Waching daily Oct 6 2017

hello my name is Jason Johnson and thank you for watching this video this video

is going to be an outtake from a student support livestream that I did for Ivy

Tech back on September 14th it features Darryl Dekker who is the

director of student services for the Ivy Tech Richmond campus and I'm just gonna

jump right into this video here and I hope it's helpful for you I am a Darryl

Dekker and I am assistant director of career development for Ivy Tech

Community College on the Richmond campus Richmond and Connersville campuses ok

first if we can just stay on this first slide here for a little bit I want to

point out that we are called career development and I want to make that

distinction simply because it's it's actually a culture change for not only

Ivy Tech but most a lot of College nationwide we again used to be called

Career Services okay and the focus then was when a student is finally finished

getting ready to graduate and they want to enter the work world that we would

offer career services to them such as interviewing resume polishing cover

letter polishing things like that the finished product is what we were looking

at but what we found is that if we don't get students on the correct career path

to begin with then it's a possibility they may not finish that certificate or

that program and they would just simply drop out of school and we wouldn't hear

from them anymore so not only would they not have a degree or certificate but

chances are they wouldn't have a job and chances are they may be paying back

student loans without that job we're trying to grab you from day one and

start grooming you for the work role at that point so that's we have a number of

tools that we use to do that so I'll try to introduce the first one if you want

to advance a slide so we do a career assessment the tool we'll use that we

use Indiana career Explorer com it's and actually it's an indiana website it's

free to any indiana resident so there's a on that indiana career explorer

there's three assessments that you take and they only take like five to seven

minutes one test your interest okay what do you

like to do you know what do you think you want to

do for a living and the other is your skills what can you do right now and

also what can you learn to do and the last one is workplace values and I would

like for you to replace the word value with culture okay

culture simply what type of environment do you work in do you want to work in a

fast-paced environment or a slower one and that's what that that last

assessment will do for you and what's the you know so why do we do this again

if you're if you're really not sure if you're not a hundred percent sure of

what you want to do what your endgame is then you know you're knocking talk and

we can figure out using those assessments maybe what career path you

should be on and then hopefully that will help us match up the right academic

program for you to be following well while you're in a BTech

that is pretty much the the Indiana career explorers what we do in the

beginning all right so what do we do in the middle there's a couple other

programs that we offer one is called workforce excellence okay and that is a

program I'll talk one more little detail about in just a second but workforce

excellence through a BTech is a it's a tremendous program this is our second or

third semester of using it and one of the reasons I'm impressed with it is

because when I show it to local employers they are impressed with it and

that's what's going to make the difference so my job now is to get you

folks to sign up for Workforce Excellence and then and then my job is

also to educate the local employers of that program so if you go into an

interview and say hey I went through the you know the Ivy Tech workforce

excellence program they're gonna know what you're going to talk about and

hopefully that will separate you from your competition now what that program

the end goal of that particular program is professional skills training and

that's what I have up on the screen now it's it's like this okay we used to call

it soft skills but that is kind of touchy feeling now you know so

professional skills has replaced that particular label what are

professional skills whether things like initiatives communication teamwork

things like that and we'll pull it up later but again there's it's a four

module program takes a little more time and effort about 35 to 40 minutes per

module but well worth it in the end the end to do print up that certificate and

take it in an interview with you also this is kind of cool we really set up

job fairs career fairs transfer fairs things like that on campuses the other

thing is we offer internships now some of our internships are excuse me some of

our academic programs we require internships however if you're an

individual who is in a program that doesn't require one but you would like

to try an internship out it used to be you just try to have to find one on your

own and beg the employer to to to bring you on but the state of Indiana has

what's called the earn Indiana program and they will reimburse an employer 50

percent of your wages if if you qualify for that and this is where now we're

into the more of the traditional career services aspect of Career Development

this is again the career fairs I've mentioned before but if you're actually

ready to to enter the workforce or you think you're ready then we can go over

other skills for you resumes cover letters how to dress for

an interview interviewing is a credibly stressful stressful procedure so we can

do mock interviews we can do them online you know over your phone over your

laptop if you want to do face to face panel we can set that up

we also offer at least on the Richmond campus we offer business etiquette

dining either a launch or a dinner once an academic year and again that is we we

set it up to where you come in you get a it's a we have a professional speaker

professional presenter come in and we just go over dining etiquette because

some of your interviews maybe a lunch or a dinner and

they want to see how you react in public and if you if you know what to do so

that's not another service we offer for our students all this is really just

tied into you know just proven to you and to our employers you have what it

takes to get a job and be a successful employee don't make the only contact

that you and I have at the very tail end of your of your academic career please

come see me first okay so what we're gonna do is we're gonna look at how if

you were a student how you would find career services or career development

and be able to obtain those services so where would we go first 20 all right

again it's WWI vtec-e d you alright so it's on the screen and the easiest thing

for you to find career development is go to the search bar and type in career and

