Soviet Union launches Sputnik 1 - 10/4/1957 - Duration: 0:46.

Today in military history, 1957,

the Soviet Union launches Sputnik 1,

becoming the first country to put a satellite in space.

Sputnik was a small metal sphere capable

of broadcasting radio pulses strong enough

to be picked up even by amateur radio operators.

It was visible all around the globe,

much to the dismay of Americans.

At best, it meant the Soviets would surpass the Americans

in technological achievements.

But at worst, it meant the Soviet Union was one step closer

to putting weapons in orbit around the Earth.

The US scrambled to match the Soviet's achievement,

and the Space Race had officially begun.

The Untold Truth Of Kat Dennings - Duration: 5:55.

Kat Dennings, whose real name is Katherine Victoria Litwack, was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

on June 13th, 1986.

The beauty was bitten by the acting bug at a young age and started her career by appearing

in commercials and making cameos on both the small and big screens.

Today we know her best as sarcastic and witty Max Black on CBS's 2 Broke Girls.

As her career continues to bloom, here are some super surprising facts all Kat Dennings

fans need to know.

She was home-schooled

Instead of attending a traditional school, Dennings was home-schooled by her parents

and completed her high school curriculum when she was just 14 years old.

Although she's called the experience "good," the actress has also admitted to Complex in

2011 that, when she began nearing the end of her studies,

"I just couldn't deal with being in the tiny room with my parents anymore."

How did she resolve that situation?

She took control of her education on her own, graduating much sooner than many of her peers.

When asked by Complex if she thinks she bypassed the social side of school, she said,

"I think there's an element of that, but nothing I missed.

Nothing that hurt me."

Parental approval

When Dennings first decided that she wanted to pursue an acting career, her parents were

less than thrilled with the idea.

Since her success, however, they've come to embrace her decision.

She told Glamour in 2012,

"Now they are over the moon!

I was one of those kids where I clearly wasn't going to be in school much longer, you know

what I mean?

…I was a very unique child.

I think they knew I belonged in the arts."

Kat and the City

It was 2000 when Dennings — just a teenager trying to make it big in the industry — had

her small screen debut on the hottest show on television, Sex and the City.

The role was a small one, and you may not even remember it, but it was huge for Dennings.

And looking back on it now, it was quite the epic on-camera moment.

The budding young star played 13-year-old Jenny Brier on an episode titled "Hot Child

in the City" in which she hired Samantha Jones to plan her bat mitzvah.

Following her interaction with Samantha, Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbes, Denning's character

left the women questioning their youth and wondering if the teens were trying to imitate

them, or if, in fact, they were the ones trying to imitate the teens.

Alcohol & drug-free...kind of

Unlike many young celebrities who embrace the party lifestyle that's so prominent in

Hollywood, Dennings has chosen to stay far away from drugs and alcohol.

She told Complex,

"I don't feel like I'm the kind of person who can deal with some kind of foreign stimulant.

I don't need an excuse to act a certain way.

Some people use that to show their true feelings, whereas I do that all the time."

Not only does she not take part in the behavior herself, but she told Glamour that she also

steers clear of those who do.

Not an easy task in Hollywood, apparently.

Having said that, when the starlet went on Conan, she admitted that a European trip changed

her outlook on wine.

She explains,

"In Europe, it goes with the food, it's a whole thing, I was like, 'Whatever.'

It was a very small, like, Italian-y situation, and I was like, 'I'm gonna drink some wine.'"

She continues to explain, however, that it didn't take much for her to feel the effects.

She claims that, before long, she was talking like Ron Burgundy.

"Beth, you look ravishing this evening!

Somebody give me some Miss Masabuco."

The Yarn and the Restless

Of all the hobbies an A-list star like Dennings could decide to take up, knitting is not the

first one that comes to mind.

But that's exactly what she loves doing in her downtime, and she's got quite the unlikely

partner in crime.

During an appearance on Ellen, Dennings revealed that she and UFC champion Ronda Rousey have

started a knitting club called "The Yarn and the Restless."

With yet another deviation from her stance against alcohol, she told Ellen,

"We just knit a scarf and get drunk."

"I see."

"And make friend memories."

Screenwriting chops

In addition to acting, Dennings is also a talented scriptwriter, as she proved with

Your Dreams Suck, a script she co-wrote with her brother, Geoffrey Litwack, which landed

on the 2008 Black List of "The Hottest Unproduced Screenplays of 2008."

What's going to happen with that script?

Well, she told Movieline that it's still in the pipeline due to the laborious process

of getting a movie made.

But in case you're wondering, no, she never planned on acting in it.

Natalie + Kat = BFF

Dennings first met Natalie Portman when she showed up to support one of her best friends,

Devendra Banhart, who was shooting his single, "Carmensita."

The two met again on the set of Thor in 2011 and their time on set together doubled as

the ultimate BFF hangout.

She told Complex,

"Natalie and I just never stop talking.

Never stop talking."

Driving-conscious

When Dennings was put on the spot by Complex and forced to choose one thing she would change

about herself, the actress answered,

"I wish I was a less anxious driver.

LA's a stressful place to drive, and I tend to seize up when I drive.

I get very nervous when someone goes in front of me."

