yokes in our

bowl and you're just going to whisk them

together just want to get them nice and

smooth and once you're happy with that

we're going to add our chocolate in and

give that enough mixer oh look at that

already smells so good

big pool of chocolate and we're just

going to whisk that together and I'm

happy with that messy puddle of

chocolate will remove it aside and get

whipping our whites and I've got my

electric whisk we're ready to whisk

these up to white beautiful peaks

there you go, all right it looks nice you

can see their beautiful white peaks and

now we are going to mix it all through

together, okay we've popped our chocolate back in

the center and move our whites in and

now we're just going to fold the white

through the chocolate gently and this is

the wonderful therapeutic part you see

the chocolate and the whites all mixed

together to become one beautiful super

rich chocolate mousse, you can either do a

figure eight or just around and some

circles and fold it up you don't want to

whip out the air that you've just

whipped into those and once you're happy

with it it just goes into the fridge I'm

going to pop it into a pretty little

bowl, look at that yum, so this

chocolate mousse will go in the fridge and

will just need a few hours to

firm up and then you've got a yummy

yummy yummy chocolate mousse mmm just

kind of smooth out the top of a little

bit it's such a rich dessert so

chocolaty so this is going to go into

the fridge and I will say thank you so

This Is Why We Need The Wall - politics - Duration: 4:22.

"This Is Why We Need The Wall"

Why cant brain dead liberals understand the need for a wall after seeing these statistics?

How can we have an unsecured border with a failed third world state, where murder and

drugs are the two biggest imports?

Mexico was second deadliest country in 2016

(CNN) It was the second deadliest conflict in the world last year, but it hardly registered

in the international headlines.

As Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan dominated the news agenda, Mexicos drug wars claimed

23,000 lives during 2016 second only to Syria, where 50,000 people died as a result

of the civil war.

This is all the more surprising, considering that the conflict deaths [in Mexico] are nearly

all attributable to small arms, said John Chipman, chief executive and director-general

of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which issued its annual survey

of armed conflict on Tuesday.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan claimed 17,000 and 16,000 lives respectively in 2016,

although in lethality they were surpassed by conflicts in Mexico and Central America,

which have received much less attention from the media and the international community,

said Anastasia Voronkova, the editor of the survey

Rising death toll Voronkova said the number of homicides rose

in 22 of Mexicos 32 states during 2016 and the rivalries between cartels increased

in violence.

It is noteworthy that the largest rises in fatalities were registered in states that

were key battlegrounds for control between competing, increasingly fragmented cartels,

she said.

The violence grew worse as the cartels expanded the territorial reach of their campaigns,

seeking to cleanse areas of rivals in their efforts to secure a monopoly on drug-trafficking

routes and other criminal assets. Mexican drug cartels take in between $19 billion

and $29 billion annually from US drug sales, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Rivalries between the cartels wreak havoc on the lives of civilians who have nothing

to do with narcotics.

Bystanders, people who refused to join cartels, migrants, journalists and government officials

have all been killed.

Not on news agenda Jacob Parakilas, assistant head of the US

and the Americas Programme at London-based think tank Chatham House, said part of the

reason for the relative lack of attention paid to Mexico in the international media

is its not a war in the political sense of the word.

The participants largely dont have a political objective.

Theyre not trying to create a breakaway state.

It doesnt come with the same visuals.

There are no air strikes.

Also this has been going on since the beginning of the modern drug trade in the Americas.

Its not news in that sense.

And Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world to be a journalist.

They are intentionally targeted in Mexico, which puts a dampener on the ability to report

on this.

There have, however, been significant arrests in relation to the Mexican drug trade in recent

times.

Damaso Lopez Nunez, a high-ranking leader of Mexicos Sinaloa drug cartel, was arrested

on May 2 in Mexico City and could face charges in the US, authorities said.

His arrest follows Januarys extradition of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, who is accused

of running the Sinaloa cartel one of the worlds largest drug-trafficking organizations.

