Waching daily Dec 21 2017

The new year is just around the corner, and with that, a think tank in Seoul has neatly

summed up their outlook on international affairs in 2018.

It includes speculations on North Korea's missile technology and what would happen if

they were to complete it.

Our Lee Jeong-yeon reports.

With North Korea's latest test of its Hwasong-15 ICBM in November, the world was left speculating

what its next move would be.

A South Korean think tank has attempted to provide some answers.

In its report "Outlook on International Affairs for 2018," the Institute of Foreign Affairs

and National Security says the biggest task left for the regime is to perfect its missile

technology, with the remaining part being re-entry technology.

(Kor) A successful missile launch must have three

things: launch trajectory, position control, and re-entry.

North Korea's missiles currently have the first two, but not re-entry.

But why is re-entry technology so important?

(Kor) "Re-entry is what allows a nuclear warhead

to withstand extreme heat and pressure when passing through the Earth's atmosphere.

Without it, the missile would not be able to drop nuclear weapons onto its target area.

That's why it's so important."

The expert added that there are two possible scenarios for the future.

One, North Korea doesn't succeed in its re-entry technology next year, in which case they will

continue testing ICBMs.

But the second scenario is what's drawing the most attention.

If they do succeed, they will most likely seek disarmament talks with the United States.

(Kor) "North Korea will most likely demand to be

recognized as a nuclear state and to keep a certain level of nuclear technology, in

exchange for limiting their ICBM capabilities, enough to attack neighboring countries."

The expert added that the timeline in which this would happen could vary from a few months

to a few years.

But it is only a matter of time.

And when that time comes, the U.S. and the regime's neighboring countries such as South

Korea and Japan must decide on how to respond to North Korea's request to be recognized

as a nuclear state.

N. Korea rejects U.S.' blame for links with 'WannaCry' cyber attacks - Duration: 0:48.

Pyongyang has fired right back at Washington after the U.S. blamed North Korea for massive

cyber attacks around the world.

The North's Korean Central News Agency... quotes the regime's foreign ministry spokesperson

as saying North Korea has been framed by the U.S. and Pyongyang will not overlook that.

The report didn't say which incident he was referring to, but it appears to have been

the WannaCry attack back in May.

Joining other victims like Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan... the U.S. on Tuesday

accused North Korea of carrying out the ransonmware attack that affected hundreds of thousands

of computers across the world.

Pyongyang claimed it has no link to any cyber attack, but its military cyber unit has been

proven responsible for multiple cases, including some here in South Korea.

the North Korea nuclear issue with his Japanese counterpart.

The foreign ministry says he'll be staying for two days and will discuss the North's

most recent ICBM, which took place late last month, as well as how to draw the North back

to talks.

It will serve as a follow-up to the meeting between the two countries foreign ministers

in Tokyo earlier this week, in which they pledged to continue to find a peaceful resolution

to the North Korea situation.

This is Lee's first trip to Japan since he was appointed in September.

The Fine Art of Fan Art: Episode 2 – Cosplay - Duration: 4:15.

My name is Monika Endres. I come from Göttingen.

I'm Ewenae and I live in the north-west of France, in Normandy.

And I'm a cosplayer.

Usually you have to teach yourself how to cosplay.

You just have to want to learn, bit by bit,

and then you can craft whatever you want.

Cosplay is obviously a huge part of my life. It's actually very intense.

So are my studies; they're also a lot of work.

But cosplay is a lot of work in a different way.

In the development of a cosplayer, the community is really important.

If you look at the community of WoW cosplayers, it's very close-knit.

That makes it so special.

I feel that, in recent years, the designs

have become more 'cosplayable', as it were.

I started playing World of Warcraft after the Lich King expansion.

I've still got my little Shaman and I play Alliance.

When I was raiding I always played a Mage.

It's just the one that always fascinated me.

Always for the Horde.

It's such a well-constructed world, with factions, history and mythology.

I think that's the beauty of it.

And it's done.

Sylvanas' bow was particularly difficult because I had to cut through

extruded polystyrene to create a bow made out of bones.

My latest costume, Alleria Windrunner,

was a tough nut to crack.

This was the first time I had tried to make something as accurate as possible.