Her calming solution?

Listening to heavy metal.

Makes perfect sense to us.

What's next?

Since debuting 2 Broke Girls in 2011, Dennings has gained many fans whom she will no doubt

keep as she continues on in her career.

While returning to the Thor universe is never out of the question, fans anxiously wait to

see if Dennings embraces more writing and directing.

Whatever she chooses to do, the future will undoubtedly be bright for this young starlet.

Ripples in Spacetime! 2017 Nobel Prize Cliched by American - Duration: 6:30.

"Ripples in Spacetime!"

--2017 Nobel Prize Cliched by American Trio for Discovery of Gravitational Waves (WATCH

Video)

Fundamentally, the detection of gravitational waves was a huge deal, as it was a confirmation

of a key prediction of Einsteins general theory of relativity.

Following the epic discovery We looked closer at the astrophysics of the actual result,

a merger of two 30-solar-mass black holes," said professor of physics & astronomy James

Bullock at University of California Irvine.

"That was simply astounding and had us asking, How common are black holes of this size,

and how often do they merge? We think weve shown that there are as many as 100 million

black holes in our Milky Way galaxy.

The discovery of gravitational waves, ripples in the fabric of spacetime that were first

anticipated by Albert Einstein a century ago clinched the 2017 Nobel Prize for Physics

for Rainer Weiss, Barry C Barish and Kip S Thorne.

The trio were honored for their leading role in the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave

Observatory, or Ligo, experiment, which made the first historic observation of gravitational

waves signals from two black holes colliding.

1145

Weiss, emeritus professor of physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is an experimentalist

and made a major contribution to the concept, design, funding and eventual construction

of Ligo.

Kip Thorne, the Feynman professor of theoretical physics at California Institute of Technology,

is a theorist and made crucial predictions of what the detection of a gravitational wave

would actually look like and how to identify that signal within the data.

Barry Barish, a former particle physicist at California Institute of Technology (now

emeritus professor) is widely credited for getting the experiment off the ground.

When he took over as the second director of Ligo in 1994, the project was at risk of being

cancelled.

Barish turned things around and saw it through to construction in 1999, and its first measurements

three years later.

Ronald Drever, a Scottish physicist, who alongside Weiss and Thorne played a leading role in

developing Ligo, died in March from dementia less than 18 months after gravitational waves

were first detected.

The Nobel prize is not normally awarded posthumously.

Speaking at a press conference after the announcement, Weiss described receiving the phone call this

morning as really wonderful.

I view this more as a thing that recognises the work of about 1,000 people.

I hate to tell you but its as long as 40 years of people thinking about this, trying

to make a detection and slowly but surely getting the technology together to do it.

Weiss said he could not believe the teams discovery at first.

It took us a long time almost two months to convince ourselves that we had seen

something from the outside that was truly a gravitational wave.

Here's the official Nobel Prize Announcement:

On 14 September 2015, the universe's gravitational waves were observed for the very first time.

The waves came from a collision between two black holes.

It took 1.3 billion years for the waves to arrive at the LIGO detector in the USA.

The signal was extremely weak when it reached Earth, but is already promising a revolution

in astrophysics.

Gravitational waves are an entirely new way of observing the most violent events in space

and testing the limits of our knowledge.

LIGO, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, is a collaborative project with

over one thousand researchers from more than twenty countries.

Together, they have realised a vision that is almost fifty years old.

The 2017 Nobel Laureates have, with their enthusiasm and determination, each been invaluable

to the success of LIGO.

Pioneers Rainer Weiss and Kip S. Thorne, together with Barry C. Barish, the scientist and leader

who brought the project to completion, ensured that four decades of effort led to gravitational

waves finally being observed.

In the mid-1970s, Rainer Weiss had already analysed possible sources of background noise

that would disturb measurements, and had also designed a detector, a laser-based interferometer,

which would overcome this noise.

Early on, both Kip Thorne and Rainer Weiss were firmly convinced that gravitational waves

could be detected and bring about a revolution in our knowledge of the universe.

Gravitational waves spread at the speed of light, filling the universe, as Albert Einstein

described in his general theory of relativity.

They are always created when a mass accelerates, like when an ice-skater pirouettes or a pair

of black holes rotate around each other.

Einstein was convinced it would never be possible to measure them.

The LIGO project's achievement was using a pair of gigantic laser interferometers to

measure a change thousands of times smaller than an atomic nucleus, as the gravitational

wave passed the Earth.

So far all sorts of electromagnetic radiation and particles, such as cosmic rays or neutrinos,

have been used to explore the universe.

However, gravitational waves are direct testimony to disruptions in spacetime itself.

This is something completely new and different, opening up unseen worlds.

A wealth of discoveries awaits those who succeed in capturing the waves and interpreting their

message.

The Cooper Collar Dress Shirt - Duration: 5:21.

I am.

Kirby Allison, Founder of The HAnger Project.

I'm here today with Joe Hemrajani founder of

mytailer.com to talk to you

about my favorite shirt that you've probably

never heard of

and that's called the cooper collar.

Everyone knows a traditional dress

shirt. You button it you wear it

with the tie.

But in this day and age

with more and more men not wearing

ties to Cooper collar

is actually the better option.

