Muslim nations declare East Jerusalem as Palestinian capital - Duration: 2:19.

Muslim nations are reacting to President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital

of Israel.

Dozens of countries are urging the world to reject that decision and to recognize East

Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Ro Aram reports.

The leaders of 57 Muslim nations, otherwise known as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,

have declared East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital, calling on the international community

to follow in its footsteps.

Wednesday's summit was hosted by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who has criticized the U.S.

for its stance on Jerusalem.

(Turkish)AP - 4130606 / 1 "… In our view, Jerusalem is the capital

of the state of Palestine and will remain as such.

I invite other countries to recognize Jerusalem as the occupied capital of the state of Palestine."

The OIC added that Trump's "dangerous declaration" to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital

was "null and void and lacks any legitimacy."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused the U.S. of being biased in favor of Israel,

saying it no longer had any role to play in the peace process.

(Arabic) AP - 4130589 / 1 "The United States is not an unbiased mediator.

And we don't accept, as Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims, we are no longer able to accept

the role of America as mediator for which the basic necessary condition is unbiased

integrity.

We will go to the United Nations Security Council to decide this resolution, according

to the United Nations."

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was "not impressed" by the OIC's statement.

He added that the Palestinians would do better by recognising reality and acting in favour

of peace and not extremism.

He also went on to say that other countries will follow the U.S. and move their embassies

to Jerusalem.

The city is home to key religious sites sacred to Judaism, Islam and Christianity, especially

in East Jerusalem.

Israel regards the entire city as its capital, a stance not taken by the international community,

until recently.

But Palestine claims East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state, and that its final

status should be discussed in the latter stages of peace talks.

'Not time for talks': White House backtracks from Tillerson's comments - Duration: 2:15.

The White House says NO dialogue can take place between the United States and North

Korea... until the regime changes its behavior.

This completely contradicts an earlier remark by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson,... who

said Washington was ready to hold talks... at any time... and without preconditions.

Kwon Jang-ho tells us more.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council told Reuters on Wednesday,...

that "now is not the time" for negotiations with North Korea... given its recent ballistic

missile test.

The official said that any negotiations with North Korea "must wait until the regime improves

its behavior", which must include no further nuclear or missile tests.

This comes in stark contrast to remarks made by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday,

who seemed to go against the Trump administration's hardline policy by saying the U.S. was ready

to hold talks with Pyongyang at any time without preconditions.

(English) Reuters 2238 "Let's just meet, and we can talk about the

weather if you want...

But can we at least sit down and see each other face to face.

And then we can begin to lay out a map, a roadmap of what we might be willing to work

towards."

The State Department was quick to try and clarify its position on Wednesday as well,

with spokesperson Heather Nauert stressing there was no change in the North Korea policy,

and that the administration would be ready to talk to Pyongyang if they showed signs

they were serious, but so far there have not been any such signs.

These contradictory statements fuel further speculation that Tillerson's relationship

with the president is becoming increasingly strained.

Reports emerged last month,... that Trump was considering a plan to remove him from

his administration.

But regardless of Tillerson's offer of dialogue,... Pyongyang may not be willing to sit down for

talks just yet anyway.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the UN official, Jeffrey Feltman, who recently returned

from a trip to North Korea, told Security Council members in a closed door briefing

that the regime plans to continue developing its nuclear program until it achieves a deterrent

capability... and until then it is not likely to engage

in talks.

AYS Daily Growth Hacks 208 Revisit: Go Make Your Bed - Duration: 6:57.

Hi, it's Doug Holt with Author of Your Own Story. And in today's episode we're

gonna revisit one of our most popular Daily Growth Hacks. So grab your notebooks

and remember the key to success is doing the work.

Let's get started. Today's topic: Go Make Your Bed.

Hi, I'm Doug Holt with Author of Your Own Story. And this is your Daily Growth Hack,

where each day would give you a tip, trick or insight to help you up level

what we call the Five to Thrive. That is your mind, your body, your soul, your

relationships and your business. Now, I was talking to a client early. This

morning and by anybody's outside perspective he was an amazingly

successful man he had done all kinds of great things he owns his own law firm

he's got an amazing family a loving wife and two beautiful young children he's a

leader in his community he sits on civic organizations as well as sits on the

board of several nonprofits if you were looking from the outside in you think

this guy had it all but inside he wasn't feeling good he was dying inside and

that's why we were talking you see every day he would come home and just feel

unfulfilled yeah he loves seeing his kids and his wife but inside just it

wasn't right for him he wasn't achieving greatness and one of the reasons that he