then hopefully the very first link you pulls up will be career development okay

all right now I want to again pause on this page for just a few seconds you can

see where there's information for students and alumni information for

employers now one thing I need to emphasize is if you your student okay

all these services that I've talked about so far they're free to you as a

student now when you graduate when you get that

certificate and when you're an alumni also you have access again to Career

Development on your on your Ivy Tech campus and we'll do at least 95 percent

of those services for you still again will help you with your resume it will

help you with your cover letters will help you with interviews whatever you

need but it's still keeping on this page you can see also where we have a higher

Ivy all right now that is I don't think I mentioned this in the in the

PowerPoint presentation that's again used it's a think of it as and I hate to

use this word but it's an online job posting board okay you again would use

your Ivy Tech credentials as a student to sign into it and create an account

however right now last time I checked there was 22,000 employers on higher Ivy

okay and they're fishing for our students but let's just say you're

almost ready not quite ready to enter the workforce well again this is a tool

that you can use to submit your resume to me

my goal is to take a resume take it to the faculty member that knows the

vernacular knows the field has the contacts and then will polish it up

together and then I send it back to you and if you're happy with it you can

upload it again and make it available to employers right in the middle there is

that workforce Excellence program we were talking about for I encourage

everybody every student to get in on it it's a it's a it's a fantastic product

that's the one I was talking about that a show to employers and they're like

okay you know that's what our workforce needs this kind of training

ya know the links right down the bottom yeah and I did sign up for this

yesterday I did check a couple of the videos out I did think I did one of this

I think I did the first survey yeah so if you want to do that again Jason I

don't know if y'all going signing I think I'm signed up it looks as a

student so you're a BTech student I need for you to show they need to show

Richmond as their campus and I do that okay and then and use your Ivy Tech

email address now unfortunately I don't know Jason if you have any viewers out

there that are not avi tech students they they cannot use this okay yeah this

is strictly for for us for right now okay you know but again it's a terrific

program now what I what I started pushing recently and I didn't at first

is there's an assessment tool yeah think you got your drinks that's what I did

yesterday okay where it went through and I'll just kind of show you this is after

this is the assessment that it came up with so yeah I'm teaching but it yeah it

was fairly close I'm an introvert so when I went to the personality event and

it it pegged me all the way to the left as an introvert this collaborative about

this about the middle which is work introverts you leave all so it's yeah

and that really yields a lot of valuable information now how do you remember how

about how long it took you it probably took me about 15 20 minutes only because

some of the questions I was you know making sure I understood what I was

answering before so I would go a lot probably bout 30 minutes to go through

but it's well worth the time right it seemed when you and when a student

finishes a module you can see where the last one says visit your Career

Development Center to pick up your your prize right now I do have a and what I'm

gonna call it an interviewing kit for lack of a better word there's four

components to it there is a an Ivy Tech branded riding pin for module one an Ivy

Tech branded business card holder for module two for module three when you

complete that it's a a nice padfolio and then from completing all of them

again there's a certificate for you to print up and it's there's also a satchel

for you to carry all this into alright now if again you notice we branded this

okay so Indiana career Explorer and the website address is at the bottom of the

page there what you'll notice is when you type in Indiana career Explorer calm

that'll take you to if you think if you advance the slide I didn't I didn't have

a picture if you look in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen it says

