Waching daily Aug 18 2017

hello everyone it's me jayskibean and welcome back to layers of fear now it's been a

long time since I've done the episode of layers of here now last episode I

actually beat the the game itself but now that was on ps4 now I'm playing on

PC and I'm going to start inheritance which is the DLC for the game itself

sorry I just woke up so I'm all like so here we go into the super loud game when

I was a child I used to lay in bed late at night staring at the ceiling

listening to my father scream scream at my mother scream it yet another failed

masterpiece finally just scream out into the

darkness it became my lullaby and even when they

took me away screams followed I was once told that insanity runs in my family

it's time to make it stop sickness and sanity and death were the Angels

surrounded by cradle they have followed throughout my life Edvard Munch now in

the original game after flashlight we get flashlight now this is pretty I

liked how pretty this is is it the same yeah it was the same you can click and

it moves it's the air plated on ps4 but I assume oh yeah is it like the opposite

of how the house was or is it the same as how the house oh it's the same house

and everything from the original game so the original game you played is I what

I'm assuming is her her father oh wow this but so this must be post

oh oh yeah I'm loving this already flashbacks but this misty post lapin to

her father and she said insanity runs in the family it turns out her father was

just really crazy but maybe she is too Oh reeks in here

she imagine UCL before it fell out of the painting all right so what exactly

am I looking for get out bye get out of here before I find a way

to keep you in there for good

whoa all right so we're gonna have flashbacks oh we're gonna get more of

the story then that's cool what are you the drawing of of dad during the dog

away and stuff okay okay well yeah well we saw that happen and I think what

happened was a dad caught everything on fire or there was some kind of fire or

something I don't know I there's no telling you can't sprint but it's very

small it's like a tiny sprint I don't know I'm not going down there nope I'm

at the fall down there I remember what happened in the first game I wonder when

was the last time this place off burn work well there's that demon photo all

my geez dude this is so crazy

am I going to pay the summer trees so green and vibrant full of life but also

young and experienced let's try to find them a more poignant season where they

are wising have some stories to tell

Oh kid okie maybe maybe she is insane just like her dad okay um well child

everybody here come so yeah here we are oh I got dog we're gonna run from the

doll should I get more colors or should do I only have to get that one I guess

just that one okay well let's go back to the painting let's go back and paint

some more huh huh huh I'm not freaked out at all

all right here we are look they sway in the breeze but are none the wiser just

like you just like me so up this piece through here Boop

all right so we just got a cat doll pain brilliance let's add some more the same

color I won't make it boring or predictable oh my gosh he suffocated

with that so I gotta find a color that he likes Simon I just got to look around

and find whatever color remember color mr. mr. painter master wants me to see

this red how about red he loves blood whoa whoa hey don't go hey oh oh I did

not see that coming obviously did not see the dog Oh coming okay let's go Boop

ah yes the autumn of life when man seeks shelter from the elements let's see our

little Hut fairs but no put that down you are doing so well

Oh what color in doing put that down you're much too old for that childish

nonsense ah ha ha ha oh it's awesome oh that looks like the chair you have

been in ed I'm not gonna lie it's just so cool

ah what no what the oh it's so cool oh it's like drawn to life or something

so I guess technically it is kind of drawn to life oh is that a big tongue

well let's go on stage why not this game is so trippy honestly don't know what I

expected

seshu little girly red was walking through the woods when suddenly out of

nowhere jumped out you know who ah glowing

bloody red teeth sharpest razors and yet the big bad wolf did not seem to faze

her be careful little girl the big bad wolf sneered you're in

fantasy land where things ain't what they see

Oh shush you big old me the frightened girl exclaimed you're the only threat in

this wonderful land with my magic crayons I can do no harm I can make the

trees yellow turn them upside down turn grass into candy make the sky go red I

can do whatever pops into my head the wolf was unimpressed for the show of

skill you do have the power to do what you will alas I humbly urge you to

practice restraint for you are responsible for what to create your

nasty jealousy means said the little girl

I just want to have fun and you want me to learn I wish a big old rock would

fall down from the sky and crush her please bad mouth into a mincemeat pie

