Waching daily Oct 4 2017

Hi guys, if you don't know, I'm Karen Kavett and today I was asked by Hatchimals

to make some DIYs to celebrate Hatchimals Day on the 6th of October.

That's the day when the new Hatchimals Surprise toy is coming to Michaels Stores.

And if you didn't already know, Hatchimals are an interactive toy that you get to hatch

out of the egg yourself.

So to get ready for Hatchimals Day, and to celebrate the arrival of my new baby Hatchimal,

I'm going to be throwing a Hatchy Birthday Party - get it, it's like Happy Birthday,

but Hatchy Birthday.

I, I thought it was cute.

So, I have three DIYs for you if you want to throw a Hatchy Birthday Party too - one

of them is super easy, one is a little more involved, and then the last one is a little

more difficult for if you and your Hatchimal are feeling very ambitious.

But you can do them, I promise, I'm gonna break it down for you step by step, so let's

get started.

First of all, it's not a birthday party without party hats.

I'm going to be using this glittery, shiny craft paper which you can get at Michaels.

But before we get to that, grab some scrap paper and trace something round like a bowl

from your kitchen onto it.

Then cut it out, and cut it in half.

Trace that onto the back of your glitter paper and cut that out too.

Now carefully bend it into a party hat shape and then use hot glue to glue it in place.

If you're using a thinner paper than this, you could use a glue stick or double sided

tape instead.

But for my paper only hot glue would hold it in place.

And if you're not old enough to use a hot glue gun on your own, make sure that you ask

a grown-up for help.

Once that's cooled down, we of course need a pom pom for the top, so use more hot glue

to glue that on there.

And then use a hole punch to add holes to each side of the hat and tie on a piece of

elastic.

And that's it.

You've made a mini party hat perfect to celebrate a Hatchy Birthday.

Ok this next one is a little bit harder, but trust me, you can do it.

We're making a Hatchy Birthday banner to decorate our birthday party.

For this you'll need two sheets of craft paper - the same glitter paper we used earlier,

another piece of paper of your choice, and some small letter stickers.

All of these supplies are available at Michaels.

First, grab some scrap paper and fold it in half.

Cut off one of the corners to make a triangle, and trim it down until you like the size.

Cut a second triangle the same way so you have one big and one small.

Then flip over your scrapbook paper and trace the small triangle 15 times.

Do the same thing with the glitter paper and the big triangle.

Go ahead and cut those out.

Now use a glue stick to glue the small triangle right on top of the big triangle.

Then add your letter stickers to spell Hatchy Birthday!

Now you'll need string and a small hole punch.

Carefully punch two holes in the top of each triangle.

Then string them on so it looks like a banner.

Lay the two banners next to each other and tie the strings together, and you're done.

You can hang this up with colorful tape and it makes the perfect DIY decoration for your

Hatchy Birthday Party.

So we've got our party hat, we've got our decoration, now we need a birthday cake.

Start with an empty roll of duct tape and carefully use scissors to cut out a section

from it.

This can be a little difficult, so don't be afraid to ask a grown-up for help.

Then trace that circle onto a cereal box and mark the section that you cut out.

Draw lines into the center and then cut out both of those shapes.

You'll need two of them, so trace them and cut them out again.

Then cut rectangles to fit on the inside of that wedge you cut out.

Now we're going to hot glue all of the pieces together.

Take your time, you'll want to be very, very careful with this step.

Start with the top and the bottom and then add the rectangles and you can see how it

starts to look like a cake.

Do the same thing with the piece you cut out to make the missing piece of cake.

This step is optional, but to add some texture and to look like frosting, I also covered

the entire top of the cake with more hot glue.

Once all of the glue is dry, paint it white, and now is the fun part - you can decorate

your cake any way you like.

If you don't have paint like I'm using here, you could use markers or whatever you

have - let your imagination run wild.

To add decorations to the cake, I like using 3D puffy paint which again, I bought at Michaels,

and it adds so much texture just like cake frosting.