Before that I had always added my own interpretations.

This time I wanted to be as accurate as possible,

obviously not without losing my own style. But it took a very long time.

I met Ewenae for the first time during Gamescom 2016.

The fact is we both knew straight away that this was an incredible woman,

a truly talented cosplayer.

What I admire most about Fenvaria is her skill.

She's good at using new techniques. On each costume, she showcases new things.

It gets more beautiful every time.

I had a close look at the leg plates and I find them particularly fascinating.

The details are extremely well crafted, especially the battle damage.

When you're in costume, you're more of a model than a cosplayer.

The two come hand in hand, and the production

is definitely the most important part.

Korea makes final touches on Olympic preparation,.. as it celebrates G-50 until the Winter ... - Duration: 2:44.

Korea is now just weeks away... from hosting its first Olympic Games in 30 years.

To welcome visitors and host the Winter Games successfully,.. the organizing committee and

others involved... are working on their final preparations.

Transport to Pyeongchang is now ready... and they're doing work on the main venues to make

sure athletes and spectators are comfortable in the winter cold.

Our Lee Ji-won has more.

With only 50 days left to go until the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics,.. Korea is putting

on its final touches... on 6-and-a-half years worth of preparations.

On Thursday, a ceremony was held to mark the launch... of the Gyeonggang high-speed KTX

rail line.

Extending the previous route to the eastern city of Gangneung,... the new line takes visitors

from Seoul... directly to the host cities of the 2018 Olympics in a much shorter time.

It normally took 3 to 6 hours,... depending on the mode of transportation, to get to Gangneung

from Seoul,... but the new line cuts the travel time to slightly under 2 hours.

(Korean) "The existing line went around the region

to get to Gangneung, but the new line goes right through the Taebaek Mountain Range."

And during the Olympic season, more trains will be running,.. not to mention the temporary

operation of trains from Incheon International Aiport straight to Pyeongchang and Gangneung.

The train will be officially opened to the public starting Friday.

Venues are also getting their final touches.

Jeongseon Alpine Centre, where one of the first Olympic events will be held, has completed

all of its construction and tests,... and now at the final stages of setting up the

fences, piling artificial snow and grooming the surface by January.

Now, while the construction of the Olympic Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies

will be held, was completed months ago,... the organizing committee is making improvements

in the facilities.

At a concert held at the stadium last month,.. a number of spectators suffered from hypothermia.

As fighting the cold has been one of the major concerns at next year's opening ceremony,...

the organizing committee will install heaters at corners and windshield.

(Korean- ) "We will build a transparent wall around the

inside of the stadium to block the wind from coming in without hindering the spectators'

view."

The committee also plans to distribute blankets, hot packs and other winter wears to keep the

spectators warm.

With the hardware for the Winter Games finalizing, the organizing committee is now focused on

boosting promotion and ticket sales... to get one step closer to successfully hosting

the country's first Olympics in 30 years.

5 Things Being Introvert and Antisocial are not the same - Duration: 5:37.

5 Things Being Introvert and Antisocial are not the same

Some people believe introverts are awkward and have trouble relating with others.

Others believe being an introvert means being a loner or antisocial.

All of these assumptions couldn't be further from the truth, and there is one huge clarification

that needs to be made: Being an introvert is not the same thing as being antisocial,

says Dr. Arnie Kozak, a psychotherapist, clinical assistant professor in psychiatry at the University

of Vermont College of Medicine and author of The Awakened Introvert.

Dr. Kozak is a self-proclaimed introvert, and his book focuses on empowering introverts

to use mindfulness and meditation as a means of learning how to use their strengths.

Talking with SheKnows, he not only clarified the main difference between being an introvert

and being antisocial, but he also gave a snapshot of how introverts function in social situations.

So, here are the 5 ways being an introvert is nothing like being antisocial.

If you find this information is helpful to you, please consider to like this video and

subscribe our channel so you won't miss any interesting update in the future guys!

1.

Being antisocial is a clinical condition; being introverted is a personality trait.

"A person who is antisocial is basically someone who is a psychopath; it is a clinical

condition that has a genetic component," explained Dr. Kozak.

