Hello once again everyone, and welcome

back to 'One English Tip in One Minute for

Speakers of Chinese (and its many

language varieties)' In these videos I

talk about each week, in detail, one

common English mistake made by Chinese

speakers...and this is video number 30.

As I grow ever fonder of saying, I think

it's a smart, cool and a practical thing

for you to do to try to improve your

English and for speaking English in the

first place. If this is your first

video, I hope you go back and watch these

other videos because I think they really

do help if you put the work into it.

In these videos, I show you a slide, and

on the slide there are two sentences:

One is the correct way that someone who

speaks English as a mother tongue would

say it,

the other is the wrong way that many

Chinese speakers say it. You have to

decide which one is correct. Do that

now. Read the sentences,

listen to me read the sentences, pause

the video, think about your answer and I

will discuss the answer in the slide

that follows this slide.

Ok, so how did that go? Did you get your

answer with confidence, and your positive

of the reason it is like it is?

If so, then you don't need to think about

this very much. But if you got it wrong --

or you took a wild guess and happened to

get it right -- it just simply means you

need to start studying this a little bit.

To start you off on that process I've

given you three sentences. You should

memorize these sentences in their

entirety, you should constantly review

them -- and get them into your head -- and you

should put into practice what you've

learned through speaking or writing or

both...and just keep doing that and

eventually the bad English will leave

your head and the good English will come

into your head, and hopefully it'll stay

there.