reached out to me was like Doug I'm just not living the life that I want I got

one shot at this game that was his belief system I have one shot at this

game and I want to do the best possible and so in our conversations we talked

about it of what his day was like and you know he gets up in the morning goes

to work early has coffee works out at lunch you know goes through and just

meetings and at night you know go home play with the kids maybe do some stuff

for some of the civic organizations and then he goes home has a couple cocktails

and goes to bed now pretty typical for a business owner especially a successful

business owner right you have that way of how do we you know discharge the end

of the night what he was feeling his team wasn't feeling accomplished you

know all these accomplishments he had but he had all his to-do list was was

huge and the day would go and he'd see all these bad things through his

practice going on in the world and just wasn't living his life so I gave him one

tip no I gave him a lot but one tip that I'm going to share with you now one tip

is make your bed in the morning now this served me really well and has served him

as also so make your bed early in the morning and I got this after listening

to the University of Texas at Austin 2014 commencement speech now that was by

Admiral William H McRaven I to read that off amazing man it sounds

like very inspirational and I hope to meet him someday I was really impressed

by what he was doing and so what he caused me to do is start making my bed

every day you see making your bed you know is easy but like most things it's

easy not to do and I was always of the mindset of well why make my bed because

I'm just gonna get in it later and mess it up and you know hopefully mess it up

in the day and have a good time and even when I check into hotels on traveling

speaking or meeting clients or just traveling for fun for one of the first

things I do if I stay in the hotel is I take his sheets and I take the corners

that tucked in I rip them out cuz I just hate that constraint I feel like I'm

just confined when I'm in that bed that's tucked in but what I've started

doing is after listening to the speech is I started making my bed now here's

one the reasons why now when you make your bed in the morning it does a couple

things one is you start your day off with one small accomplishment now this

one small accomplishment doesn't sound big but it's this first stepping stone

to the rest of your day right it's just like if you want to lose weight right

you don't throw in a marathon you just need to take a single step it's the

first step along the journey of a successful day now making your bed I was

surprised at how much I felt better walking back into my bedroom

it just looked cleaner nicer I just had a better feeling but also I was even

more surprised is the effect it had on my wife so we have a newborn and so

we're not sleeping quite as much as we'd like to so when I come back I get up at

5:15 in the morning but when I come back and she's up and I go back and I make

the bed Wow it makes her feel great it shows her that I'm on the same team as

her helping out around the house it shows her that there's one small thing

that's getting done that allows her to go throughout the day right there's so

much going on with our newborn and so much going on with our lives and we love

the travel and play so we're always on the go but having that bed may just

makes her feel better and it makes me feel better warms my heart now the

animal talks about and I found this to work in my life - and I'm telling my

client to do the same and I'm giving you the opportunity to try it as well by

making your bed whatever happens to the day there's so much going on in the

world you mean you watch the news it's so much negativity of there's wars over

here South Korea Syria all over the place is flooding and

Houston in Florida it's just uh it's mind-boggling right but when you make

your bed what happens is by the end of the day you come back in from that

whatever is happening hopefully your day is glorious but whatever happened you

come back in and seeing your bed made as a reminder of the accomplishment that

you've achieved right the small little accomplishment you're also able to tuck

yourself in to a nicely made bed that's already warm and can embrace you and

make you feel so so good now I still don't tuck my sheets in but I love the

bed being made and also is just a reminder of the little things in life to

be grateful for I found this to actually be one of these small little things that

I can do these small little hacks that the Admiral gave me but I can do in my

day to just make it a little bit better and again if we're going for one percent

better every day that accumulates over time these little things that we can do

oftentimes as business owners we focus on the business so much that you know

other parts of our v to thrive can go away this is one small thing we can do

to have an accomplishment done every day and even if it's small and even if

you're not trying to have accomplishments psychologically that

intention putting your attention forward to being successful or to be moving

forward really helps it's amazing and I invite

you to try it what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna throw the video of the speech and

I recommend watching the whole speech I'm gonna throw that on to the author of

your own story Facebook community page and I'm not gonna ask my team to put

this video also on the website so you can see it I highly encourage you going

over you're watching this right now click over watch the video you'll get a

bunch of other tidbits from the Admiral he is amazing observe listen to your

card just remind yourself go over the Author of Your Own Story website. Find

this Daily Growth Hack and make sure you do it that's it for me today go ahead

make your bed and reminding you go out and be the Author of Your Own Story.

08 Beginner's Guide to Python - Dictionaries and For Loops - Duration: 10:32.

Welcome back to the beginner's guide to Python in this lesson we're going to

learn about Python dictionaries. Dictionaries are a datatype within

Python that allow you to map keys to values so you can think of dictionaries

as a list of key value pairs. Let's go ahead and create our first dictionary.