This is compared to introverts, who are perfectly capable of relating to others in a healthy

manner.

Being introverted is merely a personality trait, not a clinical condition, and a single

component of what makes a person unique.

2.

Introverts are equipped with the skills needed to be social and build relationships; antisocial

individuals are unable to relate to others in a healthy way.

"An antisocial person is technically someone who is against society, who lacks empathy

for others," said Dr. Kozak.

"Most introverts are very social people.

They have friends, they enjoy spending time with people and they have the capacity for

empathy."

Instead, introverts are more selective about their social life.

Certain situations can be especially draining for introverts, and so they may need more

time to recharge in order to feel refreshed after a particularly exhausting social situation.

3.

An antisocial person can be extroverted and very outgoing.

"Some antisocial people are serial killers, like Ted Bundy, and he was very social,"

said Dr. Kozak.

Ted Bundy is one of the most notorious American serial killers.

When he was executed in 1989, he was proven to be responsible for 36 murders and many

believed he was actually connected to over 100 murders.

Ted had a reputation for being incredibly active both socially and politically, and

was so confident and outgoing that the people who knew him were shocked to learn of his

murderous rampage.

"They would still have other personality traits.

You can be an extroverted antisocial person or an introverted antisocial person," Kozak

elaborated.

4.

Introverts enjoy deep connections with the people they are close to, while antisocial

individuals are unable to feel empathy.

Introverts typically enjoy small get-togethers, they have social skills and they feel a deep

connection with those they are close to.

Introverts are simply more selective about how they socialize, and need periods of solitude

in order to best care for themselves, according to Kozak.

This is compared to people who are antisocial: They are unable to connect or feel empathy

and will sometimes act out in a manner that is destructive or goes against societal norms.

When we spoke, Kozak also shared another common misconception about introverts.

He shared that many confuse being introverted and asocial.

While all asocial people are introverts, only a very small percentage of introverts are

asocial.

A person who is asocial, like an introvert, has the skills necessary to socialize with

others, they simply choose not to.

An asocial person will choose not to socialize, and would be best described as a loner.

5.

Introverts don't need to be fixed or taught to be different.

Not only is there nothing wrong with being an introvert, but also there are many strengths

only introverts can offer the world.

It is important to understand that introverts don't need to be fixed, or to learn to behave

like an extrovert.

Instead, introverts should honor who they are, being selective about the social situations

they engage in and spending plenty of time in solitude caring for themselves.

So, whether you are an introvert yourself or you are close with an introvert, know this,

being an introvert is nothing like being antisocial.

Embrace the introverts in your life and celebrate this personality trait that gives them a unique

outlook on the world.

Well, that's the 5 ways being an introvert is nothing like being antisocial.

So, really cool information isn't it?

IOC releases guidelines on uniforms for 'neutral' Russian athletes - Duration: 1:38.

A winter sports powerhouse, Russia was recently banned from competing under their national

colors at the PyeongChang Olympics because of a massive state-sponsored doping scandal.

With just a month-and-a-half to go until the curtain comes up on the Games,... the International

Olympic Committee has released requirements for Russian athletes competing in February

as neutrals.

Kim Hyesung has the details.

A list of 13 guidelines has been revealed for Russian Olympic hopefuls for the upcoming

PyeongChang Winter Games.

The International Olympic Committee's ruling Wednesday comes two weeks after a ban was

imposed on Russia for widespread doping, with the exception of athletes who passed a strict

anti-doping process.

Russian athletes, coaches and team officials must wear a logo that reads "Olympic Athlete

from Russia" and the word "Russia" will also be upside down.

A maximum of two colors are allowed for their uniform, but it cannot have the same tone

as the red, white and blue colors of the Russian flag, though darker shades of red and blue

will be permitted.

As for the Winter Paralympics, it's not yet clear whether Russia can compete in the games.

The International Paralympic Committee said Wednesday it will maintain its suspension

of the Russian Paralympic Committee, which has been in place since the Rio Paralympics

last year.

The Committee said it will make its final decision in late January, weeks before PyeongChang

Paralympics begin in March.

In the interim, Russian athletes can compete as neutrals in qualification events across

four sports - alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing and snowboard.