And so I'm wearing a cooper collar today

and what it is is it's essentially

a one piece collar without

a collar band it's meant to be worn

open.

And the reason I love my Cooper collars is

because one they sit opened

up so beautifully underneath

a suit.

And Joe is actually the man from

whom I learned about the Cooper collar was

in his office in Hong Kong

seven years ago he was wearing this incredible

shirt that I couldn't

quite pick out the difference of

and I was staring at it

and I could see something was different

but I couldn't name it.

And I think finally I asked him about it

and he said I'm wearing a cooper collar.

So why don't you tell us Joe

about the Cooper collar.

It's one of my favorites.

He's really is absolutely the only

collar to wear unbuttoned

without a jack without a tie

and it looks good any

way. under a jacket.

You don't need button down.

You don't need magnets.

You don't need anything of that sort.

It just stays

there.

You kind of have a fused is not

fused it doesn't matter.

It stays just the way

it is. Yes.

This is not a prop.

This is the way the color sits on its

own.

And so the most beautiful thing about the Cooper

collar again is it's a one piece collar

that goes all the way up

and around and it just sits

open with this beautiful roll.

And then one of the things that I love

is that as you're looking

into the shirt you don't

see an interior collar

band because there isn't one.

If you're wearing your shirt over open,

unbuttoned, without a tie,

the cooper collar is just this

elegant beautiful shirt

that the collar sits perfectly

hugs your neck it stays

open and looks beautiful.

This was a swap for me

start with the call construction.

All one piece.

It's all cut on a bias

so it has that nice swoop that rolls over

and there's the interlining goes

up to the second button,

third button from the neck.

This is a line to give structure

and this is all unlined.

That's the structure of the

show.

So what you see here there's there's no

collar back on a traditional

dress shirt there would be a collar band that goes

all the way around the neck.

And so with the cooper collar

it's all one piece it's cut on the bias so

I actually think one of the most beautiful fabrics

that you can order a cooper in,

of course next to a solid,

is a stripe because you

see the diagonalness

of the stripe on the collar because it's a cut

on the bias.

And again it's just one of those

details that

you know it's difficult to put your thumb on

but everyone notices.

And we put reinforcement

in the back so it just stays nice

and crisp. And right here on the side I mean it

looks like it might have a

collar band.

Right because you kind of see this right

here.

But if you flip this up again

you'll see that there's no collar band.

This is all one color so

whereas in a traditional color you'd have

the collar.

One piece of fabric set

into the collar band

here with the Cooper it's all one

piece. So why don't we pull this off the mannequin

throw this on the table just because I think that

again how this is made is

technically so different from other

shirts so there's that.

If you look at the difference in construction

here I mean it's night

and day. You know we've got that collar band

here right.

The collar set into it

whereas with this it's kind of all

one piece so it takes

a lot more effort.

It takes a lot more finis on

the part of the

Pattern maker

and the person who is sowing it.

It needs to be perfect

or it won't sit properly on you neck.

If you're going to go see Joe.

And I recommend everyone go see him.

I really insist that everyone

I send to Joe have two shirts made.

You have a traditional dress shirt made

but everyone should absolutely have a copper

collar if you haven't experienced this

you're going to fall in love.

And I really think you could have two shirts

made for every single fabric you select you

could have your traditional dress shirt made

if you're going to wear it with a jacket

and tie. But if you really love that fabric

there is no reason not to have that same shirt

made with the cooper collar to be

worn whenever you're going around timeless.

I'm Kirby Allison founder of the hanger project I've got

Joe Hemrajani from mytailor.com this is

the cooper collar.

If you didn't know about it now you do.

You should definitely look into having one made it'll

blow you away.

Let us know what you think if you wear cooper

collars let us know about them in the comments

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro Unboxing & Hands-On Review (MacBook Pro Killer?) - Duration: 18:10.

So this was released about a week ago in China it is the Xiaomi Mi notebook Pro so