cooter cooter was a workforce psychologist who developed the

assessments that you take in here and again this is not pop psychology this

guy came up with his system decades ago has been refined it's been

polished it's been tested again and again that these assessments are really

what the workplace is looking for and they can really be used as a guide so

again you can use this as an Indiana resident in the end a student if you're

a Nabi tech especially the Nabi take a Richmond student you can use you can get

on here and then I would be your administrator if you show so yeah it

would be important I guess to should I want to sign up as that Ivy Tech with

their Ivy Tech email address yes all right so you would there it's gonna

ask you because there's a there's a high school product and there's also a an

older stood product you know set post-secondary and

even adult but I think for our purposes I always say just show yourself as a

college student in that first box and then and this is where it gets a you

know if you if you're a student who's got 30 credit hours or less show

yourself as a freshman and then it's also gonna ask you what your what year

you expect to graduate you can put it two to three years out there's not a

whole lot of difference there but what is important is the the box that says

asks you sight center or IC e sight that's where you would just type in I

think yeah I believe so okay yeah type in IV y and that pulls up all the

different campuses and again if you're not be tech Richmond student you would

just you would show yourself as a Nabi Tech Community College Richmond if you

are taking this class online and you're from another campus you know you would

select your campus and I believe they're still showing regions right now in the

central region okay Lawrenceburg campus Madison campus summer st. Camus summer

versus saying just Richmond so I'm sure maybe that's changed okay

as we go through that I know it's official as of September 16th yeah oh

yeah official official I know one day going from divisions to schools is all

16 all right okay and then um so they just do their expected graduation you're

there yep yeah there's okay yeah and this is all

you know personal information obviously and then make sure you use your your Ivy

Tech email address yes and be much easier for me to find you if you do it

that way I know some students are reluctant to do that they want to get

the email address they want to have all their email go into one but it's just

important for tracking purposes so that we can keep keep in contact with you

based on the id Tech yes that's that's a great point

okay so we sign up put in our username and then step four we just finish that

up so even in our information here okay Moomin that's where I'll take you to now

you can there's a number of ways you can get to these assessments however you

notice there's there's three almost blank blue boxes you can just click on

each one of those while you'll click on the first one obviously work through

that again these assessments let me take you know five to seven possibly ten

minutes at the most and then once you've finished then you go back to the home

page and you would click on the middle one and keep working on your way down

from there so yeah yeah and I'm just showing you a couple a couple different

ways to but also if you Jason if you if you see the red text above it yeah this

is another site where you can use it's got very useful templates to write

resumes and cover letters however when you print those up they don't look all

that professional so I would use this as a template to plug in your information

and and then print it off look at it but they actually go into a word processing

document to to make the final finished product which then again you can even

upload to hire avi if you've created that account alright and that that's one

that it's easy to skip over I yeah I think it defaults to a four-year

degree if you don't show yourself as a two-year degree so again if you put in

the wrong level of education that you that you're hoping to attain and get

with that job it'll skew the your results like crazy and so make sure

that's accurate and then you just click the begin assessment and that's what

that's when a sample one looks like okay so much probably assessing are you

creative or you more you know towards the engineering side torie more towards

okay yep hands on no and I know some of them do you know are you're more visual

or your mornings all I'm gonna those types of things too so okay

perfect Here I am alright this is very similar to the other site as well

getting the assessments okay right yeah it's all much the same and then you can

print these reports out if you like that is you know there's a there's that

button and then yeah let's go back okay you're fine there okay and then one more

yeah so if you want to just again just just check your your interests without

doing all three you can you can pull up assessments one by one or at all using

all and you know all three so okay and yeah these are all self-explanatory

right now if you look if you see the there yeah what I what I failed to show

on the bottom of all these a second only when I print screen needs I can only get

the top maybe three four seven but at the bottom and I think of every screen

in Indiana career Explorer is another link called the Hoosier hot 50 okay same

employment information just presented in a different form and actually easier to

find but it takes you to the top ten jobs in Indiana and then obviously to

the top fifty and kind of shows the same information here if you look at that

very first one broadcast technician you notice there's four I'll call them

fireballs that that's a pretty high demand five out of five is the best that

takes an account not just the salary but also the demand for the job and if you

want and again it's one of these deals where you can just keep drilling down

getting to the weeds nationwide demand statewide demand local demand all that's

in there for you it's just a matter of you know just getting around and

clicking around I should say and then job title yeah that's another

way of if you know exactly what you want to do and you want to just get down to

that information and find the salary and the domain and stuff like that you can

use the the title search for that so for example my daughter is wanting to teach

either elementary or k12 somewhere in k-12 so she could do this and then say

okay this is gonna lead into that particular and she could get more

information on that okay yep absolutely yeah we've got a lot of a lot of

services a lot of programs I encourage you again if you're a Nabi Tech student

don't make this the only time you hear about Darryl Decker get with Jason get

with me and we'll again if you enough one of my favorite quotes is Jason gave

me a new one from Winston Churchill earlier but one of my favorite quotes is

from Mike Tyson and it goes something like everybody everybody's got a plan

until they get punched in the mouth so so good metaphorically if you get

punched in the mouth in the middle of your education and you you're thinking

about a career change or you know actually at the very

beginning then maybe career elements where you need to start and we can start

assessing and then once we get you on the path that you're comfortable with

and and you know that you want to do then we can start with all the other

services

Different Types of Jedi (Legends) - Star Wars Explained - Duration: 6:01.

Hey everybody and welcome to Leia's Lair.

In this episode I will be going over the branches a Jedi can follow once they have reached knighthood.

If you are enjoying the videos, please give them a like and subscribe to the channel so

I can continue making them for you.

As you all know, once a Jedi reaches the status of Jedi Knight, they can continue their training

down one of three paths which is based on both personal preference and skill.

The first path was that of a Jedi Guardian.

This specialization was chosen by Jedi Knights who preferred taking a direct stance against

dark sided force users and anyone else who might be threatening the Republic.

Their training consisted of improving athletic skills overall, with a focus on combat.

They also practiced Force skills that could be used to disable opponents, and increase their stamina.

The highest achievement a Jedi Knight could achieve in this specialization was that of Warrior Master.

Often times Jedi Knights who trained as Jedi Guardians would build their lightsabers using a blue crystal.

This was a symbol throughout the class of solidarity and uniformity.

There were typically four different jobs that a Jedi Guardian could have.

The first was a Jedi Ace who was a member of the Jedi Starfighter Corps who combined piloting skills with force skills.

The next were the Lightsaber Instructors who were battle hardened Masters intent on passing

along their knowledge to the next generation of students in the Order.

Third there were the Jedi Peacekeepers who were placed in differing planetary and governmental

security agencies to act as special police.

Finally, there were the Jedi Weapons Masters who were Jedi specialized in wielding exotic weapons.

Notable individuals who trained as Jedi Guardians include Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker,

Obi-wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Eeth Koth, Agen Kolar, Juhani, and Bao-Dur.

On a side note, even though Jedi Guardians concentrated most on combat and lightsaber

mastery, some were naturally so strong in the Force that they had Force abilities to

a similar degree of Consulars.

Some examples of this would be Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Luke Skywalker.

The second path was that of Jedi Consular.

This specialization was chosen by Jedi who preferred working closely with Republic Diplomatic

Corps or in medical facilities. The training focused less on athleticism and more on mastery

of the force and sharpening of mental skills.

Consulars trained in non-violent uses of the force, instead harnessing the power of words and meditation.