Alright so load up the Atom editor with the same project that we were working on

in the last video the beginner's guide to Python. Let's create a new file

within this and let's call it dictionaries.py. Alright so let's

imagine that we wanted to create a dictionary that contained a list of the

apples that we have in stock and the value is the number of apples that we

have in stock so you basically have an inventory of apples and the number of

amount that we have in stock. The way that you create a dictionary is you

write the name of the dictionary so let's call ours apples and then you put

equals and then you open up these curly brackets here. If you just do this you

can create an empty dictionary but if you want to assign values to the

dictionary when you first create it what you do is you type the name of the key

and this can be a string or an integer or a string or a number. We're gonna use

a string in this case because we're going to call it the name of the apples

that we have in stock so let's take one of our apples, the cox

variety of apple and what you do is you create the key that you want and

then you use the colon and then you tell it what value you want to assign to this

key. So we're gonna create a key called Cox and we're going to assign the value of 17

so if you imagine this is the name of the item we have in stock and this is

the number or the quantity of that item that we have available. Okay so you

can basically add as many key value pairs as you like. So you separate the

key value pairs by commas, so if we do , braeburn and

let's just say we have 21 braeburns in stock and then let's add one for pink lady

say we have seven of them and then let's say we have royal gala and we have 12 of

them and then let's say we have Fuji and we have one of them. Okay so this is our

dictionary now in Python there's a... We haven't touched on this so far but

there's a recommended line length of the file so they recommend that your line

that each line should be no longer than 79 characters and that's what this

kind of gray line is here that atom displays for us. So it's recommended for

dictionaries like this that you can actually break them down into individual lines so

you can basically put each of that key value pair on its own line and then you

can... It basically makes the code look a lot cleaner and easier to read. So we're

gonna do that break that down. Alright save the file

Okay so now you can see we have a dictionary with the items that we have

in stock and the number of the quantity of that item that's available. So what

you do with dictionaries is you can access these values in a couple of ways.

So, one way and probably the most common way is if you wanted to output a

particular value from this dictionary then you use the square brackets to

identify which key you want to retrieve the value for. So let's say we

wanted to create a new variable called cox stock, so we wanted to know how

many cox apples we have in stock, we can type cox_stop =

and then the name of our dictionary and then the key that we want to

retrieve from our dictionary. So we want to retrieve the key for Cox then this

will retrieve the value that is currently assigned to Cox at the time of

calling this line. So now we can actually print the value, so we do print we have

Alright let's save that and then let's load up

the command prompt window and let's run our code, so if we type Python dictionaries

and it's saying we cannot convert yes so we basically need to wrap this Cox stock

in a STR and that is because as we touched on in the previous videos you

can't merge a number or an integer value into a string you need to convert

it to a string first using this STR function here. We run that... I've got to

save the file. Okay there you can see it worked

third time is a charm and we have output to the screen here we have 17 Cox apples.

Okay so that's how you retrieve an individual value from a dictionary, let's

imagine we wanted to print out every single value from the dictionary. So for

this we need to iterate over the dictionary and then at each iteration we

need to print the value and their key that we have retrieved. So you can

basically do this by typing apples or typing for apple in apples.keys print

apple. Let's save that. Okay so what this does

is it basically uses a for loop to print each key that is available in the

dictionary. So this apples.keys is a

function that comes with any dictionary you create and you can do this you can

call the keys function to list all of the keys in that dictionary. So we run

this again you can see that it outputs each and every key that we have in the

dictionary. So that's one way to iterate over the dictionary. Another way is you

can actually iterate with the keys and the values in the same line. So what we

can do is we can type for key or let's call this actually for apple stock count in

apples.items print we have

stop or let's convert it to a string STR stock

count and then the name of the apple

Alright I'll save that. Just expand this so you can see the full line. Okay so

what this is going to do is it's going to iterate over all of the items in our

dictionary and it's going to pass into the for loop the name of the key first

so it always starts with the key which is the apple type and then the value

which is the amount we have in stock. So if we were to run this now you can see that

it loops through and it outputs each and every each and every apple that we have

and the number that we have in stock so that's how you loop through the

dictionaries. Another useful function in the dictionary is the get function.