it's 15.6 inches with a 1080p screen on it it's their largest laptop now and I

was personally waiting for some time for them to release something larger than

their 13.3 inch model that I've also reviewed and the 12.5 inch one they're

both very decent laptops but they're not perfect the 13.3 inch version does get

very hot to the touch up to about 50 degrees Celsius when you push it really

hard now they did say there's improved cooling in this newer model comes in

this dark gray color which really does look quite cool and it does have type-c

ports on there two of them but no Thunderbolt 3 also 2 USB 3 ports backlit

keyboard SD card reader wireless AC 60 watt hour battery and it's powered by

the i5 8250U this is the latest eighth generation chips or the I7 8550U so quad

cores we've gone from dual core 2 quad it should be a lot more powerful than

the likes of the 13-inch model so let's get this one here unbox check it out in

greater detail so there are three things to be aware of when you buy this model

and that is the fact that it's going to come with Windows 10 in Chinese there's

a couple of ways around that you can either backup the drivers do a clean

install or you can upgrade from Windows 10 home that it probably will come with

to Windows 10 Pro so even though they have used the original box you can see

it is well packaged up so it's double boxed and that is padding either side

you see the retail packaging has a very Apple look to it just like the Mac books

okay so it's packaged up quite well there there's padding on the top of this

too so okay so it feels actually quite heavy but is a lot heavier than the

previous models but the smaller models of course 13 inches this weighs around

two kilos I will measure that in just a minute but we'll have a look and see

what else we get in the box here so we have this leaflet here which is probably

the warranty and guarantee card things like that that'll all be in Chinese

which it is unless just a quick start - again it's all in Chinese there is a

type C - type-c cable and then the charger which is 65 watts with a maximum

output of 20 volts 3.2 amps and it is that two prong style and it is a one

point nine seven nine kilo so almost two kilos there and approximately fifteen

point eight millimeters thick that is without the rubber feet with those feet

there and that comes up then to almost nineteen millimeters so it has

definitely been opened sadly but I am really loving this darker gray so that

space gray color looks really good awesome really I wish more manufacturers

would start releasing tech with this color and not just the standard silver

all that champagne gold we see a lot of out of China so testing the lid there

that is very firm there's hardly any flex and that feels good so on the left

hand side you'll find a full size HDMI out 2 USB 3 ports 3.5 millimeter

headphone jack that does support microphones then on the right side

status LED - type-c ports there's a USB 3.1 spec SD card slot sadly they did not

make one of these type-c ports Thunderbolt 3 I feel that's a bit of an

error so the vents are along the bottom here this is the intake vent and it will

vent out just in front of the screen so the design the way they have this laid

out exactly like the 13.3 inch version we have along here of course five rubber

feet they are propped up slightly higher on the rear which is good to see and

then there are nine Torx screws ones hidden under here I will open this case

off later on we'll have a look at the internals now these girls either side

are for their speakers which are infinity Harman branded ones with Dolby

Atmos down the front there's a cutout here for opening it up let's have a look

and see if it can be opened up one-handed which it can

right so a very large touchpad on here that is really nice the size of that I

do like the look of this color this darker gray looks really nice and then

the black keys of course are different to the silver ones we have on the other

models like the 12.5 inch version then 13.3 and you'll notice here we have a

fingerprint reader so there's a little bit of flex there but really that is not

bad at all I am pushing very hard here the key travel they feel like quality

keys very nice I can see we've got shortcuts there for the brightness

control volumes but we do OB do there print screen backlit keyboard disable

the touchpad as well now this backlit keyboard will probably

be exactly the same as the other models that after 13 seconds it will turn off

and it's either on or off there's no in-between settings with the brightness

of those keys so this is a little hard to capture on camera but the keys aren't

exactly 100% flat it's like they have a little bit of a a con curve to them

which is a nice touch so there's a webcam up the top there with two

microphones either side so it's dual array mice you can just see them the

tiny little holes there either side the screen henge feels really firm a lot

more firmer than the likes of the 12.5 or 13-inch models it really is quite

good no complaints with that a little bit of flex in the screen there but

nothing to worry about really there would be some of course with such a

large screen now I've noticed with it there's this plastic lip it's not rubber

like on some laptops from a Zeus there's in book series but actually just a hard

plastic that goes all around and what that will do was prevent that screen

from scratching up against the palm rest or the keyboard there now this shouldn't

take too long imagine it's already been set up I can see if someone's got an

account on that and men and yet everything is in Chinese so first

impressions here of the display it looks decent it is an IPS panel because if you

see the viewing angles it's not a TN panel it's not shifting out I mean they

wouldn't do something that silly would they show me would not put a TN panel

into their premium 15.6 inch laptop but because it is fifteen point six inches

1080p you will see pixels looking at the screen really close you can see what I

mean I've assumed right end the Windows Start button there while the

home button and you can see the pixels individual pixels if you really look

close enough but looking at the screen from a normal distance because I don't

look at the screen that close it looks like any other 15.6 inch display however

of course it's just got a few more reflections because it's covered with

glass and this is also the maximum that the screen will recline back which isn't

bad at all so the screen I think I won the lottery here with the IPS bleed or

light leakage and glow around the corners because it doesn't seem to have

any now you'll notice that the blacks on it

they aren't quite as dark as the bezel that's around the outside you can just

make out the difference between the two of them there

notice as I said super reflector but also fingerprints smudges and all that

sort of stuff is showing up on the screen quite quickly with that glass

cover our met coated screen would probably be a little bit more practical

I feel so and if they've got glass on there like I normally feel that if they

make it a glass screen why not make it also support touch as well but that

probably would have pushed the price right out so allowing the brightness now

it's not on 100% that's about 40 at the moment so if I increase it right up to

100 sorry that's a volume that's a hundred percent seems reasonable measure

that in my full review and in doing it right down here to zero it's very dark

then and it becomes a reflective mirror okay so I'm trying to add English here

but no like it doesn't seem to work you really I think you need to actually be

in China or something to get it to download the english-language pack so

what I have to do later on is just upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and then