The highest achievement a Jedi Knight could achieve in this specialization was that of Sage Master.

Jedi of this specialization were sensible, and often carried lightsabers that were green in color.

This was done so as a symbol of their commitment to peace.

There were six different jobs that a Jedi Knight trained as a Jedi Consular could have:

the first was that of Jedi Ambassador.

Ambassadors were seen as the face of the republic to new planets, and worked closely with rogue

governments with the goal of getting them to join the Republic.

Jedi Diplomats were mediators who had the job of settling tense negotiations with the

support of the Jedi Order or Senate.

A key qualification of this job was the ability remain unbiased and fair-minded.

Next, there was the Jedi Healer.

Typically they were stationed in the Halls of Healing, however sometimes they could be

sent abroad to work in mobile surgical units.

Their job was to manipulate the living force to perform healing.

The Jedi Lore Keepers were assigned the job of preserving the past by contributing to

the growth of the Jedi Archives.

Jedi Researchers worked on solving theories and updating the Archives of the Order.

Finally, the Jedi Seer were predisposed to receive visions through the force with intent

of updating the Order's holocrons.

Notable individuals include Yoda, Qui-gon Jinn, Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli,

Barriss Offee, Jolee Bindo, Kreia, Mical, Satele Shan, and Odan-Urr.

On a side note, even though Jedi Consulars concentrated on Force abilities, some were

skilled enough with a lightsaber to fight on par with Guardians.

Some examples of this would be Yoda, Shaak Ti, and Kit Fisto.

The third and final path was that of a Jedi Sentinel.

This path was preferred by Jedi who wanted to bring to light deceit and injustice.

These Jedi focused their training on a combination of the previous two specializations.

From the Jedi guardians, they sought combat training and from the Jedi Consular they sought

philosophy and teaching.

Unlike the other two specializations there was no highest achievement a Jedi Sentinel could reach.

The color of the Jedi sentinels lightsaber was typically yellow.

This represented a balance of combat and scholarly pursuits.

There were six different jobs that a Jedi Sentinel could typically have.

The first was that of a Jedi Investigator.

These Jedi worked alone to reveal hidden threats to the galaxy such as criminal syndicates

or conspiracies against the Republic.

They were chosen specially by the High Council.

Next we have the Jedi Recruiters.

Their job was to find force-sensitive individuals and decide whether or not they would train as Jedi.

The Jedi Artisan would focus on creativity as a central aspect of the Force, and they

would typically help to construct lightsabers and holocrons for the order, amongst other

artistic and unique objects.

The Jedi Shadow were secret police of the Order who worked to destroy agents of the dark side.

Jedi Temple guards were Jedi who worked anonymously as security for the Jedi Temples.

They were distinguishable by their yellow lightsaber pikes.

Finally there were the Jedi Watchmen.

They typically were assigned to oversee a particular system and possessed specific knowledge of that system.

Notable individuals that were Jedi Sentinels include Bastila Shan, Atton Rand, Mira, Visas Marr,

Jaden Korr, and Quinlan Vos.

And there you have it! The three training branches a Jedi could follow upon receiving their knighthood.

Thanks for watching everyone.

Which branch of Jedi training would you follow?

Let me know down below in the comments section.

And remember to like and subscribe to the channel for more great videos to come.

I hope to see you all again in Leia's Lair.

MILA | Ép 1 | As-tu peur ? - Duration: 12:13.

This is dedicated to our friends, from the past and the present.

Alright everyone… Put on your hats!

You know Mila, she is going to find this funny.

Where is Alice? We said 5:00.

She's coming.

Oh my god: it's the most ridiculous 18th birthday party that I have ever seen.

It's for Mila.

Yeah, I'm just joking.

Hi Alice. Where are you ? We said 5 :00.

Ok. Someone will open the door for you.

Lily, can you open the door? Alice is here.

When Mila gets here, should we all hide ?

Yes, exactly! I was thinking that we could hide behind the rugs and then uh…

when she comes, we can yell out: Happy Birthday Mila!

Yeah, but what's the signal?

I'll give you the signal.

Hey, hello!

Hi Alice, how are you doing ?

Good, good.

Ok. Mila should be coming soon.

Euh, could you call her please ?

Yes, just don't make any noise.

Hello, you have reached Mila Desrosiers. I'm not here right now, but leave me a message. Thank you!

Yeah Mi. I'm waiting for you in my living room.

You can come in through the front door. Can't wait to see you.

Ok, everyone, it's Mila.

Euh… Hi Mi?

Happy Birthday.

Hello Ms Desrosiers.

Aah… I'm just waiting for her.

September 2016

Laurent, right ?

Uuh, yeah.

Hi, I'm Elian.

Hi.

Well, Mr Caron asked me to show you your locker.

Ok cool.

It's right here.

Lockers, Laurent. Laurent, lockers.

Nice to meet you.

So if you have any questions, I'm here.

That's great. Thanks man.

Yo man, are you the new guy?

Yeah.

I'm Jeff, man.

I'm Laurent.

Hi.

So how's the French teacher?

The French teacher?

She is hot, my friend.

Yeah.

Yo, come have a beer with us, man.

It's the first day. Let's celebrate !

Yeah, alright! Why not ?