don't do it I beg you the big world pride you lack scale and perspective my

sweet little child but it was too late his warning fell on deaf ears down him

and smash them all to smithereens oh oh whoa okay so there's that that

nice little play so am i the child then who just drew everything and did I Drive

the dad insane was that me finally are you ready to

embrace through art I don't know yet there's another trail this way

is there another thing to do over here probably not we're still going to look

though we're going to look around two paths Danger Danger Danger I'm still

going to go

uh hello okay um whoa did it go out of bounds inside what that was okay yeah

that's not about okay let's go back then okay I guess we are gonna finish the

painting all right let's embrace to art group ah

yes the autumn of life Oh shelter from the elements let's see our

little Hut fairs when the skies grow dark did I even have two skies go dark

okay there's black let's do black all right bad beam let's get to see what the

next any old house will do in times of prosperity we need to see how it fares

when misery darkens the sky okay so not that color oh well let's keep looking

about this one it's yellow well let's try it let's try it run on

why not Troy who is part of dark skies did you not understand my bad dad calm

down oh my god a hole what an a-hole I just want to color the picture let me

color okay so I'm gonna just go through this hallway I'm gonna keep going

what what's so funny I hear your life in it me I hear you stuff laughing to me ah

jeez okay okay on where'd we go hey hey

it's my color over here I'm just gonna push me huh oh I can go this way now

yeah a trippy game that's fun all right let's climb up the toy Hill and get the

right cuz that's got to be the right color

can I can I grab I can't reach it look it I can't reach it Dada Dada Dada okay

well I guess I'll go back down I guess I'll sprint towards it okay I

heard a baby crying that time just something in here is that ship ship I

don't know what do I do don't need to roll the ball

okay maybe I need to roll okay there we go

all right let's go come on you think you're scared me but I'm too mad right

now like you uh no no no no don't go back down good okay good now we can grab

this take it take it take it take take it take it there we go Kali uh you okay

you're good you tripping make tritanus over here okay we should be good now

let's go back let's go back back to the paint team and let's finish this baby

let's finish this baby baby finish yeah hi in the end all we take for granted is

fragile and temporary man passes while nature indoors speaking of which I don't

think I'm a proud stallion likes the weather let's brighten things up a bit

oh if you insist where's the doll here I hear you

assigned to find something to brighten things up a bit

scientist I and a yellow color solve more puzzles uh-huh okay what about

green green work greens brighter than what we got in there now turn up

listening okay fine some soggy grass going to help here I think we need to

make it warmer oh we need to set it on fire

hello dog all by VT I love poppers they're the base all

right let's keep going keep going keep going keep keep keep okay well there's

oh she's what the what keeps happening it okay can we not do that thank you

it keeps going in and out and it's freaking dragon okay the Sun bestows

high praise upon the land it's getting warmer and warmer until finally

marvelous isn't it I know it seems like a tragedy a beautiful tragedy is always

better than an unremarkable existence okay oh no way I believe he meant well

he wanted me to excel hoping that when the time came I would succeed where she

failed avoid his mistake God knows he make plenty of those yeah uh okay what's

this okay let's put that down

well this is the room where the painting was in in the original game so yeah I'm

gonna have to set acceptable I mean I'll finish the episode up here I

hope you guys enjoyed this was inheritance layers of fear once again it

is exactly like the original game so trippy and so puzzle II and this just uh

is supposed to emulate horror but honestly it's more its art it's more

artistic and beautiful to me than it is scary so anyway hope you guys enjoyed

you guys did enjoy make sure you slap that like button underneath the video

and it's not next time I'll see you guys later

The Dullest DONG? -- DONG - Duration: 4:19.

Hey there I'm Jake Roper and one of my favorite things to do is filling your eyes and ears

with a cornucopia of DONGs and when I'm not doing that man it's just the dullestblog.com,

which is a very dull DONG, something you can do online now guys.

With the Genetic Geography of the brain you can explore the amount of differentially expressed

genes in a pair of anatomic regions.

For example look at the intersection of the medial orbital gyrus and the inferior temporal

gyrus.

You can see that genetic activity is similar between them, as represented by the blue.

In fact if you look at this entire area you'll notice the majority is blue.