Let the paint dry completely, and now you have make a super cute birthday cake for your

Hatchimal's super cute birthday party.

Well I don't know about you, but I think we are ready for our Hatchimals Day party.

Now I just have to wait for this one to finish hatching so I can raise it from a baby to

a toddler to a kid.

And if you get one too, you can unlock new ways to play at each stage.

I just love being able to be creative and make accessories for toys using stuff that

was just found all around my house, so I hope you guys liked all of these DIYs.

If you want to get your own Hatchimals Surprise, they are available at Michaels Stores on the

6th of October, and make sure that you stay tuned to my Instagram on the same day so that

you can find out which Hatchimal I've got hatching from my egg.

Thank you guys so much for watching, I'll see you all next time.

Winter business for owner / employee Parking lots - Duration: 2:01.

Idea for those who work in the Parking lot (or owns) in the Central and Northern strip of Russia. Works great in the winter! Bought KAMAZ (at least - KAMAZ) battery and put on the sled. At the entrance to the Parking lot (designed for 150-200 cars at least) hang up the announcement - "primerka - 30 RUB" (or 50 rubles). If the temperature is below 20 degrees, then the daily revenue 1500-2000 RUB on the warmer days less. Line up!!! Everything - cars, and Lada, etc. At night, the battery is charged - day works. It is often even half a day is not enough. Today again it is necessary to charge those who wants! For 2 months this winter + end of November, profit more than 60 thousand. One more thing: Hang up the announcement - clearing the ground of snow - RUB 100 (or 50). There are people from nearby houses, drunks of all sorts, they'll do it for 20 rubles. Only shovels they need to buy. And while the client has left - his place clean! Half an hour and all work. Clean out to asphalt! Willing - fully, especially after the second snowfall for the winter. (All after the first think they do is easy so imagine the place will clear in 5 minutes...) To take charge someone else's batteries, take it for 100-200 RUB. (including all service - measurement of the density of the electrolyte, charging, etc.). If the Parking lot on 300 - you can open melkoshtuchnyh repair, tire shop (in spring and autumn good collecting money) and a full sink. You can, of course, with a rag from a bucket to wash, but it is not listed.

How to Eat More Food to Gain Weight (For Skinny Guys & Girls) - Duration: 5:04.