install my language pack so I have gone into the device manager and we'll have a

look there you can see that's the 8th gen the newest latest Intel so it's the

8250 you that I have on here now if you want slightly faster I don't think it's

gonna actually be worth it though to get to I 78550 and it depends how hot this

gets to that one will probably generate a bit more heat too but it clocks up a

little bit higher I think it's about 600 megahertz turbo more that you get on

that version the i7 one so we have a what I think is a samsung PM 961 so that

should be nice and fast I'll benchmark that shortly and the fingerprint relat

reader is an e LAN the same as the mean air 13 same for the wireless too so

we've got the Intel Wireless dual band AC 82 65 which is quite a fast chipset

too so just to confirm a couple of things here you must charge from this

port here not that one I plugged it in and actually came up with a pop-up

saying use the other port while a logo and icon telling me to do that SD cards

do not sit in flush and it seems the maximum speed this slot supports sadly

is only about 30 megabytes per second now my card that I have in there at the

moment is a samsung pro plus card a micro SD and the adapter here you can

see and it should support almost up to 80 or even faster so it's a real shame

it's not running at the full speed so my English language pack has installed now

that's downloaded I have to reboot and everything then should be in English but

while that was going on I did benchmark the drive here you can see the results

now bear in mind that there were things going on in the background so it could

possibly a little bit faster than this but that is not the fastest MVM e drive

that they have used in this which is a slight disappointment there because of

course there are drives that got to around 3,000 reads and 1500 sequential

writes but this one a little bit slower but still very good performance just

benchmarking that wireless card here so my fiber line can do a maximum of 300

megabits per second and it's getting very close to that which is impressive

because I am about to Rooms distance away from that router but I found that

the Intel dual band AC 80 to 65 performs really well and you can see those

results there are very decent now looking at the RAM configuration here it

says that we have two of two slots used form factor so dim however I think this

is incorrect I hope I'm wrong because that means we can go along and upgrade

the RAM hopefully that is the case crossing my fingers here the RAM is

running at 2400 megahertz which is good that's dual channel of course now I did

run Geekbench before here we'll have a look at the scores both the compute

score as well so that's using the GPU so first up as the CPU score this has

double the speed of the 13.3 inch version with decay B Lake I 5 7000

200 you so this model of course has two more cause eight threads and the 13-inch

model only has two cores four threads so that's why we've got a massive increase

there on the multi-core score so that should be beneficial especially when

encoding things like 4k video and all that and the single core score is up

around about 600 points there also over that other model the 13-inch model now

the compute score so this is the OpenCL score comes out to be about four

thousand sorry three thousand points higher due to the fact probably that

that CPU is just helping out a little bit being a bit faster there so not much

of a difference there between the two models on the mx1 five-o so the

speaker's we have a downwards firing now the location of them on the bottom I'm

not a big fan of because you can't block them if you do end up using it on your

lap so they are Infinity branded ones they're harman infinity with Dolby Atmos

software that's basically just like an equalizer that tweaks to get the best

performance out of them so let's have a listen to how they sound

so as you can hear from that quick sample there they sound really quite

good they go a bit of treble to them some bass there too as well they do

sound quite rich overall I'm quite happy with the sound of these speakers they do

sound so much better than the previous models as well they've been proved

things a little bit I do believe they put out about an extra half of what more

the the power output from those two speakers so just had a bit of a type on

this keyboard and it does feel really good this is a great keyboard they have

used in it it's a step up from the ones and the 12.5 inch and 13.3 inch models

differently same goes for this macbook like touchpad that is very large it is

really nice to use this one here very good I do like the feel of us and I'll

go as far as to say it's probably the best touchpad now that I have used in

any Chinese device same goes for the keyboard really it is a really decent

keyboard so here's a look at the backlit keyboard as you can see lights up

individually each of those keys there and after 13 seconds it will

automatically turn off if you're not using the keyboard so have a peek at the

internals here was a little difficult to get the case off just by the fact that

the plastic clips all around the outside will on really really hard so to take it

off you need a t5 Torx screwdriver bit that's the same exact one that they used

on the other models there so we have a 600 watt hour battery not a lot of room

for it as you can see because of the motherboard two cooling fans the very

thin ones and just the one copper pipe there they're not separated so they

haven't got one just for the CPU then one for the GPU so far thermals have

been good it hasn't got hot to the touch or anything like that but I do need to

push it hard gaming to really find out just how hot it will get and will it get

up to 50 degrees to the touch on the top of it like the 13 inch version hopefully

