I talked about our members a lot when I was running the program,

so when I'm sharing the stories of our members on the show,

MOANA Cake Wreath How To Cook That Disney Cake - Duration: 7:05.

Welcome to HowToCookThat I am Ann Reardon and I'm still getting heaps of requests for

a Moana cake!

We fish beyond the reef.

So here is an easy one for you with no fondant at all, all the decorations are completely

edible.

This week's notification squad shout out goes to Megan, Allie, Karen, Aminah, Esmee, Wasan,

To make this cake the first thing we need to do is make up a double batch of my rich

chocolate cake recipe.

And the recipe video for that and all the details that you need are on the howtocookthat.net

website and I'll link you to that below.

You want to bake that in a loose based round cake tin with a smaller tin or you could use

a cup in the centre, and to weigh that down and stop it floating away and to make it a

bit higher I am using a Pyrex dish on top of that.

Then I'm going to tie some baking paper around the outside, this is just so if it rises up

above the edges it's not going to overflow in the oven it's going to stay in the cake

tin.

Bake that and then once it's cooled remove the paper and use a knife to run it around

the baking tin in the middle and also right around the outside.

Loosen the outside part of the tin and take that off.

Then carefully pull the centre tin out just pushing out with your fingers and lifting

it up at the same time, giving it a wriggle and take that out of the middle there.

Transfer that onto a cake board and then level off the top of your cake, using a knife to

make it all nice and even and all the same level across the top.

Use a serrated knife to cut a small piece off from around the top of the cake, just

making it more rounded and a bit more wreath shaped.

And then you want to do the same thing at the bottom, just use your knife to cut little

chunks, cutting in towards the base so the base matches the top.

Finally you want to trim around the centre on the inside to make that slope inwards and

we have our wreath shape.

Make up a batch of buttercream and add in some green food coloring and any flavouring

of your choice.

Now remember all the recipes on how to make buttercream are on the website and that link

is below.

Remove some of your frosting and then add more green colouring and then do that again

so that you end up with three different shades of green.

Drizzle some simple syrup on top of your cake.

Now simple syrup is just made of equal quantities of sugar and water and you just heat it up

in the microwave until the sugar is dissolved.

And putting it on the cake just helps keep the cake super moist.

Now cover the whole cake with the deepest green colour buttercream that you have, just

a really thin coat just to catch all the crumbs and to make it easier to do the next step.

Place the rest of your buttercream onto some plastic wrap, wrap it up from each side and

then make a tube of frosting just squeeze it to spread it out there, then hold onto

each end and give it a spin to twist up the ends.

Repeat that with the other two colours then trim it off close on one side of your tube

just using some scissors there.

Place all of those into a piping bag and using these 3 different colours is just going to

give us some variation on the leaves instead of just having the one green colour on the

whole thing.

Begin to pipe some leaves onto the wreath working your way all the way around until

the whole thing is covered.

Now take some compound white chocolate or tempered real chocolate and mix in some powdered

food colouring.

Using a leaf that has been washed and dried really well, paint chocolate onto the back

of the leaf.

And then run your finger along the underneath to make sure there is no chocolate wrapping

around to the back, then place that on some baking paper to set.

Repeat that with more leaves then once they are all set you can just peel off the leaf

back and you end up with a chocolate leaf with all the veins and pattern from the real

leaf.

To make the flowers simply pipe some little drops of chocolate that has been coloured

using some red oil based food colouring.

Lift up your baking paper and give it a little shake and let it run down slightly.

Place another sheet of baking paper over the top and then using the side of your thumb

flatten out each petal by gently rubbing on it.

Then roll up the baking paper in a loose roll and leave those to set.

Once it's set, unroll it slightly and remove that top layer of baking paper.

And then gently roll back the underneath layer to release each of those petals off the paper,

being careful because these are super thin so they're very delicate but it just makes

them look like real petals when they're this thin.

Make yourself a ring using foil so we can support our petals and place a dollop of your

green chocolate right in the centre.

Take five of your petals and place them around in a circle just overlap each one next to

the one before it, all the way back around until you get to the start.

Continue doing that, making more chocolate flowers so that you have enough to go around

the whole wreath.

Once the centre of the flowers is set, dust some powdered food colouring around the centre

to make the deeper colour like you can see on Moana's wreath.

Tip it upside down and tap your hand to get rid of any excess powder and there you have

a pretty chocolate flower.

Add them into place gently pressing them into the buttercream being careful not the break

your petals.

Then add your chocolate leaves around each of the flowers so that your wreath looks even

more realistic.

You can't wear it of course but you can eat it ... perfect for a Moana party!