yo its Rady here and I'm gonna be telling you how to eat more food so you

can gain weight listen up skinny guys who have a hard time eating I'm just

like you I have a hard time eating and I know in the past I've had a really hard

time eating so far in my bulk because of these three things I'm gonna share with

you I've had a much easier time eating more food alright I'm hitting the 3,000

calorie goal that I'm like really that's it I could eat more but I'm holding

myself back if you haven't seen my tracking your gains video it's

yesterday's video make sure to check that out it's gonna describe how I'm

tracking my calories to how much I'm weighing so I don't get too much fat as

I bulk up now let's get into the first thing that you can do to increase the

amount of food you're gonna eat and that is stomach stretching I made a video

prior to this up here I'm gonna post it so you can see it but basically this is

having pre-planned meals ideally before you start bulking but you can still do

it during the bulk where you sit down and you consume large amounts of

vegetables and water and things like watermelon things are gonna expand your

stomach and stretch you these are gonna be very uncomfortable meals to have but

they're important they're almost like a workout all right you train your muscles

to get bigger this is training your stomach to get bigger for more details

on that method that I used I use this in September before I started my bulk make

sure to watch the video the number 2 thing I do is that I start early as soon

as I get up and I use the bathroom I already have my meals prepared alright I

make my meals at night so I can start right away in the morning alright I

don't take an hour to to make breakfast and start eating you got to start eating

right away just have a small portion don't cram yourself don't fill yourself

to the top I know this is almost counterintuitive to what most people say

is that you have to be uncomfortably full all the time but because of the way

I'm managing my weight to calories ratio it seems that I don't actually have to

be absolutely uncomfortably stuffed now I know this is against the norm I'm not

saying there's anything wrong with being uncomfortably stuff I just really don't

like it and I haven't had that problem so far in my bulk because of the stomach

stretching that I did prior to it and because of my third tip right here and

that is I've been using these jars alright I bought nine of these jars 500

milliliters for five dollars Canadian from a dollar store and basically I

cooked my food and I pack it in these little jars these little jars look like

nothing to me alright I look at it like okay that's it I don't I have to eat

like six seven or maybe eight of these jars a day and I can kind of kneel them

together and break it down gradually so what I used to do was have like big

Tupperware that I had to carry and they're very uncomfortable to carry

these jars you can walk down the street and eat your food in them all right you

can have them in the car it's not uncomfortable undo the lid scoop with a

fork down the pipe okay it's easy so yeah the psychology of it is just it

looks really small to me and therefore I can do it and I can handle it

plus everything's pre pre packaged for me and if you need to carry it somewhere

it's not like a Tupperware container it's like a sealed lid so it's not gonna

spill which is really nice alright and it takes up way less room they're much

easier to pack than those big Tupperware containers because I used to pack those

big Tupperware containers it really sucks carrying them around because I

like glass not plastic if you eat out of plastic containers you

will start absorbing that plastic so I highly recommend if you can go with

glass it's a much better alternative especially if you're putting hot food in

it like I bake my food at night it's hot and I pour it in and then I just let it

sit and cool put it in the fridge and I have all my meals ready for the next day

I do all my fitness pal stuff for the day in advance so I just put it all in

one block I make it easy I don't I don't go like 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. 12:00 to

4:00 you can certainly meal space it but for

me I just kind of try and eat constantly as best as I can but not worrying too

much about the timing yet alright so I'm kind of like a beginner at this I have

all this information but to put into practice you want to do the things you

can do you want to keep it simple so that you're not doing way too many

complex things at once so yeah that's what I do so much isn't

this pal I try and just do like one slot for most of my food and the way I do it

is I use my rotation diet if you haven't grabbed that make sure to do it it's

really been helping me as well not feeling full not getting sick of

eating the same foods because I rotate them and basically just being able to do

these three things one increase stomach capacity stomach stretching to starting

earlier so you have more time in the day and three using the jars will help you

get gains faster okay make sure to subscribe if you want to get them gains

and I'll catch you in the next one see

1st Week Back| Why did I join Youtube? - Duration: 14:22.

hey guys welcome to my channel Foster's homes this is my first video and I'm

gonna be talking about my first week of college why I joined YouTube and where

I see my channel going so let's get right into it

So the first week of college I moved into my new apartment as you can see

I promise this wall won't always be so like else all you can see right now is this painting that I

painted at some welcoming event hey speaking of Welcome Week after I moved

in welcome week started which is like this full week of events for college

students to go to you can do things like paint there's informational sessions

library tours so many things that you can do and get involved in and things

like that we live in to a couple because a lot of them are for freshmen like a

library tour we've been here for a year we know how it is we don't really need

to get a tour of the library but I'm gonna skip to the last event of Welcome

Week which is SOVO fair which is where all these embarrassing things

happen to me so SOVO Fair is on Friday it's it's a

fair where you can join a bunch of new organizations clubs whatever get

involved all that good stuff and so me my roommate was also my friend

um either since my freshman year of high school

hey I know you're watching my roommate slash friend and my other friend I've

known that I met in high school we all went to the servo fair to like because

we're like village and some clubs I'm gonna get involved this year and the

friend that's not a roommate she's a freshman so you know she wanted to get

involved obviously so we get there and it's at this place called the student

Commons which is like I don't even know why the quote unquote like that's

actually what it's called the student Commons and it's kind of like a hangout

place and it's also kind of like a food court and so outside of the Commons is

the compass and that's where all the frats sororities

religious clubs a dance club and some culture clubs are out there and sports

clubs and so we went out there first like walked around with around I joined

a club like a cultural Club with Filipino club and I put my name down for

this Bible study club but I'm I'm a kidding I'm not gonna go to that and

love God but I'm not gonna go to a Bible study club I joined a radio Club because