not so there is space here for a future 4G LTE version which will probably be an

exclusive kind of like Chinese model the ultimate model something like that it

will come out later on so it is a samsung PM 9 6 1 mve SSD so it's

interesting to see that when i benchmarked it that it's not running at

the full speed of the potential that this drive

so is this only pci times two that's the question there or is it set up as times

four which hopefully it should be otherwise that is really stupid if they

have done that so here we have a setter three SSD Bay 22 by eighty I put my

drive in there I'm going to put it in there so if you want to store like a

terabyte of files then this is the one to do it on a slower storage put that

and it's great to have this option overall the build quality is excellent

in here no complaints whatsoever it looks very decent oh and just to add

those decent sounding speakers they do have the Infinity branding on them as

well now I did take a peek at the RAM it's located under this copper heat

shielding the sink and everything copper heatsink we cannot upgrade the RAM it's

not so dumb it is soldered to the motherboard unfortunately so if you need

16 gigabytes of RAM for editing your 4k videos then you're gonna have to buy the

16 gigabyte version so the bias is pretty much locked out to the end-user

there's no real settings we can change in here apart from the boot order you

can set the secure boot to be disabled you just have to put a password in first

and yes Linux does run on this system okay so the me notebook pro is looking

very promising here the panel on it 1080p panel so it's going to be the

sharpest but it is a very decent pen or that they have put in this a brightness

seems sufficient enough I'll have that measured in my full review but just

using it I'm very happy with this panel I was a little bit concerned that it

could be a very poor panel that they have chosen for this but it's definitely

not the case here no concerns there so the touchpad it's really nice and large

fingerprint reader incorporated and it does work really well it's super quick

unlocking to get in with Windows hello so no typing out your password simply

place your finger there and it goes straight into Windows now the keyboard

this is a step up from the previous model so the twelve point five inch and

the 13.3 inch models the keyboards are good they're very nice keyboards backlit

as well but there's silver now we've got this black one with the contoured kind

of keys and it just feels so much better the feedback you get from it typing on

it the travel as well has improved a little bit really really nice keyboard

this is perhaps one of the best touch pads and keyboard combinations that I

have used on a Chinese device at least so the thermals and temperatures and

battery life and gaming performance video encoding and all that will be

tested all in the final review I will have a separate gaming review of this

model here just to see also how hot it's going to get that's one area of concern

I do have so I've found a couple of minor cons here and that is that the SD

card doesn't sit right in and it's not running at full speed it's only limited

to about 30 megabytes per second reading rights which is not good for

transferring large files I'm going to have to use my USB 3 adapter for that

for my SD cards so that's not a massive issue there the other thing is that the

PM 961 that samsung SSD doesn't seem to be performing at the full PCIe times 4

speeds not sure what's up with that I have to investigate that a little bit

more and really that is about at the sounds quality out of those Infinity

Harman speakers they do sound really decent they're quite rich they're got

some bass to them some treble as you heard from my sample and I brought

shaping up to be a really good notebook it is a bit heavier compared to

definitely the 13-inch model so pushing almost 2 kilos you do notice that but

the weight is distributed quite well and so far thermals touching it hasn't got

hot to the touch like the the me 13 would have by now but of course in my

gaming review I'm pretty sure that I will find out very quickly where it will

overheat or not so I hope to see you back with my further up and coming

videos of this particular model here and thank you so much for watching this if

you do have any questions please let me know down in the comments there bye for

now

Terrifying Warning Just Released About What's About To Happen On October 9 For SICKENING Reason - Duration: 4:37.

America hasn't even come close to recovering from the Sunday night attack in Las Vegas

which left 50 dead and over 500 wounded, as a lot of questions still remain unanswered

about why this happened.

With this gaping wound still wide open and citizens feeling vulnerable and unsafe, we're

now being warned to brace ourselves for more hell that's coming on October 9.

Authorities are saying that they have received credible information of what is promised to

take place in just a few days from now which could have devastating effects on the entire

nation.

This exact day was picked for the plan for a very specific and sickening reason.

In the distraction of the aftermath of the country's most deadly mass shooting in modern

history, it looks like we haven't experienced the worst yet of what's to come.

Other people have taken this time with the attention consumed on one devastation to plan

the next.

While America is weakened at the moment as people mourn the senseless loss of life, those

who want to see our nation fail are seizing this time as an opportunity.

It also happens to come at a significant time for an evil dictator who has been waiting

for his chance and is about to take it on this specific day.

North Korea's Kim Jong-un doesn't seem too happy that he hasn't been getting attention

and is now commanding it with what he's bringing on America.

It was only a matter of time before Kim Jong-un put all their practices into full effect and

it appears that he's now ready to go one step further on the anniversary of the founding

of the political party that governs in Pyongyang.

US News and World Report reports:

"A top CIA official for the Korean Peninsula warned Wednesday that the U.S. should be ready

for a new provocation by North Korea on Columbus Day on Oct. 9, which coincides with the anniversary

of the founding of the political party that governs in Pyongyang."

"'Stand by your phones,' Yong Suk Lee, deputy assistant director of the CIA's Korea

Mission Center, said while speaking at a conference organized by the agency at The George Washington

University."

"Lee did not speculate what North Korea might do, though it frequently carries out

missile launches or nuclear tests on major state anniversaries, such as the birthday

of leader Kim Jong Un or other dates associated with the lives of his father or grandfather.

Oct. 10 marks the anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea in 1945."

Tensions with North Korea have reached an all-time high in recent days which seems to

be to the enjoyment of deranged Kim Jong-un who is feeling ignored and neglected now.

Despite the attention being off this mentally ill dictator, he's crazy enough to take

it to this level and was intent on doing so.

His constant weapons testing was more than just for show, it was something to take seriously

even if he will lose that war if he brings it to our soil.

It appears that what he has planned for a few days from now is an actual provocation

of war, like the other tests have been, and now it's time for this whiny manchild needs

to be shut down for good stop this madness from going nuclear.

"Tensions with North Korea have reached new extremes in recent weeks, following months

of increased weapons tests combined with new U.S. appraisals that Pyongyang is close to

perfecting or perhaps already has made an intercontinental ballistic missile that can

carry a nuclear warhead and hit targets accurately," US News explained.