In the Structures Emerge section it explains that the cerebral cortex is pretty homogeneous

and when you click almost anywhere inside, very few genes will come up on the right hand

side.

That is because only differentially expressed genes are shown here.

So if you select a warmer colored box you'll see the longer list of different genes.

Speaking of, do you have the gene for being amazing at

babbl.xyz.

This is a multiplayer scrabble game, like most scrabble games but it's with people

you don't know and a lot of them.

Also you don't have to wait twenty minutes for your opponent to come up with their genius

two-letter word because whenever you have one ready, you can just go for it.

If the current set up isn't for you, zoom out and look around until you find the perfect

spot.

All these people are ahead of me so I'm just going to

Tumble.

Caution: don't use this while driving.

It seems like a bad idea.

Watch these shapes circle around and around with peaceful music.

Speed it up or slow it down.

And watch for hours, days, hey why not weeks?

Whoa how long ago was it since I started talking about this?

Find out with

Date Duration.

Have you ever needed an alibi when someone asks you where you were on the night of -insert

crime here-?

Well type in the date they ask about and then the current one here.

Alright it was 4 days ago.

But if you can't really gauge what 4 days feels like then check out these other measurements.

Like 345,600 seconds.

Or 1.1% of 2017.

I can totally gauge what that feels like and now I remember that I was tying my shoes.

I'm innocent.

But for a more visual representation of duration go here is today.

This site lets you see how insignificant this day is in the span of certain time periods.

Every time you press "okay" the duration gets longer and the smaller today gets in

comparison.

When you click it once it shows you today in context of August.

Again and now it's 2017.

It not only shows you how small it is but also where it is in relation to the rest of

the period.

So you can see that we are over half way done with this year.

Do it again and again and oh my gosh now you can't even see it because it's been such

a tiny amount of time in comparison.

Life is short but don't let that block you from cool opportunities like

Coloblock.

The goal of this game is to move the ball along by matching it with a square that has

a half that is the same color.

When it reaches that block, it will change to the color of the other half.

You need to be able to access an entire side so this one won't work because it is surrounded.

Sometimes you may have to go backwards in order to keep going and when there are no

more moves then you're done.

As done as the life of this crushed spider on

Tetris.

A game that you've all heard of but not like this.

Not like this.

The same rules apply where you have to stack and fit them and blast through lines.

But now you need to avoid murdering this little guy.

Sometimes you'll want to press space to get the block down immediately before the

spider gets under.

But then you risk missing and not fitting it perfectly.

You also cannot suffocate it.

This doesn't kill it immediately but it's cruel and will cause you to lose the game

eventually.

So there are a combo of factors but for a combination lock check out

...combinationlock.com.

Where you'll be given numerical hints and math problems to help you figure out the combination.

When you give a correct answer, it unlocks and you can finally have access to nothing.

And it times you so you feel really really bad or really really good.

Links to all the DONGs can be found in the description below and ya know what?

Ya know what?

I really like tuna fish.

I think it's very nice.

Very delicious.

You can sear it.

You can eat it raw.

You can eat it out of a can.

You could eat it in a burger.

Tuna fish.

It's great.

What was I gonna say?

Oh yeah there's a playlist right here filled with DONGs and I'm chewing gum while recording

which is very rude and I apologize for that.

But ya know what not *stuttering* I'm just gonna do this in one take.

I don't wanna re-record this so I'm just gonna keep that in.

Hannah we're keeping that in.

And as always, thanks for dealing with me.

Oh and thanks for watching.

Triathlon Beach Starts - Duration: 9:58.

- Hell of a lot of Trainiacs out there

that are doing beach starts that need to know

how to do beach starts.

So your face can hit the water.

To be expected, I haven't run barefoot in--

Good morning Trainiacs.

Solid group ride with the gang today.

Actually took down a sprint, 50K in an hour 38.

Beach triathlon starts today.

Morning Trainiacs.

Bring you in nice and tight here.

As I was going through the footage of the week

that I spent at Victoria Beach holidaying,

IE training camping, I realized that we have all this

kickass footage of us practicing beach starts.

Look at this, how epic is that?

It's so nice.