He awaits trial in New York on 17 counts accusing him of running a criminal enterprise responsible

for importing and distributing massive amounts of narcotics and conspiring to murder rivals.

RICK: WELCOME BACK TO "STATE OF

ADDICTION."

IT'S A DRUG SAVING LIVES.

ONCE ONLY USED BY EMERGENCY

RESPONDERS, NOW SOME FAMILIES

ARE NOW USING NALOXONE TO SAVE

THEIR LOVED ONES.

JENNIFER: NALOXONE OR NARCAN

REVERSES THE EFFECTS OF AN

OVERDOSE.

GIANNA CASERTA TAKES A LOOK AT

HOW FAMILIES ARE USING THE DRUG

TO BATTLE ADDICTION IN THEIR OWN

HOMES.

>> EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A

REASON.

AND I AM THANKFUL IT DID HAPPEN

BECAUSE I HAVE A NEW LOOK-OUT ON

LIFE.

GIANNA: NATHAN JOHNSON SAYS HIS

OVERDOSE WAS THE WAKE-UP CALL HE

NEEDED.

>> I GOT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS

HEROIN.

I WENT INTO THE BATHROOM.

AND DUDE TOLD ME IT WAS STRONG,

SO I DID JUST A TINY BIT OF IT

, AND THEY FOUND ME IN THE

BATHROOM AGAINST THE DOOR WITH

THE NEEDLE IN MY ARM.

GIANNA: AND JOHNSON ISN'T ALONE.

METRO EMS RESPONDS TO HUNDREDS

OF OVERDOSE CALLS EACH MONTH.

>> THEY THREW ME IN THE SHOWER,

THEY DID 18 MINUTES OF CPR

BEFORE THERE COPS GOT THERE,

NOTHING WAS WORKING, SO THE COP

CAME IN AND HE HAD TO USE TWO

NARCANS, BY IT BROUGHT ME BACK

TO LIFE.

GIANNA: NALOXONE OR NARCAN IS A

DRUG, WHICH REVERSES THE EFFECTS

OF AN OVERDOSE.

FIRST RESPONDERS USE IT DOZE

OF TIMES A DAY, AND IN SOME

CASES, MULTIPLE TIMES ON ONE

PATIENT.

BUT IT'S NOT JUST FIRST

RESPONDERS USING THE DRUG.

FAMILIES ARE BUYING IT SO THEY

CAN BE PREPARED IF A LOVED ONE

NEEDS HELP

>> HIS DISEASE GO IN AND OUT OF

REMISSION.

GIANNA: JENNIFER STEPP'S OLDEST

SON HAS BATTLED ADDICTION FOR

YEARS.

SHE HAS USED NALOXONE TO SAVE

HIS LIFE.

>> AND THEN AFTER IT WAS ALL

SAID AND DONE, EVERYTHING WORKED

OUT FINE FOR THAT EVENING.

AND THEN IT TURNS OUT, LIFE WAS

SAVED.

GIANNA: JENNIFER HAS SINCE

TAUGHT HER DAUGHTER HOW TO USE

NALOXONE IN CASE SHE'S NOT

AROUND TO HELP.

>> SHE SAID, MOM HOW COME YOU

, HAVEN'T TRAINED ME YET?

GIANNA: HER REASON FOR WANTING

TO LEARN WAS SIMPLE.

>> BECAUSE I WANTED TO SAVE

SOMEBODY.

>> THERE ARE PEOPLE VENUE

LEAVENING HAVE VALUE.

GIANNA: MORE NEEDLE EXCHANGE

PROGRAMS OR OPENING AND COUNTIES

ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RIVER.

JENNIFER: PROPONENTS ARGUE

INFECTIOUS DISEASES SUCH AS HIV

AND HEPATITIS C.

A SCOTT COUNTY MAN SAYS THE

NEEDLE EXCHANGE CHANGED THE

COURSE OF HIS LIFE.

CAROLYN CALLAHAN HAS HIS STORY.