So, the get function works just like this this square bracket notation here where

it retrieves a value in the dictionary. The difference is if the value doesn't

exist you can assign a default value, so let's say we want to have we want to

know how many McIntosh apples we have. We can use we can use the dictionary and type

the dictionary name apples.get Macintosh and we'll set the default

value to zero so what this does is it basically provides a safe way to

retrieve items from the dictionary in case they don't exist. So in our case

there are no Macintosh apples in there so we have zero in stock so save that

and let's just print mac_apples to see what the value is. You can see the last

thing that it output was this print statement and it says zero because

basically there is no Macintosh apples in stock if we were to change that to

one then it would output that value. So this is basically a useful function for

retrieving values because it allows you to retrieve values without creating any

errors because if the values don't exist you can just basically set a default.

Okay so that's how you use Python dictionaries. Thank you so much for

watching I hope you found this video useful and if you have any questions at all

please leave them in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe for

notifications for future videos that we publish on this channel. Thanks for

watching and see you in the next video.

S. Korea to shift toward renewable energy, natural gas - Duration: 1:44.

Just in time for the new year ahead, the South Korean government has come up with a new blueprint

for future energy policies.

The main idea is to gradually phase out the country's reliance on traditional energy sources

such as nuclear or coal, and slowly turn to renewable ones.

Lee Jeong-yeon has the details.

Korea's energy ministry announced on Thursday its new energy roadmap for the next 12 years,

in line with the worldwide trend of turning to renewable energy.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced its eighth basic plan for long-term

electricity supply and demand, which will run from this year until 2031.

It stated in a press release that the ministry is shifting focus from prioritizing stable

power supply and economic efficiency to focusing on environmental and safety issues.

The nation will reduce its heavy reliance on nuclear and coal power plants and increase

its proportion of plants that use renewable energy and liquefied natural gas.

The goal by 2030 is to raise the ratio of renewable energy to 20-percent by increasing

the use of solar and wind power plants.

Currently, there are 24 active nuclear power plants producing 30-percent of the nation's

electricity, but according to the nuclear phase-out plan, this number will be reduced

to 18.

According to the plan, greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 26-percent from the current

average, and fine dust levels will also be cut by 62-percent.

This new energy policy reflects safety concerns following the Fukushima incident in Japan

in 2011 and the two major earthquakes over the last two years in the southeast of Korea.

The ministry will finalize its plans at a public hearing on December 26th.

Korean gov't to promote software industry and tackle growing gambling industry - Duration: 2:29.

As part of the government's goal of building a creative economy, it plans to improve training

for young people to go into the software industry,... a key sector for the so-called Fourth Industrial

Revolution.

Another issue addressed by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon today was gambling.

He stressed the importance of the government getting a hold on betting in sports and other

areas... which he thinks is becoming a serious social problem.

Our Ji Myung-kil has more.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon on Thursday... said it was necessary to provide the right

job training and education to foster job creation in the software sector.

(Korean) "It is important for the government to create

an environment for the younger generation where they can experiment using their imagination

and creativity, which is key to the success of the software industry."

He also said jobs like industrial software programmers, games programmers, and data analysts

will serve as new career opportunities for younger people.

According to Korea's Software Policy and Research Institute,... the country's software industry

reached nearly 4-billion U.S. dollars this year and is growing by 1-hundred-million dollars

every year.

Therefore, the government also plans to construct models to predict how the Fourth Industrial

Revolution would affect software jobs in the future.

Prime Minister Lee also noted the alarming growth rate of gambling and other adult entertainment

businesses.

(Korean) "Korea's gambling industry is showing signs

of overheating.

The industry is expanding 6-point-3 percent every year."

He said it was important to eradicate corruption, especially in sports gambling,... referring

to match-fixing scandals which have struck professional sports players in recent years,...

and called for greater attention from law enforcement authorities.

(Stand-up) "According to the prime minister's office,...

Korea's gambling and lottery industry has grown by more than 18-billion dollars for

two consecutive years,... with gambling addiction reaching over 5-percent, which is over two

times higher than the OECD average of around 2-percent."

Therefore, the government plans to strengthen monitoring of casinos, horse racing, traditional

bull fighting, and lotteries, and promote socially responsible practices.

S. Korea's annual trade volume for 2017 surpasses $1 trillion - Duration: 0:51.

Korea's annual trade volume has surpassed the 1-trillion-dollar mark for the first time

since 2014.

According to the trade ministry, Korea's combined imports and exports surpassed a trillion dollars

at around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Exports for the first 11 months jumped 16.5 percent on-year to reach almost 525 billion

dollars, driven by memory chips and petrochemicals.

The value of Korean goods traded through September accounted for 3.3 percent of the world's entire

trade, up from last year's 2.8 percent.

Korea's trade stayed above the trillion dollar mark for between 2010 and 2014, but in the

last 2 years, it's fallen short.

Korea is one of just 9 countries, including the U.S., China, and Germany, to have ever

achieved 1 trillion dollars of annual trade.