And I thought, you know what?

There's a hell of a lot of Trainiacs out there

that are doing beach starts that need to know

how to do beach starts.

And it started by Pat basically just doing this for fun.

And when I wanna show you is how smooth it can be.

It's not a scary thing.

You just need to have the right technique.

(gentle music)

Those majestic beasts there.

K, so I wanna show those again, and I wanna pause

on a couple different spots here.

Number one, when you do a beach start, you are going to have

quite a few less people around you than you would in like,

the human washing machine where there's a ton of people

in a deep water start.

There's typically either just a rolling start

where there's one person every two seconds,

or they'll line up a wave of, say, your age group.

So it might be 50 to 100 athletes instead of thousands.

So you can go off right from the start,

you don't have to cede yourself away from the main churn.

You can basically just line up and as they go, you go.

So Pat here, he's practicing running at full speed,

and then here's the trick to it.

When you get in the water, run in just like

you normally would until you get to about knee-height water,

and we'll see it from another angle, but you can see here

that Pat's leg is kinda kicked out to the side

to get over the water.

And he does a little hop there,

and that's not like a normal running stride.

He's kinda making sure that he's hopping his way

over the water.

Then when he gets to a point that it's hard

to hop your way out, somewhere around knee-height

in the water, you do a jumping dive in.

What you can see right there is this little bump.

That's Pat's head.

Yeah, Pat's head is small.

It's little.

And you tuck your head into the water, and then you hammer.

When you start swimming at the start of a triathlon,

if you're competing for personal best

and you're competing for qualifying times,

you want the first 200 meters or so of a swim to be all out,

so that you can get on the fastest tow as possible,

and try to get as many people behind you as possible

so you don't get knocked around.

Another spot that I wanna show you here.

We're lining up as if we're at a line.

You can see that we're kind of shaking out our hands.

You wanna always stay warm so that you're ready to go

and you're not letting anything settle,

even just for the few seconds.

You wanna get to a start line,

whether it's a deep water start or a beach start,

pretty close to like the heart rate conditioning

that you're gonna be at when you go.

You don't wanna go from like totally sedentary to bam,

because your body's not gonna be ready for it.

See that Pat, we were just kind of goofing around,

but he's shaking his hands out, he's getting ready,

he's crouching back, and then bam.

We went off.

We did our two little skips and then dove into the water.

Oh, here's a trick for diving into thew water.

When you're diving into the water in a race,

one of the tricks that I like to do is instead of putting

my swim cap on and then my goggles,

I like to put my goggles on and then put a swim cap

over top of it.

You're not gonna have people that are picking away

at the strap, it's gonna be harder for your goggles

to be knocked off.

And then when you have the instance like this right here,

where we dive in, oh hello slow motion.

(upbeat music)

And your face smacks the water, you're not gonna have

your goggles that go whoa!

Because what typically happens when your face smacks

the water is this little lip at the top of the goggles

catches water and it wants to be pulled off.

But if you've got the goggles that are just kind of

overlapping it with one cap or two swim caps

if it's really cold, it's not gonna be knocked off.

So your face can hit the water.

But what you do is you put your arms way overhead,

tuck your chin down to your chest so that your forehead

is gonna hit the water, not your goggles,

giving you a black eye, and then you're good to go.

Plus, you look awesome like this.

Like everyone will be intimidated, they'll be like,

"man I gotta change out my goggles look."

And there's one really good angle of Pat going out

that I wanted to show you here at the end.

Oh, who's this stud coming in?

Right there.

That's exactly what I'm talking about with scooting your leg

over the water.

So as you run in, run in full gas like you normally would

when you're just running all out, and hit that point

where you feel like you gotta scoot your leg a little bit

over the water, kick it just slightly out to the side

to lift it over the surface of the water

so it's not dragging, throwing you off balance,

and then, when you get to about knee-height

and it's too hard to hop over the water,

then do your little dive.

Bam.

You started a race, and you've ripped the Band-Aid off,

and then it's all smooth sailing after that, because we,

as Trainiacs, have done the work beforehand to be ready

for the race.

You just gotta get started.

(grunts)

That ride this morning, Trainiacs, was foggy.