CAROLYN: IF YOU TOLD COLE BOYT A

YEAR AGO HE'D BE HELPING CLEAN

INDIANA, HE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT

YOU WERE CRAZY.

DAUGHTER.

HOMELESS.

ADDICT.

CAROLYN: BOYT WAS AN ADDICT FOR

YEARS.

IT STARTED WITH PAIN PILLS AFTER

SURGERY, AND PROGRESSED TO

HEROIN AND OTHER DRUGS.

LAST YEAR, HE WENT TO THE SCOTT

COUNTY NEEDLE EXCHANGE TO PICK

UP CLEAN SYRINGES, BUT HE ENDED

UP WITH A WHOLE LOT MORE.

>> THE PEOPLE AT THE NEEDLE

EXCHANGE PROGRAM SHOWED ME A WAY

OUT.

CAROLYN: THE NEEDLE EXCHANGE

PROGRAM HELPED HIM GET INTO

RECOVERY PROGRAMS.

HE'S BEEN CLEAN FOR SIX MONTHS

, AND NOW, HE IS GIVING BACK

WITH DOZENS OF OTHER VOLUNTEERS.

>> A THIRD OF THE CALLS IN

AUSTIN THROUGH 911 DISPATCH IS

ABOUT A DIRTY NEEDLE AND

SOMEONE'S AFRAID TO PICK IT UP.

CAROLYN: BEFORE HEADING OUT,

VOLUNTEERS LEARN HOW TO SAFELY

PICK UP A NEEDLE, AND WHERE TO

LOOK FOR THEM.

MOST ARE FOUND ON THE SIDE OF

THE ROAD.

SCOTT COUNTY RECEIVED STATE

APPROVAL IN 2015 TO OPEN ITS

NEEDLE EXCHANGE, AT THE TIME THE

, COUNTY WAS EXPERIENCING THE

STATE'S WORST-EVER HIV OUTBREAK.

BUT FOR BOYT, HE SAYS THE

PROGRAM CAN BE A LIFE-SAVER.

>> IT'S MORE THAN JUST A NEEDLE

EXCHANGE.

IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET TO

THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY NEED

SOME HELP, AND SHOW THEM THERE

IS A WAY OUT.

RICK: WLKY WAS PROUD TO WORK

WITH LOUISVILLE'S DRUG

ENFORCEMENT AGENCY ON ITS RECENT

NATIONAL PILL TAKE-BACK DAY.

THIS YEAR'S EVENT COLLECTED A

RECORD AMOUNT OF PILLS

NATIONWIDE.

HERE LOCALLY, WE DOUBLED THE

NUMBER OF MEDICATION COLLECTED

NEARLY -- COLLECTED TO NEARLY

3000 POUNDS.

MARK VANDERHOFF LOOKS AT THE

IMPORTANCE OF THE PROGRAM.

MARK: GETTING RID OF UNUSED

PRESCRIPTION DRUGS TO KEEP PILLS

FROM FALLING INTO THE WRONG

HANDS.

>> TRY TO MAKE YOUR HOUSE AS

SAFE AS POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY IF

YOU HAVE KIDS AROUND, OR

TEENAGERS THAT MIGHT BE CURIOUS.

YOU DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOURSELF

OPEN TO HAVING MEDICATIONS

AROUND THAT SOMEONE WOULD EITHER

BREAK IN TO FIND, OR GO THROUGH

YOUR THINGS TO FIND.

MARK: ACCORDING TO THE U.S.

ATTORNEY'S OFFICE, MORE THAN

2000 PEOPLE TRY PRESCRIPTION

DRUGS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVERY

DAY.

THEY'RE OFTEN GETTING PILLS FROM

THE MEDICINE CABINETS OF FAMILY

AND FRIENDS.

>> YOU DEFINITELY DON'T WANT

THOSE AROUND HER HOUSE.

THEY COULD BE DANGEROUS IF

SOMEONE GOT THEM ON ACCIDENT.

THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR SOMEONE

TO BE LOOKING FOR ABUSE.