She hasn't disappeared, has she ?

She left her phone.

I don't understand.

Hey, what's up?

Do you want a beer ?

No, I'm not drinking today.

Come on. Just a beer.

No, no. I'm having dinner afterwards with my parents. That would be awkward.

So you don't usually drink with your buddies?

Yeah, I do drink.

So, we are not your friends?

Well, yeah.

I'm just kidding.

Anyway, if you don't want a drink, I have something for you.

What's that ?

It's just some weed, bro.

No, I know… but I'm not in the mood to smoke today.

What's the problem. Are you scared?

No, I'm not in the mood.

I'm leaving.

For real, what's the matter man?

Yo, are you ok?

Yeah, and you?

Yes. How were your first days?

Not so bad.

I'm meeting up with some friends.

Do you want to come out for a bite with us?

Yeah, why not ?

Alright, follow me!

Alright guys. I'm going to introduce you.

Alice, Laurent. Lily, Laurent. Mila, Laurent.

Hi.

Are you going to sit down?

Yeah, yeah, that's what I was going to do.

School. One week in. It's not too tough ?

No, no, it's cool! It's quite calm for a school.

Where did you go before?

I was in the suburbs. There was like 120 of us in the whole school.

That must have been fun.

Yeah, it was…it was really fun.

You're coming Friday, right ?

What's on Friday?

It's the school dance

The school organizes it every year in September.

For real, it's worth it.

Uhh, yeah, yeah. I'll come.

I didn't sleep. I just couldn't…

Me neither.

Now the police … What the f*ck?

I don't understand… it's not her.

Alright, the budget is larger than it was last year!

No! Last year, there was a DJ and everything.

Yeah, now there is a band!

Guys, can't we just go get some punch?

I hate high heels.

You're not asking a girl to dance?

Yeah, yeah.

Do you want to dance with me?

I'm so bad at dancing, but yeah.

Can we go outside for two seconds?

Yeah, yeah.

You'll see. It's crazy down there!

Do we have to climb over a fence?

You're scared ?

No...

That was easy...

It's fun!

Shh… Listen.

What's the matter?

Silence. There's nothing more beautiful than silence.

You're right. It's beautiful.

Stop kidding around.

But it's true… I'm serious.

Thanks.

You're right. It is beautiful.

No, I don't have more news.

You are going to continue to look and we are going to find her.

It's my daughter. I know her. She couldn't have left.

Yeah, I understand. Thank you, sir.

BREAKING: NFL Team Owners Panic Over Fan Boycott… "We're Losing Money" | Top Stories Today - Duration: 4:24.

We had a feeling it would only take a week or so to apply pressure from millions of angry

football fans to get the NFL and team owners talking about lost revenue.

So far, ratings are plummeting, ticket sales are dropping and small businesses across the

United States are taking a stand and turning off the games.

But now it's getting even more serious.

Major team owners like Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft want players to stop the "take a knee"

crap because they're starting to feel the sting of lost revenue from boycotting fans.

Total Sports reports:

During the 2016 NFL season, you could count on two hands (or maybe even one) the amount

of players that were kneeling during the national anthem.

This season, on the other hand, has seen hundreds of players with various demonstrations during

the anthem, and the blowback from it has been quite significant.

Many teams around the league released statement regarding the controversial comments from

President Donald Trump, basically denouncing what he said about players kneeling.

In reality, though, the owners want the players to stop kneeling as well, because if they

are not already losing money as a result of the protests, they will be soon.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder are at the forefront

of this movement to stop anthem protests, according to ESPN.

"It certainly was my takeaway that the commissioner was looking for a way for the protests to

end," Smith said Friday when asked about his 30-minute conversation with Goodell.

Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots and Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, expressed

concerns last week that the optics of hundreds of players kneeling, sitting or remaining

in the locker room during the playing of the national anthem had alienated many fans at

a particularly perilous moment for the NFL.

There was a meeting with owners and league executives to discuss what had happened.

By then, Trump had tweeted nearly two dozen times attacking the NFL and its players.

Tempers were hot.

One owner barked angrily at Lockhart, who declined to comment about the matter, echoing

a sentiment that most of them — especially Jones — shared: Nobody wanted to engage

in a political mud fight with the White House, even if "they were all pissed at the president,"

a league source said.

Then the topic turned to the subject of angry fan bases and nervous sponsors.

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, in particular, each had received significant

blowback from their fan bases and sponsors.

Fans had booed the Patriots and Cardinals for kneeling, and disgusted fans posted on

Facebook and YouTube videos of them burning NFL merchandise.

Going forward, however, some owners preferred a league-wide directive.

Dan Snyder, the Washington Redskins' owner and who declined to comment through a spokesman,

argued that the protests needed to end because of the danger that the issue posed to the

league's bottom line.

A "$40 million" NFL sponsor was considering pulling out, he told his fellow owners.

In the meeting, many owners wanted to speak, but the discussion soon was "hijacked,"

in the words of one owner, by Jones, a $1 million contributor to Trump's inaugural

committee fund and who declined comment through a spokesman.

The blunt Hall of Famer mentioned that he had spoken by phone, more than once over the

past 24 hours, with Trump.

Jones said the president, who only a few years ago tried to buy the Buffalo Bills, had no

intention of backing down from his criticism of the NFL and its players.