Yup that's it

30 minutes... 30 minutes is how long right now takes

Apart from that... I'm satisfied with my roommate

WEI talks to himself too often

I mean I wouldn't really mind it,

Answering your performance engine building and tuning questions

Mark's asked, "Have you used

an open source tuning software to refresh a stock ECU?"

Yes, absolutely.

I've spent a large part of my professional career

tuning both Subaru and Mitsubishi

using open source software.

So yes, very well versed.

I used ECU Flash, EvoScan, and Rom Raider as

the software packages that I was familiar with dealing with

in open source tuning.

Now, I'll just mention that as well.

With open source tuning, it's definitely a very valid

way of making tuning changes on some of those

more popular platforms such as Subaru, Mitsubishi.

One of the problems with the open source software

options is that they're obviously, as the name implies,

open source, they're developed and run by a community

of enthusiasts, so as compared to a commercial software

package, you're generally not getting a huge amount of help.

You may find that definitions for some of the

ECUs your tuning are not complete,

or maybe even worse, may be incorrect.

And you may find that there are maps,

but there's really little information or any clues

as to what they exactly do.

This is also traded off of course

because they are cheap or free, so

that's the draw card there.

And if you are technically inclined

and you are quite happy to spend hours

trawling through internet forums, usually you can get

the answers to your specific questions.

Commercial software on the other hand,

developed a lot more thoroughly,

usually with thorough help files, and also with the ability

to get manufacturer support either by email

or via the phone, so this is ideal for those who

aren't particularly familiar with tuning,

and really feel like they're going to need

their hand held a little bit more

through the tuning process.

Of course, you will be paying for that privilege.

im going to start by using this toner

isn't the bottle so cute

this is rose scented but the scent is not strong so i like it

before using this i used to a different rose toner

but it broke me out when i first used it

so i was worried this was going to break me out too

but it didn't!! so i think it's good for sensitive skin

this is really hydrating

so i recommend for dry skin but also for combination

it doesn't leave any weird sticky feeling

next is this emulsion, and i use this pretty heavily

this moisturizer is a very light and fast absorbing product

this is also good for dry and combination skin

next is this suncream with spf 50 pa+++

this has a slight pink tint which brightens the face

there is a mint colored one for red skin

it looks really glowy and almost oily

but it doesnt have that typical sticky suncream feeling

it makes the skin feel so good i almost use it as a primer

next i'll be using this foundation i got as a sample from sephora

the lighting makes me look WAY more white

i swear i dont look like this lol

then i'll be concealing my dark circles

and with a loose powder i'll set my under eyes

for eyes i'll be using this palette

i'll then mix these two colors

then i'll use a glittery orange shadow for the middle of the lid

then put the rose gold shade on top

then i'll use this super glittery shade for inner corners

then line my eyes with a gel liner

i'm going to do my brows off camera

next is curling my lashes

i'll be using this pigment for inner corners

i'm going to use half of a lash for ends of my eyes

then i'll bronze my face a bit

next is blush!

i'm going to contour my nose now

i'm going to line my lips

then use this bright color for the inside part of the lips

lastly i'm going to highlight using the same pigment

"Kuvalda.ru" logo end grain board - Duration: 13:46.

I have to make the board with the logo of online tool shop "Kuvalda.ru" (Sledgehammer)

It will be decorative, not cutting board, with lacquer finishing

This is a simple project

There are three layers: kuvalda - padauk, .ru - wenge , white edging - maple

The board itself will be made of black walnut

I have to make video and show the whole process

I got the payment by clamps

I took two Bessey rapid-action lever clamps

and several Bessey pipe clamps

I have to test them

These are standard pipe clamps but in addition they have the legs

This is a Russian brand Enkor clamp

It don't have legs and can fall to the side

This is useful when you assemble the panel right on the clamps

I use another method: plastic tubes as support

Now I can't say anything about the quality

There are plastiс covers to protect the glued parts when assembling furniture

But I have to say that these clamps are four times more expensive than Enkor clamps

First I will make maple V-inlay

This inlay will be 1 mm deeper than the next inlays

Then padauk inlay and wenge inlay

I will make a groove on the back side for the wall mounting

Padauk and wenge inlays will be inserted into the maple inlay

So this inlay must be pressed and dried very well

The padauk and wenge pockets are the same, so I will mill them at once

I place the board exactly at the same place as during the first milling

You can see that the first pocket is deeper, the bit didn't reach the walnut

The padauk and wenge inlays will be glued to the maple

I am satisfied with the result. The thickness of the white line is the same around the text.

Next - sanding and finishing

It is time to test the clamps

The legs can be useful for many woodworkers, but I don't need them

What can I say?

The clamps are good. They allow to create big pressure

There are four knives to fix well

That's all I can say now