MARK: MARIA CHAPMAN IS THE

POISON PREVENTION COORDINATOR

FOR THE KENTUCKY REGIONAL POISON

CONTROL CENTER.

SHE'S A BIG ADVOCATE OF PEOPLE

PROPERLY DISPOSING OF THEIR

UNUSED, UNWANTED, OR EXPIRED

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS.

>> IF IT IS A PRESCRIPTION

MEDICATION THAT HAS EXPIRED, IT

IS PROBABLY NOT A PART OF YOUR

DOCTOR'S CURRENT TREATMENT PLAN.

IT IS PROBABLY LEFTOVER FROM

SOMETHING AND YOU DON'T WANT TO

SELF MEDICATE OR SHARE FOR -- OR

SHARE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS

WITH OTHERS.

MARK: THE DEA WARNS THAT

THROWING MEDICATION IN THE TRASH

, OR FLUSHING IT DOWN THE TOILET

POSES POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARDS.

THOSE MEDICATIONS COULD ACTUALLY

END UP IN OUR WATER SUPPLY.

THERE ARE WAYS TO SAFELY GET RID

OF PRESCRIPTION PILLS OUTSIDE OF

DRUG TAKEBACK EVENTS.

CHAPMAN SUGGESTS DUMPING PILLS

IN A BAG OF COFFEE GROUNDS OR

USED CAT LITER, ANYTHING THAT

WOULD DETER SOMEONE FROM DIGGING

THROUGH TO FIND IT.

>> WLKY IS DEDICATED TO BRINGING

ATTENTION TO THE STATE OF

ADDICTION.

State of Addiction: The growing epidemic part 3 - Duration: 8:31.

VICKI: THE IMPACT THE HEROIN AND

OPIO CRISIS IS HAVING ON SMALL

TOWN TO STAGGERING.

IN BULLITT COUNTY, THE PROBLEM

IS GETTING WORSE.

JENNIFER BAILEYS EXAMINES WHAT

IS HAPPENING THERE AND WHAT IS

BEING DONE HELP.

JENNIFER IT IS A PLACE WHERE

LIFE IS SIMPLE.

NEIGHBORS HELP EACH OTHER AND

EVERYONE KNOWS EVERYONE.

BUT THERE IS A GROWING EPIDEMIC

THAT IS TAKING LIVES AND

CHANGING THE FACE OF THIS

TIGHTKNIT COMMUNITY.

>> IT IS LIKE A WAR ZONE OUT

HERE.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO WAS GOING TO

DIE NEXT.

JENNIFER: JEFFREY GREW UP HERE

AND AT 11 YEARS OLD, HE STARTED

USING DRUGS.

>> WHEN I W 18, THESE GREEN

PILLS STARTED COMING AROUND.

JENNIFER: HE SAYS PILLS WERE THE

BEGINNING OF THE END AND SOON,

HIS ADDICTION EXPLODED.

>> MY FIANCEE HAD CALLED MY

PAROLE OFFICER.

AT THE TIME, I HATED HER WHEN

SHE DID IT.

NOW, I THINK HER FOR IT.

JENNIFER: JANUA MARKED TO HEAR

SOBER FOR HIM AND NOW, HE IS

FIGHTING FOR FRIENDS AND

NEIGHBORS BATTLING ADDICTION.

AND THE FACE OF ADDICTION IS

GETTING YOUNGER.

>> FIVE YEARS AGO, I WOULD SAY

BETWEEN 35-40.

THE AVERAGE AGE NOW IS 18-22.

JENNIFER: ANTHONY IS JUST ONE OF

A FEW COUNSELORS IN THE COUNTY.

IT IS NOT EASY TO FIGHT

ADDICTION AND A SMALL COMMUNITY.

>> THE BAD THING ABOUT A SMALL

TOWN IS THEY CANNOT OVERCOME THE

STIGMA OR THE PAST.

JENNIFER IN 2014, THE COUNTY

SPENT ABOUT $800 O NARCAN.

IN 2015, IT W $7,600 AND IN

2016, THE COST WAS $16,400.