my minor is public relations and I wouldn't mind working for radio and I

want to work for magazine company so just kind of made sense yeah that was

that for all the clubs are out there we just like walked around there was free

ice cream so we got some of that then once you go inside the Commons is like

an upstairs part so there's a first floor which is like a food court then

upstairs which are like these rooms like big big rooms that they call the

ballrooms and one Ballroom it was like more like

dance type clubs singing clubs and educational clubs because it was it was

like a public relations type thing like I guess if you want to know more about

the major and the minor there was like a cup of that and then in another room it

was like all the sciences and the communities things like that like if you

want to build hospitals for kids that are less fortunate and go to other

countries and do stuff like that it really comes for that too so we go

upstairs and there's this club like when you first walk in and they're an

acapella Club I mean like come to your clubs your club yeah you know people try

to like recruit people and so they're like oh whoa can you guys sing come to a

club and I was like well I don't really like I'm not the best singer I don't

really I don't really think I'm that good it's a game and the guys like oh

well if you have a friend that can sing can you get them you join our club and I

was just like dang like what is your brought like okay like have your

infinite Onix like not you don't need to know how to sing

I'm not saying nobody men don't sing sing cuz I love Anna tonics but I can

own the beat I can do like I could do that in a club like I

don't need to be Beyonce but whatever so I was like okay day and

then like somebody else in my club was like hey do you guys wanna join our club

and I was like hey your member already like turned us away and told us to go

find a friend so no and I'm actually sounds really mean now that I'm saying

it back there like that are you gonna get hurt my field so then after that

like big look for more clubs but we can really find any Oh a setup for this club

that was like another public relations tech club I started for that and then we

like left we went to third room and it was like all like it was like KSA like

this Korean Club a Chinese Club Vietnamese Club a Japanese club and I

think like a Bengali club and at the opium club another African club like it

was a bunch of different clubs so we walk in and we passed this table that's

like full of like Koreans and it's for it's like a Korean Club and I'm

interested in Korean culture in the language so I've been thinking about

joining that Club for a long time but I've been on the fence about it because

I hear you only can speak Korean and especially last year I wasn't that good

at it I know more words now but I don't really speak Korean fluently like I

can't live here with the holder conversation like I can speak to you in

konglish but not in the full Korean I could probably like say a sentence or two and that's

it and so I was kind of nervous about joining that club because I didn't want

to be the only one not speaking Korean and just kind of being like left

out but here the best thing for you to do is to get yourself around people that

speak the language that you can get better at it so I was like okay whatever

but I was looking anxiety and I didn't really want to go to the table but my

roommate was like oh well come with you like come on like you can do it let's go

so then I like built up all this courage and I went to the table and I was like

um hey and so there was a guy standing in front of his table in front of the

table can I speak and a girl and then behind the girl was like another girl so

then I was like "Hey!" and the guy was just kind of like and the girl was just kind of

like so then I was just kind of saying that I really like is somebody gonna let

me doing this club so then the girl that standing standing behind the other girl

comes she's like hey my name is I don't remember her name so we'll call her

Jessica I don't know came and was like "Hey my names Jessica" and I was like okay and introduced myself