"We can't just tell them to stop," Goodell said of the players' protests.

Many owners immediately argued otherwise.

"We need to find a way where Trump doesn't win," one said, and that meant using leverage

as employers to end the protests.

Another said, "We'll get our guys in line."

It was clear to many in the room that this was a regional issue as much as a political

one, with owners' tolerance for kneeling shaped more by their fans in local markets

than their own personal politics.

Dan Snyder, who had joined his players in arms at FedEx Field on Sunday night, was in

an especially divisive market and was particularly dismissive of the kneeling.

Once the money starts being affected, you best believe there will be rules instituted

that outlaw kneeling in the future.

Thank you for watching...

Justice League NEWS Final Trailer New DETAILS!!! New Footage REVEALED? Will Legion Of Doom APPEAR? - Duration: 7:21.

what is good YouTube Warstu here with a video on the Justice League movie

just like I said it's every day we're gonna drop it just a cig video every

single day till November the 17th when the movie actually comes out so the

official Justice League UK page posted that the trainer will be dropping at 2

p.m. UK time so don't worry guys I will be able to get my trainer breakdown and

my trailer reaction ready for when I upload before I go doing my stuff so

guys I've decided to officially drop the official war suit Justice League to sure

it's on uh it's on sale for a limited time it's a bit expensive but if anyone

wants to drop one I will drop the link in the description I'll also drop the

link above are also put an image of the buff so if you want to support me and if

you're real Washu fan you know where to go so this weekend is New York Comic Con

it started on Thursday and we've got some pretty cool images from New York

Times Square we've got the Batmobile we've got Bruce Wayne in the Mercedes

and it's pretty sick so I'm going to drop the footage now and then I've come

back to talk about more about the trailer and what's coming and more about

what these new images tell us so I will be back after this clip

shall we

today we've got something very exciting extremely exclusive it's been built

especially for the show the brand new e-class convertible from mercedes-benz

this car is a prototype and we have it here exclusively for Wonder Woman

in order for us to be able to relate to this movie we need to have things that

we are all familiar with and who's not familiar with Mercedes right so I think

it was a good choice I was very impressed the car Diana drives is very

elegant and not too flashy very chic and practical

to keep the car and left driving hey

what are your superpowers again I'm rich

Bruce Wayne has no shortage of ways to get around these up is pretty cool

civilian Mercedes car that we're showing in the movie which is pretty awesome so

I guess you can all greet how amazing that actual footage was it's so awesome

that Mercedes has released that clip I will put a link in the description to

the full footage so within the video footage we see Bruce Wayne talking to

Barry Allen and it's the scene that we seen in the trailer where Bruce Wayne

says to Barry Allen Oh Barry Allen sister Bruce Wayne what's

your superpower and he says I'm rich but what's interesting if we see central

city ironically pointed on a sign it's just a hint of flash point is there's a

hint to some may be possible flashback origin story the Mercedes Benz AMG looks

amazing and it was custom made for Ben Affleck because he's six foot four to

get him in it and to make it look awesome they had to add ten percent to

the overall car which is pretty cool we also get to see behind the scenes a gal

gadot gain out of the Mercedes which she also had to have custom-made

was just pretty interesting getting to see her being filmed from behind the

director so we were seeing it being filmed firsthand which we don't normally

get see and a lot of it is BTS which means behind the scenes so the image we

get to see Barry Allen and Bruce on a bridge which is cool because we get to

see it before and after like it's just really a CGI room with a tower and then

it looks like they're on a bridge which is pretty awesome so we get to see a

stunning scene of the flying fox which looks amazing and if you remember the

flying fox was in the background of the kind of Deathstroke

test footage that we got so who is hyped for the Justice League final trailer to

come out on the Sunday what could happen we'll sue man actually appear I believe

he's will appear but I believe the marketing is going to be clever I think

it's going to be a indirect hint like the Alfred scene like we're going to see

something but they won't actually qualify or verify if it's him it's just

gonna keep you guessing until November so Deathstroke needs to be in this movie

Joe man John I'm gonna get milked for that but yeah car says I'm playing Slade

Wilson he has so much potential Annie nice

the movie speak at him did he tease the Legion of Doom come in to the Justice II

movie potentially he wore a shirt on the image

online the shirt is black with white lettering that spells out Legion of Doom

and of course this isn't doesn't really look the same as the Justice League but

Joe knows exactly what he's doing there's a reason he's wearing that top

that says the Legion of Doom and also if he watched legends tomorrow at Legion of