>> BUDGET KERLEY, IT PUTS A

STRAIN ON US.

OUR RUN VOLUME INCREASES.

GOING BACK BEFORE.

WHEN WE MAKE OUR TRANSPORTS, OUT

OF THE COUNTY, YOU ARE LOOKING

FOR A TRUCK TO RETURN THE

SERVICE.

JENNIFER: ANTHONY POINTS OUT

THAT THE PEOPLE BEING TREATED ON

THESE EMERGENCY RUNS, PEOPLE

ADDICTED TO HEROIN AND OPIOIDS

MAY NOT BE WHO YOU EXPECT.

IF WE WERE TO PULL THE

AUDIENCE AND ASK THEM WHAT TYPE

OF PERSON BECOMES ADDICTED, WE

ARE GOING TO GET STUFF LIKE

WORK, UNEDUCATED, WEAK WILLED,

DEPRESSED.

WE HAVE HAD NURSES, DOCTORS,

POLICE OFFICERS, ATTORNEYS, A

JUDGE.

FOR SOME REASON, I SEEMS THE

LOWE SOCIOECONOMIC CLASS PEOPLE

-- THEY ARE PUT OUT IN THE

LIMELIGHT.

JENNIFER: EAST OF LOUISVILLE IN

SHELBY COUNTY, THEY HAVE ALSO

SEEN A HUGE SPIKE IN THE HEROIN

PROBLEM.

JULIE DOLAN HAS MORE ON A LIFE

LOST TOO SOON.

HE WAS SITTING UP IN THAT

CORNER WITH H LEGS OUT.

HE HAD LOCKED HIMSELF IN THE

BATHROOM.

JULIE: EVERYTHING IS EXACTLY HOW

HE LEFT IT.

HIS PANTS, STILL FOLDED NEATLY

ON THE BED.

BUT BENJAMIN DOMINGUEZ IS NOT

COMING HOME.

IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN.

BENJAMIN'S LIFE WAS NOT SUPPOSED

TO END LIKE THIS

UNFORTUNATELY, HEROIN HAD THE

FINAL SAY.

HIS HEAD WAS HERE AND HIS

BODY WAS DOWN HERE WHEN THEY

WERE DOING CPR.

HE ACTUALLY VOMITED.

JULIE: BENJAMIN DIED A FEW DAYS

AFTER THANKSGIVING FROM AN ACUTE

HEROIN OVERDOSE.

MY BROTHER KICKED THE DOOR IN

AND THAT IS WHEN THEY FOUND HIM.

HIS BODY WAS STILL WARM.

JULIE: A MOTHER'S PERVASIVE PAIN

IS STILL EVIDENT AS SHE RECALLS

THE DAY.

SHE WAS WORKING HER NORMAL SHIFT

AT THE COUNTY HOSPITAL WHEN SHE

HEARD THE CALL.

1700 CHARLESTON WAY.

PROBABLE DRUG OVERDOSE.

I WAS LIKE -- OH MY GOD, THAT IS

MY HOUSE.

THAT IS MY SON.

JULIE: HER SON WAS JUST 19 YEARS

OLD.

BENJAMIN WAS THE KIND OF KID WHO

HAD IT ALL.

>> HE PLAYED WITH HIS BROTHER

ALL OF THE TIME.

HE WAS AN ABSOLUTE JOY.

JULI HE WAS A SOL STUDENT

UNTIL HE STARTED SMOKING

MARIJUANA HIS SOPHOMORE YEAR.

HER SWEET BOY BECAME A DIFFERENT%

PERSON.

MARIJUANA LED TO SPICE, PILLS,

AND FINALLY HEROIN.

AT THE AGE OF 19, HE HAD MADE

TWO ATTEMPTS AT REHAB.

BUT THE PAIN OF LOSING HIS BEST

FRIEND IN A CAR CRASH DROVE HIM

BACK TO HEROIN.

HER LIST OF WHAT IFS IS NOW A

MILE LONG.