and she was like are you interested in Korean culture and I was like yeah like

definitely her and she was like I think the clubs over there would be better for

you and the club's 'over there' were KSA which is Koreans student Association

and a club called 4NE1 now KSA had been known in the past to just be

about kpop but it's not it's more about like Korean culture and you know meeting

our people that are that love Korean culture just like exchanging that just

having fun and like learning how to make Korean foods and stuff like that and

like that's really cool and on like I could join that Club but I want to learn

the language and then 4NE1 is more about kpop learning kpop dances

doing flash mobs and stuff like that and I'm just not really interested in that

at all yeah I'm just not interested in that and so it was kind of like she

thought I was just like a Koreaboo trying to join the club Koreaboo is the

same as weeaboo if people do not know a weeaboo it is somebody that appropriates

Japanese culture and wants to be Japanese fetishizes Japanese people and

I think that's pretty much it and so it's the same thing for Korea boo just

for Korean culture basically so I think she thought I was just like one of the

people that I were just like I love kpop every king

I know I don't care about anything else in Korean culture I just love kpop I

hear all the men look like the men in kpop videos in Korea like is that true

and that was not the case and so I get why she kind of turned me away kind of

but at the same time it was kind of a microaggression because it was like you

don't know if I speak Korean you just asked me if I was interested in the

culture you don't know if I speak it you don't know if I grew up there you don't

know if I just came back from Korea and like I'm fluent in it you don't know if

I'm half Korean and just look more black and Korean like you have no clue and she

just didn't let me join the club which I'm pretty sure goes against some type

of like regulation but it's whatever it's fine

I'll just you know come back next year fluent in Korean and when they're like

oh we're interested in the culture I'll just respond in Korean and be like no

I'm actually here because I hear this club as we will that only speak Korean

or that are fluent in Korean and I'm fluent now but yeah so that happened and

like it did hurt my feelings a little bit like I was a little peeved off

because I was like I'm in dang like again dang like you don't know if I'm

fluent you don't know anything about me you just ask me thought there's a

certain culture if you wanted to know do I speak Korean or not you should have

been like are you fluent and creating it and then if I would have said no but

then I can understand her being like yeah well this is when people that are

exchange students with Korea will be with I speak fluent Korean and I would

have been like okay like and that's understandable but yeah microaggressions

so after all that happened we left the Silva affair we went

thirsting then I grabbed lunch with my friend and my roommate went back home so

I go to my friend's apartment or yeah her dorm and she's like asking me to

help her look for outfits for this party tonight I'm helping her and I'm like

you know whatever and then so I help her pick out an outfit that I go back home

because I'm gonna get ready for this party but um so we get ready and then we

have this thing called it's well it's like an uber and you're supposed to call

it but sometimes I think forever to get here and it's nuts I backed up and they

don't get your call or they cancel your freaking call and it's ridiculous and so

we were trying to figure out where our uber were supposed to drop us off at and

the parties kept even shut down and canceled so we really you know what

forget it we're gonna go get pizza just forget partying parties will always

be there we'll party some other night so we go we get pizza Arbour finally comes

let me go get pizza and then so we're coming back and my sidewalks are not

paved well and so we were walking back and I had two boxes of pizza and I and

one for my other roommate and I literally trip and there's just cars

that's like pulling up that's like pulling up to like the stoplight cuz

like we're in front of like now they go well yeah kind of like a main road and

this car is like full of boys and they're all like shouting out the window

hey we saw that we saw that we saw a trip Wow we saw you trip oh and I'm like

oh my god like this is so they're like they're literally screaming this like to

the point where my roommate that was inside the apartments that she could

hear screaming outside and so I was screaming back at them oh yeah that's so

funny I'm dying I'm laughing I'm Kiki Kiki I

am dying and like I was just so embarrassed like I was like wow like of

all the homes to try so they were just like screaming that and they rode off

into the night dramatic I know and so then we go inside and like I'm

embarrassed so I'm like oh my god that was so embarrassing like I'm gonna kill

myself and these boys are in fluff and they're in the mailroom and they just

look at me like shook like they're like

so I'm like oh my oh my god so all that happened that night I went

up inside ate my pizza and I cried myself to sleep it was a really

interesting day and so that leads me into why I joined YouTube by doing

YouTube to tell these weird stories that happen to me sometimes but also to use

it as a creative outlet to get my thoughts out there to let people really

know you know how I think why I think this you know how I'm feeling things

like that and I think it was probably really therapeutic and I see my channel

just being a place where people can come and like discuss their opinions and

their thoughts and you know and like whether it be family friends like the

audience anybody like can come and be like hey

this is what I feel about this and like me to comment on it or like if I'm you

know talking with my friends me my friends to comment on it like I'm also

gonna try to do like a podcast channel so I'll have the chit chats and like sit

down with them but I probably will also do it on my main youtube channel which

is like confusing but yeah like I just I needed a creative outlet another one and