Doom was actually the villains this year in legion of Doom's our Justice League

villains if I'm correct in think so I'm pretty sure it is I'd love to know

what you guys were expecting from the final trailer which drew up Sunday 2

p.m. I will be reviewing it breaking down maybe trave action if you guys want

it it is rumored to be 2 minutes and 25 seconds so recently it was said that the

DC EU the DC extended universe isn't actually called that it was called that

on some rap report or some fan offs I think which is very interesting because

everyone refers to as the DC you but it's not officially called the DC you so

what did the Warner Brothers people call it the DC Cinematic Universe would love

to know what you guys think so like I said before guys I would do any kind of

Justice II content in which to do so just drop the comments down below what

video don't beat it next I've got some couple of theory videos come up in next

couple of days the merch is being dropped it's just the jokes don't take

too serious I'm not thinking I'm someone big time it's literally just to see if

anyone would be interested in buying it so remember the Justice League trailer

is coming out 2 p.m. Sunday 9:00 a.m. ET time which i think is Eastern Time maybe

but anyway guys please like subscribe and comment if you can let's try and get

the channel to 5000 subscribers by Tuesday we are so close

hit that notification button sorry this video has been a bit boring but there

was a bit of news and I wanted to put kind of it's a bit like it Justice

League news video suppose you could say I wanted to show you guys a new footage

if you didn't get a chance to see it because my Justice League videos do get

a lot of traction so guys thanks for tuning in I will catch you soon catcher

later

A New Mathematical Model of the Origin of Life - Duration: 5:35.

[INTRO ♪]

Mathematical modeling can seem like maybe a dry profession,

but when you get to pull in findings from a half dozen different fields,

the results can be especially awesome.

Like, a paper published this week by a team of scientists in Canada and Germany

confirming a piece of speculation going all the way back to Darwin.

This research suggests that the Earth's biochemistry could've originated

in warm ponds on newly formed continents between 4.5 and 3.7 billion years ago,

with the help of meteor strikes that used to rock the planet.

And it supports the hypothesis that the earliest biochemical processes

centered around ribonucleic acid, or RNA.

For this paper, the team constructed a detailed mathematical model

of the conditions of early Earth, and filled that model with small ponds.

The ponds were small enough that they would sometimes dry out in seasonal cycles.

Their model accounted for meteorites supplying some raw materials

for chemical reactions, like nucleobases,

which are some of the building blocks of DNA and RNA.

Previous research has found that nucleobases can actually be formed

in space, and we've found them in meteorites before.

But for those nucleobases to do anything life-wise,

they have to come together in a chemical chain, or polymer.

The team's model found that if the ponds were able to dry out periodically,

the evaporation and precipitation cycles created the right conditions

for RNA polymers to form and remain fairly stable.

Other lab studies have suggested that a hot and dry step could

concentrate the ingredients and encourage the reactions that form the polymer bonds.

And then adding water gives everything a good mix to bring in more chemical components.

In cells like ours, RNA acts as a go-between for DNA and protein.

Plus it makes up some of the most ancient cellular structures, like ribosomes.

So some researchers hypothesize that RNA used to fulfill the roles

of genetic code and biological machinery—

until more stable, more flexible DNA and protein took on those jobs.

This team pieced together prior research from fields as diverse as

chemistry and astrophysics to do a calculation no one's ever done before

about the state of the early Earth, although these ideas

have been floating around for a while.

The phrase "warm little pond" was actually coined by Charles Darwin,

who imagined a place with plenty of nutrients and energy

for the chemical origins of life, and while Darwin was no biochemist,

the idea has held up.

In recent decades, some have argued that deep sea hydrothermal vents

are a more likely place for the origin of life than ponds at the surface.

But this study suggests that those wet and dry cycles are essential to form RNA polymers,

so it couldn't happen at the bottom of the ocean.

And Darwin's delightful phrase continues to bear scientific weight.

In much more modern biochemistry news,

scientists are looking into ways to supply diabetes patients with more insulin.

An international team of researchers based out of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York

reported this week that they're looking into an unexpected source: tumors.

We tend to conflate tumors with cancer and believe that they're always bad.

But in medical terms, a tumor is a mass of cells or other stuff like fluid

that can pop up for a number of reasons.

Sometimes our bodies just develop lumps that are basically harmless.

One rare kind of mostly harmless tumor is an insulinoma,

formed by pancreatic beta cells.

These cells produce the insulin your body uses to manage blood sugar,

by instructing cells to store glucose or convert it into energy.

Someone with an insulinoma might experience symptoms of low blood sugar,

but a surgeon can usually nip the tumor out, and the symptoms go away.

Plus, insulinomas don't tend to spread,

so they're not considered cancerous or very dangerous.

So they're usually low-priority targets for cancer researchers.

But there are people who could really use more insulin in their lives.

Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients

can fail to get as much insulin as they need from their pancreas.

And researchers have had very little luck so far using drugs or other treatments

to convince adult beta cells to up their insulin output or divide.

The Mount Sinai team figured diabetes patients

and a too-much-insulin tumor were a perfect match.

So they collected 38 insulinomas and analyzed the genes those tumors expressed.

Then, they compared that pattern of gene expression to normal beta cells,

because what's different in the insulinomas is probably driving those cells to grow.

The team's previous research identified a growth pathway in beta cells

that could be turned on using a drug called harmine,

which is a naturally occurring psychoactive compound.

That genetic pathway showed up in the new research, but so did others.

And while there was a lot of genetic variation between insulinomas,

many of the tumors showed changes in genes that

modulate the expression of other genes—

including a well-known gene called EZH2, which has roles in early development.

So there might be other ways to encourage beta cells to grow in diabetes patients,

and scientists have new genes to target with drugs.

Which is a pretty cool thing to learn from some weird, rare tumors!

The Disappointing Shady Side Of Justin Timberlake - Duration: 5:34.

Justin Timberlake is a successful musician who's also managed to make his mark in the

movie industry.