>> ONLY IF I DID NOT FEEL ALONE.

IN MY STRUGGLE WITH BENJAMIN AND

DRUGS.

JULI WENDI IS NOW LEARNING SHE

WAS NOT ALONE IN HER DESPERATE

SITUATION.

THE ENTIRE COUNTY IS DEALING

WITH IT.

I WANT TO EXPLAIN A LITTLE

BIT ABOUT SHELBY PREVENTION.

JULI SHE HOLDS TOWN HALL

MEETINGS LIKE THIS ONE TO GET

THE CONVERSATION GOING ABOUT

HEROIN.

>> IT IS SEEING ACROSS THE STATE

BUT IT HITS SO HEAVY WHEN IT IS

AT HOME.

JULI CONCERNED PEOPLE SHOW UP

TO TALK OPENLY ABOUT A PROBLEM

THEY CANNOT DENY.

CASEY MUD IS HERE TO SHOW HER

SUPPORT FO ADDICTS OF ALL

KINDS.

HER ADDICTION STORY STARTED AT

BIRTH.

>> I WAS BORN TO A FATHER WHO

WAS AN OUT CALL IT.

WHEN I CAME AROUND, HE WAS STILL

ACTIVELY DRINKING.

JULIE: IN AN EFFORT TO KNOW HIS

DAUGHTER BETTER, HE STARTED TO

TAKE HER TO A -- ALCOHOLICS

ANONYMOUS MEETINGS EARLY ON.

THOSE MEETINGS EARLY ON

TAUGHT HER THAT REAL-LIFE

STORIES ABOUT ADDICTION NEED TO

BE SHARED.

THE NUMBER OF OPIOID RELATED

DEATHS DOUBLED IN A YEAR'S

TIME, SHE DECIDED TO TAKE

ACTION.

SHE STARTED A FACEBOOK PAGE.

AND SHE IS TELLING THE STORIES

OF LOCAL HEROIN ADDICTS.

WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK,

QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, AND

DESPERATE PLEAS FOR HELP CAME

FLOODING IN.

>> ASKING FOR REHAB RESOURCES.

ASKING TO SHARE THEIR STORIES.

IT WAS SO OVERWHELMING.

JULIE: HER PHOT -- HER FIRST

POST CENTERED ON BENJAMIN

DOMINGUEZ.

WHILE SHE ADMITS SHE DOES NOT

HAVE A MAGIC ANSWER FOR CURBING

THE PROBLEM, SHE KNOWS HER WORK

IS A GOOD START.

>> NO ONE WAKES UP AND SAYS, I

WANT TO BE AN ADDICT.

THERE IS A STORY THAT GETS THEM

THERE AND I WANT TO SHARE THEM.

JULI JUST LIKE WENDI PALMER.

EVERY DAY WAS LIKE A ROLLER

COASTER.

NEVER REALIZED OR DREAMED OF A

DAY WHEN SHE WOULD SPEAK TO A

CROWD ABOUT THE DEATH OF HER SON

PLEADING FOR A SOLUTION.

>> HE WOULD WANT ME TO SHARE HIS

STORY.

IF THERE IS ANY HOPE HE COULD

HELP SOMEONE ELSE, NOT TO USE

DRUGS IN THE FIRST PLACE, OR TO

UNDERSTAND WHAT HEROIN CAN

ACTUALLY DO TO YOU.

VICKI: ONE OF THE FIRST WEAPONS

EXPERT SAY IN THE WAR OF

ADDICTION IS KNOWLEDGE.

HERE ARE A FEW SIGNS TO TAKE

NOTICE OF.

CHANGES IN SKIN COMPLEXION.

INCREASED TIME SLEEPING.

A DECREASE IN HYGIENE.

SOME CHANGES IN WORK OR SCHO

PERFORMANCE.

LIE IN.

INCREASED HOSTILITY.

AT WLKY WE HOPE YOU WILL TAKE

THIS INFORMATION, DISCUSS IT,

AND PASS IT ON.
