Hello, everybody! I'm Matthew Rodrigues,

and welcome to another episode of

The World Of.

Last week, we took a trip down south

to The World of LUZIA.

This week, we're getting up close and personal

with the ingenious insects of OVO.

OVO began as a touring Big Top show

and then was revamped in 2016

for an arena tour,

giving audiences another chance to bug out

with the cast of OVO.

OVO is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem

beaming with life,

where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight

and look for love in a non-stop riot

of energy and movement.

Like, a lot of energy is happening here!

There is a lot going on!

There's a lot of bugs!

Oh, a bug! Oh, God, a bug!

DON'T WORRY!

I hate bugs.

The insects' home is a world of biodiversity

and beauty filled with noisy action

and moments of quiet emotion.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst,

the insects are awestruck

and intensely curious about this iconic object

that represents the enigma and cycle of their lives.

It's love at first sight when a gawky,

quirky insect arrives in this bustling community

and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye—

and the feeling is mutual.

Guys, you're gonna love the ladybug.

She's so cute.

She's got a little hat.

OVO is overflowing with contrasts.

The hidden, secret world at our feet

is revealed as tender and torrid,

noisy and quiet,

peaceful and chaotic.

As the sun rises on a bright new day,

the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.

And don't worry,

today we have a special guest.

Now, it's time for my favorite part of the show:

Fun Facts.

Zoom in, zoom out,

zoom in, zoom out.

The wall measures 64 feet wide by 30 feet tall

and is a giant projection surface

that is used all across the show.

The egg, which is actually inflatable—

that's inflatable?

Is it really?

Like who is pumping that up every show?

Like a bicycle pump?

Is that how we do it?

The egg, which is inflatable,

measures 28 feet wide and 22 feet tall—

that is one big egg.

The acrobatic structure is 45 feet from the ground

and weighs over 22,000 pounds—

that is a big bug.

The stage floor is actually made out of 225 panels.

That is not a fun fact!

Who cares?

Here's a fun fact:

Matthew Rodrigues

was actually one of the bartenders

at a concession stand

when OVO went on tour

in Santa Monica, California.

That's right, I was schlepping drinks for cash,

and now look at me,

host of this Cirque du Soleil YouTube show!

My mom and dad are so proud.

One of our favorite acts from OVO

is the trampo-wall.

Guys, I saw this in real life.

It's insane.

There's like these trampolines

and then they jump,

and then they go up against the wall,

and then they bounce back,

and then they jump, and they hit.

Oh, geez…

It's a little different than that,

but you get the idea.

Just roll it.

Sega Genesis FMV Updates: More 16-bit Masterpieces by Matteus | SmokeMonster - Duration: 9:01.

Matteus has continued to release more of his genesis FMVs, and he also started a really

interesting new project which is converting Road Blaster (or Road Avenger), the old arcade

game, FMV style driving game that made its way to a few other platforms, to work on the

Genesis.

Which is really cool.

He's trying to source the PC--there's a rare PC version of Road Blaster--I think from the

late '90s or early 2000s--he talks about it in the thread.

He's trying to get the video from that, right now he's using the laser disc, which is a

little lower quality that he'd like, so if you have access to that please contact him.

He's also released new versions of his FMVs with better frame-rates and proper timing.

And he's done some really cool intros for the old Transformers cartoon, the Transformers

Movie, he also has more custom tracks by Alianger, he's done the intro to DuckTales the cartoon,

and Batman the Animated Series, and M.A.S.K.

So I recommend going and subscribing to his channel to see all of the cool stuff that

he's working on.

And I'm also curating the folder that holds all of his works for the Sega-16 Forum, so

everything that he does just goes in one place.

I'll put a link to that below too.

After I filmed the first segment, Matteus released a new version of Road Blaster with

a new soundtrack by Alianger.

Which I have his permission to play next.

He's also done an FMV for my YouTube Channel, which is really cool and you can stayed tuned

for that at the end of the video.

5 Amazingly Terrifying Painted Faces - Horror Month 2017 - Day 6 - Duration: 3:23.

Geeky Gaming Hey Geeks, it's Andrea.

One of my favorite things about Horror Month is the makeup.

Yeah, it's done all year round, but during October, people tend to go a little crazy

and I really love it.

I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was like 10, but watching people do amazing

makeups, really makes me want to get into it.

So let's take a look at these 5 amazing artists doing some terrifying and beautiful

work on their faces.

Alright Geeks, let's go.

Madeyewlook - Scary Water Fairy Makeup Here is a makeup style that shows that nature

can be pretty freaking terrifying.

This look combines the features of an angler fish into a fairy-like body makeup.

So it is like a fairy with an angler-fish face.

It's colorful, well done, and definitely hits the spooky factor.

I'm sure she will make a splash this Halloween.

Eh eh?

Yeah, okay, I hate myself too.

Brianna Fox - Skull Makeup I definitely had to put a skull makeup on

this list and I had to go with this one.

She put so much depth into the bone structure and it really gives a creepy vibe.

In a good way.

If you put a black robe on, this would be the best grim reaper costume.

Glam&Gore - Torn Face Although I'm that person that covers their

face whenever the violent or gore filled scenes show up on a show or movie, I love seeing

makeup jobs like this.

Side note, if you have seen Gerald's Game on Netflix…

Holy freaking cow, that scene.

You know the scene.

Jesus.

Anyway, back to this makeup.

The artist did a fantastic job making the skin look irritated from, well, having a chunk

of the face and neck removed.

It's the subtle things like that that really sell a wound makeup job.

Anoushka - Jeff The Killer As I said during last year's Horror Month,

Jeff the Killer is one of those stories that I really hate that is so poorly written and

just.. bad.

Because the pictures, drawings, and overall design of the character is so terrifying.

This artist does an amazing job recreating the lack of eyelids, nose, and lips in her

take of the Jeff the Killer makeup.

You recognize it instantly for what it is and it came out pretty freaking terrifying.

Pinkstylist - Smiler I love Pink Stylist.

Josh and I used to watch his videos all the time.

He has so many amazing makeup jobs, this is just one of many.

I'm sure everyone of these artists do, I just have fond memories of watching this one

in particular.

I love the disturbing smile on this one.

It's so huge and creepy.

And the way he designed it to look like his skin is being held open.

It's one of my favorites.