But his rise to fame has also been tinged with tons of tabloid gossip about his relationships

and behaviors behind the scenes.

From wardrobe malfunctions to manufactured drama, here are all the times JT has been

out of sync.

Bad breakup

Justin Timberlake dated Britney Spears when they were both still at the top of their teen

pop stardom, but their breakup was ugly in more ways than one.

After the split, Timberlake did an interview on 20/20 in which he revealed that he had,

in fact, been intimate with Spears — even though the singer had told press she planned

on remaining a virgin until marriage.

For her part, Spears was not happy with Timberlake kissing and telling and said, "It was two

years into my relationship with Justin.

And I thought he was the one.

But I was wrong.

I didn't think he was gonna go on Barbara Walters and sell me out."

Despite her embarrassed reaction, however, Timberlake continued to bring up his bedroom

history with Spears and even included a reference to it in his Saturday Night Live sketch half

a decade later.

"I'd like to think that at first he'll date a popular female singer.

Publicly they'll claim to be virgins, but privately… he hit it."

And Timberlake wasn't done punishing Spears with just words.

He went on to drop the passive-aggressive pop track "Cry Me a River" about a cheater

getting her comeuppance.

He even cast a Britney Spears look-alike and had his new paramour rock a halter top and

low-cut pants just to make sure no one missed the memo on who that song was about.

Blame game

Although Justin Timberlake had a direct hand in the wardrobe malfunction heard 'round the

world, he shouldered very little blame for the accidental exposure incident.

In 2004, while performing the Super Bowl halftime show with Janet Jackson, the routine concluded

in him pulling at a piece of her costume to match his lyrical promise to have her, quote,

"naked by the end of this song."

It's hard to tell what the intent was with him tugging at her top that way, but the move

left Jackson's jewelry-adorned nipple open for millions of viewers to gawk at, and the

fallout was massive.

Hundreds of thousands of complaints were filed with the FCC, and CBS had to fight a major

fine as a result.

And despite multiple apologies, Jackson's music videos were banned from several channels

and she was barred from appearing at the Grammys that year.

To this day, one could argue that her career never really recovered.

Timberlake, meanwhile, received little to no backlash at all.

Not only did he attend that season's Grammys — and win — he boasted after the incident,

"Hey man, we love giving you all something to talk about."

He even made light of the situation at the 2008 ESPY Awards.

And although the FCC chairman has since apologized to Jackson for the hubbub, Timberlake would

later say, "I'm not touching that thing with a 10-foot pole."

What a gentleman.

Twitter trouble

In 2016, Timberlake learned a lesson that many other celebrities have awkwardly grasped

since the beginning of social media age: think before you tweet.

Timberlake tweeted that he had been inspired by the speech that actor Jesse Williams gave

while accepting the Humanitarian Award at the BET Awards that July.

But he was met with immediate disdain, chiefly by journalist Ernest Owens, who wrote, "So

does this mean you're going to stop appropriating our music and culture?

… And apologize to Janet too."

Timberlake responded by writing, "Oh, you sweet soul.

The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a conversation.

Bye."

That, of course, only made things worse — so bad, in fact, that JT issued an apology mere

hours later, saying, "I feel misunderstood.

I responded to a specific tweet that wasn't meant to be a general response.

I shouldn't have responded anyway…

I was truly inspired by [Jesse Williams'] speech because I really do feel that we are

all one…

A human race.

I apologize to anyone that felt I was out of turn.

I have nothing but LOVE FOR YOU AND ALL OF US."

But for some, it was too little, too Timberlate.

Title troubles

2016 wasn't exactly a great year overall for Timberlake.

The singer was accused in three separate lawsuits of ripping off songs.

The first incident came in January, when two members of the '70s group Sly, Slick and Wicked

sued Timberlake's record label, alleging that the Timberlake-Jay-Z hit "Suit & Tie" sampled

its song "Sho' Nuf" and entitled the band to royalties.

The following month, Timberlake and will.i.am were sued by PK Music Performance, which alleged

that the 2006 song "Damn Girl" was "not the product of independent creation" and actually

copied portions of the 1969 song "A New Day (Is Here at Last)."

Then in April, Timberlake was sued by — believe it or not — Cirque du Soleil, over the song

"Don't Hold the Wall," which the theater company claimed copied its song "Steel Dream."

Boy band backup

Timberlake owes much of his career to the success of boy band 'N SYNC, which dominated

the pop music world in the late '90s and early 2000s.

But in recent years, Timberlake has done a lot to distance himself from his original

group.

For one thing, he didn't invite the other four guys to his wedding to Jessica Biel.

Then, despite inviting the guys to perform during his Video Vanguard celebration at the

2013 MTV Music Video Awards, they wound up barely appearing on stage, which allegedly

upset them.

Then, in February 2017, Timberlake spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about why he left the

boy band and claimed, "We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing

was too big.

It started as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche.

And, also, I was growing out of it … I felt like I cared more about the music than some

of the other people in the group.

I felt like I had other music I wanted to make and that I needed to follow my heart."

Granted, being forced to wear matching leather outfits and sing songs called "Digital Get

Down" sounds like a miserable experience, but come on: don't bite the hand that once

fed you millions of dollars.