"Lee added that Pyongyang historically has been controlled by its fear of the Chinese

abandoning its support for the Hermit Kingdom, or that the U.S. would carry out a military

strike.

Kim Jong Un no longer has those fears, Lee said."

"There's a clarity of purpose in what Kim Jong Un has done," Lee said.

Despite all the rhetoric from North Korea and their weapons testing, Lee believes that

the likelihood of the country intentionally starting a war with America or any of our

allies remains relatively low.

"'The last person who wants conflict on the peninsula is actually Kim Jong Un,'

Lee said, adding that Kim, like all authoritarian leaders, wishes to rule for a long time and

die in his own bed.

'We have a tendency in this country and elsewhere to underestimate the conservatism

that runs in these authoritarian regimes,'" US News reported.

However, that shouldn't stop President Donald Trump from responding to Kim Jong-un's taunting

with a show of force to shut him up.

This tug of war has been going on for too long and the game needs to end.

Perhaps the president will do just that diplomatically when he visits South Korea, Japan, and China

on his upcoming trip to Asia in November that will be his first since taking office.

Natasha Leggero Interview! - BASIC FREEDOMS (Ep532 - Pt 4) - Duration: 4:18.

- The dude abides.

- [Natasha] How did this happen Ari?

- The foundation of our economic system is one in which growth and the markets and the

multiplication of money is seen as the ultimate good.

- And capitalism is a virus and it's making us sick.

- And we have taken on this idea that as long as it grows, then goodness will rain out of that

It's almost like it's a religion.

Really we have turned money into God.

And so the natural result, then you're going to have a billionaire who lies and is delusional

and full of hatred as your president.

That is the shadow in the subconscious of a system that has turned money into God.

- So how do we, what's the--

- What's the cure?

- Wake up.

And start with yourself.

You know, because you can yell at people and it's gonna piss them off and it's uncool.

So to start with yourself and say where am I being greedy?

Where am I being full of hatred?

Where am I delusional, and how can I stop these things in myself?

And then start making these small compassionate decisions and trust that this will rain outwards.

- Sounds like you're into interpersonal environmentalism.

- It might, your term, that what you're calling it?

E, IPE, are you calling it IPE?

- No.

- Do you actually have students that you teach this to?

- No Ari, I don't.

I just thought of it.

- But this term you invented.

You've been using this for a while, interpersonal environmentalism?

- I mean no one really listens, but I try to repeat it now and then.

- I like it.

Your shtick is that you're cold but your reality is that you're not.

That's what I would say about you on Natasha.

- Thank you.

- The beginning of change happens when you acknowledge the pain.

You have to feel the pain first.

Not cling to it, because I think we have a habit you know if you say I'm terrified it

means you're waking up in the middle of the night and you're freaked about something,

and if you can actually feel what the fear is, feel what the sadness is, for me it's

the grief about you know the California coast and the sea otters that are dying, you know

I feel an intense grief about that.

The first thing you need to do is to allow yourself to grieve, and to feel it, and to

let that energy, if you're lying on your stomach in bed let it flow out, let it flow out of

your body, out of your heart, and into the soil that's down below, where you're sleeping.

- I was just thinking if Ari had that hat on, this might not make, have as big an impact.

- So you let it feel, you let the, you let the emotion happen, you let it flow through

you.

You don't cling to it because clinging to it becomes a form actually of rejecting if

not feeling, and it makes you sick.

It can make you physically ill, so you feel it and let it flow through you and then when

you're in that state where you've actually allowed yourself to feel then you have to

trust that what your body and what your choices are gonna be next are gonna be the right ones.

And then if you're making the right choices you're pushing the boat, you know you're tugging

the boat ever so slightly in the right direction.

Maybe it's with your teeth and dental floss, but there's millions of other people pulling

a really heavy boat and turning it and you're one of them.

- Yay.

- Sir, if you don't calm down I'm going to have to ask you to leave.

- I'm staying.

I'm drinking my coffee.

Enjoying my coffee.

Got a laugh.

He didn't even say anything!

- [Man] He just stormed off.

That was the best for me.

That was cool.

- [Natasha] 'Cause you got a professional actress on your hands.

- Did you cry?

Natasha Leggero Interview! - BASIC FREEDOMS (Ep532 - Pt 3) - Duration: 4:08.

- The dude abides.

(rock music)

- You know a lot about history.

Are there any countries that you can think of

or any times in history or maybe Howard knows,

where they've also been

in this post-fact era, and what happens?

- Well I mean--

- Where facts are no longer really,

he just says that the news is fake

or that CNN's lying.

- To some degree this is what happened in Germany

in the thirties and obviously people are quick

to jump to the Hitler comparison.

We can argue about whether that's panic or real,

but that is what happened in Germany.

The Munich Post was closed, all the free press

was sort of, one by one were taken out,

and then the only press that existed

was a press that was approved by Hitler and Goebbels.

And in Stalinist Russia they did the same thing.

Germany recovered I would say

largely because they had many centuries tradition

of literacy to fall back on,

so though there was a generation that missed it,

the generation that came of age

during the thirties was really lost after the war

because they didn't get that culture.