It was fun.

I took a sprint, but man it was foggy.

It was so foggy, that when we'd stand up to sprint,

everyone had drips of, like, humidity that was coming off

the top of their helmet.

We looked good.

We looked good when we rolled into that Starbucks.

(upbeat music)

Just gotta make a quick trip to the little cyclist's room.

(upbeat music)

Hey do you guys remember when I used to wear shirts?

No?

Me neither.

Coach Pat has me on tap for a very meat and potatoes-y

kind of race pace run, about 8K.

Little bits above race pace.

I'm gonna do it barefoot to make sure that my tootsies

don't blister up while I'm going barefoot in these shoes.

Cold.

Nothing feels good like a cold heart rate strap.

Alright, you ready?

I'm ready.

I'll explain why the race-specific run when I come back.

When I explain the run.

Okay, gotta go.

(upbeat music)

Almost caught a car crash on tape there.

8.4 kilometers in 37 minutes on the nose.

That is about 5.1 miles

at a 425 per kilometer pace.

705 per mile.

And in that, I did five times one minute above race pace.

And the rest of it was around zone two, being like,

half-Ironman pace.

The reason why we're doing that, is because 10 days from now

we're gonna do like, a screw off Olympic race

where we're just gonna use it for testing and do some things

that I wouldn't normally do on an Olympic race

to try to get some metrics that we'll use

for half-Ironman Austin.

That was one breath.

So, we start doing some race pace stuff right now.

Oh, my heart rate is connected.

Oh, okay, good to know now.

See how the tootsies are doing.

(grunts)

Okay, okay, little bit of a blister.

Well, to be expected, I haven't run barefoot in months.

Alright Trainiacs, that's a day.

How to paint a door, fast and easy ! - Duration: 7:25.

We are back, Today. I'm going to show you how to paint a door. Painting a door is one of the most things

What happens in a home.

It is basic training

When you know how to paint the door you can paint everything. This is quite complex door of course...

It's got a small edge here, and it's got nice

How you call that?

the small Lines here

So it takes a lot of work

What you do is that you start with,

the Edges !

and this is the most difficult part because you have to cut

The glass I always start from the bottom You see me turning my brush ?

Thing is when you paint the door you always start from the inside and you work yourself to the outside

You don't do it otherwise. You always start with the difficult,

inside Edges !

It's all about technique what you learn in basic training is that don't take too much paint just a little tip

and

rotate

Your paintbrush just a little bit !

Okay, here. We go again. Just a little bit of paint not too much put on

And turn your brush and again we go back any straight line

Okay

Then we've got this the inside. We've got ready then we go through the top we go down

We don't start here though. It was here. It's wet. So we have to change these parts first

So what we do first is where's the top?

Cut down these quickly

Okay, and I'll take my roller again

And use the roller we're faster

Okay, then we have to cut the lock open the door a little bit

We come a little bit closer because I'm going to show you how to cut that lock just a little bit of paint

Normally people would put some paint

One side on the metal. I don't do that. It's all hand worked. I'm going to teach you how to do it

It's all about practice do it a lot the more you do it the better the results will be

again from the top to the bottom long strokes nice results

Okay, now we're down here

And we go to the other side of the lock

All about the steady hands, it's all basic training

and there you go I

Use the Roller all of it

because

With the Roller you get another structure then with the brush

so think about it and

Roll those parts what you cut with the brush roll it

Okay, and the next step is then first we do those deeper parts, and we just want to do first

goes really quick not too much paint, but you let you pencil in it and

And you go, and you see me turn that every us you see that

All the pages going there's no paint left you see that exams that means

Roll it out and back

That's how it works

door like this

Takes me five minutes, so I'm teaching you how to do it. So he took me a little bit longer but

When you practice it a lot

You can do it also in five minutes

It's all about practicing

Okay, then we do to the vertical

Steeper parts

Okay, there you go. All you need

We take your roller again not too much paint

Yep

And I do too why I do too because I've got more paint than I need it's like to do three you can also

Take it from here. Move it up there

and

Don.t put it in the middle because then you can see it, this is high glossy paint it's all about; start in the corner, move to the right etc...