I thought YouTube would be a good way to do that and I've been thinking about

joining means you've literally since fertilized I remember literally since

middle school but I record videos and then have this habit of never posting

them but finally I'm posting my first video so you for watching if you sat

through all of that all that awkwardness and all of my blinking and not looking

directly at the camera thank you and I hope to put up more content

and I will see you soon thanks for watching bye

I just remember talking to one girl and she's like

Oh, well you did it. You blew down the twin towers you're Muslim you did it.

I didn't realize that I had PTSD in high school

I didn't understand what it was to be a Muslim without struggle. Without someone who was the antithesis to me

And who was trying to be combative with me

[newscast] On September 11th 2001. It was very, very very difficult to see. Two airplanes have crashed

into the World Trade Center.

There are no words.

The day after 9/11 was very

Hazy

I watched the Towers fall the evening before but I couldn't grasp it. I thought okay well. We'll rebuild them everything will be fine.

When I went to school the teachers seemed very

panicked.

I was a very sociable young girl the other students that I thought were my friends

felt very uncomfortable around me. They didn't want to speak with me during recess or in between classes.

Students would beat me up at lunch grab me throw things at me kick me spit on me.

I was hit so badly by these boys. I wasn't able to breathe.

The nurse just shrugged it off saying oh, you'll be fine. Don't worry about it

It was that moment where my childhood shifted for the next 10 years.

Pre 9/11 I was very proud of my Muslim identity

I was proud of the fact that I had a very Muslim name a name unlike all the other students

I wasn't a Stephanie. I wasn't a Maria I was a Farzanna.

Post-911 all of that stopped. We stopped listening to the music we stopped watching the television shows my father stopped practicing.

All I remember is that

Islam became a topic that became increasingly hush-hush within my household. They told me to embrace this staunch

Americanism. Really sanitize my Muslim identity by virtue of assimilation I would be successful

and if I was successful that meant I was safe.

I developed a very strong relationship with my faith. I was constantly thinking about God.

Partially because it made me feel less lonely. It made me feel like I had someone there.

I practice a faith that sustained me and quite literally kept me alive as I graduated that Catholic school and

entered high school

There were other students other Muslim students who were struggling with depression with mental illness and many of my friends were self-harming

Self-mutilating I didn't do that, but I was strongly considering suicide

That's what my parents really started to get involved in my adolescence

But they never acknowledged mental illness in any capacity they just thought I needed discipline

they didn't see it as me having mental illness or having PTSD or

experiencing trauma.

I am a part-time research technician at Brooklyn College in the Department of Chemistry.

This has catapulted my research interests in mental health and

neuropsychiatric disorders like depression post-traumatic stress disorder and general anxiety disorders.

Being able to molecularly categorize these illnesses as they affect many individuals in our community

amidst the trying political times and folks within the Muslim community.

Giving scientific validation to the fact that these pathologies do exist.

This autumn was very difficult for me; I was getting to a point in my activism where I was attending marches,

I was writing about the abuses that Muslim folks experienced in New York City in this country

And in the wake of the growing Islamophobic rhetoric circa the election it was becoming

overwhelming. It was triggering to me so many fears of my own childhood growing up in a political climate where

You are hated, and you have to develop a personality based on everyone and everything hating you.

It's like lying beneath a building you learn to live beneath that building beneath any institution that refuses to acknowledge and validate who you are.