But the culture still existed in Germany,

and also let's give some credit I think

to the United States rebuilding Germany

and ensuring free press and ensuring the American values

of 1945 of you know the rock solid free press.

Of course America had its interests as well,

but in general there was a push to rebuild society

with that as a complete foundation.

And free press doesn't mean you can say whatever you want.

Free press means you can say the truth

and you have to back it up with research,

and what we've lost now is the backing it up with research.

It's like if you can shout it into,

you know on a talk show, then its effect

you know like with climate change,

someone can shout that it's actually a government conspiracy

to steal money from oil companies and take away freedom

because secretly they want us all to be communists

and that gets equal play to the scientists

who are saying no it's actually happening

because of the gases we are

putting in the atmosphere, full stop.

And you put those two arguments side by side

it's like well, 50/50.

- And now you have this, now if you had this problem in 1950

I'd say okay, you know intelligence will win

but right now we have this problem

and now we have the internet which is a complete distraction

so people want to help and they want to do things

but they're just so consumed and distracted

that they can't even, so I just think

that with the internet and with someone in charge

who pretty much has mental illness

and is completely unprofessional,

like he was tweeting about The Apprentice

and what a loser Arnold Schwarzenegger,

like that's not something that someone

in a high position tweets, so the whole combo,

it's probably whatever happens is unprecedented.

- It is unprecedented.

- Because I don't, I mean at least in Germany

like you know every seven year old

could probably recite you know poems

and everyone was like extremely intelligent

and overeducated and now it's like

we're all distracted by our phones.

- Yeah it is-- - It's a bad combo.

- It's a dangerous combo.

Well, I think fear,

if we recognize that fear is an enemy,

just greed, hatred, and delusion.

Greed, fear, and delusion one could say.

These are things within us.

Greed within us, fear in us, delusion in us.

We have to fight first and then we can fight it in society.

- How did this happen Ari?

- [Man] Would you like some more coffee?

Natasha Leggero Interview! - BASIC FREEDOMS (Ep532 - Pt 2) - Duration: 4:31.

- The dude abides.

(rock music)

- I have friends who are like just very into Hillary Clinton

which I always find slightly confusing.

- I always find that slightly confusing too.

- Like when you're really into her,

that's what's kind of weird.

- Ancient history, right?

- I know.

I feel just awful.

I think it's a kind of a sad time.

However, the thing we were just talking about,

you know trying to keep your energy

to a place that's like positive

and everyone you're encountering you're trying

to make their life better, not worse.

I think that is at least a small thing,

as naive as that might sound,

or stupid as that sounds, I actually have a word for it.

It's called interpersonal environmentalism

and it's the environmentalism of yourself.

Like what's your footprint of being an asshole?

So the women's march I went in San Francisco.

It was, I mean it was cool...

Or I went in Oakland.

And it felt like such an amazing thing,

but then you read a week later and it's like

oh there weren't that many people, who cares?

- Look, you can't take away the truth of that day.

- But they do take it away.

- Well but no, this was the largest

mass protest in human history.

The women's march was the largest protest--

- Why can't we get that out more?

Like instead it's just like he's there

like look at, look at how many people

were at my inauguration.

We're basically living in a post-fact era

and I think it just started.

So I'm not exactly sure how to be in that world,

especially as a comedian

so it actually makes me want to start making stuff up.

(laughs)

- Well yeah you could but I think the other thing

is that comedians have always,

you think about the fool in the court,

the comedian's job actually is to be the one

who has the guts to tell the truth.

- Right but sometimes when I'm making my points,

you know like I was tweeting something

because I didn't know that trump left Tiffany's mom

for Miss Hawaiian Tropic,

and then I found this picture of them

and I was posting it but then I was like

oh I'm not sure if that's the Miss Hawaiian Tropic

that he left her for, and I'm like who cares?

Doesn't matter anymore!

It's like it just, I mean not that that's a big deal,

but you know it's just like I don't know,

it just get very--

- I think you know if you have a sense of the truth

then taking the higher ground of being honest,

I think we have a greater obligation.

I think one of the reasons that Hillary lost

is because though she had done some good things

and had some good positions,

she also didn't reckon with her dishonesty

and you can't have it both ways.

You can't play the honest card

while being kind of dishonest.

You've got to go all the way with it.

You've got to be honest.

- I know, but apart from Bernie is there any politician

that you've been attracted to in your lifetime?

- Sexually?

- No but I mean the very nature,

I mean imagine what are they peddling?

They're like peddling themselves.

You've got to be like slightly psychotic.

- That's what was great about Bernie

was one sensed that he was not peddling himself,

though he's rare that doesn't mean there shouldn't be--

- Why is he so old?

Who's the new, like what's the--

- I don't know, Tulsi Gabbard maybe.

We'll have to see about her, but okay he's rare.

Okay there have been few politicians

whose trade has been the truth,

but let's set that as the standard

and let's not fall for any bullshit anymore,

and that includes, I'm sorry to say,

but that includes then being doubly pure in yourself

and even in your comedy where if you're going to post

the Hawaiian Tropic girlfriend of Donald Trump,

pick the right one.

Take the extra minute to find the right one

so that if you're ever called to task for it

you can actually point to your record

and say look, I've not lied.

(people chattering)
